So just finished watching the ep so review. Spoils ahead:
So the episode was ok to me, solid 6/10 one of the better episodes which since this was supposed to be an "extravagant" ep why does it got better quality than the main eps, idk Viv has her moments like this ep and other eps its a train wreck in writing ect.
Mammon worked on my nerves, from design to his movements, personality ALL of him was annoying, which props for an annoying Villian but its Villian I never want to see back again and he's hinted for some sort of return.
Side tangent: Mammon is like the how many-ith Villian to get a return ep/hint at one. It was 1st cherubs, then dorks, then stella/ice twink, striker/crimson now Mammon & according to the leaked storyboards a ghost guy that tries to talk IMP into off-ing themselves... its a flipping lot and cherubs & dorks seem to be forgotten dispite dorks knowing & having hard evidence they exist, flip Viv chill it with your Villian of the week cos its way too many now.
Anyway, Blitz didn't need to be in this ep besides the flashback. Ozzie got him to talk Fizz out of being Mammon's puppet but ultimately Ozzie spoke him out of it & gave him courage to quit/confront Mammon. Even Blitz being a bodyguard/killing people for Fizz could've been any imp. Blitz is starting to feel like Steven from SU, in every ep even tho the ep doesn't need him/ the episode surrounds topics a wee child shouldn't be in (i.e Lapis trauma dumping on Steven & he a child isn't really equipped to handle that situation).
My fave part of this ep was Ozzie and Fizz. Ya'll I legit prayed Viv wouldn't mess these two up and my prayers were answered. Absolutely a joy these two were. Fizz especially what a darling. Loved that small scenes with him and the deaf imp child, l dont know sign language but it looked genuine animated and was just sweet moments.
From their interactions, Fizz's panic attacks/self doubt felt & were genuine... I felt that as someone that has panic attacks from high stress on my studies/life. It was just handled well. Fizz feeling less than and needing to prove himself from 1. his past 2. his appearance, that accident affected his self image/worth so much (why I felt him forgiving Blitz was too hastily done but I digress) & 3. him doing this Mammon contest still to gain/earn Ozzie's love for him cos Fizz believes Ozzie only sticks around because of this fame Mammon gave Fizz. Ozzie finally saying what he loves about Fizz was lovely, wanted that in the 1st ep but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Their song was... I didn't like it BUT the message in it was beautiful. Lastly Fizz saying fuck you to Mammon from the courage/strength Ozzie gave him was a nice send off... also Ozzie saying he loves Fizz ah ngl that made me smile agh I just love them. I want to see them more than the Stolitz show but thats only a wish. Props Viv, you get 1 brownie point not messing this up.
Last findings, the ep was bloated as hell my soul Viv please stop cramming so much in an ep, this one is 30 mins long & yet still felt bloated. Pacing was a motherfuka damn it was bad & the swearing was jarring (its a Viv written ep I don't expect any less but still gonna point it out) and the comedy wasn't so prominent in this ep, Blitz/Mammon gave some comic relief but in the best and worst ways:
The way the VA delivered this line "to be fucked" made me laugh, the line is cringy but the delivery lol gold
Tumblr media
Aand Blitz, my soul shut the fuck up & get out this ep. Last ep & this one he said something so agonizingly cringe I pulled my face
Tumblr media
The world of HB is legit American hell or earth just painted red since Fizz named all these places in America just "hellified" where his fans come from.
And very last, congratulations Salem glad you got the cathartic send off you deserve from working under Viv, truly fuck you "Mammon" indeed :) also glad they credited you this time.

YOU, AT LEAST, WERE BUILT TO GO, J. MILLER
. . . which is why you are able to be loved
synopsis — joel is getting older, he is getting frail, and you, still in your youth, have to come to terms with it. you just have to do so much sooner than you thought when he’s hurt during your attempt to escape the university of eastern colorado.
genres &&. warnings — angst, hurt/comfort, (post) apocalypse &&. canon compliant, spoilers for ep. 6 “kin” and ep. 7 “left behind,” contemplation of death, canon-typical violence (wound, gore, blood, wound care), age-gap (reader is in their mid-late 20s).
word count — 3.2k
note from r — title comes from the poem “elegy for my innocence” by steven dunn. i suppose i need to introduce myself a little: i’m rhi, i’m 22, and i’m in my second to last semester of college where i’m majoring in english. obvi, a big fan of the last of us, but also resident evil (which is what i’ve based my account aesthetic on, courtesy of my beloved leon s. kennedy). my ask box is open for people who want to send in asks and things. i’m really looking forward to writing for my fellow joel miller lovers.
Tumblr media
if your parents were still alive, if they were around to see the life you’ve carved for yourself over the last few months, you’re certain your dad would want to smack the shit out of you and your mother would disown you from the family faster than you could blink.
you can hear the chastising now: a man old enough to be your father? are you joking? what the fuck is wrong with you? this is not what we meant when we told you we wanted you to start a family.
and you can’t fault them really. you are almost twenty years his senior, having been just a young child when the cordyceps outbreak decimated the world. if the world had stayed normal, if none of this had ever happened, you’d probably have a dead end corporate job that has you wanting to drop off the face of the earth at the end of every grueling day, married and going home to a man complacent and yielding in every aspect, never too sure of himself to assert any kind of dominance, stuck in his own dead end job that keeps you comfortable just enough.
but the world isn’t normal and it hasn’t been since 2003. and there’s nothing you can do about it. you feel like a child again, wholly the depiction of the angsty teen in dramas and romcoms, as you tell the ghosts of your parents that the heart wants what it wants and i can’t help that i fell in love with a man going starlight gray at his temples. it is wholly melodramatic, something that you would have seen in any number of teen dramas written by out-of-touch, old white men.
joel miller came into your life like a lone crimson leaf during the fall, sometime during your first few months at the boston quarantine zone. it wasn’t like he’d meant to because everything that man did and does is deliberate; he’d simply waltzed across your line of vision as you’d walked back to your apartment after a long day of doing menial chores, the new world equivalent of that mental-health-issue inducing corporate job that the older people of the zone talked about.
you’d heard of him, of course: joel miller, flown in from somewhere down south, a menace to anyone who crossed his path prior to his arrival in boston, a brother somewhere out in the midwest who had taken off and joined the fireflies. he was decidedly unapproachable, gruff and mean and stubborn. most people were more scared of him than they were of fedra for the simple fact that he was more deadly with his two bare hands than any fedra idiot (sorry, “soldier”) with a gun.
he wasn’t a person who you intended to mess around with, no matter how handsome you’d thought he was when you saw him that first time. but then you’d started hanging around with tess, one of very few people who had any kind of stable-enough connection with him and that had led to you meeting and hanging around with him too. tess invited you to go on runs with them, sneaking out of the zone at night to stretch your legs and look for supplies that fedra definitely had and refused to give up. she’d preached your capabilities to joel and, stubborn as he was, he’d allowed you to keep coming with them after the first time because you proved to be spry enough for things that he and tess had grown a little too old for: you were useful to him and that filled you with a kind of thrilling gratification.
by the time marlene had tasked your little trio with getting ellie out of the city, you were a year deep into your entanglement with joel where you did all the recreational talking and he was the one who made the deals with the fireflies, the fedra goons he had in his pocket, the people who had things to trade. it was a balance that worked well for you: joel was well-versed in persuasion when he wanted to be and you were seemingly the only person who could draw out the rare ghost of a smile or a laugh from him.
it was supposed to be a quick job, one that joel had insisted you sit out but you’d refused. just a quick round trip tpe thing, that’s what you’d said to him. we’ll be out and back before anybody even realizes we’re gone.
that had gone belly-up, of course, because anything that involved the fireflies had at least a 99% chance of not turning out the way anyone planned. and when you’d left the museum, you were down a friend and up a whole ton of miles. joel had tried to convince you again to leave, but once more you’d refused. tess died for us, joel. i’m in this until the end because i’m making sure her sacrifice wasn’t for nothing.
and he’d let you stay. even months after that discussion, you think that he must feel at least a tiny bit grateful that you’d argued with him over it, that you’d fought to tag along. you’re an extra set of eyes, of hands, someone capable of taking over when he needs a break, which is hardly ever because he’s still as ornery as always, but knowing that there’s someone there who can must be nice enough.
and you’re glad he’d given in for once in his life because he’s dying beneath your hands and you’re not sure what to do. he’s going sallow and gray on the concrete floor of this ransacked house, breathing raspy and eyes slipping between you and some far-off point above him. joel is dying and for the first time ever since entering his life, you’re useless.
“joel, stay awake, please,” you beg, clutching at his hand as you kneel beside him. “ellie, you have to stop the bleeding.”
“i’m trying,” the young girl snaps. when she looks up, all you see is a girl who is reliving a loss, a deer caught in headlights, frenzied and terrified. her hands press the cloth harder over joel’s stomach in an attempt to staunch the blood flow and the man groans.
“leave,” he mumbles and your head snaps to look at him. he cannot possibly be saying this right now, not after everything you’ve been through. “leave. head north, go back to jackson. find tommy.”
“like hell we will,” you reply, trying to channel as much of his stubbornness as you can. you’d rather give up and drop dead right now than leave him to die alone in some fucking house in colorado. “we’re gonna fix this, joel. we’re not leaving, i’m not leaving.”
he’s slipping again, eyes glazing over. you can tell he wants to fight with you, but he’s losing the energy for it. for any of it. ellie stills and then tosses his jacket over him in a bid to keep him warm. she fixes you with a look, his look that says stay with him, so you nod solemnly, brushing his hair back from his forehead. you hear her footsteps on the stairs and only when the door shuts behind her do you finally let yourself break, weeping openly over joel’s chest, rising and falling so, so shallowly.
falling in love with this man has been something beautiful, some kind of phoenix rising from the ashes of a long-dead world. over the last few months, you have come to learn the feel of his knuckles brushing against yours, the warmth of his chest against your back when you share a sleeping bag, the sound of his soft breaths as you’ve trekked through miles upon miles of woods and abandoned highways. you have come to appreciate those things, facets of him that only you are privy to, the only person to know the weight of his arm over your waist and feel of his breath against your shoulder.
but in doing so, in reveling in the knowledge that you are the sole person to experience these hidden away pieces of joel miller, you’ve forgotten just how much older he is than you are. that misty gray at his temples and in his beard have been so permanent, you’ve started to believe that he’s always looked like this, that it’s not a marker of his age. you’ve forgotten that he is older and growing frailer by the day, conveniently forgotten how his heart stutters and how his knees act up after hours and miles of walking.
you had always known, of course, that joel would eventually leave you, but not this soon. and not like this.
maybe it’s your fault for putting him on a pedestal: the great, unstoppable joel miller. in your mind, he’s untouchable, some formidable opponent who people fear because he’s strong and knows his way around a fight. it shouldn’t be a chunk of a broken baseball bat that ends his life because it’s not fair, none of this is fair. you’ve been a fool for thinking that the three of you, your unlikely little family, would make it out of this unscathed, for believing that you could live a life like bill and frank’s after this all was over: fulfilling, safe, and the closest resemblance of before.
“god,” you whimper out, still brushing your fingers through his salt and pepper hair. “how could you even consider telling us to leave you here, joel?”
he gazes up at you, blinks slowly, the smallest signs of life that tell you he’s listening and wanting to fight you back about it.
“y’can’t leave me alone here, old man.” a short, wet laugh. “we’ve got so much left to do. i can’t get ellie back to jackson without you. i can’t do anything without you.”
he shakes his head in response and narrows those dark eyes of his just a bit. you read it for what it is: don’t you start talkin’ about yourself like that. he’s always been hard on you for not believing in yourself and your abilities, and it makes you laugh again.
“i mean really, joel. first man i’ve ever loved and you’re telling me to leave you here to die alone in fucking colorado.” you shake your head, looking away to try to blink back tears. “i can’t- i can’t just go. i need you alive.”
you can’t even stop yourself from babbling through the tears, brushing his hair back and wiping away his own tears. even though you should be desensitized to death and loss, you’ve always been particularly sensitive. but you’re young and this is your first love, your only shot at it, and he’s bleeding out on a cold floor because you were too focused on everything else that you hadn’t been able to stop him from getting hurt.
“ain’t your fault,” joel rasps out, eyes shining in the dull winter light. you realize you voiced that, a placing of responsibility that you’d meant for yourself and yourself only. “don’t do that.”
you stare at him and you know what’s going through that head of his. all kinds of thoughts that he wants to voice out loud: it’s not your fault and you were doing the best you could in the situation and this was going to happen sooner or later. damn pessimistic realist, always focusing on the worst possible outcomes than entertaining any kind of optimism.
and in a twisted turn of events, you start to think of your parents, long gone and relegated solely to memory, buried somewhere between atlanta and boston: an optimistic dad and an overwhelmingly realistic mother, so far on opposite ends of a spectrum that they complemented each other perfectly. your dad, ever the poet, had stolen poetry collections from every bookstore he’d came across during your treks from settlement to settlement. his favorite poem, by far, was about the death of a person’s innocence, something always meant to die eventually, perpetually blushing and always coming back a little less pristine each time.
you remember it now as you’re holding joel’s hand with your own, pressing his knuckles against the soft plush of your cheek. you, at least, were built to go, you hear your father’s voice say in your head, which is why you are able to be loved. you haven’t thought about this poem in years, not since you lost him to a runner somewhere in south carolina, but it feels sickening that you’re recalling it now as you’re watching your first and only love die under your hands.
and yet, somehow, it feels comforting, the idea that to be human is to know that one day, a loved one will die, but to know that is to cherish them better, to love them harder. you’re not at all okay with joel dying because you’ve had so little time to love him, but it helps you to cherish those few late nights more, to revel in the memory of his warmth enveloping you on particularly cold nights.
you can let me go. joel’s dark eyes are going glossy again and you smile knowingly at him, still crying. he’s not dead yet and there’s a possibility that he’ll make it out of this alive, the outcome that you’re praying to every god that has ever existed for. you can let me go; it won’t be easy, but you can do it.
ellie’s feet as loud on the old wood stairs as she comes barreling through the door and down the stairwell. she looks rabid as she all but throws herself onto the floor beside joel, ripping the tan coat back and pulling the soaked cloth away. joel’s wound is still gushing blood, a sure sign that he’s well on his way to death, but when ellie makes eye contact with you, you know for sure she’s found something to help. she holds up a needle and spool of thread; she must have torn the entire house apart looking for her hail mary and she found it, she fucking found it. she stares at you, eyes wide and face red, breathing hard, waiting for your go ahead.
when you finally nod at her, fresh tears in your eyes, you look down at joel. his fingers curl around your palm tighter and he’s staring back, his eyes wide. you laugh tearfully, totally and entirely stunned that ellie had actually found a way to help.
“you’re gonna be okay,” you weep, pressing his hand to your forehead, letting your tears drip into your lap. “you’re gonna be okay, joel. just hang on.”
the next few minutes crawl by cruelly, joel surely leaving bruises on your hand from gripping yours too hard, too tight, but you can’t even care because when his hand finally goes slack, ellie is done. her handiwork isn’t so bad and the bleeding has stopped for the most part. when you sigh, it feels like the weight of the world leaves your shoulders, a degree of relief you’ve never felt in your life.
joel, stubborn as always, is fighting unconsciousness as you turn to look back at him and you know it’s because he knows he’s not entirely out of the woods yet. there’s still bleeding to stop, a potential infection to fight, medicine you need to find to keep him safe and healthy, but this has to be good enough for now. it has to be because he’s joel miller and he’s mucked it through gunshot wounds and temporary deafness and all kinds of other shit the world has thrown at him.
ellie, clearly emotionally gone, stands, her dark eyes empty and her face void of everything save for exhaustion. without even looking at you, she turns towards the stairs and says to nobody, “going for a walk. i need a break.”
her footsteps echo in the stairwell and then creak overhead before she disappears out the front door, leaving you in an empty house with joel and the horse in the garage. you look back to joel, still holding his hand. his face, always so devoid of anything minus annoyance and anger, looks so relieved right now and it makes you want to cry again, but you’re shit out of saline. you lay his hand down beside him before you tuck his winter coat back over him, up to the chin.
there’s not much that you can say, no thoughts come to mind. nothing more than i love you, but you want to save those for when he’s safely out of the thick of this. as true as they are, it’s not the right time, but you’re sure he knows. he must when he scoots his hand out from under the coat and nudges it against your thigh, some gesture that you can’t decode, but that you understand as i’m still here, like he’s able to read your mind. you smile at him softly.
i’ll tell him when this is all over, you reason with yourself as you move to lay beside him, exhaustion finally overtaking you. wherever we end up after ellie is safe with the fireflies, i’ll tell him and he’ll say it back and we’ll be okay.
he can’t turn onto his side, but he turns his head to face you, looking every bit the age of fifty. his eyes are tired and the crinkles of his skin run deep, his cheeks and chin dusted gray. this close, you can see every pock mark, the dip of skin at his temple from some long-forgotten cut, the deep scar that mars the space between his eyebrows. his defenses are down and he looks his age, for the first time in a long time because it’s so easy to forget how old he is when he’s doing the things he does to protect you and ellie.
you scoot in as far as you’ll allow yourself, knees knocking against his legs and your head pillowed on the arm underneath you. you raise a hand and rest it on his cheek, a touch he immediately leans into, like your palm was made to caress his skin. as far as you care, it was. he tilts his head towards you and you find yourself doing the same, foreheads touching. this is one of the small gestures joel allows you on most days, but right now, it feels more monumental than that. like always, it’s a moment shared singularly between the two of you, but it carries so much more weight because he gazes at you with so much more softness and love than he’s ever let himself show before and it reminds you that underneath all that rough exterior, he is a man capable of gentle touches and adoration, no matter how many times the world and himself have tried to beat it out of him.
as his breathing slows, but deepens (a sure sign that ellie has mended the problem for now), you move your arm to rest on his torso, hand pressed into the sturdy spot just above his heart. the beat is steady, solid, a reminder that he’s okay. he was built to go, but now more than ever, you feel he was also built to be yours, to be loved by you. and you’ll make sure he makes it through this, no matter the cost.

Happy Ghost Files premiere week! Have some numbers.
Puppet History was weird this season! The Wu Zeitan episode blew up very quickly, that's easily the fastest growing PH ep ever, but nothing else was even close. With it, the opening weekend average is close to last season's (which averaged ~445k openers) at 466k, but without it, the average was 399k. Do people miss Professor's hat this much? Do they crave lore? I dunno! But the show still does very well, so I don't want to imply that it doesn't, but I did find this season's numbers odd as hell.
Everything else is trucking along at pretty consistent growth within series. Mystery Files grows around 20k per ep per week, Ghost Files at ~50k per ep per week and everything else is much lower. The people demand files.
They haven't done a lot of one offs this year but this new Steven one did pretty good. Nothing crazy but the one-offs aren't consistent and for a sponsored vid, I think that's just fine. I do miss Steven terribly so always happy to see him.
Ghost Files premieres this week! I'm excited for the show and for the new schedule. The Debriefs averaged around what the Post-Mortems always did, in the 1 million range, so I'm very interested to see how they do with the Friday spotlight and with longer videos.
As of today, August 21, 2023, Watcher has 2.71 million subscribers and 331,435,296 views. With the Youtube shorts, the number of videos and averages per video are borked, unfortunately, but nice to have some posterity with these.

As someone who has been a fan of the boys since the beginning of Buzzfeed Unsolved when Ryan was doing his little PowerPoint presentations and reading from a single sheet of printer paper, this entire Watcher fiasco is insane and was definitely not on my 2024 bingo card.
Back when Ryan and Shane announced that they were leaving Buzzfeed to start their own entertainment company with Steven, I was excited! I wanted to see what new, fun, interesting, and creative content they would put out without Buzzfeed holding them back. I'm a huge fan of Mystery and Ghost Files, Puppet History, Are You Scared?, Too Many Spirits, Top 5 Beatdown. Loved Spooky Small Talk before it was scrapped. I watched every new ep that came out, even the ones I didn't like that much like Steven's food ones, and liked and commented because I wanted to support them as much as possible. I rewatch all my favorite episodes. I have a dedicated playlist of Ryan and Shane content because it helps me fall asleep at night. When I didn't have much I at least had Watcher to keep my smile on my face and continuous laughter going when I didn't feel much like going on.
I got the notification 3 days ago about a new Watcher video and was stunned at what I saw. Sure I can watch episode 1 of new shows and watch some trailers, but I'm gonna have to sub to yet another streaming service to watch anything more. A streaming service that doesn't even have an app, so if I want to add anything to my sleep playlist, I'm gonna have to leave my phone on all night.
Anyways, I immediately went and checked the boys' socials and see what they posted for any additional info. Thousands upon thousands of negative comments all saying basically the same thing:
I can't afford $6/month/not everyone has $6 laying around, and it can really make or break someone financially.
Been a fan since Unsolved, guess I'm not a watcher anymore.
This is a bad move.
From what I've seen across reddit, Twitter, tiktok, Instagram, and Tumblr, the negative far outweigh the positive. The only "positive" comments I've seen haven't really been "oh this is a great idea! I'm gonna go sub right now!!" It's really been more, "well it's their business, they can do what they want with it." Or simply bashing other people because they cannot afford $6 a month or $60 a year, which really comes off as boomer ideology. You know, the old "if millennials would stop eating avocado toast or buying Starbucks maybe they can afford a house!" While completely ignoring the global economic crisis we are all facing. It's completely out of check with the fact that there's so many of us not just in America, but in the world who are barely living paycheck to paycheck. That there are so many people who WISH they could get a Starbucks coffee in the morning but often times have to skip meals because they cannot afford food if they want to keep a roof over their heads, you know the ridiculous amount of money that we spend to rent a small space. Never gonna forget the one apartment I looked at that was $800 a month, no utilities included, no parking, no pets allowed, and I could lay flat on the ground and have my 5'4" length reach comfortably in every single room. Wasn't even a kitchen or room for a single size bed (mild tangent rant, I now pay $1300 for a 2 bedroom apartment, most utilities included, but bad parking)
And for Steven to say that anyone can afford $6 is just so factually wrong. Has anyone checked the foreign exchange rate for $6? Some threads I've seen on Reddit are insane. For some people 6 USD translates to someone's entire rent or a week's worth of food. If I recall the comment correctly, one person said that in their country, Netflix comes out to $2 USD, and is considered a luxury item that only the upper class/wealthy have.
Maybe I'm just being bitter. Maybe I'm just overreacting to a piece of content I loved and cherished being pushed behind a paywall. It just feels like a slap in the face to fans who have spent countless hours soaking in their content, recommending them to friends, making new friends over a shared interest, and now feeling like they didn't matter at all. That we were just dollar signs. To hear them going from thanking dedicated fans for helping them get to where they are to but now you gotta give us more money if you want to keep being fans and now we are going to ignore your backlash just feels disingenuous and heartbreaking.

Moon knight.
Steven x f!reader.
Eventually: Marc x f!reader, Jake x f!reader.
I don't own Moon knight charcaters, or the gif.
Third post in one day, this is amazing.
Wow, either way here you go my friend.
Tumblr media
Ep 02:
time :24:17
_Hello (Y/N).
Steven smiled at your flowting form, that was sitting beside him, you were a ghost or that's what you told him you were, Unfortunatly, you can not tell him the whole truth.
In Steven's eyes you were something he possessed only him, his own angel guardien. Not the little American man inside of him, you were his friend that showed him the right path, and you never had been wrong. You always right!
You never lied to him, and you told him everything, well not everything, but enough for him to understand where he stood.
You had helped him when no one wanted to and you never thought of him as weird, you were his guarden angel. You even laughed at his stupid jokes.
You hated the nickname. He thought, you would rather be called a blood thirsty monster than an angel.
_What happened?
You raised an eyebrow, and he couldn't help but let out a small giggle, not from hapiness, but how silly this may be to you.
_Well…Well you see..I know you wouldn't beleive but..but there someone inside of me…He want to take my body..His name is Mark..He was the one that broke the toiletes…He want to take my body and kill people…and I was kidnapped when they thought I was him..You see..
Before he could continue, the door opened and he fallen head first.
_Steven!
You eyes widen as you flowted beside him. You tried to touch him, but when it pass through, you draw them back in disappointment.
_Listen Steven..
He turn you way, ignoring the man in front of him. Steven will always put you first no matter the situation, and he was ready to listen to whatever you say.
_Whatever this man says to you, don't beleive him. Did you hear?
Steven nodded rapiddly, like an obedient child.
_He is a liar, just like the skeleton bird over there.
He was glad the bird couldn't see you, or he would have done something to you, after all the insult you throw his way. Since he appeared in Steven's life one year after you did.
Looking at the bad guy in fornt of him, he thought as he tried to stop his tears "I'm counting on you (Y/N)".
He really is, you were his only chance to get out of this mess.

Hii this might be a lot to ask but I haven’t been able to keep up with all their content so I don’t know about most of the bingo card🤣 is it okay if you mention from which ep each thing that was crossed or like post a snippet of it? Thanks!
hi anon!! im not gonna lie i had to dive DEEP into my blog to find the reasonings behind some of the crossed out ones because i simply did not remember a lot of them since there are SO many moments and theyre just crazy in love idk what to tell you.
also shoutout to @littlekingbergara for helping me out GIVE HER ALL THE LOVE they're my boo <3
so im gonna go row by row for these reasonings!!
Tumblr media
1. cute instastories: not sure when the date or time was, but this was when shane uploaded an instastory of him and ryan playing pool in chicago!! either that, or maybe it's another instastory and it's slipping my mind, regardless they post about each other a lot :D
2. shane "heart eyes" madej: ok so let's be real... heart eyes madej is just a constant at this point LSDKJF. but the moment i marked were these: the zoom screenshot was in a ww+ 103 and in the most recent season of top 5 beatdown!! the zoom one is so cute because ryan was ranting about annoying people in movie theaters and shane was just So Fond
Tumblr media Tumblr media

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 8 Ep. 189: Advice From Beyond
After connecting with Valentina in a new way, Peachy had intended to head straight to bed and ponder the situation, but as he passed the kitchen, he saw that his father had floated in for another visitation.
Remembering how beneficial his advice had been the evening of the BBQ Peachy grabbed a late-night snack from the fridge and settled down next to his dad in the hopes that the romance guru could once again help him.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
Peachy quickly explained what had just happened and his conflicted feelings about being with someone new after Jack. Was it really fair to Jack to be with Valentina, even if Jack wasn’t around? They had spoken briefly about visitations before Jack’s death and Peachy knew he once again planned to honor the customs of his homeland, as well as give Peachy and their son time and space to grieve. Jack had also worried about the irrational fear of ghosts that had hit SimNation since Storm and Xander’s day.
Jack couldn’t stand the thought of giving Peachy or Luigi a phobia. Likewise Peachy really didn’t want to give his son a complex of a different type by starting a new relationship too soon, given how much he idolized his Papa Jack, or put Luigi’s relationship with Valentina under stress.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
Unlike the last time they’d talked Steven didn’t have personal experience with his son’s struggle, but the longtime romance blogger had been close to his departed son-in-law and had counseled many couples in similar situations.
He reminded Peachy that Jack had always strongly believed that life was a gift, and each day should be lived to the fullest. He was sure Jack would tell his husband to grab this chance at love. He also confirmed that Jack would be at Peachy’s Black and White Bash, coming up very soon. That would be a perfect opportunity for the two of them to sit down and talk.
As for Luigi, Steven thought the best they could do was be mindful of his feelings and be honest with him. He was his own sim, and they couldn’t control how he’d react, but Peachy shouldn’t let that hold him back from being true to himself as well.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
Peachy thanked his dad for once again being there for him. Wishing him goodnight he headed up to bed, planning to talk to Jack at the bash before going any further with Valentina.
This second chance at love was scary but also exhilarating, and for the first time since Jack’s death Peachy felt hopeful about his future.

Rules: Shuffle your 'on repeat' playlist and post the first ten tracks, then tag ten people.
Tagged by @catboyclarity THANK YOU i will always talk about music. Commentary and lyrics included because I am once again incredibly normal about music.
1.) Sleep by Slowdive - "When I see you drowning / I'll dream, dream away from you"
So apparently the version I have on my spotify is like, a reupload by a completely random user under a different name and I did not realize this was a Slowdive song until right this second. Interesting! Did not know that was allowed!
2.) Enchanting Ghost by Sufjan Stevens - "And if it pleases you to leave me, just go / Stopping you would stifle your enchanting ghost"
YEAHHH ENCHANTING GHOST!!! I was really obsessed with the All Delighted People EP a few weeks ago so I'm not surprised it's got some representation in my on repeat playlist.
3.) Two Lips - Choir Boy - "I don’t need a place to go when I give up the ghost / Tulips of the spring should grow"
Passive With Desire is a great album all around, no comments.
4.) Child I Will Hurt You - Crystal Castles - "Mercy, we abstain"
I used to be really into this album in 2013??ish. But somehow I missed this song back then, and wasn't until recently I came around to it.
5.) Big in Japan - Alphaville - "I had no illusions that I'd ever find a glimpse of / Summer's heatwave in your eyes"
This is fully because I went on a road trip with my friends and someone put this on the playlist and it was stuck in my head so I started looping it while cooking dinner one night. But really catchy song.
6.) Canine Teeth - Orchid Mantis & Fog Lake - "Tell me, what's the price of a broken dream?"
Crazy story about this one, the owner of a local record shop helped produce this album and we were totally geeking out about it together because I love both Fog Lake and Orchid Mantis.
7.) Archie, Marry Me - Alvvays - "You've expressed explicitly your contempt for matrimony"
SONG OF THE SUMMER‼️I looped this one for a good long time because it's just a satisfying listen. Those introductory lyrics are as smooth as butter.
8.) All Delighted People (Original Version) - Sufjan Stevens - "I’m not easily confused / The trouble with the storm inside us grew / But I had so much to give / In spite of all the terror and abuse"
I just KNEW something from this EP would make an appearance here again. This song is like a smaller version of Impossible Soul to me. I love the reuse of the melody from Sound of Silence, and the reinterpretation of the lyrics to be about a turbulent relationship.
9.) Leave Me Be - Choir Boy - "When we both can see / Divergence warrants no hostility"
I am once again repeating that Passive With Desire is a great album and this is my favorite song from it. It's EXTREMELY catchy you have been warned.
10.) Happy 13 - Flotation Toy Warning - "Guess we can't really choose exactly where we land / But how fast you were bound is in your own hands"
Oh man, I discovered Bluffer's Guide To The Flight Deck probably less than 48 hours ago and I'm already concerned its on my repeat. Really fun, niche album with fantastic album art (we love you seabirds).
I don't tag people usually, but if you would like to do this then please feel free to tag me back! If anyone wants more music thoughts I recently made a Rate Your Music account and there's a few things like this up there.

Before Mystery Files braves the algorithm this Friday, thought I’d do a quick check-in with the Watcher viewcounts.
First and foremost, WWW has cooled down a bit. It’s in line with the first six weeks of original WWW eps, Mystic Museum and Soda Pals, and better than the rest. Older eps have cooled off too, although they really did get significant boosts there for awhile. My personal opinion about WWW’s future is that if they get sponsors for it, it may become a travel show (like the Montana episode) but is dependent on their schedule and being sponsored. Still, I will be holding out hope for an Iowa State Fair WWW because it would be a delight to me personally.
As you can see, the second season of Worth a Shot has not blown the doors off. Sad because I liked the changes to the format a lot, bringing in Mari as a co-host, having a couple episodes with a Steven battle.
New season of TMS is right in line with last year’s, so it’s nice to see it be consistent. Also last year’s got a nice little boost.
Ghost Files continues to do banger numbers every week, particularly the Hobo Hill House finale. Last week it got 81k views, which is almost as much as the new WAS did.
Mystery Files starts this week! My official prediction is that it will do quite well, but not Ghost Files level. This is based on my BFU viewcounting, where True Crime and SPN were quite equal in viewers until the last couple years when SPN became a more statistical favorite. TC often really popped off based on subject, so I’ll be interested to see if that follows here.
I’m excited for MF to do well for a few reasons. First, obviously, I want all their series to do well. Second, having seen the premiere on Patreon last week, I can confirm that it’s a very good show with amazing production and it truly feels like a Team Watcher show and not necessarily Team Ryan/Shane/Steven/whoever. It’s very collaborative! And third, because MF is made in-house without travel expenses, the better it does means the more the company can do travel videos or take chances on other creators or new concepts.
For posterity, as of May 15, 2023, Watcher has 2.53 million subscribers, 274 videos, and 283,468,098 views. That averages to 1.034 million views per video. This is up from 1.018m views per video from December.

Yes cheating scandals are always scandals but this one’s bigger in a different way (not for the public he’s not a mega start or anything) but from a repercussions standpoint oh boy, if you don’t know Ned is one of 4 founders of a company that has multiple employees, shows, tours, books, podcasts, tv shows including one on food network that’s scheduled to come out and he slept with an employee! Of course he got fired because don’t fuck the employees is a pretty big rule of most jobs and if she wanted (say she was engaged and wanted to try anything to pass the blame to win her Fiance back) she could of tried suing for workplace harassment, said she was paid or threatened, and I’m guessing she’ll get a nice payout so she can’t sue for unfair dismissal (my boss pressured me into sex then I got fired is a pretty good lawsuit). And although he has left the company are already people suspecting that the rest of the guys knew and hid it/ignored it which is Bad for a company based of personality. So in short not only did this guy give up his family’s primary income but risked the entire company and income of an entire company full of people so he could dick down an engaged women

Listening Post: Broadcast
Tumblr media
British band Broadcast was active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They began life as a fairly conventional indie-rock band with a retro-futurist aesthetic and bookish sensibilities, but over time developed a burgeoning interest in analog synths, field recordings, the occult history of the British Isles, and what came to be known as a “hauntological” sound in common with artists on the Ghost Box label. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Trish Keenan and her partner, multi-instrumentalist James Cargill, were the main members of the group, and early incarnations also included Roj Stevens on keyboards and Tim Felton on guitar. They released a handful of widely praised albums, from Work and Non-Work, a 1997 compilation of their early EPs and singles, through to 2009’s Broadcast and the Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age. Keenan tragically died of pneumonia in 2011 after complications that arose from contracting a virus. Following Keenan’s death, Cargill worked on the soundtrack to the 2013 horror film Berberian Sound Studio, which featured music that the couple had created together.
On 18th March 2022, Warp makes widely available three rare Broadcast releases. Maida Vale Sessions compiles four live performances recorded at the BBC during 1996 and 2003, both for the Evening Session and legendary DJ John Peel, mostly comprising songs from 1997’s Work and Non-Work, 2000’s The Noise Made by People and 2003’s Ha Ha Sound. Microtronics Vol. 1 & 2 is a 34-minute collection of instrumental vignettes, originally available in 2003 and 2005 as tour-only CDs. Mother Is the Milky Way is a 20-minute collage originally available as a tour-only CD in 2009.
Intro by Tim Clarke
Maida Vale Sessions by Broadcast
Tim Clarke: What I’m finding most interesting about these releases is how they present a continuum of Broadcast’s range of approaches, and they remind me how much I enjoy all eras of the band’s music. At one end of the spectrum you have the more song-based material of Maida Vale Sessions, where you can hear them working through the arrangements for a lot of the songs that would appear on their first few releases. I get the impression that later in their career, Keenan and Cargill felt a little embarrassed by their earlier music, that it was too pretty and conventional, and was easily lumped in with other bands like Stereolab and Portishead. Many of these songs still stand up, though, especially “Come On Let’s Go,” “Lights Out” and “Pendulum.”
youtube
At the other end of the spectrum, you have Microtronics, a series of short, distinct sound experiments in which they repurpose drum tracks from their album sessions, dabble in analog synth sounds, and explore their rhythmic and timbral palette. Then, in the middle we have Mother Is The Milky Way, which feels like a close cousin of Broadcast and the Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age, employing that album’s wonderful approach of collaging field recordings, instrumental snippets and elusive snatches of song into a flowing, kaleidoscopic tapestry.
How’s everyone else finding these three releases?
Ian Mathers: Tim, I think you sum up the releases very well, although I'd say the two Microtonics volumes were maybe the biggest surprise for me on the first couple of listens, they feel a bit more like the earlier full-band material in sound but with the pace and structure of later stuff like the Berberian Sound Studio soundtrack. It's probably the release I was least excited to hear (although still very much so), and it was the one that most upended my expectations. At times it's also a lot heavier than I expected!
That said, though I do love Broadcast's later work (very much!) the early EPs and The Noise Made By People have a special place in my heart. As someone who really doesn't tend to track down stuff like BBC sessions unless they're actually collected and release like they've been here the Maida Vale Sessions was the part I was most excited to see, and it does not disappoint. As far as I can tell, the only song unique to this release is "Forget Every Time" (the closing "Sixty Forty" is also new to me, and also great, but has also been released on a Warp anniversary compilation), and while I'm suspicious of both recency bias and how rarely you get to have the experience of finding a great new song from a band you love who's no longer active, I'm at least a little tempted to say it's worth the price of admission on its own (I really love the organ tones on it). But even if the rest is 'just' great radio performances of great songs, it's a thorough delight, and spirited readings of early songs like "The Book Lovers" just confirm to my ears that my sense at the time that dismissals of them as "kind of like Stereolab" were missing something. (Not a knock on Stereolab, and you can definitely hear some kinship, but still!)
youtube
Ian Mathers: As for Mother Is the Milky Way, it not only reminds me of things like the record with The Focus Group, but Trish's Mind Bending Motorway Mix. Posted by Cargill (if I'm remembering correctly) shortly after Keenan passed, it was just a mix she made for a friend, but something about the sweep and scope of it reminds me of that collage-like effect here. I've already seen some griping on twitter about the 19-minute length, but honestly as someone who loves all the phases of Broadcast but tends to resonate most strongly with the more song-y stuff having a more compact way to dip into that side of them is very welcome to me. I honestly can't think of many bands who ranged as far afield within their sound or genre as Broadcast did without ever having any of it feeling like a radical break. Some bands (including some great ones!) try a new effects pedal or drum pattern and it feels like practically a whole new outfit, but for me somehow Broadcast can move from "Come on Let's Go" to "Milling Around the Village" and it all makes sense as one arc. Am I in the minority here, do others find the changes (which as noted include a pretty significant shift in personnel down to a due) more jarring or separating, in terms of their work?
Tim Clarke: Astute observations, Ian. While I appreciate hearing the songs I've never heard before, like "Forget Every Time" from Maida Vale Sessions, that's an example where you can hear why they may not have included it on an album: the verse chords and snare rolls are reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" and the theremin is very Portishead. I like the chorus and agree with you on the lovely organ tones, but I think it's an example of the kind of sound they were purposely moving away from, simply because it was quite derivative. I saw them live in Sheffield around this time and they really leaned into the noisier aspects of their sound, ending their set with an extended jam on "Hammer Without A Master."
I haven't found their evolution to be jarring, mainly because there's still a lot of sweet songcraft in an album like 2005's Tender Buttons, even if the arrangements are a lot more dark, growly and minimal compared to earlier albums. They're a really interesting band in that I would consider the lesser-known compilation The Future Crayon to be one of their most essential releases as it showcases so many facets of what makes the band compelling: their ear for melody is always wrestling with their impulse to experiment with texture and atmosphere.
Ian Mathers: A couple of quick side notes: I randomly discovered that "Sixty Forty" is actually a Nico cover, because the original version showed up on a soundtrack a friend of mine was commenting on, and if anyone takes a look at the Listed we posted today from the bassist in Cloakroom, he has The Noise Made By People as one of his picks.
The Future Crayon is actually one of their releases I'm less familiar with, but I think these three new ones are going to have me going through their older material pretty comprehensively soon. I really like the Pendulum EP and I know those tracks are all included. And I hadn't made the "White Rabbit" connection with "Forget Every Time", but now that you've mentioned it — yeah, definitely there! I wish I had seen them live myself, they didn't come over to Toronto that often and at least once I had the chance, but I remember thinking to myself that I'd catch them next time. Contrast that to a band like Ladytron (who in 2001 or so I both much more would have connected to a band like Broadcast, and who I also skipped on seeing at the time), who went on to not only diverge in terms of sound/structure/etc but who put out far more than Broadcast's three studio LPs and who I did in fact see in 2019 on a triumphant tour for their first album back from a hiatus. Sometimes it's more than just the music of Broadcast that feels slightly ephemeral or otherwise on the edge of vanishing; a lot of what they did is so rich, to me, but when you tote it all up it's a fairly specific amount of... stuff that they actually did, in a way that feels like it was pretty deliberately crafted or selected. Not sure whether the move down to a duo plays into that as well.
youtube
Ian Mathers: One thing I've been thinking about is how I would have taken the Microtronics collections if I'd heard them when originally released. I think they're described explicitly as "for links and bridges," which is different from a full-on soundtrack. I can imagine this kind of thing being used on the vintage educational tapes they used to play sometimes for us in grade school or even high school science class, burbling away as they demonstrate an experiment, between voiceovers. It makes me both wish someone had taken them up on the implied offer, and how much their approach might have varied if they'd had the chance to do more than one soundtrack — after all, the released Berberian Sound Studio is a whopping 39 tracks with an average length of less than a minute. Each individual track here is a bit more substantial. I think BSS works really well both in the film (which I watched without knowing who did the soundtrack!) and then listened to as an album, and I wonder what else they could have done with other projects.
Mother Is The Milky Way by Broadcast
Bryon Hayes: Ian, I was lucky enough to see Broadcast play with Fly Pan Am at Lee's Palace back in 2003. My memory is rather fuzzy, but they were very striking to watch, from what I remember. Trish's bangs hid her eyes, and she was rather stoic on stage. They sounded not unlike that show they played at Radio France that's circulating online, The Black Sessions. A hybrid of jagged electronic wizardry and 1960's soft pop-influenced psychedelia.
Tim, one thing I noticed while listening to the Maida Vale Sessions was how much clearer and prettier the music is than I remember, particularly Trish's voice. I had to go back and re-listen to the first two records and realized that the band produced those themselves. So, the production team at the BBC studio really put a new spin on the songs for me.
I enjoy the electronics-forward Microtronics tunes as well, but by far my favorite is Mother is the Milky Way. I'm particularly fond of speech samples in music, especially how the band employed them here. Also, is it me or was the 00s the decade that a lot of bands put out tour-only releases? I missed the band on the tour for this one, so I'm glad that it's getting a "real" release now.
youtube
Ian Mathers: I hadn't heard that Black Sessions before (thank you for sharing) and it's kind of a revelation compared to the Maida Vale disc. Maybe some of this is down to the French format having a live audience in the studio (I don't think the BBC did for those sessions?) or the fact that the Maida Vale album collects four shorter sessions versus the Black Session being on continuous performance. But it's certainly significantly harsher and noisier (I don't want to spend too long on it since it's not one of the new reissues, but that guitar on "Dead the Long Year" is just vicious!), in fact I'd say it's the closest I've heard Broadcast come to being a rock band. And that's something else that interests me about the sessions on the Maida Vale disc, which date from 1996 to 2003 — if you could arguable Broadcast were a rock band as a five-piece, by the time they were a duo of Keenan and James Cargill on Tender Buttons (from after these sessions) they were certainly something else. So, while the Black Sessions is a great striking portrait of Broadcast-as-band, the Maida Vale sessions give more of a sense of the arc of their journey.
But while I absolutely immediately filed Broadcast as at least something akin to synthpop back when I first heard The Noise Made by People (particularly because of how out of step they seemed with a lot of their contemporaries) and then later by the time I'd heard Tender Buttons et al that earlier work did seem more rock and less electronic by comparison (and certainly the homaging of certain bits of 1960s music was clearer to me too), by the time of something like Mother Is the Milky Way I probably wouldn't offer up much more in the way of genre tags than a cheerful shrug. You're right about tour-only release, Byron, and I wonder if this was a representation of what they sounded live by that point, a kind of swirling synaesthetic collage.
Microtronics - Volumes 1 & 2 by Broadcast
Tim Clarke: What I'm finding most interesting with repeat listens of these new releases is their emphasis on music as process. Given that Microtronics and Mother Is the Milky Way were originally tour-only releases, the band presumably felt they weren't necessarily worthy of wider release, but nevertheless wanted to give fans some insight into their musical dabblings on the margins.
As far as I'm aware, Keenan and Cargill were in the midst of working on the official follow-up to Tender Buttons when Keenan passed, so I wonder if any of this newer material will see official release? Cargill has released Keenan's mixtapes and demos on SoundCloud to celebrate her birthday each year since her passing, and these three releases obviously plug the gaps in any Broadcast fan's collection. Fingers crossed they're a precursor to new unheard music that may or may not comprise an album proper.
Marc Medwin: I'm just digging into the Microtronics comp, which I've never heard before, Wow!! Yes, process is certainly one way to look at it, but each of these little gems has a certain static quality about it, something that sets it outside of the flow toward something I usually associate with the term process. Even if they encapsulate a process, like the various levels of simultaneous descent and crescendo in the sixth track, they don't actually go anywhere. I'm beginning to think that my conception of process is flawed!!

Queer Watcher 2021
I am looking back on another beautiful year with @wearewatcher and I have to say, I love being in this fandom and in Watcher’s audience as a queer person.
This is the same thing as last year (Queer Watcher 2020), I will list the things I appreciate and enjoy, and once again I am very happy that I can write this. (I also encourage you to read last year’s list since many of the things I wrote there still apply to this year. Also, I will do this again for 2022. ^-^)
This is technically from 2020, not from 2021, but I am eternally annoyed with myself that I forgot to put it in my Queer Watcher 2020 post, and that’s why I am mentioning it now: “I love you, man.” “I love you too.” - Spooky Smalltalk. No, there isn’t anything inherently queer about two men telling each other platonically that they love each other. But here is why I am including it in this list: It’s the open and honest affection. Which brings me to my next point.
First video of the year and I am once again reminded why I love this channel, this content and these people so much. Dish Granted is so wonderfully heartwarming and that’s why I am including it on this list too: I am always looking for this kind of warmth in a world that is often cold towards me (for being queer, for being autistic, for being some other things). I adore Dish Granted and I would like to hug the entire show.
Happy Valentine’s Day to the oars!
Trans Day of Visibility! Watcher asked for trans/non-binary folks to share their art and then supported it by retweeting some of it.
I love it in general when they acknowledge the various Pride days or weeks (International Asexuality Day, Lesbian Visibility Day, Bi Visibility Week etc.)
International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia
Happy Pride Month! First I have to mention the merch, obviously. I did not see that coming at all and it made me very happy. I love my gay oars pins. A lot. And it is amazing that they give some of the proceeds to the Trevor Project.
Happy Pride Month! Again! This was one of my favorite Watcher moments this year: All three co-founders said Happy Pride in unison and I think a small part of me healed. It was so so damn lovely. (I also enjoy it quite a bit when Shane is kind of awkward with showing sincere emotions, a) because it is endearing and b) because I am bad at showing emotions in a way that is probably “expected” (or whatever) and I hate showing strong emotions in front of other people. Also, I really relate to awkwardness in general lmao.)
Every time our favorite co-founders wore or used their own Pride merch. Idk it makes me happy.
Every time people tell Shane that he is the “protector of the gays” or something like that and he does not really accept it. Like. I agree, it would be kind of uncomfortable if he called himself that.
He’s against French ghosts who are bigots though.
Making Watcher! Now on youtube, and it makes me so friggin’ emotional every time. It great to see these people care about each other and about the content they put out into this world. Heartwarming.
Dish Granted with Steven’s parents - same reasons as the ones above but also because of the accidental Believe Me Maizey. Made me cry. A wonderful reminder of our favorite holographic lesbian and her French Fries wife, and of the magnificence that is the hot daga.
That one moment in the cave ep of AYS - “Joe was here! Looking like a total ten.” - “Yeah, he was looking like a whole goddamn snack.” <3
Every time the existence and validity of they/them pronouns was acknowledged.
The return of the gay oars for Puppet History season 4! I love those guys and I loved to see them again and write my silly little tumblr posts about them. I wish I could put into words how much they mean to me but if you have followed me for a while, you know how much I adore them and how often I draw them. There were many beautiful little moments with them this year, and it was fantastic to see them again. Truly a highlight of this year.
We don’t have to talk about the season finale though.
Actually yes we do - here’s another silly little tumblr post you might find interesting. Still very proud of this one. Read it, it’s good.
Dunking on a homophobic ghost during TMS.
“God’s hot.” I can’t agree with the pile of diamonds here but I am happy that the oars are apparently not the only queer puppets.
I left out the patreon stuff on purpose (and there is stuff on patreon, I can only recommend it!) but I want to include a personal highlight here that made me very emotional. Steven picked one of my questions for Watcher Weekly+ and accidentally misgendered me. It was brought up on the Watcher discord and he was there within 15 minutes, acknowledged his mistake, apologized and said he would make an effort to do better. I know this seems like a little thing but I am not used to people handling a situation like that so well and I am very grateful that he did.
All the wonderful people of team Watcher, and all the wonderful people they had as guests.
The casual, constant support. I have said it before but I genuinely believe that it is more important than making one grand statement and then never touching the topic again.
All that being said, I do not want to put the Watcher co-founders and the Watcher team on a pedestal. They have their faults, they have made mistakes before, they are not perfect - nobody is.
There have been conversations about pronouns and using they/them pronouns as the default, and I think that’s something they can work on. (And, from what I’ve seen, they do. They are making an effort, and that’s all I can ask.) Personally, I also cringe every time I hear the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” - I know it is easy to say it without really thinking about it but I just hate it (in general, this is not just a Watcher thing).
But I believe that the Watcher team genuinely does make an effort and genuinely does care about the LGBTQ+ people in their audience.
So, in conclusion: I enjoy being part of Watcher’s audience, as an autistic person and especially as a queer person. I very much believe that they will grow as a channel, company and as people in the future. And I am very happy to be part of that journey and to be able to witness it.
