I was walking through a forest mid-autumn and the leaves were changing colors. I happened upon a gentle human-sized grasshopper who wore a suit, a monocle, a top hat and carried a cane. He sang to me, “Now a million bugs begin to take flight,” to the chorus melody of Retrovertigo by Mr. Bungle. Normal sized grasshoppers started to fly out of the leaves on the ground. I woke up.

Been rewatching Spider Riders and aaaa I just need to ramble on about my favourite Bug man Grasshop.
Grasshop starts off as an antagonist, working for Lord Mantid leader of the Invecteds - antagonists of the show although its clear not all invecteds are bad (as it tends to be with war)
any way Grasshop comes off being part of the big 4, basically the top leaders of the Invectid army, and while a questionable choice at times given his rather bumbling and cowardly nature he's not totally without merit. SOme of his plans do actually makes sense/ clever / otherwise can see how it would work had he not been thwarted by out heroes.
But my favourite part he's not just a Soldier following orders, doing what he believes is right (and being manipulated by their leader in the process but that's beside the point) see one of the most interesting aspects we actually learn about him and his motives is the man has a FAMILY.
Grasshop is a husband and father, not only is he doing this for like his people / on a bigger scale but has far more personal motives for following Mantid's orders. This is his job first and foremost - so presumably gets paid and beyond that he just wants to give his family a good life. He wants them to be happy, wants to be someone his kids can look up to and be proud of.
First and foremost he is a family man and honestly is the cutest thing.
Like gonna be honest don't see enough parents/ family oriented characters with that as a motive- beyond just Character lost X family member which now drives them to do Y. WHere as for Grasshop it's more like he's doing Y to prevent losing his family.
All I'm saying is more love for Uncle Hop

To start, I bring Lloyd, our favorite traumatized boy, in his outfit, from the first season.
At LG, when Lloyd was at Darkley he kept the bowl cut for several years, until his expulsion, the time he spent living rough made his hair grow.
