Do you write headcannons? Can i get some headcannons of Nick Valentine mysteriously and suddenly being a human please? I love the hc that he has a difficult adjusting to a human body and awkward things that come with it!

I love writing headcanons! I used to write a lot of them a few years ago, I think my faves are Hancock/Mac/Nick dating a short Sole and jealous Danse/Hancock/Mac.

Here are some hcs for if Nick Valentine suddenly became a Gen 3 synth:

He tells everyone it must be the work of the Institute, but secretly blames his sudden transformation on the Mysterious Stranger. Waking up in a different body is very, you know, mysterious.

Not everyone believes he is still Nick Valentine. There’s gossip that he’s a synth of a synth (Deacon annoyingly calls this synthception). Less people in Diamond City trust him, but that doesn’t mean they stopped going to his agency with their problems. He’s bitter about the insincerity, but will never turn down the chance to find a missing loved one.

Curie is quick to help Nick with any questions about transitioning to a humanoid body. She reminds him she wasn’t always a Gen 3, either. He’s embarrassed to admit it, but Nick trusts Curie over an actual human. He knows she won’t lie or hurt him when it comes to advice.

Jokes that he got uglier. Is insulted when no one agrees.

He’s uncomfortable with drifters flirting with him. Nick was never used to sultry banter, unless it was a sicko with a thing for robots.

But he’s literally the embodiment of a suave noir detective. Of course he can dish out the romance.

“You should see what else the Institute replaced, doll.”

Wants to slam his head against the wall after he delivers a line like that.

Is uncomfortable by his own bodily fluids. Blood and snot are gross and have stained his coat multiple times.

He’s grateful for the new body. There is more opportunity to explore on important cases. He feels more desirable and less threatening to strangers. But deep inside, Nick sort of misses that metallic reflection in the mirror.

(It's 2023 and I'm still playing Fallout 4. And I'm still mad you cannot romance Nick in the vanilla game. The film noir gentleman toaster was a good testing ground for the colour jitter brushes for CSP I've been working on for a while though.)
