thinking about my s10 mumbo headcanons again

him very obviously limping but being stubborn because "It'll get better, that's how respawn works" be he has to keep dying over and over just to get into his base, so the pain is semi permanent at this point

Scar noticing and forcibly gifting him one of his spare canes that he has since he has the same problem (although a lot more permanent), and Mumbo being all fumbly and dismissive because he doesn't do well with receiving gifts from anyone and just any kind gestures

But he soon realizes that he finally has something that reminds him of Scar, the same way he has Iskall's friendship bracelet, Grian's feather

He starts using it every day whenever he needs to walk

prompt: kyojuro's excited to welcome his little girl into the family, but he never expected the emotions to hit so hard.

note: i was so unsure how to name this and i spent like 30 mins thinking of the pairing😭 im supposed to be sleeping bc i have testing tomorrow but oh well🤷🏾‍♀️

kyojuro never even thought of getting married. well... he never really even thought about it until he met you,. but to him,marriage was it.

when you asked him about having kids that was the first time he ever thought about it. he didn't really care about carrying on the family name, he had a brother and just cared about being with you.

but he would never deny his wife, who gave him everything he ever asked for, this one thing that she asked for.

he was ecstatic when you came to him with the good news; you were pregnant. he didn’t mind taking care of you at all until you had the baby. whatever you asked for he got, no questions asked.

and when the day finally came to welcome their little bundle of joy into the world, and he saw her face, and he held her in his arms, he didn’t know how hard the moment would hit him. she looked so small compared to him and it choked him up.

before he knew it, tears streamed down his face despite his fond and loving smile.

“she looks just like you.” he sniffs. you smile back at him, grabbing his free hand and squeezing it firmly.

she made small whimpers and shifted a bit. her little nose twitched with the ragged breaths and she couldn’t sit still in his arms.

he looked back up at you now. “thank you.”

you scoffed and rolled your eyes with a small laugh.

“she’s a momma’s girl.” you winked at kyojuro. “think ill be the favorite.”

“well, you are my favorite.”

“ah, so she gets it from you?” he nodded. you laughed, kissing his hand before leaning against it. “i love you.”

“i love you more.”

Ever wondered what happened to the puppets stuck in the Wondrium Arena?

So did the Professor and his meat shield/bestie westie, Ryan. Instead of waiting for an answer, they planned to get the puppets out of there. They even argued with God over it, or rather the Professor did since Ryan was too mentally out-of-it from the absolute absurdity of this situation.

And what did God give to them in return for winning the argument? A bus. To drive to the Wondrium Arena with. ‘Cause what better way to rescue a bunch of dead puppets than crashing a bus into their purgatory?

#(don’t listen too closely though I’m a bad singer lol)#I tried to post this Sunday night but it didn’t go through #I had no idea he was going to do it I almost cried #not leverage #hozier #slept at our airbnb for like 4 hours #woke up for an hour until Cumbies would be open so I could get breakfast (5am)#and then drove over 2.5 hours to get back home in time to get prepared for work #I ended up teaching my two hour group and then working till twelve and taking the rest of the day off #I forgot my meds so I slept ten hours until 10 at night 💀#worth it #seeing him was a spiritual experience fr #and this was like SO spontaneous. like I cannot express enough how much I didn’t plan for this #also I literally got my tickets saturday when the show was sunday. thank u stubhub ur a true mvp #I knew my friends were going and were staying overnight and someone in my facebook group was selling tickets last minute and was like 👀👀👀#I’m not gonna go into how she decided to sell to someone else later that day when I had already made plans and made me cry but whatever #it worked out in the end

no thoughts head empty the oppressive stagnancy of legacy in ever after high dragging me round the block yet again

it's such a shame that we get so little explanation about the actual mechanics of destiny, which is the entire premise of the show, bc it's so juicy. like what power does destiny hold when you rip away milton's lies and centuries of assumptions and traditions. esp bc despite raven signing herself as the evil queen in the real storybook of legends, when the snow white fairytale actually happens in dragon games she's playing one of the seven dwarves and her mother has reprised her role. like how much of that was because of the characters' actions and how much was destiny pulling on old, familiar threads. keeps me up at night.

a lot of this is probably just like, plot holes and writer hot potato but i like making it that deep, that's half of the fun. my personal interpretation is that fate is a wild thing that desires repetition and they developed the system of fairytale legacy bloodlines to keep those repetitions predictable and contained, instead of wreaking havoc whenever and wherever they please.

which lends itself to some really juicy exploration of how legacy is a duty as much as it is a privilege, and how to be a princess or a witch or a hero or a dragon is to be the same thing in the end: the lamb destiny slaughters on the altar to sate the ever-ravenous narrative. to keep the flock safe. keep the unknown that prowls beyond the beaten path at bay. because if a there is always a mother who will be cruel, or a maiden who will fall into a sleep like death, or a child who will become a bird, isn’t it better to know who, and how, and when? isn’t better if it’s you, who has known your whole life that you must be eaten, be poisoned, be stripped of your humanity, rather than anybody else, who wasn’t raised to see it as an honour instead of a great and terrible injustice?

#ever after high #mine #remember when apple asked snow white for advice on yester day and she had nothing useful to say? bc all the problems in her life were #solved by a smile a friend and true love's kiss?#and apple got to experience being disappointed by the parent she placed on a pedestal for the first time ever? that was really fun #don't even get me started by how the class of classics are all called by the names of their roles that is sooooo fun and fucked up #the mantle of your legacy is so large and so heavy that it swallows you up entirely #ik it's for convenience's sake but simply imagine with me. surrendering your true name once your tale begins to bind to the retelling #more strongly. invite the eye of the narrative to fix on you. set destiny on its well-worn tracks and drive it smoothly #to happily ever after #i love the idea of the retellings being ritualistic to an extent. there is so much you could do w destiny #how destiny is a crutch too that prevents u fr growing as a person bc there is nothing life can start that u haven't already seen finished
