EVERYTHING about the second season of good omens that we have seen so far has me completely obsessed. it is literally everything i have dreamt of and i can't believe i get to just watch it all unfold before my two very eyes. jealous crowley??? give it to me !!!! the slow realization that they've been in love this whole time??? yes!!!! the painful pining, tiptoeing around each other because they just don't know how to proceed, this whole time they've had an excuse for being around each other because essentially they had to 'thwart' one another and had the arrangement but now they are completely free of their respective offices and now comes the question of 'oh, what actually are we?'. not to mention that they're celestial beings whose relationship exceeds any human understandings so they don't even know how to go about defining each other. and in the new clip released today we see aziraphale hesitate when he says 'he and i...go back a long time', because perhaps he wanted to say more but he isn't sure where they stand either and what crowley is okay with and i want to HUG neil gaiman for creating the most delicious dynamic i've ever seen in any piece of media. them eventually and finally coming together in the end will make me explode with the pent-up feelings of having to watch them slowly realize that their beings are interlaced and one can't exist without the other; they exist only because the other exists and they only make sense together. and they will find their ultimate purpose and meaning in love and in each other.
I've been thinking about the response the Sonic team gave to this answer SO MUCH and I just can't help but wonder about the implications of it.
youtube
They immediately turn it into a "Does Shadow hate Sonic" question and completely ignore the fact that Sonic is supposed to answer wether or not he hates Shadow too. I'm guessing the original intention was to imply that Sonic can't possibly hate Shadow because Sonic doesn't hate anyone, but I don't think that fits his character. (Or maybe they didn't want to encourage any Sonadow shippers, the fuck do I know?) All I can think of is how everyone else goes along with the notion that Sonic doesn't have to answer the question because whatever his answer would be should be obvious...
And that makes me have so many headcannons...
All of the angsty misunderstandings! I can easily see Shadow interpreting Sonic's refusal to answer as Sonic obviously hating him but not wanting to say it. Sonic does tend to say unintentionally hurtful things at times. (And in the IDW universe Sonic literally implies that Shadow IS AS BAD AS EGGMAN TO SHADOW'S FACE.) It would explain why Shadow is so ready to throw insults of his own at Sonic. Meanwhile, Sonic, not reading the room because he is neurodivergent as fuck, just refuses to answer because why should he when the answer is "obvious". Now THAT is an angsty ship dynamic I can get behind: character A likes character B but is so bad at communicating that they unintentionally make character B think that they hate them. It's so fuckin sad and also kind of hilarious.
Summary of the angst:
Sonic: *I don't need to answer the question because it's obvious to everyone that I don't hate you and I'm not brave enough to admit that I like you yet.*
Shadow: *He doesn't need to answer the question because he has made it pretty clear in the past just how much he hates me.*
the only s2 azicrow dynamic i'll accept: crowley having The Worst Timeβ’, in love and pining like there's no tomorrow, wondering just how slow he has to go for aziraphale to love him and crying into his car seat every night vs aziraphale happily going cake tasting and picking out the table cloth for their wedding.
The bad faith brain rot regarding oppenheimer has officially reached the point of "portrayal always equals endorsement" with a side of "a terrorist attack that killed 3,000 innocent people less than 25 years ago wasn't that bad actually, so just get over it you racist americans" and "there were absolutely no complicated factors regarding a nazi state that didn't even surrender when hitler killed himself"
pretty much this article exactly say my thoughts of why i just dont care about the submersible. they catastrophically imploded, which is the nice way out for them, and also they collectively had more money than any of us could ever dream of seeing in our lives (all billionaires have blood on their hands. btw)
put my thought and general ick around the way it has all been spoken about into words perfectly ^
(turned reblogs off bc i dont want this treated as a news source with people sharing without even reading the article first, which is also an opinion piece not breaking news or something)
