Autumn Foraging Themed Embroidery Kit from CraftpodExtras
The theme for the Autumn 2022 Craftpod is ‘FORAGE’. You will receive two cosy stitching projects to nourish you as the nights draw in.
The design of the first project is of a foraging basket, and the food and foliage which has been collected in it. This project uses appliqué and embroidery which is stitched in a 6 inch hoop onto organic printed calico. We’ve included colours and textures for you to cut out to arrange on your foraging table and in your basket. You can have fun with this and come up with your own designs, or follow the suggested pattern shown. In addition, you could stitch little pieces of found twigs or dried foliage onto your hoop.
The second project is a handy little lined zip-up coin purse made from printed fabric designed by Immi especially for this box. It becomes just the right size for coins and a payment card to fit inside.
We’ve also included a recipe card for a yummy Hazelnut, Fig, and Apple Cake. This is a deliciously moist and nutty autumnal cake. You could add a teaspoon of ginger if you like a little extra warmth, or swop the figs out for pears. The recipe uses a cream cheese frosting, but you could alternatively enjoy it warm with custard, or a dollop of Greek yoghurt drizzled with honey.
You’ll also find a gorgeous vintage Chanterelle mushroom postcard, and of course tea to enjoy with your cake!
One of my favourite things to do is take cute, innocent-looking craft projects and turn them into something… less so.
This is a gift I made recently for a friend. As soon as she started opening it she said, “Is it sweary?”, and was SO excited when she discovered that yes, indeed it was 😄
This is the first time I’ve done some of these stitches since I was at school (I’ve had an extremely long break from embroidery), and some are my first attempt ever. It’s far from perfect (and fyi metallic thread’s a fkg nightmare to work with!), but I think that makes it all the more special 😅

I got some embroidery kits for Christmas from my parent in laws. The last time I did any embroidery was in May so I chose the kit that seemed the easiest to ease me back into it. And it reminded me why I enjoy embroidery.
Ofc, all the kits have a cat on them 😂 I'm starting to think at this rate I'm going to have to get a cat so I can actually be 'the crazy cat lady' 😂
My first two embroideries I made about 2 years ago, both from kits from Joann. The stag with the flowers is what REALLY sold it for me that I love this hobby!

My first bead embroidery DIY tutorial 🥳 Delicate and light weight monstera leaf earrings or pendant💚 Step by step PDF tutorial (+video of most difficult moments) for beginners. I also made 2 kits (each contains materials for 3 leaves) . Welcome to my small store of handmade jewelry and .... tutorials now☺
Finally finished the solid stitching, and by golly am I glad of that.
This kit has not been enjoyable at all as it ended up having 15 thread colours undersupplied that I had to replace with equivalent DMC threads. Significant sections in Q3 & 4, and all of the clouds in Q4 are composed of equivalent threads. The Q4 clouds also look different under certain lighting conditions to the Q3 clouds as the conversion thread equivalents were substantially different from supplied threads; I had to colour match as best I could & unpick that whole section 3 times as I worked through thread equivalent options.
Needless to say I sent the production company of the Dimensions Gold cross stitch kits a complaint as this is the worst quality kit from this line I have ever done in my 30 years of stitching.
