What happens when you die in the afterlife?

Before this episode I don’t think we seriously had a clue. I mean there was Angel’s whole line about “double death”, but obviously it was a joke.

Pentious getting into Heaven completely changes the game for a number of reasons. The obvious one is, of course, that sinners can be redeemed.

But that fact can be broadened to something much larger if we remember what Adam said. It was something along the lines of “the way they lived their lives determines how they spend their time after it”

This is kinda reaching, but it’s possible that when a soul dies again, their “new lifespan” is what’s counted in the evaluation of the goodness of someone’s life. Once he met Charlie, Pentious immediately underwent change and bettered himself, ultimately dying for a noble cause. The life that was “evaluated” was probably just the total of his time spent in hell, where he showed reasonable improvement.

This probably also means that winners can fall :)

I love how whenever ATLA recognizes Sokka is smart enough to solve a problem but it’d be too fast they just stick him in some kind of situation. Like he COULD’VE stopped jet from drowning a town so they tied him up and dumped him in a forest. He COULD’VE figured out what that spirits deal was so they lost him in the spirit world for 24 hours.
