Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Theory
Tifa glitching in front of Cloud and then Sephiroth immediately saying Jenova can create realistic hallucinations of people you hate and love…
The glitches throughout the games aren’t Cloud having a moment. It’s Cloud almost breaking out of Jenova’s hallucinations.

Do you have any thoughts on Adel?
Thanks for the ask! I honestly can't think of anything about her actual character/personality that I feel is interesting enough to share. She's not developed or characterized like Edea and Ultimecia. That being said, Adel seems to be the single most important character when you think about the politics of FF8. From what lore I'm familiar with, she starts the most devastating war in the history of the world, destroys Trabia, invades Galbadia, and was a ruthless autocrat. I don't think it's much of a stretch to say she's Sorceress Hitler?? I mean, she even employs an evil scientist, Odine, who is still employed in Laguna's government. And it seems like that's only because Odine is too useful to imprison or execute. So basically Operation Paperclip? I know, I'm a perfect example of Godwin's Law in this answer, lol. Still, I do think the comparison is fair in this case. Also the power vacuum left behind after she dies is not too far off from The Cold War.
I just realized though, one other interesting thing is her desire to find a successor. It's never clarified if Sorceresses feel a compulsion to do this, but I personally think they do. It would explain why Ultimecia went back to the past for Edea, and it would also explain why Adel is so desperate to find a successor. The fact that she sends much needed soldiers in the middle of a war, makes it clear it's her top priority. So my theory is a Sorceress is in agony if they don't find someone to pass on their powers to. Though for Adel unlike Ultimecia or Edea, there's the extra element of her wanting to find someone to rule her empire after she dies. Of course a little girl like Ellone is perfect, since she could mould her. Pretty creepy, glad Laguna saved poor Ellone!
Anyway, thanks again for the ask! This was fun to spitball about! :)

FFVII Remake P2 : theory dump
Time to type up some FFVII remake theories and get everything wrong (but that’s part of the fun).
SPOILERS ahead for FFVII/FFVII Remake/INTERmission DLC/Crisis Core
Many in the fandom have theorised that Zack & Cloud (at the end of FFVII remake) are in an alternate timeline, because the Stamp dog shown on the bag of crisps is a different breed than the majority of Stamp artwork shown throughout the rest of the game. My alternative take on this is that the different Stamp design could be an ‘older’ version of Stamp - after all, the bag was flying around the desert outside of Midgar, like an old piece of trash.
So instead of being in an alternate timeline they are in the past of Remake!Cloud (similar to the Original!Cloud’s timeline, only unlike the original, Zack is now alive). Zack supports a comatose-like Cloud back to Midgar.
Zack tries to visit Aerith, as in the cutscene at the end of Intermission DLC, but there is no Aerith in the church. Zack & Cloud hideout in the slums, with Cloud still in a comatose state, and he has strange visions of the future (as does Cloud himself in the main FFVII remake) including himself carrying the Bustersword. The pair are forcibly split apart (possibly due to Shinra/Turks/Whispers?), and Cloud ends up with the sword (Cloud takes it, or is given it by Zack). Zack is captured by Shinra, and as Cloud can’t re-unite with Zack, he ends up wandering the slums, eventually ending up at the train station. Cloud is then found by Tifa, and the plot resumes as it was in the original FFVII and the remake - Jenova manipulates Cloud’s memories into giving him a false persona of a first class soldier, and he then goes on to join Avalanche for their Bombing mission.
Zack ends up at Shinra HQ and is re-captured/imprisoned/experimented on by Hojo (do the Whispers have any power, or are events now free to flow?). Zack is tested on in the lower floors of Deepground, where he meets the other members, and a possessed Sonon (who is eventually freed from his possession). Parallel in time to the main party and their fight with Sephiroth, Zack and Sonon try to escape Shinra, but the Whispers prevent the pair from leaving Midgar (as shown when Rufus Shinra is within HQ, looking out at the swirling Whispers which almost form a ‘dome’ around the building). The Whispers are still trying to keep the events on track, despite Destiny having been defeated. They are trying to prevent both Sonon and Zack from joining the main party, though they are eventually able to escape, for a future reunion on their unknown journey...
Quickfire theory time:
- At some point in the game, Zack eventually meets up with Tseng (who is reluctant to give him the letters from Aerith due to his own personal feelings)
- Zack is ‘re-united’ with Genesis (in Deepground?)
- Zack’s original ‘fate’ was altered - but by who? Was it Aerith or Sephiroth who changed time? Or was it accidental? I think it was Aerith, who, in sensing that Sephiroth was trying to alter history, tried also to alter it in a way that may be able to make a positive change.
That’s all I got. My brain is tired. Also, my guess is that part 2 will be released in 2024/2025.

So about that part in Ever Crisis where Sephiroth tries to call Genesis, I used Google Translate to try and see the actual translation of the original Japanese script. "頼む・・・・・・出てくれ•"
Google Translate translates it as "Please...please come out."
I looked up 頼む(tanomu) and it translates as "to ask; to beg; to request" and 出てくれ(dete kure) translates to "to appear or to come out."
Is Sephiroth literally begging for Genesis to reveal himself?
Aaaa!! Yes, he is! I actually hadn’t translated this bit yet, but yes that phrase is very…pleading.
"頼む・・・・・・出てくれ•"
“Please…please come forth…”
The second part of the phrase does indeed mean to “come forth, reveal oneself.” Sephiroth is pleading for Genesis to appear out of…wherever he is. The tone is desperate.
So yes, it works in context with the phone-call. Sephiroth wants Genesis to show up on the other end.
Yet knowing the deeper context of the current events, and Genesis’ desertion, it is almost like Sephiroth is saying,
“Please…please come back…”
He is terrified for Genesis. This is one of the few times I have seen Sephiroth express genuine anxiety and desperation as an adult.

I noticed something in the new FF7 Rebirth trailer
Sephiroth reveals the nature of Jenova and her ability but why?
Sephiroth never even revealed Jenova like this in the OG as a part of his plan, so why is he doing this? Isn't revealing her nature the last thing Sephiroth wanted to do?
Here's what I think is happening, Sephiroth is being forced to work against Cloud. He traveled back in time, still tethered to Jenova, hoping to stop her and save the planet from whatever destiny it's tethered to (yet it also has consequences as we see in the alternative timeline)
Sephiroth is doing this of his own will
Yet he's still shackled to Jenova, so he needs Cloud's help in order to break free from her, but Jenova is taking advantage of Cloud's shattered mental state and false persona, so it's like a godly game of tug a war.
I think the Sephiroth who's manipulating Cloud and trying to convince him that Tifa isn't real is the past version of him from the OG, while the real Sephiroth, the one who we've been following all along, is trying to break free from destiny's grasp, stop Jenova and save the planet.
I could be wrong, and this is just a retelling of the OG, but I don't buy that one bit, especially when both the developers and part of the story say otherwise. Anyways, that's what I grabbed from this scene.

My version of “the swing” featuring Celes, Setzer, and Locke in the shadows. 🤫 Original version (in the last image of this post) by French painter Jean Honore Fragonard (Google it if you want to learn about erotic symbolism in fine art)
what I like best about my version is how Setzer is exactly 1 second away from being beaned in the head by that BOOT 👢 This image originally appeared in the FF6 2024 calendar.
Some of you may be asking, will this be available as a print? The answer is probably no. I have no experience in making and selling prints and I know that learning to make perfect prints at home is a long and involved process. But I thank you for asking anyway ♥️

Final Fantasy: Ever Crisis Theory
This game is going to be interesting af. We all thought it was going to be a straightforward mobile adaption of the games we already knew from the final fantasy VII timeline (like Advent Children, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus etc) with nothing new being added. But then Square dropped that we were getting new original stories canon to the lore. The biggest one being a story centered around teen Sephiroth.
Tumblr media
This was a pleasant surprise, mostly because this time period of Sephiroth’s life is a mystery. We know he eventually becomes a hero revered by Shinra and the people of Midgar, and we do get brief references to things he did that made him be viewed that way, but we have never actually gotten a full fleshed-out background story about those actions and events. And my theory, based on one very important moment in the Ever Crisis trailer, is that we are going to get the story behind how Sephiroth came to wield his now infamous and iconic sword; Masamune.
Tumblr media
In the trailer for Ever Crisis, we are shown a cutscene where an adult Sephiroth statics into a younger Sephiroth, who wields an unknown sword instead of Masamune. Throughout Final Fantasy VII’s lore, we are never told how Sephiroth got Masamune, only that it is his main and most prized weapon. Perhaps Masamune was given to him as a reward for passing a final test of sorts (when has Shinra ever stopped testing Sephiroth tho lets be real) or maybe Sephiroth took the sword from it’s original owner in battle. More simply put, Masamune feels like a sword that was earned, not given. And while both theories seem highly plausible, I prefer the latter theory more, as it has a greater symbolic meaning behind it.
The other sword we see in that scene is probably a sword Shinra gives to Soldiers in training. A standard sword essentially. It could be a sword made specifically for Sephiroth, but based on the Shinra logo on it I don’t find that theory very compelling.
A story about teen Sephiroth receiving his most iconic and feared weapon is a perfect and honestly long overdue story choice. It will be interesting to see what characters will be involved; will Angeal and Genesis make a cameo appearance? Will Hojo? A story like this has many possibilities considering this time period has the least amount of information attached to it. It could honestly be a whole video game on it's own. I am very eager to see what direction they decide to go with Ever Crisis.

A really out of pocket thought occurred to me while trying to wake up for work, ahead of Fit’s stream today.
FitMC is a Kingdom Hearts fan.
He often has different tracks from the first two games playing in the background of his streams. This has been really consistent since the start of the QSMP, alongside the Final Fantasy X OST.
Both games have strong themes tied to memories, dreams, and otherworldly powers manipulating reality and the people in it.
I believe he’s mentioned KH2 as being one of his faves, and really liking the character Roxas. A character who you start that game with, enjoying the last 7 days of his summer vacation with his friends in a place called Twilight Town.
And who — if you’ll allow for slight, extremely simplified spoilers for an 18 year old game (ignore any unrelated internal high pitched screaming you can hear in the distance, I just feel really old all of a sudden) — discovers the entire world he lives isn’t real, that everything and (almost) everyone present is simulated, and that he is considered a means to an end to regain the data needed to restore someone else’s existence.
Everybody’s favourite Federation Janitor is on the island on a mission, under the guise of being on vacation. He has received reminders, twice, in the form of a clock delivered by a Code Entity that his time is running out. He is here to recover all of the player data. And he has stated that everyone else on the Island would hate him if they knew the real reason why he was really there.
Adding to that: Fit’s memory has been glitching on him recently, key details forgotten - such as the name of the Contractor who originally sent him to Quesadilla Island. Visual glitches occur on screen and Fit winces with the onset of headaches. Three times now this has led to him preparing to enter a deep sleep, with the hopes of recovering those memories. That third time may be tonight.
"A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory. A far-off memory that's like a scattered dream. I want to line the pieces up—yours and mine." — Kingdom Hearts II
I think that we are about to witness the end of FitMC’s “vacation” on Quesadilla Island. And we’re going to get a peek behind the curtain at what’s coming for the server in the new year.
"I've been having these weird thoughts lately.. Like… is any of this for real, or not?" — Kingdom Hearts

Spoiler thoughts on Medicine Girl
So I have been thinking a lot about Kihel's presence in the game lately. Thoughts under the cut.
My opinion is that we see suspiciously much of her for it to be just a random thing, throughout the story unfolding.
The first time we ever see her on screen, she's in Kostnice, in the Dhalmekian Republic, peddling medicines on the streets, and she approaches Jill. We see Jill stops and summarily refuses her with a sorry, and then Kihel immediately leaves, disappointed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second time we see her, she's on The Crystal Road, walking towards the Crystalline Dominion. She sees Joshua is hurting and quickly goes to his side to offer him a tonic. Joshua treats her warmly, thanking her and telling her that he'll be fine, and that she should save her medicines for those who truly need them. She replies: "Oh, if you're sure." and then leaves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The third time we see her, she's in the Sanbrequois camp near the Crystalline Dominion, trying to sell her salves and potions to a random soldier, who shouts at her before we move to Dion's tent, so she is in the vicinity of where Dion and Joshua meet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 4th time we see her is when she saves Dion in Twinside, and takes him to the slums to patch him up. This is also the first time she isn't refused her healing, since Dion is KO lol.
(Not going to screenshot this since this scene is the longest)
She quickly brings him fresh water and they have a nice heartfelt moment before Dion leaves. He's very grateful for her help and she wants to see him again. When he exits her abode, a gust of wind ruffles his hair and he looks up at the moon, remarking how he owes Joshua his wings.
I think it's very interesting how she interacts with Jill, Joshua and Dion in particular, and how her interactions with each of them become more meaningful every time.
How is she such a proficient healer at such a young age? How does she find clean, drinkable water in the slums? How come she's seemingly so attracted to Dominants, that she's able to find them repeatedly?
I have a nagging feeling that she's tied to Leviathan, maybe even is Leviathan's Dominant who has yet to awaken, because of her connection to water and her healing prowess.
And I think the main characters she interacts with are important, if we are to see future content for the game. I believe Jill to a lesser extent, but in particular Joshua and Dion will be tied into it. Why them two? Because Kihel is in their vicinity twice, if we add her presence in the military camp.
This might be a huge reach, btw, and I could just be overthinking it, but it is very interesting to me to think about.
Edit: Well things just got a lot more interesting:
