hi!!! i just wanted to ask about the brushes you use & if you could provide them? if not that's completely fine ^^ i love ur art sm
hiiii tysm!! <333
i use a copy of sai 1 secondhand from my friend so i've got their custom brushes on there but the one i'm currently using is a reproduction of xamag's crayon brush. the settings look like this:
i also used to use a version of the pencil tool that i fiddled with to get a chisel-tip pen:
i switched over at the start of last year after a holiday exchange gift for a friend reminded me how much i love grit and texture and it has subsequently led to me getting looser and less finnicky abt my lines. i do miss the square edges tho so maybe more experimentation is in order
if you plan to use the crayon brush i absolutely recommend selecting large areas and going over them with as continuous of a stroke as you can get with the brush at a larger size for you to really get the texture/specks of negative space that makes it so visually delicious. unfortunately the smaller you go the more that same texture will work against you so be forewarned
otherwise thatse it and thank you once again for the compliment! it makes me so happy to get messages like this abt my art 💖💞💗mwah mwah

EXCUSE ME MA'AM. MA'AM. DROP THE MADOKA STEP MOM OF THE CLARA DOLLS MA'AM. I MAY DIE.
(also maybe some madoka magica fic rec 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 but who am I to say)
omg this was so long ago..... mea culpa anon
anyway step-momdoka fic is this: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37645735/chapters/94265512 (it's an anthology fic, so the ones following the storyline are those labelled "familiarity")
and madomagi top seven fics that make me lose control in no particular order:
The Witching Hour (70K words) - homura starts a podcast. her odds for success, shockingly, skyrocket
Colours Fading (25K words) - madomagi soulmate au oneshot + the sequel fic exploring timeline 28, where the holy quintet are all soulmates (bonus fic rec the soulmate timeline, inspired by timeline 28 and currently ongoing)
Five Times Sburb Almost Broke Sakura Kyouko (And One Time She Helped Break It) (21K words) - homestuck au if that's your jam. tbh just so good even if it isn't, madoka's classpect reveal was sick as hell
Garden of Earthly Delights (72K words) - canon-compliant daemon au
The Garden of My Heart (300K words) - post-rebellion duology ft. akemi homura's profound unkindness to herself and the consequences of giving a 14-yo lesbian the power to reshape the world
Impossible Colours (1K words) - homura is red/green colourblind
A Red Umbrella (8K words) - homura is really, really dense (the author has another fic called "but i don't want to be a chuunibyo" wherein post-rebellion madoka is constantly assailed by weird cosplayers who think she's god which is such a fun premise but has not updated in years so i didn't rec it in full)

It is pretty crazy to me that Revue Starlight The Movie (2021) is one of the highest ranking movies of the 2020s so far on Letterboxd, by average user rating. There are only a handful of other animated films before it, namely a bunch of AoT movies, the Gintama movie, and Spiderverse 2, and most of the other movies before it are... movies by insanely big musicians like Tswift. Like it's so jarring to look at this
and see fucking. Revue Starlight on there among this pool of movies. This list, obviously, means nothing in the big picture, but it does make me smile a bit. Like, not many Letterboxd users have seen the movie, but those that have have rated it so highly that it's sitting on the spot before Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All At Once. This movie is so undeniably good that literally everyone who is into Revue Starlight (and even those who are not) think it goes so hard that it deserves this spot
