Guuurrrl... as a damn dirty sticks user who doesn't feel cut out for ranked, sometimes I wonder if I truly earned that damn gold toothpick in Splatoon 2 or the Teddy Ears from Splatoon 3... I feel this post in my soul. Egg drew a bunch of cute inklings! Onee-san asks, "Where were you on Octo-Ber 20 Communication Error?" Whatre your thoughts on the dark world's origin. At first glance it seems like an imaginary game Kris plays, with all the toys and pieces in the supply closet, but at the same time Susie seems genuinely confused about what happened in the dark world after leaving it (plus sans probably being a darkner)

This... Is one of my hangups I am totally unsure of. The whole thing is so weird and it feels like the answer is right there, but I can’t see it.

My guesses are these:

The Dark World is another pocket universe (meta-pocket universe?) that happened to get tied up with the Overworld/Hometown

In kind of the same vein, the Dark World is a simulation of past events. This was my original guess, one of the biggest pieces of evidence being the inexplicable shift from 16-bit graphics to 1-bit graphics within Card Castle - It’s like there isn’t enough data stored, or some has been corrupted, and so the simulation is incomplete.

The Dark World is somehow related to Gaster’s machine and connection. This one is mostly because the background of The Fountain is the same as the background during the Goner Maker sequence in the beginning.

The supply closet became a temporary shortcut to a different timeline, fueled by the things actually on the floor of the supply closet.

Overall though, I think that this is definitely something we don’t have enough information about to solve yet. There’s obviously something significant about the toys and pieces, but I have no idea what.

TPoH Theory: How Hate can see RGB and Hero

So my friend @dorki-dorki-universe and I talked about how Hate can see the actions of RGB and Hero, and we came up with two interesting theories.

The first one we’ll call the TV Theory.

This theory essentially states that Hate can see the actions of RGB through his head - the TV. We know that Hate has the potential to do this, since Dial mentioned earlier that Hate can listen on his conversations.

So, by that logic, wouldn’t the same logic apply to Hate seeing through RGB’s TV?

It can also explain why Hate can’t see them in the Black Market, since it’s protected by the forest, ocean, and darkness, so Hate probably won’t be able to reach out to RGB. The same can be applied to when RGB turned Negative in the plains, and Hate couldn’t witness what happened then.

This would raise the question, however, if RGB has or had a connection with Hate at one point.

And now for theory two, the Comic Theory.

Unlike the TV Theory, the Comic Theory suggests that Hate views RGB and Hero through the same way us readers do - as a comic.

Our first piece of evidence comes from when Dial entered the place where Hate most likely resides.

In this page, you can faintly see the parts of the previous page, only reflected.

The same can be said for the next pages, where it shows more comic pages.

And, as you can see, some of the squares are blacked out, presumably because they show scenes from the Black Market, which Hate cannot see.

Not only that, but the Comic Theory also implies that Hate is somehow outside of the comic, but can still somewhat affect it, like in how Julienne and Melody were kidnapped…

… or what Hate did to Dial’s square…

However, the Comic Theory doesn’t explain why Hate would be able to see into the Black Market if we can, along with why Hate couldn’t see Negative as well.

When we consulted the Discord, a user named Gemrazzled made a connection as well.

TLDR: The TV Theory says Hate can spy on RGB and Hero through RGB’s head, while the Comic Theory says Hate is separate from the comic entirely, seeing things the same way we do.

What chapter of Gloomverse was your favorite to draw so far?

Oh so far? DEFINITELY the chapter where Assistant is running around her dream-world. I feel like its the most beautiful chapter- slow paced, and genuinely enjoyable- even if some of the nightmare aspects of it happen.A+, favorite chapter so far. But I already know some of my future chapters are gonna blow that one out of the water in terms of what I will enjoy writing and designing.

Have you tried editing the game files to give you exp/levels like you can in UT?

Yep. Interestingly enough, it is really hard to get it to stick in the first place - the first few times I tried it, it just overwrote it back to LV1. Eventually I got it to stay, but it didn’t seem to have an effect.

Something especially interesting to note is that in your save file, unlike in Undertale, “Level” and “Love” are two separate values.

My best guess is that the game will toy with the dual meaning of Love/LOVE within the Undertale world, but that’s a total shot in the dark.
