Idk what to tell to the people who still don't get that although is okay to teach kids the rules to live in a society (like respect others or don't kill or whatever), Kotaro Shimura, Enji Todoroki and Toga's parents didn't care as much for society rules as they care for the rules that made them feel okay at home.
Which in the end caused the main villain trio to reject authority and society and turn into violence, since they did try to use words as kids and were royally ignored.
Tenko, Touya and Toga tried very hard to be good kids, but in their parents conception it was not enough 'cause they couldn't repress some of their needs: they wanted their dads and moms to accept them as they were, to accept who they wanted to be, to accept the way they expressed love and accept the way they interacted with their surroundings.
In Tenko's case, Kotaro was unable to accept his kid desire to become a hero. His could be the worst case in bnha, given the violence of his tragedy and how misfortune (maybe even something else) played on it ending so badly. Tomura himself said that house rejected his very identity, even tho Hana tried to support him in secret and Nao stood up for him, little too late. For what we saw of him as a child, his only defect as a son was wanting to be a pro-hero, dream that got him beaten up for, grounded in a rather cruelly manner. Kotaro's trauma turned him into an irrational man, his hatred for heroes was both the build up and the catalysis of the tragedy that ended the lives of the people he loved the most.
Tenko didn't become a villain because he was an evil kid. He became a villain because AFO wanting it so and because Kotaro inculcated in him such extreme hatred.
In Touya's case, it's a bit more complicated. I don't believe Enji's obsession was completely evil in nature, although his actions were truly selfish and it became later abusive, when his desperation blinded him to the point he was unable to understand how bad he has turned out to be. Like in Tenko's case, the mother is at fault only in yhe sense that their lack of intervention allowed the situation to escalate 'til they couldn't prevent it anymore. Touya's case differentiates itself in the fact that he was older than Tenko, his behavior declining over the years into extreme violence, unlike the way Tenko exploded in murder glee when Kotaro hit him one last time.
The lack of proper attention from both Enji and Rei allowed Touya's behavior to become a tragedy. Their negligence, Enji's focus on his work and Shouto (as a project not a son) and Rei's role of a caretaker yet not a mother, combined with the incapacity of Natsuo and Fuyumi to understand what Touya was going through (really, only Shouto could, but at that point Touya hated him too much and Shouto was way too young)... Well, it didn't end well for a kid that didn't want help anymore but attention on his own terms. He was tired of adapting, the same way Tenko rebelled in his insistence of acting the hero way.
The same house rule ( YOU CANNOT BE A HERO ) sent them both to AFO's hands, one way or another. They were kids who couldn't act the way their dads wanted, so fuck them I guess.
That part is compatible to Toga's case. Kinda.
Toga's parents are by far the most twisted of the bunch, which is a lot to say considering that Kotaro hit his kids and Enji even hit his wife. Yet, without having to touch a single hair of their little girl, they inflicted damage so deep she preferred to become a runaway criminal than to stay at home one more day.
At least Kotaro and Enji valued at some level Tenko and Touya's existence. Toga's parents didn't care about her at all. She was as good as a broken doll, an imperfect piece of their furniture, something they wish wasn't related to them at all. Enji was at least worry about his son and he loved him at some degree, the same way Kotaro worry over Tenko was born out of his fear of losing his family. Nothing of it excuses what they do and let it be said that Enji and Kotaro did saw Touya and Tenko as monsters at some point (when Touya tried to kill Shouto and on his Dabi era, when Tenko killed his family and turned to Kotaro). Yet it doesn't compare to the way Toga's parents immediately erased her from their lives, even denying any affiliation. They sent her to that therapy like a car needing to be repaired. She was a sign of status, she was an object that they failed to produce, she was an aberration and a freak, she deserved to be put down.
From the three od them, Toga was the one who struggled the most to fit in socially, not to society standards tho. To her parents.
If all these parents had cared for their kids more than they cared for his own stupid rules maybe things would have been different. But that's the core of their problems, they don't need the whole world to accept them, they need to treat the internalized traumas their parents left them with, the self-hatred and the feeling of inadequacy and the need for acceptance (of themselves) and recognition.
That's why Toga, Izuku and Shouto are the key for their recovery. Acting as mirrors, they are meant to provide the closure the villain trio desperately need. It's not just a sibling or a nemesis bond, but a recognition of the self through the other situation.
If they can accept themselves and correct their ways and get free from their parents absurd rules, if they can move past the child need for their parents validation, maybe they can finally exist in a less painful way.

I mostly wanted this acc to be specifically for art, not rly for anything else but i need to get this off my chest. Obviously if you’ve been on twitter, you’ve probably seen a lot (and i mean a LOT) of hate towards gay ships/shippers recently, (first w togachako, then w stsg) i wanna address all the weird shit thats been happening w jjk dudebros lately. Idk what it is but they’re rly upsetti spaghetti abt even the mere thought of stsg being more than platonic besties, going so far as to shoot down any hint of them being romantically inclined in the slightest - so i thought that i’d take it upon myself to provide poof that stsg has queer, romantic subtext since ppl are being extremely obtuse abt them, all for the sake of protecting their friendship from us evil gays. (other shippers do this too but im mostly focusing on dudebros bc they’re the ones primarily acting like assholes to us for no reason, like yeah, sure, some stsgs are extremely cringey & weird but that can be said for ANY shipper in ANY fandom. When you’re in a fandom as big as this, of course there’s gonna be some bad eggs, it’s inevitable.
ok so. !!DISCLAIMER!! i do not speak japanese, so if i say something incorrect then please correct me. i’ve done enough research to be sure that what im saying is right, but im only human, and sometimes, i might be wrong. so, take what im abt to say with a grain of salt. (just in case).
first off, it should be stated that gege akutami, the creator himself, is an avid bl fan (and ik what ur thinking, ‘oh, that doesn’t mean anything! just bc u read bl, it doesn’t mean you’re likely to write gay relationships into ur own manga!’ which is true, gege HAS said that he doesn’t want to write romance in jjk. HOWEVER, as much as i love stsg & see them in a romantic light, i do definitely think that the reason why their relationship feels so ambiguous is bc gege intentionally made it that way. i think he made their relationship up to the individual’s interpretation. And for ppl who’re thinking ‘why would he do that?’ well, he doesn’t like writing romance, right? so this is the next best thing he could do. and also i have to point out (in case ppl get defensive), gege literally does not and will never care if ppl ship stsg or not, again, he’s a bl fan and if anything - all of the evidence that im going to talk abt proves that he most likely ships stsg himself, so… 🤷‍♂️
2. i’d like to talk about s2’s op & ed which are HEAVILY romantically coded. If you don’t know, the op was written to be from gojo’s pov & vice versa with geto for the ed, the op in particular is a very special case. The song is explicitly abt reminiscing the past , wishing gojo had noticed geto’s sorrow sooner and it also mentions a ‘silent love’. the word ‘love’ being used here is ‘koi’ which EXCLUSIVELY means romantic love… now, since this song was specifically written with gojos pov in mind, doesnt it seem kind of weird to have the word for ‘romantic love’ in there?? (koi can be referred to as ‘young love’ or having a ‘crush’ on someone…. hm… ThAts WeIrD.) instead of using ‘ai’??? which would make more sense if stsg were just besties bc ai is more general and can be used towards friends & family.
and then ofc there’s the whole theme of ‘blue spring’. director park (who directed s1 & jjk 0) has stated in an interview that geto was gojo’s last warm spring of youth. now if you dont know, spring of youth/blue spring means a time in a young person’s life where they have hope and happiness… in animanga, it often means falling in love too… so judging by this, it seems very likely that gojo perhaps developed feelings for geto during their teen years together. Director park has also mentioned in an interview that gojo & geto’s relationship goes beyond ‘friendship’ & being ‘familial’. 👀
3. another clear indicator of gojo being in love w geto is the whole ‘love is the most twisted curse of all’ spiel he said to yuta. ‘but he could mean platonic love!!’ idk, considering yuta had romantic feelings for rika and hes discussing them with gojo & gojo knows this, dont u think it’d be a bit weird for him to mention geto here too? if they were just best friends?? (that’s not even mentioning the fact that gojo & geto’s relationship is supposed to parallel yuta & rika’s in jjk 0…)
4. and then ofc we have gojo saying his last words to geto, which were censored. now, correct me if im wrong but the ONLY times ive ever seen inaudible dialogue being mouthed to another character is when its a love confession mostly seen in romance anime. and like, there’s also no need at all for gojo’s last words to be censored in the first place. (although, i do suspect that his last words may play a major role in the future when he faces kenjaku.) what solidifies it for me being a love confession is that, 1. geto blushed after gojo said whatever it is that he said to him, (only in the manga tho, idk why they didnt make him blush in the movie but its whatever.) and geto replies with, depending on the translation, ‘at least curse me a little at the very end’ or ‘you should at least curse me at the end’. which heavily implies that gojo said something extremely sweet & heartfelt to him as his final words. and if thats not enough to convince u that gojo’s last words were indeed a love confession.. gojo’s eng VA HIMSELF, said that his last words when translated into english means three words… im not saying that gojo’s last words were specifically ‘i love you’ or anything like that, but i am definitely sure that whatever he said was a love confession/something very romantic in nature. bc why else would gege choose to draw geto blushing?? that wouldnt make any sense.
gojo also killed geto on the 24th of december, which in japan, is the most romantic day of the year & couples in japan treat christmas eve as kinda like a separate valentines day. even in the jjk manga recently, gojo offered to fight on dec 24th & kenjaku mocks him by saying how romantic it is… even gege himself acknowledges how romantic christmas eve is in japan, this enforces the idea that gege must’ve chosen dec 24th for a reason, bc why else would he have picked an extremely romantic date as not only the day where he fights kenjaku who is inhabiting geto’s body, but also making it the day geto died?? yall have to remember that all of this has been planned out by gege, none of it is a coincidence… he didn’t just come up with all of this on the spot, he’s been planning this stuff & thinking about it for literal years.
5. and finally, probably the BIGGEST piece of evidence there is, geto & gojo’s character songs. gege chose romantic break up songs for BOTH of them.. like im sorry but if stsg were rly truly only best friends, he would not have chosen those songs for them, it just doesnt make any sense.
conclusion: obviously, this probably isn’t every subtextually romantic thing about stsg’s relationship but these are all the things that i’ve noticed. again, if you see their relationship as purely platonic then that’s fine but don’t be assholes to people for seeing romantic subtext that’s quite clearly there. if i have missed anything out then please let me know and i’ll edit them into the post.

sorry for this rant but I just need to get this off my chest after the latest ep and I feel like you are genuinely the only one here that has good takes 😭
mew: h- fandom: OMG EVIL SICK TWISTED MANIPULATOR I DONT CARE WHAT THE WRITING ACTUALLY SHOWS US HE IS THE WORST PERSON IN THIS SERIES NO MATTER WHAT
top: gets manipulated by boston who uses his insecurities to get him to have sex with him fandom: cheater cheater cheater!! that is his only character trait!!!
all the characters are very flawed but topmew are getting villanized even more than boston who is literally a sexual predator lmfao. and I can understand being pissed at top but mew?? What has he even done that these people haven't completely fabricated from their own minds?? ugh sorry this is probably so long I just needed to say it.
(hi u can rant in my ask box any time)
wait wait wait wait wait
Tumblr media
do people think that the sex tape is real? do people think that that mewray "kiss" isn't right before mew rejects him? they don't think that mew told ray he should go after sand because he had just rejected him and he still wanted him to be happy? (another possibility is that ray confessed and mew just thought he was drunk and told him he loved him too, like a friend - if so, it's already set up, since we know that ray tells his friend he loves them when he's drunk and mew freely tells ray that he loves him. as a friend.) (actually partial to that one since i think mew would tell top if that weren't the case.)
do they not think that boston's actions were extremely psychotic supervillain behavior? do they think that stirring the pot just to prompt ray to confess to mew was... fine? do they think that taking a still shot out of context to show to top to lure him to his car is not serial killer behavior? do they think showing a (fake-ity fake, obviously fake, has to be fake) sex tape to top the kind of thing that makes him better than the person he's manipulating into have sex with him?
do they not know what the word "manipulation" actually means? do they need a dictionary? why is boston's word the one that we should take at face value when literally all he does is lie? why do they believe boston, the pathological liar, but not the characters who are just trying to get through the damn drama despite his meddling?
Tumblr media
i'm so confused. are they fucking with us? i feel like i'm going insane.

I wouldn't actually say the shaman had "no" motive. His motive for killing his wife was plain and simple and very old school. Si-a died for the same reason in a way. It's basically "Beyond Evil". Everything after that is him rolling with it with this newfound power. Fun as he said. And that I think pretty much had to do ironically with Moon's fatal flaw or how Moon and the police are narratively used. He ain't the real MC but it makes a lot more sense.
TLDR:-
The wife and Si-a's death were the same ol', same ol'...
He more or less confesses his reason he gets off on watching the memories fade from his victim's eyes which is extremely creepy
However there was an order and method behind each victim
The key clue was Park Seung-gil and the real start of the serial murder
The shaman has pretty much been playing det. Moon from the word go
It is all about the thrill of the chase + manipulating someone(ironically something he does as a professional shaman- reads people and convinces them to be swayed by his manipulative hints)
Moon thought out the serial murder connection-> fear and panic with the police announcement-> the shaman's ritual foments more unrest and paranoia and the theatrics were put on especially for the detective duo-> Gwang-sik's copycat murder to free Ae-ran led to the third victim-> Moon's skulking in the shaman's house led to Cha Ju-man being the target and the framing of Dr. Jung-> he invited Bong over to make him tofu after she saw his memory(few montages were sus) aka he has tried to lure Ye-bun out alone so he could kill her except after that there was no need as she lost her credibility since the local cops were taken off the case-> he would have killed Seon-woo as soon as he found the knife anyway
He also hadn't given up on his shaman business and used the situation to his advantage
The Shaman pretty much is playing mind games with Moon and Ye-bun, twisting the psychological knife...
Nah I'm giving him way too much credit...
Ironically the one common factor from the beginning was that all the murders are connected to Moon and Ye-bun's cases and he was just tormenting Moon- playing with him. Since the weightage is kept between the three leads and Moon already got to monologue and express his guilt over his failure I doubt there'll be more specific rubbing of salt in wounds.
I may be wrong about this though:-
Like Ye-bun and Gwang-sik he too has used his power throughout but he also used his charlatan acting chops to keep up his bumbling act. Eg: him guessing Ok-hui has a crush on Moon but giving a vague answer that doesn't really explain how he knew it was Moon exactly. Except it was obvious in retrospect that he saw it in her memory.
And his power is the most powerful being purely eye contact plus he doesn't have the hair loss drawback
Ye-bun got "used" by the nutjob detective to solve crimes and also used it for her job with the animals. Gwang-sik the middle aged bachelor used it to date somewhat dubiously but found himself someone he loved and wanted to marry and take care of and vice versa. Both him and Ae-ran were a lil bit ditzy and cute.
The shaman- as he said initially, inspired by seeing Ye-bun he went to Australia to meet his family. Possibly with hopeful intentions, may even have thought he'd use his powers there not necessarily for evil. What happened is from then on.
He had this nature that he would have killed his wife if he discovered her affair even without psychometry. He gave his background briefly and that's enough. He's a truly awful and dangerous person. I won't say psycho since KDramas are so bad with psychology...psychopaths in every kdrama...
His next victim was Si-a and fresh from his cucked rage heres this girl with a "bad character" messing around with men and being shallow and what not. Beyond Evil reference2.
The shaman could have seen that Bong and Moon saved Si-a and were playing at being a detective duo in her memories. The first victim was Moon's first big case in Mujin and it was a girl Ye-bun saved.
It is Seung-gil who broke the pattern for every suspect in Mujin anyway. And he is the key I guess?
The boy was a delinquent who got "set on the right path" by Moon for over 3 years and then got targeted by Moon's nemesis and used against him to betray the man twice.
Nobody but Moon Jang-yeol or Baek Soon-gil would have had a reason to kill Park Seung-gil in the first place. It was that simple. As much as what he did could count as betrayal, both Moon and Seung-gil still seemed to have a complicated brotherhood with Moon shielding Seung-gil from arrest and Seung-gil trying to protect his hyung and the nun by trying to walk a tightrope with Baek.
He had already seen something briefly from Moon's eyes when Moon interviewed him about the panty thief that very day and rifled through his house. Plus each time they met before that. Everyone in Mujin knew this new detective is a mad dog chasing its own tail with various cases some of which he's making up along the way. And he was a Javert who had Ali arrested.
And then by fate a "bone" came from Seoul right into the Shaman's hands and he could throw this bone for the mad dog to chase.
At that point Si-a's body was not even discovered and could have been washed out further or for longer since he threw her in the sea. There was no point in killing someone so closely tied to the hotblooded detective with whom he has no real connection other than just one- the thrill of wanting to be chased while manipulating the whole scenario. He keeps taking a dig at Moon every time after the reveal in an attempt to torment/have the upper hand.
It is Moon who soon after its discovery tied the two murders together and called it a serial murder essentially giving the Shaman a hobby to pursue as the Mujin Rain Poncho killer or essentially like a truly bad noir detective he was culpable in that he made the wind blow and then on out the criminal rode it playing mind games with this ttorai detective.
In the hospital Moon is wary of Seon-woo talking of how he was stabbed near the spleen which by his naturally suspicious nature he probes about. Moon has also probed other people the same way too. Except this case the shaman was there and seems to have noted this. Moon was also wary of Gwang-sik in the room on that note(he frowns about why Gwang-sik came to visit when neither knew the other at that point). During the dog live burial case det. Moon had aired his view on what killers do normally in front of the shaman and this description loosely fit Seon-woo perfectly which the shaman would have known. "Killers come back to some place they are familiar with - hometown, parent's grave, etc"
The Shaman chose to kill Seung-gil who on the surface betrayed someone's trust but deep down had a complicated relation with that very person who was a hardass about the law. However he chose deliberately or on a whim someone personally related to Moon, someone that would make the man throw himself into a big murder case he was desperate to get to go back to Seoul for. Except it's cruel because Seung-gil was a part of the reason he was desperate to go back. Killing Seung-gil was pretty much an invitation to make Moon and Ye-bun pursue the killer aka himself. And mess with them as he liked.
Another literal tragic case of "it matters who you meet in life" as the Shaman said. Seung-gil's tragedy was his hyung- first Baek targets him and then a soon to be serial killer kills the kid because he was tied to his hyung. In fact the whole "people met in life" of all the people Ye-bun informed the shaman the most early on regarding her power and its progress.
In this episode when Seung-gil goes up the elevator the Shaman's eyes meet Seung-gil's. If the shaman only saw Moon's or Ye-bun's memory he'd know Seung-gil betrayed and stabbed Moon. Unless he wanted to keep Moon alive and assumed the kid came to finish the job? Except he's not all that attached to this weirdo cop and if he didn't want to be arrested in the future about his wife or Si-a having him dead would be better. More likely, heres some gangster from Seoul no one will miss?
He's just playing games.
Except it's two friends/brothers(?) with a complicated relation and Moon didn't report Seung-gil despite knowing him would be clear to the shaman and so it doesn't make sense why he'd think he'd kill for betrayal in this case especially since he sees a lot of memories. He much more likely is reading Moon's memory of the keyword betrayal on the police board which to Moon would rationalize why Seung-gil was targeted and fit the common motive except the Shaman doesn't mean it. And there really was no good reason for Park Seung-gil's untimely death not even with the use of psychometry since he never got to see tht final memory other than the availability of means and opportunity.
Then we get to the ritual the shaman got to put on because the police turning it into a serial murder caused panic in society. The shaman makes sure the meeting allocates funds for his ritual and shoots down every suggestion of CCTVs.
The shaman only starts his dog and pony show when he sees Moon and Bong come to the site. And him going "Hyung, it hurts" looking straight into Moon's eyes making him flinch was just twisting a knife into him.
And then he further fueled Moon's paranoia about suspecting the townpeople which he and Ye-bun were just discussing a few minutes ago while cleverly saying something that is a confession. "The person who killed me is here"
As in, he's definitely messing with them.
This is the point where Moon not suspecting the shaman who talked in the same way Seung-gil talked to him is a major failing. It should have stuck with him as suspicious instead of seeing only the bumbling eccentric of a shaman who gets things right by guesswork.
Not to mention the shaman seemed like a Mujin resident but was actually partly an outsider too. Aka fit the profile. His background check not raising any flags is a plot hole. Big plot hole. Especially since det. Moon checked out the profiles of not just Cha Ju-man, Seon-woo, the grandpa but...this man freaking ran a background check on the onion farmer who went nowhere near Bong that night!!!
Ji-suk I believe died in place of Ae-ran. And frankly it wouldn't have mattered which of the two it was since both fit the red herring motive "betrayal" for the plot. Gwang-sik got the idea to commit a copycat killing to save Ae-ran from her situation using the general air of panic that had gripped the town ever since a serial killer was announced to be on the loose. The shaman didn't mind there being a copycat. It brought him even more revenue. This spiraled when the shaman who was reaping great fortune is shocked out of his wits that Ae-ran is alive. But even though he tries to make it right it is Ji-suk who came for the delivery.
Now we come to Cha Ju-man. The shaman goes to kill him after Moon breaks into their house and the shaman reads him "you suspect Seon-woo". So he uses that single-minded grudge Seon-woo has against Cha Ju-man which was a clue the police were holding on to and this for no other reason than throwing Moon another bone to make him suspect Seon-woo even more. He definitely looks down on Moon for being straightforward(?) and predictable.
Dr Jung was simply at wrong place, wrong time. The shaman was fond of the old man but he couldn't be caught just yet now could he? Cold and cruel just like what Cha Ju-man did to Bong's mom. Tragic again about people not knowing the nature of those they think they know. Ye-bun defending the Shaman when Moon wants to keep him on the suspect list too all because she absolutely won't believe he would kill her grandfather who was kind to him. He killed the old man to keep from getting found out and despite what he tells Bong he would have killed her too if there was a way he'd get caught because of her.
Moon who was paranoid to a hysterical pitch by then about Seon-woo and Cha Ju-man runs to the scene to find himself being right about Cha Ju-man being the next target. All according to keikaku!
He's by now also got his captain into suspecting and focusing on Seon-woo as the Shaman intends because of that connection being fresh in their minds because the Captain was investigating Cha Ju-man's misdeeds. Literally he read det. Moon's psychology perfectly.
Gwang-sik was the one who checked out the memory during the prawn festival, and somehow gets suspicious of him and goes off to investigate solo without informing anyone else. The whole sunglassses trick thing was a plot hole again foreshadowed during his ritual in the mountain but the plot begs for suspension of disbelief... especially with the number of times the rain poncho killer got hit on the head and its as if his hood and sunglasses ought have been secured with superglue...
After he kills Gwang-sik he was looking for the opportunity to kill Ye-bun since a lot of his memory montages is full of Ye-bun. His memory montages also betray a lot of his crimes which Ye-bun skipped through because she didn't suspect him. The time the shaman invites Ye-bun to cook his tofu for him on that note...could be sinister...
He also gets the opportunity to frame Seon-woo for good since det. Moon had cornered Seon-woo and Seon-woo's natural antipathy about the police all of whom were in his opinion viewing him suspiciously(I'll side with det. Kang here tho. Man is cold and rational and he wasn't all that unapproachable unless it was about things like psychics, showed no hositility to Seon-woo and he was professional enough he wouldn't have taken his maddog colleague's side over his own understanding) saved him from being found out last moment and the possibility he'd be selected as the culprit instead since they live in the same house played into it. So basically he also read Seon-woo's psych to a t. The police take the shaman into confidence and he is their trusted inside man but the lad took his knife! Again the police procedure going off key since they never got a warrant to check his shed? Really?
But the biggest is the Australian police- Korean woman is found murdered, her son who was raised in Australia and most likely went to school there is missing, the husband entered and left the country with said son in a hurry...and not a peep?

Man, Buddhist ramble here but like, I actually like read the passed around post of the Tibetan Buddhist talking about Tulpamancy and how its just NOT Buddhist and as a Zen Buddhist, one of my largest issues and frustrations with the concept of "modern tulpamancy" being called tulpamancy and being Buddhist was VERY directly and specifically put in the same words as I would when explaining Buddhist philosophy and I'm just like.... ah so this is in fact Just a Buddhist thing.
"The biggest, most dangerous form of evil in Buddhist thought is "ego" or self-grasping. If ANY mental phenomena increases your self-cherishing attitudes (self importance, grandiosity, jealousness, craving, hatred, self-loathing, self-absorption etc) it's evil. IF a mental phenomena causes greater flexibility, less attachment, more tranquil emotions, less mental chatter/discursive thinking, increased generosity and compassion toward others, higher mental clarity etc.--that's good. When working with the infinite power of your own mind, it's important to think of it like a garden. What plants are you tending to most? Are they medicinal? Are they ornamental? Are they poisonous? Are they weeds?"
as well as
Now, leave it to Victorians to take Tulku concept and turn it into a completely individualistic way of making another Ego inside your Ego--as if having one wasn't enough of a burden.
I would also like to say for those reading this, do not use white, western, and christian interpretations of terms like "evil" and "good" - evil and good in Buddhist philosophy doesn't inherently mean Evil like it does in Christian heavy spaces. It means a thing that brings dukkha or suffering / unhappiness.
A large core of zen is removing the "I" from life.
And no, again, western perspectives, this doesn't me "sacrificial selflessness" necessarily either, it doesn't mean anything more than 'removing the I' and if that confuses you or doesn't make sense, that is because - at least in Zen practice - it is an extremely esoterical concept that sets the frame work for a literal life time of practice to explore and deeply understand. There is no way I could ever imagine to explain what "removing the I from life" means in a textpost that not only does it justice as someone who is relatively young in my practice to explain it to someone who doesn't know the practice at all, in one post. It's not something you can explain, it is just something you either need to engage with to understand or simply just respect. If you have preconceptions of what it is, you are probably incorrect.
So the very act of creating more egos and concepts of "I" with details and divided lives and interests and tastes and aesthetics and relationships is just... so fundamentally not Buddhist. I used to say not Zen Buddhist because that is all I can talk about, but apparently not Just Zen Buddhist.
Its honestly - as an ex-Satanist/Luciferian (depends which part you ask) myself - like trying to make the case that Satanism is a genuine innocent respectable break off branch of Christianity that is not at all meant to be mocking, twisting, or disrespecting Christians. Satanism is taking everything Christians tend to condemn about the human soul and spirit and flipping it on its head to have its own philosophy and ideology. It is inherently a fuck you to Christians (which I support love yall)
"Modern Tulpamancy" is taking what is one of the largest causes of dukkha (probably the closest thing to 'sin' if you HAD to draw comparisons) in Buddhism and just... EMPHASIZING it, making it the center of your lifestyle and/or practice should you choose to use that term, and then trying to say.... its not??? disrespecting??? it??? that it isn't a mockery???
It's just a headache.

Question I have BC I love your opinion and I think you have a great understanding of these characters (and jjk as a whole) what do you think about yuji and megumi's relationship and the parallels between them and suguru and gojo?? BC personally I think it's EVIL and hurts me so bad but also just.....idk I'm terrible with words so I can't exactly express why I think it's done so well but i do so just curious on what (if you even do) you think abt it?? I think parallels in jjk are honestly crafted so well in general and gege truly has such a clear idea and understanding of what and where he wants the story to go. Apologies if you've been asked smth like this before there's a very good chance I've missed it but I hope you have a good day and I hope megumi comes home soon bc it's getting pretty dark out 😞😞😞
HOLA anon. Thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence 🫡
So I feel like your ask needs a thorough re-read of jjk, which I am unable to do at this time.
I also have to admit that I had never paid much attention to "parallels" in general, so that makes it a little harder to look back and pinpoint exact moments for a proper analysis of Megumi/Geto parallels. But I HAVE thought about this in passing before.
So, while I don't think I can do your ask justice, YES! I think aside from parallels, I'd also say that it feels like Geto's story is also meant to be a cautionary tale for Megumi.
Let's taco'bout it under the cut...
I'll start by saying that jjk has been exploring the idea of "intergenerational trauma that is passed down from generation to generation". So there's something that feels extremely cyclical about jjk right now--like a cog.
That said, the Megumi/Geto parallels are most likely meant to underscore how, due to the nature of the work they do, the same tragedy keeps happening time and time again.
If I were to pull a quote by Jung that encapsulates this, its the idea that "until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."
Now, jjk has also felt like an exploration of the "corruption and redemption of the self" for some time now. To me, this means that a sorcerer is often confronted with the question of what is aspirational about his human nature and what isn't, but more importantly, the choices they make as a result of being confronted with this question.
In Geto's case, the aspirational values he chose were actually quite twisted. After all, he chose to justify committing genocide with his love for sorcerers. Similarly, Megumi had no qualms killing indiscriminately if it meant protecting Tsumiki.
They have both made a choice where protecting someone (aspirational value) justifies something not aspirational as a necessity (killing others is a turning away from aspirational values). In other words, you could say they have both "sinned" for lack of a better word.
This is where "saving" others who are ready and willing to be saved comes into play. Gojo couldn't save Geto because Geto wasn't asking to be saved; on the other hand, Yuji is trying to save Megumi because Megumi asked to be saved.
Tumblr media
Megumi asking to be saved is relevant af because it means Megumi acknowledged something Geto couldn't or didn't acknowledge about himself.
The thing is that Yuji also had to be receptive to the idea of saving Megumi. As of ch143, Yuji had had his sense of self bruised and battered by Sukuna's rampage in Shibuya for which he felt responsible for. And now Megumi is asking him, a mass murderer, to save him.
Tumblr media
It's almost like Megumi is absolving Yuji of his sins by asking to be saved. This is Megumi validating Yuji's desire to save others. So, who's saving who, really?
On the other hand, while Geto was descending into a corrupted state, Gojo had his head so far up his ass with the whole "The Strongest" identity, that the best he could do was ask Geto if he had lost weight.
Tumblr media
So I feel like this is where the parallels turn into a sort of continuation of what could have been possible if Geto would have come to Gojo and asked for help, and if Gojo was emotionally available to this bid for connection when it could have made a difference.
In retrospect, given the emotional state Megumi was in during the Yorozu reveal and how anxious he appeared to be during his fights inside the colony, I think that in asking to be saved, Megumi was asking for a lifeline from the bottom of his heart. He was asking Yuji for the strength and unwavering conviction that he was missing in himself.
I like to think Megumi knew he would have to kill others, and that he would be willing to do it if it came down to it. This meant Megumi might have been aware that he'd have to set aside his humanity and any aspirational values he might still be hanging onto.
So who better to ask than the one person he knows to have unwavering humanity?
Tumblr media
Geto never asked the same of Gojo.
So I am not sure whether Gege is trying to say that because Megumi asked to be saved it is more likely that he can be saved.
But here's the thing...
And I am very much aware that this is my personal preference, but I believe that Megumi (and Geto since we're on the topic of parallels) has to save himself.
While I LOVE the religious symbolism behind the idea of Yuji "saving" Megumi and think it's super bromantic, waiting to be saved absolves Megumi of responsibility for himself. And right now, at the core of Megumi's arc, is the idea that his sense of self was suppressed by Sukuna precisely because there was a hole in Megumi's sense of self that Sukuna could exploit, therefore arresting Megumi's development. To continue that development, Megumi has to choose himself.
So I am curious of where Gege takes it from here.
Now, on the topic of saving others, there's actually REALLY juicy symbolism around the idea of "saving" in chapter 236 and 238 where Sukuna is technically absolving characters in their last moments.
So that's a nice parallel and commentary on the idea of saving others.
Anyways, did this make any sense? lol. I read and re-read this thing several times and I kept making edits so I hope I was able to express my thoughts properly.
Tumblr media
Hopefully the tangent made sense.
I think parallels in jjk are honestly crafted so well in general and gege truly has such a clear idea and understanding of what and where he wants the story to go.
Thank you for sharing your jjk-love. Yes, I couldn't agree more that, not only does Gege know where he's taking his story, his attention to detail on how he wants to execute these themes is fantastic.
Thank you for stopping by anon :)

I don't get the idea that Eggman is only dangerous if you mess with him to try to make him sound like a better not so bad guy.
As if he doesn't have an extremely quick temper that can cause him to snap at people for the smallest things, not doing things exactly as he wants whether by choice or just failing him because he had impossibly high standards of perfection in performance, or even doing nothing at all but manage to annoy him. As if he isn't so egotistical and self-centered that he constantly both unintentionally and purposefully hurts people without considering or caring for their feelings at all.
As if he doesn't intentionally hurt people unprovoked when he attacks first not just Sonic and friends but also random innocent people, and is also careless towards any collateral damage despite acknowledging it before he acts. As if he doesn't use people to do his dirty work, often manipulating them into it, and then stabbing them in the back and discard of them the second he no longer needs them without a care, developing no attachment to them to make him hesitate whatsoever.
As if his methods in accomplishing his goals aren't very evil and dangerous as he'll cause global destruction to get what he wants, carelessly damage and pollute the world, nature, and wildlife, and try to threaten and kill people to get what he wants. As if he hasn't said he doesn't care about the state of the planet as long as it's still there to conquer because he doesn't care about its natural state and wants to "improve" it in every way to make it his twisted definition of "perfect".
And what about the way he specifically wants his theme parks to be as messed up and dangerous as possible with sadistic enjoyment and morbid humor to go with it? Even when he conquers the world, the deadly theme parks and pollution will persist, and everything would only get worse if he has the full freedom to do it without being stopped and he also got to establish many more of his messed up oppressive and controlling rules of the Eggman Empire upon the world.
As if his beliefs and ambitions aren't inherently dangerous- even though believing he's superior and above everyone, should rule the world all by himself, and has a hunger for power where he wants to control everyone and everything, would obviously equal the exact opposite of a safe and caring place if he was in control. He sees his goals as the opposite of world peace and even says so, it would be a dystopia with no freedom and constant neglect and suffering for anyone who isn't named Eggman.
Eggman is not a safe person to be around in any sense, even beyond mentioning how he's a war criminal with a desire for dictatorship with just as forceful, highly dangerous, deadly methods of accomplishing it as the beliefs themselves. He is the most dangerous threat for a reason and I wish people would treat him as such more often, especially because it's not just my words, it's the official word. It's not the official series that treat him as the complete joke that people misinterpret him to be.
Tumblr media
Just because he's also a silly funny guy and has a casual side and private life like even all the worst people do obviously, doesn't mean he's not always dangerous even when he doesn't appear as an active threat. The way he can be a convincing liar and actor in pretending he isn't and manipulate, trick, and gaslight people into doing his dirty work makes him even worse. The way he uses propegganda makes him even more dangerous. He doesn't have good intentions or care for anyone else. He's evil and he knows and embraces and enjoys it.
This isn't just my interpretation in this case, every single point here has came from directly a scene and things he's said with his own words, most of them being right there in the games, other closely related media, and absolutely none of it comes from comics and shows that aren't canon, all of this is specifically about game Eggman. He's already dangerous and sinister on his own and can only get even worse because of others, not because of anyone else's influence alone in the first place. And he's great for it 💜

Thinking of a yandere Warden Ingo and Emmet who are so awful, even Volo is horrified. Imagine if, in some twisted turn of events, Volo ends up actually saving you from them, using Giratina's powers to help keep you hidden away. Obviously Volo has his own issues but between him and the twins, he's a much lesser evil. Idk, I have a soft spot for stories where the villain ends up being a hero due to the existence of a greater threat. Kind of like Volo and the twins got role-swapped I guess.
The Twin Wardens are terrifying duo. They understand each other without having to say a word and everything between them is completely natural. If they chose to share a partner, especially the supposed Hero of Hisui, they would be extremely thorough. Long winded discussions about the best way to keep an eye on you while attending to their duties as Wardens. They also cannot arouse suspicion about what happened to you. Currently, people believe you were attack and likely killed by wild pokemon. Just what they wanted and had staged the scene. Of course, not everyone believed this story. Some claimed the scene was fabricated; made to sell some of lie that you were dead.
Ingo and Emmet both ignored those people, too happy to finally have you in their arms. You are smothered in affection and praises. Both remain at your sides as much as they can, but they cannot shriek on their duties. It would make them appear suspicious. One goes, while they other stays. Sometimes even disguising themselves as the other to help further see the illusion. Emmet is clearly their preferred keeper in these cases. Ingo knows the Diamond Clan Warden will keep you in line. You slowly break down in their care. They both treat you better than anyone in this world had, but had gone about obtaining your affection in the worst way possible.
Someone, who had been observing you closely, had put together what happened to you. They felt sick at the strange game of house the Twin Wardens seemed enchanted with playing. Volo clutches his hands tightly. First, you ruin his plans. Then, you ruin his second idea by getting yourself trapped by two insane men. It was hard to lure the overprotective Warden away while the other worked, but the blond managed to do it with a wild alpha pokemon much too close to the mountain cabin. He was quick to snatch you away, clamping a hand over your mouth so you did not alert Emmet. He sneaked away with you to the hidden retreat.
If you returned to Jublife, the news would get back to them. Volo needed you for his plans and somewhere... He felt disgusted. Would he place himself above their actions? No, he perfectly comprehended them. He was desperate to get what he wanted, too, but at the same time... His heart ached when you clung to him with tears pouring from your eyes and thanking him for saving you. Lady Cogita even seemed to view him differently after learning what he had done. He felt strange. What had you done to him? His plans to meet and usurp Arceus found themselves on hold as he worked to rehabilitate you while keeping you safe from the twins.
He felt the eyes staring at him as he wandered through the highlands to read the ancient texts inscribed in stone.
The Twin Wardens faced him with expressions that might have made a lesser man cower in fear.
Pokemon Wielder Volo would have to battle these two, it seemed.

ranking for who would be the worst lovers to get into a serious fight/argument with? Out of susanoo, orochi, tsukuyomi, yato and izanagi? And some hcs too on how they would behave (if they would leave, take something away, etc)
From the worst to the most non-conflicted person:
Yatonokami. He is able to twist every word s/o say. He may, of course, agree, so as not to waste time on idle chitchat (he really believes that fighting is a pointless waste of time). However, Yato always does what he wants, even if he has agreed with his partner. He will turn any word in his favor. I give him first place because he is the one they will spend the most nerve fighting with, although he will always be calm and smiling. Yatonokami really won't do anything, he's not the type to behave aggressively or react in any way to conflict. Yato doesn't care about such things
Susanoo. This guy is very hot-tempered and acts sooner than he thinks, so a serious argument with him is pretty tough on his partner. Warrior God usually accumulates lots of little lightning bolts around him when he gets angry, so Susanoo can electrocute s/o (not intentionally). Susanoo may speak out rudely or grab their arm if his partner wants to leave, but he always stays until they find a compromise together. Although Thunger God knows he needs to calm down, Susanoo just doesn't know how to step back for a while to think things through. This is really a problem for him. It should be noted that quarrels with him are extremely rare, Warrior God is very loyal and sociable with the person he loves, however, if Susanoo gets angry…
Tsukuyomi. Another troubled guy. In addition to being very traumatized by the life he used to live and then died and came back to life again, rethinking many things, he is also very attached to s/o, so a serious conflict with him would be a real headache. It is really dangerous, because Fake Moon Lord will go to any lengths to have them with him, whether it be his own end or the death of s/o (if possible, Tsuki doesn't even mind killing himself and his lover, just so they can stay together). Tsukuyomi is very difficult to anger, but if he does, then his partner will regret very much that he did it. As punishment, Tsukuyomi can isolate them from the outside world. They really have to be mentally stable, otherwise this guy will just drive them crazy and they'll kill themselves. He can only hear a person equal to himself, so here, too, much depends on the personality of the partner
Orochi. This guy doesn't care at all what they think. Serpent Lord does what he wants to do, and Orochi doesn't see any problem with it. Evil God will just dodge all the fights and problems, so s/o can't even fight him
Izanagi. Of all men, he is the most non-confrontational. Izanagi reacts calmly to everything, and if he gets angry, this guy recovers quickly and never lets himself think on his hot head. Ancient God has lived an incredibly long life, and it is impossible for him to be really annoyed by such domestic nonsense. It amuses him rather, and he often teases s/o. Izanagi tends to give in to his lover in conflict situations or find compromises convenient for each side
I love all the requests I get sent, but this one was especially challenging and got me thinking about a lot of things! I have changed guys in the rating many times, because too much depends on the specific conflict case, the stage of the relationship between the guys and their lovers, as well as on the personality of their s/o. So we can say that they are still able to switch places. Everyone except Izanagi, this guy has seen too much shit in all the worlds. With a right partner, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi are able to change for the better, so their reaction may be softer, but some negative aspects of their personality will still remain unchanged

We'll Always Have Casablanca
Salutations I have come with even more resident evil brainworms. Fic part 1 of 3 (tbd), follows several years after the ending of Once (That Was Enough). Written as gen fic for every character alluded to, though if I squint and feel like it's otherwise I can defs tag. Also sorry for rough formatting - wrote this all on mobile while AO3 is down. Hope you enjoy!
Characters: Steve Burnside, Leon Kennedy
Summary: Steve gets an unexpected request from a distant acquaintance.
Word Count: 634 (of 4185)
Warnings: Alcohol use
~
It was the autumn of 2004, and Steve was starting his last year of college in Virginia. With NOVA being damp and cold, and Claire out traveling for Terrasave, he spent most of his time stuck at their apartment. Sure, he still hung out with his old dorm friends, but the past year and a half had been sobering. Chris' intel had shown traces of a bioterrorism incident in South America with t-Veronica involved, but the US government was taking extreme measures to keep it covered up. Steve didn't want to think about how that virus ever made it out of Antarctica (because eventually his ruminations all came back to him), and so he committed himself to his biomed papers. Could've sworn he wouldn't follow in his dad's footsteps, but it was therapeutic to at least start putting together the pieces of how his body worked. He'd never be able to get a government gig (medical testing would out him immediately), but he'd looked into some private sector jobs, and was confident he'd be able to get hired as discreetly as possible.
He'd read halfway through a paper when his cell rung, blue screen flashing an unknown number. It was a series of rapid texts. Steve opened his phone, wondering who it could be.
Is this Steve?
It's Leon
Leon... Kennedy? The last time they'd met was back in '99, when he'd awkwardly delivered a bottle of Makers Mark that he'd made Chris buy for him. (All the adults bought alcohol as thank you gifts - he just hadn't been quite adult enough to buy it himself). They were acquainted, sure, but not enough for him to message out of the blue like this.
Yeah, it's me.
You lost Claire's number or something?
Steve typed, in the only conclusion he could reach. Leon was another guy who traveled frequently - maybe he'd lost her contact info while abroad. Then again, why would he have his?
The response is fast.
No
You're still in nova right
Yeah, what's up?
The next message is an address - closer to DC, but nearby enough for him to recognize the zip code.
Can you get here now
Need advice
Don't tell Claire
The stream of texts paused for a moment, and Steve took the time to try and process all this. That nasty thought about South America suddenly became much more relevant. There were very limited ways he could be useful to a government agent, but Leon surely understood that fact just as much as he did. Claire had told him how Leon had insisted on utter secrecy about t Veronica back in '98, squeezing her arms across her chest as she recalled Leon's near-outburst. When Steve had met him in person, he hardly seemed like the guy in her story. He was a strait-laced, handsome, if not somber guy. He'd taken the awkward gift of whiskey with the politeness of a natural conversationalist and the steady gaze of a seasoned veteran. As Sherry had so aptly put it during their visits, Leon was her hero, and clearly exuded those qualities.
'Uncle Steve' on the other hand... tried his best.
Hell, he'd help out. Everyone he knew held Leon Kennedy in high esteem, and if he wanted info in person about t-Veronica or whatever else, so be it. Worst case, he'd ask Claire to bail him out... Somehow.
Sure - everything okay?
He added after rereading the last message. The desire to keep it from Claire was still unclear.
The next response was looser.
yeah just dont tell claire yet
you can handle keeping quiet for a day right
Steve felt mildly offended - sure, he'd be the perpetual kid in this twisted found family of his, but he could at least keep his mouth shut.
>:(
Omw
Then again, maybe the instant need to type an angry face meant something about his character.

Minami anon x5 YEAH FOR REAL to everything….. The way Majima treats his men is very. Hrm. I saw a good essay about it before regarding how Majima after going through the abuse he's faced only Knows / understands how to project that same sentiment with the most obvious example being Nishida who has almost like a looney tunes esque dynamic with him. And how that later goes on to talk about Majima associating Minami who is extremely clearly trying to emulate him with Sagawa + Shimano which led to like the disconnect in their relationship. Idk if ive tldlred that very well but yeah. It was very Majima centric though which makes me wish it talked abt more how Minami views the situation because again I do very much think it’s just a case of Minami wanted to do Somebody and he ultra latched onto the first person he saw that was That. Very like duckling following the leader. He most likely has no idea what the hell baggage Majima has and just continues viewing this act he's put on in such a glamourised revered light. The Cycle Of hell continues and continues forever. I feel like you could even make an argument Abt the like never wanting to accept defeat thing as another emulation of Majima who like very famously Just Keeps Trucking Along and Never Lets Up. Also so real about the tidbit abt the junior leader like it really just feels like something they made up out of the blue but it’s fine it’s just his now……. I agree that Minami very much does not give me like patriarch vibes I feel like nothing about him screams a person who wants to *the* most important- Its why I word it as like Minami wants to be SOMEBODY, but not the somebody who has all of the responsibilities and the stress that comes with being in the super hardcore major leagues- again, going back, a very sort of Immature or Young person kind of attitude to have. Also okay I thought it was both kinda hilarious and sad How the guys in the karaoke scene didnt want to be there 😭😭😭 really just feels like they were Dragged along because “why not” / because Minami is seemingly more carefree about things. I'd love to see him interact w just like the normal ppl of kamurocho or if he like worked at the construction site with his fellow coworkers like are they immediately put off or find him annoyingly pleasant enough. Idk if i have anythin to say abt it but i also LOVE ur tags and the idea of Minami putting himself through hell willingly to be as strong as majima garghghgghghg….. also its okay if ur actually sick for real like w a cold I hope u get better soon !!! Ironically i also have a minor cold so JWJJDJDEJ
we are so back......... you and me anon... we are both sick in the exact same ways (brainrot included)
I looooove the terrible recycling dynamic of abuse from Majima to his men and that sounds really evil but i mean like. its an extremely interesting and Real Thing to portray (completely on accident!) and explore. and i can't even act like i'd be better if i were him sometimes. i know damn well his boys are incompetent (everyone on earth is) and/or pains in the ass (definitely Aratani, probably Minami, but he dont mean it) and physical violence is part of their way of life in this fictionalised mega-gang. in a twisted way violence is more than just that, it's the solution to everything, it's the crux of everything, it's care for those who need to be able to stick up for themselves to survive and it's also a burden by way of Fighting Game Protagonist Syndrome. at the end of the day the abuse is still abuse, but you see some interesting perspectives with this kind of framework in that world..... including folks who'd enthusiastically participate in the looney-tunes Slapsticked role, like my take on Minami. Nishida too, but i don't think he's enthusiastic, just begrudgingly accepting of things...
i know the EXACT post youre talking about and i completely understand being Majima-focused in these kinds of rants cause he's the one with all the interesting shit going on and yknow. canonical character depth...... i try my best to not get sidetracked but Majima intrigues me as much as the people around him.... they made him and his relationships both fun and fascinating. to keep it Minami ways you'd probably be saying some real no-shit-sherlock shit "wow that's so tragic for him" or you'd get into HC and made up shit territory, like me ^_^ teehee
Speaking of Aratani, i think he's a good example of someone who actually wants the patriarch seat. the pursuit of power is like his whole deal. Gets considerable focus and text(dialogue) acknowledgement. Minami's whole deal is being goofy, he just also so happens to have considerable power both physically and in the yakuza hierarchy..... bullshit as his role may very well be......... and it's only barely noticed. the pros of being a joke i spose. he's treated, and acts, too nonchalant to give me the impression of gunning for the top. with the existence of other Majimagumi men like Aratani to compare, that just exasperates it for me. he wants to be cool, and that's all
and yknow what..... the fun thing is...... is that Majima gets stories told about him. they get told all over. so much so that resident under-rock-dweller Kiryu hears about them. Minami doesn't know shit from fuck about his boss but i bet he eats those stories the fuck up. true or not, Majima's prowess speaks volumes on it's own... he's the Boss for a Reason..... stories get told about people who Matter. he'd totally be all over that. Wanna Be Somebodyism is terminal and it's got him by the balls. too bad he's not destined to be anybody more than a side character in this series!
oh well..... that's what i'm here for. side characters come get your heads smacked hands kissed and existence acknowledged, possibly all three if you're silly enough

7th Sea's approach to magic is interesting. You have several varients of magic, each with it's own rules. Porte lets you rip portals in reality to teleport yourself or objects you own, Sorte lets you alter fate, El Fuego Ardento allows you to control fire, Zerstorung allows you to speed up time to corrode materials rapidly, and Mirage allows you to see through and hide in mirrors. (I'm not going to talk about Faith, Shamanism, or the Old Ways, since they kinda undermine my point a bit).
Each of these forms of magic are extremely useful, but extremely dangerous. The most obvious case for both is Porte. Porte in the setting is used for navigation (allowing sailors to calculate longitude by looking at a clock at home), and to transfer messages rapidly between army divisions, but it is used for other purposes as well. Ever been late for work and thought "I wish I could just teleport there"? Ever lost your keys and thought "I wish I could teleport them into my hand"? You have the power, and it's just so easy to use it. It may be frivolous, but just once...
but there are problems. Porte is a magic that wants to be used. it twists the mind, increasing avarice and sloth in it's user the longer it is used. I want this, it's mine, I can take it whenever. I don't need to move, I can grab it from here. It twists the soul by virtue of existing.
and further, the use of Porte sorcery produces a kind of polution, for lack of a better word. holes that you open in reality close up after you release them, but the scars of those holes remain. every portal you open weakens the fabric. Larger portals are more dangerous; though it is rare, sometimes things escape through them. insectenoid demons from a time before humanity. sure, one portal probably won't let them in, but if you keep making them you will inevitably start attracting them. and if you open a permanent portal... yeah, that's a problem.
but it's so useful, it's so convenient. and because of that, despite the danger to humanity and to reality itself, it keeps being used endlessly.
all the Bargainer Sorceries are like this. Sorte is used by the ambitious and vindictive to get ahead in life, or to inflict misery on their enemies. Have you ever wanted to have just a little more? to have a little more money to pay off a debt, to have a little more influence when dealing with a lawsuit, to have a little more charisma and confidence when asking your crush out on a date? Sorte has you covered. Have you ever wished ill upon your neighbor? not wanted to kill them or anything, just mildly inconvenience them? make them trip on a crack, lose a bet, have their glasses crack a little? sorte can do that too.
A few twisted strands of fate won't do any harm, but an entire city full of Fate Witches each pursuing wealth and power and petty grudges can spell doom for the world. Every strand pulled to increase power increases the power of the whole city, so that anything that goes on there affects everyone else. And because of that, the vindictive curses, the "bad luck", spreads like a cancer across the city, and then across the nation, and across the continent and the world.
the others are like that too. Bargainer Sorcery is evil in 7th Sea not because of who grants it (though the fact that it came from demonic entities should raise some eyebrows), but rather because it encourages vice, harms society, and ultimately pollutes the world with dangerous mystical fallout. when the Vaticine Church of the Prophets say that it is evil, it is not mere dogma, it is a verifiable fact, simply by looking at the fallout of it's use on the nations that use it. it's users don't go to hell simply because they used it, but because using it corrupts them and turns them to evil (or because they opened their eyes while walking through a porte portal and got dragged into the abyss by the creatures within, but that's beside the point).
sorcery in 7th Sea is about what would actually happen if humans got there hands on magic, or super powers. some would use it for good, certainly; it is possible for a player character to play a heroic sorcerer and save the world with clever uses of magic. in fact, it is almost expected that any given party will have at least one sorcerer in it. but society as a whole would suffer under the weight of unearned power, the world being ruled by the exact kinds of people who should never be in power.
anyways, those are my thoughts.

Who are you really talking to online?
Who are we really talking to online is a great question that even parents need to ask their children on a daily basis. I know that during the past 9 months, there has been an increase of computer hacking activity; especially on non secure websites. I asked this very important question because there are more complaints being filed for identity theft than ever before. Who are we really talking to online?
This question needs to be asked by everyone because this is a non trusting society. Our society has changed so much that people are doing things to hurt others and getting away with it. Who are we supposed to converse with all the time? The answer is God!! Do you know that our friends online can become idols according to the Holy Bible? This is serious because this deprives us from having a relationship with God. According to Numbers 32:23 it says if you fail to do so, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. This means that anything that we do in our lives, God will punish us for the things that we do whether they are good or bad.
I want to be perfectly honest, when it comes to a non secure website, I really do not know exactly who I am talking to. This is sad because I am seeking out friends online and possibly a relationship. I know that I cannot rely on the internet as a tool for meeting people. I need to meet individuals face to face like everyone else in society. I just have a problem sometimes trying to find out who I am talking to online. I know that my friends leave messages and I also realize that people who have common sense will type a message with clarity and with common sense. The mistake that this person has made is using too many misspelled words as well as foul language.
When it comes to communicating with members of the opposite sex or others of the same sex, it is important to use good grammar and punctuations. This is a mistake that computer hackers make on a daily basis. A good blog is well thought out in advance. What makes a great blog? It is when it is planned out in advance. It is handwritten and research is sometimes required. When I am talking to my friends online, I sometime have a hard time trying to figure out whether it is a man or a woman. This is because women are using vulgarity and they are extremely angry with the men either online or in their own personal lives. This is very painful and it leads to emotional baggage.
The reason why this question is asked is because there are men who talk like women and in some cases; it is hard to tell if you are you are really talking to either gender. This can become very difficult for someone who is not very up to date with the latest trends and styles. According to 2nd Corinthians 5:10 it states that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body whether good or evil. This means that no matter what we do personally in our life while we are living, God will judge us for our deeds, works, as well as the things that we have done for Him. Who are we really talking to online is a very good question.
This means that we must pay attention to all hidden messages. This is because for every message that is twisted and confusing for average people, can be understood by someone that is gifted. This is a mistake that computer hackers make on a regular basis. They are talking like children, and these are actual adults with a child’s mind. According to 1st Corinthians 13:11 it indicates that; when I was a child I talked like a child, I spoke like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man I put childish things behind me. This means that when we become adults we become more responsible for our actions. When we become adults; all of the things that children do are far behind us.
Who are we really talking to online, I really do not know. It sometimes causes others to change their plans about spending time online period. I would rather read the Holy Bible than spend time online. It is getting to the point that; the world is going to come to an end and billions of people are not going to be prepared to meet God. I might have been communicating with a computer hacker or a member of law enforcement, but I know one thing; is that I am more prepared to seek out everyone who is responsible for scamming me out of my money. I might have to meet these individuals at the cross roads of life.
At least one thing, I was speaking to very dishonest people at the time, and they had taken advantage of me. Always pay attention to the grammar and what is being said. For instance, if there are a lot of misspelled words on a regular basis; I mean all of the time, and then you are talking to a computer hacker or someone who does not have good sense. It is a trap!!!!!!!! Pay attention to all bad grammar and punctuations on each sentence.

The Blue-Eyed Stranger.
NOTE: This is another Tales From The Crypt inspired tale, this one of course is similar to Don't Call Me Freak in which Dan Aykroyd is a horror host who tells a horror story, in this case it is another Were-Aykroyd themed tale involving a transformation.
-----------------------------------------
Horror stories have intrigued us for centuries and sometimes they are ones that are too good not to believe and those ones have the effect of coming true in more than one twisted way, the introduction to the story began with Dan Aykroyd sitting in a haunted library of sorts...'Hello fiendish fans, it's time for another story in the Aykroydology of Terror.' he picked up a book and he examined it. 'We are always told as kids to be aware of stranger danger, but what if the strangers we're supposed to be aware of, are closer than we think? Well that's what today's story is all about, I present to you...the Blue-Eyed Stranger.'
The pages of the book fluttered as the story kicked off...Nathan Forester and his companions were traveling at night with Corey and Oats on the streets of Nile Road, Auckland. Corey immediately suspected something was up as soon as they got to the point that he felt that they had gotten lost. And he was right on that one, as he and Oats looked around and they saw what appeared to be a male humanoid figure who looked like Canadian actor Dan Aykroyd, only of course he had blond hair and oddly entrancing blue eyes that made him look like he was some kind of ghost, everything about him was surreal yet enchanting and bewitching. ‘Couldn’t help but notice you’re lost, need some help?’ ‘Sure…’ ‘But shouldn’t we be careful around this man? Look at him, mommy always says be wary of strangers.’ ‘Me? A stranger? Nathan knows me, i’m Vic.’ ‘Vic Zeck?’ ‘Yes, the one who gave Nathan his powers.’ ‘You gave him his Were-Aykroyd powers?’ ‘Oh yes, I certainly did and I can help you.’
Corey and Oats felt extremely nervous as he walked closer to them and walked with them, he looked evil but yet he wasn’t…he seemed like the type of guy that would likely turn out to be a killer in most situations, yet he was charismatic enough to make you think that he wasn’t evil in the slightest, Vic smiled as Nathan told him where he and Mel and the microbes all lived…’Ah, gotcha, don’t ya worry i’ve got just the thing you need.’ He showed them around and took them down the paths, going across the street with them and looking both ways.
The duo listened to his instructions as Mel also listened to him, she learned a lot about him and his ways…of course she’d be trust-worthy of him considering that he had helped her before, a lot of what she had heard him say sounded like he knew his stuff. Corey recognized Vic from the previous Aykroyd related adventure. ‘You helped Nathan so you are definitely a good person in my books.’ Oats chimed.
“Why thank you, I knew you’d like this.”
“Vic, you’re amazing.”
They walked down the roads and they had gotten closer to where they were, only to turn around and see that Vic had disappeared. ‘Huh? Where did he go?’ Corey felt confused about this, wondering what happened to him. ‘He didn’t die did he?’ ‘I don’t think he did. He didn’t leave either, we didn’t see him leave either.’
“We didn’t see him leave, for all we know he might be still here.”
“Maybe he’s a ghost.”
Corey looked around and he saw Vic materialize next to them again…’How are you doing that?’ ‘All members of Nathan’s Aykroyd sibling group have powers, even me.’ ‘Oh yeah.’ ‘Mine is that I can hypnotize people and mess with their minds. I can give you an ASMR treatment like no other.’ Vic smirked a little as he told them all about himself, and his words began to have an effect on Nathan as he began to have visions.
He had strange visions of becoming Dan Aykroyd again…of becoming the Were-Aykroyd persona of his, i.e becoming Dan. In one vision he could talk to the spirit of Aykroyd himself and understand what he was explaining about and in another he saw a version of his Were-Aykroyd persona with long hair and a mouth full of sharp teeth, this version of Dan had blood dripping from the side of his mouth as if he had killed someone. ‘What on earth did you do to that person?’ ‘That person doesn’t believe I should be allowed to use my powers, so I killed him and am drinking his blood.’ Nathan specifically remembered that line from the vision and the blood drinking scene which was oddly surreal in a Lynchian way.
Another vision had Nathan looking in the mirror, as he did…he was pulling at his face like in Poltergeist to reveal Dan Aykroyd underneath, and in the vision next to that one, it was like the Michael Jackson music video ‘Thriller’ only with him possessing Vic’s piercing blue eyes. He didn’t understand these but he knew this meant Vic was planning on doing something to him, no…not in a sexual way.
He gasped as he saw Vic take on a transparent form and go down his body, possessing him in the possess which caused his stomach to gurgle a bit as his skin paled and his body slowly became more lithe in terms of its build, as his arms lengthened and his hands enlarged, his clothing slowly developing the same blue and yellow tints and colors as his as his stomach slimmed and his shoulders altered, broadening a little as his back followed suit. He panicked as he witnessed his own transformation and blushed when his rear plumped up a little, while these Aykroydian transformations were always written as kind of sensual, he couldn’t help that, they were suggested to be this way by the people on the Simp Central server.
His neckline altered as his brown hair turned from its normal color to a bright blond, his eyebrows altered as his eyes widened, turning from brown to blue, his nose broadened as he elevated in height to 6’1 and a cleft appeared down the middle of his nose, his lips plumped up as a chrome plating formed on one of his teeth. As his features shifted to become Aykroydian as he did his voice, making him look and sound like Vic himself. When his transformation finished he had become a lot like Vic in appearance and voice but he was still himself, the real Vic materialized next to him once more. ‘Told ya i’ve got lots of tricks to show you!’ ‘How did you do that?’ ‘Told ya I've got powers.’
“Why yes, you did and impressive ones at that.”
“Good…glad you agree on that.”
Vic smiled as he hugged Nathan and admired his own handy-work, he was quite proud of what Nathan had done, he and Mel along with Corey and Oats continued on their walk back to Nile Road and after a couple of left turns and heading all the way back to their house on Nile Road, and once they arrived back at Nile, Oats and Corey and Mel got into the bedroom and relaxed, they had dinner when they got home and they relaxed for a bit, as Nathan enjoyed being Vic for a little bit longer.
“Thanks for everything, Vic.”
“Yeah, it was fun…”
‘It was real nice getting to know you, Vic…hey, where did you go?’ Corey spluttered as he turned around to see that Vic had completely disappeared. It tur The real Vic disappeared, but he told Nathan that he’d back to see him again, and they had a karaoke party at the house after dinner and they emailed Jill about their unusual and spooky adventure and about the ‘blue eyed stranger’, they had befriended, and when it was time for them to get ready to bed, Corey picked out a microbial friend to sleep with him and Oats as Oats put on his night-clothes and Corey put on his bat themed pajamas, and when they got into bed, they snuggled up and had sweet dreams, their adventure for the night had ended.
But there is more to come though…it then cut back to Dan Aykroyd…’So there you have it boils and ghouls, a lesson in how sometimes the strangers we’re supposed to stay away from are actually much closer than we think they are, and sometimes there’s more to them than we think as well. Corey and Oats certainly learned that in a twisted way, and Nathan got to meet up with an old fiend. And remember, not all stories here are scary and horrifying, although the majority of protagonists in these stories tend to be so terror-ible, sometimes they can surprise you with just how ghoulishly good they can be. I hope you enjoyed this little scary story, for there is more to come.’
