Welcome to the Dream SMP Sixteenth Day Event!

This is an event designed to celebrate the Dream SMP's iconic 16th day of the month! Use a personalized prompt to create piece of art, writing, or something else that can be shared on the 16th!

Sign-up: CLOSED

This event is primarily focused on the DREAM SMP STORYLINE AND CHARACTERS, NOT the content creators. This is mainly because I don't know enough about the content creators to give prompts for them. However, if you can find a way to link the prompt you receive to the content creators instead of their characters, feel free to do so!

This event also TOLERATES ALL DREAM SMP CHARACTERS. Any negativity towards other participants is cause for a block. If you find that the content reblogged here makes you uncomfortable, you're very welcome to unfollow this event blog while still participating yourself!

How to participate:

Fill out the linked sign-up form to identify your Dream SMP interests. This information will determine what kind of prompt you get for creating your own work.

Approximately a week before the 16th, you'll get two asks from this blog in your inbox, each ask containing a brief prompt based on your interests. Choose one of the prompts. The reason there are two prompts is just to give you a choice in case you don't like one of them; you don't have to complete them both! If you strongly dislike both of your prompts, let me know so I can send more.

Use your choice of prompt to create a piece of art, writing, or something else—whatever you like! But remember, don't post it until the 16th of the month.

This is NOT a gift exchange, as all the prompts will come straight from me, the event-runner, NOT from other participants. This means that there is no expectation of quality, nor is there a minimum or maximum amount you can create. Works are only assumed to be small. You could write an entire novel or a single sentence; you could draw a 100-page comic or a 1-minute sketch; it's all welcome! You could even drop out at any time. Filling out the sign-up form only means that you will receive a prompt; it does not mean that you have to participate. This event is supposed to be as stress-free as possible.

On the 16th of the month, post your work! This could be as a direct response to the ask with your chosen prompt, or it could be a separate post. Either way, just remember to @ this blog and use the tag #sixteenthdayevent so I can reblog anything you create!

At one point Elros gets cornered during battle and bites and claws his way out

At several points Elrond gets fed up with opening boxes in Lindon and just shreds the things with his bare hands to get the stuff inside

Gil-Galad doesn’t know how peredhel bodies work and at this point he is too afraid to ask

Gil-Galad frequently writes to Cirdan all throughout his kingship in Lindon, and visits whenever he can make an excuse for it

Gil-Galad was mostly raised by Cirdan the Shipwright, and unofficially considers the elf his father

Elrond learns of Gil-Galad & Cirdan’s found fam relationship, calls his king stupid, then immediately orchestrates a reason for Cirdan to visit for a week so Gil can show his city to his dad

Gala Event late entrance

After months of delay, with work piling up back at home, Skarla finally dresses up again and heads back to the gala. While there's drama stiring up in the room, the participants near the entrance room can hear the sound of not just one, but two people talking. One notably being Skarla, but the other one is male in tone, and they got louder as they approach the main door. The voices stop with a moment of silence, then suddenly, the doors fling open with a fabulously fashioned Weavile running into the gala with pure excitement.

"Oh, don't worreh my dear partna, I've been on mah best behavior before ya gut here!" Evan: "I hope you're right, because I wanna have a nice evening and I don't want it ruined." Hey everyone, I know it's been a very long time since I've made a proper introduction, I got pretty side tracked with other things along with a burnout of motivation. But now I've made a proper entrance and brought in a new character in the form of Evan, Skarla's colleague! He'll be available for the gala up until he is fully available for the blog. Here's his gala ref sheet for the occasion btw, and hopefully these two will get to meet so many cool new faces! -Mega (p.s Skarla's design is getting a slight touch up, so expect a new ref for her coming soon too)

please consider how you engage with aaron bushnell's death. you may react to it as you will, but it's crucial to remember that his death was specifically a call to action. it was not meant solely to shock but to draw attention to a vast moral hypocrisy: that to many, a soldier dying in a campaign backed by the U.S. government is noble, even if the soldier kills innocents to do so, even if the cause is morally bankrupt--but this? this is insanity. a man taking his own life, on his own terms, in an attempt to help others while hurting nobody else, is somehow less rational and more horrifying than the mass killing of civilians.

of course aaron's death was horrific. but as he said beforehand, it is realistically no more horrific than what's happening in gaza. if we can't stomach this, then why can we stomach children being bombed? thousands being starved? for all that self immolation is, it brings death in a matter of minutes. it is a fraction of the amount of pain, fear, and grief that people in gaza are experiencing. it's just that we are able to quantify it. and this tiny, quantifiable sliver of horror is still so unbelievably awful. how can anyone bear to think about anything else when this horror is happening a millionfold in palestine? this is the question aaron bushnell was asking. and he wanted you to face it, head-on, watching him burn to death.

I've been seeing people make fanart. minimalist graphics to sell on t-shirts. to commodify his death, to mythologize it not a day afterwards, is not only in poor taste but a hindrance to his message. the answer is not commodification, nor is it defeatism, nor is it rejoicing in his death. if you want to honor aaron's legacy, take action. channel your horror and your outrage into making a material change. this wasn't about him. this was about palestine. remember that it was always about palestine.

• a teenage Turgon once saw Maedhros lift both Maglor and Celegorm at once after they jumped on their eldest brother, the teenage Turgon then proceeded to jump on Fingon and flatten his older brother, who is a head shorter than him.

• Turgon, Aredhel, and Argon inherited their father’s height

• Fingon inherited not his father’s height but his mother’s grace and lithe body type

• All of Fingon’s siblings have flattened him several times

• Argon always greets his oldest brother by flattening him (its the first thing he does when he gets reembodied).

• The first time Fingolfin tried to kiss Anairë he just went for it and ended up headbudding her. Anairë always tells this story at family dinners post-canon.

• When Finwë went with their feanorian cousins to formenos after their half-uncle threatened Fingolfin with a sword; Turgon, Aredhel, and Argon took it as a damning sign of favoritism to the line of Miriel.

• Fingon always defends Finwë’s accidental Line-Of-Miriel-Favoritism in front of others, but never calls himself a scion of Finwë (Maedhros won’t realize this until long after the pre-darkening days)

• When Turgon starts courting Elenwë, his parents (embarrassed and amused respectively) tell him the headbutt-kiss story.

• Turgon still headbutts Elenwë (Idril ends up headbudding Tuor too, it travels down the line to even Elrond and Celebrian, to Elrond’s horror).

Are you a student who is unable to donate to Palestine, but still want ways to show your support?

Me too! Unfortunately, searching up ways for students who can't drive, spend money, or drop school for a week to show solidarity for Palestine just comes up with "centrist" (if not blatantly pro-israel) articles for teachers telling them how to stay neutral during discussions with students. So! Here are some ways that I've thought of to bring pro palestine sentiment into your school and community! You are more than encouraged to add on any ideas of your own!

Wear shirts, pins, or anything outwardly pro palestine. If you can't find something, make it.

Email your representatives. Email Congress. Email the White House, or whatever your country's equivalent would be. Let the people in charge know you want a ceasefire

Talk to your local library about holding an educational night about the genocide, and/or about Palestinian culture.

Talk to your peers. Find people who share your views. Create a fuss together.

Talk to your teachers about it. Having an authority figure on your side could make things so much easier for you.

Make stickers, posters, pamphlets, etc to put up around your school, town/city, anywhere you can.

Educate yourself on anti-palestine talking points and how to refute them in a calm and logical manner. (Palestinian Toolkit is a great website for that)

Speak up! It's fucking scary, but if you can, don't let people's bigotry go unchecked. (You can use knowledge from the last point to make it easier to talk)

But also, know when to give up. It sucks, but not everyone is worth wasting your time debating. Some people won't change their mind no matter what.

OP isn't exaggerating. There are countless of videos of the IDF shooting at crowds of Palestinians trying to find food for themselves and their starving families. The UN World Food Programme even suspended delivering aid because the IDF won't stop shooting people.
