The alliance
The fae Prince's bark-brown eyes flashed brightly and he smiled from his perch sitting atop a tree branch. "What is a wolf doing in fae lands? Are you lost?"
Leaves rustled between them like gold and brown scales. Derek's eyes shone red for a second, before returning to their usual green. "My name is Derek Hale and I'm here to propose an alliance between us, Your Highness. And between your family and my pack."
"You may call me Stiles, wolf. We don't stand on ceremony. Tell me, what sort of alliance?" His elfin face radiated curiosity.
Derek grinned. "A marriage."

WIP Whenever
so i read like the first three books in Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series and uh. spontaneously wrote like 2k of a maybe-sterek fic about it and am seriously considering making it a long fic so uh - i hope y'all read something that inspires you like this soon :) tagged by the lovely @outtoshatter
On the day of his father’s funeral, Stiles found a door.  He’d gone home – not that he could call it that much longer – almost immediately after the funeral was over, his father in the ground but the casket not yet covered, the sea of people present for all the wrong reasons not yet dispersed, unable to bear the condolences from his father’s coworkers that were meaningless unless they could bring him back. Even so, just putting the key in the lock of his front door reminded him of everything he’d lost. His eyes burned, but he couldn’t cry. He hadn’t been able to in weeks, not since the night he’d gotten that phone call and he’d cried all the tears he had.  Instead, Stiles calmly walked into his house, locking the door behind him in a routine written so deep into his bones that not even grief could change it, and went straight upstairs to sit in the shell of his parents’ bedroom. It was emptied, nothing but four white walls and scratched hardwood floors, but if Stiles sat where the queen-sized bed had been, closed his eyes and hugged his knees and rested his head against the wall, he could almost pretend he was nine again, with two parents who were still alive and a house that wasn’t reclaimed and that the last two weeks (five and a half years) were just a long and horrible nightmare.  But this is reality, so when Stiles opens his eyes, he’s still alone, numb in his chest where his heart should be, and in an empty room – that wasn’t so empty anymore. Directly across from him, right where his mother’s wardrobe used to sit, was a rather unassuming door.
again, no clue who's writing what right now - if you want me to tag you whenever i happen to have a snippet to post, just lemme know :) if anybody reading this has something to share, tag me in it!!

Imagine looking at Stiles Stilinski and thinking that he isn't elbow deep in pussy. He is gorgeous!! His mouth is always open, he has those long, delicate fingers. He looks like some fae twink who lives in the forest and dances naked under the moonlight.
The most unrealistic thing about Teen Wolf is everyone acting like Stiles looks like a bog creature.
exactly this. they drowned dylan o'brien in questionable plaids and layers in an attempt to cover him up. it barely worked.
the scene in battlefield where he's talking to morrell and it's focused on his eyes has lived on my head rent free for a decade.
fandom lost it's collective shit at wet stiles in lunar eclipse.
like not only is stiles attractive but he's funny, witty and really smart. he's on the lacrosse team and while it's a running joke he's not very good it's only because he doesn't have the confidence in himself.
erica, heather and malia are so valid for being into him. they get it.
like, i went to high school with stiles? i would've embarrassed myself and tripped over my own feet.

you drew stars around my scars
ship: stiles/derek prompt: star gazing characters: lydia, isaac, pack mention cw: mentions of dead parents tags: FLUFFFFFFFF word count: 2.2k ao3
♞♚♞♚
It's been a long day. Make that a long week. Actually, a long month. Maaaybe even a long year. It's been back-to-back monsters that seem to keep popping up every week. And Stiles? He's tired.
The pack needs a vacation. Desperately. But Lydia spent all last weekend ignoring the fae issue and created a schedule. Bless her. And Stiles has the first shift off from monster hunting. Along with Derek. They're the only single people in the pack these days, so it makes sense they'd pair off together. It gives all the couples and partners time to make plans and afford to keep them.
But Stiles is restless.
Being off-duty is hard. He has no idea what the pack is dealing with this week. He's been completely shunned from any sort of knowledge, because everyone knows he'd try to help.
He climbs out his window, dragging a thin blanket with him, and sets it up on the roof of the porch. He doesn't know exactly what he's doing but maybe gazing at some stars will help.
There used to be a time in his life when he'd be able to do this and just wonder at all the possibilities in the world. But now, now he knows anything's possible and it feels a little heavy.
There's a snap of a branch and then suddenly, he's not alone.
"What are you doing?" Derek asks in lieu of a greeting.
"Star gazing. Have you ever heard of it?" Stiles asks, shifting over on his blanket. They don't have to discuss it. It's understood that Derek will join him.
"Hm," is all Derek says before he settles down on the blanket with Stiles. "Why are you doing it?"
"I used to do this all the time as a kid," Stiles whispers, as if he's suddenly afraid to spook the universe by talking about something normal. "It was my favourite thing to do with my mom."
"Oh." Derek shifts. "Should I--?"
"No, no," Stiles murmurs. He reaches out and pulls Derek back down. "Stay."
So, Derek does.
"What are you doing here? It's like one in the morning," Stiles says, turning his head to get a better view of Derek.
"Star gazing," Derek answers. He turns his head on the blanket to look at Stiles. "I don't know. Couldn't sleep. Figured you'd be up too."
"This whole shift thing is great in theory," Stiles mumbles.
"Yeah. I thought I'd be grateful for the break, but it's turning out to be a lot harder to slow down." Derek shifts and then adds, "This is nice though."
"Yeah." Stiles can't seem to tear his eyes away from Derek's. "Yeah, it is."
They don't talk for a while, but it's not as awkward as Stiles thought it would be with Derek. Maybe they've been at this whole monster-hunting thing for so long, the silence is a welcomed presence. He's not sure.
But it becomes a habit after that. On nights they can't sleep. Even when they're on-duty protecting Beacon Hills from the monster of the week.
Stiles starts to look forward to it, even. Humming when he suspects Derek will be coming over.
"What's got you in a good mood?" Lydia asks one day when he's doing just that.
"Huh?" Stiles looks up from the book where he's researching vampires. "Nothing."
"No, no," she says, shaking her finger at him. "I know you, Stilinski. Something... or perhaps, someone has you humming. Are you dating?"
He laughs, because the idea is so ridiculous. "Me? Dating? No. Despite being surrounded by relationships, I am not seeing anyone. Single as a pringle, Lyds. That's me."
"Mhm," she says. "If you say so."
"I do," he replies before closing the book. "Nothing in that one..."
"Right," she says. "Back to work."
And the next time he hums, he finds Isaac looking at him curiously. Stiles can't help it; they're on a stake-out together and it's boring. Nothing's happening.
"What?" Stiles asks after a moment. "Do I have something on my face?"
"Yeah. Happiness." Isaac pauses before adding, "It's a good look, man. I'm glad you're happy."
"I'm--" but Stiles can't bring himself to say the words.
Is he happy?
Hardly.
But he's going home tonight, setting out a blanket, and he even had time to swing by to pick up a pre-made charcuterie board. And he'll spend some time with Derek, talking about the most mundane things.
And that's exactly what they do when Derek climbs up the tree and swings onto the roof.
"Oh!" he says with a pleased smile. "You brought food. I'm sorry, I didn't--"
"No, no, it's fine," Stiles is quick to reassure. "We just followed the witches to the grocery store, so I thought I'd just... it's dumb, isn't it?"
"Nope. I'm starving." Derek settles down beside him, a soft smile on his face. "Tonight, Boyd, Erica, and I had to follow the warlock to the sewers."
"You're old home," Stiles jokes.
"Shut up." But there's nothing but amusement in Derek's expression. He picks up some cheese and asks, "How'd it go with you and Isaac?"
"Fine," Stiles says, shrugging. "The witch just did like, regular people thing. I'm starting to think she's not much of a threat."
"Mm, I wouldn't be too sure. Witches are powerful, and a huge threat to werewolves. They're always after our fur."
"What?!" Stiles bursts out laughing and only manages to calm himself when Derek shushes him. Stiles grins. "Don't worry, Dad's not home tonight. But really? Your fur?"
"Yeah. It has magical properties in some spells," Derek explains. "What? Is that so ridiculous?"
"A little," Stiles says, chuckling. "But enough about work. I want you to finish that story about your parents."
"Oh, yeah!" Derek settles in and launches into the longest, winding story Stiles has ever heard him tell. He laughs at all the right moments, gasps where appropriate, and shakes his head when Derek gets really into it. It's almost out of character for him, but Stiles has really seen him open up. He understands Derek more. And there's nothing in this world that Derek loves more than talking about his parents.
"Scott, Allison, and Isaac kind of remind me of my parents," Derek continues. "It's such a messy beginning to a beautiful relationship."
Stiles feels his face soften. "You are such a soft wolf."
"Hardly," Derek mutters. "Remember, you're human. I could eat you for breakfast and--"
"But you wouldn't," Stiles murmurs.
It seems to catch Derek off-guard, but he agrees even quieter. "But I wouldn't."
"I like this side of you, Hale." Stiles shifts on the blanket and picks up a piece of cheese. He chucks it at Derek, who catches it in his mouth using his werewolf reflexes. "Why don't we get to see this side of you all the time?"
Derek considers this for a long moment. Stiles is almost certain he's forgotten the question by the time he answers. "I think, because we haven't really had time to slow down. We're constantly in war, fighting with someone or something. And..."
"And?" Stiles prompts.
"There's something about star gazing with you," Derek admits. "That's all."
"That's all?" Stiles asks, reaching over to gently push Derek's shoulder. "I think there's more to it than that, but I won't hold it against you."
"You really wanna know?"
"I really, really do." Stiles flutters his eyelashes dramatically in the moonlight. Derek laughs. It's the prettiest sound he's ever heard. Stiles wonders if he could record it so he could listen to it all the time.
Derek shifts and pushes the charcuterie board out of the way. He settles down and stares up at the sky. Stiles follows suit, wondering if maybe it's easier to talk when they're not looking directly at each other.
"You remind me of my mom."
They're not the words Stiles expects, and they take his breath away. He reaches out and slips his fingers in between Derek's.
"She would've loved you. Cora and Laura are both more like my dad. They're strong, no nonsense, bold... but my mom..." Derek whispers. "She had ADHD like you. Was scatterbrained. Would do something - anything - just for the story. Fearless and stubborn."
Stiles stays silent and simply squeezes Derek's hand.
This is the best compliment he's ever received.
"She would go up against the scariest creature and tell them how it was. She didn't care." Derek pauses before adding, "She would've thought you were the bravest - and maybe stupidest - human out there. But she would've admired how much you love the pack, because no one loved as hard as her. But I think... I think you might."
Stiles stares up at the stars.
How does he put it into words how that makes him feel?
He turns his head to face Derek, who's already looking at him. Quietly, he says, "Thank you."
Derek's smiling softly, with tears building in the corner of his eyes. "Yeah. You're welcome."
"My mom would've loved you too," Stiles says after a while.
"You think?"
"Mhm. No one is as fiercely protective as she was - in the best way - but I think you come close." Stiles is surprised when Derek squeezes his hand. It feels so natural to be holding hands with him, Stiles almost forgot they were doing it. "She also would have loved your grumpiness. She would've told me that you put on a show, but you have the biggest heart of anyone she knows."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Stiles takes a breath and then lets it go. Talking about his mom meeting Derek is hard, but not so hard that it hurts. In fact, it brings him a little peace.
"Derek?"
"Mm?"
"I think our moms are best friends in another life," Stiles whispers.
"Me too." Derek squeezes his hand a little tighter. "Me too."
Stiles doesn't tell anyone about the conversation with Derek. Or how he's desperately, quickly, and passionately falling in love with him. He doesn't want to break the magic he's under, because he feels lovesick. Love drunk.
He doesn't know what Derek thinks. Maybe it's all platonic, but the next time they're star gazing together, Derek reaches for Stiles' hand. And the time after that, they lay a little closer.
And if Derek sometimes kisses Stiles' on the forehead before he says good night, it's no one's business but theirs.
That is until Lydia brings the pack together. She's standing in front of everyone and announces, "Alright, we're going to try a new rotation. Stiles, instead of breaking you off with Derek, we're going to put you with Erica and Boyd. And Derek, you'll get your break with Allison and I. This way--"
"No."
Lydia blinks. She looks at Stiles blankly, and he scrambles to catch up with the fact that he just said no. Out loud.
"Uh, I mean..."
"Why not? I thought this would work better, because it means there are less rotations and then we're on a four week schedule vs a five week schedule. And--"
"Lydia," Stiles says, not daring to look across the room at Derek. "I'm asking you to leave it as is."
"Oh." Lydia frowns. "Does, uh, does anyone else have any objections?"
The pack starts talking at once, but Stiles just silently glances at Derek while everyone's distracted. Derek's staring at him, his head tilted slightly, and his expression hopeful. Stiles doesn't know what to make of it.
"Alright, alright," Lydia says, commanding the room again. "We'll keep it as is for now, but we'll look at it during next month's meeting to see if it's still working."
The pack might not all agree, and Stiles knows it might be selfish to keep him and Derek on the same week off, but he doesn't care.
He's already planning his speech for tonight. He doesn't know entirely what he's going to say, but he has an idea. And that's enough.
When Derek hops onto the roof later that night, Stiles has the blanket already laid out. He sits instead of lying down, and he waits until Derek has silently settled in.
"So. That was an interesting pack meeting," Derek murmurs.
"Yeah." Stiles curses silently. He already sounds like a bumbling idiot. And instead of the speech he planned to say, he simply blurts, "I'm falling in love with you."
Derek doesn't dare show any change of expression on his face, but Stiles knows him better than that. There's a twitch in Derek's fingers, and that's all Stiles needs to see to know.
It's not a one-sided thing.
In fact, Stiles is starting to wonder just when did Derek fall for him?
Derek takes a moment. A long one. But he's very certain when he says, "I'm falling in love with you too."
A smile grows on Stiles' face and then he tackles Derek, pinning him down on the blanket. He hovers for a moment and quietly asks, "May I kiss you?"
"Yes," Derek breathes, and then they're kissing and it's everything and more that Stiles has dreamed of.
♞♚♞♚
"Alright," Lydia says at the next pack meeting. "I don't think we need to have Stiles and Derek on a week off together. I think - "
"We're together," Stiles announces.
The whole pack turns to look at him. Stiles snuggles up against Derek, slipping his fingers in between Derek's.
"So, please, do not change the duty schedule because we now have couple privilege."
Derek snorts, burying his face into Stiles' neck.
Everyone starts talking at once, but Stiles doesn't care. He turns to Derek and whispers, "Wanna get out of here?"
"The meeting just started," Derek whispers back.
"So?"
"Case made," Derek says, and then they're slipping out while everyone keeps discussing who knew what when.

Hi, I started a chaptered fic a few years ago and have lost track of it, so I don’t know if it was ever completed. It was a future fic where Stiles and Derek had not met yet, but Derek was hired (not by Stiles) to clean Stiles’ house. The condition of the house was quite bad, and the first couple of chapters were of Derek’s thoughts as he cleaned. Stiles himself does not appear in the first couple of chapters I read. For the life of me, I can’t remember who wrote it, and it’s been driving me crazy. I would love to know if anyone recognizes it. Thank you!
Hi @boomer9108! @ajs624 found this one.

Gingerly
Rated: Teen (2k)
Relationship: Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski
Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale, Erica Reyes, Vernon Boyd, Isaac Lahey, Jackson Whittemore, Scott McCall, Alison Argent, Sheriff Stilinski
Tags: POV Stiles, Magical Stiles, Alpha Derek, Baking & Brewing, Accidental Secret Admirer/Assumed Creeper-Bad Guy, Scenting, Kissing, Hickeys, Getting Together
Summary:
Stiles already knew that the secretive Alpha had a not-so-secret sweet tooth, but not about a favorite spice. He could do something with that.
The Stilinski men were only passable in the kitchen, but he figured he could learn to bake. Woo the guy of his literal and figurative dreams, experiment with finer magic control, and enjoy snacks as he went? Win-win-win.
For Noxnthea and Stiles Shipping Central Ficlet Exchange. Prompt #3, Secret Admirer:
Stiles didn’t mean to end up as [person’s] secret admirer. He’d fully intended to announce his intentions, okay? But then, well… then he accidentally did [insert mistake here], and now [person]’s convinced they’ve got some creepy dude stalking them and goddamnit, if this gets out, the pack is never gonna let Stiles live this down.
Wolf & Snow Moons - Snow prompts: 12, Ginger, Hidden
Stiles began working on his magic over the summer, but didn’t tell anyone because he wanted to have something impressive, or at least reliable, to show when he was inevitably asked to demonstrate. Struggling to light a candle in front of a skeptical audience? No thank you.
So he borrowed some books, started a herb garden, learned various grounding techniques, and eventually it wasn’t so hard to draw from that well of power inside him. Apparently, soon he wouldn’t even need anything except his own will, but for now he actually enjoyed the little rituals. He even got multiple sternum tattoos to aid with things like stealth, protection, and healing and to strengthen his connection to the land and elements. (They looked pretty fucking cool and he only fainted twice.)
Stiles was practicing extending his senses while walking near the new Beta House one evening when he overheard Boyd telling Erica how he realized that whenever he had something gingery back at the loft — drinks, stir-fry, cookies from his grandma —  that some of it always disappeared. At first he’d thought it was Peter or maybe Jackson, but he eventually caught Derek red (or rather, yellowy brown-beige) handed.
Interesting. Stiles already knew the secretive Alpha had a not-so-secret sweet tooth, but not about a favorite spice. He could do something with that.
The Stilinski men were only passable in the kitchen, but he figured he could learn to bake. Woo the guy of his literal and figurative dreams, experiment with finer magic control, and enjoy snacks as he went? Win-win-win.
After numerous attempts ranging from “exploding goo turned charcoal” to “pretty good” his latest batches came out perfectly. Chewy triple ginger molasses cookies, crispy gingersnaps, and decadent dark chocolate gingerbread brownies. The power of three, baby!
He snagged some for himself (quality control) and saved two of each for his dad, but still had a dozen left of everything for Derek. On the way over, he stopped to buy some tea for good measure: chai and lemon ginger. Then it was showtime.
But when Stiles knocked on the door there was no answer. How anticlimactic.
He waited a few minutes and then enhanced his hearing to check for sure that Derek wasn’t home, but instead he heard Isaac, Erica, and Jackson approaching the elevator in the lobby — a.k.a. 3 of the 4 worst possible people to witness anything sincere and potentially embarrassing — so he set the bag at the door, quickly erased his scent. and ran down the stairs while hiding his presence.
The mystery gift was the first topic of discussion at the next pack meeting. Derek apparently enjoyed the goodies (yes!) and only gave the envious betas one of each before absconding with the rest. He assumed it was left as thanks by a half-fae waitress he’d helped the week before, but when he complimented her in passing a few days later she had no idea what he was talking about. None of the wolves could pick up a scent on the packaging and bemusement turned to fear (no!)
There were any number of malicious spells or supernatural substances that could be activated through food, which would explain the lack of scent. And how did the sender find out about his penchant for ginger anyway?
Having lost his nerve (he’d never live it down if they found out now,) Stiles sent an anonymous text the next afternoon to try to put Derek at ease, but that only made things worse. After receiving an angry voicemail on his burner phone he panicked and tossed it.
Another pack meeting was held and they were worried enough to bring in Scott and Allison, though thankfully Chris at least wasn’t there. Allison swept the place for listening devices and Scott asked Deaton to strengthen the wards once the clinic closed. Everyone was now on high alert for what Erica dubbed the “Cookie Monster.”
If Lydia or Peter were around they probably would’ve been suspicious of him being unusually quiet, but she’d left early for MIT and their semi-resident zombie wolf (the 4th and final boss of jerkfaces) was off gallivanting who knows where. There was no evidence pointing in his direction. He just had to relax and keep his mouth shut.
“Definitely sounds like some psycho stalker to me,” Jackson said, making the “screw loose” sign.
“That lady on the second floor who’s always checking you out?” Boyd wondered.
“Ooh, what about that guy at the coffee shop that always gives us extra pastries if you pay for it? I bet he knows how to bake,” said Erica.
“If it’s him, you should roll with it,” Isaac joked, earning a glare from Stiles. How dare he credit some skeevy barista.
“Yeah, maybe it’s just someone with a crush,” Scott said, ever the romantic.
“A creepy person,” Allison emphasized with a frown. Erica nodded.
“Yeah, and with his luck…” she muttered, wincing and turning to a silent Derek. “Sorry, big guy,”
As the others continued speculating Derek only looked more and more irritable and withdrawn. Angry, yes, but even worse, sad. Stiles dreaded the embarrassment and hassling to come, but he hated seeing Derek upset even more.
“It was me, alright!” he shouted, shooting up from the couch.
Everyone paused and turned to stare at him. Scott tilted his head, his expression that of a confused puppy.
“Dude, since when do you bake?”
Stiles shrugged awkwardly. “Since recently.”
“But why couldn’t we tell that it was you?” Erica asked.
“I, uh, might’ve done something with my magic? Surprise,” he said, making jazz hands.
“Magic?”
He turned toward Boyd, who was looking him over as if to check for any changes. Glittery skin or a tail perhaps. Stiles was amused because he wasdifferent now, but only under his clothes were they — and his father — couldn’t see.
“Yeah,” he replied, grinning. “I’ve been learning for a while “
“You, magic?” Jackson scoffed, leaning against the wall. “The only—“
“Me, jackass” Stiles cut in, locating and drawing out streams of flour and black pepper from the pantry and dumping it on his head.
“Dude, that’s so awesome!” Scott exclaimed, coming over to fist bump him as Jackson coughed and sneezed, beating at his hair and clothes. Then Jackson stomped towards him so Stiles stopped him in his tracks just like he kept a pan of B- coffee cake from hitting the floor a week ago.
“Duuuude,” Scott said as Isaac and Erica laughed gleefully. Allison grinned, giving him a thumbs up.
Proud of his progress, he momentarily forgot the situation until he turned and saw Derek watching him with an intense, but unreadable expression. His stomach dropped, but he was still relieved that the subject had changed to his magic and he showed off a few more times, including cleaning up the mess he made. Even the now pristine and mobile Jackson was begrudgingly impressed.
He worked his way closer and closer to the door hoping that with a last good diversion he might even manage to escape (for now, anyway.)
Then Isaac had to ruin it, raising an eyebrow and smirking before asking about his “sneaking around like a weirdo” and wondering why he made a bunch of desserts for Derek in the first place.
Stiles froze, face flushing as he rambled about training exercises and then made up some tradition of potential emissaries leaving gifts for Alphas. He caused the alarm on his phone go off and then silenced it, saying he had to go.
Even with just his normal hearing the sound of laughter echoed as he fled.
When Stiles got home he distracted himself with a new game he hadn’t started yet, storming through the fantastical countryside and targeting particularly tall and smug-looking elves. A few hours later he saved his progress and took off his headphones, sighing and knocking his head against the couch cushions. He soon found himself back in the kitchen where he saw some texts and a bunch of group chat notifications when he took out his phone to check a recipe. He ignored the latter, but read the texts from Scott.
< r u okay? >
< do u likr derek?! >
< like >
< ?🤔🤯?! >
Groaning, he replied < can’t talk, abducted by aliens > as if he wasn’t thinking of a certain Sourwolf at that very moment. He added < (not really) > right after because this was Beacon Hills and then slid it back into his pocket.
His dad came down an hour later in his uniform, yawning as he got a sandwich from the fridge. He was two days into a week of night shifts and was still adjusting to the schedule.
“Hey, kiddo.”
Stiles saluted back and poured him the coffee he started when he heard movement upstairs. His dad thanked him, watching as he finely chopped a bunch of ginger and then added it and some sugar to a jar of water.
“What’s that?”
“A ‘ginger bug’. It’ll be a starter for ginger beer in a few days,” he replied, stirring and covering it with cheesecloth.
He received the patented Sheriff’s Eyebrow and rolled his eyes, explaining that there was negligible alcohol content if you drank it soon-ish or refrigerated it, especially without using extra yeast. None if you just added carbonation instead of letting it ferment.
“Like this one” he said, pointing to a bottle with seltzer and the lavender ginger syrup that he prepared already. His dad hummed dubiously.
“So what inspired all of this?” he asked, gesturing with tonight’s allotted brownie. “And why does everything have ginger? Not that I’m complaining.”
Stiles once again made up some excuses as he cleaned, this time about trying new hobbies and how ginger was supposed to help with focus.
“Uh-huh,” his dad said, giving him a knowing look and the “I’ve got my eye on you” motion. “Negligible.”
“Okaaay!”
His dad ruffled his hair and chuckled as he left. “Alright, I’m off. Be good!”
“I’ve got nothing better to do,” Stiles grumbled to himself.
Or so he thought until he went upstairs and found Derek in room.
“Heyyy, how's it going?” he asked after having a minor heart attack.
The look on Derek’s face could only be described as predatory and he swallowed, backing into the wall as 190 pounds of werewolf prowled towards him. Here it was, his somewhat deserved and unfairly attractive doom.
But instead of mangling him warm fingers circled his wrist and slowly brought it millimeters away from stubbled cheekbones and parted lips. Derek inhaled deeply and sighed.
“You know, I’ve always loved that smell. My uncle, Daniel, used to make these elaborate gingerbread houses full of ‘gingerwere’ cookies in different stages of shifting,” he said, shaking his head with a bittersweet smile. “But I kind of forgot about how much until I came back here.”
Derek let go, but stepped even closer, leaning in to nuzzle at his neck. Goosebumps rose in his wake and Stiles shivered when he spoke again, a now huskier voice pressed directly to his skin.
“And then there was this troublesome brat everywhere, smelling of locker rooms and lust. Cheetos and body spray and the usual things…” Derek's chest vibrated against his when he laughed. “But underneath all of that, his scent was like ginger and honey.”
Stiles moaned as Derek licked his throat, clutching at muscular arms and letting his head fall back in offering.
"Mmm, delicious...just like what you made for me. And now I'm thinking that maybe it’s not just aimless, rampaging hormones with you. That maybe you actually want something more." Derek drew back just enough to meet his eyes with a darkened, red-ringed gaze. "Do you want...something more...from me?"
Stiles surged forward with a wordless cry to meet him, possessive mouth hot and spicy-sweet and even better than his dreams.
"Yes," he breathed, hips jerking and becoming speechless again when Derek switched to trailing bruises down his neck and below.
It seemed like he was going to show off his tattoos after all.

Some Sterek thoughts I like
As requested by my awesome ride or die bestie mutual @that-grunge-fae here are some Sterek bits that I enjoy! Let me know if you want more!
They get together just after the Nogitsune. After months/years of pining and ST that you could cut with a knife, Derek finally snaps after realising just how close he had come to losing Stiles for good, the pain that came with somebody else wearing his skin.
Contrary to popular belief, Stiles makes the first move. In the summer whilst looking for Erica and Boys (whom stay alive and well in my head because I love them), he starts spending more time with Derek, bringing games and food and bullying Derek into actually living somewhere other than the ruins of his house. He does it knowingly and with the grudging support of his father.
Saying that, the Sheriff is not stupid. He knows there is more than meets the eye, and he also knows he would not be able to stop Stiles if he tried. He knew he would have to wait for Stiles to come to him. With that said, he also knows that Derek is a good kid, and a kid he is, he can remember how he was in the Before. He never believed Derek would do those things, and does not say a word when he gets reports of his son spending inordinate amounts of time with him.
In fact, the Sheriff is the one who starts off the Packwide bet, much to the horror of Scott.
He and Melissa both bet correctly, saying it would happen after Stiles is faced with unimaginable danger and certain death, within the year.
Scott says it will never happen at all in his denial
Lydia and Boyd get the closest after the parents, also saying within the year, but without the specifics
Erica bets within a moth for all of the tension between the two, Isaac says two years, and Jackson just ignores them all, but agrees with Erica. The pack just;; avoid Peter and discussing it with him
Stiles makes Derek get so flustered. Pet names and casual affection galore. Sweethearts and Darling and Babe. Brushing a hand along his back, his hands. Resting a chin over his shoulder. It amuses the Pack to a great extent.
Derek is more of a silent affectionate type. Gift giving is his love language. Repairing the Jeep, finding magical tomes, sending Stiles random article links he thinks he will enjoy.
There is no big or little spoon, because Stiles just flops. Everywhere. They are always entangled and sprawled out.
They can both cook, Derek from years on the hiding from Hunters with Laura, and Stiles from after his mother's death, and it is a major sore spot for both of them, but it doesn't mean they don't enjoy doing it. They surprise each other with homemade lunches and dinner dates. Derek even makes the Sheriff some heart healthy, but still delicious, meals he can enjoy at the station because he has more free time, and wants both of the Stilinski men to be happy.
Stiles slipped a house key onto the Camaro keys one day, without saying anything, and Derek doesn't notice until Stiles locks himself out of the house one day and calls. Derek will deny being emotional about it, even more so when the Sheriff calls him Son and welcomes him home every time.
Derek doesn't get a chance to give Stiles a housekey, purely for the fact Stiles went ahead and made copies of every important key in Beacon Hills for himself, but Derek does give him a key to the Camaro, which is even more emotional.

!! Graphic Depictions of Violence
“Hello,” the boy says as he stands to his full height. He’s shorter than Derek, a lot shorter, so when he comes closer, he has to look up at Derek to maintain eye contact. “You’re the boy who was staring at me earlier.” Derek’s brain short circuits. What is he supposed to say to that? Fortunately for Derek, the boy doesn’t give him a chance to respond. “I’m Stiles,” the boy —Stiles— says, while holding his hand out. Derek shakes it and oh, god, his skin is so soft. Derek wants to run his hands all over Stiles' body. Which is very creepy, but Derek never claimed to be a sane individual. “I’m Derek.”

fic rec! 1.2M Teen Wolf Series featuring...at lot
Summary (for story one): Stiles deals with the aftermath of being abducted by Peter Hale and left for dead. It's harder than he would have thought to accept his place in the pack when he's convinced that he's the 'weak one' and can't protect himself. Fortunately, Scott and Sheriff Stilinski are there to help, and to nag Derek until he helps, too.
Comments: I keep forgetting the actual name of this series and keep calling it 'the boy in red' instead, based on the reputation Stiles builds over the course of 15 stories.
This landed in my lap as a rec because Derek is asexual in this fic - eventually in a romantic relationship with Stiles while Stiles pursues a physical relationship with Erica. A lot of those good scenes about Derek's identity and how the relationship forms aren't in the actual canon stories but the fic at the end that's a series of companion tales.
No, the canon series is just good, clean fun adventure staring human alpha!Stiles and oh is he devious. These stories are amazing, with the pack tackling everything from Peter Hale to rogue sorcerers to fae to getting deep into hunter politics in an attempt to destroy a 'kill on site' mentality toward wolves.
There's also a lot of mental health discussions - the author doesn't shy away from anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, or phobias. You see characters struggle, you see them get therapy, see them learn how to cope. You get the good times and the bad times and I loved every single paragraph of this series.
It's embarrassing how often I fell asleep reading it.
