He Sees You When You're Sleeping
For once in what felt like forever the house was quiet, it was calm. You, Trunks, and Goten were in the living room, your brother and Goten quiet as they concentrated on untangling the strings of lights. Your mother had given it to you as a task, but once she left to make hot chocolate, you quickly planted the lights in Trunks’ lap, opting to organize the tree ornaments.
“This is stupid,” He was mumbling to himself, and it took all your strength not to laugh at his apparent struggles. Instead, you covered your snort with a cough, though judging from his side glare, it was safe to say he still got the message.
“You’re doing great guys,” You encouraged them, smiling as he poked his tongue out aggressively at you, before his concentration shifted as he and Goten started to make a breakthrough.
You could hear your mom and grandmother in the kitchen, soft music playing through one of your mother’s homemade speakers. You had just gotten into a nice rhythm of organizing when your father walked in, sweaty as he was leaving the gravity chamber, and he paused in the doorway, eyeing the two of you curiously.
“What on earth are the pair of you doing?”
“Getting ready to decorate the Christmas tree,” You replied cheerfully, holding up some ornaments to emphasize your point.
Trunks nor Goten were paying attention, too focused on making sure they didn’t re-tangle the previously tangled knot of lights. Your father looked unamused as the two hurried to start wrapping the lights around the tree.
“You earthlings and your holidays. You all seem to just enjoy excuses to receive material items.”
You couldn’t fully argue with him there, opting to shrug as the boys worked on reaching the top of the tree. They moved a bit too quickly, and there would be gaps in the lights, but it was endearing to see them so excited about this.
“Do you wanna help us, dad?” Trunks landed with a proud look on his face, Goten landing next to him, excited as he rushed to grab an ornament from you.
Your father scoffed, “No.”
Trunks rolled his eyes, souring at your father's answer. “This is why Santa doesn’t bring you presents, dad. You’re like Scrouge.”
“You mean Scrooge?” Goten looked puzzled at the jab, and Trunks paused, embarrassed at being corrected.
“Yeah. Whatever.”
“Who is this… Santa? And why would he bring presents?”
The three of you looked at him, mixtures of confusion, bafflement, and amusement.
“You don’t know who Santa is?” Goten spoke first, eyes impossibly wide.
Your father merely tsk’ed, already annoyed with the topic at hand. You were astonished, to say the least. How had your father been on earth as long as he had and hadn’t learned who Santa was? You didn’t expect him to necessarily believe, but at least know of him.
“He’s Santa Claus,” You started to explain, knowing full well both Trunks and Goten still believed in him, courtesy of your mother and mother-in-law, “He uh, he watches the kids of the world. If they’re nice he brings them presents on Christmas.”
“If we’re naughty we get coal!”
Trunks laughed, “Yeah dad! You gotta help us or else you’ll get coal for Christmas.”
Your father remained quiet, though his gaze didn’t move from you. You could feel a bead of sweat forming on your scalp— why were you getting the infamous Vegeta stare-down? Trunks was the one goading him.
“There’s an earthling that just… watches the children of this planet, and judges them?”
“Well I mean,” He sounded dangerous, and you were floundering with your words, wishing your mother was here to explain better than you could, “Yeah?”
“Not just kids,” Trunks started to butt in, and as much as you loved your younger brother, he needed to keep his mouth shut, “He still brings (Y/N) gifts!”
“He watches you as well?”
“Well. I suppose? It’s just like— it’s what he does. He—”
“It’s like the song!” Goten supplied cheerfully, “He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows if you’ve been bad or good—”
“Thank you, Goten,” You cut him off with a smile, “You— I think my dad gets the point.”
In the kitchen, Bulma and Pancy were talking, hushed voices discussing the gifts that they had gotten, what had yet to be bought, and what plans they had coming up. Bulma was excited, holidays were always a special thing, even when she was younger. As she’s gotten older, she’s had more people to celebrate with. Going from her, her sister, and her parents, to the large family she’s created has been a gift in itself.
She was finishing up adding little toppings to the hot chocolate when you came into the kitchen, almost crashing through the doorway, panic evident on your face.
Pancy coo’ed, “What’s wrong dear?”
“Uh— mom I think you need to diffuse dad.”
“What happened?” She sounded more annoyed than afraid, knowing whatever it was that set her husband off could boil down to something as simple as Goten making a comment about his father.
“He learned who Santa is,” You stood up, wringing your hands together nervously, and Bulma placed the tray of hot chocolate down, “And he is not exactly too happy about the idea of a strange man stalking his kids.”
She sighed, running a hand through her hair, before motioning for you to walk. The pair of you made your way into the living room, Panchy offering to finish the drinks for when the events were over. In the living room, Trunks and Goten looked more panicked than you had, trying to calm Vegeta down.
“Vegeta— what is going on?” Your mother’s voice was loud and demanding, and Vegeta turned to her quickly.
“You mean to tell me you have been aware of a grown man stalking the earth’s children all year, and then deciding to play judge, jury, and executioner during the Christmas holiday?”
Oh, you hadn’t been kidding.
“Well,” When he puts it like that it does sound a bit creepy, “Didn’t you celebrate holidays on your planet?”
“We celebrated births, wars, conquers, and deaths. But we didn’t have our children being watched by some fat creep throughout the year!” He turned gold quickly, the blast of his energy knocking over the tree.
You watched it with a sad expression— at least you hadn’t placed any ornaments on it yet. Nothing was shattered or broken.
“Vegeta,” Your mom sighed, “It’s not like how you’re thinking—”
“If he just watches children, tell me, why does (Y/N) get gifts? She’s an adult— you mean to tell me he watches her as well?”
You closed your eyes, burying your face into your hands to muffle your groan. Why hadn’t your mother told him about Santa years ago? This day would have been peaceful.
“She’s still young enough to get gifts from Santa.”
“So he still watches her, does he?”
Bulma cocked a hip, eyeing him with curiosity and annoyance, “I— yes?”
“She is a married woman,” He all but growled that out, still sore that his eldest had married Goku’s oldest, “And he lays his eyes on her in the privacy of her own home.”
“Okay, dad—”
“That is not what he does—”
“What is he talking about?” Trunks turned to Goten, watching as the energy of his mom and older sister shifted from annoyance to embarrassment.
Goten merely shrugged in response, “Your dad’s not going to go kill Santa, is he?”
“He’s not in the North Pole right now,” Trunks shook his head, arms crossed as he answered like this was the most obvious thing in the world, “He could be at any of the malls around the world visiting kids. He can’t waste time searching for him.”
“Oh, he visits malls now does he?” Vegeta turned his gaze to the two of them.
“Yeah, we went to see him last week,” Trunks answered, pointing to the mantle piece where your mom had printed out the picture of the two of you with Santa.
Your mom had insisted the pair of you wear matching red and white outfits, and though they were itchy, the trip to visit Santa had been fun, refreshing almost. However, with the way your father’s mind was rearing, seeing a photo of his children, one perched on Santa’s lap, the other leaning against his side, was enough to seal the deal: he had to kill Santa.
“I told him what I wanted for Christmas, he even knows our names!” Trunks looked so proud, Santa had in fact told him he’d been a good boy that year.
“Trunks!” You couldn’t help but hiss his name at him, and he looked confused as to why you were scolding him.
“Okay, Vegeta,” Your mom pinched the bridge of her nose, “Calm down.”
“I will not calm down,” He seethed, “This man holds too much power, and to hold it over our children? I will not allow such a thing.”
“Dad,” You sighed, “It’s a normal thing! Christmas is a widely celebrated holiday, Santa visits all those who celebrate it and—”
“So he’ll be visiting our home then, correct?”
“Yes, but—”
“Good,” Thankfully, he powered down, his energy decreasing, blonde fading the black, “I shall wait for him then.”
“Oh boy,” Your mother sighed.
“When he enters our home, which as I’ve learned is considered breaking and entering, I shall challenge him. Any man able to travel the entire planet in one night must contain an immense level of power.”
“Oh my,” You turned towards your mother, exasperated, “Mom!”
“Vegeta,” She pats you on the back, “I need to talk to you. In the kitchen.” Your father scoffed, arms crossing over his chest, but he moved to walk to the kitchen nonetheless, “You three— clean this up.”
“We didn’t make the mess,” Trunks whined, but Goten moved to prop up the tree and defeated, Trunks helped him.
Your parents left for the kitchen, hopefully, your mother would explain to him that Santa was in the face, not real, so there was no immortal man stalking the children of the world. You cringed a bit— it does sound a bit creepy when explained like that.
A knock echoed from the door, and a moment later Gohan was walking in, a large smile on his face. It faded when he saw the boys struggling with the tree and the stressed look on your face.
“What happened?” He stepped forward almost cautiously, moving to wrap his arms around you, “I thought you all were just tree decorating?”
“Dad learned who Santa was today,” Your voice was muffled from where you had buried your face in his shirt.
“Oh,” He nodded in understanding, “I assume he didn’t like the idea of him?”
“He’s gonna try and fight Santa when he comes to deliver our presents,” Trunks supplied from where he was in the air, trying to help Goten steady the tree once more.
“Oh?”
Goten looked over at his big brother, “Do you think Mr. Vegeta’s gonna try and kill Santa?”
“If he does I hope I’m still on the good list,” Trunks looked stressed, “I’m not the one trying to kill him.”
Gohan laughed, “Relax buddy, your dad’s not going to kill Santa.”
“Our dad really likes Santa,” Goten floated over to you, and though you had grown more than used to the group of Saiyans using their powers around you, having Goten or Trunks fly up to be eye level with you was always funny, “He didn’t know who Santa was when he came back from the dead! Mom had to tell him, and when he first met him dad was really excited!”
“Oh yeah?” You side-eyed your husband who snorted, “Yeah. Guess it makes sense that Vegeta didn’t know about Santa, but it was surprising with dad.”
From the kitchen, a very loud, “What?” echoed throughout the house, and you had a hunch that, if your dad didn’t like the idea of Santa, he liked the realization of being fooled even less.
“I think it would have been easier to let him fight one of the mall Santas,” You muttered to Gohan, watching as Goten and Trunks plugged the lights in, marveling at their own handy work.
“Don’t say that,” He looked amused despite the worry in his voice, “Can you imagine that poor worker?”
You laughed, it proved to make a funny sight. Though you knew the poor minimum wage worker wouldn’t stand a chance against your father. Family Christmas fighting the law doesn’t sound like a good way to end the year.

Saiyans w/ Babies Headcanons
☆☆ Pairing: character x female reader ( black & non-black )
☆☆ Content: implied established relationship. gendered babies. good/bad parenting headcanons. fluff. familial / storge love. how the baby has their canon siblings is up to you. ♥
Goku — It's a girl!
He is a coddler, always ready to take care of her. He wants to do everything for the baby, hold her everywhere they go, push her stroller, fill quiet spaces with her giggles, take bubble baths together, and play with her every second of the day. Goku will jump to do anything she needs. Except maybe change her diaper. But he won't put up a fuss if he has to do it. Nap times are hard for him but he understands the importance of your baby needing her sleep. Sometimes he falls asleep watching her if he's 100% sure it's safe. It's a miracle when they wear themselves out and nap together. He tends to get antsy if he's away from her for too long. He will use the phone Bulma gave him to call you so he can talk to her when he misses her (unfortunately it doesn't work in outer space). It's only natural that once she starts to show signs of her power he's going to want to start training her, but will wait until she's old enough to talk and walk before really pushing for it. You keep little reminders around the kitchen of how much she is allowed to eat at a time to prevent overfeeding her, but sometimes Goku gives her just a little extra. A child of his must have a healthy appetite just as he does.
If existing siblings: Goten is just another Goku, very playful with his little sister and tries to show her all the games he and Gohan use to play when he was little. Gohan around his time is busy with school/work, but when he does come around he joins in on the old games. He will offer to babysit her to give you and Goku a break, also so Videl can spend time with her too. Expect some training to really start by the time she's 4 or 5.
Cons- Goku is not helpful at night or if the baby is ill. Goku is a heavy sleeper, by the time his brain reacts to the baby crying in the middle of the night, you've already got a handle on it. He will at least stay up to help where he can as he is sympathetic to her crying. But if she is sick, then he's not sure what medicine he is supposed to give her or if she has to go to the hospital.
Vegeta — It's a girl!
His baby is a clinger. Strong, little hands that hold onto everything and don't do well with separation. Of course Vegeta cares for his child but tends to be hesitant actually holding her because of it and the fuss that follows when he pries her hands off. But he will still hold her every time, getting used to his ear and the skin of his cheek being pulled. It excites him knowing that his baby girl has this kind of natural strength and can only imagine what kind of latent power she'll develop as she grows. If she's only half-saiyan, he is the one who makes the call to remove her tail while she's still young. It's a bittersweet decision, but he knows it's a safety precaution for her and you. Definitely one to brag about his baby. Vegeta actually panics if the baby is sick or if she has a small fall that bumps her head and will take it out on others regardless of blame. Because of the baby's clingy behavior, it could be hard for him to leave anywhere or to go train. Unless it's a dire situation, he knows that the moment she sees him leaving she's going to cry and he'll feel guilty. Depending on where you all go in public, Vegeta will be standing very close to the stroller or he will insist on carrying the sleeping baby everywhere while you handle things.
If existing siblings: Trunks is the most protective of his younger siblings and loves to see his family grow. Bulla loves having a little sister the most and tries to play dress up with her. The two girls will get the last say on things as Trunks (being the only son) will get outvoted. Like her older siblings, your daughter will have more distinct features that resemble you but like Trunks will have a scowl just like her father. Trunks and Bulla were also clingy babies so Vegeta most likely already has practice dealing with it and learns to keep small toys for gripping so he can hold her without the fussing or those tiny nails scratching him up. Future Trunks would be ecstatic to know he is a big brother and it will make more determined to protect a world and future where she would be safe too.
Cons- He gets frustrated when he can't soothe her. Sometimes babies just cry and when he can't figure it out he lets his temper get the best of him. Sometimes raising his voice at the baby and immediately regrets it when it scares her. That's when you have to take over and let him get out of the house. He will try to make up for it after he's calmed down or had some time to train again.
Broly — It's a boy!
The smiliest little guy you've ever seen and a spitting image of his father with skin and colorful eyes reflecting light like yours. Broly never saw this amount of joy in being a parent for himself. He was happy to know you were pregnant with his child, but to see the baby for the first time made him very emotional, realizing that he officially has become a father. He was given another person of his own to cherish and love. A family! Because he can't really talk to the baby, Broly mimics all the little things you do to show your love: stacking kiss upon kiss to his cheek until he giggles, playing peek-a-boo with a blanket, and humming to him. It's the most gentle he can ever remember himself being. If he could he would sit from sun up to sun down holding his son without moving an inch. He loves to hold him when he sleeping the most and wrap him in Ba's ear, but it does make it difficult for you when you need to lay him down for a nap or for the night. Broly's really out of his element and has to be shown the right way to hold him, feed him and change him. Absolutely hates being separated from his son longer than a day or two, but he does have his own training to work on and is twice as focused on it knowing he has his son to protect. Broly can't wait until he's big enough to play with.
Cons- He is too overprotective. Aside from your family, Cheelai, Lemo, Goku, and Vegeta, he's not letting anyone else get close to his son while he's so young. Not even Lord Beerus. He can also be helpless and get worked up if he cannot calm his crying child or help them while he's sick. He blames himself for it if it starts when he's with him. Until his son starts to show signs of his power being like his, Broly is not letting anyone remove his tail either and will become short-tempered when it gets brought up. He just wants to give his son a chance to live like everyone else in a safe place and without being judged by things he may do instead of what he can do.
Raditz — It's a boy!
Overall he has a very well-tempered baby boy who one would think rarely cries, but he's also prone to the worse temper tantrums. Raditz both likes and dislikes it, a sign that his son is a strong and healthy saiyan, but the fact that you won't allow him to stick your baby in a nursery pod when he's fussy can make the crying a bit excessive on his nerves. He learns to get used to it since it's not often. Often holds his baby on his shoulder with one hand, whether resting stomach-down while he's sleeping or supporting his back so he can sit up there. He tries to carry him with his tail but you ask him many times not to do that while he's so small or the pressure may make him puke up, so instead he does it when the baby is lying down next to him. The more mobile the baby is on his own, the more he is able to really bond and play with him. You can catch them both crawling after each other, chasing the other down in a fit of laughter. Raditz's son starts to show early signs of his saiyan abilities ( flight mostly ) which can lead to them sometimes playing a little rougher, but they sleep it off together, passing out in odd positions where they fall.
Cons- He puts too many expectations on his child, comparing his development to his own childhood. Raditz is not very helpful or handy with a newborn/infant stage which could leave you dealing with the baby alone throughout that stage. Even with saiyan blood coursing through his body, you have to remind Raditz that you're not raising your child for war and he would have to wait for him to get a little older before you were comfortable with him training him. Like Vegeta, he tends to lose his temper when he can't soothe a tantrum from crying and will distance himself to get some peace.
Bardock — It's a girl!
And a very independent-behaving child. Bardock most likely was not present during those early stages or to see his baby girl born, but she's still small enough that he can interact with her without feeling lost in what he should do to bond with her. He talks to her like she's another adult and she smiles at him like she understands but knows it mostly goes over her head unless he mentions some familiar words that perk her up. Bardock is more interactive with her when he's just gotten back home from his missions, she often gets to greet him before you and that immediately lightens his mood from all the troubles that follow him home. He'll carry her around more or let her ride on his shoulders, gift her with souvenirs from other planets, and play with her. However, Bardock does tend to get restless and can't focus on much until he's leaving out for his next mission. If there is one thing he would try to teach her is how to master her Great Ape form, he himself being one of few who are able to control himself in it.
If existing siblings: The baby would probably see Kakarot and Raditz as much as they see Bardock. Bardock is actually relieved to have a daughter instead of another son, a part of him knows that there would be more roles for her to stay on the planet than venture out and claim some planet for Frieza. Especially if she is weaker. He can't really help that with his two boys, but he doesn't want his little girl going out unnecessarily. Even if she would be as fierce a warrior, there had to be more she could do than live the life of a low-class warrior. It may be a while before she gets to really bond with her big brothers. Raditz would point out some favoritism for her over himself and Kakarot and come to resent her a little but the latter will probably not think much of her. If she's half-saiyan, then "Goku" would indeed be her best friend and treat her like she's his own kid but she may not have that chance with Raditz.
Cons- Bardock does put his lifestyle before his child and would not be very present. He is a man stuck in his ways as a low-class saiyan warrior and he has to answer the calling. Spending time with you and his daughter is him mostly biding time for the next mission, so while he does get to see her and become familiar with her budding personality, you will mostly be raising her alone. He does still cherish the moments with his daughter.
Gohan — It's twin boys!
He definitely didn't see that coming, but he has a bright pair of twin baby boys! Gohan is very attentive to his babies since he's handling two at a time. It's not like helping his mom with Goten at all. He has mixed them up before but the more they grow into their features, the more he can tell them apart. Sensing their ki also helps. Gohan takes a lot of time away from school/work to help you with the twins. At least until they are a little older. He knows he's going to have to put in some extra effort to catch up or even to get the position he wants when he goes back but his priority is to you and his family right now. Even with help from his grandfather, parents, and little brother, he wants to be sure he's there for these early stages of their lives. Gohan has the best support system when Piccolo is also factored in that he can have a healthy work/life balance, but he doesn't think about it when he's reading his twins to sleep, washing their hair before bed, or feeding them breakfast in the morning. You actually have to convince Gohan to go back to work/school ( with Chi Chi's encouragement as well ) once the babies are bigger and you can manage them on your own. He will show off all the pictures he took of them to his colleagues and video chat every lunch break so he can eat with them. The twins show off a level of intelligence beyond their development sometimes and it's chalked up to just there being two of them or even linked to their saiyan biology but it can make them a little mischievous.
If existing siblings: Big sister Pan is a big helper to her little brothers. She can't wait for them to get old enough to start training with her and Piccolo. She takes her older sibling responsibility very seriously and will help you and Gohan anywhere she can. Gohan would like to think from raising Pan and his own little brother that he has all the experience he needs to handle his twins but they wise up quickly and show they can be a handful.
Cons- Gohan is a pushover and gives the babies anything they want. He gets reprimanded for it by everyone, but he really can't help it! Two heads working against him tend to make him cave to their little demands and he can end up spoiling them. But it makes him happy to make them happy.

I hope you don't mind, but the Gohan x Baby!Reader melted my heart with cuteness, you captured Gohan's character perfectly! Just make me want more 😂 I liked how you have the reader is more on the quiet side. Can you do a Gohan x Baby!Reader where Gohan introduces them to everyone (Goku, Krillin, etc), especially to Pan?

Everyone's been begging to meet you, Gohan finally caves.
✨✨✨✨
“Hey, Pan. Come meet your new sibling!” Videl encourages after the now oldest child lets go of her father.
The girl inches closer to her mother and the bundle in her arms.
Pan blinks for a moment in surprise, “Oh, hi, there.”
Your gaze at your sister, taking her in for a moment before your gaze drifts away, not quite strong enough to focus completely yet.
Pan frowns in worry, “Are the baby’s eyes okay?”
Videl giggles, “Mhm. The baby’s a newborn, the eye muscles have to get stronger. The vision has to get better, too.”
“Oh, so there’s nothing wrong?” she glanced back down at you.
“No, a perfectly healthy baby.”
Pan brushes a finger against your jaw, smiling when you grab at it in curiosity.
“Did you name the baby yet?”
Gohan approached them, joining his daughter in giving the baby affection, “We actually went with the name you thought of, Pan.”
Her eyes sparkled, “Really? You went with [Name]?”
“Why not? You were the most excited out of all of us,” he smiled.
Videl ruffled her hair, “And you made sure to take such good care of me.”
Gohan chuckled, “Yes, you did! ‘Mom, be careful with that, don’t hurt the baby!’”
“I wasn’t that bad!”
“You were a little worry wart, but it was adorable, don’t worry.”
Videl raised a brow, “You weren’t that much better than her, sweetheart.”
Pan tickled your chin, “[Name]’s really quiet for a baby.”
“Like father, like child.”
Gohan crossed his arms, hiding a grin, “Says you, you and Pan are practically clones.”
“But it’s okay…that just means it my job to protect [Name], right?” Pan grinned with determination.
Gohan nodded, “That’s right—Yeeeow!”
He cringed at his red finger, holding it in agony.
Videl could only laugh, “Guess [Name]’s telling you they can protect themselves, Gohan.”
“Clearly…”
Once everyone hears Videl is home, they’re all eager to meet you.
But Gohan wants to wait, until bright lights or loud sounds won’t affect you as strongly…because his family can be loud.
Mainly, Goku and his Father-in-law.
Really, those are the only people he’s worried about.
But Piccolo is the first to meet you before anyone else.
First, that’s his father-figure…and he already would babysit Pan, so you got added to the deal.
Which was a big deal for you, since this was the first alien being you would see that didn’t look like the average human.
But honestly, you were more curious than startled like Gohan worried you might be.
Piccolo immediately had a liking for you, he enjoyed that you were quiet. It gave him a little break from the wildness of Pan’s adventurous side as a girl fresh out of toddler-ville.
Even though, you had a few moments of randomly powering up, you never got reckless.
He didn’t mind when you would play with his ears or randomly grab up his fingers.
He made sure to be gentle so he never poked you with his nails. But the one time he did, you only jumped, rather than break into tears like he’d expected.
There was a worry something was wrong when you didn’t cry for much, but the doctor assured them you were healthy, the noise might have just startled you, so you avoided it.
But then you did cry for the first time.
Piccolo was playing with you while Pan napped.
He would never admit how soft he was for the two of you.
But then Gohan came back and Piccolo thought he’d go ahead and go.
But you didn’t take your game being interrupted so well.
You bawled, crying out for the Namekian.
Gohan blinked in surprise, while Piccolo sighed and picked you up.
Your crying quieted after a moment and you begun to mess with the hand sitting loosely on your stomach.
“Looks like [Name] really likes you Piccolo,” Gohan smiled.
“Yeah, I noticed.”
This promoted the crew to get a little offended.
“How come Piccolo’s already met [Name] tons of times but all we’ve seen are pictures?” Bulma complained.
“I’m your Mother for goodness sakes!” Chi-Chi reasoned.
Gohan rubbed his neck, “Mom, no offense, but you on your own aren’t the quietest person, let alone when you’re with dad…”
It went like this until you were hitting close to being three months old.
“Fine, I’ll bring [Name] by the next time we all meet up.”
☆*: .｡. .｡.:*☆
“Aw…my grandbaby…” Chi-Chi cooed.
“So cute, definitely will be getting spoiled,” Bulma giggled.
“The little one is pretty quiet,” 18 observed.
Krillin chuckled, “Just like the dad.”
“Vegeta, come see the baby,” Bulma quietly called over.
“We’ve already had an exchange,” he crossed his arms.
✨✨✨✨✨
Vegeta scrutinized you from the temporary crib you laid in.
“So, you’re the little infant everyone’s been going crazy over? You look like any other child I’ve seen.”
“[Name], is it? I suppose the name isn’t terrible. I personally would have given you a name suitable of a Saiyan, but to each his own. You are also human after all.”
Your eyes flutter open at the foreign voice, you seem to take him in with a tilt of your head.
He glares at you, “What? Think I’m not worthy enough to be in your presence?”
But you simply smile at him and make a noise that was giggle-like.
“You think an…adorable smile will deter me, Prince Vegeta? What is your angle here?”
You find your finger more convincing than his intimidation and decide to taste the weird thing.
“Who am I kidding? You’re putting a damn finger in your mouth—But that power level…”
He chuckled, “Oh, Gohan’s going have a hell of a time with you during the terrible two’s.”
He gently moved your finger from your mouth, “You’ll get sick from all the germs there. I’m doing you a favor.”
Then you take interest in his finger, grabbing it quicker than he can pull away.
“Impressive reaction time. Ow, hey! That isn’t very polite.”
You give him an innocent look, squeezing his thumb harder, giggling again at the yelp he produced.
“You little brat. Let go! You’re definitely Kakarot’s grandchild…”

“I like having all my fingers. So, I will keep my distance,” he gazed at you with distrust, while you babbled.
Chi-Chi blinked in confusion with the others.
“Well, your loss,” Bulma shrugged.
Gohan shivered, “Don’t worry, I understand completely, Vegeta.”
Trunks quickly took your attention and Goten joined him, “Hey, hurry and get big so we can play together, okay?”
“Take your time. Trunks might be a little too rough—Ow!” Goten gripped his bicep.
“Hey, don’t ruin my rep with [Name] already, we just met,” Trunks pouted.
“Not so loud, boys.”
“Sorry…”
Then you met Tien, which you seemed to like, then Yamcha, which you found confusing.
He made so many strange faces, which left you unimpressed and confused as to which one was his.
But perhaps you weren’t used to him yet, so that was why.
Then you met your maternal grandfather.
Now, he…startled you.
He had a loud approach to you, so you ended up pouting.
“Dad, quiet, please.”
“Sorry, Honey-pumpkin…”
Then Goku arrived, “Hey, guys! Sorry, I’m late, I—”
“Shhh!”
“Tough crowd.”
“Goku, be quiet before your grandchild loses their hearing!” Chi-Chi whisper shouted.
“Oh, [Name]’s here?”
You titled you head in curiosity, his face looked familiar, then you looked across from you to your father.
You made whining sound as your gaze switched between them in confusion.
Goku smiled and came closer, “Hey, there. It’s nice to meet ya’ [Name].”
You reached out in curiosity, surely a man that looked like the man you were most familiar with couldn’t be too scary, right?
“Please don’t drop the baby, Goku…” Chi-Chi watched, on edge as Goku held you.
“Sheesh, have a little faith in me, hun.”
You decided to explore his hair first, surprisingly gentle for an infant.
“You like it, huh?” he blinked when your other hand ran down his face, “Curious one, aren’t you?”
You gripped his hair in one hand and his head in the other, climbing up his head, “Whoa! Careful.”
He reached his arms up, holding you securely, “[Name]’s strong Gohan. Like Pan.”
“Yeah, I’ve noticed.”
“Maybe I should get to training, [Name].”
“You are not about to train our--practically three-month-old--grandchild how to fight! You already have Pan, let [Name] get an education first!” Chi-Chi protested.
Sitting on Goku’s head, you fold over, meeting his eyes upside down.
“Hi!” he gently tickles your sides, earning a hearty giggle from you.
You reach down, grabbing something from the collar of his Gi.
“Hm? Oh, I don’t think that’ll taste very good.”
“Goku, [Name] can’t eat food yet.”
He attempted to take the pea from you, surprised by your grip.
“Goodness--wants the pea more than I do.”
Goku finally took the pea from your fingers, soothing your whines for it.
“You can’t have it yet. Don’t worry, I’ll save it for you.”
“Dad, you can’t save a pea for that long.”

PLEASE TALK MORE ABOUT GOBUL I LOVE THEM TO PIECES OH MY GOD...
Sure!
I really *like* Goku x Bulma. I think there is a very sweet “childhood friends to lovers” aspect behind them, and Bulma shows a lot of concern and love for him as a friend that I think translates into more quite easily.
To be clear I’m NOT on the Chi-Chi hate train, because I think there are valid af reasons for her acting the way she does because of who she is as a person. There are times when she is annoying, yes, but these are exaggerated and flanderized to stupid levels by “fans” (and also by the show itself from time to time — the Cell Games arc springs to mind).
The thing is, I think because of who Bulma is, these things would just… not be present. Chi-Chi needs Goku to work and her kids to study because that’s the idyllic family life she wants and you do need to work to make money to live, even in the weird, quasi-feudal world of Dragon Ball.
But that problem… doesn’t exist for Bulma. She’s like…Tony Stark. She’s heir and later president of Capsule Corp, she’s the richest woman on the planet. Vegeta doesn’t work or do chores, why would he? So… Goku would be free to live the life he wants AND live it with his lifelong friend. I don’t remember it being mentioned that she’s an incredible cook for him like Chi-Chi, but who cares, she’ll just hire fuckin’ Dragon Ball Gordon Ramsay to cook for him every night. Or she’ll build a robot that can do it. She’s Bulma, she’ll manage.
I also think Goku would be affectionate back to her. First off, he does like spending time with his wife in canon and gets a little sweet with her, so Super’s odd notion that he doesn’t know what kissing is aside, I think we can assume he can be affectionate. Maybe not MASSIVELY so, but he can be.
Secondly moments with that are often undercut with Chi-Chi being angry for comedic reasons. See the Flanderization of her character I mentioned above. And while I do think that’s still going to happen with Bulma—she can whine rant and bitch with the best of ‘em and I love her so much for it — there’s going to be… less of that? To a degree? Goku coming in from training will probably be met with a “GO SHOWER, YOU STINK” but there likely won’t be too much upset about mud or setting a bad example for his son. She’ll watch him go and admire how hot her husband looks.
That brings me to the main reason I like to muse about this pairing — in Dragon Ball, when couples hook up, they have kids. Every major main character couple has done it. So obviously “Gohan” would be born to Bulma.
See, after Bulma, Trunks is my favourite Dragon Ball character. Specifically his future self, but I liked grown up GT Trunks too (in theory)… so thinking about the character that would replace him gets me thinking…
I’m imaging a son (though a Daughter would be cool AF but anyway…) and I like to think they’d be called a play on “Fundoshi” (traditional Japanese Underwear) or “Mawashi” (Sumo Wrestler Underwear) or something that blends the Asian Mythology from Goku with the Underwear theming of Bulma… or we could just call him “Singlet” or hell… maybe he’s just “Trunks”— I think it’s obvious Bulma isn’t that interested in letting her husbands name their kids (see Super with Bulla/Bra).
And he fundamentally changes just about every part of DBZ and Super when you think about it. Namek especially. But all of it. And you gotta think while the kid WILL have a study program it’s gonna be so different to Chi-Chi’s “HIT THE BOOKS” approach, and Bulma would for sure be like:
“Huh? What? Yeah sure sweetie, go train with Dad. Mom needs to finish fixing this perpetual energy generator. Here, actually, take the radar and tell Dad he needs to bring me the Dragon Balls! Call it a boys day out! Father-Son bonding!… Mamma needs a facelift anyway…”
It’s that. That gets me. That question: “What would be different about this series of Bulma and Goku had a kid instead of Gohan existing?”
I’ll spare you my thoughts on that but basically I think Bulma and Goku would make not just a cute, but very interesting couple narratively.

Magenta fucking bullshitting the whole idea of Bulma having an evil organization and plotting an alien invasion is hilarious 😂
The throwback/reanimated scene of future Trunks vs Freiza and King Cold! The nostalgia!

Honestly I like how this is the reason for why Goku and Vegeta are not in this movie or the fights. I’m glad they didn’t show up into the fight because if they did I’m pretty sure the fight would’ve been over sooner. This is a Piccolo and Gohan movie, as much as I love them, we don’t need Goku and Vegeta.
Can I just say how much I absolutely love Gamma 1 and 2? I love G2’s upbeat want to be superhero persona and I love how G1 completes him by being more serious.
Piccolo “kidnapping” Pan for the Red Ribbon Army so he can get Gohan back into his training and encourage him into his old ways as a fighter. I also love how Pan was playing along and having fun with it.
I absolutely love Piccolo and Pan’s dynamic. It’s so sweet and adorable.

Dragon Ball Super Super Hero AAAAA
I got to see the new movie in the theater today so it's finally time for spoiler coverage! I was going to get a picture with my ticket, but the online purchase QR didn't get us any... Anyway, onto the movie.
I really enjoyed this movie! It was really nice to see the B-Team become the A-Team in this one- it's always the Goku and Vegeta Show so this was a nice breath of fresh air.
Really cute fluffiness abounds with Pan and Piccolo, who seems to be playing the job of second dad since Gohan can't seem to be able to pick up his own kid from school. He did have his redeeming dad points and this guy just wants to nerd out about his Super Saiyants.
Love that Piccolo pretty much got forcibly indoctrinated in to the penguin nya cat collection- "ONE WAS ENOUGH" can't stop Gohan and Videl from giving him more plushies. And his super hearing unfortunately comes in handy for hearing his meow meow ringtone a mile away. It's even his phone case for his phone that he holds like a boomer. Had to stop my bro from starting to hold his phone like that after the movie.
Also the cute little detail that Piccolo has to remind Videl that he sustains on water- and Pan keeps a spare bottle for him!
Gotta sprinkle some love on the Gammas, they're even more fun than I imagined, dig their vibe even as background elements. And the comic book sfx weren't just stylization they were actually VISIBLE in canon. Sad that we lost my favorite, Gamma 2- he was the real super hero (almost thought he was going to get 16 bootstomped)
The Red Ribbon propaganda saying that Capsule Corp is a front for space alien invasion, wow
The Goku and Vegeta sections were also pretty enjoyable- they figured out Jiren! Meanwhile, they're giving Broly lessons in temper control, so glad it wasn't giving him Blue. Plus, it's a way for him, Lemo and Cheelai to lay low away from Frieza. Seems Lemo's the cook of the operation (so good that Whis almost got fired- "I can't live on the streets!")
...Was not expecting the Cheelai x Beerus crack ship to surface.
And a little comedically placed ice cream container conveniently kept the main Saiyan train out of the A-plot. Eat your ice cream, Broly :)
Gohan when threatened with a gun: (casual swat) "I'm calling the cops."
Gohan goes absolutely feral when you mess with his daughter.
How they managed to get Pan to play along with the kidnapping to get Gohan to give his all (what the heck Piccolo, you crazy). Pan would be the type of kidnapping victim to ask the kidnapper to cut the crusts off her sandwich.
Dr Hedo just wants to have fun- and I did not expect the family relations there with Gero despite the vomit pun being right there. Plus, confirmation that 21 was Gero's wife and 16 was his son- plus some other hidden kid. Plus Magenta inheriting Red's lack of height gene.
Bulma: "I've gathered all the strongest warriors on Earth... and Krillin."
DUDE!
Speaking of Bulma, we can see she's still making frivolous cosmetic wishes on the dragon. Didn't expect Shenron to say "your buns are now perf". Glad they could find Hedo a new job fulfilling her plastic surgery needs with his bio skin tech (Krillin, the literal cop, didn't want him in jail).
We got Gotenks baited. They fail the fusion dance, but Fat Gotenks does get volleyballed around and is useful as an attack- then they do it correct and promptly pan away from it.
Now for the big spoilers I dodged by a hair-
CELL MAX- I was somewhat expecting Cell in some form, but wow. Red Semi perfect kaiju was definitely not on the prediction bingo, got a bit nervous that 18 had to come help.
ORANGE PICCOLO - Piccolo's turning all sorts of colors, green, olive yellow, FANTA. Glad he got his potential boost. He's not going with any fancy names, he's calling it what it is. Didn't expect the Pirina buff- and nice callback to OG Dragon Ball with the giant form. Glad Krillin came along to remember that.
GOHAN BLANCO - With that SHWINK realization effect ala Super Saiyan 2 awakening, Gohan got a new form! A white-haired form, Gohan Blanco is canon- wiki's telling me it's Gohan Beast but it's Gohan Blanco in my heart. Kinda pointy but I do like the growl effect on the voice- it's like Super Saiyan 4- that makes me see why it's called Beast.
Also, cute note, apparently Gohan is straight up Velma and can't see without his glasses. He loses a Senzu Bean down the crack, now we know why he missed the Potara. Gohan needs his specs, plus Super Saiyan fixes his eyesight it seems. He asks Pan to help him find his glasses- and if you look in the corner she does! Before promptly smiling, trying to put them on, and then THROWING THEM.
Overall, very cool movie that used its normally side characters very well in higher roles (even though Krillin's kinda the butt of the joke).
Oh, and we can't forget Frieza's "role" in the movie:

Also, Vegeta finally defeated Goku in the post-credits scene :)

Teen Gohan x Vegeta's Daughter! Neko! Reader - I Can't Wait To See You Again
[Before I begin, I would like to state that this takes place a bit before the begining of the Buu saga, and Goku didn't sacrifice himself. He's been with his family this entire time and all that stuff. Alright. Enjoy!]
(Vegeta's POV)
I sat in my and Bulma's shared room one rainy afternoon. Frowning, I looked at an old scanner on the dresser. As the rain hit the window pane with a comforting tapping sound my thoughts wandered and I wondered how my other family was doing.
'Should I talk to her? It's been about a week..' This device was the only way I could talk to my daughter. She was the offspring of my first wife, Celeste, and she was part of the the neko race. Unfortunately, my late bride died right after giving birth to my baby girl.
Her name is (Y/n). It sounds weird. Me, the prince of all saiyans, having a half Saiyan, half neko daughter, but she's incredibly sweet, and absolutely terrifying in battle.
Or so I've been told.
(Y/n) currently lived with her grandparents (her mother's parents) on the planet Nekorata. It had once been a planet ruled by Freiza, but it had been liberated soon after Kakarot defeated him.
I sighed thinking of the baby girl I had to leave behind after I was told to leave under Freiza's direct orders. I had given her grandparents, my mother and father-in-laws, another scanner so that we could keep in touch. Fortunately we had for many years, but lately, it's been mainly (Y/n) I talked to. She told me they hadn't been doing too well as of late, and the doctor told her they didn't have too much longer.
I wanted to talk to her. I wanted to know if she was okay. I need to know.
Bulma knew I had a wife before her. She even knew I had a daughter, and she's even gotten to talk to her. 'Bulma is technically her step mom, and Trunks her step brother.. maybe she could live with us? It wouldn't hurt to have another Saiyan on earth, even if she is half neko.'
I quickly got up from my sitting position and grabbed the scanner, placing it over my eye, I turned it on and started a call. Not even three blips after, I heard her voice. "Hello, father!" I smiled, "Hi there (Y/n), how are you?"
There was a small pause and a sigh. "Gran and Gramps passed away this morning."
I frowned, "I'm so sorry, Princess. Are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay. Just a bit sad. I'll be alright though."
"So, are you still going to live at their house?"
"I don't know. Probably. I haven't decided yet."
I nodded. "Well, I haven't asked Bulma yet, but I was considering asking you to move in with me. I know it's a long journey to and from Nekorata and earth, but..."
I heard a gasp and a giggle from the other line. "Dad, that would be awesome, and no it won't be a long journey. I learned a technique called Instant transmission a week ago. I think humans call it teleportation. All I'd need you to do is raise your energy level super high."
"REALLY?!" I exclaimed in suprise. Bulma poked her head into the room, "Hey Vegeta, is everything okay?" I nodded, then quickly asked her before she left. "Bulma, could we have (Y/n) live with us?" She looked suprised for a second then smiled. "I don't see why not. There's plenty of room here."
"Oh my gosh really?!" Came (Y/n)'s voice over the scanner. She heard everything. Bulma laughed, "Of course sweetheart. Mi casa es su casa." Laughter could be heard from my daughter. "Thank you so much!"
I smiled and kissed Bulma's cheek. She blushed and left the room. "Do you want me to raise my power level now?" I asked and (Y/n) replied no. "Gran and Gramp's will still has to be read. And I have to decide what to do with the estate."
"Okay, contact me when you're ready okay? Can you give me an estimate maybe?"
"About a week, if that's okay. I'll update you if something is held back a bit.
I chatted a bit more before hanging up. It had been 18 years since I had last seen her and I was a bit nervous. It certainly would be different, but not unwelcome. 'I just have to wait a week.'
-Time Skip-
A week went by quickly and no difficulty reports had been given by (Y/n). Finally, the day came when I would see her again. Bulma had decided to invite some of the others over in celebration of her arrival. "So, who's coming to earth, Vegeta?" Asked Katarot looking at me expectantly. I rolled my eyes. "My daughter. Don't you ever pay attention?"
"I wonder how strong she is.."
I hit him in annoyance. "She's coming to earth for the first time and I'm going to be seeing her for the first time in 18 years and all you can think about is sparing with her?!"
There was a harty laugh from the others as suddenly the scanner rang. "Alright. Whenever you're ready, so am I." Came her happy voice. "Alright then." I hung up and turned to everyone. "Don't be suprised when she arrives. She's using instant transmission to get here." Goku nodded eagerly, probably happy someone else knew how to use that move too.
Flying into the air and closing my eyes, I raised my power level as high as it could go, powering up to Super Sayian 2. Suddenly I felt a high energy right in front of me. Opening my eyes, I saw a beautiful young woman with (e/c) eyes, (h/c) hair, and (white/black/brown) cat ears and a matching tail. I couldn't help but smile as my power turned off and I returned to normal. "Hello father!" I smiled and brought her into a hug. This was a rare interaction for me, but I felt it was needed. Especially for her, and I smiled even more when she hugged back.
"Woah! It that his daughter? Her power level is so high!" Came Kakarot's voice and I sighed then chuckled as I heard a slap and a shrill voice telling him off for ruining the moment.
(Y/n) laughed and smiled as we floated down to the others. The first to greet her was Bulma who brought her into a hug, which was gladly returned. Second was a shy looking Trunks. (Y/n) got on one knee and smiled at him. "So you're my little brother? Wow, you remind me so much of dad. It's nice to meet you." He nodded shyly and she smiled.
The others were introduced, Kakarot being second last. "Hi, I'm Goku! It's nice to meet you! Are those cat ears and tail real? How powerful are you? Do you wanna spar with me sometime?" (Y/n) looked rather suprised and I growled in annoyance. "Really Kakarot?" Now she looked confused. "Wait. Is your name Goku or Kakarot?"
He sighed softly, "Well, my Saiyan name is Kakarot, and my earth name is Goku. I grew up on earth so..." (Y/n) nodded joyfully and her ears swiveled around, picking up multiple noises. "Alright then. Your name will be Goku! It's easier to remember." He smiled happily and I rolled my eyes.
Last was Kakrot's son, Gohan. He blushed quite a bit and shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you Miss (Y/n). My name's Son Gohan. The man you met before me is my father." He greeted her politely. 'Finally, someone with manners.' She blushed slightly too. "I assumed so. You two looked a lot alike. It's nice to meet you too Gohan."
-Time Skip-
(Gohan's POV)
By the time we had arrived home, I already wanted to go back. "Vegeta's daughter sure is a cutie, don't you think?" Said my mother happily as we walked through the door of our house. I only nodded as I remembered her beautiful eyes and the way she made me smile. 'She was so beautiful..' I thought dreamily as I got ready for bed.
(Y/n)'s POV)
I lay in bed for the first night on earth. 'The people here are so friendly. Especially that Gohan boy..' she blushed at the memory of the shy and polite boy who's eyes she could get lost in, and who's voice could lure her in more than a siren's could. 'I don't exactly belive in love at first sight, but I think I might be falling for you, Son Gohan..'

Can you do yandere broly and yandere Goku , yandere future trunks with half sayian s/o adopted daughter to Gohan can you write how they deal with her busy social life like when she spends more time with her friends just chatting and they feel in rage of however you giving attention like talking to vegeta

I don’t normally do Yandere headcanons. It’s listed under what I don’t do, but you’ve requested stuff before so I’ll do it this one time. However, judging from the ask, it sounds like you want a Goku x Gohan’s daughter, which would be Goku’s own granddaughter. You do clarify that she is adopted but it still feels icky to me. I’ll do it, but I’m NOT going to do something like this relationship again. (Also, I saw you apologized for meaning to have this be a reader insert, but no worries. These are just regular headcanons, not reader inserts)
Another thing: I’m making the s/o at least 18. If her age was more on par with current Super Pan’s, she’d be a baby/toddler.
Broly
- Broly has very intense feelings. When he gets hungry, he gets full on ravenous. When he gets angry, his power explodes and makes him go on a rampage. So when he meets Gohan’s daughter and gets a crush on her, it’s a burning desire.
- He instantly chooses to move off Vampa and come to Earth to be closer to his s/o. In fact, he stays right outside Gohan and Videl’s house so that, as soon as his s/o comes outside, he can be right there with her. He then follows her around everywhere she goes.
- When her friends try to come around, they don’t stay for long. Broly is huge and intimidating, especially since he gets mad whenever they take away the s/o’s attention from him for too long. And if any of them dared to stand up to him, they'd be punched hard enough to fly for miles.
- It doesn’t matter whether she is talking to Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Videl, or even playing with her little baby sister Pan, Broly hates when her attention is away from him. It would make him blow up in rage, going into his legendary form to wipe out everyone to make sure the only person his s/o can interact with is him. He’d probably have to be put down by Goku and Vegeta’s fusion or maybe Beerus if Broly ruins the God of Destruction’s meal. He would be too dangerous to be kept alive.
Goku
- He probably really did only see his son’s adopted daughter as a granddaughter for a while, but after getting to train with her enough, he feels an attachment to her that he has hardly ever felt before. He’s felt love for his family and friends before, but it hardly ever got to this point.
- He’d come by to the house often, but only to send time with his s/o. He won’t care about Chi-chi, Gohan or Pan. After all, he’s been a bad husband and father for years, why would he start being better now? It causes a lot of resentment and rifts in the family.
- Goku would try to keep his s/o training with him constantly, but when she wants to go off with her friends, he tags along simply because he doesn’t want to be away from her. He acts cheery and happy with her friends, but it gets really annoying with how he constantly interjects into their conversations. That and watching him eat when they go for meals is uncomfortable because of how sloppy he is.
- He can allow his s/o to spend time with Gohan, Videl, and Pan. After all, that’s her father, mother, and sister. However, if she is talking to Vegeta or anyone else, he gets jealous and inserts himself into their conversations, just like he does with her friends. It's so aggravating and it’s going to lead to fights.
Future Trunks
- Trunks has been through a lot and needs some love. When he feels a crush on Gohan’s daughter, he wrestles with it because he respects Gohan so much, it’d be weird to date his daughter. However, he likes her too much to let it go.
- He abandons the future to stay in the past, with his s/o. Why go anywhere else when she’s right there? He’d try to spend time with his father and mother, but he truly desires to be around his s/o.
- When she wants to be with her friends, he tries to give her that space, but after a few times, he can’t keep it up. He tags along with her and tries his best to get along with her friends, but he just finds them annoying for taking his s/o’s attention away from him.
- Again, he has so much respect for Gohan, so he won’t stop his s/o from spending time with her own father or even if she wants to spend time with Videl or Pan. Family is important; he understands that. That’s why he also doesn’t mind when she talks to Vegeta or Bulma, after all, that’s his own parents. The only way there could be problems is if his s/o and Vegeta had a really good relationship. Then Trunks might get jealous and tell his dad to back off.

WARMTH
(FRIEZA X READER)
He couldn’t understand why you brought such warm smiles to Goku and his friends despite you not being a strong fighter like them. You even had the god of destruction himself taking a shine to you after cooking up a delicious meal for him and his Angel servant which truly amazed Frieza even more.
Why? How do you do that? Such thoughts wrapped around his mind as if he was struggling with a riddle that was impossible even for the likes of him. To the emperor of the universe you were just like all the other people who weren’t worth being remembered nor being acknowledged by him. And yet here you were in the company of incredible people with extraordinary powers who treated you like one of them. All because you showed them kindness for them. It nearly made him sick since you reminded him so much of Goku and decided to wipe those warm smiles by killing you. However just as he was approaching you while you were tending to the garden at Capsule Corp with the intent to kill you locked eyes with him and asked, “Can I help you with something?”
Frieza cleared his throat. “I was wondering if Goku was lingering here.”
You smiled warmly. “Are you a friend of his?”
“Acquaintances actually.” Frieza responded coolly.
“Oh okay. Well I haven’t been able to keep track of the guy with that instant transmission technique of his so I’m not sure exactly where he is now. I swear one of these days I might have to suggest to him to get a cell phone or something so that I can call him so that I would know where he’s at.” You groaned as you stretched taking a break from the garden.
Frieza feeling amused by this let out a small chuckle. “You almost sound like a mother fretting over her child’s whereabouts.”
You scoffed. “Yeah well sometimes he’s like a child trapped in a grown man’s body despite the fact that he’s married, has two boys, one which is full grown, and is also a grandparent. But I’m sure that you already knew that, right?”
“He has a grandchild?” Frieza asked curiously.
“Yeah and she’s a real cutie!” You gushed.
Frieza watches you talk about Gohan’s daughter with such animated movements. He was rather interested with how lively you were with him.
“Y/n!”
Vegeta sprinted towards you and stood in between you and Frieza. “Idiot! Do you know who you were just talking to?!” He exclaimed.
You looked at Vegeta’s angry expression and back at Frieza in confusion. Then it clicked in your head. Whenever Vegeta had gotten this angry it was when he talked about his time serving the tyrant named Frieza. You had never met Frieza but you heard plenty of stories about him from Goku and the others . “Frieza?” You asked hesitately.
“Oh, ho, ho, ho! I apologise for not introducing myself earlier my dear but I didn’t think that you would’ve known who I was when we started talking.” Frieza smiled smugly before looking at Vegeta. “Don’t worry I’m not here to cause you any misfortune, Vegeta. This time at least.” He then started to float off the ground getting ready to leave.
Even though you were startled by realizing that you were speaking to the emperor of the universe himself you were actually grateful that he didn’t take the chance to murder you on the spot and was leaving without a conflict breaking out. “It was nice to meet you, Frieza! And thanks for not killing me!” You said in a cheery voice which caught Frieza off guard and earned a glare from Vegeta.
“You’re only alive because I’m here! Now let’s go. Bulma needs your opinion on one of her projects she’s working on.” Vegeta snaps as he herds you into the building while checking on Frieza every second.
Frieza’s expression changed into neutral as he took off still thinking about what you just said to him.
Several hours had passed since Frieza had spoken to you and hasn’t been able to stop thinking about it. One minute you were cautious about him after finding out who he was then the next, you were thanking him for sparing you. He was so use to being feared by everyone in the whole universe that it completely confused him when you continued to be genuinely nice to him. A smile crept onto his face as he figures out why that was possible.
Your spirit was like a warm and inviting fire that offered its warmth to anyone who seeks to escape the cold. Frieza didn’t really mind the cold but he did find your warmth rather pleasant. It would be even better if he decided to keep that warmth to himself and kill anyone who came near it.

"I still think you should let Gohan and I spar."
Trunks was on the same topic, pouting, though he'd argue he wasn't, as you fussed over your hair and your makeup, finally settling on an outfit with your mom's help. You sighed, turning to where he was seated on your bed.
"And I told you-- no fighting my friends."
"He made you upset though," He was looking at you as if you were the one who made no sense in this situation.
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head fondly at him, "Gohan didn't upset me."
Though he didn't believe you, "I could stop being friends with Goten?"
You moved to sit across from him, watching as he held one of your pillows to his chest, glaring at your comforter.
"Trunks I appreciate you being ready to fight on behalf of me, but you don't need to. And you especially don't need to drop your best friend for me." You ruffled his hair, and laughed at the offended noise he made, trying to bat you away.
"Whatever. If you come home crying I'm gonna tell dad."
You narrowed your eyes at him, all affection leaving, "You wouldn't."
You hadn't even told your dad you were going on a double date. The man would more than likely have a conniption. The first time a guy showed interest in you he declared no mortal good enough for his daughter and declared anyone after your heart and your hand needed to beat him in a match. You had been thirteen. It was embarrassing. Yet part of you had reveled in his protectiveness of you.
"I would."
You heard your mom shouting your name downstairs, and the jitters that had mellowed out hit you full force. You stood, motioning for Trunks to do the same.
"No hanging out in my room when I'm not here, brat."
He stuck his tongue out at you, "I don't wanna be in your dumb room anyways."
He dodged the smack you sent towards his arm and left you alone. Taking a deep breath, you forced a light expression on your face. Delaying the inevitable wouldn't do you any good.
"You at least look lovely honey," Your mom comforted you, and you smiled at her.
"Thanks, mom."
You made your way to the door, grabbing a thin jacket in case it got nippy, and opened the door, unprepared to see Gohan, Videl, and Erasa at your front door.
You blinked for a moment, staring at the three of them-- Erasa was your date for the double date?
Interesting.
"Sorry," Gohan rushed to apologize, "Erasa insisted we all went together."
The blonde beamed at you from where she stood, and though you were dreading this interaction, you could never dread hanging out with Erasa, and her happiness was always contagious.
"It's alright," You smiled back, shutting the door behind you, "Let's just hurry before dad finishes with his morning training."
Gohan shuddered at that, and the four of you moved to head off. Erasa was practically bouncing as she walked, far more excited than she had been earlier this week. Videl was with her, moving every so often to keep her from drifting into the street or getting distracted by something near by. You couldn't help but smile at the pair, Videl was always so soft with her friends.
"So," Sucks that it meant Gohan had to be stuck walking with you instead of his date, but hey, you'd soak up the time, "My mom says hi. And that you need to come over for dinner soon."
"Well, I'll never pass up an opportunity for Chi-Chi's cooking," He smiled at that, a bright look on his face as you continued, "We still have that project due soon so I could come over some time this week?"
"Yeah! That'd be great. Sorry in advance for how mom will be." He paused, "And dad, come to think of it."
You quirked an eyebrow at him, "I've known your parents since I was a kid, Gohan. I know how they'll be."
"Yeah, but this will be different. Well not really, for us I suppose. But for them. Mainly mom." He sighed, as if already exhausted by the dinner that hadn't even happened yet, "And dad's just excited that that gives him more excuses to hang out with Vegeta."
"That it-- what?"
He laughed as if your confusion was not only expected but entertaining to him, "I know. I told him that just because we're seeing each other it doesn't mean he gets to go over and bug your dad every day. Not to mention I think it'll just be another reason for Vegeta to not like him. Or me."
Your mind was reeling, and you felt yourself slowing down your walk, trying to process and make sense of what he was talking about. Gohan seemed almost too lost in his mind to notice at first.
"I wonder if there's some Saiyan tradition he's going to make me partake in. Or-- hey, what's up?"
He turned, and you realized you had gone from slowing down to not walking entirely.
"Gohan-- what are you talking about?"
It was his turn to look confused. "Well I mean, dad doesn't know a whole lot about Saiyan traditions so he never really did anything special with mom. I figured Vegeta would probably remember more so if there was one he'd force me to do it. It probably has something to do with sparring, knowing him."
"Why would-- why would you need to know about Saiyan traditions regarding-- what does my dad have to do with this?"
By now both Videl and Erasa had turned to look at you two, confused as to why their trip was pausing. Gohan looked from you, to the pair of them. The cafe was within sight, so he told the pair to go ahead, and you two would catch up in a moment.
Head tilted, he looked at you curiously, "Because if I'm taking you out then he's either going to have my head or make me partake in some... Saiyan courting ritual I know nothing about." He grinned slightly, joking as he said, "I'd like to get a head start on it so I don't lose against him."
"Why would you need to fight my dad in a Saiyan courting ritual to date Videl?"
You were met with silence as Gohan stared at you, mouth parted slightly.
"What are you talking about?" Before you could respond he stepped closer to you, "I'm-- I'm not interested in Videl? I asked you on this date?"
"No you didn't!"
"I did!" The pair of you seemed to be growing almost frustrated with each other.
"When?"
"When we were working on the project in your room-- I told you about the double date and you said you wanted to come!"
"Yeah, you said you and Videl wanted me to come on a double date. Meaning you and Videl were one couple, and I was--"
"Oh my God," He muttered to himself, rubbing his eyes under his glasses before pausing, looking at you with the biggest puppy eyes you had ever seen on him, "I messed this up."
He stepped forward, gently taking one of your hands into his, and you found yourself unsure of what to do or say.
"I... was asking you out. I wanted to come here with you. Videl had managed to get herself to ask Erasa out, but was too nervous for a one-on-one first date. So the agreement was I had to man up and ask you out."
"You... didn't do that well."
He laughed quietly, "I'm realizing this now." He paused, "Does this mean that... your answers changes now that you--"
"No!" Your voice was louder than you intended it to be, "No, no I... God, Gohan I was practically heart broken that I thought you were into Videl. I love her, don't get me wrong but I've had the biggest crush on you since we were kids."
His grin grew, becoming soft and almost dopey looking, "That's funny. I've had a crush on you since we were kids, too."
You could have face palmed then and there, could have cried or screamed with the amount of emotions you were feeling. Apparently, despite taking after your genius of a mother, you were an idiot.
"Oh," You blinked, "That's why Trunks was mad at you."
"What?"
"I was..." Moping. "Upset cause I thought you liked Videl. He heard me complaining to mom and wanted to fight you."
"Oh," He looked contemplative, "That... checks out. I'm just glad he hadn't told your dad yet."
You giggled, "He said if I came home crying he would."
"Well," He took your hand in his more securely, tugging you gently towards the entrance of the cafe, "I suppose I just have to make this an excellent first date."

It's amazing how the very things some 'fans' dunk on Krillin and Chi-Chi for and wonder why their significant others chose them are the very things that 18 and Goku love about them. I.E his gentleness and good heart and her tough as nails strong willed nature etc.
OK... I have a take on this that may be a tiny bit controversial, but I feel it needs to be said.
The reason Krillin and Chi-Chi are dunked on for their personalities, especially in a series where characters with similar ones are loved, is not because of their personalities.
...it’s because they’re not seen as sexy. Both in terms of appearance and personality.
No, you didn’t read that wrong and I’m going to explain to you why.
Chi-Chi is seen as bitchy, bossy, always trying to have things her way, “forcing Goku to do things he doesn’t want to do” like... get a job or spend some time doing normal family stuff. How awful. The thing is, there’s another character in this series who had similar personality traits dialed up to freakin’ 11. And that character is Bulma.
Bulma was always very bossy. She was borderline abusive at times (if you look at that outside the context of comedic overreactions, at least), she would throw a fit over other girls talking to Yamcha and accuse him of cheating, she would demand attention, she would turn on a dime and flirt openly with anyone she found attractive, and even when on a mission to revive her boyfriend whom she had wept over, she... found herself thinking of other men and even trying to throw tail at Zarbon (in her anime depiction at least, but in the manga she was still dazed by his good looks). She was selfish, would slap, kick, punch, scream, etc. But she’s never really considered to be a shrew, or a “bitch”, or what have you because... well... she’s sexy. She shows skin, shows cleavage, flaunts her curves, is fashionable. She’s seen as a sort of “sex symbol” for it rather than in any sort of negative light. And yes, Bulma does change and grow up as the series progresses, but there are still elements of this present in her, and even when she hadn’t? She was still loved by the fandom.
And to further illustrate this, not only does Vegeta acknowledge that’s part of what he finds attractive about Bulma, a la Goku with Chi-Chi, but even in the fandom itself, when there are fan works or figures sexualizing or “sexing up” Chi-Chi in the same way as Bulma? They are RIGHT there lining up to drool. The same dudes who say they can’t STAND her will sit there and WISH she would wear that in the show, act like that in the show, etc. They openly bemoan that she stopped wearing the barbarian bikini armor and started dressing more conservatively. And on the flipside, some also bemoan that she, unlike Bulma, is a more traditional housewife, happily. Bulma’s out there running a whole company, y’see, so any of these other women being more traditional wives or mothers? That’s a negative. And since Chi-Chi is the epitome of that, SHE is bad while Bulma is good. (To be clear, there’s a whole other discussion to be had there as to whether some of that is a valid series criticism to some degree, but I’ve seen people take that wayyy too far with Chi-Chi.) They say she was hindering Goku by trying to hold him responsible, they say that she “ruined” Gohan by FORCING him to study instead of fight, and ignore that Gohan himself preferred it. (He’s a SAIYAN, y’see, he HAS to like fighting, it’s in his blood. Chi-Chi just choked it out of him, that’s all!) Ridiculousness of that sort.
And on the Krillin front... well.. just look at Gohan.
Gohan and Krillin have shockingly similar personalities. They’re both dorks, they both have a corny sense of humor (in a loveable way), they’re both a bit socially awkward with the opposite sex, they both love and dote on their families and adore their daughters, both even get back into martial arts for the sake of their families but put their jobs and roles as family men and breadwinners first and foremost.
But for some reason, you see Gohan with these ridiculous, over-the-top harems and Krillin the victim of NTR by pretty much every character in the entire franchise at this point. Some people actually even ship 18 with Gohan over Krillin because they think the “take-charge dominant woman x nerd” dynamic is better when that’s the same dynamic that exists with her and Krillin. Why?
Well... because Gohan is sexy. Gohan is powerful, traditionally handsome, tall and muscular. Krillin is... short. Missing a nose. Comparatively not powerful and not as muscular. His gentleness is seen as weakness, not kindness. He doesn't have his badass moments of beating the snot out of the main villain while glaring and making women swoon and men jealous. Ergo, he is bad. He is a beta male. He is a “cuck”. He doesn’t “deserve” his wife, he doesn’t “deserve” to be anything but a joke. 18 “settled” for him, and thus their relationship is “toxic”. I even once saw someone say that she settled in a series where “the men are ranked by actual, literal numbers (power levels)” and that 18 thus “not only settled, but sank to near the center of the earth” with Krillin. I’ve seen people say that since Toriyama said in interviews outside the series that he partly let Krillin have his dream of getting married because he felt bad for always writing him having bad things happen to him, that their relationship is bad because that also means 18 got with him out of pity or obligation and teaches that “women are rewards” when the manga itself shoots that whole idea down. These are all real takes.
Make no mistake, Gohan will sometimes be bashed by those who have toxic ideas of masculinity as well, but he still gets an overall pass because of his cool factor and... well, sex appeal. Even straight dudes find him cool enough to project onto, and others just lust after him. Plus, if push comes to shove, just imagine that Gohan became “badass again” in fanfic land. Much harder sell with someone like Krillin.
The fandom has a very, very nasty case of double-standards throughout, however. This is just the tip of a very unfortunate iceberg.

During 1x05 the smallville festival y/n ask Female Oc Kent on a date. Then he fights Derek Powell. During 1x06 Female Oc Kent refused to go to the game since she has bad memories during her old school in Metropolis. She invites y/n to hang out and he shows her the four dragon ball. He ask her why she didn't want to watch her brother's game. She tells him that her old boyfriend in the football team humiliated her and spread bad rumors about her. He conforts her and give him and she give him a kiss then they got carried away by making out. Y/n gave Jon a senzu bean to heal his arm.
During 1x07 y/n and vegta are fight a metal cooler John Henry Iron sent so he can kill superman.

Gohan is behind Chi-Chi, and Goten is the last to come out of the house. The two boys are ready to fight, as Goten is wearing his usual orange gi over a blue long-sleeved undershirt, and Gohan is on his Great Saiyaman costume, but this time, with his white bandana and sunglasses. The older Saiyan is carrying a duffle bag.
GOHAN: Flying Nimbus!
The yellow fluffy cloud flies in, stopping in front of the three. Gohan helps Chi-Chi climb the cloud.
CHI-CHI: Let's get going!
Nimbus starts flying as the two Saiyan brothers follow at either side.

CAPSULE CORPORATION, WEST CITY
The Son family arrives at Capsule Corporation. On the compound was a big airship and beside it are Bulma, Vegeta and Trunks. The three landed beside the airship, with Gohan helping his mother climb down Nimbus.
BULMA: Hey guys!
CHI-CHI: Are we late?
BULMA: You're actually quite early.
Bulma is wearing a red dress with a yellow scarf around her neck. Vegeta is wearing an all-black outfit, while Trunks is on his mustard hoodie and green shorts. The father and son are carrying bags containing their fighting clothes.
TRUNKS: Hey Goten! Mom allowed me to go join the tournament with Dad.
GOTEN: Really?
BULMA: As if I have a choice! Your dad was the one who insisted.
VEGETA: It's time to show us the fruits of his training.
GOTEN: Mom, can I join, too?
CHI-CHI: Goten, that might be dangerous.
BULMA: My words, exactly.
VEGETA: You told me Kakarot was also a kid when he started joining.
BULMA: He was twelve, not eight!
VEGETA: What's the difference? Besides, being a Saiyan, we are trained to fight even at a young age.
BULMA: Well, this is Earth and not the Planet Vegeta you once ruled. Things go differently here.
VEGETA: I know my son's capabilities and I know he has a fair chance on this tournament. Might start them at a young age to hone their fighting skills as soon as they can.
BULMA: I swear, if something happens to my Trunks you will sleep outside the room for the whole month.
Vegeta could only grumble in disagreement. Gohan and Chi-Chi grin at the couple's conversation.
GOTEN: Can I really not join, Mom?
CHI-CHI: Goten, I told you. You cannot.
Goten pouted in disappointment.
GOHAN: Come on, Mom. I've trained with Goten and I'm pretty sure he can hold up his own on that tournament. He's actually strong.
CHI-CHI: Gohan, don't back up your bother.
GOHAN: I'm not. I'm telling my actual observation during these past weeks we've trained together. If given the chance to train more, I actually think these kids might surpass me.
VEGETA: You sound like your father during the Cell Games when he was talking about you.
GOHAN: (quite embarrassed) I'm just... telling the truth. (laughs nervously)
Chi-Chi looks at Goten who is still looking at her with his eyes being hopeful. In the end, Chi-Chi surrenders.
CHI-CHI: Fine!
Goten is filled with glee.
GOTEN: Thanks, Mom!
CHI-CHI: But if you got matched up with Vegeta then you should quit the fight, okay?
VEGETA: (quite offended) And why am I being singled out?
CHI-CHI: Because I know you won't be merciful against my Goten. It doesn't help that he looks a lot like Goku.
VEGETA: I'm not dumb enough to blow my chances into fighting Kakarot!
BULMA: Are you even sure you and Goku will get to fight against each other?
VEGETA: I will make sure it's us in the end.
BULMA: Don't forget Gohan and the others.
VEGETA: Why do you think I've been training hard all this time? I'll win against them and I will win over Kakarot.
BULMA: (exhales deeply) I sometimes wonder if I have to be jealous with that obsession of yours over Goku.
The others also started arriving. Krillin and his family arrived with Master Roshi and Oolong. Yamcha arrived with Puar. Even the Ox-King is there to join them.
All of them aboard the airship that will take them to the tournament's venue. Bulma is the one driving. Beside her is Vegeta, and behind her are Master Roshi, Oolong and Gohan. On the other side were Krillin and his family. Behind them are Yamcha and Chi-Chi, and on the other side are Goten, Trunks and Puar who are watching the surroundings they passed on through the window of the airship. The Ox-King is behind them all.
BULMA: Are you sure Goku is really coming back?
GOHAN: That's what he said. You know Dad never breaks his promise.
YAMCHA: He even married someone because of a promise.
All of them laugh.
CHI-CHI: By the way, Yamcha, are you also joining the tournament?
YAMCHA: Nah! I would not like to embarrass myself fighting these powerhouse fighters.
VEGETA: It's good for you to acknowledge that.
YAMCHA: But... how about Tien and Chiaotzu? Aren't they coming?
GOHAN: I wasn't able to inform them. I don't know how to reach them.
YAMCHA: Yeah... haven't seen them, too, since the Cell Games. For sure they will be happy to see Goku again.
KRILLIN: And Goku will be happy to see them, too.
GOHAN: I'm sure Dad won't recognize you, Krillin.
KRILLIN: Yeah... I figured that out, too.
MASTER ROSHI: It's been a long time since we've seen him.
OX-KING: It sure is a long time since you've all been together.
GOHAN: By the way... Vegeta, Tunks, and Goten, I think it's better if we don't turn to Super Saiyan.
VEGETA: And why is that?
BULMA: Of course, it's obvious! Not only is being a Super Saiyan already an odd occurrence here on Earth, but if you turn blond people might recognize you as those people who were on the Cell Games. And with all the media around the venue, it sure will blow up. I can only imagine those reporters in front of my house trying to get a story. That will be chaotic!
VEGETA: Then I'll just kill them all.
BULMA: Oh, Vegeta! Will you behave?
VEGETA: Fine! I won't turn to Super Saiyan. It doesn't matter anyway. I'll win no matter what.
TRUNKS: And I won't turn into Super Saiyan, too.
GOTEN: Me, too!
GOHAN: Thanks, guys.
BULMA: Oh! I think we finally arrived.
PAPAYA ISLAND
In front of them is Papaya Island, the venue of the tournament. Lots of airships are also coming to that island, not only for the guests but also for the media as well. The group arrives on a jam-packed tournament venue. Lots of people are on the island, and there are also a lot of stalls and shops around the place where people can buy food, refreshments and other things such as collectibles and memorabilia connected to the tournament.
KRILLIN: Wow! I don't remember the tournament being this crowded.
BULMA: Times sure changed in here.
KRILLIN: It actually feels like a festival in here.
YAMCHA: I wonder if Goku is here already.
Suddenly, the people come rushing into the entrance of the venue. There lands a big airship with the logo 'MR. SATAN' on it. Everyone started talking about it, being excited about the arrival of their world champion.
KRILLIN: It looks like the world champion has already arrived.
BULMA: He sure does know how to do an entrance.
Mr. Satan goes down his ship.
MR. SATAN: Yeah!
The people cheer in glee. Some even chanted his name. The reporters rush in to interview him.
REPORTER #1: Mr. Satan, what are the odds of you winning this year?
MR. SATAN: A hundred and twenty percent! They might as well deliver the prize to my hotel room.
He laughs proudly. The people cheered more.
Videl goes down the airship, quite annoyed at the display of his father's conceit and the crowd's pleasure on it.
REPORTER #2: Ms. Videl, we've heard you're joining the senior division this year, with the possibility of fighting your own father. What will your strategy be if you are faced with him in the finals?
VIDEL: (quite annoyed) Maybe I'll punch and kick him. What do you think?
Mr. Satan just laughed at his daughter's sarcasm.
YAMCHA: Wow! It seems like Mr. Satan is really into this celebrity business.
GOTEN: Mr. Piccolo is here!
Piccolo is seen under a palm tree. Gohan goes to him.
GOHAN: Piccolo! You came!
Piccolo smiles.
GOHAN: Have you seen my father yet?
PICCOLO: Not yet, but he will come.
Piccolo notices Gohan's costume.
PICCOLO: Are you really going to compete with that outfit?
GOHAN: Why? It's cool, right?
Piccolo looks at him, as if he's about to say something. In the end he just stays quiet.
CHI-CHI: Oh, where could Goku be?
KRILLIN: I'll go look for him.
YAMCHA: Me, too!
Suddenly, the long awaited Saiyan appears. Goku arrives with Fortune Teller Baba.
GOKU: Hey guys!
EVERYONE: Goku!
Krillin is about to cry as he looks at his best friend. Yamcha, Puar, and Oolong are smiling widely.
Bulma is tearing up. Vegeta is just staring, as well as Trunks who have never met Goku before (he was still a baby during the Cell Games). Android 18 is also just staring, with a clueless Marron beside her.
Even Piccolo is smiling, as well as the Ox-King and Master Roshi. Chi-Chi has started crying. Goten is just staring at the man who suddenly appeared making everybody suddenly overjoyed.
GOHAN: Dad...
It was Gohan who first rushed to Goku.
GOHAN: Dad!
Gohan ran to his father as if he was the same nine-year old kid he was when Goku left them and decided to stay in the other world. He gives his father a tight embrace, which Goku reciprocates.
GOKU: Whoa, Gohan! You've grown so much!
Gohan laughs at his father's remark, though tears are also present in his eyes.
The others also come rushing to Goku. Krillin who is crying, Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar. They all surround Goku.
GOKU: Wow! Everyone is here! It's nice to see you all, guys. You've all changed a lot.
After that, Goku comes to Master Roshi.
MASTER ROSHI: Welcome back, Goku. It's been a while.
GOKU: It sure, is. Looking good, Master.
MASTER ROSHI: Getting old is not bad at all.
Goku smiles. Then he looks at Bulma.
GOKU: Bulma!
BULMA: Hey, Goku! How's it going?
GOKU: Fine... You cut your hair.
BULMA: Yeah... Being a mother is quite a lot.
Goku looks down at Trunks.
GOKU: Trunks has really grown up.
Trunks just stares at him.
GOKU: Vegeta!
Vegeta just nods.
Goku turns around and finds Chi-Chi.
GOKU: Hey, Chi-Chi...
Goku comes closer to the teary-eyed Chi-Chi.
CHI-CHI: You're late...
Goku holds her by the shoulders.
GOKU: I'm sorry...
CHI-CHI: Oh Goku...
Chi-Chi collapsed in his arms, crying gently on his chest. Goku kisses her head, calming her down while stroking her back. He smiles at the Ox-King who is watching them, and the big guy smiles back at Goku. After a few moments, Chi-Chi lets go and wipes her tears away.
CHI-CHI: Okay... this has to stop. I have to stop crying.
With a little more effort Chi-Chi was able to fully stop crying. She smiles at her husband who looks lovingly at her.
Goku then notices a small boy with black spiky hair behind Chi-Chi. The small guy seems surprised at the sudden attention. He moves back to his grandfather, the Ox-King, and hid behind his big leg.
GOKU: Hey, Chi... were you...
Goku looks at Chi-Chi, who seems to know what's going on with her husband's head. She nods as confirmation, then smiles.
CHI-CHI: I found out two months after the Cell Games.
Goku gapes at her, amazed at what he heard. He looks at the small tot, who is still looking bashfully at the taller version of him.
CHI-CHI: Goten, go meet your Dad.
Goten looks at Chi-Chi who gave him a reassuring smile. He then looks back at Goku, still unsure as he clings tightly on his grandfather's huge leg.
OX-KING: Come on, Goten. Don't you want to meet your Dad?
Goku sits down, still amazed at what he's seeing.
GOKU: Hey... I'm Goku.
Goten looks shy, but answers anyway.
GOTEN: I'm Goten...
Goku smiles at him, and after staring for a few more moments, Goten finally seems to warm up on him.
GOTEN: Daddy!
Goten rushes to Goku, the latter almost falling down with the impact.
GOKU: Whoa! You don't only look like me. You're also as strong!
Goku stands up and carries Goten. He smiles joyfully at his kid, who seems overjoyed into finally meeting him.
GOTEN: I'm joining the tournament as well.
GOKU: Really?
Goku gives Chi-Chi a questioning look.
CHI-CHI: Oh, it can't be helped! He's your son after all.
Goku laughs at what Chi-Chi said.
GOKU: Were you training hard?
GOTEN: Yes! I'm training with Gohan back home.
GOKU: Wow... So that's why you're so strong.
GOTEN: And also Mom, too.
Once again, Goku looks at Chi-Chi, quite impressed at what he just learned. His wife just shrugged.
FORTUNE TELLER BABA: Goku!
Goku looks at the fortune teller.
FORTUNE TELLER BABA: Remember, you only have twenty-four hours here on earth.
GOKU: I will. Thanks, Baba.
FORTUNE TELLER BABA: I'll go now.
The fortune teller leaves.
GOTEN: That woman looks strange.
GOKU: She is a little strange, but she's nice.
Goku once again smiles at Goten, obviously amazed of the surprise that's been handed to him.
But the group needs to proceed with what they really came here for. It was Piccolo who reminded them that.
PICCOLO: We must go in and register, or else we'll be late.
GOKU: Right!
All of them goes to the registration booth. It was a long line, but after some time of waiting they had their turn to register.
GOHAN: The Great Saiyaman!
REGISTRAR: Great Se... what is that again?
GOHAN: The Great Saiyaman!
REGISTRAR: Okay... (writes on the list) Next!
GOKU: What is that Great Saiyaman?
GOHAN: It's my superhero name.
Trunks is next in line.
REGISTRAR: Oh! Another one for the junior division.
TRUNKS: What is that?
REGISTRAR: All the contestants under 15 years old will compete in a separate Junior Division match.
TRUNKS: Goten! They said we can't fight with the adults.
BULMA: That's not in the rules before. Guess they changed it since last time.
CHI-CHI: I think that's better.
TRUNKS: But I want to fight with the adults!
REGISTRAR: I'm sorry, but rules are rules. Next!
Trunks was not able to alter the registrar's resolve, which makes him grumpy.
After registration, the fighters included in the tournament all proceed to the competition hall.
GOKU: Alright! Let's go, guys!
CHI-CHI: Do great, Honey! And you too, Gohan and Goten.
GOKU: We will. See you in a bit!
BULMA: Do your best, guys!
Android 18 gives Marron to Master Roshi.
MASTER ROSHI: Don't worry. I'll take care of her.
ANDROID 18: You better.
MARRON: Bye Mom and Dad! Good luck!
KRILLIN: Bye, Sweetie! We'll be back soon, okay? Stay close to Master Roshi and the others.
All of them walks to the venue.
The preliminary assessment will be done first. All the participants who registered are taken to a wide open space near the arena.
KRILLIN: Wow! Look at all these people!
GOHAN: Is this how it usually is?
KRILLIN: Yeah... But I think there are a lot more this year.
The World Tournament Announcer comes to them.
ANNOUNCER: Wow! It really is you!
Goku and Krillin look at the announcer.
GOKU: Hey!
KRILLIN: It's been a long time!
ANNOUNCER: It sure is! I never thought I will see you again, though I am always hoping I would... (moves closer and whispers) By the way. It's not Mr. Satan who really beat Cell, right? It was you, right?
Goku and Krillin just laugh.
GOHAN: (on his mind) It sure is nice to see someone recognize Dad for how strong he really is.
ANNOUNCER: To be honest, this tournament has been totally lame since that last fight you were in. Mediocre fights, you know. No fun at all. But now you're all here, and I'm excited to see amazing fights later.
The announcer notices Android 18 and Vegeta.
ANNOUNCER: Are they with you also?
GOKU: Yes.
ANNOUNCER: That's great! This really is a great day. (notices Piccolo) So, can you promise to not destroy the ring this time?
PICCOLO: I'll try not to.
ANNOUNCER: (laughs) That's what I'm talking about... (notices Goku's halo) Hey, what's the deal with that thing on your head?
GOKU: Oh, this? (points at the halo) Actually, I've been dead since my fight with Cell. I just came back today for this tournament.
ANNOUNCER: You know, I've witnessed a lot of weird things involving you, so I'll buy that.
The person in-charge of the preliminary announces the start of the competition.
ANNOUNCER: That's my cue! See you in a bit, guys!
GOKU: See ya!
The World Tournament Announcer leaves.
IN-CHARGE: Today, we have 194 contestants who registered for this competition. Only 16 will have the chance to go to the semi finals. Mr. Satan, as the defending champion, will automatically move in, so only 15 among you will move on after this preliminary competition… As for the junior division, there will be no elimination round. All of the contestants for the junior division, please come this way.
The children fighting in the junior division all went to the person in-charge. They were then escorted outside the venue. After that, a punching machine was wheeled in.
IN-CHARGE: We will use this punching machine to select the top 15. The 15 highest scorers will move on to the next round.
KRILLIN: A punching machine?
GOHAN: What is that?
IN-CHARGE: For a little demonstration and to set the bar, here is our world champion, Mr. Satan!
Mr. Satan comes in, and again the people cheered and rejoiced for him.
KRILLIN: These people cheer not knowing they might even be stronger than him.
Cameras flash as the media covering the event capture the moment of the world champion. Piccolo, being annoyed himself, does his magic trick paralyzing all the cameras around.
GOHAN: Piccolo?
PICCOLO: All the cameras not only of those here but also those who will watch has all been destroyed. No one will find out about you so you can fight properly.
GOHAN: Thank you, Piccolo.
The media were all frustrated, and Mr. Satan is also quite annoyed. Still, he continues to show them what to do with the punching machine.
The world champion got a decent score of 137, which awed everyone, except for the Z Fighters of course. After the display, Mr. Satan leaves the venue and the competition starts.
It was that time when Gohan suddenly remembers something.
GOHAN: Dad, I'll just go look for a friend.
GOKU: Huh? Okay...
Gohan looks around, trying to find someone from the crowd that started to line up for their turn in the punching machine. As the crowd rush to the machine, he was able to single out the person that made him join the competition in the first place.
GOHAN: Videl!
Videl looks at him.
VIDEL: Gohan!
She suddenly remembers the disguise he wears and the reason behind it. She nervously covers her mouth.
VIDEL: I'm sorry...
GOHAN: It's okay... How's it been?
VIDEL: Great! I trained enough for me to beat you.
Gohan laughs.
VIDEL: How about you?
GOHAN: Great as well. I've trained enough, maybe I might be able to beat you?
Both of them laugh. Then suddenly, Videl seems awkward as she starts to blush.
VIDEL: Did you miss... I mean, of course, you miss school... going to class, you know...
GOHAN: Yeah... but this is about to end so I guess after this, everything will be back to normal.
VIDEL: Yeah... as you say...
Videl seems a little disappointed, which makes Gohan frown in confusion.
GOHAN: (on his mind) Is there something wrong? Did I say something bad?
The Z Fighters are now about to have their turn in the punching machine. Android 18 is the first to try it. She got 774 points, shocking everyone around except those who really knows how she really is.
VIDEL: That is impossible...
GOHAN: (laughs nervously) Maybe something's wrong... he he...
After Krillin's reproach Android 18 repeats the act, earning a lower score of 203, which is still high as compared to the bar set by Mr. Satan. It still shocked others, but it was the trend as the other Z Fighters follow suit. Krillin got 193 points, Goku got 188, Piccolo got 210, and Vegeta... well, his impatience got to him that he destroyed the punching machine in just one punch.
GOHAN: Oops! (on his mind) Trust Vegeta to not hold back his strength.
Everyone is shocked and kind of frightened by what Vegeta did, as well as the high scores that the participants before him got. And because the punching machine was destroyed, they have to replace it disrupting the flow of the preliminary assessment.
GOHAN: Ah, Videl, how is your flying skill? Has it improved?
VIDEL: Gohan! Aren't you shocked at what you just witnessed?
GOHAN: Huh? Ah... Ha ha! W-Well, y-yeah...
VIDEL: That man just destroyed the machine! I can't believe it!
Vegeta went to the other Z Fighters.
VIDEL: That group... they are incredible! They surpassed the score that my father set earlier. All of them got 200 points or close. It was amazing! Incredible...
GOHAN: Well, yeah...
Since it will take some time to get the replacement of the punching machine, those who are done with their turn are advised to wait for the result. Goku and the others decided to go see the junior division competition.
VIDEL: They're coming this way... Look at them walk...So confident and... so sure. Who are these people?
Goku stops upon seeing Gohan. Videl is shocked not only because he's one of those contestants who had unbelievable scores in the punching machine.
VIDEL: (on her mind) This man… it can't be!
GOKU: (looks at Videl) Is she the friend you mentioned earlier?
GOHAN: Uh... yeah...
KRILLIN: Friend, or girlfriend?
Krillin gives Gohan a teasing smile. Gohan gives him an awkward smile.
GOHAN: Krillin, you're embarrassing me.
GOKU: We'll go check on the junior competition.
GOHAN: I'll go after we're finished.
GOKU: Okay... see yah!
The group leaves.
VIDEL: (bewildered) You know those people?
GOHAN: Well, yeah... Actually, that guy in orange gi is my father.
Videl is shocked, and it's because her guess was confirmed.
VIDEL: But... I thought your father is dead!
GOHAN: He is. See that halo above his head? He just came back to join the competition today.
VIDEL: (more confused) What kind of people are you?
Gohan finally realizes what the conversation has turned into. He suddenly does not know how to answer Videl's question. He just looks at her, praying that he did not appear much more strange than he thinks he already seems to her.
At that moment, Videl is finally being able to grasp Gohan's peculiarity a little.
VIDEL: Gohan... there are a lot you haven't told me yet, right?
GOHAN: B-But... what do you want me to tell you?
VIDEL: I don't know... you tell me...
Gohan looks down.
GOHAN: All I can say is that... things that happen in my life and the people around me are not usually what other people experience. Our life is quite different than yours...
Videl looks at Gohan, who is obviously worried. She kind of feels guilty. To console Gohan and somehow fix the situation, she holds his hand.
VIDEL: Different is okay. It's not necessarily bad. Sometimes, it's actually amazing.
Gohan looks at Videl, who smiles at him. He suddenly feels a lot better he was able to smile back.
Videl feels good that Gohan's mood has improved. She likes that he smiled back at her. She likes it a lot it warms her heart. Though it gives her that unexplainable feeling inside her that makes her a little confused and distracted - the feeling that only Gohan was able to give her.
She starts feeling that again, and it makes her feel alarmed. She looks away trying to shake the feeling off, realizing she can't because she can feel her hand holding Gohan's. She lets go of his hand.
But Gohan has other plans. He instead holds her hand, more tightly than she did. Videl looks at their hands holding, then looks at Gohan giving him a questioning look. Gohan grins at her, quite awkwardly, obviously shy, definitely pleading he lets him hold her hand. Videl felt that. She smiles and lets him hold her hand while they wait for their turn in the preliminary assessment.
