Initially did a test run with the Cazador fight, just to see what happens and, after some fun dimension door shenanigans, Ronan got paralyzed to shit and died so I reloaded. The second attempt, I wondered if you could cast Daylight before the fight started so it was already up and my cleric didn't need to waste a whole ass turn on it after saving Astarion from being yoinked. Think what the hell, let's see what happens.

Party walks in. Gets as close to where the conversation trigger is as they can, and Ronan casts Daylight. Cazador auto-aggros, bypasses the evil monologue and the snatching of my twink, and then proceeds to get one rounded as Astarion and Karlach just decimate him and I am howling with laughter.

So I'm just imagining, after having a traumatic conversation with the dude he did seduce and trick into becoming a vampire spawn (unbeknownst to himself) and another conversation with Ronan putting as much doubt into his brain as possible regarding the ascension thing, Astarion's out of his mind with guilt and fear. Doubt and worry and thoughts raging on what is going to happen, what is Cazador going to say, what is he going to say, can they even do this, can he even do this all storming in his mind as they walk up to the big door. As they march down the stairs. As Cazador turns around and opens his mouth to speak-

And then the fucking dragonborn, the man who has endless patience for Astarion's and the rest of their parties excessive bullshit and yet none for anyone else speaking to him, the smug bastard of a cleric he's somehow fallen in love with, tells Cazador he doesn't want to hear it before snapping his fingers and a holy sunlight illuminates the entire ritual chamber. Cazador screams in agony, tries to cast a spell that Gale counters, and runs at the party in a blind rage and Astarion gets to stab the fuck out of him and then even more so after they pull him back out of the coffin.

And he can't. Be mad. About that.

I feel like the idea of the narrator being horribly insecure if he ever ends up with a human form should be explored more. Yes, he is obsessed with his story, he is a perfectionist and when he finally creates something he is proud of, he will show his pride clearly. Yet he is also incredibly sensitive to criticism as seen in the skip button ending and throughout the overall story.

I think that even if the narrator created a model for himself, spent hours and hours on it making sure everything was as accurate to the human condition as it could be, he would still be unsatisfied. There are so many choices to make and so many small details, how could he ever decide what one’s were correct? I imagine him viewing things as strictly right and wrong and I think that would apply here as well.

I can imagine if he ever does end up in a Human body outside of the parable, it would cause him great stress knowing he no longer as the ability to change things at will. Media and beauty standards would be as important to him as they would be to a teenage girl trying to fit in. There’s so much variety to human beings, there’s no list of biological rules for appearances, there’s varying information all over the place on what things correct, he reacts to criticism of his story by completely disregarding all the value it holds to him personally. He strives to create a narrative that is loved by all and destroys himself with this obsession. How could he possibly handle all the different opinions on human appearances? Knowing he can’t change in a way that will satisfy everyone?

I think it would nearly drive him mad.

He’s one that prefers talking rather than swinging a weapon, unless the other part is eager to fight. In that case, he becomes the bearer of chaos and, damn, he enjoys it! Before reaching Kirkwall, his studies were focused on Entropy and he really was talented at it, but after Bethany died his attention shifted towards Elemental Magic - and Force Magic later. It was his way to cope with the loss while honoring her favorite family member. Some recent conversations with a friend about my stance in the RP field made me realize a few things about myself in this regard, things that I think that are fair to share with you peeps so you know in what page I am on this matter.

Dain is a character who has all the knowledge at his disposal, someone who chose deliberately a path of loneliness even if he doesn't enjoy it, someone who has a goal in mind, someone who does things of value under wraps, someone who is feared by the Abyss Order even though they aren't easily swayed in the slightest, not even by people of the likes of Diluc who is a menace and yet they went out of their way to mock him. This gives him the privilege to be thrown in any core-lore related situation and the very former descriptor is one of the strongest reasons why I want to explore the hows and the whys and his thought process when he's in xyz situations.

I'm aware that this doesn't leave me with many options that are usually sought in people to write and I'm not an easy RPer myself. What I mean by this is that I don't adhere to the usual standards that I've observed in the RP fandom at large, regardless of fandom.

Does this mean that I don't enjoy exploring relationships between characters? Absolutely not. This is one of the many scopes RPing has and in my deepest RPs with close people, relationships between Dain and their muses are given their moment to shine. But in essence, that's what they remain: moments. I need a context, a story to go by, character development through these stories we weave together, a purpose. Relationship spotlights are punctual moments within bigger stories. No matter how much I may love a ship, they never outshine the bigger picture of the threads themselves, which doesn't give room for the typical domestic stuff or to get too engrossed in the smaller things.

Does this mean that I'm not willing to open that tight knot to other kind of interactions? No. Memes work as a kind of recreation to me, so do secondary threads we can agree to make for that purpose until we return to the main thread we have.

Does this mean that I'm not open for crack or lighthearted things? The answer here would be no, also. I do engage in crack and dash shenanigans when time limitations don't affect me because of my studies, but there is an additional factor that I keep in mind: plausibility for my character. We all know the way Dain is, so that doesn't need more explanation. I'm very strict with myself on being true to the muse I write. Note that this applies to myself and not what others do.

So I'm aware that I'm not too talkative about myself on the dash, as I would rather keep it to conversations with friends and apply things directly. But I believe that this is one of those topics to let you peeps know on what direction I lean more when it comes to interactions. I hope this sheds more light on the way I operate.

Your Siren Boyfriend eventually tricking you into the water after weeks of just chatting to you on the docks. He never sings or tries to convince you to come in. He sits in the water, his arms propping him up on the low dock so you two can talk. His eyes dark as a trench, and you can’t help but worry about all the light on the surface hurting him. Even at night, it’s still brighter than where he’s from.

The night you bring him sunglasses is when he knows you’re going to be his mate. He feigns confusion and asks how to put them on. You giggle and lean forward, setting them on his face. He takes that moment to grab your wrists, yanking you into the salt water. You barely manage to catch a breath before hitting the water, not that it matters because as soon as he kisses you, you suddenly can breathe.

You want to be angry at him, but he looks so happy. He starts clicking and chirping, something he hasn’t done in a few weeks since he realized you can’t understand him. It must be like when you gets excited and revert to your mother tongue.

His shark teeth gently nip at you neck as he tugs at your clothes, encouraging you to slip out of your swimsuit. You know that you shouldn’t. This isn’t right. But you can’t help yourself. The feeling of your Siren slipping inside of you makes you whimper. He pushes you against the shifting sand of the ocean floor, slamming into you roughly. You can’t help the moans and sounds that escape your mouth. Thank God you can breathe under water now because there’s no way you could have contained yourself.

When he’s done, he eases back, burying his face between your trembling legs. His fat tongue encourages you to finish, and you do rather quickly. Once he’s satisfied, his kisses make their way back up to your lips.
