Hello, can I ask from this ask game :
https://www.tumblr.com/threecheersforinking/677824836625694720/anime-ask-game?source=share
For anime/manga : Monster and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Sure!
JJK
Favourite Character:
Kenjaku (big surprise)
Favourite Arc/Episode/Scene:
That's a tough pick...I pretty much like the entire Culling Game Arc (ch 159 - 220) and Perfect Preparation is definitely also a fave, but if I would narrow it down a bit more, I'd say it's the stretch from Kenjaku's negotiations with other countries in chapter 200 until the preparation to release Gojo in chapter 220. I just really like the focus we get on Kenjaku's character there, the extra world building and lore and I also appreciate how dynamic and spontaneous things were during that time. The plans of the protagonists where often completely overthrown and you never quite knew what to expect and what might happen next. (I really miss that energy) I'd also like to mention the Baka Survivor mini-arc, which was such a breath of fresh air and did so much to give Kenjaku's and Takaba's characters much needed depth. I never expected it to be so important when it started. Shows that Gege can make the most ridiculous scenario meaningful if they want to. I think for favourite scene, Kenjaku's one-sided talk with Tengen in chapter 222 before the static TV is still my absolute favourite. It's such striking imagery, showed a whole new layer to their character and relationship with Tengen (establishing that despite technically getting what they wanted they realize this has basically completely destroyed their friendship with Tengen and left them unsatisfied) and sets up what made the Baka Survivor arc so successful.
Character I Think is Underrated:
There's a bunch. Takaba, Angel, Tengen and I'd also count Kenjaku because despite being the main antagonist who drives the entire plot forward, many fans still completely overlook them and their influence and at best boil them down to a generic cold Mastermind a la Aizen 2.0 or just make jokes about them giving birth to Yuuji/fucking Jin. It has gotten a little better since the Baka Survivor arc, at least in the Japanese fandom there seems to be a bit more appreciation there.
Character I Think is Overrated:
Geto. His downfall was well-written in Hidden Inventory, but aside from that I don't think he's all that interesting or exceptional. Also Inumaki. He's basically non-existent and irrelevant in the manga, but for some reason always in the top 10 of most popular characters.
Favourite Ship/Pairing:
Tengen/Kenjaku - special mix of obsession, toxicity, codependency and vore
Something I Love About the Show/Movie:
The way jjk fleshes out side characters and gives them meaning with barely a chapter or less. I also like the way supernatural has been interconnected with the real world and history. That's what makes it so fascinating to me and makes me want to dig deeper. I'm not a big fan of high fantasy or "real world but everyone is magical" settings, so jjk struck a good balance there.
Monster
Favourite Character:
Johan Liebert. Generic answer, I know, but he's one of the few anime villains I actually found scary and threatening. I was always on edge while watching the show, wondering when he would show up and even if he was there, what he would do. Just seeing him standing next to a kid is so stressful, even if he doesn't end up doing anything (just means the child will kill themselves later). I also love his co-dependent, obsessive relationship with Nina and the entire mystery about their past.
Favourite Arc/Episode/Scene:
Prague arc. Like I said, the mystery around Johan and Nina's origins is a big appeal for me for the series and this is all that. It also shows just how versatile Johan is. They also captured the atmosphere of Prague as a city, particularly at night really well. Similar to that, episode 49 where the kids are trying to catch JohAnna and one boy gets send to the red light district is probably my favourite. I like it especially because the focus isn't so much on the adult characters, but you really experience Johan from the eyes of an innocent child who just wanted to play detective and accidentally ran into a real serial killer. The chase of of Tenma & Co. was nerve-wrecking to watch because they're always just a little to late. The scene where JohAnna talks to Milosh about how his existence has no meaning is the main reason why just Noto Mamiko in any other anime stresses me out.
Character I Think is Underrated:
None really. I think the fandom shows a lot of appreciation to every important or minor character.
Character I Think is Overrated:
Tenma. He's just...a little annoying. I got very tired of everyone treating him like a saint for the most basic human decency. Also him angsting over having to kill Johan and only he can do it etc. got old pretty quickly for me. I know what he's supposed to represent, but I just think he's not very interesting to watch.
Favourite Ship/Pairing:
Johan/Jan. I just have a thing for naive regular guys falling for murderers. Johan also had a chance to kill him or his mother, but instead he helped them, so...he treated Jan a lot better than most of his victims. Also in a platonic sense, everything about Johan and Nina drives me insane.
Something I Love About the Show/Movie:
The side stories we are taken on, which all are significant often in ways you didn't expect and they are what make the story feel so human and down-to-earth despite the wild stuff that happens. I also love the inclusion of the fairy tales. I still have trauma from the way Nina reads Obluda in the anime. Just hearing 昔々ある所に gives me chills every time. Bůh Míru/The God of Peace is my favourite of the stories. The open end, the implication of suicide is what makes it so frightening exactly because everything is left to your imagination, plus the knowledge that kids who heard the story went through with what is being implied.

ok jjk 221 lets get into it
mixed feelings on the unboxing. it was hilarious how unserious they all were and i didn't actually care that much because i love seeing all of them together <3 shoko <3 momo <3 kirara <3 maki <3 miwa <3 hakari <3 hana <3 lowkey i missed inumaki too. twas nice!! but the tone shift was really weird, i was hoping it would be more high stakes than that and it really feels like theyre going back to the 'let gojo handle it' mindset which. feels very much against the point considering the last thought we had from him before the culling game was 'i have faith in all of them.' its like nothing has changed since then.
it's also really weird that nothing has really been said about tengen. all of their actions have been pointing towards them being very untrustworthy and on their own side, and it just so happened that their goals at the time aligned with yuki and co's, but there's just been nothing. it feels very anticlimactic. they knew that gojo could have possibly died upon being unsealed and said nothing, they could've ended the culling game at the beginning and said nothing. like it goes back to yuki getting really mad at them back in ch 201 i think and then just going along with the plan and dying. it feels like there's no point, no fanfare, nobody cares about the really important parts. it feels like tengen's existence was unimportant and pushed aside despite their actions and existence being the reason (or helping the reason) why jujutsu society is so shitty?? idk if this makes a lot of sense but even their conversation with kenjaku in the last chapter... it just feels like tengen means nothing. that's annoying. but anyway
gojo's unboxing was so unserious but i hoped maybe he would go a little berserk when he was actually out. the ripped jacket was cool and i wish gege kept it, that wouldve fucked so hard but he's still suffering the disease of making his men buff when they shouldn't be :/ whatever i guess. up until sukuna showed up it really did seem as if he was going to go berserk which i was so here for!!! especially since the angel was kind of hyping it up. alas it was not to be 😔 which is annoying!!! at least we got a your mom joke? but anyway!! im glad at least gojo vs sukuna is happening first because its not as if kenny really wanted to fight him anyway unless some bullshit with their technique happens like last time with yuki. which would be stupid. but also im not sure how i feel about this upcoming battle though. it would tie back to the 'six eyes and ten shadows killed each other in the past' but one, it feels way too soon for that, and two, i think with the way gojo said 'you? a loser that had to run away from yuuji?' is hinting towards another conflict between sukuna and yuuji. i have many thoughts about this and i'll probably derail later so let's bookmark it here *
gojoken fight would be kind of stupid because if theyre leaving it all to gojo (😐) he would probably just one-shot them. realistically. yuuta coming to fulfill his promise to kill gojo's best friend for him would feel better personally because then his words would actually hold weight lmao and maybe he'll die too!! if gege is continuing his pattern of getting rid of the special-grades (unless he's only getting rid of the adult special-grades which is 😐but whatever!!!) yuuta doesn't really serve a purpose in the story rn anyway besides being gojo's temporary replacement so it wouldn't be a pointless loss either. especially if such a fight would show gojo that his students dont need to depend on him and they have grown in his absence. like he had faith in them to when he first got boxed!! though in that case maybe yuuta's death wouldn't be the best way to express that. unless kids like hakari and maki picked up the slack. idk. my thoughts are a mess rn bear with me here 🙏
* ok so in the last panel too gojo says that he'll win and sure, he could, because sukuna's not even at full strength yet. it makes me wonder where the other five fingers are since if they kill each other wouldn't it be a little pointless if sukuna was missing some fingers? you'd have to get rid of the rest of him through yuuji and that would be stupid. bookmarking this for later also * but anyway!! the game is changed now since sukuna has the ten shadows technique and knows how to use it better than megumi can so theres likely a real chance gojo would get hurt. maybe he'll even lose an eye this time and live to tell the tale considering hana and inumaki got to live (but then again are they really characters in the story anymore? 💀) if he did get hurt that would make it easier for a students vs kenjaku fight to take place as well
and about yuuji. sukuna's not 'running' from yuuji because he's scared but i'm sure that he's wary at least. there was that comment: 'right, this brat is from back then...' which was ambiguous in its meaning (im pretty sure he was saying 'this brat has been strong since back then [pre-sukuna]' or something like that but the possibility of some heian stuff going on is equally interesting!! and weird!!) but yeah. and its not as if being trapped in yuuji was a very convenient place to be anyway. gojo was probably just taunting him saying he was running from yuuji but he is wary of him at least!! especially since he's so sturdy or whatever. so i hope that between gojo vs sukuna someone gets hurt or dies because i think another fight between yuuji and sukuna would be a nice wrapping up. yuuji's active involvement with jujutsu started with sukuna and it would be cool to end it with him, too
not only that but there's also the whole 'if you die i'll kill you' 'so start by saving me, itadori' 'i have a few suggestions about how we can save fushiguro' thing thats going on between yuuji and megumi. we all know it so i guess i won't say it but that's more fuel for the sukuna vs yuuji fight right
* i think gojo is going to lose. if not against sukuna then he's going to lose against something. i'm torn between not feeling great about 'leave it all to gojo' and the adults' feelings that kids shouldn't have to take on adult problems but i think he's going to lose against someone and then the kids will fight so we can have both perspectives? the confidence with which he says 'i will win', the history between six eyes and ten shadows, the one-eye imagery in official arts combined with the weird timing and tone of his unboxing feel like they're spelling defeat but i'm just wondering how it's all going to tie in. like what order are these events going to happen? who's going to do what? how's this going to play out? which isn't even theorizing that's just waiting for the next chapter to come out kldehwjakfdjzhs since gege has dashed all my hopes and expectations. don't even know whos going to die anymore. but whatever!!
this ended up being very long 💀 if i've said anything that was immediately obvious sorry lmao

perhaps I’m misremembering but wasn’t Hakari one of the students that Gojo said he could see surpassing him, like it was him and Yuta who were two of the strongest students at that moment and were on track to potentially be at Gojo’s level if not stronger?
If I’m not misremembering then the fact that we’re getting to see Hakari using Idle Death Gamble and once again fighting an opponent, this time using what seems like little effort on his part (or at least less than when he was against Yuji), is awesome because it reinforces his capacity as a powerful sorcerer but also highlights the way he and Yuta are the formidable support Yuta, Yuji, and crew are going to need when facing Kenjaku. Also, if Yuta decides to go against Kenjaku alone as he plans to, Hakari can potentially be there to either help, or step up should something happen to him.
(It also reminds me of something I’ve always wondered about his expulsion, that another reason why the higher ups kicked him out wasn’t only because of him beating the hell out of one of them according to Gege. I’ve wondered if, like even before that incident, the elders were already planning to get rid of him in some way because they were threatened by what it would mean to continue to have him and Yuta in the same vicinity as Gojo. They were worried about Gojo’s influence deepening but also dude’s super powerful and one of the strongest and we can’t have these sorcerer kids getting too powerful because they’ll be a threat y’know? So Yuta’s always sent on far away missions under the guise that it’s because he’s special grade, and they kicked out Hakari because might as well thin the strength herd until, oh fuck, there’s this Itadori vessel kid to worry about. But I digress.)
Idk I’m rambling, but basically getting to see Hakari in action like this is awesome, I hope he ends up teaming up with the other students again, and I hope we eventually get to see him and Yuta teaming up to defeat someone because could you imagine the damage they’d cause their opponent

Fuck it. If Gege pulls a deus ex machina to kill Sukuna and keeps on with the bs about how ‘he wasn’t even giving it his all’ in the fight with Gojo, we can validly say JJK has gone down the toilet. It won’t be reaching, it won’t be delusional or biased, it will be legit criticism.
Am i nuts for thinking that at this point JJK needs to end tragically for it to be a satisfactory ending? Because good stories set expectations for how they will go. Sure, there can be some good twists, but there’s still a basic understanding of what kind of story it’ll be. Like Naruto and Avatar: The Last Airbender were set up so that the audience could tell that they would end with the protagonist saving the world and having a mostly happy ending, and that didn’t take away the quality of the writing.
But JJK isn’t set up for a happy ending anymore. People who valued kindness and/or had no ill intent are dead - Nanami, Haibara, Yaga, Riko, etc. Or there was Geto, whose kindness turned into something ugly and hateful. The most powerful character who was the cornerstone of the Good Guys’ movement was killed. And even worse is that Gojo makes his grand declaration to Ijichi that he’s going to change society and make things better, but in the end he didn’t accomplish that. He ended up killing the higher-ups anyway, told Gakuganji to continue the very same system just with different people, and he doesn’t beat the strongest force of evil that he was foreshadowed to defeat. That’s not a good twist, it’s disappointing.
If there’s a ~bittersweet~ conclusion it is going to come across as poor writing. The Good Guys have been steadily losing and losing and losing, jujutsu society hasn’t been changed, and a lot of interesting/good characters are dead.
At this point let Sukuna win. Uraume can cook all the surviving humans for him and then Sukuna can save his beloved chef for last to cannibalize.
Sorry this ask was long oops you don’t have to read all that
tl,dr - Gege is on the precipice of ending JJK quite poorly and Sukuna should win
YES!!! Literally yes to ALL of this!!! This sums everything up so perfectly. You said everything that needed to be said and took the words right out of my mouth. More unhinged ranting below the cut:
You are SPOT ON with the Naruto and ATLA comparison. I am not kidding when I say I am now Team Sukuna. Why wouldn't I be? With the way the narrative is right now, I would feel so cheated if he didn't win. Does Gege really expect us to believe that the remaining Good Guys can beat Sukuna when the singular character who has been set up to defeat Sukuna since chapter 2 couldn't do it? Does he really expect us to be satisfied with Yuji (ily bby but wtf can you actually do rn?) killing Sukuna when Gojo Satoru, the strongest, could not?
I saw a post the other week that compared JJK to Naruto. The whole point of the post was that with other shonen manga (Naruto, OP, DBZ, etc.), we KNOW the protagonist is always going to win, even if it feels like a cop out. So when Kid Naruto beats tf out of a very powerful Orochimaru, we're all like "yeah okay, makes sense." But JJK has done the opposite. JJK has told us that just because someone is the protagonist does not mean they're going to automatically win. I mean, we've seen Yuji get the shit beat out of him so many times because of this. So JJK set up this pretty legit power dynamic and told us that the only person who can defeat the big baddie is Gojo Satoru and we have been given no reason to think otherwise. So when Gojo dies and Yuji somehow defeats Sukuna with an ass-pull, we're all going to be pissed because we were promised otherwise. If we saw Yuji beating special-grades left and right from the first few chapters, then it would probably be fine. But that is not what Gege wrote!! He wrote the opposite of this ffs.
And your whole point about all the people who valued kindness being gone is another thing that makes me even more frustrated. If we're going for a straight up tragedy, FAIR ENOUGH. But if Gege wants to turn this into a bittersweet ending or if he wants Yuji to beat Sukuna, it'll feel cheap.
Let Sukuna and Uraume kill everyone and everything. Any other ending will be bullshit.

Let fate toy with you...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t know for certain whether Megumi is going to die or if he’s going to survive. Only Gege knows that... but I really trust my gut feeling that Gege is telling a very special story in Megumi.
A story about a kid who had to overcome his fate and the self-esteem issues that come with the heart-breaking experiences that life dealt him. In order to do just that, said kid had to re-imagine himself time and time again into a better version of himself.
Megumi is, after all, someone gifted with blessings beyond his wildest imagination. He is heir to a symbol worthy of royalty--the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique.
But he is also someone who, having been granted with power beyond his self-imposed limitations, is burdened by a limited idea of who he is and who he can become as a result of his childhood trauma.
In a nutshell, from my perspective, Megumi is a portrait of what is possible when fate seems to be toying with you and making a fool of you. Especially when the easiest path to take is to become a victim to fate.
Word vomit and mental gymnastics below the cut...
First... I don’t know how this ramble got so long...
Second... I think it makes sense?
Third...
Tumblr media
So that you know what you’re getting into if you decide to read further, this ramble (just like my ramble on Sukuna) is an exploration of myth, religious philosophy, symbolism and character in an attempt to try to peel back the layers behind Megumi’s character and his possible arc.
Given Reggie’s last words for Megumi, for this exploration, my brain decided to fixate on the concepts of free will, destiny, fate, and the G-dude... God.
That is because, from my perspective, Megumi surviving comes back to his free will. More specifically, Megumi’s ability to step into a better version of himself time and time again as integral to his character.
Tumblr media
Expect there will be talk of Buddhism, Shintoism, and Judeo-Christianism. And while I have studied these philosophies to an extent, I must confess that I know enough about either of these religions to know that I don’t know shit about either of these religions.
So keep that in mind and exercise that sexy brain of yours by confirming what you read here on your own.
That said... let’s get on with the gymnastics... 💪🏼
Tumblr media
Fate vs. Destiny
Fate and destiny are interesting concepts that I personally love.
Tumblr media
It is a stupidly complicated subject that extends beyond the idea that some higher power is pulling the strings in such a way that “it” influences the order of the world according to its will.
After all, what is the idea of a pre-ordained fate if not the belief that someone, or something can influence the outcome of an event or series of events?
For those of us in the West, the Judeo-Christian Bible presents us with a dire and gloomy outlook as predicted in it’s chapters about the Apocalypse (Carl Jung’s Aion apparently agrees?). In other words, the Bible speaks of a white bearded dude sitting on a throne up in the sky pulling the strings to bring about the apocalypse.
From this perspective, fate is a collective experience. We’re all fucked basically.
JJK, however, is a story influenced by Eastern philosophy--more specifically Buddhism, which is an atheistic “religion” that does not necessarily acknowledge NOR deny the existence of a higher power that can influence events the way the Judeo-Christian God does.
Rather, while Buddhism does acknowledge the existence of niyati, or “predetermined, inevitable, and unalterable events,” the idea of fate in Buddhism has more to do with the concepts of karma and dharma.
So in a sense, fate is both personal (something that happens to you and for you) and collective (your actions and inactions affect others in the grander scheme of things).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I am not sure whether the terms are used interchangeably in Japan, an important distinction to keep in mind because the basis for my mental gymnastics depends on this distinction is that fate and destiny are not the same.
In fact, Gege does use different kanji for both terms.
For fate he uses the kanji for “causal” 因 and “fruit” 果 which I take can be literally translated to “causality” or “the fruits of causality” aka “fate”.
As for destiny, he uses the kanji for “luck” 運 and “life” 命 which is a combination commonly used for the concept of “destiny” (unmei).
Tumblr media
I feel like the panel above showing the image of broken chains is very relevant. I believe the chains are meant to symbolize how Toji’s existence as someone with Heavenly Restriction interrupted a chain of events that had been set in motion in the past. For context, consider that metal chains are not easily broken.
Gege uses the term for fate to allude to events that are outside of one’s control because of causality (cause and effect). In other words, you can think of a domino effect where a single domino can set off a chain reaction that will result in a very specific outcome.
In the Jujutsu Kaisen world, these events are rooted so deeply in the past that to interrupt this “chain of events” would greatly change the order of the world as we know it.
Tumblr media
That said, you can think of Toji as that one domino that did not topple over the dominoes behind it. This in turn, created a new destiny (if you want to call it that) that was outside of “pre-ordained fate” (the chain of events) for all involved--more specifically Tengen, the Six Eyes, and the Plasma Vessel.
Now, there are schools of thought that define fate as the pre-ordained nature of the Universe. You can think of it as the events that happen to you that you have no control over. Like, if you are a domino piece at the end of a long line of dominoes that have been toppling over, your fate is to be toppled over as well.
In other words, you can think of fate as what happens to you when you don’t take an active role in shaping your life and you don’t exercise your free will to the best of your abilities--life happens to you.
With destiny, on the other hand, comes the idea of exercising our free will in such a way that we engage with our dharma (duty) and how through our actions (karma) we can hope to influence how life shows up for us--life happens for you.
The kicker is, of course, non-attachment--a concept that is easier said than put into practice.
In other words, you have to engage with your dharma/duty for the sake of engaging with it, not the sake of any outcome that may come from it...
Tumblr media
In other words, destiny is what happens for us when we consciously choose (free will) to follow our duty and life purpose in a way that is aligned with who we are at a soulful level (dharma).
More importantly, as we follow our dharma, our actions, whether positive or negative, can have lasting consequences that can come back around to bless us or haunt us (karma) depending on the nature of the action.
Tumblr media
It all happens in this beautiful dance of cause and effect that is mostly beyond our conscious control for the most part. You simply cannot decide the consequences of your actions in the grander scheme of things.
It’s actually way more complicated than this but I am doing my best to summarize. I feel like I am failing miserably though...
The cog as a symbol of fate
Did you think I was going to write a post that did not mention CLAMP? Not happening bahaha...
The cog as a symbol in JJK plays a significant role that can have different interpretations. The interpretation I am going with for this essay is that of the cog as a symbol of fate.
CLAMP’s x/1999 uses the cog symbolism in a very similar way as JJK. The difference is that CLAMP chooses to be far more obvious in using the symbolism of the cog as an analogy for a chain of events that will inevitably lead to a specific outcome.
Tumblr media
In fact, CLAMP uses the cog as a symbol to illustrate a collective future in much the same way the Judeo-Christian God pulls strings behinds the scenes to bring about the apocalypse for all of humanity.
On the other hand, Gege uses the cog on a more personal level.
Tumblr media
Megumi tells us that he sees himself as a cog that can bring about retribution (karma), and specifically explains he wishes for “good” people to receive fairness.
And while he does not mention that his role includes punishishing “bad” people, we as an audience know that it is in his nature to take it upon himself to punish bad people in order to protect good people.
Tumblr media
To Megumi, fairness is important, and if he can become part of the mechanism that brings about fairness to the few good people that deserve it, then he will do it--this is especially true for Megumi who believes himself to live in an unfair world that all but abandoned him.
To bring it back to the cog, for context, consider that a cursed spirit’s pre-ordained fate is to be born of human emotion, only to be slain by humans. Megumi’s place in a cursed spirit’s pre-ordained fate is that of an executor (”punishing bad people”). After all, only a curse can exorcise another curse.
Truly, the Jujutsu world is a well-oiled “machine” where everyone has a proper place: Humans create curses, curses take a life of their own, and the people with conscious control of cursed energy exorcise them.
Everything works seamlessly until someone starts questioning their place in the Jujutsu-scheme-of-things or their fate as Jujutsu sorcerers...
Megumi, however, does not appear to have not reached that point...yet.
Rather, he sees himself as so indispensable in this machinery to the point that he believes his role to be of one who can judge but cannot be judged.
Tumblr media
The problem with Megumi’s mentality as a cog is that he sees himself as someone who cannot be judged.
My best guess is that because Buddhism is an atheistic religion that has influenced his outlook of life and the world, and because of his childhood trauma, Megumi does not acknowledge a higher power that could judge him.
“Karma doesn’t happen on its own” could be Megumi’s way of saying that he does not believe there is a Higher Intelligence pulling the strings and influencing outcomes.
Despite Megumi thinking Jujutsu Sorcerers cannot be judged, however, I have the feeling he’s both over-estimating his role as a cog and being extremely shortsighted.
As a cog, he is, after all, part of an engine. It is the collective collaboration of an engine’s cogs that create “movement”.
Perhaps, unlike others (Geto? Yuki?) Megumi has not questioned what the purpose of this engine is.
Tumblr media
Remember... the cog can be thought of as an analogy for a chain of events that will inevitably lead to a specific outcome--that outcome, again, is outside of our conscious control.
This is relevant because the human mind is simply too small in comparison to the “higher intelligence” that is the order of the Universe. As long as we do our part, then the engine keeps on running without us fully understanding the ramifications of our existence in the grander scheme of life.
Tumblr media
And so what Megumi is not taking into consideration is that a chain of events that was started with a single action of his could blow out of proportion and result in something terrible.
Like... say, Sukuna’s rampage during Shibuya.
If you think about it, Megumi indirectly caused part of Sukuna’s rampage because Sukuna was battling Mahoraga in order to keep Megumi alive.
In fact, Sukuna’s rampage was fate in action: the inevitable outcome of Megumi choosing to save Yuji + the chain of events that led to Megumi summoning Mahoraga + Yuji being fed Sukuna’s fingers thus causing him to loose conscious control of his body to Sukuna.
因果--Causality.
What I would personally love to see Gege do other than more and more and more Feral Megumi plz I can’t get enough, is to create a crazy chain of events that will drive Megumi’s growth.
For example, while I think that Tsumiki dying is very plausible, her death also feels like the obvious outcome, and as we know, Gege has a tendency to subvert both tropes and expectations. So, even if she does die, what if a single action from Megumi was the indirect cause for Tsumiki’s death?
Similarly, Megumi has done everything he can to keep Yuji alive because he believes in his goodness. What would happen if Megumi finds himself in a position as Yuji’s executor?
Whichever of these scenarios is true, it could result in a drastic reorganization of what Megumi believes to be true about the world.
Ego death.
That said, Reggie’s curse is a very plausible reality since Megumi is already a victim to his own fate:
He was abandoned by his parents (or so he thinks), he joined the Jujutsu Sorcerer world only because he inherited a cursed technique and needed to survive, and he lost the one person in his life who had been a consistent source of positive support to an unknown curse.
Reggie cursing Megumi to die a fool could be taken literally to mean that a chain of events will result in Megumi dying a fool, or it could be taken metaphorically as a symbol for transitions and transformation.
But, as I’ve already established, there is a difference between fate and destiny. It is possible that if Megumi’s death is metaphorical, then the ensuing psychological growth could push him to own his destiny.
So... if he already is a victim to his fate, then what is Megumi’s destiny?
Destiny—the future has not been decided
Again, I’m not sure if any of this ridiculous ramble is where Gege plans to go but I love that he made a distinction between fate (因果) and destiny (運命) and my brain couldn’t help but expand on that detail to make ludicrous theories about Megumi’s character arc.
Literal picture of me doing mental gymnastics like: ...and this is why I think Megumi is surviving.
Tumblr media
Part of said mental gymnastics is this idea that, while the cog can be considered a symbol of fate, the cog can also exercise its divinely granted free will and choose to overcome its fate.
In x/1999, CLAMP takes the symbolism of the cog one step further from it being an analogy to fate.
While I can’t confirm the kanji used makes a distinction between fate and destiny (although CLAMP typically uses “hitsuzen” 必然 when they write about inevitable outcomes as directed by fate), CLAMP makes it a point to mention that free will can affect the outcome of so-called pre-ordained events.
Tumblr media
Unless the author is writing about a character’s free will being an illusion, free will is basically what introduces an element of unpredictability to pre-ordained events.
When it comes to Megumi, while he already is a victim of his fate, his destiny is an entirely different thing. I even dare say that despite his terrible fate, Megumi is blessed (more on that later) and destined for greatness.
So what’s the problem? As we have seen before, and while he’s certainly come a long way, the only thing keeping Megumi from his destiny is his mentality.
Tumblr media
From my perspective, at the very least, in order to access his destiny, Megumi needs to think freely of a future version of himself beyond his limits.
イメージしろ。限界を超えた未来の自分を。
Tumblr media
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate” -- Carl Jung.
One of the things I love most about Megumi is that Gege created a character with a history of trauma from neglect.
BUT, rather than presenting a soapy backstory, Gege went the extra mile and highlighted how Megumi’s soapy backstory influences his current outlook on life.
In other words, Megumi’s tragic backstory influences the way he sees himself in relation to others: Little to no self-esteem and an undervaluing of his worth and abilities. Like why you gotta be so relatable Megumi?
But Megumi does not know what he does not know about himself...
This is actually one of the most insidious aspects of trauma--the fact that it influences how we see the world without our conscious knowledge of it. As a result, overcoming the self-imposed limitations that are the result of early-childhood trauma is the psychological work of a lifetime.
In Megumi’s case, he had the privilege of having two “mentors” who helped him realize that the current, rather limited interpretation he had of himself, was affecting his performance and kept him playing small.
Tumblr media
Both Gojo and Sukuna helped Megumi question: “is this indeed the best I can do?”. Answering that question for himself ultimately led him onto a path more akin to destiny.
Remember, Megumi does not have an example for a positive parental male role model in his life. We also don’t know what it was like to grow up under Gojo’s supervision.
So I headcanon that to get positive feedback from two male figures whom Megumi admires must have meant a lot for him.
For someone like Gojo, the strongest, to insinuate to Megumi that the 10 Shadows cursed technique can rival Six Eyes is not a statement to take lightly.
As for daddy Sukuna, we have a 1,000 year-old cursed spirit, the King of Curses himself, acknowledging Megumi’s potential.
One small change to Megumi’s mentality and, not only did the boy go feral, he leveled up like a boss.
Tumblr media
You know I love this picture so much. There’s just something about Megumi’s facial expressions when he is allowing himself to feel “greedy”.
This is what I mean when I say that Megumi is someone who can overcome his fate and step into his destiny.
Megumi is, after all, the textbook definition of the Jungian shadow in the mainstream and non-mainstream sense of the word--bringing the unconscious to the light of consciousness.
In short, when Megumi becomes conscious of what is limiting him, he takes action accordingly.
“Allowing himself to get greedier/selfish” was basically Megumi tapping into personality traits the he had most likely previously rejected in himself.
Tumblr media
And if you think about it, Gege hints at “selfishness” or “ego” as drawing the line between a mediocre sorcerer and a truly talented one.
Tumblr media
In the Culling Game arc, I think it is interesting to see Megumi take this selfishness to an extreme by asking others to risk their lives to save Tsumiki. Something he would not have done in the past
Tumblr media
“It’s ok to be selfish.”
To come to this realization that it’s ok to be selfish, it requires for Megumi to accept traits about himself that he had previously rejected.
And this is perhaps another one of the many things I love most about Megumi’s character--the idea that I feel like Gege is writing about the Jungian shadow through Megumi.
“How can I be substantial if I fail to cast a shadow? I must have a dark side also if I am to be whole; and inasmuch as I become conscious of my shadow I also remember that I am a human being like any other.” Carl G. Jung
In a nutshell, Megumi’s confrontation with his own psychic shadow is what drives his character arc forward.
As a result, whatever is in store for him, I reckon that Megumi will become the most human character in the JJK cast.
He’s already started by accepting “negative” personality traits like selfishness. But as I’ve mentioned time and time again I seriously sound like a broken record, Megumi also rejects his vulnerability and projects those “positive” traits like goodness onto people like Tsumiki and Yuji.
I headcanon that once Megumi accepts his own vulnerability, he could become someone who is willing to step into his role as the head of the Zenin clan, not out of convenience to further his goals like he did in chapter 158, but because he is embracing his destiny.
So what could Megumi’s destiny be?
While I don’t know the answer to that, what I do know is that he inherited the family jewel, the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique, and as a result, he also inherited a duty to the world according to this power.
In the words of Uncle Ben, with great power comes great responsibility.
恵 (blessing) and the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique
You know.
I’ve been wondering: If you can curse someone before you die, then why couldn’t you also bless them?
The thing is that kanji is important in JJK. Like... very important. As a language nerd, I absolutely adore how Gege uses the pictorial elements of the Japanese language as part of him telling his story.
From “you fascinate/enchant me Fushiguro Megumi,” to the many character names in JJK.
In Megumi’s case, we have a kanji character jam-packed with what I headcanon is his mother and father’s deep love for him. I’ve written about it here if you wish to learn more about the kanji characters that make up his full name.
Now, I headcanon this is important because "the power of names” trope is used by a couple of manga I am familiar with. One example is CLAMP’s xxxHOLiC, and another example is Natsume’s Book of Friends.
In "the power of names” trope, names have power in and of themselves. Names also give you power over the name bearer because names are who you are.
If Gege is using the same or a similar trope here, then I have to assume that Megumi’s name could even be a protective charm that his mother and father placed on him, whether they did it with full intention, or did it unintentionally.
I also like to think of Megumi’s name as a sort of message in a bottle about just how beloved he was. This only makes his backstory all the more tragic, and it makes it even more heartbreaking that Megumi quite understandably resents Toji.
So, consider for a moment the idea that Toji’s last thoughts before he died were focused on wishing the best for Megumi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Add to that the idea that the kanji used to write his name is already a pictorial representation for “blessings” that could have been meant to be a protective charm for one who was so beloved.
Granted, I don’t know that this perspective is canon. I’m just speculating here and playing and expanding upon symbolism.
But if you put those two ideas together, what you get is Megumi--someone gifted with blessings beyond his wildest imagination.
More specifically, the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique--the prized family jewel.
And this brings me to the symbolism of the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique.
The Ten Treasures of Shintoism
We already know that 10 Shadows appears to have been inspired by the 10 Sacred Treasures of Shinto (十種神宝, Tokusan no Kandakara) because Megumi’s Shikigami all have similar/the same symbols inscribed on them as the 10 treasures.
Before I go into the mythological background of the Ten Treasures, I want to first briefly explore the “religious” implications of Shinto.
Now, more than a religion, Shinto (the way of the Gods) is considered a way of life that acknowledges the Higher Intelligences (Gods) that permeate everything. That said, it imbues the practitioner’s life with a sense of reverence towards these divine entities that are part of daily life. Put differently, Shintoism acknowledges the divine, spiritual nature of the physical world.
I bring this up because I think it is interesting that Megumi appears to not acknowledge a higher power (again, quite possibly due to his fate and the influence of Buddhist philosophy in Japanese society) and yet, his Cursed Technique could be said to be a gift from the gods itself.
Regarding the Ten Treasures of Shintoism, there is not a whole lot that can be found about them online, especially if you can’t read Japanese. But for the purpose of mental gymnastics, I think all we need to know is that, in Japanese mythology, the Ten Treasures were said to have been passed down from none other than Amaterasu (celestial ancestor), the chief Solar deity in Shinto.
Tumblr media
The reason I keep calling the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique a “prized family jewel” is because Amaterasu is considered to be an ancestor to the Japanese royal family. So, from my perspective, anything handed down from her can be considered to be a gift bestowed upon one worthy of royalty or a similar exalted role.
Come to think of it, the symbolism of Amaterasu as a Solar deity is similar to other solar deities around the world in which the Sun is revered as the source of life on Earth. Consider how Earth is at just the perfect distance from the Sun in order to make life possible on the planet.
Now, consider that Gege uses both the “Jungian shadow” and the Ten Treasures, which were a gift from a solar deity, as metaphors for Megumi’s Cursed Technique. What you get is a symbol for how the light of consciousness (the Sun) can bring out treasures from the unconscious (the shadow).
I’m getting super Jungian here but...
In simpler terms, considering the mythology behind it, I get the feeling that it is because of the 10 Shadows Cursed Technique that the Zenin clan is considered one of the three major clans in the Jujutsu-scheme of things.
After all, a gift passed down from Amaterasu, the celestial maiden herself, should not be taken lightly.
Not to mention that according to this post, “although the specific functionality of each independent item is unknown, ancient Japanese legends... suggests that when used in unity, [the Ten Treasures] could heal any illness and even raise the dead back to life.”
Of course we don’t know what Gege has in mind for the origin and backstory of 10 Shadows, but these are just interesting ideas to keep in mind until he reveals something more concrete.
I also don’t know that Gege will use the symbolism in the specific way that I am mentioning it here, but he’s already introduced some of it into the story...
Want to get a bit crazy with the crack theories?
I’ve written before about how the kanji for the phonetic syllable “tsu” 津 in Tsumiki’s name is the same kanji used in words like tsunami, tsunami earthquake,  天津御祖 (amatsumioya) imperial ancestor and 天津乙女 (amatsuotome) celestial maiden, just to name a few.
Right... imperial ancestor and celestial maiden... wasn’t I just talking about a celestial maiden?
Linking Tsumiki to an “imperial ancestor” or a “celestial maiden” based on one single kanji character is definitively a bit of a stretch of the imagination. AND that’s exactly why I’m calling this essay mental gymnastics. Either way, I am exploring symbolism and not necessarily “concrete evidence” per se.
The truth of the matter is that we still don’t know Tsumiki’s deal. We’ve only ever seen her through Megumi’s eyes and his memories. If it weren’t because other people in general have mentioned Tsumiki (Origin of Obedience Arc), I’d be inclined to think Tsumiki isn’t real but a figment of Megumi’s imagination.
Another question in my mind has been: Why was she, out of the 13 million people living in Tokyo, cursed of all people?
Tumblr media
Why Megumi’s sister of all people?
Is it a coincidence she was cursed?
Above all, is she the vessel for a sorcerer from the past? Consider that the kanji for “ki” 紀 in Tsumiki’s name is typically used to define a specific period of time in history.
If that’s the case, what is Tsumiki’s role in the Culling Game?
We haven’t seen her since she woke up from her coma and all we know is that she looks unlike the Tsumiki Megumi remembers.
Now, the thing to keep in mind about kanji is that you can use different kanji to make different phonetic sounds. However, in the written page, the kanji used changes the context of what is being communicated.
So I kind of have to wonder why Gege used 津 and 紀 in Tsumiki’s name and not other kanji that make the equivalent phonetic sounds. I head canon Gege was very deliberate in the meaning of the kanji and just created a name that worked with the kanji’s phonetic sounds.
Whatever the case... Tsumiki’s role in JJK only gets more mysterious when you take all of this contextual information and speculation into consideration.
AND MAYBE IT DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL!
Who knows.
Perhaps the kanji is a mere coincidence. But what I am trying to say here is that, based on the symbolism, Gege could be setting up a huge reveal about Tsumiki later on.
I also don’t think she’s Kurusu Hana’s vessel because up until now Gege has shown that any sorcerer reincarnated from the past looks like their vessel--their looks don’t change.
Which brings us to...
Kurusu Hana, the Celestial Maiden
So whether Tsumiki is the vessel for a certain celestial maiden or not...
All we do know is that Gege did already introduce a “celestial maiden” into the story...
Tumblr media
Kurusu Hana (来栖華 -- literal: to come/future + nest/hive + (ostentatious) flower).
Since we are on the topic of fate and destiny, all I can say with certainty is that I am looking forward to reading about why Hana is targeting Megumi, and that I have the feeling that her intentions are not that innocent.
Let’s look at the symbolism of her character briefly.
With Hana’s introduction into the story, Gege has introduced symbolism for that one monotheistic religion that acknowledges a Higher Intelligence that can manipulate events according to its will. Make a mental note of this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But not only does she resemble a Judeo-Christian Guardian Angel in chapter 173, in chapter 145 when she’s first introduced, she is shown holding what looks like a trumpet.
Tumblr media
First, we already know Gege plays with flower symbolism with his main trio, so consider that the Angel’s Trumpet flower (ostentatious flower?) is a highly poisonous plant that is most fragrant at night (or in the shadows if you want to get crack theory friendly).
Next, if you aren’t familiar with apocalyptic lore according to the Bible, the apocalypse is announced by angels by blowing a trumpet.
And what are these angels announcing with their trumpets? The resurrection of none other than the white-bearded dude up in the sky, God himself ... or something like that. Don’t roast me, I’ve never really read the Bible. I just know specific details about it.
Thus bringing us full circle in this madness of an essay to the idea of the cog as a symbol of fate and destiny.
Megumi, the chosen/blessed one
In this meta, linkspooky talks about how Megumi and Gojo embody “the chosen one” trope.
In a nutshell, “the chosen one” is a trope in which a character is burdened with responsibilities they did not ask to be given. They are thus forced to take “the call to adventure” and grow psychologically as a result of the challenges they encounter along their journey.
In Megumi’s case, in addition to being forced to join the Jujutsu world because of his family lineage, Megumi becomes the next head of the Zenin because he inherited 10 Shadows, a role he is reluctant to claim (unless it serves his purposes as we saw in chapter 158).
Tumblr media
There’s just something about all of the symbolism that 10 Shadows carries, his name, and Hana’s interest in him that points at Megumi being so powerful he cannot begin to imagine the extent of his abilities thanks to 10 Shadows.
I even have to wonder if we will see another mentor-like figure that can teach Megumi how to make the most of 10 Shadows. And if no such mentor exists, the question is, what will help Megumi step into the role he was destined for?
As I mentioned before, my best guess is that Gege has a major event planned that will cause Megumi to have a major reorganization of what he believes to be true about the world--Ego death.
After all, we already know that it is his mentality and his limited perception of himself, which is in turn the result of trauma, that keeps Megumi from owning his destiny.
Fate, Destiny, Free Will, and God
To bring it all together... I think?
Tumblr media
Given everything I’ve shared up until now, I’ll start by reminding you that Megumi believes that Jujutsu sorcerers cannot be “judged”. I also speculated that perhaps Megumi does not believe in a higher power that can judge him because of the cultural influences of Buddhism and his own upbringing.
Next, consider that Kurusu Hana introduced the idea of “a God that judges” into the picture. More importantly, her symbolism could be one of “poison” and/or “judgement day.”
Now, let’s bring back the symbol of the cog as a representation of “fate, causality, and inevitability”.
Consider the idea that Toji broke destiny once already when he killed the Plasma Vessel. But the consequences of his actions extend beyond this event in that when Toji told Gojo about Megumi’s existence, he set in motion a chain of events that resulted in Yuji not being executed even though he is Sukuna’s vessel.
Tumblr media
Actually, scrolling through the manga to look for a specific panel I ran into the panel above featuring a conversation between Sukuna and Yuji that shows us the symbolism of chains once again. So you kind of have to wonder, again, about how else Sukuna fits into all of this fated (chain of events) madness.
All we know is that Sukuna is waiting for just the right moment to switch places with Yuji over conscious control of the body they share.
Tumblr media
So whatever Sukuna has in mind for Megumi is part of the fate that was created when Toji challenged the order of things by killing the Plasma Vessel and telling Gojo about Megumi’s existence.
After all, even Sukuna called it a “new plan.”
Whatever the case, the thing is that, as the chosen/blessed one, just like x/1999′s Kamui, Megumi’s future has not been decided for a number of reasons:
1. Megumi exercising his free will could change how events unfold, and
2. The blessing bestowed upon him by his name could greatly affect his luck
Think of it this way: which could be more powerful, Reggie’s curse or Toji’s blessing?
Let’s imagine Reggie’s curse does hold more weight to it. Now, consider the idea that a single action could escalate beyond Megumi’s control and result in a very specific outcome beyond his control.
And I have to wonder whether we are seeing the beginning stages of this idea. If you think about it, in the current arc, Megumi has shown that he will take any measure necessary to reach his goal, and that, despite his aloof and collected facade, he is becoming increasingly anxious.
While I could be wrong, it also feels to me like Megumi’s anxiety might be reaching a tipping point that is causing him to loose conscious control of both his shadow and his cursed energy manipulation.
The following panel has been the source of much debate because it looks like Megumi was out to kill Remi. But the truth of the matter was that prior to getting split from her, Megumi was going out of his way to protect Remi, so why would he be trying to kill her all of a sudden?
Tumblr media
That is not to say that there isn’t something very weird happening in the panel because Kon certainly has a crazed look on his face and I get the feeling that Megumi’s shikigami channel his emotional state.
And if we think of Tsumiki’s brief apparition in chapter 173, that vision he had of her feels rather sinister to me.
Tumblr media
And while it could be something as innocent as Megumi thinking of Tsumiki because she symbolizes his moral compass, is it possible Megumi created a Tsumiki with his shadow technique that has taken a life of its own? If this is what Gege is doing all I can say is that this is so Jungian af.
An out-of-control shadow is, in fact, psychologically-speaking, a sign that a person needs to do inner psychological work to re-integrate their shadow.
Again, re-integrating his shadow is how Megumi powers up.
Which brings me back to the idea that a fated event could shock Megumi to the core and cause him to reorganize his perspective of the world.
Perhaps Reggie’s curse does take effect and Megumi suffers a literal or metaphorical death.
Perhaps something will happen that will show Megumi that he isn’t quite untouchable as a cog that cannot be judged.
Perhaps something will happen that will cause Megumi to acknowledge God, or a Higher Intelligence that is beyond what his human mind can comprehend.
After all, Hana’s introduction into the story carries that particular symbolism.
Regarding said fated event, the obvious idea is that Tsumiki or Yuji’s literal death could affect Megumi greatly--imagine if Megumi is directly or indirectly responsible for the death of either of these characters he so esteems. His mental health is already greatly affected, how would this impact him?
But, then again, Gege could have other things in mind.
In the end, as a result, I believe Megumi could come to accept his vulnerability and inherent goodness.
ALL OF THIS said, as much as I would love to see Megumi going feral killing people during the Culling Game because Dark Megumy supremacy, what I want to see most is a Megumi who owns his family lineage and steps into his rightful role of leadership within the Jujutsu Sorcerer world.
In short, Megumi, as the chosen/blessed one, is part of Toji’s long-lasting legacy after having broken destiny.
In that way, Megumi too, as the son of the one who escaped fate through Heavenly Restriction, could be said to be one who can affect the fate of the Jujutsu-scheme of things through his actions.
Megumi’ology 101
Omg. This essay... if anyone has made it this far, thank you for reading.
Let’s just say that I really really really wish JJK would have been around back in 2013 when I started planning the topic for my Master’s Thesis. JJK is just so rich in symbolism that is ripe for exploration.
I have the feeling Dr. Vaughn would have looked at me like “are you for real? You want to write about anime?”
“Yes yes Dr. V. I want to write about anime.”
Anyways. Thanks again if anyone made it this far 😂. Seriously... like, did this many any sense at all?
Honestly. In the end, it doesn’t matter. All I know is that, as littleholmes so wisely said: I HAVE to gush about these characters!
Tumblr media
Omg I love Megumi but I’m so over this essay. I need to go do something stupidly dumb now... Like I am not even going to do a final re-read before I publish. OVER IT I TELL YOU.
Finally, a word of thanks to this meta’s sponsor: Coffee. Thank you to my local coffee roaster for providing me with amazing Guatemalan coffee to fuel this rant.

Who are you really, Gojo Satoru?
(⚠️⚠️⚠️Jujutsu Kaisen Spoilers ahead⚠️⚠️⚠️)
One of the key elements of mob psycho is that you are not the most important person. With all your special powers, your unique prowess with god and anime on your side, how great is that against learning how to do better in math? What about when you’re trying to woo a crush who’s already seen all your tricks?
That, in on its own, is the question Gojo Satoru has yet to answer for.
Tumblr media
I can’t believe I’m doing a character analysis over this dumbass
If you’ve ever wondered a “what if Mob never had Reigen” scenario, Gojo is the closest example. This isn’t just evident in the way that he’s an absolute manchild with his powers because he feels like there will never be consequences to his actions, but the aspect that he cannot perceive his identity beyond “strength.”
The world of Shaman / the Society of Sorcerers all perceive someone by the value of their strength alone. It doesn’t matter if that person is intelligent, has stable moral groundings or is able to overcome the most extensive of trauma. What matters to them, in the end, is how strong you really are. This is what made Gojo valuable because he was born strong. He didn’t eat a wrinkly finger from a dead cursed spirit, nor did he build himself to achieve such strength; he was born with it and was constantly hunted by bounty hunters.
Tumblr media
Imagine your parents saying that when you were born
Someone on Twitter did a psychoanalysis of Gojo and I couldn’t agree more that he was probably raised in the way “gifted kids” were; they had to always exceed their conservative / authoritarian parents’ expectations, if not they would be perceived as a disgrace to their family. It also clears up how Gojo turned out to be an absolute pompous brat later on.
Tumblr media
Take that phrase: “When Gojo was born, the power of the world was altered” and compare that to someone like Mob, who was raised without a heavy expectation for shifting the entire foundation of ESP:
Tumblr media
His father doesn’t do a comparison between espers, but rather how people waste away their lives without self-destructive indulgences like cigarettes.
From the day of his birth, Gojo became a practical poster child for said “limitless” potential. He wasn’t raised like Mob who just happened to have this great power, he was treated as if there was only one of him in the world (and there is!), but it mentally placed a child onto a pedestal and managed to severe his empathy to said “weak” links.
Tumblr media
“Protect the weak” what, are we the fucking teen Titans now??
In the eyes of a teenage Satoru, caring for the weak is as annoying as babysitting screaming brats. The only reason as to why he would say that is because he lacked empathy for those who were perceived as weak. The reason as to why he didn’t understand them was that he wasn’t raised around them / raised to understand them. He isn’t going to a normal HS, he’s going to a Curse College Tech where everyone has powers—but none of them as powerful as him.
Mob’s middle school only has three known espers: Mob, Ritsu and Takenaka. Everyone else is either a kid, a member of the body improvement club, or they’re unimpressed with psychic powers.
That eventually leads up to where Gojo learned his valuable lesson from: Getou. The scene in which Getou leaves after he lost purpose in being a Shaman is the closest we’ve got to a question asked in Mp100. There’s many ways to interpret it, but Getou (and even Nanami) always felt like they were consistently shadowed by a man who could do anything—ANYTHING—as long as he gave it his all.
Tumblr media
Gojo didn’t just get the Reigen talk that Mob did, he got the Reigen “you’re-an-adult-fighting-misguided-minors-with-superpowers-you’re-a-fucking-joke” talk.
It’s a parallel (not similar) to what we’ve seen in Mp100 where Reigen simply tells Mob to be a good person. Getou doesn’t tell Gojo to be good or terrible to others, he simply tells him that he could easily kill him if he tried. Yet, the question is what makes Gojo hesitate to end him there—as if being the strongest in a world that would sooner get rid of you once you lose your worth to it is meaningless if that is all you are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are you strong because you’re Kageyama Shigeo or are you Shigeo Kageyama because you’re strong?
This is what changes Gojo entirely, as he would sooner become a mentor for the next generation than to let his skin blister in the limelight longer than it has. However, the biggest factor that I’ve noticed about Gojo is that he doesn’t run away from the Shaman world afterward.
We don’t see Gojo in a Nanami-esque situation where he works as the wacky History teacher at some tiny highschool with unique powers. We don’t see him settle down with someone and have a family of his own, all while hiding his past to his children so he and his spouse can live comfortably. He, instead, wants to change the sorcery world from the inside-out because he doesn’t want his kids / the generations after him to become no better than the executives.
In a personal opinion, I think he still doesn’t know how to live without being a Shaman. Everything he does, he can do with just the right amount of elbow grease. He can literally become the prime minister, but it won’t give him a natural understanding of those he would mentor / massively shadow.

Watch your fucking profanity
In a twisted way, Gojo is trying to be what Getou would have been if he never defected. The only problem is that he’s not giving the next generation a broader insight of what lies beyond sorcerery. He doesn’t tell them that they have choices in life or informs them that they can astray from the tech. Instead, it’s borderline hypocritical where he expects the new generation to be able to change the world of sorcery without that insight. It only brings me, and even Gege, to ask this character:
How can you expect change if you, yourself, have never experienced it?

Masterlist Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
“What do you want to do, Riko?”
Despite their short time together, Suguru knew Riko yearned to see more of the world. However, it would forever remain the wishful thinking of a lonely child. Her status as the vessel for Master Tengen would keep her from making her wish into a reality.
“I thought that the pain and sadness I felt would disappear once I merged with Tengen-sama.” The girl looked down and let out a choked sob as tears streamed down her cheeks. “But…now…I want to be with everyone!”
If that’s what Riko wants, how could Suguru deny her? Sure, he would have to fight Master Tengen and everyone who opposed her decision, but that’s alright. He and Gojo would face them head on.
After all, they’re the strongest and nothing could stop them.
“Riko,” Suguru said, extending his hand to her. “Let’s go home.”
The girl wiped her tears with the sleeves of her uniform before giving him a bright smile.
“Yeah!”
BANG!
A shot rang out as Riko fell to the side, and a crimson color started to paint the ground beneath her head.
Suguru awoke with a start, and with his hands feeling sweaty. He scanned his surroundings and was relieved to find himself in the safety of his bedroom. He ran his hand through his hair, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm down. Still in his uniform, he was too tired from a mission to change into sleepwear. He must have passed out for a few hours, because it was already night.
He tried a few times to get back to sleep by closing his eyes, meditating, and heck, counting sheep. Unfortunately, none of these worked. Maybe a quick hot shower would help him.
Like the previous attempts, the shower failed to relax him.
With a frustrated sigh, he ignored the dampness of his hair as he put on a clean white shirt and a pair of sweatpants. Taking a small stroll in the school’s surroundings should hopefully help him fucking relax.
Opening the door, he breathed in fresh air, letting the cool evening breeze touch his heated skin. Closing the door behind him, he started to walk without any particular destination in mind. He started to think about what had happened after that fateful day.
Six months had passed since the Star Plasma mission had ended in failure. Much to his surprise, he and Gojo hadn’t faced any criticisms from the higher-ups. Suguru suspected that his best friend’s influence had something to do with it, but Suguru chose not to bring it up with Gojo.
Since then, his missions have been mostly solo assignments. On extremely rare occasions, one of the underclassmen would accompany him, but most of the time he was paired with Shion
He generally enjoyed working with Shion, but there was one mission that he desperately wished he had done alone.
One month ago…
Throughout his 2nd year as a Sorcerer, Suguru had been called to the headmaster’s office many times. Most of those calls were often caused by his best friend, who always managed to get them both into trouble. A few times, it was Suguru’s own fault. This time, it was neither.
It all started with a call from Watanabe, asking Suguru to meet him at the clinic. After hanging up, Suguru noticed that something about the school’s doctor seemed off: the eerily calm voice that Watanabe had used sent shivers down Suguru’s spine.
Suguru entered the clinic, expecting the usual calm atmosphere. Instead, he set foot in what seemed to be an interrogation room – Watanabe's presence alone was intimidating enough. Suguru’s uneasiness grew when the framed certificate in gun handling glinted with malicious intent.
Had it always been hanging on the wall there, or was it new?
“Oh, you’re here.” Watanabe directed his student at the vacant chair in front of him. “This shouldn’t take very long – depending on your answer.”
Suguru raised his brow in curiosity as Watanabe casually slid a manila folder on the table. When he picked it up, he recognized that it was a mission report – specifically from the assignment he and Shion completed two days ago. It was Shion’s turn to write the report.
As he went through the file, everything seemed to be in good order. It was clear and concise… Shion even wrote the time of the event, unlike a certain someone.
Then he saw it.
After the 1st grade spirit was swallowed by Suguru Geto, I wasted no time to suck him off for a good minute.
His eyes widened at this huge mistake. Suguru reread the whole report, searching for the word ‘poison’. That was what Shion should have explained – during the mission, he took a hit that had been intended for Shion. Unfortunately for him, the cursed spirit’s tail was laced with venom that had numbed his senses in his forearm. There was nothing helpful in her first aid kit, so she had to suck it out.
No wonder why Watanabe had called him to the clinic.
Suguru opened his mouth to speak. But before he could utter a word, Watanabe raised one hand to cut the boy off as he rubbed his temples with the other.
“Geto, I know you’re more responsible than Gojo but when a man and a woman trusts each other-”
‘Am I really getting that talk?’ Suguru thought.
“I know how sex works, Sensei,” he added aloud.
“That saves me a lot of trouble explaining it, then.” Watanabe scowled at him. “Look, I don’t give two shits if you guys fucked afterwards. I just need to know if you use protection or not before my wife tans my ass for letting Shion get pregnant.”
The last bit aroused a sense of curiosity in Suguru. Why did Watanabe's wife care, and how did she even know about any of this? As far Suguru knew, she was nothing but a simple civilian. Still, he would have to indulge his curiosity later as Watanabe was growing impatient with him.
“You got it all wrong, sensei – “
Even after hearing Suguru’s side of story, Watanabe was unimpressed with the latter’s answer – as if he had expected it to be a huge misunderstanding on Shion’s part.
Grabbing a pen from his pocket, Watanabe started to doodle on his clipboard. Suguru was confused – those files seemed to be important?
“And here I thought the ‘Sugar Daddy’ discussion with Gojo and Ito was the worst,” Watanabe grumbled.
In the end, the doctor patted Suguru on the back and sent him away with a condom, which he kept hidden in his wallet, never to see the light of the day.
Suguru’s evening stroll brought him to Shion’s doorstep. Despite what happened last month, he wasn’t expecting his feet to lead him there. When he knocked on her door three times, it was like his body was still on autopilot.
After a minute or so passed, footsteps approached and the door opened, revealing Shion in her sleepwear. Shion looked surprised to see Suguru because, well, who wouldn’t? He had just showed up at her doorstep at 10 p.m, unannounced.
“Suguru-senpai?” Shion cocked her head to the side. “What brought you here?”
In reality, he doesn’t know what brought him here. Yet, there was still a small part of him that he denied his desire to see her.
“I got you something when I had a mission at Fukuoka prefecture.” Suguru rubbed the back of his neck. “But as you can see I forgot to bring it with me.”
“There’s always next time, Senpai,” Shion said.
But it suddenly occurred to Suguru that there might not be a next time – a sad reality for sorcerers like them. Before he could consider this any further, Shion replaced her reassuring smile with a concerned expression.
“Besides, what do you think you’re doing, walking around outside at night with your hair wet?”
Before he could form another excuse in his head, Shion grabbed his hand and the sudden warmth made his heart beat a little faster than he liked.
“Come inside, I’ll dry your hair.”
Suguru decided to give her a quick nod instead of speaking, just in case his answer came out as a stutter.
Shion led him inside and gestured for him to sit on the floor near her bed before grabbing her hair dryer in her bathroom. Once he settled in, Shion sat behind him on her bed and began to dry his hair.
Combined with the white noises from the hairdryer and her dainty fingers running through his hair, he oddly felt peace for the first time in a while. He was starting to like Shion’s touches more than he wanted to admit. He almost dozed off, and would have fallen asleep if not for Shion calling his name.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Are you tired or something?”
He shook his head, trying to clear the sleepiness that was clouding his mind. “Nah. Just feeling nice.”
Shion looked at him skeptically before she continued drying his hair. After another few minutes had passed, she finally finished drying Suguru’s hair, and Suguru chose to ask her something that had been on his mind for a while.
“Do…you ever try to find meaning in our line of work?” Suguru said, turning around to look at Shion.
“Not really,” Shion shrugged. “Saving people and exterminating cursed spirits are just an integral part of my survival in this living version of hell. I’m simply waiting for Tsukumo-san with her answers to my own questions.”
From the way that she answered, Suguru knew it was better not to press the matter about Tsukumo’s connection to her. “Once you do have it, What will you do afterwards?”
Shion closed her eyes, pondering for a good few minutes before opening it again to meet his gaze.
“I can’t say if it’ll steer me from my path as a Sorcerer or not,” Shion twiddled her fingers. “But…at least it gave me closure.”
Closure? That word sounded so simple yet so foreign to him. Was that he truly been missing? And, if so, closure for what? His disastrous escort mission? The needless and preventable deaths of Amanai and Kuroi? The shitty Non-sorcerers whom he had sworn to protect?
Well, there was no point dwelling on those questions. All he could do was try to survive. If he got lucky, maybe he'd live long enough to find his own closure.
In the meantime, if he couldn’t find closure, maybe he’d find something else from Shion.
“Is that so?”
Suguru got up from the floor and extended his hand to Shion which she immediately grabbed onto it. He placed a quick kiss on the back of her hand, making the girl pull her hand from his grasp.
“W-WHAT’S THAT FOR?!” Shion’s face became redder than a fully ripened tomato.
“I’m merely expressing my gratitude?” Suguru coyly grinned at her. “Are you perhaps embarrassed by it?”
“NO I’M NOT!”
A chuckle escaped from his lips before quickly ruffling Shion’s hair. “Whatever you say, Shio-chan~”
“SENPAI!”
Before Shion could say anything else, Suguru left her room with a slight pink on his cheeks and a comfortable warmth that made him smile like a fool.
--------------------------
Halfway through his third year in the cursed world, his goal of protecting the weak and keeping the strong in check had become increasingly difficult for him to comprehend.
That was until Tsukumo Yuki, one of the three special grade sorcerers, paid a visit to college. She initially intended to meet with Gojo, but Suguru ended up spending time with her as well. During that time, she ended up lecturing Suguru about the existence of cursed energy and the origin of cursed spirits.
“Non-sorcerers lack the flow to maintain the curse energy within their body, making them more susceptible to create Cursed Spirits,“ Tsukumo said, placing her chin on her hand. “To put it bluntly, if all of humanity were sorcerers, no curses would be born.”
“Then…we should just kill all non-sorcerers.” Suguru said.
Hearing those words coming from his own mouth didn’t horrify him. Instead, a sense of relief washed over him, something that seemed like it might keep him afloat and stop him drowning in this mind-numbing sea of madness. The existing cracks in his beliefs were starting to get deeper when he processed this new information.
To his surprise, Tsukumo didn’t disregard his conclusion despite how inhumane it sounded. She actually found it to be a decent plan – or, at the very least, the easiest way to stop the never-ending war against the cursed spirits.
Shortly after his first meeting with the Special Grade Sorceress, misfortune struck.
It was supposed to be a 2nd Grade mission, and two 2nd years should be able to manage the situation on their own. But the school made a grave miscalculation, at the cost of a student’s life. Just like that, Haibara was gone – simply plucked away by death, with nobody but Nanami to witness his last moments.
Where was Shion in amidst all of this? She had been assigned a two-day mission at Kyoto, at the behest of a Zen’in brat. She wasn’t excited about it, but she couldn’t turn it down because the requestor had recommended her for a promotion from 3rd Grade to 2nd Grade. She had been looking forward to sharing the news with both of her friends, but when she returned, she received no congratulations, only a harsh slap from reality.
A few days after the fact, Suguru found himself walking around campus to kill time. Once again, he wandered on autopilot until his feet finally took him to the break room. Suguru found Shion and Nanami there already, and immediately noticed the heavy tension between them.
The girl stood on one side of the room, looking at everything but Nanami. As for Nanami, he had his nose buried in a book, completely unbothered by the situation.
Shion looked so uncomfortable that he had no choice but to step in.
“Nanami,” Suguru said, “Watanabe-sensei has been looking for you.”
The blonde sorcerer turned his attention to Suguru.
“What for?” Nanami closed his book.
“I don’t have the full details of it…” Quick Suguru! Think! “But I heard something about your medical paperwork.”
“That idiot! I bet he scribbled all over my files again.” With a frustrated sigh, Nanami got up from his seat before heading towards the exit. “That’s the second time this year…”
As Nanami left the room, Suguru approached Shion with caution as the death of their friend was still a very fresh wound, and it was best to approach it delicately.
“Something happened between you and Nanami?”
“It’s…nothing for you to be worried about, Suguru-senpai,” Shion rubbed her arm. “Me and…him just got into a small disagreement, that's all.”
It’s rare for the 7:3 sorcerer to give a cold shoulder to someone. Out of all the 2nd year students, Nanami had been the unspoken leader for as long as Suguru could remember. Despite Nanami’s moodiness, he always had to be the one to step in to keep his classmates in check. Understandable, because Shion was prone to disappearing along with Haibara in tow.
Weirdly enough, that’s what had caused the three of them to become so close: Shion and Haibara unintentionally getting into trouble, despite Nanami’s best attempts to stop them – which made it harder for the two friends to fill the void that Haibara left.
“How are you holding up?” Suguru asked.
“I’m fine,” Shion crossed her arms. “I find it pointless to mourn for the dead. It’s not like my tears would bring him back.” She spoke with such finality, the lack of emotions in her words almost made her seem like a different person.
Suguru knew better that the nonchalant expression she wore implied that she was okay. Even so, her eyes screamed in pain, and she kept her arms to herself as if she was trying to hold together. She looked so vulnerable, as if she could crumble at any moment.
Without even realizing it, Suguru pulled the girl into his embrace, hoping to stop her from falling apart any further.
Shion tensed for a brief moment before leaning into Suguru, burying her face into his broad chest. He could feel the tremors in her hands, but that wasn’t what worried him the most.
The way she cried silently, letting out pained sobs only for the both of them to hear; it was almost similar to a cry for help. His hand slowly moved to cup the back of her head, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the nape of her neck. Her cries became a little louder and he held her tighter. He didn’t really know what he was doing, and there were still so many things he wanted to do for her.
He wanted to protect her. He wanted to make sure she was alright, and would always be alright. They stood in silence for a moment, until he released her. The girl wiped her tears once again, trying to put on a brave facade. But there were still cracks within it all.
“A-ah…Sorry…” Shion looked down to avoid his gaze. “I…didn’t…mean to-”
“You’ll be alright,” Suguru gave a quick pat on Shion’s shoulder. “You have to be.”
Suguru regretted the words as soon as they came out of his mouth. What a shitty thing to say to someone who’s grieving. He wanted to punch himself for sounding so inconsiderate.
“O…Okay,” Not really knowing what else to say, she took a deep breath, composing herself.
She gave him a forced small smile. “I’ll try my best not to be affected by it. If you’ll excuse me, I have a mission to go to.”
Before Suguru could respond, she walked away, leaving the boy all alone in the break room. He clenched his fist in frustration. As much as he wanted to take his words back, It’s not like he could change the past, or make her forget it.
So instead, he’d just have to keep hoping that she would pull through, and that everything would eventually be okay.
-----------------------
It was that beautiful, fleeting hour of the night – not quite midnight – and the sounds of cicadas filled the air with a constant buzz. Suguru found himself in the college gardens, basking in the moonlight as the gentle breeze brought a cool welcome to his warm skin.
He knew that, like many things in his life, this peaceful scene wouldn’t last nearly as long as he wanted. He used this rare moment of tranquility to reflect on his past five years as a sorcerer.
Preciousness of the weak? And their ugliness? The lines between them had become so blurry that Suguru could no longer tell them apart. And everytime he tried to differentiate between them, the same memory always haunted him.
The thunderous applause from the crowd. Their smiling, callous faces. And Gojo standing in the center, dazed, holding the corpse of Amanai Riko.
And at some point of his life, a simple question had begun to plague him. What’s the point of protecting these worthless monkeys? They’re the damn reason why everything about this world is so fucked up. Their existence is nothing but an insult to those who are Sorcerers.
“It’s been a while, Suguru-san”
He turned to the side and found none other than Shion, bearing a small yet tired smile on her face.
“It’s been five months and I say it's overdue.” He shoved his hands into his pockets. “How's living with Satoru, Shion Gojo?”
“Fine.” Shion’s voice trailed off, looking at the flower patches near them. “We’re both so busy with work.”
Suguru knew that she was lying from the moment that she averted from his gaze. It reminded him of when they first met, and his initial impression of her; she always had her guard up. Honestly, he couldn’t blame her. She needed to be more careful now than ever, especially in light of recent events.
“Due to the success of her promotional mission and her efforts in the service of humanity, Ito Shion should be promoted to a 1st Grade Sorcerer.”
An explosion of murmurs erupted as Suguru observed Shion standing in the middle of the room. This should be a happy moment. She should be grateful.
So, why is she being treated like a criminal? Her hands and feet should be free from the cold chains. The plain white kimono she wore made it seem as if she were dressed for her own funeral. The stoic expression on her face told everything: she was done with life itself.
“However, after further careful deliberation, we think such rank would not be suitable for someone of her caliber. As such, we hereby officially recognize Ito Shion as a Special Grade Sorcerer.”
Recognized? What a load of bull. The Jujutsu community didn’t care about “service to humanity” — at the end of the day, they didn’t care who survived, or didn’t. Because at the end of the day, it was never about individual lives – only about meeting the quotas that come along with their status. The rank “Special Grade” is merely a watchlist for those who they deemed as dangerous.
Someone loudly cleared their throat, pulling Suguru back to reality from his thoughts. He noticed the room went quiet once again.
“As much as we want this to be a joyous occasion —”
How could they say that without looking at Shion in disgust?
“— misuse of her technique could cause the very foundations of our world to collapse. Without a clan to keep her in check, we simply cannot in good conscience allow her to live. In light of this, Ito Shion shall be executed immediately for the danger she holds.”
What a bullshit conclusion! If that was really how things worked, why did no one raise their voice for his execution? He wasn’t born into a clan, so he had no allegiance to anyone but himself. Like Shion, his technique was also considered one of the strongest. The ability to manipulate cursed spirits to his will should be enough to warrant his death.
Why did it have to be Shion?
“Could we wrap this up early?” Gojo asked, resting his chin on the palm of his hand. “Me and Shion have to speak with our wedding planner in less than 8 minutes.”
Everyone in the room (except for Tsukumo, Shion and Watanabe) turned their heads to look at Gojo so quickly they almost broke their necks, astonishment written on all their faces.
“What’s with everyone’s reaction?” Gojo’s lips curled into a smirk. He seemed to be enjoying the ‘scandal’ he caused.
“Have you not heard of the news? I, Gojo Satoru, the head of the Gojo clan, will be marrying my betrothed, Ito Shion, on the 24th day of March 2009.”
Many were livid or shocked at the news – inside the courtroom, and out. They were quite vocal about their opposition towards Gojo’s arrangement with Shion. Some claimed that he must be up to no good, considering his not-so-pristine reputation.
Still, they went silent when Gojo politely reminded them that he can and will kill them all with a single blast of his cursed technique. Especially if they kept bad-mouthing his betrothed.
As he observed all this chaos unfolding, a question popped into Suguru’s head. Rather than pushing it aside, he chose to entertain the thought for his own curiosity. Did Gojo intervene out because he truly cared for Shion? Or because she had a role to play in his future plans?
Whatever the reason, all Suguru could hope was that Gojo would look after Shion… but judging from the exhaustion in her eyes, his best friend clearly wasn’t doing his job. And if Suguru had to guess, Gojo may have put a good distance between him and his wife out of his own selfishness.
"Shion,” Suguru started. “Will you do me a favor?”
“What is it?”
“Come closer, and I’ll tell you.”
Shion complied, and moved forward until she was only a ruler’s length away from him. She waited patiently for Suguru to speak, noticing how deeply he was absorbed in his own thoughts.
As much as he wanted to whisk Shion away and protect her from this cursed world, Suguru restrained himself for three reasons:
First, she’s married to a man who has been in love with her for 4 years and counting – even if Gojo was in denial for most of them.
Second, maybe this marriage could benefit them both. Shion might finally be the one to bring her husband down from Heaven’s solitude – or perhaps, with Gojo’s help, she might become strong enough to rise from Earth and stand equal to him.
Finally, Suguru knew that he could never give Shion the happiness that she deserved. Once he went astray, he would have to travel a path full of thorns, leaving a trail of corpses of Non-Sorcerers behind.
Because of this, he went for the second best option.
Suguru pulled Shion into his embrace and no words were spoken between them. He simply held her for a moment, and then he planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Instead of warmth, a bittersweet feeling formed in his chest. Why? Was it because Shion would never be his in this lifetime? Or because he was giving her the sense of comfort that he needed but never dared ask for?
Although a small part of him hoped to see her familiar flustered state, the one he’d notice on their first mission and many times after, indicating she still had some feelings for him. That her heart also beats for him.
Instead, a dumbfounded expression appeared on Shion's face. Suguru just smiled and released her as if nothing had happened.
He walked away without a glance and headed towards his dorm. Suguru felt so empty. He didn’t know why — he just wanted things to go back to how they used to be. Yet he knew it was a futile wish, he had already accepted his true fate.
Still, that didn’t stop him making a silent promise:
Shion, if I ever raised my hand against you out of hatred, please drag my soul to the deepest level of hell…
—------------------------
SEPTEMBER 2009
“I’m home.”
Shion’s tired voice echoed through the empty hallways of their house as her side began to throb painfully. She winced as she lifted her shirt, only for her to find a red stain soaking her bandages.
She couldn’t help but shake her head in annoyance as she headed towards the bathroom. She opened the medicine cabinet, grabbing a fresh set of bandages and a bottle of painkillers.
It was too late for her to return to the clinic — besides, she still had to make dinner.
Shion sighed heavily before opening the bottle, taking out a few pills and swallowing them without water. She then carefully applied enough pressure to slow the bleeding as she waited for the medication to take effect. Eventually, the pills worked their magic.
Shion replaced the bandages and was relieved to find that her stitches hadn’t come undone — even so, she made a mental note to visit the clinic first thing in the morning.
To freshen up, Shion washed her face with cold water before checking her reflection in the mirror. Damn, she looked fucking ugly. Usually, she didn’t need much make-up to cover her imperfections. However, the dark circles beneath her eyes were getting worse and her complexion had lost its glow.
Well…this is what she gets for losing her grip on reality.
Since getting married, everything had become much too hectic and complicated. Shion didn’t know how to navigate these waters called life anymore. She was drowning in it all, with nothing around to save her. Nobody would reach for her hand — not even her husband, who had vowed to always support her.
Gojo’s vows were only empty promises of a selfish man who dedicated himself to nothing but his own ideals — and those were the only thing Shion greatly respected him about.
But then again, did she even have the right to complain? He had only married her out of pure convenience. She already knew her place the moment he said those words to her:
“Don’t die until I say so, Shion.” He lowered his shades so that she could see his dangerously beautiful blue irises. “—or you’ll face the consequences.”
After a quick change of clothes and a touch of concealer, Shion headed towards the kitchen to make dinner. Yet, before she could even begin cooking, she had to deal first with the dirty dishes piled up in the sink. Not only that, she caught on the sight of small stains on the stove and some dust bunnies that scurried underneath the dining table — they needed to be dealt with, as well.
When was the last time she cleaned the house? Had it already been a week?
There were so many things that needed to be done, but so little time to do them all.
Shion shook her head, getting a hold of herself. She had to think about her priorities: her top objective was to finish dinner before Gojo returned home. Surely, he would be quite hungry and tired from back to back missions. That’s what she heard from Shoko last week.
‘I should have made a quick stop at his favorite cake shop earlier,’ Shion thought.
Alright — she would just have to cook a very delicious meal to make up for the lack of dessert.
“I thought you won’t be home till 9.”
A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts, tearing her gaze away from the dirty sink to the direction of the sound. Her golden eyes met a pair of black sunglasses, covering lustrous blue eyes.
“The mission concluded earlier than expected,” Shion answered as she put away some of the dirty dishes into the dishwasher. “As for dinner, I-”
“I took Megumi and his sister to dinner a while ago.” Gojo took off his coat before hanging it on his arm. “And you?”
She immediately lost her appetite. Would it hurt Gojo to fucking text her just once?!
Shion internally sighed in frustration at the latter’s inconsiderate behavior. Still, it was better to bite her tongue than to spew venomous words at Gojo. On her behalf, he already had to deal with enough bullshit from the higher ups.
She nodded. “I went with Nanami before we went our separate ways.”
The room became quiet once again and Shion didn’t like it. She tried her best to distract herself from the suffocating silence while washing the dishes. A small hum escaped her from her lips to mask her pained grunt when she accidentally cut one of her fingers.
Gojo chose to cut the silence with a question.
“You saw the news.”
Shion stopped washing the dishes.
“Yes.”
“Do you blame him?”
Geto Suguru is now considered the most dangerous cursed-user after he single-handedly massacred 112 civilians in a village.
When Shion first heard the news, she didn’t want to believe it. She called Suguru’s number over and over, but it kept on going straight to an automated voicemail. How could someone like him kill so many innocent people for no reason?
After the 8th failed attempt to reach Suguru, she went in-person to his parents’ home. But she did not find Suguru — only the bloody remains of his mother and father. Shion panicked at the sight and ran as quickly as possible, desperate to leave before anybody saw her and pegged her as an accomplice.
Only Yaga knew that she had gone to Suguru’s home. When she first reported Suguru's act of parricide, she made him promise not to tell anyone her secret — not even Gojo, even though he and Suguru had been so close. Why? Because she didn’t want to bother her husband..
But…that doesn’t answer her husband’s question…Does she blame Suguru for his crimes? Yes and no. It sounded confusing because it was confusing. Yes, Suguru was responsible for those atrocities, but she couldn’t blame him.
The selfish nature of their job as Sorcerers is too much to ask for a kind-hearted individual like Geto.
She finally broke the silence with her answer. “I don’t blame Geto for it.”
Her husband scanned her expression, only for Shion's heart to crack a bit as she noticed the sliver of distrust in his eyes.
“Is that so?” Gojo started to make his way to his bedroom. "I’m gonna go to sleep.”
Shion quickly wiped her hands on her apron before loosening the strings. “Let me draw you a bath, then —“
Without sparing a glance, Gojo replied. “Thanks, but I’m too tired.”
Shion heard the door to her husband’s room closed, leaving her all alone with a dangerous thought:
This is no better than being dead.
The thought came suddenly, unbidden, like it had never left her mind before she got married to this man. It did nothing to soothe the ache in her chest that was slowly growing ever stronger. She shook herself from her reverie, forcing herself to confront reality once more.
This cold and empty house would now be her home until she died.
This marriage was for convenience’s sake, and nothing else.
This another chance at life is an insult to the living.
And, she’s fine with it. She had to be.
Shion went to her room and curled up into a ball on her bed. She took in several long deep breaths, getting her emotions under control once again. It took some time and she struggled to blink back tears.
Despite her overwhelming sadness, nothing could stop her from sending a prayer for him.
I pray that you may find the peace you long for in this never-ending conflict, Suguru.

More Than This VI 《V》
It’s no surprise XL gains his own taste of fame after walking the red carpet with one of the most sought-after actors in the country. He doesn’t mind it, going as far as to create a few social media accounts to interact with fans and scroll through their photos and edits of him. He has a few fan sites too, but only for fancy events where he chooses to be recognized in public.
XL and HC agreed before sharing their relationship with the public that they would maintain a strong sense of privacy when it came to their personal lives. They only share what they want to. The paparazzi who manage to take photos without permission are immediately disciplined so it doesn’t happen again.
(“I can’t believe you did it.”
“Hmm, Gege said he was okay with it.”
“I know! But I didn’t expect you to actually....” XL stares at a recent selfie of them HC had posted on his Twitter, taken the night HC won his award. “We look like we just had sex.”
“Nobody’s gonna know.”
XL raises an unimpressed eyebrow at his boyfriend. HC insists again.
“Nobody’s gonna know-”
“They’re gonna know,” XL says with a sigh, pointing to the hickey marks clearly visible on the photo. HC rolls over closer to XL in their bed, scrutinizing the image on XL’s phone.
“Oh, I didn’t see those when I posted the photo.”
“San Laaang!” XL cries, pushing at the taller man’s shoulder before burying his face into his pillow. HC makes XL breakfast in bed as an apology and promises to not drunk-post anything again.)
Eight months after officially dating–which is over two years since they met–HC asks XL to move in with him. XL doesn’t even need to think about his answer, a simple “Yes! Yes please!” escaping his lips. Both HC and XL’s faces light up with overjoyed smiles.
They seem to have had the same idea about where to live, purchasing a home they’ve been eyeing for months! The best aspects include a massive yard (front, side, and back) for XL to tend to, a hot tub, and a spacious living and dining room area to entertain guests. It’s not the grandest or most impressive residence by size or feature. In fact, the first months have them living in a half-finished, rusty house with the prettiest garden you’ve ever seen.
It gradually gets better. HC and XL knew they would have to do a lot of work to improve the shape of their home. Over the next year, they repair and remodel the house themselves, simultaneously adding value to the property and curating the style to fit their dream home. XL makes sure to post progress photos on his social media. His most recent selfie of HC and himself in hardware glasses got over 500k likes! He pinned HC’s comment that said, “Gege is my own very handyman!”
(HC, in a sleeveless tee, shorts that show off his ass, hair pulled back into a high bun: “Gege, you’re the boss now. Tell me what to do.”
XL, struggling not to gawk at HC’s side boobs: “O-okay, first, can you smash those cabinets-”
Cue them making out against the counter when it’s the only part of the kitchen that is fully done.)
***
Having a partner who considers the outdoors as a second home is a special experience. XL often takes HC on dates to national parks and plant nurseries. They go on weekend camping trips where XL teaches HC how to properly filter water, summit long stretches of terrain, and stay warm during cold nights with below-freezing temperatures.
(HC, trying to fit into XL’s sleeping bag: “Hi, gege-”
XL: “San Lang, you have your own sleeping bag that you can actually fit in.”
HC: ‘But I’m cold. Gege helps keep me warm.”
XL: “Fine. But let’s use yours because it’s bigger.”
HC, kissing XL’s forehead: “Thank you, my love.”)
On their hikes, XL points to different plants, explaining their origins and why he finds each one particularly beautiful. At first, HC picks up random flowers on the way home and then he asks XL about what flower fate gave him that day to gift his beloved. (“San Lang, that’s not allowed!”) HC eventually stores all the random facts in his mind, always eager to listen to XL talking about his passion. He also learns to keep his hands from digging up “poor, helpless plants from their home soil.”
However, this unfortunately doesn't prevent HC from accidentally squishing some plants in their yard that he thought were just weeds.
(HC, thinking he’s a good partner: “Get out, stupid weeds. CHOP CHOP!”
XL: “SAN LANG STOP, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”
HC: “Gege always works so hard. I just wanted to help you in the yard today because you deserve it.” 🥺
XL: *sigh* “I appreciate the gesture, San Lang. But those particular grasses took months to grow, and you just killed them-“)
***
Countless media outlets try to stir up trouble like they typically do with celebrities. Especially when HC has roles that involve romance, articles claiming HC and XL are on the brink of breaking up receive lots of attention. However, what gains more attention are the videos the couple posts on Youtube or Instagram live of their reactions to their “scandals.”
(XL, reading a headline: “Actor bachelor Hua Cheng and co-star Yushi Huang seem to be cozying up after a late-night shoot.’”
HC: “I’m not a bachelor, the fuck?”
XL, smiling: “You could be. Me as well. We can be bachelors together.”
HC, chuckling: “All right. If gege is, then so am I.”
The comments: “That doesn’t make any sense!?”
HC, reading another headline: “HC’s lover found with a mysterious third party??”
XL, exclaiming: “Oh, that’s Shi Qingxuan! You know, the designer for all our red carpet outfits!” 🥰🥰
HC: *nodding along*
XL, cheekily: “-and my secret second-lover”
HC: *blanches* “What.”
XL: “Kidding!!!! San Lang is the only one for me, hehe.” *kisses HC’s cheek* “Okay, next one!”)
Everyone watching the videos is 50% confused and 50% entertained as HC and XL make light of any drama the media portrays them in. Viewers accept that of course, the rumors aren’t true; HC and XL are still very much in love.
They’re in love with each other and will continue falling for many years to come.
***
HC doesn’t like watching himself on screen. However, he does enjoy previewing his own movies for the first time with his boyfriend.
While XL watches the new movie, HC observes XL’s reactions. It helps that XL is a conversational movie watcher too. XL’s narrations consist of horny comments during the sexual scenes (“Ooh, that’s hot. Nice tongue.” “Thank you?”), side remarks about the plot and characters (“San Lang, your character is very rude.” “...”), and dramatic reactions to the huge reveal scenes where HC becomes a human punch bag. (“Oh my goooosh, San Lang!! It was him all along- AHH!!”)
As a perfectionist, something you have to be in HC’s field of work, HC is incredibly self-critical of his performance. Which is another reason why it’s nice to have XL watch alongside with, who never has a shortage of praises for his boyfriend.
(HC: “Fuck, why did they leave this shot in the final? I’m supposed to be mourning for my dead lover but instead, I look like I’m crying out of daddy issues. Why did no one tell me!? It looks so bad-” *pointing to himself on the screen* “-stop looking so constipated-!”
XL, squeezing HC’s nape and massaging his shoulders: “San Lang, no one thinks that except for you. You did everything perfectly. Please acknowledge your hard work and just enjoy the movie.”
HC: *sigh* “You’re right. Okay. Thanks, gege.”
A beat of silence. HC cuddles closer to XL.
HC: “Love you.”
XL: “Love you too.”)
***
XL now knows HC’s movies well enough to quote HC’s lines in his movies to make him laugh. HC happily indulges him, questioning after breaking character, “Gege, are you sure I’m the actor out of the two of us?”
One time, HC and XL are in their kitchen re-enacting a scene with HC as the investigator going to a bartender for more information on his suspect. HC has XL caged against the counter, asking in a teasing manner, “How can I repay you for your help tonight?”
XL lowers his eyelids, looking up through his lashes, flawlessly depicting his character. “Any restrictions on your offer?”
“No, darling. Name a price, a brand, a desire. Right now, anything is on the table,” HC says huskily. XL slyly bites his lip.
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
XL brings a hand up to cup HC’s jaw, then smooths it down his neck, traveling down his bare chest. XL tilts his head to expose his neck, wanting to build up his boyfriend’s anticipation. But before he can say his next line, HC effortlessly throws XL over his shoulder like a bag of rice.
“San Lang, wait, this is not how it went in the movie!” XL shouts, a little dizzy from the sudden lift turning him upside down. HC takes long strides to their bedroom, plopping XL on their mattress and blanketing him with his larger frame.
HC only utters a husky “we’re improvising” before diving down to devour XL’s lips. XL’s arms hook around HC’s neck, holding him impossibly close.
***
After a filming shoot where HC’s character gets beaten up–HC performing his own stunts–he heads home beyond exhausted. He just wants to take a relaxing shower and cuddle his boyfriend in their warm bed.
HC arrives at their house a little past midnight. He opens the door and finds XL’s back facing him, quietly humming a song as he takes care of the vase in the living room. The sight makes HC smile.
However, as XL turns around, the vase slips from his hands and explodes into pieces on the ground.
“San Lang! What happened to you!?” XL cries out, the panic in his voice only comparable to the day he had confessed. HC stands in the doorway confused. Was something wrong with his appearance?
XL is on him in an instant, his pupils shaking as he frantically asks, “Does it hurt a lot? What happened!?”
HC blinks, expression blank as he still doesn't understand what has freaked XL out. But as the shorter man gently caresses HC’s face, it suddenly hits him.
The make up!
HC urgently starts rubbing the fake bruises off his face. “Gege, I’m okay! It’s just make up, none of this is real. See?” He holds his hands out for XL to see as the pigment stains HC’s palms. “I’m so sorry! San Lang is dumb, he didn’t mean to make you worry,” HC murmurs as he takes XL between his arms. He really loves this man too much.
XL’s teary eyes shine glimmer as HC embraces him. “Y-you’re sure you’re okay?”
HC nods, leaning into the slender hand that cups his cheek.
“Thank goodness,” XL breaths out as he buries his face into HC’s neck. His next words are slightly muffled. “It looks…so realistic.”
“Yeah, the make up artists are all quite talented, aren’t they?”
XL clings tighter to HC.
“Very much so. Let’s shower so we can properly wash it off.”
“All right,” HC says. “Wait, we?”
XL tugs HC toward the master bathroom.
“Hush, let’s go.”
***
They lay in bed together after four long months of separation. Both of them had been in different parts of the country; HC filmed a drama series while XL traveled for several high-profile projects. Their respective busy work schedules limited communication to brief video chats and text messages, which never seemed enough.
Now, with his head resting on HC’s chest, their legs overlapping comfortably, XL finally feels like he’s where he belongs.
“Why did you choose me?”
Tactical fingers massage XL’s scalp, lulling him into a serene state of bliss. XL nuzzles further into his boyfriend-sized pillow.
“It’s not like I can choose who I fall in love with, Gege,” HC states with a light chuckle. “But if you want an answer, it’s because you are everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner.”
XL looks up at his boyfriend, mouth forming a shape of an O.
“That simple? Even when we made a deal to have no strings attached?” XL asks. HC groans at the reminder of their initial agreement.
“Yes, which was a dumb decision on my part.”
“I agreed to it too. We were both dumb.”
They are silent for a moment. It’s not the first time they’ve talked about or referenced their insecurities when it came to confessing their feelings. XL’s luck when it came to dating someone who could love him for every part of him was practically nonexistent. HC’s constant grappling for his self-identity and worth rendered most of his relationships superficial. And temporary.
Always temporary.
“I can’t believe you thought I didn’t like your plants though. They’re so pretty. And fascinating.” HC says, breaking the silence.
“They take up half our living room space.”
“So? You work with plants all day. They’re bound to be a part of your personal life as well.”
XL’s heart bursts with a sudden fondness. It’s a wonderful thing to be appreciated for the little things.
“I’m glad you think so,” he says happily. HC hums in response, sending vibrations to where XL’s cheek lays on his chest. “I can’t believe I didn’t know you were a famous actor for the first three months we…”
“Met up for sex?” HC finishes with an impish grin.
“Yes,” XL laughs.
“It was nice not to be recognized for once. With you, I could just be myself,” HC says with ease he never thought he would be able to do. He’s struggled with letting himself be vulnerable his whole life. It turns out, HC just had to find the right person. And thank god he did. XL is more than HC’s outlet from his career. He’s become HC’s closest friend who knows him the best; he is HC’s number one supporter in any endeavor he pursues; he makes HC feel important. XL sees and loves HC for who he is. No amount of fame or wealth could come close to comparison.
“Gege?”
“Hmm?”
“Does it ever bother you that my life is always everyone else’s business?” HC softly asks.
“Well, the fame can be a bit…uncomfortable,” XL admits. “But you’re an amazing actor. And a remarkable person. I can’t blame your fans for loving you so much, you know? I also got to ride in a limo-“
“Which you rode very well-”
XL flicks his boyfriend’s forehead.
“You’re so predictable.”
“You would’ve said the same thing given the chance. Don’t lie, gege.”
They go back and forth a little longer, never once creating unnecessary distance between each other as they roll around until they’re on their sides. Facing each other in their bed that’s been vacant for months, HC and XL are inseparable.
“As I was saying, fame is something that comes with your job–your passion. You can’t control it, nor does it solely characterize who you are. Besides, I get to be a part of your life! That’s all that really matters,” XL continues. He shifts forward so their bodies are closely pressed together. XL plants a kiss on HC’s chin, then whispers a confession that tilts HC’s entire world on its axis.
“I’ve been waiting my whole life for someone like you.”
HC’s world spins and spins until all that he sees is his beloved, gleaming brighter than all the galaxies without the power to disrupt their orbit. He wraps his arms around XL and kisses the top of his head.
“Me too, Gege.”
Bonus:
HC watches wearily as XL salivates at a showering scene where HC’s bare ass flashes in the frame. XL turns to HC with a serious look in his eyes.
“San Lang! Hiking has done your ass wonders.”
XL sneaks a grope to a meaty cheek. HC chokes.
***
“You can’t be late to your own premiere!” XL cries incredulously.
“Try me,” HC purrs into XL’s ear, delicately kissing the lobe.
XL gasps as teasing hands roam around his torso, one of them slipping down to cup his behind. He vaguely thinks about how SQX is expecting them in the next hour to help with their red carpet outfits. But when hungry lips attach to the sensitive column of his neck, XL is a goner.
“Gege doesn’t have to do any work. Just lay back and look pretty.”

im a sucker for dad!everyone and I have no idea why
okay so tokyo revengers spoilers below
---------
when akkun jumped off the roof in like episode 4?? (I found a way to not say the word LMFAO) the sound the put when he makes contact with the ground is the sound a box filled with books makes when thrown off a window and it reminded me of the bread video bc its such a dry sound why would they do that
Literally just for the hot guys someone send help-
I wanna say thats kinda a meet cute and lowkey adorable that he mentioned meeting up but 'remind me and we'll arrange it' sounds like a business transaction im so sorry ✋ if you feel comfortable sharing the long story im all ears!! I love long stories 👀 feel free to go off topic more often I well I always do that anyway 😭
OKAY oh boy, where do I start. Its literally so simple to explain but im dramatic as fuck so let me indulge myself ANYWAY so basically we were talking through chat, we spent almost everyday talking and it was sweet and funny and stuff, ya know?? or maybe I was convincing myself he was lol so it was just a normal day after school and we were talking and I think at some point he got boring of just texting so he said "give me a sec im gonna go play with a flamethrower" mid convo and I think something inside of me died. kinda glad he gave me the ick tho, I don't think I liked him that much :/
much hatred for the "I watch real shows lol" >:( specially bc all of the people saying that watched dragon ball or pokemon 😭 when I was younger I usually responded like "haha yeah...ig :,)" but now im ready to smack a bitch; you know what they say, violence isn't the question its the answer 😌
You're gonna make me have a soft spot for eremika TT it sounds very bittersweet when you explain it, but it does make sense why romance wasn't a main plot (I dunno if this is the correct way to say it). AND JEAN! he grew on me so yes, he definitely deserves to be first choice>>>
I think im gonna watch the anime after it finished airing or something. I always say im gonna do so many things but then I get distracted by fanfics lol watch me scream
Aki and Megumi found family trope??? 👀 this is making me think of hurt/comfort followed by pure angst, hurt/no-comfort huh :)
KANEKI??? HE VOICES KANEKI???? I loved watching Tokyo ghoul (I watched two seasons!) :( I had the softest spot for Kaneki but I refused to accept it bc I was scared were gonna make fun of me LMFAO I did have a massive crush on Hide tho, and was very vocal about that lol
I remember watching a gif set of baby tanjiro and my heart melted; same thing with Yuuji I think
Hollywood only thinks of making money over hiring good vas and like random celebrities voicing characters isn't bad ig?? like quality wise, the movie is watchable and entertaining, but still I'd like to see vas recognised for their talent a lot more.
Chris pratt *massive sigh* I heard the only reason why he was taking so many va gigs was bc he didn't get the vaccine so he couldn't go to work or smth; I could be wrong tho.
wait, which dub were you talking about?? the jjk dub??
NO.
NOT GOJOGUMI OR WHATEVER IS CALLED 😭 why?? why with the kids?? 😭
ive seen monstrosities on ao3, I could name them but huh...
Gege I a sadist and I refuse to think to think otherwise LMFAO I little part of me thinks that he might see himself in gojo a bit too much and thats why he doesn't like him lmfao
I think my brain blocked the opinion bc I cant remember?? I think they talked about how the hidden inventory arc made no sense bc apparently gojo is constantly jumping dimensions or something?? and like fair ig bc I know shit about this series but?? I was so confused, I think it just short circuited. Its that a take on his character?? I think I worded it wrong now that I think about it, I love her so much she's the best of the best but I felt attacked, and thats on me 😔 she also hasn't read the manga so we're Ig in even common ground lol
YOU WILL GET IN!!! It sounds so fun :D im sending you as much positive vibes as I can <3 disabilities law sounds interesting! do you have any idea what you'd like to specialise in the future??
I'll be on the lookout for the honorary dilf 😌
right?? wtf 😭 ive only seen college aus in which the pairing is like teacher/student with nanami and like I don't mind but I want my student/student college aus LET ME INDULGE 😤 thanks for hyping me up :,) its gonna be more fluffy+suggestive id say?? def not angst bc I cant write angst for nanami; Shibuya already did that for me lmfao
tho if im honest, I think im stuck bc I keep comparing every sentence to the gojo fic I uploaded lmfao
<making you blush3
sending wet slurpy kisses right back 😌💕
I hope you have a good week! and sorry for the late reply, I was stuck using Tumblr mobile for a while 😅
OH AND IM WATCHING THE JJK MOVIE ON THURSDAY 🥳 think Im gonna put mascara solely on my lower lashes just bc 🤷‍♀️ I hope the song at the end doesn't hurt me too much tho lmfao it will
-🥳 anon
ps: I probably should've put this at the beginning but I feel like this wasn't the best response?? like I feel like the energy in my ask is a little down, and I think it might've been a bit venty as well?? I don't now if you can feel it TT I felt a bit like a poser after I finished writing this and I'm sorry if anything I wrote came off wrong :,)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
STOP APOLOGISING
anyways lol there is a long ass story about a guy i liked in hs under the cut 👀 it's really long tina i'm so sorry 😭
OHH OKAY LMAOOOO YEAH HE JUST WENT plop
LMAOO YEAH that's what i thought too 😭 my friends got the ick when he said that
okay so!!
i met this dude in 10th grade and he was a senior (12th grade here). we had this jukebox kinda thing in the backyard of our school and we got the keys for it that year, which meant that we could play songs for everyone to hear during lunch breaks. so, that week, i went to watch bohemian rhapsody and OBVIOUSLY had queen brainrot and i was OBSESSED with killer queen. my phone had died so i had left it in my classroom. my friends weren't very fun, they all were doing their homeworks etc etc and i was just sooo bored. anyways, at the last 10 minutes or something, there were only like 4 of us left. my friends were begging to go upstairs and we almost did lol this group of older students came, which meant that they would annoy us and beg us to let them play something shitty (not in genre, they would purposefully open popular shitty songs- it's hard to explain lol it's kind of a turkish thing) so we were like okay :/
i was talking to my friend, this dude started playing killer queen LMAOO i looked at him and smiled, i was like "i love this song!" idk man i used to be so shy but something in my brain flipped off wlsakmdasmwed he looked straight into my eyes and was like "you know queen?" i said "yeah! i love them! i've been dying to play this song but my phone is dead" and he just looked at my eyes like 🧿👄🧿 his eyes were really pretty 😭 i went back to talking with my friends anyways the class was about to start, so we got up and packed. i was soooo nervous lmaoo i didn't even look at him LKMWALKDSMASWED IT GETS WORSE LATER HOLD ON he called behind me and asked which class i was in, NOT MY NAME anyways i told him and waved. my friend was teaaasinggggg me but i shook it off
i started gathering info about the dude. i found his class and stuff, nothing more. idk who sent follow request on instagram first, it was probably me lmaoo but turns out, he's pretty popular! everyone knows him too. i would sometimes share songs on my story and he would always respond. he asked me if i liked david bowie and i said never really listened to him so he shared his bowie playlist! anyways this went on. i would see him in the school garden lol i wouldn't say hi, because we never really met you know? this is a huge problem of mine lkwmsads people think i hate them or something to this day, i'm just too shy what if they don't recognize me NAYWAYS
i thought about the pros and cons. turns out, this dude was living in the dorms (our high school was the best in our city so people from other towns would live in dorms) which meant that he wasn't even from my city? he was also a senior so he probably wouldn't like to be involved with those kind of stuff so i didn't really bother. it was fun tho! so, the day before his uni entrance exam was our last day of school, so the teachers arranged this party stuff with cakes and shit (also! i found out that he was a pretty successful student and would score high on his tests klmsewdlmef this is kinda important cause i like academically successful people 😭my sapiosexuality only works that way) i built up the courage to go wish him well on his test. i could never get him alone, and since my friends didn't know we used to talk occasionally, i left. i waited to make eye contact with him, but i guess it was his time to avoid me. so, i sent my wishes that night, thinking he wouldn't respond. he did, like 2 minutes after i sent the message. he said "we never really got time to get to know each other" GOD I REMEMBER THIS NOW EKSAMDCDLSW i don't remember what i said, i remember i felt kinda embarrassed cause it felt too, out there obvious. it hit me then, that i would never see him again. NOT. we'll get to that >:) i felt sad, i liked having a lil crush. that lil heart skip. i'm not really sure if it WAS a crush, but it definitely was something. oh, he also added me to his close friends like the moment we started following each other and i did the same. WAIT FUCK kKLMWSADLKASEWF HE LOVED DONNIE DARKO??? WHICH IS MY FAVORITE FILM??? I HAVE AN ORIGINAL POSTER IN MY ROOM???????? WHAT THE FUCK???? anwyays i watched pulp fiction for him 😌 it was a win win. oh right, i was sad so i chugged down a whole beer, which was a lot for 16 year old me who went out with her parents lmaooo i was like "pour another one, we're drinking tonight" and they only let me drink 1 💀
what's crazy is
i used to be a scout right? we went to this camp. i got bored, and decided to check if he had a facebook 💀 he didn't, so i was like damn.
2 DAYS LATER HE POSTS A NEW FACEBOOK ACCOUNT ON HIS IG STORIES???? WHAT THE FUCK??? i ran laps i screamed i cried anyways i went to send him a friend request, he already sent me one. cool! i was 14 on my profile picture 💀 thankfully i had deleted everything ages ago
all summer, nothing. NO! results come in, HE'S 1ST IN OUR SCHOOL?? LIKE HE SCORED AN UNGODLY SCORE?? i was like holy shit he went to one of the best, if not the best, uni in our country
so, fast forward 11 grade, first day of school. we were talking in our class (our classes got mixed that year) dude walks in to greet our teacher with his friend and starts talking about the exam and shit. no eye contact? alright whatever lol. 2 or so months later, we go on a trip to visit the unis in that city and his uni is a famous student attraction. he has close friends from his dorm too, so he jumps in on our bus. it was raining so much so we had to stay inside the bus. anyways, we go down, no eye contact still. klsmwadslakwme whatever i say it really is time to stop thinking about him. he vanished off the surface of earth not too long after too lmaoo anyways he probably had a girlfriend back then. so, early pandemic, he deleted his twitter and stopped posting on ig and i hadn't even thought about him at all
he posted a pic on his story... uh,,, october this year? idk at least i knew he was still alive 💀
we went to ikea with my friends one day and got in the wrong bus, ended up in the most ridiculous place so i posted a selfie of us and added it in my close friends (mind that i post from new years to new years) and he responded! he said "you're in this city and didn't invite me?" and i jokingly responded with something. this was late at night, i didn't see him respond and went to bed. i woke up at 9 am and saw that he said "oh btw congrats on your uni! turns out we are really close (our unis are super super close), so we can sit down sometime if you'd like to" and i thought i should respond when im fully awake and went back to sleep. i woke up at 12 pm with my brain mushy and responded with some cringy fucking joke and just liked the message he talked about sitting down. he liked my respond. we were gonna go to a concert that night. i started getting ready, didn't think much of the message. as i was plucking my eyebrows, it occured to me, how DUMB i was. how much of an IDIOT i was. i texted my friends "i did something horrible". i got ready and hopped on the bus, thought about it the whole ride. i got out, met with my friends and told them, HOPING they would at least support me a lil. the first thing they say? "zee, you're such a fucking idiot" i was like "I KNOW" anyways it went on a little more. i said "if i drink enough tonight, i will text him"
2 beers in, mid concert, i sent him a message. "you know, i double tapped it or smth like that but i would really love to meet" sent it, pushed my phone in my pocket. 5 minutes in, i see a notification saying "we only talked on ig" CHILLS MAN I THOUGHT HOLY SHIT THIS DUDE IS SAYING wtf we only talked here KMDSLWKMSDWLKFR FUCKING IPHONE i opened it and he said "same! we only talked on here right? never met face to face" "yeah, guess it was meant to be in this city" "haha yeah. remind me of it and we'll plan something" "sure :)"
this was it omg this shit is so long for no reason, sorry for this lmaooo he's really pretty too lkwsmdaxlsamdwecf i can't i will probably never remind him lol
oh shit wait
my hs friend who goes to the same uni as me, when i told her about my past with the dude, she said she hated the guy bc he ghosted one of her friends. like, he wouldn't wave at her, respond to her texts and stuff. he didn't do any of that with me, so i'm wondering if he liked how i wouldn't really acknowledge him irl lol
yeah that was it lol
flamethrower?? yeah bestie you dodged a bullet there
that dude was also a huge naruto fan. like, he would sometimes wear that bandana and i was like "hmmm okay" i became a weeb literally one year after that 😭 karma is a bitch, death note is bitchier
kaneki was HOT. i liked it when he got violent >:) i could never warm up to tokyo ghoul and keep forgetting that i watched it lol. kaneki was hot tho. i want to read the manga so much, sui ishida is a legend
LKEMWSADCFLKWSDMF NOT THE VACCINE THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE THOO
dubs in general i guess? jjk dub is pretty meh imo. i liked the part where yuji calls nobara a bitch tho
i don't like the so clearly american accent in anime dubs, you know? the way they overdramatise the voices gives me the icks. thats why i loved the death note dub! it was so on point, no unnecessary dramatic moments, following the steps of the original vas. also light's monologue was sick, l's voice was sicker
wait, how does your friend find it bad if they haven't read the manga yet?
aah i didn't get in lol i didn't really expect to be picked anyways so it's cool. thanks for the vibes tho <3
i haven't picked anything yet, i still have very little law knowledge. i've always wanted to be a criminal lawyer (like higuruma hehe) but it looks like i would be more successful (money wise) in private law branches. i also don't know if i want to be connected to the government in any way. fuck the government. i probably wouldn't be picked too lol i'm super marginal for their conservative views. i would LOVE to be a da or prosecutor in usa, like new york lol i watched too much law and order. but yeah, for now, i'm focusing on exploring and seeking out anything involving foreign countries. i would love to study abroad for a master's degree too
ooh hell yeah! go for it!
i was writing the vibrator fic with nanami and realized how LITTLE fics with nanami eating reader out exists lmaoo sorry for the sudden nsfw topic but it was so weird! i don't think i've read it outside of fics specifically for eating out???
WATCH IT FOR ME TOO >:'''''')))) HOW WAS IT DON'T TELL ME BUT TELL ME HOW WAS IT??? HOW HOT WAS GETO
LOVE YOUUUU HAVE A GREAT WEEK <3 <3

Hey so I REALLY REALLY like TCGF MDZS AUs. That’s a lot of letters. I really like Heavenly Official’s Blessing AUs of Modao Zushi. But like...it’s always WWX is the Supreme and LWJ is the god! Listen. Listen. Look at Wei Wuxian. Now look at Xiè Lian. (Now this is an old spice commercial.) Do you see these boys? These boys that went against orthodoxy and what everyone TOLD them was right in an attempt to do what was ACTUALLY right, only to fail miserably and be stabbed a lot for it? And blamed horribly? And there are SO MANY parallels here between the two that can be drawn. Now, take a look at Hua Cheng and Lan Wangji. See these two, for whom literally no one matters other than their soulmate? (Okay FINE and their soulmate’s kid but if gege had a kid you know San Lang would love it) Yeah. SO.
Wei Wuxian ascends instead of being ripped apart by his corpses when he destroys the Stygian Tiger Seal (also he manages to fully destroy it). He is then thrown out of Heaven because, you know...he just. Disagrees with basically everything about how it’s run and gets kicked out with a power binding shackle, but jokes on them he hasn’t used spiritual energy in years! ((Alternatively, he ascends after being thrown in the burial mounds and escaping, that being his heavenly calamity ((because I feel like it can be a situation and not just a monster to fight??)) to overcome, and he just. Plonks himself right the fuck back out of the heavens because FUCK YOU that he is going to stay out of the war! And then ascends a second time with the destruction of the seal, only he is even madder that time and literally fights the god emperor and gets kicked a second time? Depends on how much you want to mirror TCGF)) Once kicked out of Heaven he wanders with a donkey and a new flute (because JC has Chenqing) doing his best to help the common people and doing scut work. There was no AYuan or he died in the siege, sorry I don’t make the rules. Actually I couldn’t figure out how to save him in this.
Meanwhile LWJ is whipped after trying to protect Wei Ying, because either he wasn’t a god yet or no one knew he was a god, and dies from it, because with no AYuan to live for, why should he? He dies so full of anger and resentment his spirit stays, despite the soul soothing spells cultivators go through in childhood. His soul/ghost fire wanders, gathering strength as he hears rumors of a wanderer with a donkey and a flute, who helps the common people as best he can. He keeps hearing snippets of a special song...
He gains more power, and starts punishing the cultivators responsible for Wei Ying’s death. Innocents are safe, but no others. A certain Jin is said to have died stuttering, ‘what is black and what is white? What is wrong what is right?’ (Or whatever that quote is) He needs to become stronger so he can find the wanderer. He starts fighting other spirits, gradually making his way to mount tonglu (however that’s spelt). He enters, and thirteen (or sixteen) years pass. He escapes, and there is a new devastation.
More time passes, WWX just traveling the world with his donkey. LWJ becomes ever more impressive, but a bit of an anomaly. (I don’t have a good ghost name here, come up with one, or like. The light bringing calamity? Because he tends to shine light on corrupt cultivators and then...violently kill them? Maybe he didn’t have huanggunjun as a title in life?)(I mean, Hua Cheng had a terrifying reputation but like...other than fighting some gods we never really saw him do anything super bad? And those were jerk gods anyway?)(maybe LWJ ALSO fights gods, especially ones he hears disrespect WWX?) LWJ figures out that yes, the wanderer is WWX and that he became a god was was kicked out, but doesn’t remember a lot of what happened to him in life (sort of like Xiè Lian!)
And then...*waves hand* TCGF plot happens but it’s MDZS? Maybe the god emperor is JGS? Ling Wen is Meng Yao? No tragic beefleaf side story? He Xuan is Nie Huaisang? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Alter as you see fit, I mean if JGS is the god emperor then maybe sect leader Jin was like his patsy? I dunno. I feel like WWX is not gonna have the relation with the emperor that Xiè Lian did, but neither would LWJ if he was the god.
I am too tired to think of more but if I do, I’ll part two this. Uh. TCGF wangxian is gonna be the tag.

Gege square the fuck up i ain't scared to fight a 20 something mangka artist- what the fuck is happening.
So not only did Mrs "what ypur type women" show up she basically exampled. It rare out side of japan for their to be Curses. Because it is basically a super power japan only has it won't be long before all war break out over it. To do whatever special shit she said you gotta be born in japan.
And to that i say- WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!?
Ice dude was just telling Sukana welcome back. Now he like i gotta kill Yuji and im like Sukana is a bitter hoe and would never give up toturing yuji for shit- expect for megumi
Speaking of which are my 2 kid just bleeding the fuck out in the street still????? Why does it feel like the part in John Wick when he is exiled from assassination club shit. This is what this feels like the higher up are so fucking stupid. Even if the only reason gege put Gojo in a box is because he is overpowered and he hates the character he created. The higher up really believe they have enough man power to take down-
Who we just found out is the most evil shaman ever to exist. Taking over Gojo exs body. You've cut your fighting team down- megumi and nobara will not side with the higher up to kill yuuji out right. They fucked themselves. Yall don't have a lot of man power anyway! And if it rare for shaman to be outside of japan its not like you can readily call for back from other countries .
