roommate took a stupid selfie and i photobombed it holding up my elvis themed cup. then i redrew it. and then i showed this redraw to my roommate and she said we should name each other Trapper and Hawkeye in our phones. but bc we sleep in the same room and spend all day at the same campus we really only text each other "are you out of class yet" "do you want to get lunch" "are you still in lab bc i want to get sandwiches" "i'm in the cafeteria where are you" "i'm omw to the caf is the food good today?" the lodger's new roommate or the lodger's old roommate, a tale of woe
i mounted them using the forty pound command strips and the lodger ripped them down thrice. message received
also, i'm into site specific maps lately and thinking a lot about hand drawn maps. i drew a map of the roads between my girlfriend's house and mine and i like how it turned out
i treated myself to early solstice presents this week: fancy new earbuds that sound so good, new trail shoes, a pink krink k-42 with an opacity that will make you swoon, and a t-shirt by an artist i like. i am still struggling with wanting stuff
i hosted all four of finn's cats yesterday while pest control treated their building. we had a nice visit. kreg keeps saying she wants to live here but i know she would miss her finnie
it got in the high fifties yesterday. i opened all my windows to let the fresh air flow and did a big clean. it was such a pretty day
i have been writing more poems lately. they are built like tiny verbal wunderkammer and filled with bright treasures i find on my rambles. i think, with practice, they are getting better
i'm making cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and roasted chicken this weekend. a makeup dinner for the traditional thanksgiving feast i missed last month
this year has been so packed full of change for me. a struggle that has plagued me for the last four years ended in a most dramatic way. a brutal passage that i survived, mostly, intact. i wish it could have ended some other way, but at least now, it's finally over

went to watch a video i thought i hadn't seen before and... yep... i guess ive seen it before!
wish i knew people were replying to me lol. they're all from 2 years ago and i wish i could tell some people they've made some incorrect assumptions. there are like multiple people going "oh humanoid pokémon have ALWAYS been a thing! you're like the people that bla bla bla" bro i didn't like them back in gen 1 either! i don't like those designs! lucario is like the most humanoid i can go tbh (and gardevoir before it became clear that she had weird legs)
i think this was also made out of frustration of how in swsh all three starters were very big and more humanoid. most of the time i just avoid pokemon i dont want to use, but it sucks disliking all the starters so much i just box them. in scarlet/violet the humanoid starters dont bother me as much because i have an option to choose something else without boxing my starter!
#like yeah i mainly meant the newer ones#because they straight up look like people in costumes#but i didn't like machamp and stuff either#i mainly just dislike them when they're TALL#like lucario is fine because he's so short#it still reads as pet because of that#and like you know the gorilla pokémon are gonna be gorilla shaped and tall#and that's fine#but just like#it's weird when they're taller than me#and can drink a beverage from a mug in the intended wau
