It’s been embarassingly long, but Im trying to catch up on what I’ve misses in the tumblr life, so here goes ^^” Tagged by the lovely @fleet-off and @theflowergirl thank youu <3
Three Ships:
VegasPete (KinnPorsche The Series), Voiles aka Nogitsune/Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf), aaaaaand hell, I have no idea, those two are my absolute fave obsession rn and I like all the others about the same 😂 let’s say Violate, as in Violet/Tate from American Horror Story: Murder House, because I have I huge soft spot for them and the first ship fic I wrote was for them too ^^
First Ever Ship:
Again, Violate is probably the first I Actively read and engaged with while understanding what’ shipping is and all. BUT I do remember reading Legolas/Aragorn fics waaaaaay back, dunno how long ago exactly, but Ive watched LotR for the first time at like 9 or something, and it’s been a huge part of my life, so yeah, that’s probably the first I came across and somewhat got into without actually knowing what Im doing or what it is Im reading 😂
Last Song:
Claude - Ladada (Mes Derniers Mots) --> Heard it on the radio yesterday and immediately loved it, now it’s going on repeat, lmao.
Last Movie:
Probably Glass Onion, it’s been a few months (ooof, don’t judge me, it’s Hard to find the capacity to focus on something new these days ;/), but it was very entertaining ^^ maybe not As good as Knives Out, but just as fun and I loved the twist in the middle and the second part was Amazing!
Currently Watching:
Well... I got stuck on The Last of Us after ep. 6 and haven’t yet watched the rest, but I haven’t really started anything else, so I guess TloU? Hopefully one day I’ll get back to it and finish the season 😅
Currently Reading:
Ugh... This is embarassing, huh? It’s really just fanfics these days (ooof). Been stuck for the past month in reading anything Sasuke Uchiha-centric I could find that tickled me in a very particular way, like family and/or time travel angst, and now Im inching back into VegasPete fics, but other than that, yeah, not much really... (I Am thinking of buying a particular pair of queer vampire romances books Ive been eyeing recently, even tho shipping from US is gonna be freakishly expensive probably, but well... I know the books are gonna be a great read and if Im to actually get myself to pick up a Proper book again, I might just make myself a birthday present or something, who knows.)
Currently Consuming:
Nothing rn, but I did just eat a very nice tomato souce spaghetti for dinner ^^ (That I Somehow got myself to make after realizing that I gotta cook while already Very hungry and upset, but hey! It came out super nice so Im def in a better mood rn ^^)
Currently Craving:
Fromage flavoured Lays chips. Which is probably super basic and also very unhealthy, I know, but oh well, gotta have some vices or smth. At least I didn’t buy any, lmoa.
No-pressure tagging some lovely mutuals and peeps I’d love to know better: @flowers-for-stiles @dual-desires @msmischief101 @roxannes-love-letters @plushrumpasaurus @livingbythewords @iced-ginger-tea also anyone who’d like to do it, please feel tagged as well! ^^

6. Your favorite killer (besides Hannibal or Will)?
♥️♥️
Omggggg great question! For me it’s gotta be Tobias Budge. Fromage is one of my favorite eps and he’s part of the reason! He’s such a great parallel to Hannibal and I love what he did in the show. Also, SUCH cool kills.

Y’all. YALL. KIPO SEASON 2 is FIREEEEEEEE
Heroes on Fire...
Anyway!
Binge watched Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts Season 2 today and y’all it was sooooo good!!
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD
I was gonna do a cut off but... I can’t be bothered getting my laptop sooo...
LONG POST TOO!!! Plus I have enough spoiler tags I think...
———
First of all... Scarlemagne = Mojo-jojo but with actual redemption arc potential???
They really set homie up as the biggest bad and then the twist mystery that Lio and Scarlemagne are connected at the end of S1... but then every much like The Storm from ATLA, we just DEEP-DIVED into Scarlemagne aka HUGO’s backstory and you’re like “well shit, no fucking wonder he got so damn twisted and hating on humans”
And yknow what even with his convoluted thinking and the terrible things he’s done, I’m really really glad they didn’t go down the whole “I blame Kipo bc I’m jealous she took Lio and Song’s attention away from me and that’s why they left me behind” story line... it’s absolutely fascinating that at no point does Scarlemagne blame Kipo, and even looks at her as a sister... like his line “you’re not the one who rejected me” was so powerful, bc he recognises she was just an innocent baby and sees the same confused child in her that he was when he was left alone on the surface... and twisted though his attempts of making her happy were, he was really reaching out for someone who genuinely cares about him again, and it helps that she’s also the daughter of the two people he once viewed as parental figures... and also Kipo’s just naturally empathetic and sees the good in people...
Then she was willing to sacrifice her humanity for a stadium full of mutes and Lio pulled him out of danger... so I’m reaaaallly hoping they keep this potential redemption going... bc really Hugo and Kipo are perfect mirrors of each other... very Zuko/Aang reminiscent... Hugo the animal experiment that was given human hopes and dreams and abilities, only to be thrust into a confusing and scary place with strange powers, and seemingly betrayed by the people he loves most... Kipo, the human experiment, with typical hopes and dreams but is forced into a confusing and scary place with strange powers, and finds out her whole birth and life has been a lie...
One of them just came out of it better...
Secondly... Kipo’s inner Mega-Jaguar scene = Naruto and the Nine-Tails Fox???
Like slowly learning to control the little bits of power that sneak through... being able to change between forms at will provided there is something anchoring her human half... that whole water/mirror/internal Jaguar sequence?!?!... USING THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP TO GET A GRIP ON HER HUMANITY?!?!
ACCESSING AN EVOLVED FORM OF HERSELF WHISLT THINKING OF THE PEOPLE SHE WANTED TO SAVE?!?!
Yo if that ain’t Naruto idk what is...
Next we have Mom the Monkey...
Wasn’t too hard of a leap to figure out... I probably clocked into it maybe mid ep 1?? Idk what triggered it but yeah don’t think that was meant to be a difficult leap to make... that aside, I like that they didn’t have Song immediately change back or have her wits about her when Mulholland helped free her from the pheromones... she’s been a monkey for 13 years, under the control of Dr Emilia, she hasn’t spoken and she didn’t have little moments to control her powers like Kipo... so figuring out how to change her back is a good ongoing mission to have I think... it also makes the fact that Kipo was the one to get through to her in the first place even more powerful and that’s SO dope...
Lio... yknow what when grown ups in these types of stories have regrets and the children are dealing with their consequences it can be very frustrating... but I like that Lio is more than willing to reflect on his past mistakes (valid tho it was that he had no choice but to grab Kipo and run before Emilia could get to her) and is also willing to ACT ON IT...he gives Kipo’s ideas a chance and its even shown for real when Scarlemagne forced him to tell the truth... Hugo was a child he raised and he doesn’t want to leave him behind anymore... even if he’s done so much bad... I’m also glad they showed Kipo expressing disappointment in her fathers actions, empathy for Hugo’s pain, but that didn’t mean she was suddenly disillusioned to her father and what kind of person he is... that can also be a very frustrating aspect of these types of plot lines...
Benson and his darling potentially mutual crush, Troy? What else can i say but beautiful first awkward teen crush PERFECTION! Both of them blushing when Benson ended up on top of Troy after tackling Troy out of the way of a rampaging Pierre? Troy kissing him on the cheek? Troy helping Benson out of the pit and the same falling in love music playing while Benson gazed up at Troy?? TROY AND BENSON HOLDING HANDS WHILE SCARED AND CLINGING TO EACH OTHER?!?!?
TROY BEING AT LEAST PARTIALLY (Latino? Hispanic?) MEANING EVEN MORE POC CHARACTERS AS MAINS LIKE HECK YEAH!!!
Sidenote: a good chunk of the music is like... “rap” music and they always hit during fight scenes and it’s great...
Also: the Kipo title sequence? A bop we must never forget...
SPEAKING OF BOPS WE MUST NEVER FORGET: Heroes on Fire... a karaoke classic I must learn... used with the Power of Friendship can turn a mega mute back to human...
Also also my love and life Jamack??? Continuing to help Kipo out even if he’s a total tsundere about it?!?! LITERALLY CANNOT STOP HIMSELF FROM HELPING HER?!?! I love him... and I want him to join the gang... so bad...
ALSO. The whole second episode was basically about cheese.
Feta. Gouda. Chevre. Fromage.
Idk about that whole... Soothsayer meets the Grey Sisters (Greek mythology? Three sisters, one eye, one tooth? Is that what they’re called?) business with the cheese but whatever it was fun... they were just straight up tossing knives at Kipo to get her latent powers to activate and that was hilarious... also Mr Miyagi moment I guess XD but it means Kipo’s created a whole brain pathway between Herbs in/Herbs out and how she controls her powers and she even mentions that...
Also mega bummed about Ratland burning down...
I also wanna know what was up with the sentient Fun Gus and why it had the mind of a child...
FINALLY: our new big bad - Dr Emilia...
WHAT COMPLETELY TOOK ME BY SURPRISE WAS IT WASNT SCARLEMAGNE WHO PUT HER UNDER HIS CONTROL BUT FRIGGEN THESE CLOAKED HUMANS...Monkey Mom wasn’t a surprise but THAT sure was
We’re really leaning into the one race supremacy theme here huh? But also the reckless and callous treatment of animals and the earth by humans... without regard for how they feel... and after mutating and having and being able to communicate their thoughts and feelings and dreams, Emilia still thinks it would be better to remove that and return them to just animals...
Fascinated to see where they go from here...anyway... go watch Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts so we can get a season 3 babeyyyyy

Last night I watched the first seven episodes of Hannibal instead of sleeping, then I managed to pass out in the early morning and subsequently sleep through both my alarms and miss class. Anyway, I blame you for introducing me to this show because now I'm obsessed.
rip to your classes, anon — hereafter, you should try to make those on time fdhjdfkjdf —  but i’m glad you’re enjoying it !!! iirc, ep 8 is fromage, which is one of my favorites because while i have. Objections with the scientific practicality of some choices made by some characters in the episode’s particular case, it IS just so very fun. i think fromage is around when fuller stopped pretending hannibal is anything approaching a Serious Crime Show and just started to have FUN.

what do you think is the happiest/most light-hearted episode of hannibal?
God this is a tough one... happiness in Hannibal is a distorted thing; either the presence of happiness (or contentedness) exists in a sphere of dramatic irony, or has a doomed quality to it, where we as the audience know that what exists between them is going to quickly be taken away, or it’s mutilated by what we know of the characters. Especially in a rewatchーlike how Beverly being Will’s defender goes from heart-warming in the first watch to a slow terrifying crawl into the inevitable in every watch afterwards. Or how in Dolce Will and Hannibal’s reunion is so warm and sweet and is quickly, suddenly, ruined by themselves.
The first episode of Season 3 is probably objectively the most light-hearted as a stand-alone, because it’s just sort of Hannibal living his best life (or trying to) while Bedelia is exasperated. It begins with a sense of humour as well. It’s Hannibal but through Hannibal’s perspective. However it isn’t super light-hearted because the reason for its sole focus on Hannibal and Bedelia is because we have no idea which of our beloved characters are dead. And the absence of Will Graham is potent. But I think like, in comparison to everything else? Probably that. Others that this question made me think of:
I would say Fromage is among one of the most... not light-hearted, but sweet? Episodes of the first season. The first season is particularly hard for me to rewatchーin my experienceーbecause it’s so infused with this terrible descent into madness, the awareness of manipulation, Will being powerless yet finally opening himself up to trusting someone, and then it’s destroyed... but Fromage, while still having that manipulation in it (you can’t escape it in season one especially) is still kind of sweet and almost fun. Like it’s dark, and grotesque, and still infused with dramatic irony, but it still has like a tenderness to it, and a silliness, and its fair dose of humour.
Yakimono from second season? It’s still wounding after Beverly, and it’s incredibly unfortunate for Chilton (poor Chilton), but there are good elements to it: the return of Miriam Lass which is almost a victory for Jack, Will’s release, and Chilton going to Will for help or support does have like its humour. And Will has reclaimed a certain power; this completely changes the dynamic between Hannibal and Will. For the first time, not only does Will know what Hannibal is, but he’s also free. It is very sad for Will and Alana though.
Su-zakana is a bit grim, but it does have comedic elementsーonce you’re passed the initial horror of a first watch, the social worker in a horse thing is immediately funny as hellーand it does have a lot of intrigue, and there’s nothing doomed yet about them. Everyone is sort of... on good terms again. And it’s very fun dynamics.
If anybody else has thoughts on what they consider to be among the most light-hearted or happy episodes please share! I wanna see what people think. There’s probably eps I’m missing haha, it’s been a while since my last full-bodied rewatch.

Biz Markie
Tumblr media
Marcel Theo Hall (born April 8, 1964), better known by his stage name Biz Markie, is an American rapper, beatboxer, DJ, actor, comedian, television personality and spokesperson. He is best known for his 1989 single "Just a Friend", which became a Top 40 hit in several countries. In 2008, "Just a Friend" made #100 on VH1's list of the 100 greatest hip hop songs of all time.
Markie has been called the "Clown Prince of Hip Hop."
Early life
Markie's career began on Long Island and he graduated from Patchogue Medford High School in 1982."Biz Markie Shows, Concerts, & Tickets 2020". EventBrite.com. Retrieved March 29, 2020.
Career
1980s
Biz Markie was interviewed in the 1986 cult documentary Big Fun In The Big Town. Markie released his debut album, Goin' Off, in 1988, which attracted a fair amount of attention, largely due to the lead single, "Make the Music With Your Mouth, Biz". The album also featured the underground hit singles "Nobody Beats The Biz", "Vapors", and "Pickin' Boogers".
On October 10, 1989, Biz Markie's second studio album, The Biz Never Sleeps, was released on Cold Chillin'/Warner Bros. Records, produced by Biz, his cousin Cool V and Paul C. The single "Just a Friend", in which he alternates between rap and singing, became Markie's most successful single, reaching #9 on the Billboard charts.
The song interpolates the 1968 song "You Got What I Need" by singer/songwriter Freddie Scott, whose basic chord and melody provided the base for the song's chorus. "Just A Friend" was ranked 81st on VH1's 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders in 2000, and later as number 100 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop in 2008.
The music video, directed by Lionel C. Martin, chronicles the rapper's woman problems.
1990s
Markie's third studio album I Need a Haircut was released on August 27, 1991, on Cold Chillin'/Warner Bros. Records and was produced by Biz Markie and his cousin Cool V. Sales of the album were already low when Markie was served a lawsuit by Gilbert O'Sullivan, who claimed that the album's "Alone Again" featured an unauthorized sample from his hit "Alone Again (Naturally)". O'Sullivan's claim was upheld in a landmark ruling, Grand Upright Music, Ltd. v. Warner Bros. Records Inc., that altered the landscape of hip-hop, finding that all samples must be cleared with the original artist before being used. In accordance with the ruling, Warner Bros., the parent company of Cold Chillin', had to pull I Need a Haircut from circulation, and all companies had to clear samples with the samples' creators before releasing the records. This development reflected the increasing popularity of hip-hop and the financial stakes over which releases were set. Biz responded in 1993 with the mischievously titled All Samples Cleared!, but his career had been hurt by the publicity emanating from the lawsuit, and the record suffered accordingly. Additional bad news came when the video for the track 'Toilet Stool Rap' was labeled Worst Video of the Year on the Fromage show from Canada's MuchMusic.
For the remainder of the decade, Markie occasionally made television appearances, including guest appearances on In Living Color (including as contestant Damian "Foosball" Franklin in the recurring game show sketch "The Dirty Dozens" and as Marlon Cain in "Ed Bacon: Guidance Counselor") and in a 1996 freestyle rap commercial on MTV2. He also made numerous guest appearances with the Beastie Boys on Check Your Head (1992), Ill Communication (1994), Hello Nasty (1998), and their anthology The Sounds of Science (1999). He also rapped on the song "Schizo Jam", on Don Byron's 1998 release, Nu Blaxploitation (Blue Note/Capitol) and worked with Canibus on the first track on the Office Space soundtrack (1999). He also rapped on the track "So Fresh" alongside Slick Rick on Will Smith's 1999 album Willennium.
In 1996, Markie appeared on the Red Hot Organization's compilation CD, America is Dying Slowly, alongside Wu-Tang Clan, Coolio, and Fat Joe, among others. The CD, meant to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African American men, was heralded as a masterpiece by The Source magazine.
In 1997, a sample of a Markie recording appeared in the Rolling Stones' song "Anybody Seen My Baby?" from their album Bridges to Babylon. His part was shortened on some radio versions. Biz also teamed up with Frankie Cutlass on his third single and music video titled "The Cypher Part 3" with some of Marley Marl's Juice Crew veterans.
In 1999, Markie appeared on Len's song "Beautiful Day" on their album You Can't Stop the Bum Rush, as well as on Alliance Ethnik's album Fat Comeback.
2000s
In 2002, Markie appeared in Men in Black II, with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, essentially playing an alien parody of himself, whose native language sounded exactly like beatboxing. Between 2002 and 2003 he appeared in episode 5 of the TV series Fastlane playing himself as a nightclub DJ. In 2003 he appeared in the international television series titled Kung Faux performing a series of voice over characters featured in a variety of episodes. In 2004, his song Vapors appeared on the soundtrack of Rockstar's popular videogame Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which featured an old school hip hop radio station, Playback FM. In 2005, Biz detoured from his recording duties to appear on the first season of the television show Celebrity Fit Club which challenged celebrities to lose weight by a combination of diet and exercise. Biz Markie lost more weight than anybody else in the competition. That year, he was also in an episode of The Andy Milonakis Show.
Biz Markie was a cast member on Nick Cannon's Wild 'n Out, seasons 1 and 3. Biz also does the beatboxing segment, Biz's Beat of the Day on the Nick Jr. show Yo Gabba Gabba!.
Biz Markie began 2008 opening for Chris Rock's "No Apologies" tour. Biz Markie's act includes spinning records ranging from old school hip hop to Lynyrd Skynyrd and then performing "Just a Friend". Biz Markie's playlist includes the following: "Children's Story" by Slick Rick, "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang, "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, "Holiday" by Madonna, "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham!, "It Takes Two" by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock, "The Breaks" by Kurtis Blow and "Robot Rock" by Daft Punk.
