Back in May of 1991 (the 12th to be precise): Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman signing Good Omens books at Forbidden Planet.

Neil’s post.
Original poster for the event:

The thing about Forbidden Planet and Café München(which was not strictly a coffee spot as one might assume), is that the former is no longer where it originally was for the signing and the latter ceased to exist.
This fact led me to this wonderful article about the Café. Where you can see some of it on video and even @neil-gaiman’s first TV interview discussing Sandman.

There’s something uniquely captivating to stories about people living like vermin in the vents and shafts of some massive living world-machine. Its origins and purpose beyond their understanding. Constantly hunted like parasitic bacteria by its immune system.

A maquette of the invisible id monster from Forbidden Planet (1956).

The animated monster as it appeared in the film, lit up by energy from a forcefield fence and ray guns.
