bought the SIX novelisations for fever ~inspo~ and they're both trash but I'm kinda obsessed with this description of Bear

went on twitter and actually i think some ppl are slightly misunderstanding what matakara meant when he accused arajin of lying. like...it's true, arajin never lied to matakara about wanting to fight in the present, so it would be unreasonable to call him out on that specifically. but like

with the way the emphasis is placed on arajin's strength the whole argument, plus the cut to the flashback, matakara was asking if a) arajin's strength/bravery, and b) the promise made to him in the past, the foundation of their entire childhood friendship, were a lie. which, y'know, the promise wasn't, arajin definitely meant it at the time. but arajin doesn't want to admit that or outright deny it, so he deflects by saying it's not true anymore.

to me the focus of the argument was arajin forcing matakara to see him as he sees himself (ie. as a weak, selfish coward), shattering matakara's delusional idea of him in the process. arajin using senya to become strong isn't an inherently malicious lie, and i honestly don't think matakara thinks that either. to matakara the 'lie' is both the version of arajin he made up and the genuine things arajin told him in the past.

Okay, I love the TOCUHSTARVED demo. I played it through multiple times. But damn the MC drives me nuts!

Doubly annoying when the Unnamed does it compared to the other two origins.

Outline I like (especially for shorter works)

Note: I learned this in film class (which is why it says "defines the movie" at the top, but I've also had success using it for non-film writing. It's basically a three-act structure, but I find for non-novels it's easier to work with than Save The Cat, for example.

Another note: Unraveling The Map is rarely a whole scene in and of itself in my personal experience - I usually use it to create an opening image that leads into the Launch Point, which I make the first scene

Unraveling The Map - Do you have an opening scene that defines the movie?

The Launch Point - Where are we, and who are we with?

The First Leg - What’s a normal day look like in this world?

Change Course - What sets our characters off on their journey from normalcy?

The Foot of the Mountain - Okay, we’re going on this journey together. (choosing the direction for solving the problem)

Climbing The Side - It starts hard, but you get used to the problems as you go.

Through The Cave - Do you have a B story? Set that story off on its own now too.

Reassess the Problem - You’re at the middle. Is there another way to get it done?

Try and Fail - Things begin to fall apart, can they handle it?

The Fall - The worst thing happens, something so bad you don’t think you can get up.

The Hidden Clue - What do your characters discover about themselves/the problem that they never saw before?

Race To the Finish - They’re up and running no matter what

The Treasure Chest - Did they get what they came for?

Where We Go From Here - Show us the world in a new light, hint what’s next.

currently craving the before bed makeouts, when we’ve both had a long day. The ones that start as a peck, as a hand caressing her face, gentle eyes staring back at eachother. Where a peck turns into slow kisses from her cheek to her lips, locking them just to savor the softness.

The way she follows me as I begin to lean back, pulling my face back in for another kiss, deep exhales as that familiar warm fuzzy feeling washes over us. The way just the smell of her eases the days anxieties, a hand pressed against my cheek reminding me I am home. I want the warmth to spread thru my body as the loving kisses turn frantic, pushing me back as she leans above me. Holding my jaw as she sucks in my bottom lip, softly dragging her teeth as she pulls back before catching my lips back into another kiss.

I’m craving the messiness, tongues slipping against eachother, desperately passionate kisses as we pull our bodies closer. Salvia wetting our cheeks and fingers tangled in each others hair as we melt into each other. The comforting pressure as she rolls over more, until she is onto of me. I want the carelessness, the way nothing else matters. Just a deep want for each other, that’s all that matters. Tasting, smelling, feeling one another; that’s all that matters. The closeness is all that matters. Saying I missed you, I need you without saying a word. Making out until you’re both finally tired, all the stress flooded out of your mind. I just want to make out with her until were a tired, tangled knot. To feel that calmness wash over my body as she rest her head on my chest, feeling the change in her breathing as she drifts off to sleep. Playing with her hair and planting kisses on the top of her head before resting my own on hers. She always smells so good, this scent I cannot describe, but my god does it smell like home. Like love, like safeness.

Fluttering eyes as I fall asleep listening to her little snores, no better way to end a day.

HC that Dick spent most of his early years just following Bruce wherever he went- like he goes on all business trips to foreign countries and does his schoolwork (he’s homeschooled/private tutoring til at least high school) in Bruce’s office. He’s occasionally seen doing increasingly ridiculous stunts in the background of Bruce’s zoom calls. One time B just left the room and put a 10 year old Dick in charge for the rest of the meeting. The kid closed a business deal, declared a corporate wide policy for paid birthdays off and organized a bring your dog to work day. When meetings become too boring B puts himself on mute and plays catch with Dick until someone actually has something worth saying. And everyone remembers but it’s taboo to bring up that time Bruce got (accidentally) blasted in the face with a football while discussing budget cuts

Got suddenly struck by the random thought of dang I love my tattoos.

Sometimes seeing the ink bracelet just makes me happy. Like, it's been around my wrist long enough it's stopped being a fresh new novelty, but every now and then I still notice it and it's just such a nice feeling to happen.
