it’s nothing it’s nothing… I JUST THINK IT’S FUNNY HOW while the peacock miraculous was broken gabriel didn’t touch it and despite expressing guilt about nathalie falling ill he still let HER be the one to use it whenever the peacock’s power was ‘needed’ for gabe’s plan that day. he never once offered to wear it in her place.
but the second the miraculous gets fixed? oh no nathalie is no longer necessary, turns out gabriel CAN wear the peacock miraculous now and he’s going to use it for the rest of the season in conjunction with the butterfly miraculous to make himself stronger.
and this is NOT salt, i actually love that this specific writing choice just further proves something about gabriel’s character; he may feel guilty about it afterward, but he will not hesitate to put his loved ones in harm’s way for his own personal gain.

the fact nathalie is terrified of the idea of adrien being alone in a room with his father is. terrifying to me as well. nathalie, who historically always gave gabriel the greatest benefit of the doubt, is afraid of what gabriel would do if left alone with his own son....... hello????

Writing Prompt: I thought I heard something about delicious pancakes...
TW: Mention of Poisoning
s5 AU can be crack or more serious with a comedic slant:
This was inspired by a conversation about the idea of Gabriel relying heavily on pseudoscience once Emilie was ill and actually accidentally poisoned her in an attempt to heal her, etc.
Nathalie has had enough and tracks down Ladybug and Chat Noir, telling them she fears for her life.
Nathalie: he's how he was when his wife first became ill and he poisoned her, he was so desperate to find anything that would work. His Internet purchases have gotten more concerning, I've tried to block some websites...and now he's deteriorating too. I'm afraid he's going to kill us both, maybe his son too.
Chat Noir: Huh?
Nathalie: He started making these pancakes every single day right after he was hit by Chat Noir's Cataclysm...and insisting we eat as a family. That man rarely ate dinner with his family before his wife...and after? His son had to make appointments weeks in advance. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I don't trust it.
Chat Noir: *starts tearing up*
Ladybug: under her breath I knew those pancakes were a crime against humanity.

actually, even ignoring the metaphor, those pancakes look... pretty bad. I don't think you should have been eating those for as long as you have, Adrien.

"You see, citizens of Paris, the world is like a pancake. Once you mix the ingredients together, you can't undo it. If you make blueberry pancakes, you can't just magically change them to banana pancakes. But if I, Hawk Moth, seize Ladybug and Cat Noir's miraculous,
