Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest REWRITTEN

I recently decided to replay Conquest after years of not even thinking about it, and I've been having a lot of fun! It's my first time playing on Classic/Permadeath, so learning the intricacies of the system for the first time is really fun!

Only thing is that, now as someone aiming for a Creative Writing bachelors and having experience editing... wow the story is not written well. Conquest has its moments, but there is a LOT of missed potential.

But that's the key word here: Missed Potential. For Conquest's story, it had the chance to be really good. The bedrock for an amazing story was all there--you side with the Obviously Evil King because you love the family that raised you and want to rescue them from their abusive father. But with just how blatantly evil King Garon is, Lilith being completely absent from the plot (despite showing up in Chapter 7) and Corrin's honestly irresponsible method of conducting himself in a War Zone, it's hard to see the gold under the grime.

So I thought, "Hey, I'm aiming to be a developmental editor for authors and have experience dabbling in editing already. How about we try using those skills on Conquest?"

And thus, Conquest Rewritten was born!

I'm going to do my best to utilize all of the elements currently present within the game to draw out a more impactful story. This means that there will be no new assets (artwork, voice acting, maps) added in. Every chapter and map will still be the same gameplay-wise, every major event will proceed as it originally did. The only difference is how it is done. The job of a developmental editor is to polish the original story, not create a new one after all!

If you're interested, feel free to come along for the ride! At the moment, Chapters 1-7 have been edited to a point I am satisfied with (though 1 and 6 didn't need any major revisions). I'll likely be releasing edited chapters in batches like this in the future. I'm currently busy with University work, so keep in mind that I might not update too often.

Something's Gotta Give

Like all the most cliche stories, it started with an arrangement. You’d joined the Dagger Squadron out of Naval Air Station North Island six months ago. You’d never thought you’d enjoy being in one place for so long, but you do. You’d quickly become close with Halo and Phoenix, the three of you bonding as the sole females in a squadron full of men. The three of you had been decompressing over beers and cocktails at the Hard Deck, avoiding the men while sitting at one of the tables. The conversation had started with sharing stories of how you’d gotten your callsigns. Callie had shared how she’d gotten the monicker Halo, and Natasha had shared how she’d gotten Phoenix. After their cool stories, you’d felt ashamed, sharing that you’d gotten Lily for your Lily print Lanyard and notebook during flight school. That had just been the start of the night. The three of you had each downed a drink, plus a shot of Tequila apiece when Callie pulled you and Natasha forward conspiratorially.

“Okay. So we’ve all been in a couple of relationships, right?” Her voice was hushed and mischievous.

You and Natasha had shared twin excited looks, grinning and then nodding at her.

“What’s your experience been with orgasms, then?” She’d pulled the two of you forward closer, “Cause I didn’t actually cum unless it was with a woman. The men who I’ve dated couldn’t have found my clit if it had been pointed out to them.” You couldn’t help how you giggled as Natasha shared her experience. Your face had been flushed with laughter and the alcohol you’d consumed when they’d turned their gazes to you.

His cocky confidence hadn’t been a sham or show. He knew what he was doing, and once you knew what you’d been missing, you’d chased after your orgasms as single-mindedly as you approached flying. Your downfall was your damned bleeding heart. You don’t know when or how, but you’d fallen in love with Jake. You'd found him to be sweet, kind, and generous. When he wasn’t playing the part of ‘The Hangman’, he was incredibly easy to befriend and even easier to adore. You wanted nothing more than to have him in your bed all night instead of seeing him get dressed after you’d cum together. It had gotten to be too much. How could you take it anymore? 

That decision is what brings you to now as you wait outside his apartment door on a rainy November night. You’ve been agonizing over what to say to him, though you guess you know what to say when the door opens, and a blonde model wannabe strides out. It’s like a scene out of the movies, you, in your frumpy jeans and t-shirt, looking at this girl in her sparkly dress and heels walking out the door as Jake stands in the doorway wearing only gray sweatpants.

“Hey.” Your voice is quiet as the girl walks away. 

“What’re you doing here, Lily Flower?” Your eye roll is harsh as you step into his space. He stinks of overly sweet perfume, the scent making you feel even sicker than you already are. 

“We need to talk.” You can see something new in his eyes before he steps aside to let you into the apartment.

You can see the emotions warring in his eyes as you sit on the edge of his sofa. He’s pacing in front of you, running his hands through his already disheveled hair. “You’re here, Lily Flower. So talk to me.”

“Jake. We need to stop this.” Your voice rings out like the crack of a whip in the silent apartment. He stops moving entirely, his hands falling to his side as he looks at you wide-eyed in the dim lamplight.

“Stop it?” You’re not expecting to hear the anguish in his tone. “Why?”

“I can’t keep doing this. I broke the first rule of a friends-with-benefits arrangement. I fell for you. Hard. And by the looks of the blonde that just walked out of here, it’s obvious that you don’t feel the same. Something's gotta give, Jake. Something's gotta break. But all I do is give, and all you do is take. Something's gotta change, but I know that it won't. No reason to stay is a good reason to go.” You can’t hide how your voice breaks in time with your heart as you spit the words out.

“I should have never agreed to this. You make me feel so good that I forget everything my brain is screaming at me about you. I ignore all the warning signs, and it’s ripping me apart.” You can’t hear anything other than the hitches in your own breathing as you stare into his luminescent green eyes. “You never even cared about me. I was just a means to an end. A way to get off and another notch on your bedpost.” You’ve got your arms wrapped around yourself as you breathe raggedly.

“You knew what you were getting into, you know that, right, darlin’?” His voice is cruel as he rips into you. “I should know by now. You should know by now. We should know by now. You walked into this of your own volition. So how is it on me if you fell in love? Did I ever once tell you that I would stop seeing other people?”

“No.” Your voice is quiet. “Then what was the point of the kisses and soft touches? The pet names? Calling me your good girl? Any of that?” Your chest burns as you speak. “I’m not completely innocent, Jake. And I’ve never heard of any of that being a part of an arrangement like ours.” You’re standing now, walking towards the door.

“So that’s it, huh? I was wrong, you were too. You’re leaving now. We’re done? Three months of the happiest I’ve ever been, and you’re ending it?” Your legs buckle at the pain in his voice as you yank the door open. Your voice is stripped bare as you return his words. “If these three months were the happiest you’ve ever been, why haven’t you said anything? Why aren’t you asking me to stay? If you feel anything at all for me, why aren’t you doing anything? Why aren’t I in your arms right now?” You wait a few beats, but you walk out the door when he doesn’t move and just stands there.

It’s never been harder to walk away. As you step unseeingly through the puddles and unlock your car, it's pouring down. You break, sitting in the leather seat, sobbing with your head against the steering wheel. It’s silent in the car, only your stifled gut-wrenching sobs and the tapping of the raindrops on the windshield. You’re not expecting the door to be yanked open, though. Or to find yourself crushed against a chest, you know too well. His arms are like steel as they wrap around you. You melt into him, crying even harder now that you can feel Jake around you. His lips press against the top of your head, and you can hear his breath stutter as he holds you. 

“I’m not letting you go, Lily Flower. You’re under my skin, too, sweetheart. I want you in my arms and in my bed. Every day and every night. You’re not the only person who fell, darlin’ and fell hard. I did too. I was just too stubborn to tell you the truth. I resorted to bringing home girls like the one you saw leave to try to get you out of my head. It didn’t work. It hasn’t worked. I don’t think it ever will.” His hands are gentle as he pulls away from you, brushing tears from your cheek with the pad of his thumb. You slip out of the car seat, shut the door, and stand in the pouring rain facing him.

“So, where do we go from here?” Your voice is hoarse as you look into his eyes.

“I want to do what I should have before this. Let me take you out? Let me show you how precious you are? Let me show you how much I love you?” His jaw is clenched as he stares at you, water dripping down his torso. 

You nod once, abortively, before leaping into his arms. The kiss he presses to your lips is all-consuming. It sends heat through your veins, and you kiss him back just as hard. When you part, you’re fighting for breath. Jake sets you carefully back down on your feet, watching in the rain as you open the door again and grab your purse as well as your car keys. His smile is sweet as you lock the car and take his hand in yours.

“Take me to bed, Cowboy.” You’re smiling at the look on his face. “I love you.”

La permanente disolución de la amistad entre Armando y Mario. No quiero un arco de redención para Mario, ya que jamás dio indicios de QUERER uno. Prefiero a un Armando dándose nuevamente cuenta de que se equivocó al darle una 2nda oportunidad en Ecomoda, y decidiendo dar por concluida su amistad.

Un tributo/mención a actores y actrices que ya no podrán estar presentes. Hugo dedicando una colección a Inesita, y que nos cuenten cómo Hugo vivió con ella y cuidó de ella durante sus últimos años. Betty contándole a Camila sobre lo hermosa e inspiradora que fue como persona su madrina, Catalina. Cosas así.

Ver a Camila y conocerla. Que sea la voz de la razón en Armando que siemrpe necesitó. Ver ese vínculo de hermanos. Quizá que ella guíe a Armando de la forma en la que Cata alguna vez guió a Betty.

Evidentemente, ver que Armando y Betty fortalezcan y rehagan su relación. Siendo sinceros, es muy probable que la historia comience desde un punto donde ya están divorciados. Claro que pienso que esto es ridículo y jamás pasaría si Gaitan fuera quien escribiera el guión, pero ne parece que pot cuestiones de drama, querrán implementar esto. Si es así, lo único que me interesaría es ver que rehagan su relación. Y, por supuesto, que el motivo de la separación NO haya sido infidelidad, aunque posiblemente sea la razón que darán...

En general, no hay muchas razones para un secuela en mi opinión, pero ya que desgraciadamente esto es un hecho, hay que tratar de esperar lo mejor en lo peor!

Hi Charity, here's why I think Taylor Swift is an Enneagram 6. now, I have considered Enneagram 3 like many internet users have mentioned for some reason. however, Taylor doesn't seem like the kind to shamelessly promote herself. if she's done it she's done it ironically as a joke (no offence to 3s, I have a 3 fix/wing to my heart fix so I understand) and she may have a 3 fix, her heart fix is likely to be either 2 or 3, but 3s promote themselves as the best and they flaunt their successes to show that they're competent and not in defense of insults to her success like she did when Justin Timberlake insulted her in their skit. Taylor is successful, but not only 3s can have success and a lot of success. if she doesn't have this hallmark trait of an enneagram 3, who lets you know how competent they are every once in awhile, she likely isn't a 3. Taylor focuses on supporting other women, and she replies all her messages her friends send (stated by Camila Cabello). that seems more 6-ish than 3-ish and these are just a few examples. Taylor seems more of a head type imo. If I had to choose I'd say 6w7 and so/sp for her iv because she's focused on friendships/relationships much more than her own self but she does not hesitate cutting people off (sp) if they threaten her or the people around her which she said in an interview

Your argument for 6 sounds 2ish/2-wing to me.

In the interest of considering this, I watched a couple of interviews with her -- she's very calm, put together, slow-talking, and seems quite sure of herself. I don't see any 6ish nervousness or 7 wing 'manic' behavior (loudness, enthusiasm, being silly). She seems very serious and focused. Not all 3s are obviously cringe -- high Fe makes them aware of how they are coming across, and what would look bad (but even though, doesn't she pick on her ex's?). She seems like a heart type to me. Despite being sx-blind, she's always trying to connect and find relationships and reach out to people. Fits so/sp 3w2 quite well.

ETA: Go look up Anne Hathaway Time Travels... on YouTube and watch the difference. I doubt Taylor would announce in front of everyone that the last time she was on the show, she split her pants twice. That would just be ... not image management. i’ve seen people saying that they’re excited to see camila interacting with the boiling isles kids because she’s going to be such a great and supportive mom, and i absolutely agree that she’s going to be great, especially for those of them coming from less than stellar circumstances.

but... she’s also a single mom who’s been caring for a demon kid for months, scared sick not knowing how her own kid is doing, now being handed four more very traumatized kids. she’s doubtless gonna be stressed for a bit. she’s gone from having one kid to having a different kid to having six under one roof. that’s a big change. and it’s gonna take some getting used to.

all i’m saying is if things don’t start out fantastic, it’s entirely reasonable. camila is great, but she’s just one entirely human person. mistakes will likely be made. and that’s okay.

Han pasado 21 días en los que he tenido que sortear bastantes circunstancias difíciles y molestas. Pensé que era única con ganas de saltar del barco, pero no sabía la carga emocional que Álvaro tenía encima. Los dos estamos desesperados. Él quería traernos aquí para progresar, y así tenía la fe. Pero desde que llegamos, solo hemos tenido dificultades. No niego que también se nos han presentado bendiciones traídas por medio de desconocidos, como un pequeño mercado de parte de una señora que escuchó hablar de nosotros: pañales, pañitos, crema, jarabe, dos coladas y un velo para los moscos de parte de un señor que resulta ser un amor (como la mayoría de personas hermosas con las que he tenido la fortuna de encontrarme aquí).

Seré sincera: He combatido contra cucarachas y contra mi asco y miedo para asesinarlas. Contra la terrible humedad que deja el agua que cae en las paredes del cuarto de Camila. Y unos zancudos que tuve que exterminar a causa del desaseo de los inquilinos anteriores. La casa en sí es HERMOSA; pero estas "circunstancias" ponen a prueba toda mi resistencia. Es espaciosa, queda cerca de TODO... En fin.

Hoy llovió muy fuertemente. Fue casi como una borrasca y se mojó el cuarto de Camila impresionantemente. Caían goteras sobre algunos electrodomésticos. Se fue la luz tres veces. Aparte de ello, debo mencionar que ocurren frecuentes bajones de luz y que no tengo internet para comunicarme con las personas que amo, y hoy más que nunca necesito leer y escuchar. Si esto no pasara, esta casa sería realmente perfecta. Hasta cariño le tomé. Pero la dueña no parece apersonarse. Mañana emprenderemos una nueva búsqueda.

Con respecto a mis suegros, a veces, en medio de su afán por colaborar, se tornan intensos y sumamente entrometidos. Mi suegro es hiperactivo y quiere arreglar cosas en mi casa sin preguntar; llegan a cualquier hora sin llamar, nos sermonean a cualquier hora sin importar si es la del almuerzo y está servido. Llenan a Sarah de comida, lo cual la pone mal del estómago, y a veces parece que son ellos los que comandan nuestro barco. Es justo admitir que les debemos mucho en esta travesía y que, en medio de todo, ellos aman tanto a Sarah y Álvaro que no conocen límite. ¡Ja, ja, ja! Con respecto a Camila, se adapta muy bien a todo. No pude engendrar una hija más fuerte ♡. Ya tiene amigos y saca excelentes notas. Asiste a las actividades extracurriculares en las tardes sin queja alguna, no se ha vuelto a enfermar y se le nota mucho mejor. Estoy orgullosa de ella. Ella es mi mayor motivo. ♡

He tenido la enorme tentación de regresar a "casa", pero esta es mi casa. Aquí está la familia que formé. Aunque sé que siempre existe la posibilidad de empezar de nuevo allí. Y si fracaso, siempre puedo iniciar una vez más. Me he reportado y desahogado con éxito. Espero un audio o texto de respuesta contándome cómo está todo por allí. Abrazos.

Telón para el Nacional u23 de la Argentina en Mar del Plata

Fuente: CADA La carrera de los 200 metros llanos, con la plusmarca nacional juvenil establecida por el santafesino Tomás Mondino (20.93), constituyó uno de los puntos altos de la clausura del Campeonato Argentino u23, que después de cinco temporadas retornó a la pista sintética de Mar del Plata, este 9 y 10 de septiembre. Mondino también había logrado los 100 metros con 10.47, seguido por otro juvenil de gran futuro (el puntano Tomás Villegas con 10.57), mientras que en 200 su escolta fue el mendocino Nahuel Pinti con 21.42 y todos los finalistas estuvieron debajo de 22 segundos. Ya en las eliminatorias, aunque con viento a favor superior a los 2ms, se vieron marcas que presagiaban aquel desenlace, incluyendo 20.71 del propio Mondino. Sus 20.93, además, constituyen el récord de los Campeonatos. También fijaron marcas de Campeonato el tucumano Leandro Pérez Lazarte en 1.500 (este domingo se impuso además en 5.000 con 15:18.76) y dos vallistas que emergen como figuras de la nueva generación atlética argentina: Bruno De Genaro (San Luis) y Helen Bernard Stilling (FAM). El puntano, subcampeón sudamericano absoluto en Sao Paulo sobre 400 metros vallas, venció en su prueba con 51.15, en tanto Bernard Stilling -quien venía de ganar en 100 metros vallas- sumó el título de 400 con 1:01.20. Y tanto De Genaro como Bernard Stilling contribuyeron a los triunfos de relevos: en hombres, San Luis repitió su victoria de la temporada anterior y ahora sus 3:16.62 constituyen récord del torneo (la formación fue con Tomás Páez, Franco Mendoza, Ever Illesca y De Genaro). Y lo mismo sucedió en la 4x400 femenina ganada por FAM con 3:57.50, una formación que incluyó a dos menores (Angela Almada y Malena Galván, además de Candela Beláustegui y Bernard Stilling, quien así sumó tres medallas de oro en el torneo). Los atletas argentinos que en esta temporada triunfaron en el Sudamericano u20 de Bogotá hicieron sentir su presencia en la pista marplatense: Uriel Rodrigo Muñoz ganó este domingo los 800 metros (había escoltado a Pérez Lazarte en los 1.500) y Carolina Scarponi se elevó hasta 3.90 m. para llevarse el título del salto con garrocha en damas. Impulsados por el viento a favor, los triplistas desplegaron sus progresos. Nazareno Melgarejo (FAM) retuvo su cetro en varones con 15.53w y 15.09 legales, seguido por Fabrizio Buenanueva con 15.21w, mientras que en damas, la salteña Luciana Gennari llegó hasta 12.53 y la neuquina Camila Salvucci a 12.10, ambas con viento superior a los 2ms. Como los atletas más completos se consagraron Joaquín Olmos (FAM) y Milagros Lamagni (Santa Fe). Olmos continúa su progresión en el decathlon y ahora llegó a 6.383 puntos, escoltado por el juvenil Ignacio Sambucetti con 6.017, mientras que Lamagni reunió 3.952 puntos (w) para quedarsae cn el hepta. Otro nombre destacado este domingo fue el Santiago Zezular, de Córdoba, con 2.06 m. en salto en alto, prueba en la que la revelación fue el bonaerense Luas Figueroa, su escolta con 2.03. Otros vencedores en la clausura fueron el juvenl cordobés Jerónimo Peralta (9:30.14 en obstáculos) y Lázaro Bonora (Santa Fe) con 49.87 en disco, prueba esta que tuvo como ganadora en damas a Candela Ratibel (FAM). También la final femenina de los 200 metros mostró a las cuatro primeras por debajo de los 25 segundos, aunque con un viento a afvor que impedirá la homologación: se impuso una de las atletas de mayor ascenso últimamente, Marlene Koss (Chubut) con 24.41, seguida por la juvenil Valentina Napolitano (FAM) coin 24.53 y la cordobesa Luisina Zaala con una centésima más. Otras vencedoras fueron Nadine Vilca (FAM) con 18:15.98 en 5.000, Bianca Amante (Buenos Aires) con 11:44.39 en obstáculos y la mendocina Yamila Malizia con 1.67 en salto en alto. En las pruebas complementarias de mayores se destacó Ailén Armada con su mejor actuación de los últimos tiempos en disco (56.92), Guillermo Ruggeri en 400 con vallas (51.92) y el recordman nacional de salto triple Maximiliano Díaz con 15.68w.
