I really don’t know why they made it so his skin changes and I fear for the worst on their reasoning. Hopefully it’s something artistic like a reference to something or maybe how his name is italian and they wanted to put in how some italians have darker skin than others or something like that and not something racist, god knows this game is getting run through the mud with enough controversies

hate to break it to you but its probably racism, even if its not done on purpose design choices are often subjected to the creators internal thoughts. Even if its an artistic choice its still a reflection on the designer and how they view dark skin

even just looking at the three characters with noticable darker skin you can note their designs are more sexualised[which surprise is racism] than the others, and also the tones of their skin in general are well, to put it in artist terms its “ashy” which we use to refer to a faux black skintone, they want you to know this character has dark skin but they don’t want to actually make them black or brown

You can notice immediately the unedited sprite appears washed out and barely dark at all, he’s like this ashy pink tone, but in game next to the other characters he is noticably darker. If i’d had the time I would of edited his nose and hair, and his clothes as well, but it was something I did on a whim for myself and not a serious project

you can immediately tell the artist have absolutely no idea how to draw or colour  a black or brown person. And I’m not saying I’m an expert on it, i’ve only started improving on that front myself over the past few years. But if a self taught work from home artist can colour better than a professional can, you gotta ask yourself what the problem is

well dañarte is a certified Little Bitch, however part of his Thing is that hes pretending to Not be a Little Bitch, so i think it's all based on the circumstance of who is around and all that. if it's in public, he will probably go the route of pretending that he's above a Petty, childish dispute 😌 but inside he IS planning revenge and also trying to blow them up with his mind. and then if he's not trying to mask his bitch boy powers he's def being snarky and passive aggressive and maybe also just straight up rude right back. he will NOT be the bigger person!!! and he does not care what people think about him.

Used To Strongly Dislike. i was a hater but i dont know that i ever really FULLY hated him. but i def disliked him for a while at first lol

and in terms of twst there are at least four characters this could be describing but i have to do leona bc ive had the most character development with my feelings about him kljsdklfjdsklfjklsdj

he really is so smart and perceptive. it's super interesting when i go back and reread stories and how he's shown to either directly or maybe heavily implied to know/suspect something that's going on far before most of the other characters do. he doesnt always. say anything about it to people 🧍 JKFLSDJFKLDS but it IS cool how you can see he's like, paying attention. he's got experience!

it's kinda sweet when he actually does, sometimes, show his care for the younger students. like in rook's lab coat story when epel accidentally bumps into him, and the npc talking to rook is like OH GOD!!! but rooks like nono, it's okay, leona knows not to just pick a fight with a random student for no reason. <- me calling it sweet when leona doesnt bitch at someone i guess LOL but!!! jfkdsjflds it is. and then in book 6 at the start when everyones getting ROBOT KIDNAPPED, this goes hand in hand with my first point - leona recognized the charon soldiers, clocked that they were dangerous, fighting was futile and risky, and just surrendered himself and told ruggie to not start a fight and to just look after the dorm while he was gone, if he ever came back. i was sooooo grumpy at that scene for so long bc of how COOL he was and i did not like admitting leona was being cool ever LOL JFKLSJDFKLDSJLJ but he was 😔 ive come to terms with it. AND in the jpn server's halloween event playful land, [mild beginning of event spoilers to anyone reading this i guess lol] the fact that he showed up late at night to bring everyone back so they wouldnt get in themselves trouble.... like he SAID it's bc he just didnt wanna get blamed for it later, but like, iirc he aimed his lecture at the ENTIRE GROUP, not just jack who he's dorm responsible for. he showed up early morning/middle of the night to do it too, when hes the king of I Love Sleeping. he probably coulda sent ruggie to do it but it was his turn to be in the event so he came and did it himself;;; dskfjdlsjfk listen i think leona is pretty straightforward and a bitch but i do think he still has some sense of care for people even though he'd rather die than admit it KFJSDKLFJSELJ
