Fognini tried his best to turn it around, but some error sprees at the pressure points could not help. This was visible specifically during the moments he could start turning the table, but the errors cost him the possible moment while [trigger warning] Seyboth Wild stayed true to his pace and kept holding on to his moment, hence the moment-regaining in the second and a dominant first set from his aggressive play alone. This might have explained why Fognini had a 100% break point conversion rate, but Seyboth Wild had 10 opportunities to break.
On the other hand, Seyboth Wild stood out from his first serves with a 81% winning rate, where he scored 4 more aces than Fognini to supplement this position. Somehow, Fognini's second serves were still troublesome as he was 13% behind Seyboth Wild with a 39% winning percentage, thus allowing Seyboth Wild to dictate the play in most occasions, and things fell apart quickly in the second set tie-breaker.
This title marked Seyboth Wild's fourth Challenger title of the year (after the Vina del Mar, Buenos Aires, and Como Challengers), making him the first person to achieve the feat this season. Furthermore, starting this season just outside the Top 400, he solidified his position in the Top 100 by landing at 75 live. On the other hand, Fognini is around 37 lines closer should he return to the Top 100, and he still had the singles game per the current state of this match, but there could be things he can build from here on.

@niobiumao3 I think another thing we need to discuss in the Bad Batch fandom is how we respect people’s interpretations of characters.
This is one example of a comment I got about on one of my stories. Obviously they were too much of a coward to comment from a real username, but it pretty much sums up the majority of hate comments I get.
People need to realize that having Tech be Aro or Ace or Autistic is literally 3 spectrums. You much know someone who is those three things and acts a certain way but you cannot expert Tech to act that way as well. There are Ace people who enjoy sex. There are Aro people who date. There are autistic people who have relationships. The idea that an autistic person cannot be happy in a relationship or a family is EXTREMELY harmful and ableist, as is assuming that an AroAce person is essentially a celibate robot.
Autistic people show their “passion” for people in a variety of ways. AroAce people show their love and attraction in a variety of ways.
You would not believe how many aroace and/or autistic people I have met who are offended by Tech’s relationship with Phee because Tech is not EXACTLY like them and/or their perceptions of an aroace/autistic person. Then they try to excuse their bigotry by “I just want more representation of people like me.”
For the last time….
IT.IS.A.SPECTRUM!!!!!!
You get representation by having aroace/autistic characters that showcase a variety of the traits from those communities. You cannot expect every person to be just like you or your perceptions of aroace/autistic people.

Let's meet our candidate!
Where is he from?
Genoa, NV
Where does he live?
Searchlight, NV
What's his livelihood?
He was a previous soldier in the Nevada militia before leaving for Searchlight, where he soon followed his childhood dream of enlisting as a deputy. After some time, he ranked up to become the town's sheriff.
What are his qualities?
Phillip has made a well-known name for himself, and his ego is possibly even bigger with the level of authority he commands and holds. As the Sheriff, he is protective over his people but demands the respect that he deserves for keeping the town safe. Though he is a hard-liner, he does have a soft spot for those he protects and is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He does live by his own code of ethics, being sure that any action is in the best interest, regardless of the consequences.
He describes himself as a cowboy casanova, someone with blue eyes that rival the sky on a clear day. He is a man who deserves respect in every aspect of his life, but will never mistreat the closest he gifts his love to. Phillip is looking for a spouse who is not meek or submissive to the challenges faced in the wild region but will give him the respect he deserves as a hard-working husband. He is searching for a spouse who will be able to keep a good face around the town and become well acquainted with the townspeople, to have the inside information and aid Phillip in keeping the peace. Despite the quick tongue and even quicker draw of his gun, he is a charming man to his core.
Biography
Phillip Graves was born in the settlement of Genoa, Nevada in 1885, the son of a Mormon pioneer family. He grew up in a strict and devout Mormon community and was raised with a deep sense of morality and justice. From a young age, he was drawn to justice and the rule of law, loving the idea of being able to enforce the law and serve the community, and he desired nothing more than to become a Sheriff.
As a young adult, he enlisted in the Nevada militia in his late teens, and he quickly distinguished himself as a capable and effective soldier. After several years of service, he returned to civilian life, but ultimately left the Mormon Community and moved to Searchlight, Nevada where he found a calling as a lawman. Phillip's passion for justice and dedication to the law led him to become a deputy in the Searchlight Sheriff's Department. He quickly rose through the ranks, and soon became a respected Sheriff in his own right.
He is a stern lawman, known for his uncompromising sense of justice and his relentless pursuit of criminals and rogues. Even through the harshness of his demeanor, however, he is also seen as a fair and honest man, and he is respected by the people of Searchlight and the criminal element alike. However, he was not above a little corruption now and then loving the thrill of bending the rules and taking great delight in using his position to get what he wants. He is known for his quick wit and cunning ways, being able to maneuver through some of the toughest situations.
Despite his sometimes corrupt ways, Phillip is a highly respected Sheriff in Searchlight. He is known for his fairness, his honesty, and his dedication to the law. Now, while he does love the life of getting to serve the people he protects, he also craves companionship and love after a long time of being too busy for romance. As he spends most of his days patrolling the streets and nights working on cases, he can't help but always feel like romance is something he is missing in his life, no longer a distraction from his duties.

[drum roll] It's here! I have posted the first two chapters of my @clonebang 2023 podfic. I worked with the incredible @ahsokastechie as a team on this project! Much much much appreciation to our third team member, @honeykiwis, who beta'ed the fic as well.
The fic is rated Mature and the written work can be found here.
It features the relationship between Tech/Phee, with background Crosshair/Mayday, and a lot about the Bad Batch crew as a family.
It's a High School Teachers AU!
Summary:
Tech has just been assigned a collaboration partner for Pabu High’s Steam Literacy and Understanding Taskforce - another item piled on his plate by an incompetent administration.
His partner? Phee Genoa, an unknown variable who challenges him to see the world differently.

Fognini tried to turn it around in the second set, but several things did not work out. By then, [trigger warning] Seyboth Wild took advantage of Fognini's error sprays, shifted the moment back when Fognini hung on well pacing-wise, but the tie-breaker was how everything ended.
It all started thanks to Fognini cracking down Seyboth Wild's defenses, until the latter missed his response to Fognini's forehand down-the-line attempt, enabling the Italian to score his break point before Seyboth Wild's netted forehand gave the former the break (1-0). After consolidating to 2-0, Fognini's volley several shots after his drop shot almost opened the path to double the break, but Seyboth Wild held his service game to 2-1. However, the momentum could not be kept as a result of his own errors, hence Seyboth Wild got the break-back to level the match.
Fast-forward to the eleventh game of the match, Fognini almost broke again when he set himself 2 points ahead thanks to a forehand winner. However, Seyboth Wild appeared clutch to hold that service game, followed by Fognini's hold that set the tie-breaker up. Seyboth Wild started the tie-breaker with a double fault, but Fognini's netted backhand resulted in the Brazilian's equalizer. It was followed by his backhand winner, which became an important differential before everything went downhill for Fognini, but Seyboth Wild could not serve it out due to a netted forehand finish. Unfortunately, Fognini's backhand rush did not help him minimize the gap either, hence Seyboth Wild took the second set 7-6(3) and won his fourth Challenger title of the year.

Born in a small village in Genoa, Italy, Harmonia grew up in a loving family, surrounded by the warmth of tradition and community. From a young age, she possessed a natural talent for knitting, a skill she learned from her grandmother. The rhythmic click of the needles became a soothing soundtrack to her life.
As Harmonia matured, she developed a deep appreciation for the arts and culture of her country, particularly its classical music and literature. Her passion for knowledge led her to study literature at a prestigious university in Rome, where she delved into the works of great Italian writers and philosophers. It was during this time that she developed a love for poetry, finding inspiration in the words of Dante, Petrarch, and Leopardi.
In her early twenties, Harmonia met Dimitri, a charming Russian exchange student. She sought refuge in a small seaside town, where she found solace in the crashing waves and the serenity of a cottage nestled among the colorful houses.
Knitting had become Harmonia's sanctuary, a way to process her emotions and channel her creativity. She spent countless hours in her cottage, surrounded by skeins of yarn and the gentle click of her needles. As she honed her craft, her skill attracted the attention of other women in the community, and the "Tight Knit Gang" was born. Napoleonic daily soap, episode 3: extra challenge – no Napoleon screentime!
Scene: Marseille. View of ships in the harbour, seagulls circling.
CUT to new scene: Small, dark bedroom, small stripes of daylight falling in between closed shutters. Sounds of seagulls screeching outside. Letizia kneeling in front of a small madonna figurine on her nightstand. A candle burning next to it.
Letizia [mutters prayers in Latin]
Sounds of a badly tuned piano coming from the next room. Somebody’s practicing a melody, failing every time. Laughter of girls.
Letizia [getting fed up]
„Dio Mio!“
Letizia [scrambles to her feet, yanks open the door to the next room, revealing Pauline and Caroline together in front of the piano, with Elisa sitting on the sofa, reading]
Letizia [in Italian]
„Paoletta! Annunciata! Do you want to drive your poor old mother crazy! Let Maria Anna play if you want to hear music, at least she can play!“
Caroline:
„But Mamma! How are we supposed to learn if we must not practice?“
Elisa [without looking up from her book, in a bored tone]:
„Also, as I’ve told you a dozen times already, don’t call me Maria Anna. It’s Elisa now.“
Pauline [mockingly]:
„Oh, of course, it’s Mademoiselle Elisa now. Because Mademoiselle has gone to school and has become all accomplished and distinguished and French. [To Caroline] We really should let her play, Annunciata. She needs to keep practicing those skills. After all, she’s so ugly she’ll never find a husband without them.“
Pauline and Caroline laugh. Elisa throws her book at Pauline, missing her.
Letizia [crossing her arms in front of her chest] „Stop this, and give your mother some rest. I’ll never understand why Joseph spent so much money on this instrument anymway. If you girls want to find a husband, better learn cooking.“
Elisa, Pauline and Caroline [role their eyes, make different exasperated sounds]
Elisa:
„Mamma, I don’t think any of us girls plans on marrying someone unable to afford a cook.“
Pauline:
„Ya betcha!“
Letizia [regarding Elisa]
„In this case you better really practice whatever skills you have to attract a husband. Wealthy men look for beauty, or a dowry. Unless Joseph manages to squeeze some more money out of his Clary relations or finally has some success with his money making scheme in Genoa, none of you will have a dowry.“
Pauline:
„I don’t need no stinking dowry. I’m beautiful enough.“
Letizia [gives her a stern look but ends up smiling]
„You sure are, darling. But it still wouldn’t hurt if you knew how to gut a chicken. That goes for you, too, Annunziata.“
Caroline:
„Caroline.“
Letizia:
„What was that?“
Caroline:
„I’ve decided about my new name. If Maria Anna can be Elisa, I want to be called Caroline. That sounds much better. Much more French.“
Letizia [exasperated]
„What is it with everybody wanting to be French these days?“
A knock interupts them. The door opens, Lucien and Fréron enter the room. Everybody rushes up to hug Lucien, talking over each other in Italian.
Letizia:
„Luciano! What a surprise! We thought you were in Paris, doing politics with all those Frenchmen?“
Lucien: „That’s where I’m coming from, Mamma. But I’ve been sent here to Marseille in order to work with one of our most famous politicians, one of the pillars of our Republic. May I introduce you all to Citizen Louis Stanislas Fréron?“
Pauline [regarding Fréron from head to toe, smiling while licking her lips]
„Why, hello.“
Fréron [returning the look, grinning]
„Hel-lo!
Letizia [looks from Pauline to Fréron and back, starts smiling as well]
„Welcome, Citizen Fréron.“
Elisa and Caroline huddle around their mother, start whispering anxiously.
Elisa:
„Mamma, I believe this man has done really horrible things during the Revolution.“
Caroline:
„Yes, I think he’s a mass murderer or something!“

„So?“

Our boy Willis!
Fun fact, I've seen him show up in random other people's Discworld fic for the Guild Era and I'm certain it's because people think he's just some background character and not an OC and I think that's hilarious.
13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done
Hahahahahahah oh gods. What hasn't Willis done?
Probably the dumbest was falling in love with this Genoan pianist with a possessive husband.
Her name was Emilie and she was a concert pianist in Genoa. Willis met her when he was on a job in the city in his mid/late twenties. They fell madly, deeply, passionately in love.
Truly in love, too, on Willis' side. Since he's more in love with love rather than the woman in front of him. This was certainly something.
Anyway, she had a husband. Willis said, 'That's no matter, I'll call a friend and he'll do me a deal to Take Care Of your old man.'
And Emilie was like, 'Gods bless you, Willis, but I still love him and there is much about him to love. I'm going to make a choice and that choice is to leave you.'
Willis is very heart broken over the entire thing.
A few weeks later, a man shows up at the door of the place Willis is staying demanding satisfaction. Willis slept with his wife, Willis therefore must pay the price.
This is, of course, Jacques, Emilie's husband.
Jacques challenges Willis to a duel. Willis tries to talk him down, expalining that he is an assassin and this will only end badly etc. etc. but Jacques is set on it. He will see revenge taken against the man who dared seduce his wife.
Willis: To be fair, it was a mutual seduction. I didn't swan in and woo her away or anything.
Emilie: Not helping babe. Not helping at all.
Anyway, Willis ends up killing Jacques in the duel because Willis was trained to kill people from the age of ten and Jacques was just some sad opera singer who was a good swordsman, but not as good as a trained assassin. No one will beat a trained killer 1:1 except another trained killer. Which Jacques was not.
Willis did warn him!
Due to the fallout of all of this, Willis was banned from Genoa for ten years and he and Emilie no longer speak and she may have had his child, but he'll never know and the daughter will grow up thinking Jacques was her father because that makes life easier for everyone.
And man, that's not so much "dumb" as "tragic". But also, Willis, don't sleep with married women then challenge their husbands to a duel after offering to hire your friend Downey to inhume them!!

There was one time when Willis rode his mattress off the Guild roof like a roller coaster ride and somehow he lived and had precious few injuries.
Dumb but miraculous.
Still dumb though.
37. What they really think about themselves
Willis, like Downey, actually has a solidly positive view of himself. It's not nearly so egotistical as Downey's sense of self can be, but Willis knows his self worth and that he is worthy of love, respect, and dignity. As are all people.
The big thing is that Willis truly believes he has a stalwart personality that will stay the course on a life choice and that is not, at all, true. So if he decides he's going to turn poet, he truly believes he will always be a poet. Now that he's decided. But he won't be. He'll be a poet for six months then change course again.
However, he still somehow thinks he's a steady, always doing the same thing, sort of guy.
That said, he is loyal to his friends to death. Always has been and always will be and knows this about himself.
38. Favorite holiday
Hogswatch! It's all the warm and fuzzy feelings combined with Old Gods and Blood and Willis is here for it. Mostly he's here for the aesthetics of coziness and familial bonding, even if he hates his grandfather who he lives with.
Willis is one of those people who will construct the narrative of what his childhood with his grandfather should have been rather than say the truth of what it was. Therefore, he's big on Family Holidays and talking about all these things that didn't happen but he wished had happened.
So, he'll be making cocoa and telling Downey about caroling with his grandfather and putting up stockings and all that rot when there was never any caroling or stockings.
Willis loves love because he so very much wants someone to love him as much as he loves the idea of being loved.

When Yusuf agrees to impersonate his sister and thereby meet her betrothed, it is supposed to be a harmless, chaperoned introduction where he can try to convince the man to call off a years-old engagement. Instead, he finds himself married in her stead and sailing back to Genoa with a husband exactly as cold and standoffish as Nadia had feared.
Ever since he'd been told the terms of his father's will, Nicolo has been bracing himself for a marriage that was tolerable at best; he is not best pleased to find himself at risk of being forced to yield his title and inheritance to an abominable cousin. It doesn't help that his new husband is possibly the most gorgeous man alive - and the more Nicolo fights to fix this situation, the less he thinks he wants to.

Well close to 9 months of working with our friends and mentors who sold us their Wharram Tiki 30 (Snow Bird) got to the delivery passage yesterday. We need a northerly so we left yesterday. The wind was due to change from the south today. About 32 Nm. It was good passage but we had issues once we got into Botony Bay the wind was ferocious and we had trouble furling the genoa and lost helm control. We eventually got the sail in and used manual tiller control. Someone on look out and someone managing the motor. We threaded our way to the yacht club through the mooring field and arranged for another club member to meet us and help secure the boat. Oh and we got into the bay right on sunset. Speed during the passage averaged 7 knots and topped at 8.7. Under Genoa only. Challenging first passage but we fell accomplished. Our son was a huge help.
