“A thousand lifetimes Hero, we had to fall in love at some point,” she said softly. Going on her tiptoes, she kissed his cheek. “Good night.”

Lenarius freezes.
“Ah, yes, I suppose it is understandable that you would ask that. You wish to know if I will be a liability in the field. I can assure you that it won’t be a hindrance to our missions.
“I’m not hesitating because I am ashamed of it. To the contrary, I have always striven to create a safe environment free of stigma towards trauma and other psychological issues. It’s just that this particular phobia of mine is tied to another personal matter.”
S/he sighs. “I wasn’t always afflicted with acrophobia. In fact, I used to love going up to my family’s guard tower and look up at the stars. I used to dream of flying into the night sky and learning all their mysteries…
“The official story is that I accidentally fell off that tower and nearly fell to my death. They say that I teleported myself to safety with a burst of uncontrolled magic. The truth was that I stepped off the ledge in attempt to take my own life. I just felt that everyone would be happier if I was gone…”
S/he winces. “I immediately regretted it. All I can remember is the ground coming out from under me and the primal fear of my impending death and screaming and wanting nothing more than to please not die. I don’t remember how I survived. I fainted some time during my fall. I…think they were telling the truth about my magic saving my life. I don’t have any reason not to.
“The thing about all of this is that it’s not the falling that I’m afraid of. It’s the idea that if I get too close to an edge, I may be tempted once more to take the next step, and I wouldn’t be able to stand it…”

ok ok thats a vERY sweet design; i love the bodyshape and style, the proportions are quite cute and the coloring is very nice! the mask and hood is a wonderfull combo, makes for a lovely combo! that's a 9/10 for sure!

97%. How good is your characters sense of direction? Do they oftentimes get lost or are they good at finding their way around?
I would say Darren has an excellent sense of direction, never gets lost and can get around anywhere (even a new world!). Darren comes from a place where getting lost will get you killed. He comes from a place where just being on the wrong block might get you jumped. So he learned direction very early and has taught that to all his children.

Would Mel un-alive himself if he got handed over to main fleet? Or would he think he deserves whatever Torture happens to him?

he'd be pretty resigned to it and be in a very dark place mentally (which he'd have a very difficult time coming back from if he were to be freed/rescued), but it's unlikely he'd do that
A big part of him is terrified of death and will always be clinging to the hope that 'maybe I can still fix things. maybe I can do something right before I die' no matter how low that chance is
(case in point, in the first flashback arc, he has a chance to just jump out a window but chooses to go back with Mercury instead)
If anything, he'd just... give up. End up dying during an interrogation or from an illness due to his body not being strong enough to take it anymore
