Started off the year with a win: I completed The Clearly Impossible Puzzle!
I told myself I was going to build up to this one but it was too enticing. Felt so proud of it, I've framed it on my wall now. 😂
The full journey is on my instagram (relativelyposi) but overall I would say I enjoyed it. Took me about 3 weeks total, didnt track my hours but several days straight working on it.
There were quite a few disappointing false-fits, but I was always able to figure it out eventually. Also disappinted because the pieces do not snap together nicely, they actually move around quite a bit still. The four I held up were already stuck together and I did not break them apart, but the rest of the pieces could not be held up like that.

The puzzle I was working on last week was this pretty 1000 piece Thomas Kinkade Studios puzzle. Its a cheaply made basic ribbon-cut puzzle you can get anywhere that was gifted to me at Christmas, and I have another one I'll do later this year, but I really did not enjoy this one.
The cut was too generic, cardboard too thin, had some false fits, and the sky gradient wasn't distinct enough to tell the difference between color sections. Also although I grew up on Kinkade Puzzles, at this point they are all made by a studio who doesn't sign or share who these ghost painters are on their work, since the painting is designed to evoke the work of this past painter, and as an artist that bothers me.

Can people stop tagging fandom posts with every conceivable fandom/character tag regardless of whether it's relevant?? It doesn't give your blog "reach" it just makes me dislike your post for clogging tags with irrelevant stuff. You're not "working the algorithm" you're creating spam. If I look up a certain topic I expect to find posts about that topic. Tumblr search is broken as it is, please don't make it harder by diluting the decent tagging function.
#for example i like to frequent the sonic x shadow generations tag#because i like seeing all the hype for the game#but people are using it like a general sonic fandom tag#tagging the most irrelevant posts that just also happen to be sonic themed#and i know it's not just the sonic fandom#i just saw a dc post with two characters in it#that was inexplicably tagged with as many characters as could fit#only two of which were in the post itself#if someone looks up tim drake do you think they'll be happy seeing a post falsely tagged with him that he's not in?#like i don't understand this behavior#and i don't understand how it's desirable on other platforms

i absolutely love the empires s2 polycule. like in s1 it was so clear as to who was in a relationship with who and now it’s just a mess.
s1: scott and jimmy go on cute little dates. joel and lizzie are married. joey is in love with xornoth but it’s one sided and toxic.
s2: joey and shelby are in love with katherine but joey also has a thing for jimmy and so does scott, but scott also has a thing for sausage which is reciprocated but sausage has a child with joel who is married to lizzie and i think fwhip fits somewhere into all of this.
