I finished the book Hooked by Emily Mcintire and honestly I NEED MORE. I was down bad for mister James hook the ENTIRE time. He could hook me and I would simply say “thank you” like a good girl.
What had me flabbergasted was the SMUT! I ate it all up. The smut was a 5/5 🌶️ and the plot 5/5😋 was all was fascinating. I was intrigued by how the author used the characters and twisted them in some way. Also the peterpan references were phenomenal. There wasn’t a dull moment within this book and I have to say I think it’s my fav book this month.
Keep reading sexy mf’s <3

“You want to watch the world burn?”
“Let me guess, you’ll set it on fire?”
“No, darling. I’ll hand you the match and stand at your back, watching you become queen of the ashes.”

This came out today (August 1, 2023) and I had to pick it up on KU- and I can’t wait til I can go and buy this! Please go give good vibes and some love to the author on her TikTok page, she was able to get this written, edited, and put out on release date all while fighting cancer and going through chemotherapy.
5/5
This is the 5th book of The Never After series, and this one is with Frolo and Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I am so glad I grabbed this up.
Coming into this book was so good- it was amazing to get back into a book by Emily McIntire, her writing his very well crafted, just down right enjoyable, and immersive. Every book in this series has a playlist- but you best believe I had Hellfire, Out There and God Help the Outcasts on repeat as I devoured this today. (Covers, the Disney, the musicals didn’t matter as long as it was those songs)
I also think that was the quickest for having the MMC killing someone on page. It happened in the prologue- BUT I could be wrong on that- just it felt like it was right out the gate in this one.
I loved the dynamic of these characters. Cade switching from French to English was an amazing touch.
There is a child that is autistic, and I will die for them. Even more so after finding out that they are inspired by/representing Emily McIntire’s own child. I would die for Quin like no joke.
After reading Priest and now this one- I need more like these. To help explore this fascination. I am also really sad that now we only have one more book to this series.
