I never went from delighted to heartbroken so quickly as I did in this chapter. I was so happy that Rhombulus had finally found something to take care of and spend time with, and it felt like everything was going to be fine, and then by the end of the episode that happened, and my legit reaction was "Nooo, my baby!", which was when I realized how much I care for Rhombulus.

But anyway, taking that aside I liked that chapter and the moment the kittens appeared I knew I had to draw them.

So let me explain their designs. Since I only had their colors I decided to base their patterns on their names.

Shard: The porcupine one on the left. I made his fur to be very pointy and made his patterns look like broken glass, also adding it to his eyes.

Crystal: The one on the right. I made his fur slick in most parts but have some pointy parts, like a Crystal. Also there are the obvious crystal-like patterns in his fur and eyes. I made the patterns of Crystal and Shard in the same places since they're twins.

Meteor: The one trying to climb Rhombulus' head. I tried to make it remind a meteor with the pattern and the tufts of fur. Not sure if it looks like it, but I liked it. Also the pattern in his eyes is supposed to remind a meteor shower.

Star: (He named the tiny orange one Star! Ahhh-dies of cuteness). She's just Orange. I thought about putting in some red patterns but decided against it. I made her tail and fur based on Star hair, and her ears are the format of Stars' hairband's horns.

You can't see her eyes, but they would probably have Stars as a pattern.

Also, I made all their eyes purple because I wanted them to have something familiar since I made them so different from each other.

Currently getting back into my Rhombulus Rewrite a bit, and oh god has it spread beyond just rewriting Rhombulus. Yes, I did make an ending to his story that fits with canon, but I also wanted to make a version of the finale that brings a legitimately satisfying end to his story. Part of the point of the rewrite was making him a more fleshed out character and even a major one, but without replacing Star as the protagonist. And it's hard to write an interesting ending to the character when the rest of canon is still shit.

Then I thought of an interesting idea that would result in tying Mina and Rhombulus together in a way, as well as connecting to one of the major themes of the show (and the rewrite). This caused me to add some changes to Mina during my rewrite.

Then things got a bit out of hand and it lowkey became the Rhombulus (and Mina) Rewrite. Then I realized that I couldn't rewrite Mina without rewriting some of the main plot for Season 4. Then I finally decided "fuck it, let's just rewrite the majority of the finale and much of the plot of Season 4. We'll keep some of the stuff we already changed and the episodes we still kept, but the whole Mina subplot will need to be completely reconstructed from the ground up."

Next thing I know, I'm writing out multiple scenes that have nothing to do with Rhombulus and I'm crying over Mina's new death scene.

God I am so excited to release my next proper Rhombulus Rewrite post.

Star Butterfly

Star is a bisexual with a preference for men, she’s a demigirl that uses she/her they/them.

Marco Diaz

Marco is a bisexual with a preference for women, says cis male or bigender, but is a trans woman that uses she/her he/him, but secretly only like she/her.

Thomas Lucitor

Tom is a panromantic demisexual with no preference, questioning gender and is testing out other identities excluding woman, but currently identifies as trans demiboy that uses he/him they/them.

Jackie Lynn Thomas

Jackie is a Pansexual with a preference for Women, she’s a demigirl that uses she/her they/them.

Janna Ordonia

Janna is a Bi Demiromantic asexual with no preference, They are agender that uses she/her they/them he/him and neopronouns, but prefers they/them.

Oskar Greason

Oskar is either a straight or biromantic demisexual, he’s a trans Demi boy that uses he/him they/them.

Flying Princess Ponyhead

Ponyhead is a heterosexual Autoromantic ally, she’s a cis woman that uses she/her.

Eclipsa Butterfly

Eclipsa is a straight demisexual ally , she’s a cis woman that uses she/her.

Globgor

globgor is a straight demiromantic asexual ally, he’s a cis male that uses he/him they/them.

Moon Butterfly

Moon identifies as straight, but is bi-curious, she’s a ciswoman that uses she/her.

River Butterfly

River is straight and still trying to understand the concept for Star and her friends, he is a cisman that uses he/him.

Meteora/Heinous

As Heinous she identified as straight and forced herself in the closet because she was convinced it was wrong and disgusting by St. Olga, identified as cis woman and used she/her.

As Meteora will be sapphic either bisexual or lesbian, they will be non-binary and use they/them and she/her with a preference for they/them.

Mariposa Diaz

Mariposa will either be a lesbian, straight ally or questioning, she’ll either be cis woman or questioning and identifies as a cis woman and use she/her.

Hekapoo

Hekapoo was homoromantic and omnisexual with a preference for women/femininity, she was a transwoman that used she/her.

Rhombulus

Rhombulus was a gay demiromantic, he was a transman that used he/him.

Omnitraxus Prime

Omnitraxus was an Omniromantic asexual with a preference for non-binary, he was omnigender with a preference for Masculine and used all pronouns, but mostly he/him.

Lekmet

Lekmet(rip) was a straight, gay or bi demiromantic demisexual, he was a cis (demon goat)man that used he/him it/its.

Mina Loveberry

Mina is a lesbian, she’s a ciswoman that uses she/her.

Ludo Avarius

Ludo is gay, he’s a cis man that uses he/him they/them.

Dennis Avarius

Dennis is aroace, he’s a cis man that uses he/him.

The Magic High Commission are hypocrites! They had Meteora removed as heir to the throne of Mewni (and the Royal Magic Wand) because they feared what would happen if a monster gained the power of magic. They forgot that, as a half-Mewman (of the royal bloodline, no less), Meteora already had the potential for powerful magic within her, even without the wand.

Even, after she turned into an infant, they locked her in a cage, and didn’t care to put to safety, I also bet they were going to crystallize her along with her parents.
