I'm here to admit that I may have developed a hyper fixation on your OCs (especially on Zerion and Sir. Valentine) so can you perhaps tell us more about them? (And other OCS)
oh hey!! great selection of characters. Makes me really happy you wanting to know more about them! I love them a lot, but Sir Valentine more, as Zerion's personality and setting is pretty nebulous still. info about them both under read more!
Zerion is some sort of cartoony super villain, heavily inspired in the night of the bald mountain monster interpretation from Fantasia(disney)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(art from 2020)
I think he's a very strong dark mage or something. Right now I have him reduced to a joke. A cartoony villain living his slice of life, but always awaiting action, the smallest spark chaos, to join in, in a world where nothing ever happens. He has his sidekick, Vampina (I think that was her name). A vampire chick who lives in the moment and is Zerion's servant, as long as he provides him with some blood every now and then
Tumblr media
(2023)
Tumblr media
(2021)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she almost never pulls off that relaxed smile from her face, her brain usually has no thoughts more than "can i eath this?" "I can eat this" Both of them are pretty evil. I remember once i tried to sketch out a first chapter, where they had a visit of income tax department agents, coming to remind Zerion he hadn't paid his taxes, and both Zerion and Vampina made a whole intricate plan on how to get rid of them and torture them, to show the government they're not to be fucked with. Though, all their scare tactics were just confusing, failed magic tricks for the men, now tied to apparent non functioning electric chairs, looking at each other through their sunglasses, stoic faces, while confused to what Zerion is yapping about in his villain monologue, while Vampina eats a stale bread in the BG. ---------------------------------------------------------
I don't have much about Sir Valentine either, but I certainly have drawn him more. For now, His name is Sir Cannon Valentine, but we'll get to that in a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(both from 2020)
Tumblr media
This is the first art ever I made of him, and that's a lot of his vibe. (2019)
This MAN, is some warrior who died in his armor but is back by some whack magic, and he's impatient, easily irritated, screams instead of talking, and I've always imagined having him a strong accent. He's here to fight and go headfirst into everything bc he really cannot die.
As of 2024, Sir Valentine is Sir Cannon Valentine (you can still call him the first version), BECAUSE, besides him being reborn and inmortal, angry and ready to fucking obliterate anything in his way, now his body works as a canonball
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He went through my manic episode of redesigning many of my characters, after getting a taste of Pizza tower's cartoony characters, and became this. Much more functional, easily drawn, flowy. he just works, i can animate him in a snap of fingers. Still consistenly working to improve his design even more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will probs change the story, but this guy is resucitated as a last resort for a war between kingdoms, as a mistake, bc they wanted to revive some other guy, but got mistaken and went to his thomb. This guy revived him, after a ritualistic dance and some lightning
Tumblr media
and then he is like "oh wait I fucked up", and Valentine is like "TOO LATE BITCH I'M FREE!!" and blasts away from him, as a cannonball, fueled by his own fire and methane gas from the catacombs he is in lol. This story is very not much constructed, but I love Sir Valentine a lot, and the characters I can surround him with. I see him falling for a bourgeoisie woman, or a princess even, bc all my stories need the romance, I'm nothing without the romance. I am also thinking of including another character of mine, Sayen, as the daughter of this death guy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sayen previously appeared as a participant in a nsfw comic in my twt alt account lol. I love her and her design very much.

Lots and lots of random spoilerific things about Star Trek comics
Gold Key's old run was written by people who had never actually seen the show. Later they involved fans like Doug Drexler to make things a bit more authentic
This however made them, IMHO, amazing
Blond scotty. Wearing green.
Voodoo planet, with papier mache versions of Earth landmarks which, when blasted with a death ray, cause the real ones to collapse
Spock learns voodoo to combat this threat
The Enterprise completely razes a planet of hostile plant spore things. Like full on extermination of all life
There's a locked room on deck 7 full of evil Vulcan spirits. A yeoman blunders in and all hell breaks loose
Kirk doesn't know what a god damn black hole is
Spock is kidnapped by aliens, has their entire knowledge downloaded into his brain which makes him into a bobblehead for awhile
The Enterprise is briefly taken from Kirk and given to Captain Zarlo, who is a total bellend
Spock forgets to have pointed ears sometimes
The old UK newspaper comic strips were even worse. The first few issues feature "Captain Kurt" and he wears a red shirt. Bailey is also a lead character, giving away which one episode they had knowledge of
Depictions of the Enterprise in their very first strip will shock and horrify you, but after that the art becomes amazing and maintains a very high standard
Marvel did a series following The Motion Picture, and it was a vast improvement, although they technically had rights to the movie and not the series, which led to a little weirdness. Tons of references still were snuck in, though
There's a series of Book and Records, which you can listen to on YouTube and are goofy fun. The Enterprise desperately needs a meal in the art, though.
They draw Romulans as green wizards
They didn't have the rights to Nichelle Nichols or George Takei's likenesses, so get ready for White Uhura and Black Sulu!
They didn't have the rights to The Animated Series either, so M'Ress is a human with weird face paint and Arex is substituted for just some guy
There's an unlicensed Chinese adaptation of The Motion Picture's novelisation (made with zero prior knowledge of Star Trek), which features an all-star cast like O.J. Simpson as Decker and James Brolin as Kirk. It's called The Star Trek, which is a better name than The Motion Picture, IMHO.
DC comics' first run is considered some of the best Trek ever. They're made with love and a deep knowledge of the source material
You know how Star Trek III takes place right after II? WRONG. It was several months later and the crew (with Saavik taking over from Spock) had tons of adventures in the interim. It just seemed like it was right after😂
Before Worf and long long before Ash Tyler, Kirk had a Klingon on his crew
He was a cowardly Klingon named Konom who fled the Empire
He fell in love with a human woman named Bryce
They adopted an albino Klingon/human child with dwarfism which they named Bernie
Kirk has an unhinged, insubordinate crewman on board named Bearclaw and they hate each other
Tension escalates and eventually there's a stabbing
Sulu/M'Ress happens and I don't think people knew what furrys were in the 80's
You know how Spock comes back at the end of III but isn't his old self until the end of Star Trek IV? WRONG AGAIN. He came back just fine, and lost his marbles following an incident months later that just happened to line everything up to make it all seem like it was right after.
After STIII, Kirk becomes captain of the U.S.S. Excelsior NX-2000 and Spock becomes captain of the U.S.S. Surak. We get a few issues exclusively focusing on Spock's ship and his band of merry weirdos.
The U.S.S. Surak keeps changing design, starting off as a sort of Oberth-class ship, then randomly becoming an Excelsior-class ship and finally ending as the warp sled shuttlecraft from The Motion Picture
The Surak's crew include a giant chicken man, a Vulcan hating racist lady and a balding man with a bicycle
They all die horribly and a massive reset button is pressed so everyone is exactly where they were at the end of Star Trek III
In order to make that work they had to bs that the Klingon Bird of Prey was hidden in Excelsior's shuttlebay all this time despite it being way, way too big for that
There's a full on mirror universe invasion
Kirk becomes a celebrity from saving the galaxy all the time
Mr. Arex comes back and becomes chief of security but doesn't really do much
HORTA CREWMEMBER. It's as amazing as it sounds
The first Next Generation comic miniseries was made with knowledge of the first 2 or 3 TNG episodes and nothing else
Everyone is hench as fuck. Picard has washboard abs and bulging muscles
Data is emotional and Troi feels the emotions she senses a la "Encounter at Farpoint"
Wesley is drawn as if he's 10
The B-shift con and ops team are a husband and wife who wear caped superhero versions of Starfleet uniforms with bare legs.
They argue. A lot.
The crew meet an alien Santa Claus and Q loses his powers years before "Deja Q"
The whole Q Continuum visits the Enterprise and they're all John De Lancie but in Starfleet uniforms of every colour under the sun.
After that initial miniseries, the Next Gen crew lose a lot of their muscle mass and start resembling their on screen counterparts a lot better
Picard had a brother who fell down a hole and died as a child. Q offers to rewrite history so he doesn't die. Claude Picard grew up to be Space Superhitler and turns Starfleet and the Federation fascist.
Before all this Q turned Jean-Luc into a goat for the lolz
Marvel's The Early Voyages was very literally Strange New Worlds before Strange New Worlds.
They have a pyrokinetic security officer named Nano and he's awesome
Marvel lost the Trek license quite suddenly, and so the series ends on a cliffhanger where Admiral April is up to something iffy.
Marvel did a Starfleet Academy series featuring Nog and its utterly fantastic
A female Andorian cadet tries to make Nog feel at ease by greeting him in the nude, but Nog fails to take it as an innocent gesture and she immediately sends him flying across the room
Romulan agents with split personalities in Starfleet Academy!
They visit Talos IV and get help from Captain Pike, who's still alive
IDW comics did a prequel to the 2009 reboot where Picard is an ambassador, Data is captain of the Enterprise-E and Nero has hair. It was co-written by the movie writers and was considered sort of vaguely semi canon ish for a time
They originally wanted the Romulan supernova to destroy a lot more, including Earth and have Nero kill the TNG crew. It was the Star Trek Online devs that got them to scale things back because they'd have no universe left to set their game in.
Nero's ship looks like it does because after Romulus was destroyed he took it to a secret Romulan base and had it equipped with reverse-engineered Borg technology
You thought DC struggled to keep ship designs correct? IDW's comics keep using traced fan art from Google Images, and fan art (sometimes with unique ship designs) has shown up on multiple occasions as the Kelvinverse U.S.S. Enterprise
In one IDW TOS comic, the bridge is totally covered with TNG LCARS graphics.
In another, an Orion ship is a gigantic Stargate sticking out of the middle part of Battlestar Galactica.
Wanna see Kelvinverse versions of TOS episodes? That was their first comics run, picking up after the 2009 reboot movie. They start off very faithful and as the series goes on things diverge more and more
To the extent some stories have very different backstories and outcomes
We visit 2 Kelvin mirror universes and a genderswapped universe too. No, Kirk doesn't do what you're thinking.
Q visits the Kelvin Universe and brings the crew forward in time to their version of Deep Space Nine
Nero's time in Klingon prison (from the Star Trek 2009 deleted scenes) and escape is fleshed out
Nero meets V'ger.
Nero mind melds with V'ger.
V'ger turns away due to the sheer force of Nero's hatred.
I wish I was making that up.
Klingons get their hands on Narada's technology and go to war
We get a Khan backstory where the Eugenics Wars are a full on nuclear conflict and "Khan" is the title that little Noon Sing adopts when he takes power
After being revived in the 23rd century, Admiral Marcus has Khan surgically altered to look like Benedict Cumberbatch as part of his John Harrison cover identity
They did a series of shorts called Waypoint, and in the first one Geordi is captain of a future Enterprise and his crew is made up of holographic versions of Data and it's a really sweet concept (this was several years before before ST: Picard brought Data back twice)
There's a prequel series centred around Number One where nobody manages to say her name before being interrupted. If you put the bits together it seems her name was Eureka Robbins. Of course, this is long before novels and SNW made her Una Chin-Riley.

Buddy Daddies character designer interview
Interview with Enami Katsumi (character designer)
Interviewer: This time, you were in charge of character design for an original series - how did you develop the designs for Kurusu Kazuki, Suwa Rei, and Unasaka Miri?
Enami: For Kazuki: I wanted to clearly get across the idea that, despite being an assassin, he's the caretaker figure for Miri and Rei. I was always working towards that, right from the start. Once I had a rough idea of his face, I tweaked his hairstyle and clothing according to requests, to nail things down.
For Rei: In the first draft, he was a well-built, tough-looking guy - the spitting image of an assassin. But once I heard the staff requests and got a better handle on his personality, I changed course and made him a slim man with a gloomy air.
For Miri: Since she’s the heroine, I very much wanted her personality to stand out. So I gave her facial features and hair that brought out her unique traits very clearly, and made her seem a bit older. I don't draw children all that much, so it was quite a struggle.
Interviewer: What did you consider the most important aspect in each of their designs?
Enami: For Kazuki: He's "a mother". I was told this at every planning session, so I made sure to bring out a certain softness in his physique and expressions - something like a mother's tolerance.
For Rei: I aimed to make his duality - of the shut-in otaku and the cool assassin - apparent at first glance. And I made him relatively slim, in order to bring out a clear difference between him and Kazuki.
For Miri: With "an ordinary innocent young child" as my goal, I cut back on the eyecatching characteristics, and made her hair shorter, so that her liveliness would come through more clearly, and her expressions would be easier to read. At first, I thought she might have ended up too plain, but I figured I would leave things up to the animation and voicing. I was really blown away when I saw her fully-voiced and in motion.
Interviewer: Was there anything else you got especially hung up on when it came to Kazuki, Rei, and Miri?
Enami: For Kazuki: The contrast with Rei was crucial, so I definitely wanted to give him a bright, slightly lighthearted air.
For Rei: When it came to Rei's assassin mode, I was thinking along the same lines as the rest of the staff, and so his attire and hairstyle were decided quite easily. Then I aimed to highlight a gap - I wanted his "off" mode to be idiosyncratic enough to be immediately recognisable.
For Miri: I was told that it was important for Miri to have an ordinary childishness and innocence, and so I was careful to give her childlike body proportions that would make it easy for her to express suitably childish actions.
Interviewer: Apart from the main trio, are there any characters you're especially attached to, whether because you're fond of their designs or for some other reason?
Enami: Ogino [Ryo]. Drawing quirky old men is something I really love, and in the final version, after weaving together all the staff's requests, he ended up looking even quirkier than I'd imagined. So he became my favourite.
Interviewer: When you first saw the complete footage of the characters in motion, what impression did you have?
Enami: Kazuki was exactly as I imagined, so my reaction was, "This! Yes, this!" Rei's "off" mode honestly surpassed my expectations. If I have the chance to draw him from now on, I definitely want to draw him with this sort of vibe. Miri's voice really is a full blast of childishness - I was amazed how thoroughly it makes up for the parts that couldn't be conveyed through the drawing.
Interviewer: Enami-san, do you think there is some common charm that the "Buddy Daddies" characters share?
Enami: We get to see their daily lives, and personalities that make them seem like the most unlikely assassins, and that makes them very endearing. And once Miri is thrown into the mix, all three of them display all sorts of delightful expressions - I want to keep watching them forever. Since them being assassins is built into the premise, we're bound to see a completely different side of them in future; I'm looking forward to it.
Interviewer: By the time this is posted, episode 3 will have aired. Are there any scenes from episodes 1 to 3 that you found memorable, or that you're especially fond of?
Enami: The scene where Miri says to Kazuki, "I hope Mama's not too lonely…" When they're talking about the difference from her mama's Hamburg steak, you can sense Miri's emotions brimming over; it's incredible.
Interviewer: Please tell us what you think are the selling points of this series "Buddy Daddies".
Enami: I think ultimately, it's the interactions among the trio. I hope that, as the story unfolds, people will enjoy watching the changing relationship between Miri and the two men under her thumb. Personally, my favourite thing is watching Rei in his "off" mode.
Interviewer: Finally, please give a message to everyone who is enjoying this series.
Enami: This is my first time designing characters for an original anime. I grew attached to these characters, and I'll be very happy if you become fond of them as well. I hope you'll thoroughly enjoy the main trio's adorableness.

That Awkward Moment When You Learn Your Boyfriend was a Cartoon Misogynist in a Past Life (Male!Reader x Gaston -OUaT) PART 2
Gaston x male reader OUaT part 2
Part 1 here!
Tumblr media
Thankfully, over the next few months, you're able to get over Henry's crazy theory
Which takes a lot of wilful ignorance, considering a hunter, likely with hunting dogs, probably would be great reincarnated into a guy who works at an animal shelter caring for the pets there.
And the fact that unless your boyfriend moonlights as a children's book illustrator's model, there's no way such a clear picture of him could appear in a book.
A book that also contains drawings of other people in town, which completely eliminates the possibility of coincidence.
Eventually, right before the curse goes down, you actually move in with Gaston. And right after you see on your laptop (because news coverage is oddly slow and inaccurate in Storybrooke) that same-sex marriage is legal, you even catch Gaston purchasing an engagement ring.
It's when the curse finally ends that everything goes nuts.
A prismatic wave of rainbow light sweeps out through the walls, blasting through you both, and Gaston gives a gasp as if coming up for air.
"Y/N?" he whispers, frightened. "I... I remember things. Bad things."
He holds you tightly, and you watch as the town devolves into chaos around you.
Everyone, it seems, has begun to remember their lives.
Henry was right.
It's a little terrifying for Gaston. Imagine remembering a whole life you've had - part of it as a polymorphed rose - and hating the person you were
Gaston looks at you and tells you everything, terrified of who he is. Much of Storybrooke is going through the same thing. Are they their fairytale versions or their cursed selves or both? Or neither?
You pull him close and make him look at you.
"Gaston. You've just discovered a whole new side of yourself. Maybe not a great side, but still... this is your past. And that doesn't change that you're still the guy I fell in love with."
He hugs you tight. Still trembling.
"But... but what if I change? With new memories... what if I'm different?"
You kiss him. "The fact that you're asking this just makes me more confident. But even if you do change, we'll work it out together."
"I don't deserve you." He whispers and kisses you.
You don't leave the apartment for a week. Mr. Gold, or... Rumplestiltskin... seems to give you the time off, although it's a pretty crazy thing to consider working at the shop now.
Though Gaston comes with you to work one day and apologizes to him. Mr. Gold sneers, but then glances at you. "You have the store discount, my dear, but should you need a muzzle for your beast... I'd waive the fee."
You find that with everything kind of in upheaval, it is easier to spend time with him. Even if there's a strange realization that you are the only non-Savior or savior's son in town to not be from the Enchanted Forest.
And when one of the dwarves crosses the town line and becomes his cursed self permanently, it opens up a strange idea. You have no curse to defy your leaving, and Gaston would rather forget his past. Leaving could be uniquely feasible for you two.
But Gaston instead offers you the ring. "I want to be with you. Forever and ever after. Whether that's in town or away from it, I am yours. Will you marry me?"

Can NOT stop thinking about the Tyr and Fenrir correlation with Marius and Lyf (or at least my headcanoned versions of them? Mainly bc much of Lyf lore is very fanonized you know how it goes). Like they're very different pairs, but also the similarities make me go feral. So um. I'm gonna talk about it :) probably very rambly tho as i am very tired but emotional so sorry :)
Most of us at least know the story of Tyr and Fenrir, right? Right! (To summarize: Fenrir being big scary wolf guy the Aesir gods did not like!! Tyr was Aesir god but he did actually like Fenrir and they got a long decently!! Fenrir got too big and everyone wanted him locked away, and in the end to get that done Tyr broke his word and trust with Fenrir to help capture him, losing his right hand in the process. God I'm bad at compressing info.)
So listen... I headcanon Lyf to be part Jotun. Probably like, some Jotunheimr family and some Midgard family. Fenrir is either part Jotun or just completely Jotun (as he is a son to Loki and his giantess lover. Loki is often considered to be Jotun, not Aesir, despite his place amongst the gods. Sometimes he seems to be... Part Aesir and part Jotun? So theoretically Fenrir may not be fully Jotun).
Then look. Marius lost his right hand too. Sure he had his replaced but he still also lost he right hand.
Mix it together and what have you got! Well, not much. It's really just one random similarity each, plus the personalities of each so extremely different, what is there to draw on? Comparing a cold case inspector to a being of wild nature and chaos? And a morally corrupt pirate to a god of justice, war, and loyalty?
Well I have MORE actually!!! That cold case cop inspector has been blasted with eldritch radiative energy, mutating them and now they're absolutely feral!! They've got the instincts of a wild predatory animal emblazoned into them from Yog-Sothoth, encouraged by the crew of space pirates they travel with to spread their crawling chaos! That morally corrupt space pirate grew up war torn and now causes it, is ride or die loyal to his crew, and can be so often fueled by mmm less justice and more petty revenge.
Of course they're not the same! But the similarities are there!
Also for my final point. Picture the universe in which Marius gained Lyf's trust, the immortal crew adverse to connections mortals, and Lyf's walls high and strong. And yet, he does. So be it that in this universe, he's the one behind bars while Lyf is the one to bring him food. They bond. They connect. But Marius can't take Lyf with him. The crew wouldn't like it, won't let him. He can't take Lyf, and neither can he stay behind.
It should have been obvious, in hindsight. His right hand, his promising hand, had already been taken. That's why Fenrir wanted that hand from Tyr, if course. To take it as a symbol of a word broken. Marius's arm had been replaced, yes, but something damaged and repaired vs something new aren't the same. He wouldn't keep his word to Lyf. He breaks their trust, and leaves them behind to the fate determined for them before their birth. There was a moment in time when things could've been different, but it wasn't.
They aren't the same people. And yet the tale Lyf grew up knowing of Tyr and Fenrir happen again. Happens to them. The story repeats as they're abandoned.
Of course. It doesn't have to end like this. They aren't the same people. Maybe they find each other again. Maybe they can be run together. They don't have to leave the other behind. Something broken being fixed may not be the same as something new, but it's better than leaving it broken, isn't it? And maybe the repaired thing comes out better and stronger than the original.

What your favourite Xeno series game says about you
Xenogears: The elder statespeople of the fandom, you’ve been around since the franchise’s inception. You first played Xenogears as an impressionable teen in the 90′s and thought it was the greatest story you’d ever experienced despite not knowing what in god’s name was going on for most of the runtime (I’ll bet Evangelion is favourite anime too, huh?). Now that you’re an adult with the frame of reference and critical analysis skills to find the substance behind all the weirdness, you love it even more. Disc Two was really not that bad, guys. Part of you wants a remake, but you’re also terrified of how it could get screwed up. You have a visceral hatred of modern day Square-Enix.
Xenosaga Episode One: As far as you’re concerned, the writing took a step down since Soraya Saga stopped being involved in the series. You’ve dug deep into the behind the scenes history of the franchise and so you know that this was the entry in the trilogy that Tetsuya Takahashi and Soraya Saga had the most input on. As such, this game represents to you more than anything what Xenosaga could have been. You have likely read Perfect Works cover to cover multiple times and have written novel length fanfics in your head about what sort of things would have happened in the full six-part story. You’re always very meticulous about checking your email.  Xenosaga Episode Two: You tend to avoid internet discourse because you’re so tired of people in the fandom dunking on your fave. You like the battle system more than Episode One because at least the attack animations aren’t thirty seconds long this time. You never fail to remind Xenoblade players that this game did the break system first. THE SECOND MILTIA THEME SLAPS, YOU TROGLODYTES! Jr. is probably your favourite party member and you loved watching him take centre stage and digging into his backstory. You maintain that Albedo is the greatest villain in this entire franchise and you’re probably right. Xenosaga Episode Three: You know this trilogy was cut short, but you were still super impressed with how well this game wrapped it up. You maintain that Yuki Kajiura deserves to be brought up more when discussing the franchise’s music. Godsibb is straight up a better version of Zanza the Divine and you will die on that hill. You either love Shion or absolutely despise her, there’s no middle ground here. But those of you split on Shion can put your differences aside to give a much deserved ‘screw you’ to Kevin Winnicott. You will probably keel over in joy if KOS-MOS gets into Smash, so you make do with sobbbing into your copy of Project X Zone. Xenoblade Chronicles: The zoomer equivalent to the Xenogears fans. Whether you were around for Operation Rainfall, or hopped on later, this was your first Xeno game, and while you certainly like or even love the rest of the series, none of them quite hit for you like this does. The sense of scope never fails to impress you, even on replays and you can’t help but spin the camera all around as you play. You appreciate the ways the sequels have built on this game, but think this entry’s gameplay is still a blast. You still find using the vision system to turn the tables on a tough fight super satisfying. You love the world and story of this game and frequently watch streams or reactions because you can’t get enough of people losing their minds over the plot twists. People assume that you think Melia is best girl but you laugh because you know the greatness of the Heropon transcends all petty waifu or husbando wars. You’re also probably the most meme-y sector on the fandom and have binge watched Theaggyu’s videos god knows how many times.  Xenoblade Chronicles X: switchportswitchportswitchportswitchport.... You are one of the poor saps who still owns a Wii U in 2022, and given how the Switch has pretty much lifted its library whole sale, this game is probably the sole reason why at this point. Well that and the eShop. It kills you that this game so rarely comes up alongside the likes of Breath of the Wild or Witcher 3 in discussions of the best open worlds in video games. You’re something of a power gamer and you love to push the class system to its absolute limit to decimate bosses. You watch 1 minute solo videos of Telethia the Endbringer and have to resist the urge to drool. Truthfully, you don’t really try to defend the story from its criticism by the rest of the fans, because the writing in the side quests is where it’s at! You have an instant violent reaction to potatoes. You feel for the Xenosaga fans but you also kind of resent them because at least they got two sequels to their unfinished story. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: The Xeno series has ALWAYS BEEN ANIME so SHUT UP! Unlike the X fans who have just been kind of doing their thing in the corner, you’ve been caught in the crossfire of the 1 vs 2 wars for a while now and you’re frankly sick of it. This is your favourite combat of the series by far, and you have put a shedload of time into the DLC challenges. You adore the characters and wish people didn’t get so hung up on some of the goofier designs. When one of your friends tries the game for the first tile, you always send them Chuggaaconroy’s guide video. Still, for all the fandom debacle, one thing you share with the Xenoblade 1 fans is your love of memes. You might even say you...don’t forget them. When Pyra and Mythra came to Smash, you were there in the battlegrounds of Twitter to maintain that they were a great addition. You can never watch the ending without crying. The most likely fans to read/write fanfiction.  Torna the Golden Country: You may not have entirely loved Xenoblade 2, or at least had some major gripes with it. But this prequel fixed pretty much any issue  you have with that game while retaining what you liked. You’ve always felt the past Xeno games were kind of bloated and love that this can give you a substantial experience in 20 hours, instead of having to wait 20 hours for the game to fully open up for you. When people say X or 2 have the best combat, you laugh in Vanguard Switching. Lora is a treasure and did nothing wrong in her whole life. Jin and Mythra are some of the best characters in the series and so help you, you will call down Siren on whoever says otherwise. Whenever you hear the word ‘community’, you freeze up on the spot. I said that 2 fans always cry at the ending, but honestly this ending reduces you fits of sobbing that put them to shame. Xenoblade Chronicles 3: You need to let me into your house and use your time machine RIGHT NOW.

DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE Sofmap Tokuten Drama CD: “The Vampire’s Every Day: Board Game Edition ~ Ayato VS Kanato VS Laito ~”
Tumblr media
Original title: ヴァンパイア達の日常ボードゲーム編~アヤトVSカナトVSライト~
Source: Diabolik Lovers Chaos Lineage Animate Tokuten Drama CD [CD not owned by me]
Audio: Here
Seiyuu: Midorikawa Hikaru, Kaji Yuki, Hirakawa Daisuke
Translator’s note: Back when I translated the silent squad version of this CD, I remember thinking to myself that it had to be the funniest drama CD I ever had the pleasure of listening to. While I still think the Shuu/Reiji/Subaru one is just a little better, this CD definitely delivers as well. I’m just not that crazy about the triplets, but if you’re a triplet stan, you’ll be sure to have a blast with this one!
*Thud*
Laito: …What’s this? A board game…? Heehー Seems like the perfect way to kill some time. I’ll go show this to the other two guys~
The scene shifts to the living room.
Laito: Ayato-kun, Kanato-kun~ I found something interesting! …Geez! At least answer in some way! You heard me, didn’t you?
Ayato: Buzz off! Be quiet!
Kanato: You’re an annoyance so please keep it down.
Laito: Oh come on, don’t be like that! Look, I stumbled upon this board game I’ve never seen before, so why don’t we play together?
Ayato: A board game…? Keh! Stupid. I bet it’s hella borin’ with a bunch of words.
Kanato: Nobody is stopping you from playing by yourself.
Laito: You’re both so cold…You might actually enjoy it once you give it a try? Hear me out! It says that this game is based on the concept of ‘life’.
Kanato: You are only making me lose interest even more. I could care less about such a thing.
Laito: How come? Let’s experience a human’s life first-hand! I think this would be a great way to study the human world.
Ayato: Haah!? Study!? Then I’m definitely not playin’ that shit!
Laito: …Oh, I see~ Well, there’s always a clear winner with these kind of games after all. I can understand why you wouldn’t want to play because you’re terrified of losing~
Ayato: Ah…? Oi. I can’t let that one slide.
Laito: I mean, you don’t think you can win, hence you don’t want to play, correct? I understand. If you really don’t want to, then I won’t force you either. I bet you wouldn’t want to come in last place, huh?
Ayato: Last place, who? Don’t just assume that would happen! I’m number one, even at games! …If you still don’t get that, guess I’ll have to prove my point with this one.
Laito: Eh? Which means…You’re up for it? Guess I have no other choice then~ If you want to play that badly, I’ll let you join. …Here, this is your pawn~
*Thud*
Ayato: …S-Sure. Oi, Kanato. You better play as well.
Kanato: Haahー... I can’t believe you’d fall for Laito’s obvious taunts so easily. How many times do you need to get tricked before you’ll understand?
Ayato: Aah…!? What are you talkin’ ‘bout?
Laito: How mean! I didn’t trick him or anything!
Kanato gets up from his seat.
Kanato: I have no time for this. I’m going back to my room.
Ayato: Oi, wait, Kanato! I can’t prove that I’m number one if you don’t join as well!
Kanato: Oh, don’t worry. We all know that you are the number one idiot of the family.  ーー Anyway, I’m heading back to my room. I don’t want to get caught up in this worthless game.
Laito: Worthless? So in other words…You’re not confident you can win, correct?
Kanato: …Oh, no problem. Unlike that doofus over there, I am perfectly fine with being in last place.
Ayato: You bastard…Just how many times do you have to call me an idiot, huh!?
Kanato: I think it’s about time you realize that I still haven’t said it nearly enough.
Laito: Wait, wait! Geez, don’t fight, you two! …Listen, Kanato-kun. There’s this delicious slice of cake in the fridge.
Kanato: …!! Cake…? Could it be…The one we ate yesterday?
Laito: Exactly! The one Reiji made! I didn’t have any and put my piece in the fridge to eat later.
Kanato: Don’t tell me you’d be willing…to let me have it!?
Laito: If you promise to play with us, it’s all yours! …But I guess you’re not as naive as to get won ver by something as simple as a slice of caーー
Kanato: Deal! Let’s get to it right away!
Ayato: That was quick. Who’s the simple-minded one now, huh?
Laito: Let’s get started then!
Kanato: Yes, that’s fine. However, I will eat my slice of cake first.
Ayato: Anyway, that means all three of us are playing, right? This is a great opportunity to remind you guys that I’m the top dog!
Laito: Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. Then, we need to decide the playing order first.
Ayato: Order? I’m obviously goin’ first!
Laito: That doesn’t sound very fair, does it? …Everyone deserves an equal chance. Let me think…Ah! This board game comes with a roulette, so how about the person who spins the highest number gets to go first?
Ayato: Heck yeah! Imma get the highest number!
*TIMESKIP*
Ayato: Hah! How’s that, huh? I’m number one, just like I said!
Kanato: Hahn…Nom…How can you act all high and mighty when we were only deciding the playing order? Please keep that attitude for when you actually win the game.
Laito: Kanato-kun, you should also choose between eating or talking. …But now we know we’re going to go in the order of Ayato-kun, Kanato-kun and finally me. Well then, start us off, Ayato-kun.
Ayato: I just gotta spin the roulette like I did earlier, right? Here I go!
Ayato spins the roulette.
Ayato: ‘Kay, five squares forwards.
*Thud thud thud thud thud*
Ayato: So, what’s written here? ‘Whoever ends up on this square, gets takoyaki.’...is what it says. I like the sound of that! …But what does it mean?
Kanato: I think you just have to ‘assume’ you got it?
Ayato: That’s no fuーー
*Poof*
Ayato: …!? O-Oi…! Takoyaki showed up in front of my eyes out of nowhere! A whole mountain of them!
Kanato: What on earth just happened!? How could that just appear out of thin air…?
Ayato: Who gives a damn!? Since they showed up in front of me, it means I can eat these, right?
Laito: Are you sure you should eat something so shady? It might not be actual takoyaki.
Ayato: I’m sure it’ll be fine! I have faith in the takoyaki! …Mmphー!?
Laito: What’s wrong? Did one of them get stuck in your throat or something?
Ayato: Mmh…! They’re delicious!
Kanato: Okay, I’m up next. I’ll spin the roulette, okay?
Laito: Mmh. Keep on going.
Ayato: Oi, don’t ignore me! This takoyaki is seriously delicious!
Laito: Eeh~? Is that so? I guess it really was just regular takoyaki then.
Kanato: Exactly. He’s already worked his way through the entire load.
Ayato: Mmh…Damnit! That wasn’t nearly enough to satisfy me!
Laito: Anyway, this means that whatever’s written on the board…
Kanato: Yes. It seems like it becomes reality.
Ayato: That’s hella rad! I always thought the games here in the human world were kinda dull, but there’s some real gems amongst them!
Laito: Hold up, Ayato-kun. I don’t think such a game exists in the human world. Why don’t you read what it says on the front of the box?
Ayato: Ah…? Over here?
*Rustle*
Ayato: ‘Super popular! A board game straight from the Demon World.’ …This thing was made in the Demon World! No wonder I thought it smelt fishy!
Kanato: You sure have some nerve to say that after you had no issue downing that takoyaki earlier.
Laito: Well, turns out it’s not actually a game from this world but who cares as long as it’s fun, right? It was pretty interesting to see a real serving of takoyaki pop up and if it comes from the Demon World, it should be right up our alley, right?
Ayato: I guess you have a point. …’Kay, let’s keep going!
Kanato: Very well. It’s my turn next. I’m in the mood for a sweet dessert. I’d like a square which will give me a whole bucket of pudding.
Laito: Sorry to break it to you, but I don’t think this game works like you’re ordering from a menu at a cafe.
Kanato: I’ll accept a parfait made with ice cream and fresh fruits as well! …Well then, time to spin the roulette.
ーー Three. Well then, I’ll move my pawn forward.
*Thud thud thud*
Kanato: …? What’s this? ‘A large amount of stuffed animals is coming your way…?’ ーー it says. …Hm. Judging from what happened earlier…Don’t tell me…Will this actually come true?
*Rumble rumble*
Laito: Hm? Does anyone else hear trouble?
Stuffed animals come falling down on Kanato.
*Rustle rustle*
Kanato: …Uwah!? …A huge amount…Ouch…! …Of plushies…is raining down on me…from above…!!
*Rustle rustle*
Laito: They keep on coming…And for some reason, only on top of Kanato-kun…
Ayato: Amazin’...Where do they even come from?
Kanato: As if I know…!! …Ugh…Don’t just stand there calmly…and…do something about this…!!
*Rustle rustle*
Laito: That’s easier said than done…We can’t save you from that army of stuffed animals.
Kanato: What did I do…to deserve this…!? Uu…
*Thud*
Ayato: Ahーah…He got completely buried underneath. Oiー! Are you still alive down there?
*Rustle rustle*
Kanato: …Ughー! Haah, haah…Of course I am! I don’t care if it’s just some game…I won’t let myself get humiliated like this…!
Ayato: You love this shit, don’t you? You should be happy to get so many of them!
Kanato: I’m not happy at all! I might be able to let it slide if these were cute plushies, but I don’t want these ugly abominations! …Why does only Ayato get what he likes!? That’s unfair!
Ayato: Like I know!? Complain to this game, not to me!
Laito: Well then, it’s my turn to spin the roulette next~
Ayato: Heh! I bet you’re gonna end up on a weird square as well.
Laito: We’ll see~ Ready…go!
ーー Let me see. Seven squares.
*Thud thud thud thud thud thud thud*
Laito: …Hm?
Kanato: What’s written on there this time? …If you get your favorite food too, I’m throwing a riot.
Laito: No…It doesn’t seem to be my favorite food. ‘You fall into the ocean and have to skip a turn’...it says.
Ayato: Hehe…! What’s that? Hilarious!
Laito: What could this mean? Based on what we saw earlier, then this will probably happen in real life but…
*SPLASH*
Laito: Wah!? …What is this!? …Geez! I’m completely drenched! This is the worst!
Ayato: Haha! You’re soaked! There goes those clothes you love so much. On top of that…You’ve even got an octopus stuck on your hat, haha! …Oi, let’s cook up some takoyaki with that bad boy!
Laito: Eh!? Is there really an octopus stuck on me!? …Uwah! Its tentacles are on my face…! …Ayato-kun, please…Could you take this off?
Ayato: Hah? Do that yourself.
Laito: I-I can’t…! I mean…It’s just so nasty…”
*Squish squish*
Laito: Uwah! I can feel its suction cups on my back as well…! Uu…I’m begging you…Ayato-kun…
Ayato: Fuck off! I don’t wanna touch that octopus either! Figure something out!
Laito: Eek…! Please…I really can’t take it anymore…Uu…
Kanato: Gosh, could you pipe down already?
Kanato grabs hold of the octopus.
Kanato: Don’t make those disgusting noises over some stupid octopus…
He removes it from Laito’s body.
Laito: Haah…I expected no less from you, Kanato-kun. Thank you for removing it…
Kanato: That doesn’t matter. More importantly, why is Ayato-kun the only one having a good time here!? It’s no fair!
Laito: I agree! …Achoo!
Ayato: Heh! I don’t know either. Well, I guess it all comes down to karma.
Kanato: In that case, you should be having the worst luck of the three, no?
Ayato: Say whatever you want. All I can hear is a couple of sour losers. …Come on, let’s keep going!
Laito: I think you’re looking for the term ‘sore losers’...? (1) You dummy. …Hey, are we really going to keep going? I’m kind of tired of this game.
Ayato: What are you saying? You’re the one who offered we’d play! Watch closely! Imma spin the roulette a second time!
ーー Um, three squares, right? Better move my pawn forward.
*Thud thud thud*
Ayato: What did I get this time? ‘All windows in the manor break.’ ーー it says.
*SHATTER*
Kanato & Laito: Uwah!?
Laito: Ah-aah…All of the windows in the living room were blown to pieces. What are you going to do about this, Ayato-kun? I’m positive Reiji will be mad about this.
Ayato: Don’t ask me! The glass broke on its own! It’s not my fault! …Che. Fuck! I had such a good square earlier too!
Laito: I feel like this is going downhill real quick…Should we just stop after all? Because something really bad happens.
Kanato: No! I have not yet given up on my bucket of pudding! It’s my turn next so I’ll spin the roulette right away.
…Four squares.
*Thud thud thud thud*
Kanato: …Hm. …This is?
Ayato: It says that Subaru’s coffin will explode.
Laito: Subaru-kun’s coffin? These messages are finally becoming personal. …Anyway, this means…
*BOOM*
Laito: Well…That was to be expected.
Ayato: You done fucked up. Imma tell Subaru it’s your fault later.
Kanato: Be my guest! I didn’t actually do anything myself.
Laito: …Nfu~ Now that we’ve come this far, it kind of makes you want to know how the game will end, don’t you think? It’s my turn next, right? I’ll spin the roulette~!
Um…
*Thud thud thud*
Laito: ‘Shuu’s vinyls explode…!?’
*BOOM*
Laito: This sound…Seems like they actually did explode, huh?
Ayato: Hehe! This is really starting to get risky. If they find out, they might just kill us. …!!
Kanato: …? Is it just my imagination…or has the mood suddenly changed?
Laito: Right…Could it be because of what happened earlier? ー They can hear people running to the living room.
Ayato: Shit…These footsteps…They’re coming!! If they find us right now, we’ll definitely be given the blame and then our heads are on the chopping block!
Laito: That sucks! Who even suggested we’d play this game? Ayato-kun, you should keep these games to a minimum.
Ayato: Who is playing dumb now, huh!? You’re the one whoーー
Laito: Hey! Now’s not the time for that!! More importantly, we have to do something about the situation at hand.
Kanato: Exactly. I can’t stand the thought of being unrightfully scolded for something I had absolutely no control over! So, what are we going to do?
Ayato: We gotta make a barricade! Let’s block the entrance by pushing the sofa and some desks in front of it!
Kanato: That’s a pretty good idea coming from someone like you. Well then, Ayato. Get straight to it.
Ayato: Haah…!? Why do I have to do it by myself!?
Laito: I guess we really have no other choice. We’ll block the entrance and while Reiji and the others are trying to get past it, we’ll use that time to make a run for it. We should still be able to talk our way out of the damage dealt. Come on, Ayato-kun! Let’s move that couch over there!
Ayato: Yeah! I’m lifting it up!
Laito: Ugh…
*Thud*
Ayato: Okay, the desk is up next. Kanato, get rid of the board on top.
*Rustle rustle*
Ayato: Laito! You grab the opposite side of the desk!
Laito: Yeah, yeah.
*Thud*
Ayato: Okay, this should do. …We actually did a pretty good job. I doubt they’ll get in any time soon now.
Kanato: Good grief…I can’t believe you’re asking me to do physical labor. I’m totally beat.
Ayato: You haven’t even done a damn thing!
Kanato: Oh shut up, Ayato. Reiji and the others will hear you. Well then, let’s use this opportunity to get ouーー
His foot bumps into the roulette.
*Thud*
Kanato: …Ow! Which idiot left the board laying around here!?
Laito: You did, remember? You moved it out of the way while we were making the barricade earlier.
Ayato: Oi…Hold up. Isn’t the roulette spinning?
Laito: …Huh? Ah, yeah. It did. …Ah-aah…It’s all because you kicked it, Kanato-kun.
Kanato: Haah!? Don’t tell me you’re blaming me now!? My foot bumped against it, remember!? I’m the victim here! Uu…Yet, you…are making it seem like it’s all my fault…Uu…
Ayato: Che…Don’t waste your time cryin’ like a baby. …Anyway, what does the roulette say? Which square did we end up on?
Laito: Um…Let’s see…It landed on ‘3’ so moving three squares forward from where Kanato-kun’s pawn was…
*Thud*
Kanato: Uu…Sob… ーー It says ‘The whole manor goes boom.’
Ayato & Laito: …!!
Kanato: I’m never playing a board game agaーー
*BOOM*
ーー THE END ーー
Translation notes
(1) Ayato gets the expression wrong and says 負け犬の鳴き声 or ‘make-inu no nakigoe’ which literally means ‘the cries of a loser (lit. losing dog)’ while it should be 負け犬の遠吠え or ‘make-inu no tou-boe’, which literally means ‘the distant howling of  loser (lit. losing dog)’. For my English translation, I had him say ‘sour’ instead of ‘sore’.

7th Stage Special Interview - Kimura Ryohei (Translation)
"I hope to spend enough time together to live up to your expectations."
Please do not repost/retranslate.
Click read more for the full interview.
What did you think about the shooting for this pamphlet?
The theme was “carnival”, but there was a lively party atmosphere. Even though it was a formal suit, I wanted to bring out Yamato’s style in some way, so I decided to dress it down. I hope I was able to achieve that result.
How did you feel when you first heard about the 7th STAGE?
Since I had watched the movie version, I wondered “What the heck, how are we going to do that!?” so I was a little anxious, but I knew it would be fun. However, when I was at the MetLife Dome last April for another project I could see my breath, so I just hope everyone will be dressed warmly.
Please tell us your impressions of "Uta no☆Prince-sama! Maji LOVE Kingdom" after having watched the completed film.
I received the video and watched it while I was working, and I found myself getting absorbed in it. At the time of recording the voice lines, the images had not yet been fully created and I hardly knew what was going on, so I was surprised when I saw the finished animation. It felt like I was watching a real live performance rather than a movie version of the anime. Since the series has been running for such a long time, it would normally be difficult to casually tell people who don't know about it to watch it, but the elaborate production throughout the entire show was so entertaining that even first-time viewers are sure to fall in love with "Uta☆Pri" at once.
How was the performance of the special unit song "Kaleidoscope" in which Yamato participated?
I have always been interested in futuristic performances such as those using Segways, so the transition from roller shoes to flying hoverboards was really cool. I also liked the blast at the moment of flight that gives the impression of a mixture of colors, which fits the song “Kaleidoscope”. When I perform live at a large venue, I think, "What should I do to make sure everyone can enjoy the performance from any seat?" It is not something that can be duplicated, but I was impressed by the spirit of the three performers as they left the center stage and ran around the whole venue to please the audience.
The integrants of the group consisted of 2 ST☆RISH members and 1 HE★VENS member. What kind of things did you feel through the songs and drama parts?
First of all, when I thought about the cast, I felt very secure in the fact that I would be working with two people who have been involved in the series for a long time. However, I think that Yamato would not only want to create something good together but would also want to show that "HE★VENS is here!” While valuing such core elements, if we get the chance to perform this song, I hope to convey the colorful joy of the three of us. As for the drama part, I think Yamato must have been happy to have the two of them accompany him on his training. I'm sure it's not that the two of them don't work out regularly, but even so, they're still going "Eh!?” at the amount of exercise. I wonder if you have to go that far to control that hoverboard (laughs). Being an idol is certainly not easy.
Yamato is a quarrelsome person, but once he approves of someone, he shows his happy and agreeable side. What do you think are the qualities that make Yamato like someone?
It's just my guess, but I think Yamato probably comes to like someone when he thinks, "This guy's got a lot of passion.” Of course, he probably felt it through ST☆RISH’s performances, but I think he saw it more through the training and rehearsals they did together. I think Tokiya and Cecil were all the more interesting because they are people who do not have that side of them easily visible on the surface. I don't think Yamato is the kind of guy who would hug them or do something like that just for the sake of performance. At that moment, I thought, "He must have come to like them a lot, and they must have had a good time together”.
By the way, what is Kimura-san's image of the "strongest" idol?
I think the only people who can call themselves "the strongest" are those who do everything they can. Whether it's studying or working, there are times when you find yourself thinking, "Ah, I could have done a little more”, right? What is amazing about Yamato is that he is able to work hard to the point where he has no regrets without needing to be encouraged by others. I believe it can be motivating to have such members in a group.
What was the most memorable part about the performance of the group songs?
HE★VENS is interesting, cool, and has a bit of a "chūnibyō" feel to it, but I think the bond between the members is real when they can share that. The structure of the live performance also makes me feel that after gaining experience in the special unit, they are coming back to the group and its true essence. “GIRA×2★SEVEN" is really fun to sing, so I hope people will join me in shouting out the "Girax4" part.
In addition, do you have any favorite “fanchants”?
The "I love you" part of "Ai wo Sasageyo ~The Secret Shangri-La~" is for you to shout your love as loud as you can. There is no pitch or anything, so even if you are not good at singing, don't worry. HE★VENS will entertain all of our spectators.
All the costumes were unique, but were there any that caught your attention?
I would like Yamato to show off his muscles in either a shirtless outfit or a shirtless suit, and the costumes for "Egoistic" would also suit him well. I also really like it when artists perform in various glittering costumes and then change into T-shirts for the encore. Why is that? I wonder if it’s because they look more relaxed and it gives a feeling of intimacy. When I saw the three groups wearing the same T-shirts at the end of the concert, I felt that we had all worked together to create one live, and it made me feel many different emotions.
What were the most memorable moments from the 6th STAGE, the first "Uta☆Pri" live performance you made an appearance in?
Terashii (Takuma Terashima) was always smiling and I thought it was cute. I'm sure it's because Otoya, played by Terashii, is cute. Also, when I saw (Uchida) Yuma's performance, I could feel that he really loves to sing and dance on stage. As someone who has known him since before he made it big as an actor, I was very happy. As for myself, well... High places are something else (laughs). Being that my duet partner (Shimono-san) was a pioneer in this field, I was able to fly as a sign of respect, and I am glad I was able to do something Yamato-like as a result.
What do you want to say right now to the idol who will be your partner in the live performance?
“Yamato, lend me your strength!” I hope I’m excused for not following Yamato’s workout routine but I will prepare in my own way so as not to lose to the size of the venue.
Finally, a message to "Uta☆Pri" fans who purchased this pamphlet!
The movie version of "Uta☆Pri" will be hard for us to top, but I hope to spend enough time together to live up to your expectations. To do so, we need…. the passion of you all. Please have a good time at the live concert!

Note
if the resident giant human were to (per se) be a professional cuddler, i imagine it would help the crew leaps and bounds (or those willing to put aside their skepticism and get a snug when they’re feeling down or just need a hug from a bud). how do you think this dynamic would go down? i’ve had this idea in my head for a bit since ive always wondered how cuddling would go down with frame differences and kibble and such
(Heads up, I took this more as a Reader doesn't mind physical affection or direct contact and the crew ran away with it.)
It’s Rodimus that started it. Really. The captain is very much a flirtatious sort. Very physically affectionate, this captain is. Quite loud and absolutely bombastic. You’re genuinely surprised that neither you nor him ended up in each other’s habsuites earlier. Not surprised that alcohol was involved, though.
You and he are your newly acquired couch that’s suited for your size and comfort, complete with soft cushions and blankets, trying to sober up with varying levels of success. Rodimus is sprawled all over your lap as you surf something to binge on the current galaxy’s version of Netflix. Rodimus, under a haze of comfortable softness that’s your thighs and brain-mouth filter rendered nonexistent after pounding it hard, asks if you could rub his helm. Too amused that his very frame is hiccuping, you did just to see the results.
Somewhere after the fourth episode and your hand wandering down to his spoiler for its own pets, Roddy sprawled across your lap and knocked out, engine rumbling idling in a low purr, armor relaxed enough to fully fit your hand underneath to touch protoform. This guy is a heavy son-of-a-bitch, so you’re pinned there until morning.
You find out that mechs can drool and Rodimus is one of them. You also find out that his spoiler can flex on its own and seems to droop whenever you stop petting.
Even before the Incident that led to your acquired giant status, Tailgate is delighted over the fact you're a willing participant in social exchanges of direct contact. He's very affectionate and friendly on the physical scale compared to the rest of the Lost Light crew.
Tailgate hailed from a bygone era where a nuzzle could be a sincere gesture of appreciation. He doesn’t mind close physical contact. The mini was one of the very few mechs that allowed you to hitch a ride on his shoulders or boost you to a counter if there wasn’t a platform available. Something tells you he either has prior experience with smaller lifeforms or he’s that considerate.
Your couch seems to get far more action after the giantification process. Much less sex than you thought, but no less fun.
Tailgate absolutely is doooooown for movie nights. He has snacks, drinks, pillows, and blankets. He even managed to convince Rewind (didn’t take much) and Swerve (took less effort than Rewind) to join.
The couch is crowded. Tailgate is confused by the plot but having a blast by your side. You’re glued to the screen. Swerve is trying to play it cool but failing on your other side. Rewind is on the arm and is completely fascinated by the entire byplay.
Despite his embarrassment, Rodimus does come back to “Netflix and chill” on the couch. You pop in a marathon or a director’s cut of an already long-ass film and pat your thighs for him to lie down on them.
Humans do have an electromagnetic field. They don’t have the capabilities like Cybertronians to expand or shrink or the emotional filter. It has a chaotic rhythm and strangely pings as “honest” to them.
Rodimus manages to convince Drift to join and somehow you’re the one that’s sprawled across their frames. The captain has your legs and the TIC has a pillow on his thighs with you resting on it.
Rodimus has a thing for action comedies and isekai anime. Drift, on the other hand, enjoys horror. Rodimus is grasping your knees and calves as you and Drift casually make light-hearted bets on the characters’ deaths. The swordsmech has a tendency to absentmindedly play with your hair and is the most relaxed you’ve ever seen the mech.
Drift isn’t unaware. He’s surprised that you allow them a lot of leeway. Doubly so since Rodimus is fond of you. The neck is one of the few areas that’s exposed in some way or some form; there’s a reason why medical berths do have ways to brute force into a Cybertronian’s frame to immobilize and access their innards. No one likes being put in a vulnerable position.
Human bodies are confusing. And so are Cybertronian frames. Intellectually, you know certain appendages can be sensitive. Hell, even considered a major erogenous zone. But sometimes you goddamn wonder how the hell it works whenever Ratchet applied “blunt force therapy” to his finicky medic hands that mecha swear to their jaded sparks that sucking on those fingers could blow a medic’s processor out, or side-eye Bluestreak’s ability to bump his doorwings into objects and surfaces without screaming.
So far, you notice forged medics enjoy being the big spoon, and really, really enjoy having their servos on your belly or tucked into your side.
They can pick up your biochemistry and it's filtered as pleasant white noise rather than activating diagnostic routines. In addition to your natural warmth and softer flesh, it’s quite relaxing to simply wind down and drift away.
You find out that kibble and wings can take damage. Sensors and pressure sites and nervecircuits are dispersed in a certain way across those appendages to factor environmental variables; plus, mecha are able to control their sensitivity and sensation input.
Smokescreen and Bluestreak teach you how to massage them. Where to knead, how much force to apply, what kinds of polish and oils to use, and so on.
Bluestreak prefers a deep-tissue equivalent. While the base looks complicated (because it is) with hinges and pulleys and interconnected cable systems attached to not only plating but to their protoform as well, it’s a tricky, yet simple thing to navigate. You need the powersuit for his massage since your bare hands, even at their roughest, can’t get the right amount of force and friction. Long and strong strokes across his back. Short and sharp strokes to get out the rougher tension. Hands flat as you harshly knead or carefully punch the base to “reset” it, and carefully work your way up the panels and edges and seams to get the connected suites and sensors. Your field leaves a pleasant buzz on his doorwings as they reconfigure.
Smokescreen prefers the joints in his wings getting worked over and over by your bare hands. Skin feels like a very supple, flexible protoform. The repetitive movement and “gentle servos” make it easy for him to relax and unwind.
Trailcutter finds out you make a really great teddy bear. His insides is about 80% engex and his processor is floating away, but you’re also marinating in an equivalent amount of alien liquor as you cuddle into his lap.
You and him are so gone that Neocybex and English have no communication misunderstandings. You’re very comfortable, he says, slurring the glyphs. Yeah, you’re comfy, too, big guy, you say in a very understanding manner.
Everyone else around is flipping their shit because Trailcutter simply tucks your head under his chin and passes another shot into your hands as he takes a moment to enjoy said cuddle.
He does hold your hands because the small, yet very persistent part of his processor that’s valiantly holding all his common sense is howling that it’s a Very Bad Thing to let the wandering hands of a drunk Liaison that’s now fascinated by the “pretty lights” of his chassis biolights near said body parts.

ok backlog of thoughts on the one piece arcs i did not think to liveblog! putting a bunch under a read more because this got long and i don’t want to make a ton of separate posts for retroactive takes.
- luffy really just set out to sea with the thought process of “if i die well lmao.” decidedly unlmao, but don’t tell him that. he also immediately decided koby made a perfect punching bag
- the entire exchange with zoro was basically “join my crew!” “no.” “i think you should.” “guess i have absolutely no choice but to join.” and that is now their entire story
- luffy getting anyone to join his crew is basically just that gif that cuts between bryan cranston dancing and pointing at himself. luffy isn’t asking, either. welcome to the crew, you start in an hour.
- also, love this dinghy. two dudes, chilling in a small boat two feet apart because there’s no room. luffy’s having a blast with his two man crew and zoro’s just along for the ride. completely unfazed. gonna work on his tan and nap.
- also, also. they showed it later in the anime but it was the first thing in the manga, but luffy stabbing himself in the face. see, i remember reading the first volume in middle school so i was waiting for that scene. i also had vague memories of other characters like zoro and sanji, so it was nice to see them appear again. not so nice to remember my first introduction to one piece was the 4kids version lmao
- i love makino. this woman is like 20 on the outside but you know after dealing with luffy and shanks & co. she’s gotta be feeling 50 on the inside. i hope she gets to hit someone with a broom at some point. or go on vacation.
- shanks is like the cool uncle you’ll let watch your kid for a few hours, but only because you called another adult to watch shanks. the dude leaves a devil fruit on the bar in plain view of a hungry child and goes yep, surely nothing will come of this. of course he fuckin’ ate it. freaked out for a minute and went damn, well what can you do lol this is inconvenient
- these bandits coming into the bar and giving shanks shit, only to have luffy give the leader shit back and the guy decides well! guess i, a grown man, have no choice but to beat up a child.
(karma said lmao)
- nami showed up and said she’ll fuck luffy’s shit up if she has to. and then she did. good for her.
- i think the introduction of buggy was the first time i really went oh, so we’re weird weird here, huh. i mean, with a name like “buggy the clown” being taken seriously that’s when it clicked. AND THEN HE STABS THE STRAW HAT? sir you’ve crossed a line. luffy’s gonna chop chop your head clean off and drop it in the ocean.
- when i got to the syrup village/kuro arc i was like damn, how long is this battle. oh you fool, you pathetic fool. you knew nothing.
- jango got sent after some kids to go kill them and like. not for nothing but if i had a nickel for every time someone went after a kid in this show ...
- ok but when kuro was doing his whoosh whoosh invisible move or whatever the hell it was, why didn’t someone just get out a stick and trip him. fight’s a lot shorter then.
- zoro’s backstory thus far is just here’s his friend! and now she’s dead! he has no friends but he has a dream! he + the others need therapists.
- see when we got to sanji i knew him!! i remembered this man. 4kids also gave him lollipops instead of cigarettes. lolly suckin’ loser. love zeff too. between the anime and manga i’m not sure which canon i want to lean into more: him severing his foot to save sanji, or him eating it.
- mihawk fight!! the way luffy SCREAMED when zoro nearly got slashed in half and the weight behind “i will never be defeated again. YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT, KING OF THE PIRATES?!” ohhh these two boys in a dinghy. there are a lot of promises being passed back and forth.
- the don krieg fight! idk that guy was just annoying. not much else to say about that aside being glad when it was over. also hilarious how for each of these fights everyone took their turns. like no, no, like mihawk and zoro fight, and then we’ll go next. and meanwhile those not involved are just pivoting to watch each fight.
- i feel so bad for baby sanji. i still want to study the grown man like a bug, but that baby has been through a lot. (hey, so, does this show hate kids or something.)
- arlong park! ok this was the first arc that really shows how deep the story can get, i think, or at least the first glimpse into it. this was more than “i took over this town to get some money.” this was using a young child to get something he wanted and her using him in return. and she had to work for the man who murdered her mother! who he shot right in front of her and then laughed and dragged her away!
- zoro beat up a bunch of fishmen because he got BORED. luffy told him to wait and “what do you do while i’m gone?” “wait for you to get back” except there are bodies everywhere
- NAMI STABBED HERSELF IN THE ARM SO MANY TIMES how does she not have serious muscle pain after that? AND THEN LUFFY GIVES HER HIS HAT. that’s the first time we’ve seen that one. oh my god
- also zoro is still heavily wounded from his fight with mihawk, arlong rips his bandages off and even he’s shocked he’s alive, nami and the others are horrified, and then luffy just fuckin’ tosses him into the ocean
- luffy’s secret move in a boss battle is just to piss them off. what’s the difference between their species? idk, noses? he’s going to break arlong’s. AND HE DID.
- luffy: “huh, maybe we should get a doctor on our crew first instead of a musician.” zoro, getting his innards sewn back in: “why do you say that?”
- he’s so excited about his bounty! good for him. he’s a wanted man.
- i like this smoker dude. seems like an okay guy.
- roronoa “can i borrow money but also jk i got two swords for FREE” zoro who has so much debt his credit score has plummeted. he’s never going to be able to financially recover from this.
- usopp v daddy fight. words i didn’t think i would say and yet.
- only luffy would nearly get executed and treat it as a “WHOOPS LMAOOOO” only to have an act of god save his life.
- the millenial dragons arc. oh my god. why does apis SCREAM LIKE THAT. they spend five episodes going back and forth to two different islands. “is this the right one? oh jk actually it’s the one we just came from.” is this what hell is like
- because sailing UP a mountain into the grand line makes perfect sense
- THE WHISKY PEAK STORY AHHHH the first moment where luffy jumps to conclusions and zoro doesn’t get a chance to explain himself, but also why should he have to? and luffy yells that he’s going to kill him? they’re supposed to trust one another implicitly! since day one! and then luffy punches him in the face and he’s not holding back and neither his zoro
- luffy says “i’m going to beat the shit out of you” and zoro says “go ahead and try” and nami says “WATCH THIS”
- love that vivi’s like don’t say his name too loud! and luffy immediately goes “who, CROCODILE?”
- an island with dinosaurs. because it just makes sense.
and that’s about caught up to where i started blogging during little garden

"Ahsoka" Review
Lars and Eman were perfect as Thrawn and Ezra. They are those characters and I will not take criticism. More of my thoughts below.
Overall, I give this show an 7.5/10. I enjoyed it more than Mando S3, BoBF, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, but not as much as Andor or the first 2 seasons of Mando. As a Rebels fan, I was overjoyed to see my fave characters like Hera and Sabine return. Just seeing them warmed my heart. When Thrawn showed up, my heart leaped out of my chest. I could not believe that I was seeing Mitth'raw'nuruodo himself in live-action.
Okay, I'm just going to put my Thrawn takes out there (please do not come after me. This is my opinion and I respect anyone who disagrees):
I love Canon Book Thrawn so much. I admire him. I relate to him. I love him. Thrawn in the Canon books is amazing. I enjoy his relationships with Thalias, Eli, and Ar'alani. I love how he mentors Che'ri and Eli. I love that he seeks to protect his people. I love how he is an art nerd and has the craziest plans.
But in "Ahsoka," every time he said "long, live the empire," I wanted to toss my screen. I understand he was closer to his Legends counterpart and I am still excited to see where his character goes I just miss his canon book version.
That being said, I LOVED Lars as Thrawn. There is no doubt in my mind that he IS Thrawn. Voice aside, everything from his mannerisms to composure was perfect. I can't picture anyone else in this role nor do I want anyone else. Lars is able to capture Thrawn's subtle expressions so perfectly and I had a blast watching him every time when he was on screen.
Moving on
Of the new characters, Baylan Skoll was my favorite. Ray Stevenson portrayed him with such grace and elegance. He was mysterious and much welcomed addition to Star Wars. I thought his philosophy was unique and I appreciated that he wasn't an all-out bad guy. I do hope they continue his story and not drop it completely. Rest in peace Ray.
Honestly, I felt that Shin wasn't explored enough for me to really enjoy her. I think she is interesting and there's a lot of potential regarding her inner conflict. I hope season 2 really delves into that. Why did she join Baylon? What power does she seek?
Morgan and the Nightsisters were just really cool to me. The magic they utilized was awesome and the rise of the zombie troopers was spooky.
Also, the music! The Kiners really popped off. I genuinely loved the end credits theme so much. That and the integration of themes were great.
However, I am not a fan of Sabine being force-sensitive. It doesn't make sense in my opinion. It was never hinted at in Rebels and her relationship with Ahsoka feels kinda shoehorned in. I wish we saw what led to her becoming Ahsoka's apprentice. Sabine is already a cool character. Why does she need the force?
Ahsoka in the earlier episodes also was kinda bland. But after episode 5, she felt more like herself. I get that she's not going to be the same as her younger self, but she always had a warmth to her, even when she was serious and I missed that. Rosario still killed it though. I really enjoyed episode 5 with the Clone Wars live-action representation. I know some people really want that but I think it should stay animated.
The lore with the new galaxy was also really cool. It opens the doors to so much storytelling and I love the impact it will have on our heroes. It seems that the Nightsisters and the Mortis gods came from there.
Action was cool, I miss my space husbands, Mon Mothma was cool, and I do think they should stop using the dome for many shots.
Overall, a fun time and I'm excited for what comes next.

some concepts I had for tf2 psychonauts au in 2018 that I still remember:
i addressed it 100% as a game concept and not a fanon thing and tried to approach it as I thought a game dev would
the main character was scout, and the plot involved him learning that he had a psychic father who disappeared and he had to hunt him down to kick his ass for abandoning Ma, but finding a ton of interesting characters and uncovering a rapidly unraveling wacky plot about two rich brothers that were experimenting on people in the desert
the first character we meet is Medic, and he was the last person anyone knew that saw Spy. he's a red herring in multiple ways, because you think he's menacing and weird enough to be responsible for Spy's disappearance, and later on, he fits very well into the role of the guy making people into psychic atrocities. but he's innocent both times, he just does normal atrocities. usually involving baboon organs. you come back later to see inside his head and it's a spiralling, confusing obstacle course utilizing ur only 2 current abilities (super jump + blast). it ends when he realizes you're in there and throws you into a giant birdcage dangling over an abyss and tries to give you a medical exam. you fight his second opinion-esque internal self and help him with his fear of death and loneliness
the second is heavy, who tries to knock your block off for messing around in medics head. but you tell him about medics thing for him and he softens up. he lets you in his brain to help him remember what happened to spy. it's a Siberian themed level with a wild animal theme, but with nods to heavy's intellectual side and love for his family. the boss fight is his idealized version of his father, who, upon defeat, tells him that he doesn't always have to be strong for others. you also get enough hints about spy to move on to Engineer
engineers level is a cyber western themed level that utilizes telekinesis, and you learn to lasso things to swing and pull enemies towards you. the boss is a nod to psn1 with a mechanical bullfight, and littered throughout is references to his daunting patrilineal history. he's definitely from a long line of psychonauts
pyros next, with a pyroland themed inner mind singed at the edges. I haven't thought much in this one but it's definitely where you learn pyrokinesis right? maybe some nods to gender nonconformity and identity but you probably get tugged out before a grand discovery
at this point you've learned enough to know it's the Mann Brothers, and Grey Mann has made his appearance and convinced you of how to stop them. he teaches you the mind reading ability probably. id like to think he's the loboto ish figure instead of medic and hes played more sympathetically
demo is probably the prettiest but saddest level. with a theme based on cryptids and mythos and being a psionic warrior. it's also very silly I think but the man has serious mom issues. this whole game is parent problems 101. but! he knows where spy is!
sniper is a hard guy to find and even harder to figure out. you don't get to be in his mind for very long before he kicks you out, but it looked rather lonely and a bit paranoid. he seems pissed off that you only came to find spy, who he's sure betrayed everyone and took off somewhere. last he saw....
soldiers mind is a mess. enigmatic and paranoid, with cartoonish ideas of patriotism and the military. a bit like oleanders, but more wacky. he doesn't remember who he is, and only knows how to follow orders. and he was told to not talk about the Mann Brothers... I think this lvl is about reconnecting him w his past + identity, and ensuring him that he's not alone in his war
when you find spy, you discover he's been irreversibly experimented on and struggles to control his illusory abilities. he mourns having missed your life due to his fear of commitment, knowing it's too late and that he's too far gone to return to normal society. he teaches you invisibility, and you take on the Manns and their army of psychic thralls to avenge him and end up inside his mind
his mind is a nod to noir films, with a jazzy mysterious soundtrack and an intense art style shift. you hunt down a criminal to save a woman, only to discover it's spy himself. the theme is based around self, love, and the fear of your job ruining your life. he fights you as an invisible-man style villain, and upon defeat, he helps you detain the Mann Brothers and reveals that he is a psychonaut spy.
I have more ideas probably but it's way less fun to read then than see them

RRR is about a culture fighting for its right to exist
Since RRR hit Netflix and reached a global audience, I’ve heard many recommendations for the film, all of which take the form of something like, “This movie is crazy! There’s a scene where they attack a palace by unleashing a horde of wild animals, you have to see this movie!” Or “they introduce one of the main characters by showing him wrestling a tiger!”
These sorts of comments did basically nothing to persuade me to check it out. But I finally did check it out, entirely thanks to the recommendation of Jason Pargin, who (on “We Just Watched” with Dave Bell) provided a great explanation of how the movie actually uses spectacle to convey theme, mostly by vocalizing the subtext in one pivotal scene. (What follows is taken from their exchange, lightly paraphrased/edited for readability)
Jason: There's different kinds of spectacle. For example, the thing that RRR is up for an Academy award, is a song that is from a dance number, 60 minutes in, where most American movies have the key pivotal twist or action scene. In RRR, it's a dance-off. If you had that in an American movie, it would be parody: "isn't it wacky that we're gonna stop and dance 60 minutes into the movie? But in RRR, the song that is nominated for an academy award, the version that's up is the original Telugu version, Naatu Naatu, it just means 'dance dance.' It is a scene where the two superhuman heroes, both men undercover, they think they're friends, they're secretly working to do something else; Bheem's trying to get this kidnapped child back, and at this time you think Ram is hunting Bheem.
They go to this big party at the headquarters where the British are, because they have befriended a woman who's part of the British governor’s family, that's their in.  They realize where the child is being held. The key is, they're infiltrating, right? So they both have to put on western style suits and attend among all these British people, and they're being treated like crap.
Tumblr media
Bheem starts getting bullied by this British guy. We know, from watching the movie to this point, that Bheem could kill this man with three of his fingers. Bheem would not break a sweat breaking this guy's entire body in half. But he can't do that; he's undercover. And his best friend Ram is also undercover; they can't turn this into a fight, and they know it.
Tumblr media
Jason: So the evil British guy gives a speech, because they're all dancing, it's a fancy dance for fancy people.  He has had a cultured upbringing in the best British  schools, and knows all these different dance styles, and starts talking as if, "Why do we care that we're erasing this culture? They don't have a culture.  These people just live in mud floor huts, what do they have? What difference does it make if this culture vanishes, if there's nothing to it? They’re savages."
Tumblr media
And then Ram starts playing the drums, and walks up and says, "Yeah, I dunno about any of those dances, have you ever heard Naatu, this dance we do?" And then this dance sequence explodes, as spectacle.
Tumblr media
It starts as an extremely jaunty tune, the lyrics are like, "come, do this dance!" and it's inviting them. And then the song goes faster and faster and faster, and the dancing becomes more and more frantic, because they are in this dance trying to outlast these British guys who are trying to keep up with them. It's a dance-off, but they are dancing for the right of their culture to keep existing. They are dancing because they're trying to say, "We will outlast you. We can dance longer than you. This is the spirit that you're trying to break. Let us show it to you in the form of dance." It is spectacular. The definition of spectacle.
Tumblr media
Dave: It's a violent dance, but just to make sure it's clear, it's a joyful dance. It's fun, it's violently fast and complex, and you look at it like "Geez, that would kill me to try, but the whole time they are smiling. They are having a blast. They get everyone into it at the party. There are people who are genuinely won over by it. Obviously the one British guy isn’t, but it also the idea of, “Not only do we have this, but you f-ing love it.”
Tumblr media
Jason: Yes, that’s the key. All these bystanders start cheering for them because, "oh, they're right!" And Bheem and Ram are smiling and happy the entire time, because they have to be.  You actually see Ram, part of his dance is trying to show the evil British guy -- again, a man who is in the process of genociding his people -- trying to show him the dance, and smiling at him, giving the thumbs up, like "yeah, now you're doing it, now you're doing it!" because he has to. He can't be aggressive there; he has to blend in, like "oh yeah, we're all buddies here, we're all just friends."
Tumblr media
Jason: There's all this subtext, and there's a reason that song got nominated and won the Golden Globe, got nominated for an Academy award, I would bet it will win. ... It is a perfect example of what spectacle can be, in that it is joyful.  It is not showing off technical [effects]; it is showing off a bunch of people who had to train for weeks and choreograph for weeks and have been dancers all their lives because you can't be an Indian cinema superstar without being a great dancer and singer and everything else.

The Overgrowth (Thoughts and Details)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Overgrowth in its first and final stages, along with a visual of Titus’ placement and size comparison when within The Overgrowth.
First Stage
This state occurs directly after Titus absorbs Macride’s powers upon his death. Wood engulfs the upper left side of his body, stretching out from the center of his chest and creating a claw over his hand. Personality-wise, he still acts like Titus (if not more angry and in grief) but there is still a not small chance of him killing you. Not hostile, not not hostile.
Final Stage
This is not the actual Final stage of The Overgrowth, just the final stage Titus ever got to before being defeated. This version is much less Titus-like being more a projection of his grief as he becomes physically weaker inside, growing more and more sick as time goes on. Highly hostile, but still a person deep down (literally).
What would come next?
If The Overgrowth had progressed further, it would not have been good! At some point, Titus would have grown so weak that he would have gone comatose, leaving his grief to enact it’s wrath without a conscience. It would have grown more, before eventually becoming a forest, with Titus’ body suspended in the heart.
Titus would be an anchor for The Overgrowth, fueling it with his grief and desires for violence.
And then, if not stopped, The Overgrowth would spread and inhabit the entire world as planned!
The Sons/Elder Brothers
I never talk much about what exactly The Sons/Elder Brothers bring to the table during this time period, outside of convincing Titus to embrace The Overgrowth and kill people.
All of The Sons are druids, meaning they got shape changing powers, nature magic, blah blah. (Often, when Titus wants to lie about running into The Sons, he will say he ran into a pack of whatever animals they took the form of to come after him in, even if it doesn’t make sense for that specific animal to be in a pack.)
Elder Brother’s Macintosh and Ambrose have their own unique skills on top of Druidic capabilities. Macintosh is intelligent, being very skilled with magic and strategy. He was the best healer on the commune, and in battle he would throw up defensive spells to protect The Overgrowth while also protecting his Brothers.
Ambrose is much more an offense kind of guy, physically strong and skilled with blades, but also has the charisma between him and Macintosh. He’s a jokester, sweet and kind, but will sneak up behind and decapitate you before blasting you with one of the few spells he keeps ready, a giant fireball. Ambrose was the one truly able to convince Titus to follow Macintosh’s plans (which I’ll write and link here)
While The Elder Brothers were fighting, they would often dress as Scarecrows since crows and ravens often swarmed the trapped/ambush-ready areas of the forest. It was an easy way to differentiate themselves from enemies to their Brothers on the battlefield while not allowing the enemy to easily tell which was the Healer and which was the DPS when fighting.

it’s really been a blast to revisist this anime and pick it apart with my shiny new fully developed adult brain and the help of beloved mutuals. I remember it was such an extraordinary experience, watching this for the first time. I couldn’t believe something so good had been out there and I was in my twenties before watching it. I think I knocked it out in a months or something like that. I have both versions of Departure on my phone and I’ve used the anime art for backgrounds and pfps on here and discord. I’ve since read the manga and watched the 1999 anime, but this version is my main experience with it
I started my rewatch last october, got to the end of GI within three months, and then proceeded to take nine months to complete caa 😭 sounds about right, honestly. it’s gotten about 2/3 of all my total posts, even though it’s only half of the show. I don’t know if I’ll ever rewatch this anime - the slog in some arcs really killed me and the differences from the manga are starting to bother me - but I’m really glad I did one more thorough watch. since i started this rewatch, I’ve graduated, gotten a new job, gotten a new browser, moved to a different state, and turned a year older. wild.
In the future I think I’ll stick to the manga version of the story, and also give 99 another spin at some point, if just for the yorknew arc. I’ve seen 2011 three or four times now, and only read the manga once. and now that it’s coming back, this is a great time to start reading the chapters that pick up after the anime ends. whether this will be another lb, I don’t know. I can barely understand DC arc as it is, much less comment on it
finally, if you have ever read any good hxh fic in your life, please please please send it to me. I am NOT searching ao3 but I DO want to imagine my little guys in situations
a BIG thank you to everyone who enjoyed any of my posts, anyone who hasn’t blacklisted my lb tag by now, everyone who’s ever replied to my lbs, and especially jack for thoroughly explaining MANY things that went over my head. lots of love to you all, stay safe and well, enjoy the autumn ❤❤❤❤
