Okay hi hello last week i finished svtfoe
Its rant time 👀
I didn't expect to write out my thoughts after each season anywhere but here we are i guess and now i can finally say i watched svtfoe in full!
So season 4
It was mid.
Okay theres more to that obviously, if it was just a season in the middle of the series it would be fine I enjoyed quite a few episodes but when it all comes together its just a complete mess
For me season 3 was the best and after such strong season this was just a disappointment honestly. I was wondering if Star lost her powers completely or what, so seeing her s4e01 using her magic completely fine without a wand was disappointing, like no learning no problems no nothing like i love you star but how tf did you learn that just outta nowhere
Other thing that seems to be completely forgotten is u know descendants of our favorite mc-pie folk? Like i have no problem with that what i have problem with is River. For whole 2 or more episodes he hates on pie folk so much but when he finds out his wife actually comes from pie folk he immediately forgets about that. Like im glad their relationship is okay dont get me wrong but with him being so prejudiced and hateful one minute and then just completely ignoring that is just ooc imo.
There's so much filler or irrelevant stuff happening that I had to look back at list of episodes to remind myself what was even happening
I liked Star being canonically attracted to women in episode I completely forgot about (ransomgram) so thats sth I guess
I really really enjoyed Stars and Toms relationship, maybe its my preference for Tomstar instead of Starco but I just find them so much nicer together. Despite that I also dont mind their eventual break up. I dont like that its so plainly just for Starco purposes its annoying but besides that I would love if their break up did lead up to development for them both. I feel like Tom was completely disregarded at the end of the season and it just bothered me a lot. I love how he grew throughout the series and I grew to like him a lot more than I initially did (which u know I liked him from the beginning anyway) and I love how much he cared for Star. It would be great if after the break up Star also could learn and like she wanted to try to find out who she is outside being "magical princess" that would be so great to see! but u know instead we got Starco :|
and now for Marco. I liked what he had going on w Kelly I thought it was cute u know? being breakup buddies thats adorable! and I didnt even mind blood moon curse I think it would be an okay closure for Starco and even then I feel like Marco and Star would be great platonic soulmates, instead of going w u know expected romance and stuff. Cause sure they have a strong bond I just feel like the romance part is bs, especially the confession scene I am sorry it was so bad. I dont mind Starco mind you but if I was keeping up w it at the time and 4 seasons of waiting led up to that I would be angry. I still am despite basically binging it, its just so weak I cant. The whole "I liked you from the start" no you didnt u liked Jackie (also good on her for getting french gf what a girlboss) and Star had a crush on Oskar and probably some other boys idk. It only got weird when Star started to have feelings for Marco while he was still obviously into Jackie, either way it was bad. Actually just now I read the synopsis the time they got feelings for each other was apparently blood moon ball? what? Star was charmed before she realized its Marco okay? and Marco idk didnt trust Tom and wanted to help Star which valid Tom had issues in s1 dskjds
I love Eclipsa so much I think she is my favorite character honestly. and her relationship w Globgor is just everything? Theyre so perfect and sweet and great w each other I want to have what they have ;-; She was so ready to do anything for him and vice versa and while reading some comments I kinda figured out how it feels so dear to me. Ik its interaccial or interspecies relationship so the metaphor isnt perfect but it feels so inherently queer. While being queer myself just seeing them care so much for each other while being ostracized by everyone around hits a bit close to home haha but yeah its amazing. and both of them separately are great too. While ik we only got few minutes of Globgor actually on screen I just liked him every second (and also it was funny to realize the guy from Jane the virgin dubs him pfpfpf) and Eclipsa is amazing too doing everything just to keep her family safe it was great.
okay few more things
I hate how Marco was literally stabbed but it didnt mean shit like at all. Its Stars wand all over again and it bothers me. Like sure it would suck if he died but also dont stab him then?
And I think I dont have to say this but ending is so bad. Like yeah ig the magic dimension when poofing out of existence could connect mewni and earth together but why only earth and mewni and also how did Star and Marco escape magic dimension??? again no consequences to their actions or not really anyway smh
and I havent even touched on magic or world building but thats gonna be another long post tee hee
Either overall I liked svtfoe quite a lot despite its problems and now I just wanna make cosplays and stuff haha

Globgor Rants #2
Rating Mewni Matriarchy prt.2
PART 1
7. Comet, The Chef
Tumblr media
“I…..really want to like this one. She seemed like she was a very devoted mother, and I praise her for trying to make peace with monsters without violence, but….she was very naive. Like, offensively so. Did she really think what separated us from Mewmans was the fact we didn’t know how to ‘savor’ a meal? What?! Yeah, she’s right. Food was what was causing the tension between us. As in, THEY KEPT STEALING OURS! You think we had the resources to make pies and crumb-boo-lay? She wanted to do things civilly, but she obviously saw us as ignorant barbarians, just like everyone else. The only difference is that she wanted to reason with us instead of trying to wipe us out. Which in hindsight, I appreciate, but I still can’t help but cringe at her naive way of thinking. We wanted land and freedom, Comet. Not baked goods.”
8. Dirhhennia, The Heaped
Tumblr media
“Um….I just….find it hard to understand this one. I mean, I want to keep in mind that Eclipsa was also scolded for being too weird, but….she’s weird in a charming way. This girl is just….kind of gross. There, I said it. She’s gross and kind of rude. Clearly wasn’t meant to be a queen, but hey, she was part of the ‘oh so perfect’ bloodline, so….”
9. Estrella, The Drafted
Tumblr media
“Nothing frustrates me more than someone who reaps the benefits of being royalty without putting any of the work in. All this woman did was draw her little pictures instead working to better the lives of her subjects! Maybe if she’d put in the slightest effort to better the relations between monsters and Mewmans, her daughter wouldn’t have been assassinated in her attempts to!
……Okay, I’m sorry. That was pretty harsh. I just can’t stand people who choose to stand aside and do nothing. It’s cowardly. Especially if you live in comfort while those around you suffer!
…..At least she had the talent to back up those drawings. They’re quite good.”
10. Rhina, The Riddled
Tumblr media
“SHE KILLED HER HUSBAND!!! How does someone get away with that?! Seriously, Eclipsa was dubbed an irredeemable villain for marrying a monster, but this woman commits mariticide, and….what? Nothing?! No big deal?!
It’s because he was a demon, I tell you. Yes, the Lucitors had long abandoned their monster roots by then, but you know if he had been a Mewman she wouldn’t have gotten off so easy! Just, AUGH! Also, on a much lesser note, I hate riddles!
11. Festivia, The Fun
Tumblr media
“Sorry to all those who want to see Eclipsa and I ‘adopt’ this child, but I really can’t stand her. I was very frustrated with Estrella for living leisurely with no responsibilities, but at least she didn’t do it at the expense of my daughter!! Festivia literally threw a party while her subjects died protecting the kingdom! She was having the time of her life while my Meteora, the rightful ruler, was being abused! And people want me to feel sorry for this girl?! Why? Because she was lied to? Well, so was Meteora!! So was all of Mewni!! She was literally nothing more than a carefree puppet for the High Comission to control! I would NEVER see her as a daughter! To do so would be to spit in my actual daughter’s face, and to all the suffering she had to endure while this brat….threw parties!!!”
12. Crescenta, The Eager
Tumblr media
“The only one worse than Festivia is her second daughter (and the last entry, but you get it). This child is a psychopath, plain and simple. She brainwashes everyone, including herself! She sought to control my people, and was willing to lie and cheat everyone around her in order to do so. I guess seeing a prejudice Mewman queen shouldn’t surprise me, but the fact that she hides her madness with a cutsie smile truly disturbs me. Not only was she a bigot, she was a blind one. She obviously had feelings for her monster friend, Emily! She was just…a sinister imp who was given too much power. I’d be happy to punch that stupid grin off her face any day!”
13. Solaria, Monster Carver
Tumblr media
“If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you’ll know that I’ve expressed many times how I feel about my dictator-in-law. The woman. Is. EVIL. Really, you only need to look at her name to see why! She’s a murderer, racist, sadistic tyrant! By far the most harmful to monsterkind! She didn’t just look down on us, she wanted to commit genocide! She terrified children, separated families, pushed us to the brink of starvation….It took many times before I was able to read her chapter all the way through. I felt so sick from her words and the innocent blood covering her pages…blood that could very well have belonged to friends of mine!
The multiverse is a funny place, yes? My mortal enemy gave birth to the love of my life. She didn’t deserve her though. I know how embarrassed she’d always act when Eclipsa approached the war with peaceful intentions. And then selling her like a horse to he-who-shall-not-be-named? She was despicable to everyone, even to her own family….”
——
Tumblr media
“And that was my list of Mewni Queens, from best to worst! I hope you all enjoyed it, and please feel free to give your input on my choices! See you next time!”

ok, so there’s a lot of problem that i have with the finale of svtfoe. it’s not just about the endgame pairing- well, that was a part of it, but that’s not what i want to talk about today.
the only positive thing that i will say about the finale is that the ending was very unexpected (at least for me). it wasn’t something predictable and it was unique- but it was still shit.
first of all- the whole “wiping out all magic” stuff. the writers portray this as the last and only solution that can stop the war, but at the cost of wiping out an entire race of sentient magical beings. mind you, beings that are capable of feeling emotions- that have friends and family- all wiped out in order to save another race, that is the monsters. that is literally mass genocide. so why isn’t there any potrayal of a moral conflict that the characters face through in the slightest?
like, first, star. she grew up with magic. she spent her whole life learning them. she loved and adored magical beings. yet she decided to kill it all in just a whisper of a spell? hello? did the writers have amnesia? magic was a big part of star’s life. this show is a show about magical princesses travelling from dimension through dimension using magic, after all. well, at least at first. yet there isn’t a conflict about this issue in the slightest??? instead, it was pushed aside for the dramatic & cliche starco conflict. she mourned for marco but didn’t feel any sadness about losing glossaryck (who was her mentor since she was an infant)? or MHC (some of them are assholes but she grew up with them)? or never seeing some of her friends ever again (kelly, uh. honestly i think that’s all besides kelly her friend is only tom, marco and pony-head)? how about her spells? she had an emotional bond with them. why can’t we get a conflict like in season one where she actually mourned for the loss of the unicorn inside her wand? that was a great conflict and the conflict portrays star as a character perfectly. she did grow up with magic, after all.
second, moon & eclipsa. why did they just gloss over the fact that they are going to commit mass murder- no, mass genocide to an entire race?? shouldn’t they experience atleast some kind of conflict about their descision? i know that there is no such thing as a clean war, blood will be shed in every war, but they really seem unapologetic and didn’t think twice about their descision.
third, marco. he had been friends with hekapoo for 16 years and is shown to be very close with her- but when she mentions that she’s gonna die he barely reacted. all she cared about was star. what?? “hekapoo’s going to die,, bUt I’M goINg tOoO bE SepERatEd fRoMm sTaRrrRr!1!1!! tHiS pRoBLeM is ClEarLY mOrE iMporTant tHanN mY FrIend’S dEaTh!!!”
another thing i want to complain about, why did mewni and earth cleaved together? did the writers made that up last second to shove starco to be together?? like there was NO explanation or foreshadowing. wow. just wow. this show is just like a fanfiction brought into life lmao.
also, star and marco’s unhealthy obsession with eachother. star and tom broke up yesterday. star and marco hook up the next day. star and marco are about to be seperated, and then they’re seperated, but when they’re seperated they decided that they wanted to be together and gave a big middle finger to their families and just. ran to meet eachother i guess. this just paints star and marco as very selfish people in my eyes.
i feel like as the story progressed the more and more the writers get amnesia and forgot all the plot and stories that was the core of this series when they first wrote it. season 1 & 2 was mainly about magic then season 3 came in with their plot about the injustice of bigotry against the monsters. this continued on until the last few episodes of season 4- where suddenly mina was suddenlly a villain and wanted to kill all monsters. ...what?? WHAT???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it’s just... i’ve spent 4 years being invested in this show and for it to end in such a shitty way just breaks my heart. there’s just so many questions left unanswered. so many plotholes. i just hated this ending. honestly, i’m just glad this show ended... but it was not satisfying at all. i feel like the show’s writers doesn’t care anymore and just wants it to be finished. i’m just gonna pretend that the show ended in cornonation and... start obsessing over other shows i guess.

Hypothetically, is it possible that Eclipsa and Globgor are going to have anymore children in your story? If Meteora travled to Earth for any reason what would she do there? When do you think you'll upload the first chapter of your story?
I have considered the possibility of another prince or princess but in the end I decided it wouldn't fit in the story. Eclipsa and Globgor are already stressed out and worried about Meyeora and they know the huge amount of pressure on her back. They don't want to bring another child into the madness. Maybe when things calm down but I can say with some level of confidence that there won't be any siblings for Meteora in the story. As for your second question... Spoilers ;) And for the third, I am really hoping I can start uploading this month. I am not making any promises and March is probably more likely but a girl can dream. I'd love to work on MTO all day if I could but college is engulfing me. (I'm one of the first students ever that are doing my current course and thus the government don't know what they're doing and have messed up multiple times.) Apoligies for the lack of content, I am as ready to see this story get going as much as the rest of you.

with tears in my eyes, i want to write down my fresh feeling on coronation and the effects of propaganda
globgor and eclipsa two beings who are regarding as the king and queen of evil who both turned out to be sweet and caring the entire crisis that surrounded this arc was spurred on by propaganda and it ruined the lives of so many
globgor ate mewmins and eclipsa loves him she by default must be evil
globgor is a monster so by default all monsters must be evil
this kind of thought plagued mewni for centuries but when we heard the perspective of these so-called “evil” people we learned that they are simply people
this is the importance of hearing perspectives the magic council (excluding rhombulos who knew what was happening) were so quick to jump to conclusions and revert to violence that they weren't willing to learn anything about globgor or eclipsa they just wanted to fight but that wasn't what was needed they let their past opinions shape current decisions and put people in danger because of it
despite globgor’s past crimes he was changed when he fell in love with eclipsa he saw the error of his ways and was willing to change that doesn't mean that what he did was right but he changed for the better
people can become stuck in their ways shown in rombulous and how he responded to eclipsa's cornination he was so desperate to incriminate eclipsa that he committed a crime himself rather than accept the changing times he put thousands of mewmans in danger and set globgor free in order to prove a point that wasn't even correct
the crimes of mewmans have racked up through the centuries setting them on equal footing with the crimes of the monsters there is no way to possibly make right what was wrong or bring back what was lost so its time to start something new monsters and mewmans coexisting with a monster and a mewman at the helm leading them
(this show has grown so much im so proud of Daron and everything shes accomplished im really gonna miss it)

Eclipsa from Star vs The Forces of Evil.
Send Me a Character
First impression: She is evil, I don't trust her much
Impression now: I stand my queen, she is the best ruler Mewnie could've have
Favorite moment: When she and Globgor were singing, that was so sweet
Idea for a story: I wish to know how she met her husband and how was relationship with her mom growing up
Unpopular opinion: Not unpopular opinion but more of a rant on how on earth there is people who ship her with a clearly teen boy, thats gross and straight up wrong
Favorite relationship: With Globgor and her daughter (cute famly vibes) and with Star, even if she wasn't her great great granddaughter I find it adorable
Favorite headcanon: She never liked to be seen as a princess or act like one, but she'll suck it up for the sake of Mewnie; however she'll secretly will snuck up to see the monsters and give them resources to live

Hey all Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m a day late sadly but I still wanted to post this short in celebration and because I’m a sucker for writing Starco and take any opportunity to do it. This features an older Starco, both 19 years old and engaged. Other than that I think the story speaks for itself! Also forgive me if there are any grammar errors, I didn’t really have time to edit this and wanted to get this out as soon as I could. Enjoy!
Today had been the worst Valentine’s Day ever. Not only was Star forced to spend the entire day away from her fiancé but that day was spent pushing her to the very limit of her patience. Star was not much of a patient person and that hadn't changed much with age. Even at the mature age of nineteen, Star was still an emotional creature and when something upset her it took time and effort to calm herself back down. And one of those things just happened to be spending one of the romantic days of the year away from her husband-to-be.
And maybe she could have calmed herself from that if she didn't spend the rest of the day, sitting through boring meetings or signing stacks and stacks of boring paperwork so that Eclipsa could enjoy the day with her husband.
Star told herself this was just part of the job being the mayor's assistant as she shredded probably the thousandth request form by the Monsters unit to put in a hot tub in the middle of their crowded office, but that did little to temper the bubbling pool of hate slowly building up inside her. And as she listened to one of the ex-Mewnian dukes complain for three hours straight about how rude humans were for not respecting his made-up rank, she told herself that she should be happy that at least Eclipsa and Globgor got to enjoy the day, even if she couldn't.
But the real nail in the coffin for her foul mood came when she had to cancel her dinner plans at the fancy restaurant her and Marco had been excited about for days. Hearing the disappointment in her Marco's voice had broken something inside her and she spent the rest of the day fighting back tears and explosions of anger.
She had hoped that if she hurried and finished up the last of her work she could spend the last few hours of the day with Marco but that rush had caused her to misplace a file and she had had to tear the whole room apart to find it, which meant she had destroyed any organization Eclipsa had for her paperwork and Star had stayed late to put things back the way they were supposed to be.
It was already close to midnight when she finally got to leave and she would have run straight home if Ludo hadn't appeared out of nowhere, excitedly greeting her and breaking into a long-winded rant about his life since they had last seen each other. Star tried to stay polite and patient but with every passing second she could feel her anger, exhaustion, and stress threatening to boil over. She had finally managed to interrupt Ludo's tale about how he won a basketball game without ever touching the ball and excused herself with the last bit of patience she had in her.
Star had ran the whole way home, getting about halfway there, when the universe had decided she hadn't suffered enough and started pouring down rain on her. And since she hadn't remembered an umbrella, by the time she stepped through the door of her house, she was completely soaked and fuming with rage.
She slammed the door shut with all her strength, somehow not snapping it in half, before kicking her drenched boots off and removing her ruined jacket. She groaned loudly, letting all the anger she had built up inside her out at once. She tried to squeeze all the water out from her dripping blonde locks, while complaining loudly to the empty living room. "I can't believe how awful today has been! It's just been one disaster after another! All I wanted was a nice, romantic day with the love of my life, but nooooooo." Star rolled her eyes, squeezing her hair so hard it was a miracle she wasn't ripping it out by the roots. "Instead I get one of the worst days of my entire life and I didn't even get a kiss from Marco!!"
Star flung herself onto the couch, screaming as loud as she could into one of the decorative pillows, muffling her voice so she didn't scare Marco. When she finally got the majority of her frustration out, she just lay there pathetically staring up at the ceiling, wishing she could redo the whole awful day.
Only… she couldn't actually see the ceiling. Or the rest of the living room for that matter, finally noticing that all the lights were off in the house, leaving her in pitch darkness that way too accurately fit her current mood. "Wait, why are all the lights off?" she pondered aloud, sitting up straight. She looked around the dark room in confusion, trying to search her tired brain for an answer that just wasn't there.
"Did Marco go to bed already?" Except Marco always left the lights on downstairs on nights where Star came home late. Then a new thought popped into her head and fear seized her chest. "Oh no, don't tell me we lost power!" she exclaimed, jumping to her feet.
She quickly flicked on the nearest lightswitch, shocked when the living room lights came on, the power still clearly intact. "Huh," Star said, turning the lights back off. "Then why does Marco have all the-"
The words died in Star's throat, whatever thought she was about to voice forgotten as something new and interesting caught her eye. There was a soft glow coming from the kitchen and Star silently walked towards it, curiosity tugging at every corner of her mind.
As she stepped into the next room a small gasp escaped her lips and she covered her mouth, tears forming in her eyes. At least a dozen brightly lit candles were scattered around the table, illuminating a picturesque, romantic dinner. Everyone of Stars favorite foods were there: Marco's mouthwatering nachos, two full bowls of Captain Blanches Sugar Seeds, even tacos covered in an unhealthy amount of sugar. At the center of the table was a beautiful bouquet of roses in a glittering glass vase, a small pink card leaned up against it. And finally, at the far end of the table rested her sweet, adorable Marco, passed out from what Star guessed to be exhaustion.
She was touched by the sweet gesture from her fiance, any residual anger leftover disappearing without a trace as her attention shifted to the kind and caring man she had fallen in love with. Star imagined it had taken a lot of work to set everything up and she couldn’t believe she was lucky enough to be about to marry someone who would put in that much time and effort just for her. She slowly crept over to the illuminated table, glancing over all the delicious treats her Marco had made for her and she noticed not a single one of them had been touched yet. Marco must have waited up for her.
Star cast a loving look at the snoozing Marco, gently brushing a hand through his soft bangs, causing him to subconsciously smile in his sleep. Her stomach growled interrupting the tender moment and she picked up a nacho chip, dripping in Marco’s famous cheese sauce before crunching on it eagerly. Even cold it was still delicious and she could help but hum in admiration, licking her fingers greedily. Even though her mouth was starting to water and her stomach was now growling like a wild animal she held off eating anymore since it wouldn’t feel right doing it while Marco was unconscious.
Instead she picked up the card, Marco had left out, flipping it open and reading the tiny print inside. She was again surprised by her fiance’s thoughtfulness as she recognized his handwriting. He hadn’t just gotten her a generic card for the most romantic holiday of them all but had actually taken the time to give her a handwritten note and Star felt her heart bounce around her chest. What did she ever do to deserve someone like Marco? The message itself was simple but heartwarming, filling Star up with even more love for her adorable bestie, reading, “Sorry our plans got ruined, hope this makes up for it a bit. Happy Valentine’s Day, Star. P.S. knew you might be back late so I left a note in case I fell asleep.”
Star giggled to herself, shaking her head at Marco’s honest and endearing personality, she really did love everything about him and couldn’t imagine anyone else making her so effortlessly happy. She laid the note back down before moving behind Marco’s chair, wrapping her arms around Marco’s neck. She buried her head in Marco’s hair, breathing in his scent, smiling warmly to herself. “Thank you, Marco,” she whispered sweetly.
Marco groaned, shifting a bit in his sleep. “Star,” he muttered groggily.
Star smiled, nuzzling his hair with her cheek, enjoying the way it tickled her skin. “Hey sweetie,” she replied brightly.
“Did you have a good day?” he asked, barely cracking open his eye so he could try and get a good look at his loving fiance.
Star paused, remembering how awful her day had been but here in that moment, holding the one she loved, staring into the warm glow of candlelight, and smelling the delicious home cooked meal Marco had made for her, she honestly didn’t even know why she had been so angry before. So she just said thoughtfully, “Yeah, I guess I did.”
“Oh good,” Marco whispered, before falling back asleep, Star giggling to herself. She planted a loving kiss on his forehead before pulling him up off the table, throwing his arm over her shoulder as she half-carried him upstairs and into bed. She would store the food away when she was done, it just wouldn’t be right to eat it without Marco there with her. And the very kind gesture had been enough to completely turn her entire day around, she would sleep peacefully knowing the day ahead would be spent beside the love of her life.
At the “mature” age of nineteen, Star Butterfly was still an emotional creature prone to anger or sadness but nothing cheered her up quite like her loving fiance, Marco Diaz.

OH MY GOD YOU REBLOGED MY DAVE LUCITOR POST!! Sorry, it's just that you inspired it, and I'm freaking out a bit. Thank you
oh you're welcome! I am happy my tom parent rants have not gone to waste! Yeah no when i first got into the show i was very curious about tom's family and parentage and i had been focused on figuring out what to expect from them when they showed up...only to find out they basically redid them entirely.
which is REALLY obvious now because of "The big guy" and stuff, to some extent it makes me wish we had seen these beta versions of tom's parents and what they were planning to do with them.
Part of me wonders if they just handed their plot to ludo's abuse story instead.
Granted, i don't mind what we got, but i feel it was a COMPLETELY missed opportunity for them to give tom MEWMAN AND MONSTER parents, and then proceed to not do ANYTHING with them.
They trade off this character arc for tom with abuse for him to have mixed parents and then proceed to not explore that at all, tom's old arc is replaced with nothing but more annoying romance plots to torture him.
they give tom a mewman dad and at the end of the day it means basically nothing, dude could've been a normal demon and nothing about the plot would've changed, it's so weird.
tom's parents are underused characters who should've been used more often to further the monster conflict and i stand by that statement, pure missed opportunity.
i might be a little into these very minor characters who are given next to no personality but dammit they have good designs and look like they could be so much fun, i'm so mad they only show up for two episodes when they wouldn't been PERFECT eclipsa/globgor paralells.
Dave especially could've been so interesting being a mewman ruiling a monster kingdom and being married to a monster but UGH!! Alas!
And now i've given wrath and dave more personality then the show did XD
They could've been amazing, i will never let it down.
Anyone i can recruit into my obsession with these two is a win in my book, i swear to god they are the most underused side characters in the entire show, and that's saying a lot.

SVTFOE SEASON 4 SPOILERS
mood: WHAT THE FK IS GOING OOON
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay. I just binge watched the last 3 episodes and like, my mind?? Anyway, read on for my thoughts long rant:
first of all— YES GLOBGOR AND ECLIPSA AND METEORA MAKE ME LIVE
second, a big F for Tom, because jeesus Star, that was a dick move. And yes, I understand that Star has been through a whole pile of crap, but that doesn’t disregard the fact that she kept avoiding the matter with Tom. Not just this time with her not wanting to go on the trip— but with the kiss too.
And what’s even more sad for Tom is that she says she needs time to figure things out, and then she goes straight to Marco on Earth. I know she never actually said she needed space— but damn if that wasn’t insinuated.
I just—I love Star, don’t get me wrong, but the way she’s been acting with Tom every time they interact just makes me feel bad //is it just me? Every time Star just talks to Tom it seems like there’s a forced or distant vibe//
Anyway, point is— Tom has grown as a character (as shown by his reaction: giving her space, not angrily lashing out, and even offering to talk once she’s figured things out) and he really deserves some love.
Third, Meteora and Mariposa. I don’t know how I feel about them going to that dimension. Like, they’ve been reverted back to babies, but do they remember???? When Marco came back, he remembered everything. With the girls... we don’t know. And if they do, it’s just... weird? Personally, I wanted to see Meteora and Mariposa just grow up naturally! Especially Meteora with Globgor and Eclipsa as a freaking family! Like, when Meteora turned back to a baby the first time, she had hit the reset button basically (and left with strong hatred towards Marco). And now, they’ve basically just grown up without their families?! I don’t know... it didn’t feel right to me. Even though it was cool seeing them older :/

something I noticed is that svtfoe is very good about parallels.
in this case, parental figures and adult relationships.
marco's parents are stellar when it comes to both raising their child and loving each other.
they are loving, supportive, and do their best to make their home safe and welcoming for both their son and his friends.
they make mistakes of course but they are willing to admit them and their son never doubts that he is loved and understood.
it's one of the reasons star loves earth so much: she feels loved there.
as a couple, the Diaz make time for themselves and are still very much in love.
they remind me of Gomez and Morticia Addams a lot actually.
now let's compare this to star's parents.
moon is cold and aloof, more concerned with appearances than her daughter's happiness.
river is on the opposite side of the spectrum, but just as unhealthy. he sees star as a playmate and does not offer any sort of guidance, even when it's desperately needed.
moon and rivers relationship is also very unhealthy.
river worships the ground she walks on and is unable to see her flaws.
meanwhile, moon is somewhat indifferent to river and doesn't seem to even care for him that much. this could just be her naturally standoffish nature but her lack of communication with him is still very unhealthy.
they are in stark contrast as both parents and a couple to not only the Diaz family, but also globgor and Eclipsa.
Eclipsa and globgor are new parents, but they have made it clear already how much they support their daughter for who she is. a large part of this most likely comes from their status as an inter-cultural couple.
they make sure that Meteora is included in their lives and socialized with both adults and other children. this is the opposite of star, who was raised almost primarily by the castle guards and servants.
they also are incredibly supportive of star herself, who is rather like a pseudo-daughter at this point. Eclipsa always makes time to listen to her and help her feel safe. I think because she knows how lost star can be sometimes without loving parents. Eclipsa has been in the same boat: she gets it.
the relationship between Eclipsa and globgor is also quite beautiful and healthy.
unlike moon, Eclipsa sees globgor as her equal and their relationship as a partnership. she refers to him very often as 'my love' and there's never a moment when it's not clear how deeply she cares for him.
and globgor, unlike river, tells his wife when she is doing something wrong. like the mind spell. he loves her immensely, but he does not fear her reaction if he disapproves of something. because their relationship is based on mutual love and trust.
they are imperfect and make mistakes too. mainly in the form of their role as leaders of mewni. but I think if given the chance they would have really grown and become much better at their jobs.
what I want to conclude this rant is this:
when I first started watching svtfoe, moon and river struck me as unhealthy and loveless.
after four seasons, that has not changed and I doubt that it will.
what I hope to see from the ending of the series is for star to cut ties with these people and have a happy and healthy life with the diaz family and possibly Eclipsa and globgor.
it would be such a good message for the young children in the audience to learn that you are not required to stay with people just because you are related to them.
sometimes your real family are people you meet later in life.

So! Finale! You know we're all going to pester you until you tell us all you thought about it, right?
Yes Iknow :PSo well, I think I can talk about it for a while ^ ^
Okay, let’s be honest. Not talk about it, rant about it for a while >:)
Sorant time? Rant time!
Firstof all, I have to say that I’m loving creators are giving series theirrespective endings. I remember before, many series got cancelled beforereceiving a proper one. Luckily today is the season of finishing stuff ^ ^ Iloved that Nick greenlit Arnold’s Jungle Movie. I waited for so long for that.I thought it was impossible to have it but yay!
Also, we’re having more Invader Ziiiim, yas! I hope they do the promised seriesfinale cause it looks very interesting.
Backto the original topic, well, as all you know I have SVTFOE series and Starco ina place close to my heart. It was an overall enjoyable series. That said, Ineed to point that as much as I enjoyed watching the ending and that they gaveus Starco at the end, I feel some happenings a bit messy, can I say?
Surelymany people will disagree with me but I think the whole “Destroy themagic" arc (or mini arc, since it was brought up like that in thesecond to last episode) wasn’t necessary. I mean, creators could want to give us a messageand all but for a show with the premise of a magic princess fromanother dimension, for me it doesn’t fit much. That idea was the one thatcharmed all of us, why to take it away?
Tumblr media
Why…?
Infact, I dunno if I’m the one with the unpopular opinion but I loved, LOVED theEarth episodes. That was the setting that brought us into the show and itworked so well with Star being the foreign and unaware of the new world magicalprincess. It was easy to enjoy her crazy shenanigans while Marco tried to teachher about his home. And it was funny because well, we all know a fountain it’snot a monster, so it was enjoyable how Star kept mistaken familiar stuff X)By switching to Mewni, well, we ended being the foreigners and, it wasn’t thatcharming to me cause I don’t know anything about dragon cycles and it’s logicaleverything is strange. So Star leading Marco through her world wasn’t as funny asthe opposite. I really thought Mewni eps will not last the two last seasons, butwell.
So inthe topic of the episode, I felt like they went too far with Moon. She’s nowthe one who caused the destruction of Magic… ouch.
Andfor the magic itself… It was really a good idea to wipe out all the magic andmagic beings of all the multiverse to… save a single kingdom?Don’t take me wrong, I wanted Mewni to be safe but why to put the characters tomake that kind of decision? Am I missing something? because that doesn’t looked like a multidimensional threat. For me that was like wiping out all theweirdness of Gravity Falls.
Andthen, when you finish the show and start figuring out things, you notice that, besides the obvious ones, they wiped out characters like Spider with a top hatthat actually had complete episodes in the series… and they didn’t even saygood bye or anything.
Tumblr media
My poor boy :(
That’s messy. Am I supposed to laugh at the MHC dead on atable? I mean, I don’t know, I would prefer a different resolution. Good thingabout it? It made Toffee interesting again, cause… he won.
Tumblr media
Surprise indeed u.u…
Characterswe used to like as Kelly, ended severed from their friends’ dimensions withoutknowing what happened at all. Sounds a bit selfish…
Anyway you know?Personal theory that would sound like denial but after all that, I think magicis not gone completely. Maybe they referred to “magic you can control”, becauseraw magic still exist it seems. How can Ponyhead fly and sparkle? Please don’tcome with “Not magic”, cause dude… How can monsters do their things like Globgoraugmenting his size?
Yes, maybe it’s“just a plothole” but the thing is there, isn’t it? ^ ^
Continuing, Idon’t think I like completely the Earth + Mewni fusion but it’s interestingenough. Wonder how both worlds will manage.
Tumblr media
That’s something…
Nice things aboutthe ep? Well, first one is we got Star and Marco together. I was hoping we willnot get a “And they lived separated for the sake of one kingdom” ending, and wedidn’t get that! ^ ^
Yeah, I will rantagain about it not happening way before but just in the two last episodes… butheck, I’m looking at the bright side here :3
Pretty much, every bit I liked was Starco related, like them both running at each other. Idunno if I’m more trash than I thought or the rest of the stuff wasn’t sointeresting.
Oh, oh! The lastJanna moment was endearing. I love when they give presumably one note characters theirdevelopment moments. It was nice to see her worried episodes before about notbeing able to help and how she uses her snarky attitude to avoid herself fromunwanted situations. Also it was nice to see her opening to Marco and telling himhe’s her friend. I would be pissed if she ended being just the “LOL Janna iswacky, she always pwned Marco” and that was all. It was nice. I would like tosee her after that tho. Last moment we saw her was when faking her dead.
Talking aboutthat, I feel like the ending lacked closing for many characters/stuff. It letmany stuff unanswered. It can be a nice thing. Maybe we will have some comicafter this just like GF did? I just hope, if they do, we can have a completething and not a cancelled one like past comics. I was left waiting for therest!
Okay, I don’tthink this is the kind of rant you were waiting for, since it’s a bit harsh onthe ending, but I love the series and I wanted something different and a bitless rushed.
Lately, I’vefeeling many endings don’t completely fulfill my expectations and I’ve beenthinking if it’s because we fans build upso much said expectations and I will never like an ending anymore but aftera while, I think it’s not the case. I sure think that as much as I enjoyed theeps while watching, they can be much better. Maybe writers are training inmaking endings since before we didn’t even have them :P
Again, it’s nice to have another ending. We will miss the series and I think I need to say congrats to the people who completely liked the ending. You got all what you were waiting for ^ ^
Well, I thinkthat’s all, at least for now. I know this topic has so much to talk about butlet’s stop here since I’ve written so much. We have Starco anyway :D
Tumblr media
Canon Starco :D No kiss…? Oh well ^ ^

So, catch up on Star? What did you think? Also, I'm still up for illustrating or something for "Hekapoo Comes to Earth".
Yup, finished the show a couple months back. I made a post about my initial thoughts on the finale around that time.
As much as I admire the crew for trying to do something bold and tell a story where the hero is on the losing end of a fantastical version of an all too real societal problem and giving us Starco in the end, the way it all turned out just felt wrong. There were a lot of mixed messages in the delivery, a lot of characters who I felt were either miswritten (e.g. Star, the MHC, Moon, Solaria,) or completely shafted (e.g. Globgor, Toffee, Eclipsa, Tom) in order to make this finale work and just the tone of this last season was all over the place.
It felt like they were trying to do more worldbuilding and more twists while also trying to make time for teenage drama and awkward comedy, and then trying to wrap it all up in a hard-hitting finale. One minute it’s about trying to figure out what do about a centuries old-system built on lies and hatred, the next we’re worried about who Marco and Star will end up with. Oh, but we can’t forget to throw in some wacky awkward situations like Pony Head abducting Eclipsa to manipulate the masses and heaven forbid we don’t include a prolonged gag about moving couches in a mythology and relationship-centric episode!
There’s a lot of stuff involving how the themes of the show that were undone by what it did certain characters. The most damning example I’ve found was how Toffee was written off as pure evil because he risked the lives of his fellow monsters and some teenagers in a misguided quest for justice, whereas Solaria was able to reconcile with her family and was ultimately counted among the forces of good despite the fact that her legacy was waging a brutal genocide campaign against a native population.
I could rage and rant about all of the problematic implications that Star managed stacked up by the time it was over, but if I could describe my final thoughts on the show as simply as possible is to compare it to the ending of Cleaved: at first it looks like a really cool, really fun mashup of two different worlds (slice-of-life comedy and fantasy drama, to be specific) but when you look back at how it all came together, it just falls apart and loses a lot of its charm in the process.
It’s not my least favourite cartoon anymore, but it’s not one of my all-time favourites now either.
Ah yes, “Hekapoo Comes to Earth.” Unfortunately, between my other projects, college plans, the MASSIVE backlash H-Poo’s been facing, and my own conflicting feelings on her character and Markapoo, I’ve haven’t been motivated to work on it as of late. But if you want to keep making scenarios and drawings, I’d be happy to offer some ideas.

Globgor Rants #2
Rating Mewni Matriarchy prt.1
Tumblr media
"I was once asked how I would rank the queens of Mewni, from best to worst. I uh...kind lost of the ask somehow, but I never forgot about it! I did some research in the Book of Spells and gave it some thought. Without further due, here's my ranking of the Queens of Mewni, from best to worst!"
1. Eclipsa, The Queen of Darkness
Tumblr media
"I mean, are you surprised? Of course my beloved is on the top of the list! My obvious bias aside, she's beautiful, strong, kind, and was the first Mewman royalty to realize the error of her people's ways. She was always so strange to everyone around her, even to me as much as I loved her. She never let that intimidate her though. She's always been proud of what makes her different, and she loves what makes you different! She's been through so much, but she still chooses to treat everyone politely and forgive all those who have wronged her. She found an angry young monster filled with hatred and instead of fearing him, she chose to befriend him and later love him. She changed my heart, and she could've done the same for so people if she hadn't been surrounded by so many intolerant imbeciles!"
2. Star, The Underestimated
Tumblr media
"My would-be great-something granddaughter! Okay, I know we're not related in the slightest, but I sure wish we were! I love this child to death. She is an absolute angel. She saved me, and more importantly, my family. She was the one who finally opened the eyes of Mewmans and made them realize the unfairness thrown at my people for centuries. She made every one of my dreams come true, and I will never be able to pay off my debt to her. So for those of who still think she acted selfishly during the fight with Mina, you're wrong. There's not a selfish bone in that girl's body. If anyone's unhappy, maybe you shouldn't throw all your burdens on a poor, teenage girl!"
3. Jushtin, The Uncalculated
Tumblr media
"What's funny is I actually only met this king (queen?) one time in my life. Although Eclipsa told me many positive stories about him, he still worked along with his evil sister to suppress my people. He held on to his prejudice beliefs for most of his life, so why is he so high on my list? Well, because his love for Eclipsa was so great, that when our relationship was finally revealed to Mewni, he actually accepted it.
When she and I got married, it was important to me that she had some kind of family at the wedding. So I snuck into the Butterfly Castle and asked him to give her away. To my surprise, he eagerly agreed, just because he was so happy to be able to see her again. He was part of the wedding, and he told her he was glad that she was finally happy. He never told anyone where we were hiding. So yes, even though he was my enemy for many years, he must've been as good as Eclipsa says if he was willing to change his views for her!"
4. Moon, The Undaunted
Tumblr media
Okay, here we go. Truth be told, I wasn’t looking forward to talking about Moon. This woman is very annoying. She’s got an attitude like she knows everything when clearly she doesn’t! She’s a snob, and a racist one at that. Worst of all, she acted like she was Eclipsa’s friend and then stabbed her in back! By using ME as leverage! She almost killed me!
So why is she #4? Well…..unlike with the other Queens who rank beneath her, I can at least understand why she did what she did. That doesn’t make it right, but she was handed the throne at a very young age. Her people have depended on her for most of her life, so it’s not like she’s had any time to self-reflect and change her views. I too have done pretty awful things for the sake of my people. I guess I don’t hate Moon, because at the end of the day, she does have my respect. Maybe even my sympathy. She just….needs to make it up to Eclipsa before I can call her a friend. My love was hurt, and it’s going to take a lot for me to look past that.
5. Celena, The Shy
Tumblr media
“I actually don’t have a particular reason I like this queen. She just seems like a bit of a sweetheart, and considering the fact that her father is a demon, wouldn’t that make her the first hybrid to rule Mewni? (Although technically that role should’ve belonged to MY daughter, but let’s not go there). If she really was part demon, then she automatically gets brownie points from me! Plus it must have been pretty hard to have a mom that spoke in riddles all the time…”
6. Skywynne, Queen of Hours
Tumblr media
“It’s true that prejudice only gets worse the further back in time you go, but still…..this queen literally had to start from the ground up. Granted, it was our ground, but I digress. She worked very hard to make a prosperous life for her people, and she’s responsible for the Mewmans coming together to form a functioning kingdom. I guess that should make me resent her, but….dang it, as an ex-king I can’t help but admire her dedication and leadership.”

Is Marco a useless punch bag in Seasons 3-4. It seems like he was forgotten and many of his important stuff either happened offscreen or shoved aside in favor of TomStar or Butterfly family plots. Does Nefcy or Cotugno even care about Marco when he's useless for half the series. Cornonation and Cleaved barely show him for half the episodes. By the way, Globgor's character, expected to be ambigious but scrapped to cliche jokester and nice character.
I think the major problem is that Marco was practically turned into a tool the writers could use for drama instead of a character most of the second half of the series. Part of this might have been that he really didn’t need much more growth compared to Star, who really didn’t change much over the first 2 seasons (or the last 2 seasons...but that’s another rant). So they shoved him to the back except when it was convenient to Star’s drama. I know she’s the title character, but the show was set up more as a duo so forcing Star out front even more while giving Marco less to do even when he’s proved himself able just came across as awkward or annoying.
Who knows, maybe they just realized how much of the fandom saw the show as basically a western harem anime and decided to shift focus. For other things like Globgor where there was build up, I’d just assume they never really got out of the episodic mindset from early in the show. So when they tried to be serious later it didn’t work. But then that just invites criticism when you try to ham-fist in a serious lesson like racism but don’t commit (or worse, turn the final message into one telling pre-teens that their feelings as teenagers are worth giving up their entire lives for. But that’s yet another rant)

Assuming Jushtin is alive, how does he feel about his niece and brother in law? Is he still married to Reclusia Spiderbite?
Jushtin is still alive! Since everything is canon up until Solaria’s assassination (except for some things I have to make up to fill in the gaps) he is still married to Recluza. They live in the Spiderbite Kingdom together. Jushtin doesn’t think the spiders are cool but he’d do anything for his boo. (Something I imagine him saying.) From day one he has loved Eclipsa. Eclipsa often went to him in her youth when she wanted to rant about her mother. He’s actually the first one on her side of the family to know about her and Globgor’s relationship after Eclipsa cried to him when Solaria started pressuring Eclipsa to accept Shastacan as her future king. He’s quite conflicted. He knows Eclipsa had strong opinions when it came to love and arranged marriage isn’t cool... but on the other hand, he had seen the war. He knew what monsters were capable of. He didn’t meet Globgor until the events of the prologue chapter (you’ll see when it comes out) but after talking to him and seeing how much he loved Eclipsa, he was fine. Some monsters might want to kill every Mewman but others don’t. He’s very friendly with Globgor and puts him at ease when Solaria makes things too tense. (When he’s present in Butterfly Kingdom, of course.)

STVFOE Spoilers Rhombulus Rant
Idk man I just...they pulled an actual homestuck Gamzee with Rhombulus and ugh. In other words SUDDENLY VILLAIN. Like yea I get it, they both had potential and cause to be bad and I guess Gamzee doing that really helped the plot along so whatever not cool with it but whatever. Rhombulus however??? You’re literally in the last season of the last few episodes my guy you couldn’t have thought of a better way of freeing Globgor outside of oh let’s make Rhombulus the bad guy for little to no reason?
It’s just... I sympathized with Rhombulus. Glossaryk is his dad if that’s any indication this boi deserves sympathy... and like literally no one in the existence of their reality cares about him or gives a shit about him outside of like his own two hands I guess? And even it’s shown in the Fritz episode that Star has more empathy for Rhombulus than his own hands because she takes out the time to actually talk him down instead of going “AH CRAZY GUY CALL THE POLICE HIT HIM WITH BAT”. I mean it’s implied that Lekmet did care about Rhomb but now he’s dead and notice how Rhombulus’s feelings on this are never brought up by anyone on the show. No one goes “Oh hey Rhombulus sorry the only person that cared about you in all reality died. That must’ve been rough buddy you wanna talk about it?”. No one says that. No one cares. Rhombulus just goes back to being alone and serving the magical dimensions to his best ability as a member of the HC because why would his emotional state matter??? Owait that’s how we got the fucking sudden villain fiasico.
Maybe if someone had just taken out the time to say “Hey Rhombulus, you matter” literally none of this would’ve happened. But instead he gets a dad that constantly antagonizes him/has no feelings of love for him whatsoever, the only person that cared about him dies, he’s constantly ridiculed by like anyone who knows him as the “time out guy”, and he gets tortured in various horrific ways by Eclispa new queen of Mewnie.
You put the dude through all of this only to write him off as a villain at the last moment??? It’s cruel. Lmao it’s just ridiculously cruel. Rhombulus 100% deserved better than this.
