(Followers event) Might aswell start calling me the pjo asker, since I had my share of angst already, how about some Leo Valdez x child of Ares Reader, enemies to lovers Riordanverse and Headcannon or one shot form

Plot: Leo and reader always had a disliking towards eachother, part of it being due to their dads own dislike towards other but soon starts to like eachother s company then finally turns to lovers.

(This was rushed, sorry about that, you can ignore the plot part and get your own idea from the start)

it was easy for leo to automatically stereotype you based on just finding out what cabin you belong to alone

he hated how loud the ares cabin was — it wasn’t like the apollo cabin where Leo could listen to its soft Melodie’s while he worked, it was loud thumps and yelling disturbing his work zone

that caused him to always be snarky and passive aggressive towards the majority of your cabin, grown some guts after going on a quest and finding out he can set things of fire

you were clarisse’s second in command always ready to defend your cabins pride at a moments notice

it was always when clarisse wasn’t around when Leo decided to pick a fight with you — saying some backhanded things about ares kids

don’t get Leo wrong, he grew out of hating all ares kids phase in the first few weeks of arriving at camp

he just started to hate you

and you had already hated him

that caused a lot of tension between the two cabins as a whole and especially got in the way whenever capture the flag was involved

it was nearly a crucial unspoken rule that the ares and hephaestus cabin never be on the same team unless you wanted to lose

until someone made the mistake of doing just that

“Oh of course, you know exactly what to do! It’s not like you’re known for your brains,” Leo taunts while you were making plans and putting on gear.

“As if you could come up with anything any better!” you retort, “The only thing you’re known for is spontaneously combusting.”

“¡Cállate, pedazo de mierda!”

“Nothing, just that you’re the most pleasant person to be around!”

that wasn’t great for Leo though since he always mutters under his breath about how it’s getting tiring always having to argue with you and hating how’s he grown to get used to and admire the face that yells back at him

“Why do you even have anything against me?” you glare, walking around Bunker 9.

now Leo has to be extra careful about what he says when you’re around afraid that you’ll find out about the feelings he’s deemed stupid for you

however sometimes he forgets just how many people can understand you and him when these bits of banter echo across camp

so some campers have decided to take it upon themselves to translate every single thing Leo has said about you on a piece of paper and deliver it on your pillow — there were dates and everything

it seemed to be the one thing that caused you to try have a civil conversation with Leo with him actually returning your civility

“So what was this about you saying I have a pretty face?” you remark, flipping through the packet.

“That,” Leo pauses, “That was when the lighting was extremely good that day.”

“Uh-huh, yeah. Okay,” you nod along sarcastically.

the whole thing was extremely satire since both of you had too much pride to formally apologize to each other so it came in the form of not screaming across camp at each other

it was the best time your vocal cords have had in a while

not for the rest of the campers though

the yelling was practically a common occurrence and was a part of their daily schedule at this point so the silence that should’ve been comforting was now ominous

it got to the point where they all had a makeshift meeting where they had to figure out where both of you were and make sure nothing happened

until then they saw you walking out of the forest — presumably from bunker 9 — poking fun at each other and laughing good-naturedly

and so, the Aphrodite kids won the bet against the Apollo kids and gained a shit ton of drachmas

How many of you get excited when you see a monarch butterfly? If you do, did you get excited as a kid, or is the excitement a function of their possibly pending extinction? If you do not, can you imagine a world without monarch butterflies?

Excerpt from this story from E&E News/Politico:

Judgment day approaches for the monarch butterfly.

Bound by a court settlement, the Fish and Wildlife Service is supposed to decide by early December whether the monarch warrants listing as threatened or endangered. Although the agency misses many Endangered Species Act deadlines, it appears determined to meet this one after several years of study.

“We wanted to make sure that we have all the best science available … and we wanted to make sure that we were able to gather all that information and make a quality decision,” said Nicole Alt, director of FWS’ Center for Pollinator Conservation.

With the migratory butterfly passing through dozens of states, a decision to list the species could be accompanied by the designation of an expansive critical habitat. Combined with other regulatory implications, this could make the long-delayed monarch listing call one of the most consequential actions in the history of the ESA. It also appears likely, some monarch experts say, given the bleak population trends that led FWS to conclude in 2020 that “monarch viability is declining and is projected to continue declining over the next 60 years.”

Despite the dire circumstances, a campaign to help the monarch butterfly has been advancing on multiple fronts but without a unified commander in chief. Rather, the monarch’s allies march under different flags that reflect a dispersed approach toward species conservation. Some study the insect, some set aside habitat and some tinker with new tools, all without reference to a species recovery plan that an ESA listing would mandate.

Consider:

From an urban office building, a program administered by the University of Illinois, Chicago’s Energy Resources Center has recruited energy companies, state departments of transportation and counties into conserving hundreds of thousands of acres as butterfly habitat on rights of way, such as the medians between roads.

On sprawling Fort Cavazos — formerly Fort Hood — in Texas, biologists prowl the grounds in search of adult monarchs as well as eggs and larva. Since 2017, they estimate they have collected information from more than 10,000 tagged adult monarchs and forwarded this data to another team of collaborators with the Monarch Watch program based at the University of Kansas.

From her Denver office, Alt oversees four geographically scattered FWS staffers and collaborates with others in and out of government. With yet another allied group called Monarch Joint Venture, for instance, the Center for Pollinator Conservation is supporting studies of drones and artificial intelligence in measuring milkweed distribution on wildlife refuges.

And, scattered as they are, the various monarch teams, researchers and advocates periodically gather for a meeting of the minds, as they did in the summer of 2022 for a first-of-its-kind Capitol Hill butterfly summit where Interior Secretary Deb Haaland announced establishment of Alt’s pollinator center.

“It’s really been exciting to see the level of interest from lots of different sectors,” Alt said, adding that “different people want to work in different ways and in different spaces … and in the vast majority of situations they are all advocating for the same thing.”

Some conservation groups, however, want to see a more urgent focus on the problem, saying Congress needs to dramatically increase funding to help the monarchs truly recover. In letters sent last week to House and Senate appropriators, the Center for Biological Diversity and other environmental groups called on lawmakers to provide $100 million annually to restore 1 million acres of pollinator habitat in this country each year and another $30 million to preserve forests in Mexico where some of the butterflies spend their winters.

The groups noted how people over generations have heralded the black-and-orange butterfly’s “spectacular beauty and epic, life-affirming migrations.”

“Dedicating $100 million a year to monarch conservation gives these beloved butterflies a fighting chance at survival,” one letter said.

Take care, and follow my advice to the letter ]

1) first of all, you should NEVER but NEVER go to New York City, there's no telling if you might run into the "friendly" beings that inhabit the area, and I'm not talking about the muggers, rapists, pedophiles, corrupt cops, and all that crap in general that is unfortunately plaguing the whole world.

No no no no, I'm talking about the beings who are in the shadows, the inhabitants who will never go to the surface in the daytime unless absolutely necessary (or they feel so bored that they will inevitably go out into the city to do whatever foolish things a teenager with full energy can do), those who are "heroes" of the city, but are not recognized as such by its inhabitants.

if for some unknown reason, you inevitably HAVE to go to New York, then you'll have to keep reading this guide (how unlucky do you have to be to go anyway to a place that has a red flag stuck in its name?) :

2) you will always have to go during the day to do your business (buy groceries or things that are needed in your apartment/home, visit a relative or do the typical things that the average person does), try not to be outside the safety of your home when it's getting dark, because you can be a walking target of anyone with bad intentions in that case.

Seriously, no one wants to see some kidnapping/murder/assault case on TV on a Monday morning, because it's the worst way to start the week.

3) Please, BUT PLEASE PLEASE avoid alleys, or, just any place with very little lighting or population, that also makes you a potential target for muggers, kidnappers, ill-intentioned drunks, violent drug addicts with a very fucked up debt or The Foot Clan, or any other weird cult with equally weird names (seriously, why in some way or another does MC always encounter some weirdo in the alleys <<cof cof cof, purple dragons, a sick motherfucker, or any other weirdo you can imagine cof cof cof>> I mean, how the fuck can you be so unlucky my dear friend? ), Instead, opt to go to busier streets, with more lighting, or with some police presence (they don't do shit ever, but it can give you a sense of calm and security, even if it's minimal and doesn't prevent your paranoia).

Ah, being in alleys, dangerous places, or very dimly lit streets also increases the odds of encountering these aforementioned heroes.

(But we both know that really has to be the last thing you want, right?)

4) if you somehow have to ENTER a DARK STREET or LITTLE LIT street in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT for whatever reason, you should at least be prepared for whatever happens, either by having your keys in a certain position in your hand to be used as a weapon, or maybe you can use your self-defense skills (if you took classes in that, of course), if not, then quickly think of something that can help you in a desperate life or death situation, I guess, apply some of what you saw in action movies, because really, nothing good can happen once you're in New York (especially with all those weird... Mutants? Loose on the streets, but arguably it would be better if you were attacked by some drunk or drug addict, in which case, if something serious happens to the guy, you can use the excuse of self-defense, and they can find some trace DNA if you scratched his skin with your fingernails to track the person).

5) Well, if you have a part time job during the afternoon/evening or whatever, you should make sure to NEVER leave any valuables in plain sight both inside work, and on the way home, remember all will not always be quiet, the whole scenario can change overnight and cause you to be seen on the news as someone missing/dead (this applies in real life too, there are sick people on the streets, be careful people, because from one second to the next you can lose everything, or they can lose you), be aware of your surroundings, one wrong step and you will fall on the sidewalk.

(Seriously, take into account your safety, nobody would like to suddenly receive a message from the police/an acquaintance notifying the death of a loved one, at least I could not bear to know that a relative or person close to me died or disappeared overnight, or that I was the missing/murdered person).

If for some reason you know turtles, then follow my advice:

1) Never let Donatello repair any object of yours, there is no telling if he can put any trackers or bugs inside (or both).

2) walk carefully being close to Leonardo, he is more than he looks, and never touch any of his nerves, try to keep the peace especially with him, because you don't know for sure how he will act if you pull the wrong thread, and you don't want to know that, do you?

3) flatter Miguel angel, you should not be so affectionate, but don't be so cold to him either, be seen as a friend, but not a close one.

Make sure you let him know that you are not derogatory towards him, and never, but NEVER say anything hurtful about anything about him in front of his family, you will be in big trouble, and I honestly don't think you will get out of that situation unscathed, not considering that these guys are attached to their family and, with a very good strength.

Oh by the way, there's also a chance you'll end up in debt overnight, and you don't want to know how many zeros are in debt (funny, isn't it?).

4) Raphael, oh sweet and dangerous Raphael.

Where should I start?

NEVER let him overstep your boundaries, don't let him get too attached to your hip, be nice to him, but keep your distance, he's a nice guy, but we don't want him to show you the other side of his love do we?

si por algún motivo desconocido, inevitablemente TIENES que ir a New York, entonces tendrás que seguir leyendo esta guía (¿que tan desafortunado tienes que ser para ir de todos modos a un lugar en donde tiene pegado la bandera roja en el nombre?)

2) tendrás que ir siempre de día a hacer tus cosas (comprar comestibles o cosas que hacen falta en tu departamento/hogar, visitar algún familiar o hacer las típicas cosas que una persona promedio hace), intenta no estar fuera de la seguridad de tu hogar cuando esté anocheciendo, por que puedes ser un objetivo andante de cualquier persona con malas intenciones en ese caso.

En serio, nadie quiere ver en la televisión algún caso de secuestro/asesinato/asalto un lunes en la mañana, por que es la peor manera de empezar la semana.

Ah, el estar en los callejones, lugares peligrosos, o calles muy poco iluminadas también aumenta las probabilidades de encontrarte con estos susodichos héroes.

4) si de algún modo tienes que ENTRAR en un CALLEJÓN OSCURO o en una calle POCO ILUMINADA en MEDIO DE LA NOCHE sea por el motivo que sea, al menos deberías estar preparado para cualquier cosa que suceda, ya sea teniendo tus llaves en una posición determinada en tu mano para ser utilizadas como un arma, o tal vez puedas utilizar tus habilidades de defensa personal (si es que tomaste clases de eso, claro está), si no, entonces piensa rápidamente en algo que te pueda ayudar en una situación desesperada de vida o muerte, yo que se, aplica algo de lo que viste en las películas de acción, por qué realmente, nada bueno puede pasar una vez que estás en New York (sobre todo con todos esos raros ¿Mutantes? Sueltos en las calles, pero se puede decir que sería mejor que seas atacado por algún borracho o drogadicto, en dado caso, si le sucede algo grave al tipo, puedes utilizar la excusa de defensa personal, y pueden encontrar algún rastro de ADN si le rasguñaste la piel con tus uñas para rastrear a la persona)

5) Bien, si tienes un trabajo de medio tiempo durante la tarde/noche o lo que sea, debes asegurarte de NUNCA dejar a la vista algún objeto de valor tanto dentro del trabajo, como de camino a casa, recuerda que no siempre todo estará tranquilo,todo el escenario puede cambiar de la noche a la mañana y hacer que seas visto en las noticias como alguien desparecido/muerto (esto se aplica también en la vida real, hay enfermos sueltos por las calles, cuidense mucho gente, por qué de un segundo a otro puedes perderlo todo,o pueden perderte a tí), estate atento a tu alrededor, un paso en falso y caeras en la acera.

(En serio, tomen en cuenta su seguridad, a nadie le gustaría recibir repentinamente un mensaje de la policía/ algún conocido notificando la muerte de un ser querido, por lo menos yo no podría soportar saber que algún familiar o persona cercana a mi murió o desapareció de la noche a la mañana, o haber Sido yo la persona desaparecida/asesinada)

Si por algún motivo conoces a las tortugas, entonces sigue mis consejos:

1) Jamás dejes que Donatello repare algún objeto tuyo, no se sabe si puede ponerle algún rastreador o micrófono dentro (o ambos)

2) camina con cuidado estando cerca de Leonardo, es más de lo que aparenta, y nunca toques alguno de sus nervios, intenta mantener la paz sobre todo con el, ya que no sabes con certeza como actuará si tiras el hilo equivocado, y no quieres saber eso ¿verdad?

3) halaga a Miguel angel, no debes ser tan cariñoso, pero tampoco seas tan frío con él, se visto como un amigo, pero no uno cercano.

Asegúrate de hacerle saber que no eres despectivo con él, y nunca, pero NUNCA digas algo hiriente sobre cualquier cosa de su persona en frente de su familia, estarás metido en un gran problema, y no creo sinceramente que salgas ileso de esa situación, no teniendo en cuenta que estos chicos son apegados a su familia y, con una muy buena fuerza.

Ah cierto, también hay una posibilidad de que termines endeudado de la noche a la mañana, y no quieres saber cuántos ceros hay en la deuda (curioso, ¿no es así?)

Pues hay les va el testimonio y la mala experiencia que tuve con jaja y de todo lo que viví

Está chica fue una de las primeras amigas que tuve al llegar a Tumblr, después de que la chica con la que trabajaba en el proyecto de "Lovedau" (ahora llamado after adversity y remasterizado por mi) dejará el proyecto por completo en mis manos por problemas que tuvo con varías artistas de aquí y también porque no quería seguirlo.

La primera red flag que ví hay🚩

fué que siempre la funaban o sacaban polémica sobre ella, siempre yo no sé si yo era bien estúpido en ese tiempo o que problema tenía yo para no darme cuenta de que si tenía polémicas fué por algo, pero siempre salía a defenderla y apoyarla, creo que si me tocó un poco ver la funa qué tuvo con sirius-night09 pero no me metí mucho en éso y pues esa si la dejé pasar

La segunda red flag qué también ví fué 🚩

que siempre decía cosas muy ,como decirlo valla, cuestionables de @/zaikobt al chile eso se me hacía bien hipócrita porque el su blog era muy "hay si mi amiga" "quiero mucho a mi amiguita" pero cuando se enojaba con ella te decía otras cosas, pero en ese tipo yo no conocía a zaiko y no sabía bien ni quién era,así que éso lo deje pasar porque dije "bueno cualquier pelea de amigos, entendible"

Después de ese tiempo escuchando las mrdas que decía de las personas y de su amiga, fuí haciéndome amigó del jóven zaiko,y yo tipo "wey no es mal pedo como dise está chica,osea lo contrario", hay fué todo el cuestionamiento hacía ella,y fué también dónde empezaron las funas a zaiko y a Nadia por parte de ella y mandraken y al chile en esa funa si me puse del lado de zaiko y puse a todos en el contexto de la funa,y en esa funa jaja se puso a echarle la culpa a zaiko de todo "que por su culpa se sentía mal" "que era la causante de sus crisis de anciedad, bien dramática cuando literalmente causó que zaiko borrara su blog anterior y que se despidiera de redes un rato y ella de lo más normal del mundo

La tercera red flag 🚩

Fue cuando la gota que colmó el vaso, hagan de cuenta que soy como un vasito que a cada minuto le cae una gotita y ella ya había echado muchas gotitas y la última fue donde si me molesté

Un día saqué un sketch de un fanchild de Fp! Frisk x killer sans (Levi pará ser exacto) y está no dudó en mandarme mensaje por Whatsapp y decirme en pocas palabras esto "que el shipp era p*d0filia,que eso estaba mal" "que Sirius era una muy mala persona y que le destruyó la vida"... Y siendo sinceros... ¿Quién le destruyó la vida a quien? Porque está claro que a ella no,eso es evidente

En todos los mensajes que me mandó hablándome de eso, mientras yo estaba en mi hora de almuerzo en mi trabajo... Obviamente lo único que quería era comer y estar en calma, pero me estreso más de lo que estaba y la gotita que hizo qué el vaso se colmará y rompiera de tanta presión fue "si sigues así ya no te voy a apoyar" "que hagas y apoyes eso me lastima"... Bro ligeramente yo estaba existiendo.. QUÉ MRDA!? ,Al chile sus mensajes eran pura manipulación pará que hiciera lo que ella quería y créanme que se reconocer una persona narcisista, manipuladora con un autoestima de la cagada pero con un ego hasta arriba

Me molesté y le dije que la verdad me valía verga, qué hiciera lo que quisiera, pero que a mí no me hiba a limitar y decir lo que puedo hacer y no puedo hacer , porque no era nadie pará decírmelo,si ni a mí madre le hago tanto casó en eso, por se lo haría a ella?, incluso hasta le dije y si quieres,hasta aquí la dejamos,tu por tu lado con tus oc's y yo con los míos,y si me dejas de apoyar pues qué padre,yo vete como le hago pero hasta aquí llegó

Tuve una crisis nerviosa, ataques de irá y estrés el restó de la tardé y la noche por sus jaladas, cuando le dije eso empezó con sus "perdóname,yo no intentaba hacerte eso" "yo solo te decía que estaba mal" "eres mi única amiga en el internet"

Bro .. literalmente que pedo contigo!? , Literalmente perdí gustó por el dibujo por tu culpa y ya no puedo confiar en casi nadie, literalmente me dejaste en claro que es lo malo de ser bueno... Pero claro soy tu único amigó en el internet no?...

Pará ella todos somos sus chivos expiatorios,sin un Judas no hay un Cristo,sin Pandoras no hay dramas, osea siempre todos cargaremos la culpa por los actos que ella hacía y provocaba porque,y con ella así será siempre, siempre alguien cargará la culpa y eso no es justo porque hacerce la víctima le sale muy bien a ella, mientras tanto las otras personas si salen afectadas y dañadas por sus actos, porque realmente hay mucha gente afectada por su culpa,por su inmadurez y por escudarse en qué "es qué tengo anciedad y depreción"

AMIGA ESO NO ES UNA EXCUSA PARA HACERLE DAÑÓ A ALGUIEN MAS, PORQUE TE EXCUSAS CON ELLO PENSANDO QUE SALDRÁ IMPUNE DE TODO!? UNA PERSONA QUE ESTA CONCIENTE DE LO QUE TIENE BUSCA AYUDA Y TRATA DE BUSCAR SOLUCIONES O INCLUSO LAS PERSONAS QUE TIENEN ELLO NO SABEN QUE LO TIENEN

Así que éso nunca será una excusa pará salir impune y hacerle la vida imposible a le gente con tu simple presencia
