Main Verse (plot event) // A Dreadful Affair
The temple was a shell of its former self - literally. Not an indication that it once stood remained, reduced to a pile of rubble that might as well have come from a rockslide over an ancient, fallen temple.
With the crystal coconut also shattered into a pile of glittering dust at the center of uprooted floor tiles, the spell that had bound each war criminal to the island was finally lifted...too bad the majority of them had met their fate within the temple - if not at the hands of Donkey Kong and the Koopa King beforehand, then definitely in the crush afterwards.
All except one. One who guarded the outside of the temple. One that Bowser had launched across the entire span of the island in one vicious shell slam.
From the safety barrier of the treeline, red eyes swiveled from the retreating Kong who had now presumably turned loose to the Koopa sitting almost defeatedly in the center of the place that would serve as the other defectors' tombs, though he had not a tear to shed for them. Weaklings would die - such was the way of the world.
Which was exactly why he needed to flex his new gain in broken boundaries to make sure one of said weaklings met a dreadful end.
"...see ya soon, Little Donkey~" And almost as suddenly as the red eyes had sparked to life in the heavy foliage - they were gone the next along with the sound of heavy footing crashing through the jungle.
//public service announcement that for a stint of plot related things to come in my main verse, Dread Kong is available to interact with for a limited time. For verse-intended purposes, he is a war criminal of the Jungle Kingdom, having used to be a high ranking general in the army until he defected and brought many Kongs with him to start a new kingdom. After his defeat and capture (along with the other defectors that are now presumed dead with the collapse of the temple) he was sent to endlessly patrol the island where the crystal coconut resided, though his position was on the island itself and not within the temple. Since his punishment was enforced with magic tied to the coconut, its destruction means he's free to wander again, and he's out for revenge.

so like i said when i was conceptualizing and outlining ddao there was a drastic change to a plot point in chapter 12 which is where it diverges from the og bad ending (tm) plot. but just know it turns stsg into full on yanderes. context soon to be added. ripmc is confined to an area of the estate, kept isolated. they just want to keep her safe. at least that's what stsg always tell her. the kids can see her freely but that's it, except every time megumi visits he gets angrier and angrier. not even shoko is allowed to see her whenever. i think stsg would...reward her with shoko visits. except it's not really rewarding because it's not like she really resists in the first place. stsg know that ripmc is absolutely miserable and slowly deteriorating but the memory of [redacted] always wins out. i think they'd also get paranoid she'd run except that would literally never happen which only results in a tightening of her leash. gojo makes it extremely clear that he and geto are only still jujutsu sorcerers because they know ripmc likes the people they are when they're helping others despite their insincere intentions. they're helping people! and ripmc is helping them! who knows what would happen if she wasn't there. think of all the people they've helped.
