I’ve been on AO3 since 2016 reading Jonerys and I appreciate all the Jonerys writers who still contribute to the fandom! Sorry this is late I just saw this 😭 life’s getting a little hectic now that schools started for me.

now that school has started again i have noticed.... it's not working!!!! i still miss people while i'm doing schoolwork!!!! but yes i did decorate my dorm, i hung about 70 pictures on one wall and some kpop posters on another. it helped it feel cozy and more like home heh

i’m looking forward to having some more free time at some point 😭 hopefully i’ll have more time to do sewing and stuff i haven’t gotten to in ages 🤞 & i’m really gonna try and continue my mandatory happiness mindset!!! (<- read abt it in laura jane grace’s book it’s like. maybe everything sucks but u can often choose to look at things in a positive light it’s really really helped me!! like. i can go into things w a positive mindset instead of a miserable one and control that at least yk?)
i’m currently out of town & it’s around the 30s. not bad wish it was snowing but i’ll take what i can get, i can wear my $10 80s windbreaker which i’m happy about!! and if i could be anywhere i’d want to be somewhere with snow but honestly? i’m quite content where i am i love doing big family christmas together.
and. i will be honest as much as i try to seek out new stuff to read/watch/listen to. i love rewatching &c. it’s rly nice and comfortable yk? i’m restarting how to train your dragon actually which is. so lovely <3 and i just did my semiannual big hero 6 watch which was delightful

it is currently cold as balls here (-11) and sunny today but its been snowing the last few days so we got like. two feet of snow. which i DO LIKE. i love snow even if its a little functionally irritating. idk where i would be if i could be anywhere rn. itd be nice to see my halifax friends again but itd also be nice to be [where my boyfriend lives] so. yknow. hard choice
and i think it kinda varies actually! im def better at reconsuming whatever media kind but i think i reread books a LOT less often and i try to do the same w movies. but i hardly EVER listen to new music and shows r id say a 50/50? i started derry girls today tho its fantastic

I just finished watching a movie with my mum and my sister and I was going to send you an ask when I saw that you beat me to it.
My week was okay! I haven't been doing much, still have a bunch of work to do for school and yet it's the last thing I think about lol. Today I discovered that a stray female cat had brough her small baby kittens and hid them in our yard!!! We suspect that our cat might be the father because he seems quite protective of them. They're still feeding from their mum and everything, but when they grow a bit more we'll have to find them a home.
I'm meeting up with a friend I haven't seen in a while this week, so I'm excited about that. I haven't eaten anything that special yet, but I'm hoping that we'll get korean food when we see each other.
I'm so glad that you had fun with your friends and that the weather is sunny!!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and manifesting a yoonkook pc your way!
And as for song recommendations, I'm actually quite slow with discovering and listening to new music, so I usually listen to a lot of the same for a while. I've been listening to Omar Apollo's album Ivory a lot. And recently I listened to Steve Lacy's Gemini Rights finally, although I still can't decide if I quite like it. I hope that I'll be able to listen to some more new music when I'm on my summer break and I'll definitely be coming to you for recommendations then.

I also loved your response to my previous ask. We do have such a vast heritage of queer people who have come before us and that’s a lovely thing to remember when things get difficult…like when anonymous people keep sending slurs to my friends.

my show was STUNNING it's hard to put into words. I spent the whole evening clowning like "what if she announced speak now tv 🤡 she won't but what if 👀" and then she DID I could have died right there. I was really happy about Sparks Fly and Teardrops on my Guitar as surprise songs because I was manifesting a speak now/debut combo for my show. from the main set my fave was Marjorie, it's such a gorgeous song anyway and then hearing it live, with her grandmother's voice, in a stadium with the phone lights... it gave me chills. fingers crossed for international dates soon 🤞 I'm really hoping she's just about done with them and she's just waiting to get all her ducks in a row before she announces them
it's definitely hard being queer online, especially these days. I feel so grateful for my queer friends on here and I just want all of us to feel safe and have fun

I'm going to my first concert since 2018, I'm taking a week off, and I'm gonna try and get my first tattoo 🤞🤞🤞 hoping that the warm weather will make me feel better and the allergies won't be too bad, that'll I'll get more writing and submissions done and be out of the house more. I'm manifesting it rn.

If they don't do anything w/ Jacob Hopkins in the remaining episodes we have left (which, ya, seems pretty likely lol) I wonder if his whole character was a remnant of the original plan for a full season 3, like the whole theoretical episodes/arcs that took place in the human realm. And we would had at least one episode mostly or even fully focusing on Belos finding him and...doing whatever manipulative or possession thing he would plan idk. I'm just very curious of not only what was og outline for the show's final season as a whole, but what obstacles the kids and Camilla would had to face during their time stuff in the human realm.
oh this is an interesting take! ive been wondering a bit abt the original plans for season 3 as well, and what might have happened if the owl house crew had had another season, or even a couple more seasons, to flesh out what was going to happen. to me it feels like the kind of show that should have been really epic and pretty long running, it feels like it's been cut off at the knees a bit......... but at least they have been given enough notice to write a proper conclusion to it, which is something, rather than the cancellation happening with no warning.
i think you're right that jacob would have played a bigger role in season 3 if it had been a full season. i can imagine him being kind of a "joke" antagonist, a bit like he was in season 2, getting used as a way to raise the stakes of plots but without being too much of an actual threat, maybe. im thinking a kind of denzel crocker from the fairly odd parents type of situation lol, where he's obsessed with witch hunting to an extent that seems absolutely ridiculous to anyone else, and is constantly trying and failing to catch the kids in the act of doing something magic related, making himself seem like a fool in the process.
it would have been interesting to get philip introduced to him, and to maybe see him make the change from being a joke villain to a scary villain (albeit just by virtue of being the body philip is possessing lol but still). i think philip would have found jacob intriguing, due to the possible family connection there, and also due to jacob being an example of a modern human still fixated on witch hunting. the kind of conspiracy theory stuff jacob talks about reminds me a lot of the weird shit i read abt witches in king james's demonologie, it's a modern manifestation of the same kind of mindset.
there is the fact that we only see philip possessing dead things and hunter, who is arguably undead due to being a grimwalker... it's possible that possessing living humans isn't something that philip is capable of. however i can imagine philip would have found other possible ways to control/manipulate jacob, or at least guide his reactions. he wouldn't have been able to confront jacob directly due to being stuck in his goop monster form, but he may have been able to find ways to use him indirectly. jacob is kind of pathetic, but i don't doubt that philip would have found some use for him...
just in general it makes me sad thinking about all of the things we missed out on because of the show being cut short. there were so many little moments in "thanks to them" where i was watching and thinking like "wow, this should have been a whole episode in itself"... it would have been interesting to see luz try to reintegrate with human school and society after spending so long away from it.
im also sad that we haven't gotten more wittebane lore, although i don't want to speak too soon on that because there are still 2 episodes left... i know they probably won't be a huge focus, but i hope we at least get to see a properly animated backstory sequence and to see caleb and evelyn, and philip as a young kid too. fingers crossed we get something like that 🤞
