NCT Dream reaction: Your Song

Mark: Hold My Girl - George Ezra

Mark is a busy guy. He’s in multiple units and one of the more promoted members, so it’s safe to say that he doesn’t have much time for it to be just the two of you. So when he does get that chance it’s everything to him.

The lines resonate with Mark more than he’d like to admit. He wishes he could be there with you all the time. You bring calmness to him, sedating the hurricane that seems to always surround him. Life and work rushing past him all seem to come to a still when he has you in his arms.

His favourite memory of the two of you is when he was on tour and he’d managed to get some leverage with management to fly you out to meet him. He’d co-ordinated the date to fall over your anniversary and put together a whole itinerary for you to do including sightseeing, dinner and some much needed time together. In fact, one of the photos he took of you on that trip is his screensaver and he hasn’t changed it since the day it was taken.

But it was late that night that was the best moment of the whole trip in his opinion. You were lying in his hotel room together, an episode of “Friends” playing on the TV. His hand was stroking your hair as you hummed gently at the feeling. He looked down at you, his heart literally warming at the sight of you so close to him, falling asleep in his arms. And everything else in the world melted away.

All he needed was a second to hold his girl.

Renjun: Love Someone - Lucas Graham

Renjun had never really thought that love was in the cards for him. He thought maybe he’d find someone who he enjoyed spending time with enough to settle down, but that kind of mind numbing, earth shatter, fire igniting love that he read in books he just didn’t see happening.

And years later, that love was all around him. It was like you walked into his life and just set fire to it. Renjun didn’t know it was possible to be as in love with someone as he was with you. He felt as though his entire life was based around you. Everything he did was around and for you and your future together. You brought a new purpose to his life, a reason to live, someone to live for and fight for. Renjun could never put into words just how grateful he was that you loved him.

He held onto you and your smile. He couldn’t bear to think about ever losing you. The thought sent pure fear coursing through his veins. He wasn’t sure how life would ever be the same if you weren’t in it. The were no words to be said, no pictures to be drawn, no songs to be sang to describe how he felt.

Cause Renjun knew, nobody could love someone the way he loved you.

Jeno: Accidentally In Love - Kid Rain

Jeno had spent most of his life working towards where he is at this moment. All he had ever wanted was to be on that stage with his best friends, performing in front of millions. And he’d got it. It felt as though he had everything that there was to achieve, and yet, some part of him felt off.

Then he met you. When he did, Jeno had no plans to ever date - let alone fall in love. But before he knew it you were sat in front of him in a coffee shop talking about this joke at your work and he was laughing uncontrollably and that smile on his face simply wasn’t going away. And he fell faster than he could keep up with. One morning he was only focused on work and the next thing he knew all he could think about was you. All he could write was love songs and all he could listen to were love songs.

You became the topic of his thoughts, he sat down trying to write lyrics and all he could conjure were love songs, and the person he sang about often resembled you. No matter what he did he simply wasn’t able to get you out of his head. When he was on a break he found himself reaching for his phone, checking for messages from you.

He closed his eyes and you appeared behind them. But it was when he was in an interview and he was asked what he held dearest, he had to stop himself from immediately saying your name. And that’s when the reality hit him, and it was the most comforting feeling he had ever felt. You were always on his mind.

And he was accidentally in love.

Donghyuck: Run To You - Lea Michele

Someone who laughs to hides their insecurities. No sentence had ever summed up a person more than that one summed up Donghyuck. He was the jokester, the comedian, the sunshine personality, but there was a much deeper level to him that he swore to himself that no one would ever see.

There was a new wall surrounding him now. He didn’t need to hide himself, you kept him safe, protecting him like a guardian angel. And that was what he thought of you as. His guardian angel, sent from the heavens to love him. And he loved you back. My god did he love you back. He had found his home.

And when Donghyuck needed to feel safe, he would run to you.

Jaemin: You Are The Reason - Calum Scott

Jaemin had always dreamt of love. That was no secret. He wanted it all, the partner, the kids, the dog, the family homes, the early morning school runs - he wanted it all. Even with the life he had chosen, where normal was almost impossible to come by, he still yearned for it. And he finally saw that with you.

As soon as Jaemin first heard this song, he knew, this was the one he would play at your wedding. And that future he had always dreamed of became more and more like a reality and there was one reason.

Chenle: Tattoo - Loreen

Chenle had dealt with enough people telling him what to do with his life and how to live it. He’d been on TV on way or another since he was a kid, he’d come from a family where it was important to behave a certain way and keep up appearances, and his career demanded the same rules too.

He always knew how to act and what to say, Chenle carried a natural charm that’s hard to come by, and a character that made people love him as soon as they met him. You found it easy to love him. And as for loving you, Chenle had never found anything easier.

Loving you was like playing his favourite song on the piano, muscle memory. He didn’t have to think about it, it just came naturally. You became a part of him. A part of what made him who he was. Not the manufactured version for the cameras, but the unedited, uncensored version of him. He finally found that again.

You dug your way through the rehearsed replies, the practised movements and brought out who he truly was. And Chenle was blown away by your ability to do that. He knew that nothing but love could do this to him. It felt as though you were imprinted on his being. That when you died you be made into stars next to each other because you couldn’t be separated.

You were on his heart just like a tattoo.

Jisung: Enchanted - Taylor Swift

Jisung lived like he was seeing everything for the first time. There was some kind of sparkle that he sees in the world that no one else can. It was as if he was from some place else, like this world was mythical and filled with secrets that Jisung couldn’t quite figure out.

But you were a different secret entirely, one that he couldn’t understand at all. Yet you someone made everything make sense. It was like the world started to fall into place as he began to love you. The patterns shifted, the clouds parted and you smiled, and Jisung was starstruck.

He often lost himself staring at you. He could stare at you for hours, just watching the world move around you, conducting it’s mysteries around your person, bringing new adventures and tempting the both of you with new journeys to take together.

Jisung felt as though his entire life changed when you entered it. It was as if everything was kickstarted into action and he wouldn’t change it for anything this mysterious world had to offer him. He would never do anything alone again, he was never feel lost or confused again. Because you were there.

He was enchanted to meet you.
