Sweet Like Chocolate (Venom Drabble)
Tumblr media
Eddie/Venom x GN!Reader / requests are open
Summary: Venom's enjoys it when you're his host.
CW: fluff, making fun of Eddie
Venom Tag List: (send an ask to be added to a tag list!)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___
WE ARE NOT A BABY.
You tut and continue about making Venom’s tater tots. It hadn’t really been a genuine thought. It’s just that when you and Eddie trade Venom between you like parents trading a toddler for alone time, it kind of felt that way at times. Not that you were complaining, of course. Any time with Venom piggybacking in your head was time well spent in your own personal opinion.
It was just a shame that you weren’t a better match. Then he could come around with you more often. But no, that was Eddie’s responsibility, it would seem.
“I know, V- you know how human brains work. Thoughts just pop in unannounced.”
I WILL ALLOW IT.

You chuckle and pour yourself a glass of wine. A tendril of Venom’s form spreads from your back to put the wine bottle away for you, and you thank him kindly. Checking the timer on the tots, you frown. They were going to be at least another fifteen minutes.
“What do you want to do tonight, V?” You ask, plopping down on the lounge chair and taking a sip.
WE WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU.
You smile softly, and Venom chuckles in your brain in response. That took some getting used to, actually, hearing someone laugh in your mind. But like all things, you acclimated.
“We’re doing that, buddy,” you reply.
YOU ARE FAR NICER THAN EDDIE. EDDIE IS MEAN.
You take another swig of your wine and flick the TV on quietly, flipping through to get to Venom’s favourite channel.
“How do you mean? Eddie’s a sweetie deep down,” you respond, finally finding the channel and putting the subtitles on for yourself. Eddie was always a sweetie. It was just that he was a bit gruff. Venom grunts.
EDDIE’S AN ASSHOLE.
You hear the bathroom door creak open and turn around, seeing Venom’s tendril rooting around in there for something. You don’t question it further than that, knowing that whatever he’s looking for will be found.
You’re proven correct when the tendril returns with your hairbrush. You dutifully fluff your hair out from the neck of your cardigan for Venom, who hums appreciatively and begins to brush at your hair.
It’s something he likes to do for you. You’re not sure whether it’s because he enjoys the sensation himself, or whether it’s something he does for you. It could be both, all things considered. Your eyes flutter shut, and you lose yourself in the motions for a few minutes.
“He can be an ass,” you finally acquiesce. “But he means well.”
Venom’s head materialises from over your shoulder and faces you. His tendril pauses its ministrations in your hair for a moment, and he appears thoughtful.
“I suppose,” Venom replies. “We prefer you. Prettier host.”
You flush pink and brush a hand over Venom’s cheek. Or what would be his cheek, you supposed?
“You’re a sweet thing, V.”
Venom nods, ripples of his skin flowing over his form.
“Like chocolate, yes?”
You laugh and make to get up when the timer for the tater tots goes off.
“Like chocolate.”

Ooh what about venom x reader where venom gets super excited when Eddie falls asleep because he can have reader all to himself and he wakes her up so he can fuck her??
this post is 18+, minors dni.
contents/warnings: monsterfucking/alien fucking, i think this is technically dubcon? cause venom doesn't get verbal consent from reader but i assure you it is consensual
You'd fallen asleep in the warm embrace of flushed skin, but when you wake its to a cool stickiness that closes itself over your mouth. You're hit with the feeling of being trapped, your nerves light like fuses that singe at your insides, but you breathe through your nose and it only takes you a second to realize what's happening.
Venom.
You're no stranger to the alien symbiote that inhabits Eddie's body, but it's still somewhat of a shock to feel a stray tendril snaking around your thigh. Which is exactly what's happening, and you presume it's why Venom has your mouth covered.
"Easy, pet," He purrs, his voice devilishly gruff where his head protrudes from Eddie's shoulder to leer down at you, grin sharp glistening with saliva, "Eddie is sleeping."
A sideways glance at your boyfriend reveals that he is, in fact, unconscious, his cheek smushed rather unflatteringly against the pillow while drool seeps into the white fabric. It means that Venom can't take over Eddie completely unless he wants to risk Eddie waking, and you're guessing by the sly grip on your leg that he does not want that.
You reach up to pry at the tentacle that's suckered itself against your lips but Venom doesn't let up, chuckling darkly instead.
"No, Y/N, I cannot uncover your mouth," He explains, and the way that your stomach lurches when his tentacle strokes experimentally against your now-eager clit makes you believe him, "If I did, you would not be able to keep quiet. I plan to make you scream."

•───────────────★•♛•★──────────────•
The floorboards creaked loudly beneath heavy footsteps, protesting loudly with each heavy step that thumped upon the thin wood. Muffled and echoing, a phone buzzed in a hidden pocket; another missed call that made his towering frame shake its great head.
The keys clattered upon the kitchen side, white marble left with a long orange smear in the shape of a clawed hand. The air felt still and stale, as if his very presence made atoms freeze in terror. Hulking and towering, it was difficult to squeeze into the doorframe.
All was quiet, not even the noise in the walls dared to scuttle and squeak. Yet the fire crackled and cracked as it stayed bright and alive; a beacon that shone upon thick black legs that dripped with something dark and sticky.
He could not change back just yet, lugging his heavy body around until he reached the dimly lit room; he paused, almost in tender curiosity as he tilted his head to the side.
Dripping onto the fine wooden floor as he breathed easily, steadily, for once that night; the white eyes followed as he trained his focus upon whoever was sitting with their back to him, legs dangled over the side of the chair and a can of something fizzy and repugnant resting on the coffee table, dripping condensation.
He could smell it, even from his position a few steps away, that fizzy can of poison; his upper lip curled, exposing sharp and jagged yellowish teeth. A sneer, almost a snarl. Shaking his head, he took a few careful steps forward, and dropped to his knees in front of the chair with a thud.
You took immediate notice, furrowing your brows as you looked him up and down.
"Venom," you said softly. "Why is there blood on your hands?"
Venom rested his hands on his thighs, and shrugged. His voice was a deep growl, a soft thunder that crawled up your spine with deft tendrils and made you shiver. "We had to eat."
"Right," you said, nodding along. "And what did you eat, exactly?"
He closed his mouth completely, shaking his head slowly; he couldn't tell you. He couldn't tell anyone. Nobody could ever know. It wasn't that he meant to, well, he did, but he didn't think it would have been so risky.
In short images, Venom could remember it clearly. The tall man with brown hair and a bearded jaw, scars littering his face and his dark brown eyes glittering with something Venom didn't quite understand; Eddie said the tall man was a bad name by the name of Russo. Not even Frank Castle liked him.
Venom had pinned Russo against a damp, dark wall in an alley, licking his lips as he stretched his jaws wide; he didn't think his claws sunk in so deep, until he felt the blood squelch and squish on his skin as he devoured that tall man piece by piece.
Digging through the cavity in the chest to get to the heart; sticking his clawed fingers under the eyes and slowly prying them out. Biting down on them and laughing when they popped in his mouth, spraying blood and juices all over his teeth and tongue.
Venom had enjoyed every bite, every mouthful.
But when Eddie explained that Russo was very well connected, and there would undoubtedly be consequences, Venom knew that he couldn't tell you anything; the less you knew, the easier it would be to protect you.
He swallowed thickly, moving to sit with his legs crossed under his hulking body as he played with the carpet, not even bothering to look at you with those milky, pupilless, eyes.
"Venom," you pressed. "What did you do?"
"I'm here for you," Venom said softly.
"Yeah, well, I didn't expect you to come," you admitted, shaking your head.
A quick glance. "Of course I came, you called."
You glanced back, shaking your head. "You're covered in blood."
"You needed help," he pointed out.
You rolled your eyes as you shook your head again. "I'll be fine. What did you do?"
"Quid pro quo," Venom grinned. He had learned that from a film that Eddie had watched with you.
"Calm down, Hannibal the Cannibal," you growled, although there was a hint of a smile upon your lips as you moved to sit directly opposite him with your back against the chair. "I asked first."
"We ate someone," Venom murmured. "Why did you need help?"
You plucked a stray string from the carpet. "It happened again."
Slowly, he nodded. He knew what it meant, and didn't need further clarification as he cleared his throat, tilting his head to the side and dropping his voice so that it was even quieter than it had been.
A distant rumble, like shells being dropped on the trenches in No Man's Land. He stood, hunched over slightly so that he didn't hit his head on the ceiling light; slowly, he crossed over to the speaker, and switched it on. The sound of 'You're All I Need' by Motley Crue filling the room gently before he sat back down again. He grumbled, blinking slowly at you for a moment.
"You'd let me get away with murder."
"I'd help you hide the body and give you an alibi. Very different things." You chuckled, shaking your head.
"The same," Venom mused, slowly lying down with his back on the carpet, staring at you as his long, thick tongue swiped along his front row of teeth. "We love you."
"I know," you whispered, lying down next to him. "I love you both, too."
"Eddie wants to sing along," he hummed.
"I don't mind," you muttered.
"You're all I need, make you only mine, I loved you so I set you free, I had to take your life, you're all I need, you're all I need," Venom started, his voice becoming mixed and mangled with Eddie's. "And I loved you but you didn't love me. Laid out cold, now we're both alone, but killing you helped me keep you home."
"I guess it was bad, 'cause love can be sad, but we finally made the news," you joined in. "Tied up smiling, I thought you were happy, never opened your eyes, I thought you were napping, I got so much to learn bbout love in this world, but we finally made the news."
Your phone buzzed from its place beside your drink, but you couldn't bring yourself to go and check it; it was a news notification from the local papers, reporting that the police had discovered the body of Billy Russo - or what was left of him.
You looked at Venom with a beaming smile, closing your eyes as you pressed your face to the side of his neck, your hand on his gooey chest. You would stay put.

roma!!! this was so fun to write thank youu so much for the ask. eddie brock hottest man alive
fem!reader x neighbour!eddie brock (no venom lol sorry)
Eddie’s been watching you for an embarrassing amount of time. He can see you out of his kitchen window, and although he’s supposed to be doing the dishes, he keeps glancing out the window in hopes of catching another glimpse of you.
You’re re-painting the side of your house with a fresh coat of paint, perched on a ladder that doesn’t look too safe, if he’s being honest. Paintbrush in hand and a paint pot balanced precariously on the ladder rung next to your hip, you’re very immersed in your work. Which is lucky, otherwise you probably would’ve noticed his staring.
Eddie finishes washing the dishes (which took him about an hour, what with all the spying on you) and he’s about to go and see you — purely to check the stability of your ladder, of course, nothing else — but before he can work up the courage there’s a yelp from outside followed by a thud that sounds suspiciously like Eddie’s too late.
He races to the nearest window and peers out and his heart drops when he an empty ladder. Soon enough he spots you, lying on your back in your well-tended grass. He doesn’t think. He’s out the door in a matter of seconds.
“Y/N!” He calls, rounding the fence that separates your houses. The heap on the grass that’s you lifts it’s head. “Y/N, are you alright?”
You sit up just as Eddie reaches you, rubbing the back of your head, dazed. “Eddie?”
Eddie doesn’t have time to think about how pretty you look right now. There’s a paint splotch on your cheek and the same colour is speckled all over your fingers. He gets to his knees in the grass.
“Hey, are you okay?” His hand finds your shoulder. “Did you fall?”
You giggle. “No, I just decided I’d lie on the grass for a bit,” you deadpan. “Yes, I fell, Eddie, but I’m fine.”
Eddie doesn’t even half believe you. His hand slides to the space between your shoulder blades. “Are you sure? You were pretty high up.”
He realises a second too late he’s exposed himself. You seem to realise the very same thing.
“Were you watching me?” You ask, squinting at him, but you’re smiling at least.
Eddie backtracks. “What? No, I just— I saw you out the window, and—“
“I’m joking, Eddie,” you laugh. “Help me up, will you?”
He helps you, wondering how on earth you manage to be so pretty and funny and sweet all at the same time. He feels dizzy when he stands, even though you’re the one that fell off a ladder.
Once you’re standing you try to take a step but your success is short lived. The second you put weight on your left foot you’re hissing in pain.
“Ow,” you groan, toppling sideways into Eddie. He catches you, thankfully, one hand gripping your forearm and the other around your waist. He’d think about how close you are to him but he’s too busy worrying. He can think about it later.
“What’s the matter?” He demands, panicked now that you actually look like you’re in pain, your face all screwed up and your hand clinging to his elbow.
“My ankle,” you explain, pointing in the general direction of your foot. “Hurts.”
Eddie, heart racing, manages to get you to your porch and sit you down on one of the chairs. He props your foot up on the little table you sit at to read in the mornings. (Not that he watches you read in the morning. He just happened to notice it a few times.)
He assesses your ankle and deems it sprained. He takes you inside and puts you on your couch while you complain.
“Eddie, seriously, you don’t have to do this. I’m fine, I can—“
“Do you have ice?” He interrupts your pointless rambling as he straightens up from helping you into your seat.
You frown at him, all fake offended. It’s awfully cute. “No. But I have frozen corn. In my freezer in the bottom drawer.”
Eddie leaves to find your frozen corn and when he comes back he finds you slumped on the couch, looking tired and defeated. You’re both silent as he lifts your foot onto the coffee table and presses your pack of frozen corn kernels against your ankle. When he finally looks at your face you’re smiling at him, droopy eyes and all.
“Thanks,” you say. “Feels nice.”
Eddie chuckles. “Mhm, I bet it does. You know you should be more careful. You’re lucky it’s not broken.”
You rolls your eyes, a smile on your lips. “Gee, thanks.”
“I’m not kidding around,” Eddie argues, “Really. Next time just ask me and I’ll come over and paint it for you.”
There’s a silent promise in his words. Yeah, he’ll paint your house. He’ll do whatever you want him to do. All you have to do is ask.
“Okay,” you say, your voice taking on this soft, sweet tone that feels both familiar and foreign all at once.
Eddie straightens up, deciding if he stays here any longer he might fall in love with you. As if he hasn’t already.
“Keep it elevated,” he tells you. “And keep the ice on it. I’ll come check on you in the morning, okay? But call me if it gets worse. Even if it’s the middle of the night.”
You grin at him and give him a tired salute. “Thanks, Doctor Brock.”
Eddie grimaces at you. “Don’t ever call me that again, please.”
You giggle. “Sorry. Thanks, Eddie.”
Eddie smiles back, totally lovelorn. “Yeah, you’re welcome.”
He finishes the paint job for you. And he brings dinner over, even though you tell him over the phone that he doesn’t have to. It’s safe to say he’s fallen even harder than you.

Uncovering Truths

Title: Uncovering Truths
Request: Fic with Eddie from Venom where after Anne he meets a reader and they start dating and he’s anxious about telling them about Venom but their fine with it For: Anonymous
Rating: T
Word Count: 1,631
Tag List: @dreamlandcreations / ask to be added
After his relationship with Anne ended, Eddie had figured he would take some time before dating again. He hadn't wanted to rush into one relationship having just come out of a rather serious one. Of course, after Anne came Venom and taking a break from romantic relationships seemed to be the one and only outcome of that situation. Certainly it wasn't like he could just go up to someone, ask them out, and then explain that he had a symbiotic relationship with an alien that had managed to attach itself to him.
Because that was such a simple concept to process.
The biggest relationship he had in his life for a period of time was indeed Venom. With Carlton Drake out of the picture, Eddie and Venom needed to learn to get along. Couples therapy probably would have been a good help but Eddie wasn't entirely certain that there were alien friendly therapists in San Francisco. So the human and the alien took time to work on working together.
It had taken months for that relationship to actually grow and become stronger than it had at the start of the forced symbiosis. Now the two were somewhat on the same page, or at least cooperating enough to the point where Eddie felt that maybe it was time to gain back some experience in human relationships. Venom of course just threatened to eat everyone if they didn't get along with Eddie.
Eddie hadn't really dated in some time. There were apps he could download he knew, except they felt impersonal to him. He didn't want to be set up by anyone although Anne had offered and out of everyone he knew, she was the one who he would trust the most. Of course Eddie was stuck on these principles, even if they did come to mean quite a few first dates (and only first dates), as well as three relationships that lasted between six weeks and four months.
Eventually those dates, those relationships, they didn't matter. They stopped being stories to tell Anne, stopped being dates he thought about because he wondered if he had judged too quickly, too harshly. Stopped — because he had met you.
A few publishers had approached Eddie for a book about Carlton Drake and the Life Foundation after the initial interview that had gotten him fired resurfaced after the truth had indeed come to light. While this was tempting, a chance to tell the story that he'd been trying to uncover for the longest time, he knew that the truth wasn't something that would be easily accepted. He declined the offers although he instead decided to privately work on a copy that would indeed reveal the existence of Venom and the other Symbiotes on the incredibly rare chance that one day he could actually tell the real story.
Eddie had been running late to work on the book, missing his alarm and sleeping an extra hour. Technically there were only deadlines that he'd put in place but he still wanted to have a few chapters completed in the next few weeks. The coffee shop not far from his house had let him write there since he was just a struggling journalist take whatever story he could get. Still, it did get busy and by the time Eddie burst through the door, there were no empty tables.
He scanned the room as he searched for at least someone that he might he be able to approach to share a table. His eyes landed on you, sitting off in the corner by the window with a book that he'd read years ago but remembered enough of that he knew he could use it as a talking point in starting the conversation. Eddie had fully be prepared to be turned away yet you smiled at him letting him join you. You didn't stay for much longer as you had to run errands but told Eddie that it was nice meeting him. It wasn't until he was getting ready to leave hours later that he realized you'd left your number on a post it stuck to his laptop.
That was seven months ago, seven months that the two of you had been dating and seven months that he'd been keeping Venom a secret from you.
Venom had to be kept a secret, that was what Eddie had told himself when you entered his life. Venom wasn't all that pleased, wanting to meet you right away but came to an agreement with Eddie that you wouldn't know until Eddie decided it was time. Granted Eddie didn't think that time would ever come. It was only a matter of time before the secret of Venom weighed heavily upon him. He wanted you to know. At the same time he didn't want to lose you.
He wondered at first if he could get away with a confession in a letter. He knew the answer was no, that if he told you about Venom you would need to see that he wasn't lying. You'd seen the news coverage about Venom, you wouldn't be questioning if he was real just if the connection with Eddie was. Letter was out, which automatically put and email, a text, or a phone call out of the question. As much as he was utterly terrified about your reaction he knew that telling you about Venom could only be done in person.
Eddie knew he couldn't put off telling you for any longer, the truth had to be revealed soon enough. If you weren't suspicious about his behavior at times or theorized reasons why he might have been acting off, then he believed the doubts would be coming soon. Still, he wanted to make what he assumed might be the last day with you, a special one and at the same time, something completely ordinary.
Truly you hadn't suspected much of anything until you walked in the door to find that Eddie had prepared one of your favorite dinners. His behavior prior had never been secretive, had never caused you to worry. Certainly there were times when you felt he might have been hiding something but given the fact that he was a journalist and keeping his sources secret was part of the job description, you let yourself believe that a story was the reason for the oddity.
Now there were no excuses to make for him. Eddie mumbled out a brief greeting before turning back towards the stove as you set your keys down and kicked off your shoes. You wanted to say something, to broach the subject of what was going on because you didn't want the suspense of thinking that everything was coming to an end. You might have done so if not for the simple fact that you didn't want anything to end. Didn't want what you had with Eddie to end.
Dinner was quiet, brief moments of the conversations you would have typically had being set up and torn down in mere seconds. Eddie was avoiding the subject, you were avoiding asking. Neither of you wanted to be the person who started the journey to the end. Eddie knew it had to be him though, it was his secret and not yours to try and figure out. The television playing in the background fell to commercials and there was nothing left to keep Eddie from pretending to be distracted.
"I need to tell you something" he spoke.
You nodded, "Go on."
Eddie paused, he knew what the truth was, knew that this was the intent always, still. Still there was always a chance to change the facts, to lie. Of course he didn't get that luxury and he knew it. Venom wasn't something he could keep from anyone forever, the truth was there and it needed to be told.
"I never really told you the truth about Carlton Drake, about what happened the first time I interviewed him or what happened after. I know I should have except I'm sure you wouldn't have believed me. You still might not believe me."
"I trust you Eddie, whatever it is you can be honest you know that."
"I'm Venom"
There it was, all laid bare before you. And you were staring at him as though he'd just told you that he was a werewolf. He wondered if that was easier to believe. Venom of course had taken his name as an announcement to appear and your gaze traveled from Eddie to the Symbiote that made his appearance, greeting you and threatening to eat you all in the same sentence.
Eddie had a lot of theories as to how you would react after the truth was told, you laughing was not one of them.
"Oh that's so much better than you breaking up with me. I was trying to figure out who I was going to call and where I was going to go. This is nothing."
"Nothing!" Eddie and Venom shouted at the same time.
"Ok ok. Venom, you're not nothing I'm sorry. And Eddie, it's weird, I'm not going to lie, but we can work with it."
Venom nodded and emphasized that it was important to be considered not nothing. Eddie on the other hand kept uttering words that didn't seem to make any sense. However you knew what his question was.
"Look. It's not normal but you know it's not normal which is why you kept it a secret for so long. Venom is a part of you and I love you so I'll get used to Venom. Besides with all the Venom crime footage I always thought it was pretty cool"
Eddie was stunned, grateful, and overwhelmed. Venom just listed off the foods he would prefer you to bring to the apartment from now on.

Chips and Chocolate
Pairing: Eddie Brock x gn!reader
Words: 1.432
Warnings: none
Summary: With a little bump, you found your way into Eddie's life, helping him as he needed it the most
Eddie Brock, the man with the symbiont. The man with the racing mind, with the feeling of guilt deep inside of him because of just everything. He had done many wrong things in his life but after the latest fights, Eddie had realized that he had to change. Something. Anything. Himself. No matter what it exactly was he wanted to change - he knew he couldn't live like this forever. Not for himself. And not for you.
You
Eddie had met you as he was at his worst. It was a coincidence. He was shopping for groceries, discussing with Venom why the symbiont couldn't devour the guy with the bright green shirt as you stumbled into him and into his life. Your chips fell to the ground. Right next to the chocolate Eddie had dropped. The two of you grabbed for your things, hitting your heads at the same time. Just to try again, hitting your heads once again. It was slapstick from a comedy show and yet, Eddie knew everything he would play in was a never ending drama.
Finally, you grabbed your chips and Eddie's chocolate to give him back the sweets, "Here, and I'm so sorry for bumping into you. I got distracted by this...too bright green.", you said in a low, conspiratorial voice.
"Nah, it's alright. There's not much space here anyway.", Eddie said, standing in an aisle with enough space for several more people.
You chuckled, looking at him a moment longer than necessary. You thanked Eddie before you left him reluctantly.
"Follow them. They look nice."
"No!", Eddie hissed to silence Venom in his head.
"Why not? I like their smell. They smell delicious and I can feel that you like them, too. If you like them, I promise, I won't eat them."
"Be quiet. You shouldn't eat anyone anyway. I'm not in the mood to meet someone new, okay?", Eddie hissed while checking the backside of some cereal. He still kept you in sight from the corner of his eyes just to look at you a little bit longer. You checked the bread, deciding between grain bread and toast - in the end, the healthy one won.
"But you like them. I can feel that. You stare at them for two minutes straight. Eddie, we're alone for some time. If you won't talk to them, I will."
"No!", Eddie called out a bit too loud as he noticed Venom leaving his body a tiny bit and caught the attention of some older woman who looked suspicious at him, "They changed the ingredients of my favorite cornflakes.", he said meekly as an explanation and smiled but saw that she didn't believe him. She was still suspicious looking and he couldn't blame her. As the lady was gone, Eddie lowered his voice, "I can't believe you're the most reasonable from the two of us. Okay, okay, you win. But I will talk. You stay quiet."
"I'll just sniff-"
"No sniffing or tasting or whatever. No talking. Just...stay quiet."
Eddie found you a few moments later, grabbing a bottle of ketchup - it was Eddie's favorite one. He cleared his throat, trying to get your attention and as you looked up at him with a warm smile and beautiful eyes, he noticed his increasing heartbeat, "Hi, uhm, it's me...again.", he said and stumbled over his own tongue. You waited. You gave him the room for his own pace to say what he wanted. He saw it in your patient expression, "I... I- I was wondering if you would like to drink some coffee? With me? Someday?"
You chuckled softly. He was sweet. Even enchanting. This tall man with broad shoulders looked tired with dark circles under his eyes. But there was something on him you liked immediately - his shy smile and his boyish look as he looked at you insecurely. So, you said yes. And without knowing, you put broken pieces back together of Eddie's self who thought the parts couldn't ever be fixed again.
~~
You dated Eddie for a few weeks. He had been honest with you very early because he had lied often enough. You had met Venom and to Eddie's surprise, you liked the symbiont. Everything went well. Too well. Eddie saw the next big crash just around the corner. Trouble was never sparing him. It was just a matter of time before he or Venom would do something stupid. It always was like this. Something was good and in the next moment an invisible force did everything to destroy every little bit of happiness Eddie called his own.
But you were different. You didn't let him. Eddie tried to cage himself? You did everything to break open the thick walls. Eddie tried to fight with you? You stayed calm, giving him the time and opportunity to let off some steam just to be still there for him when he was done. You gave him the space Eddie needed to recover from things you couldn't completely understand. And that was okay. You knew you didn't have to understand him and his inner demons to be there for him.
Most of the time, your dates were simple. Cooking in your apartment or in Eddie's. Watching TV, playing some games, just spending time together. It was okay for you not to go out all the time. Usually, you didn't need fancy restaurants or expensive bars. Until one day. Eddie knew this day would come - he had braced himself for that moment.
You came from the kitchen, bringing him a new beer before sitting next to him, "Eddie, a friend of mine is having a gig in a small bar. It's her first time on a stage and I... I would like to go there with you.", you asked carefully while snuggling against his chest, sitting on his couch. You felt him tensing as expected. But after a while he said yes.
Eddie said yes because you never asked for something. That you did it showed him the importance. You deserved this. You deserved that Eddie would bite the bullet to do something in return for you after everything you had done.
~~
The bar was one of these with an old-school look. Dark wood panels on the walls. The smell of expensive cigars in the air. Small lamps with green lampshades on small tables set the room into a dim atmosphere. The leather armchairs looked cozy and the drinks were cold. The guests had money or at least, they looked like that.
Eddie felt out of place.
Eddie and you sat side by side on a small couch near the stage. Snuggled up against each other but the more people filled the room the more Eddie became nervous. You felt his muscles tensing. He rubbed his hands along his pants to clean them from the sweat - which wasn't really there. It was a habit you had noticed whenever he became insecure and wanted to run far far away instead of staying where he was.
Your friend entered the stage. She was beautiful as always. Just her and her guitar and it was enough. She started to sing with her honey-like voice. She filled the room with soft notes and even warmer words.
The bar was full of people. Too many for Eddie to relax. Venom stayed quiet but it wasn't helping much. He knew the symbiont was there. Eddie wanted to run. No matter where. He would love to take you with him. You gave him peacefulness where usually there was chaos. Like a bright light in pure darkness. And as if you had sensed his thoughts, you took his hand. Placing yours in his. Intertwining and knotting your fingers with his in a calming, loving way. Stroking over his skin with your thumb in slow circles to sooth him. Eddie watched your moves for a while before he looked straight into your eyes which were filled with love and silent understanding.
"I'm here for you, Eddie. No matter what. You're not alone and you're gonna be okay. Just give yourself the time you need.", you said softly. The smile that spread slowly on Eddie's lips gave your heartbeat more speed. It was the sweetest one you ever had seen on him. The sparkling of his eyes let you melt within seconds for this brooding man all over again. You rested your head against his shoulder to enjoy this perfect moment.
Eddie pressed a soft kiss on top of your head, inhaling your scent - knowing that he will be okay one day. With you by his side.

You frowned as you read over Eddie's text again
'Sorry Amy, I can't make it tonight I'm busy with a job. Rain check?'
This was the third week in a row that Eddie couldn't make it to your weekly night out together. It had been your weekly tradition every since you met. Meet up at your favorite meet-up spot, talked, play pool, darts or cards. Sometimes you even stopped at an arcade on your way back to your house. It was your way of staying close, and letting off steam.
Staring at the text, you tapped reply.
'This is the third week in a row you've been working without taking a break. Are you sure everything is alright?'
After a few moments, a reply popped up on our screen. 'Everything is fine, I promise!'
You didn't believe him. He never did this, and he always told you about his jobs, but this one he seems to be keeping a secret. You felt a tightness in your gut.
'Alright. Well, if you change you mind, I'm gonna go to our spot anyways.'
You waited a moment for a reply. But when none came, you let out a soft sigh and set your phone down. You didn't understand what was happening. Eddie was seeming to disappear more often. You rarely saw him anymore. He'd barely reply to your texts. It was odd, and it hurt your feelings.
And no matter how much you tried to figure out what was going on, he was constantly evading the question. If only you could see Venom, talk to him for a moment, you knew he would tell you. But you think Eddie knew this too, hence why he was avoiding seeing you in person.
As you got dressed to go out, you checked your phone every few minutes to see if he replied. Every time you saw he hadn't you felt a little worse.
Eddie was your closest friend, and you had to admit, you sometimes caught yourself hoping he was more than that. But now, you really began to doubt whether that would ever happen.
- - - - - - -
Eddie let out a frustrated sigh as he tossed his phone onto his bed. He hated ignoring you, he hated not seeing you.
"Why are you doing this Eddie!?" Venom's voice rang out.
"You know why!" Eddie excused.
"Because you are a wimp who cannot admit his feelings?"
Eddie opened his mouth to defend himself, but paused. Letting out a sigh he nodded his head. "Yeah, actually."
"Then I will do it for you!"
"What? No!"
"Why not! At least one of us has the balls to do it!"
"Dude, shut up! Have you not thought about what might happen if Y/n doesn't feel the same? Our friendship would be over, then we would never see her again!"
"I could see her..."
"What?"
"I could go see her, it's you she would avoid."
"What makes you think she'd want to see you?"
"She would!"
"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that."
"You are hurting her Eddie."
"You don't think I know that?!"
"Then go see her! Tell her! What if she does feel the same?"
Eddie stopped and thought about it for a moment.
"At least you would know." Venom spoke with an uncharacteristically gentle tone.
"Alright, if, and I mean if, I go see her, you cannot do or say anything. You have to let me do it."
"Fine."
"Promise."
Venom growled a bit. "Fine. I promise."
"Alright." Eddie paced around his apartment for a moment.
"Eddie?"
"What?"
"You are going to be late."
Looking over at the clock Eddie felt his heart jolt. "Shit!" Running to put on his shoes, he tripped over his own feet, but quickly rushed his way out of his apartment.
- - - - - - -
Looking out o the window, you sighed as you paid your bill and rose to leave. You stayed a little longer than normal, hoping that Eddie would show up, but of course he didn't.
Walking outside, you let out a soft shiver as the cold wind hit you. Looking up, you saw no sign of any stars or the moon as the sky was crowded with dark clouds.
Looking around, you saw no signs of any taxis. Debating for a moment, you decided you would just walk back home. It's wasn't that far. As you made your way down the lamp-lit street, you saw a few shadowed figures ahead of you, leaning against the fence.
You felt your nerves kick in but continued to walk. As you kept your head down, you reached into your bag, placing your hand around your pepper spray. This walk was never frightening to you before, but you had always been with Eddie, and Venom. You were always safe.
Making your way past the two men, who were clearly eyeing you, you felt a sense of relief wash over you as they didn't speak. But after a moment, you heard footsteps behind you. Your hand tightened around your pepper spray as you heard a low whistle from one of the men.
"Hey beautiful, it's dangerous to go walking around here alone." He was clearly drunk, as his words were slurred.
"I'm fine, thanks." You called back without turning back to him. You quickened your pace a bit.
"Let me take you home, ey?" The other one said with a tone that sent shivers down your spine.
"No thanks, I'm fine." You replied.
"Hey, you can at least look us in the eyes when you talk to us!" the drunk one spoke, his voice raised.
You picked up your pace, and did not reply, hoping they would give up.
"I was talking to you!"
As you felt a hand grasp your shoulder, you gasped as you spun around, aiming your pepper spray at the man and spraying it. He yelled out as he stumbled back.
You watched as the other man began to run at you "Bitch!"
Before you could pepper spray him, you saw a long black tentacle wrap around his neck and yank him back. You watched as his body flew into the nearby alley and slammed against the dumpster, before he stood up and limped away. The other man, half blinded, ran away as well, stumbling down the street.
Seeing Eddie run up to you, you felt relief wash over you. He pulled you into a hug, and you let out a sigh. "Oh, thank God Eddie. Venom, thank you."
"Are you alright?"
You nodded and he shook his head.
"I'm sorry I'm late."
"Late? Eddie you told me you weren't coming at all."
"Yeah, yeah I know, I'm sorry. But I decided last minute that I couldn't stand you up again."
Feeling light rain being to sprinkle down on you, you scoffed. "So you've been standing me up? I thought you were working?"
You saw Eddies face change to regret. "No, no, I- that's not what I meant. Well, no, I wasn't working. Look, can we talk about this later? It's starting to rain."
You shook your head in disbelief as you turned and started making your way down the sidewalk.
'Nice one jack ass, you made her mad.' Venom hissed at Eddie.
"Oh shut up" He whispered to himself as he ran to catch up with you.
As the rain began to fall a little harder, your mind began to race as your heart was pounding. You felt anger rising in your chest, and unable to stop it, you turned to Eddie. "If you haven't been busy with work, why were you avoiding me? What's going on Eddie?"
Eddie let out a soft whimper as he motioned to the sidewalk, obviously wanting you to keep walking.
You stayed in the same place, not caring that you were getting wet as the rain poured down at a steady rate. Even as thunder echoed above you, you stood still, staring at him expectantly.
"Come on Amy, we should get to your apartment, I don't want you catching a cold."
Suddenly feeling Venom begin to take over, Eddies hand smacked him in the face. "Ow!" He gasped out.
You rose a brow. "Thank you Venom."
"Wha- Thank you? Seriously?"
You tilted your head a bit as you stared him down. "Tell me."
Looking around, Eddie let out an aggravated groan as he gently grabbed your shoulders and pushed you over to a small overhang outside of a building to get you out of the direct downpour.
"Okay, okay." Letting out a huff of air, he took a moment to gather his thoughts. "I haven't been busy with work, I have been avoiding you." He met your eyes and saw the obvious hurt, and felt his chest ache. "And I'm so sorry. I just-" He let out a soft sigh, unable to continue.
You stomped your foot lightly. "Come on Eddie! We've known each other for years. We've been so close until recently. What's happening that's causing you to do this. What is there that you can't tell me? Is it me? Did I do something wrong?"
"No, no, Amy, you didn't do anything. It's me, it's these...feelings I can't figure out what do do with." He lifted his arms up in a gesture of defeat.
You felt your heart pounding heavier in your chest as you almost felt breathless. "What feelings?"
He gestured to himself. "Mine, for you."
You stared at him for a moment, seeing he was slowly loosing confidence. Finally finding your voice you spoke, "Are you saying that, you have feeling, for me? Like, romantic, feelings?"
Eddie shrugged his head in a show of confirmation, while still obviously nervous.
"For how long?"
"Since just before I started avoiding you more."
"So you started distancing yourself, because, what? You didn't want to have feelings for me? You were scared? You didn't think I felt the same?"
"Yeah, all of the above. I mean, I wasn't gonna say anything 'cause I didn't want to ruin our friendship, ya' know."
You let out a incredulous laugh as you ran your hands over your face. As the rain started to pour a little harder, you spoke louder, to be heard. "Eddie, you didn't have to run away from it."
"I didn't?"
You let out a laugh. "No, because I do feel the same. I have for ages. And unlike you, I didn't start avoiding you because of it."
Eddie looked at you in shock for a moment. "You mean, yo'e been walking around, hanging out with me, feeling like this." He placed his hand on his chest. "Not knowing if I felt the same?"
You nodded your head. "Yeah. And it does hurt, but it hurts more when we're separate doesn't it?"
Eddie let out a soft sigh and nodded "Yeah. It was torture."
You stared at him with a soft amused smile and shook your head. "So, what now?"
Eddie smiled at you as he took a step closer to you. Reaching up, he moved a wet strand of hair from your face before he met your eyes. "Now, I'm gonna kiss you." He said softly.
You felt your smile widen at his comment. You felt your heart pounding in your chest as he inched forward. The suspense as he did so was aching in your body. But as his lips met yours, you felt all of it melt away as a seemingly electric feeling washed over you. As you leaned into the kiss, you felt certain this was mean to be.
As a loud crack of thunder crashed over head, you both jumped, causing you to break the kiss. You both let out a laugh as Eddie pulled you a bit closer and pulled out his phone. "I think we should get a taxi."
You nodded in amusement as the rain began to pour down heavier. Eddie pulled you close to him as he began to talk on the phone. You let out a soft breath as you leaned your head against his chest. You should be scared from the storm, still shaking from the run-in with the men. But as Eddie wrapped his arm around you, all you felt was safe, and happy.
xx End xx
I hope you liked it! <3

Tripping through the door, Eddie's arms tightened around your waist, your lips tasting lightly of whiskey from a late-night date. Hearing as Eddie kicked the door closed while traveling to your shared bedroom.
Dropping your things to the floor then kicking your shoes off at the bedroom door as Eddie's quick action in pushing you onto the bed then attacking your neck. Feeling his hands travel up your body, grabbing at every inch of your heated skin as he is planted between your legs, rocking hungrily against you.
Creating friction-earning moans from both of you with your head dug into the bed while grabbing at the sheets, not noticing the difference in whose hips rocked roughly against you.
Peeking through your hazy state, seeing Venom enjoying every second of your body as he stood in between your legs instead of Eddie. Meeting his opal-colored eyes, causing a smile to grow on his face. Planting your hands into his muscled abdomen making him slow. "Hey, big guy," you say, catching your breath. "Can I get Eddie back?" You ask, tapping against him softly, but all you get in return is a smile showing his teeth.
Watching as his pointed fingers peeled up your clothes, then tearing them, exposing you to the cold night and Venom's hungry eyes. Hearing Venom purr in approval at the sight, he leans in with a new feeling of pleasure watching over you. Working up his hips again, making your stomach swirl, taking care of every nook of your insides in ways that Eddie couldn't.
Venom's cock cools your insides as if it were liquid, taking up your body with every loud thrust against you. Cursing through bitten lips mixing with Venom's groans watching as he copied your tilled head with nails lightly digging into your flushed skin.
Groans rumble through Venom, feeling them in your stomach as he further fills your insides, somehow finding every nerve that made you squirm and moan that echoed off the walls. Drowning out the noise of the bed squeaking away to his thrust, drilling you into the bed as your nails drag and dig into his liquid skin. The feel of his cool-to-the-touch skin as it quickly warmed from your long touch, moving your hands from his running them over his toned body feeling as they tensed under your touch, knowing he was just as close as you were.
Hearing as Venom's groan grow into deep moans that mixed to echo with yours through the late night as both of your bodies tensed again from your high feeling as every muscle stretched and shook. Rolling your head with nails that attacked his skin, the room grew louder as Venom held no mercy in digging into you, causing a snap of wood from below. Thinking through your mushed state, there is no doubt of broken bones and bruises that will be the star of the show in the morning, and Eddie's panic over them.
Feeling as you rode your highs for eternities, Venom relaxed his weight as his body collapsed onto you with a quick change to Eddie lessening the fall. Hearing him catch his breath, feeling him no longer hard.

The city of San Francisco bustled with life, a sprawling metropolis filled with stories, secrets, and people from all walks of life. Among the countless stories, there was one unfolding in the heart of the city that had yet to be told. It was a story of friendship, trust, and a deeply held secret.
Eddie Brock sat in his cramped apartment, his brows furrowed as he stared at his laptop screen. He was engrossed in the latest news article he was writing for the San Francisco Chronicle. It was about the shady dealings of a local pharmaceutical company. Eddie's reputation as an investigative journalist was built on exposing the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it might be.
While he was absorbed in his work, there was a soft knock at the door. Eddie glanced at it, momentarily distracted. Another knock followed, a bit more insistent this time. With a sigh, he closed his laptop and went to answer it.
Standing on the other side of the door was (Y/N), his friend since their college days. (Y/N) had always been there for him, through thick and thin, and they shared a bond that went beyond friendship. But today, (Y/N) seemed different. They looked anxious, their eyes avoiding Eddie's.
"(Y/N), hey," Eddie greeted, his voice tinged with concern. "Is something bothering you?"
(Y/N) hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Eddie, there's something I need to tell you, but I don't know how you'll react."
Eddie frowned, his concern deepening. "You can tell me anything, (Y/N). You know that, right?"
(Y/N) nodded slowly, taking a deep breath. "Okay, here it goes. I... I'm a trans man, Eddie. I've always known it, but I've been too scared to tell anyone, including you."
Eddie's eyes widened, surprised by the revelation. He processed (Y/N)'s words carefully, realizing the weight of the secret they had just shared. (Y/N) had been living with this truth, hidden away from the world and their closest friend.
"(Y/N), thank you for trusting me with this," Eddie said earnestly. "I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must have been for you to say this out loud."
Tears welled up in (Y/N)'s eyes as they finally met Eddie's gaze. "I was afraid you'd shun me, Eddie. You mean the world to me, and I couldn't bear losing your friendship."
Eddie stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on (Y/N)'s shoulder. "You'll never lose my friendship, (Y/N). I'm here for you, no matter what. We'll face this together, just like we always have."
Relief washed over (Y/N) as they wiped away a tear. "Thank you, Eddie. I knew I could count on you."
Eddie offered a warm smile. "Always, my friend. Now, let's talk about what this means for you and how I can support you through this journey."
As the two friends sat down to have an open and honest conversation, they began a new chapter in their lives, one marked by acceptance, understanding, and unwavering friendship.
It was now evening and nighttime was approaching quickly, in the middle of the night, a chill ran through Eddie's small apartment. The dim moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting eerie shadows on the room. Eddie lay sound asleep in his bed, completely unaware of the impending presence that stirred within him.
Unseen by the world, Venom, the symbiotic entity that shared Eddie's body, began to awaken. Its inky tendrils slithered out from Eddie's sleeping form, stretching and twisting as they formed a shadowy mass on the floor. The transformation was eerie and silent, save for a faint, otherworldly hum that filled the room.
(Y/N), who had been asleep on the couch in the living room, stirred at the strange sensation. They opened their eyes to see the room bathed in a surreal darkness, the shadows dancing eerily. Panic washed over them as they realized that something unnatural was happening.
Before their very eyes, Venom's form coalesced, taking shape and substance. It was a terrifying sight, a monstrous figure with a mouthful of jagged teeth and crimson eyes that gleamed in the darkness.
"(Y/N)," Venom's voice rumbled, a low, resonating growl that sent shivers down (Y/N)'s spine. "Fear not, for you are safe."
Tears welled up in (Y/N)'s eyes as they sat up on the couch, their heart racing. "W-who are you? What do you want?"
Venom leaned closer, its grotesque face just inches from (Y/N)'s. "I am Venom, the one who shares this host's body with Eddie Brock. I have taken control tonight to speak to you."
(Y/N)'s fear began to ebb as they looked into Venom's eyes, eyes that held an unexpected depth of understanding. "Why are you here?"
Venom's form shifted, its tendrils extending to gently caress (Y/N)'s face. It was an oddly tender gesture from a creature that appeared so menacing. "I am here to tell you that you have nothing to fear from us. Eddie knows your truth, and he accepts you completely."
Tears streamed down (Y/N)'s face, a mixture of relief and gratitude. "You mean... you both accept me?"
Venom nodded, its voice softer now. "Yes, (Y/N), we both accept you for who you are. You are valued, cherished, and loved by us. There is no need to hide your true self."
(Y/N) couldn't hold back their emotions any longer. They buried their face in their hands and sobbed. It was a cathartic release, the weight of years of secrecy and fear lifting from their shoulders.
Venom, in a surprising display of compassion, wrapped its tendrils around (Y/N) in a comforting embrace. "Let it out, (Y/N). You are not alone in this. We are here for you."
As (Y/N) cried in the arms of this enigmatic entity, they felt an overwhelming sense of acceptance and belonging. They knew that they had an ally in the most unexpected of places, and that, together with Eddie and Venom, they could face the challenges of their true self and the world that awaited them.
As days turned into weeks, and the bond between Eddie, Venom, and (Y/N) had grown stronger. They had faced challenges together, supported each other through the highs and lows, and had become an unbreakable trio. But as (Y/N) continued their journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, a day came when they felt it was time to share something important.
The three of them were gathered in Eddie's apartment, a sense of camaraderie filling the room. Eddie was flipping through a stack of papers for his next story, while Venom's tendrils idly danced in the air, a sign of contentment.
"(Y/N)," Eddie began, his tone warm and inviting, "what's on your mind? You seem like you've got something important to say."
(Y/N) took a deep breath, steeling themselves for what they were about to reveal. "Eddie, Venom, there's something I want to talk to you both about. I've been doing a lot of soul-searching, and I've come to a decision."
Eddie and Venom exchanged glances, concern in their eyes. "You can tell us anything, (Y/N)," Eddie assured.
(Y/N) nodded, gathering their thoughts. "I want to be called (Male Name) from now on. I don't want to go by (Y/N) anymore."
For a moment, there was silence in the room. Eddie and Venom both considered the name change carefully, processing what it meant.
Finally, it was Eddie who broke the silence. "You know, (Male Name), I think that's a great choice. It's a strong name, and it suits you."
Venom, ever perceptive, chimed in as well, "Yes, (Male Name). We like the name, too."
Tears welled up in (Male Name)'s eyes, but this time they were tears of joy and relief. "Thank you, both of you. Your support means the world to me."
Eddie and Venom exchanged a knowing look, a silent acknowledgment of their commitment to standing by (Male Name) as they continued their journey of self-discovery. Together, they embraced this new chapter, knowing that their bond would only grow stronger with each step forward.

Is That A Promise? (Venom One-Shot)
Tumblr media
Eddie Brock x GN!Reader / requests are open and encouraged
Summary: Telling you about Venom does not go entirely how Eddie planned.
CW: mentions of monster fucking, Eddie is oblivious and a dumbass (I think I have a type)
Venom Tag List: (send an ask to be added to a tag list!)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___
You’d known Eddie Brock a good while by this point. You’d started dating him a while back, and while he put others on edge, you’d found the way he talked to himself out loud rather charming, actually.
At first, you weren’t sure if he was just unmedicated, or undiagnosed. But then the news broke about the symbiote, and then there was the footage. And when Eddie started coming home right after news broke of some other attack or taking out of a bad guy or criminal or whoever, you’d put two and two together.
It was kind of hard not to. Particularly as his conversations with himself could vary from topic to topic in the span of six words or less.

Eddie had asked to meet up for lunch today at your favourite restaurant. He’d seemed a bit off on the phone, and given how prone you were to anxiety, your immediate thought had been that he was breaking up with you and that you’d done something to upset him or his bodily guest- who you did not officially know about, of course.
You’d gotten there early to prepare yourself for whatever shitshow was about to follow and to your immense surprise, Eddie had shown up pretty much right after you. Eddie was always running late, so this change in pace was also mildly concerning. You were not sure how this was going to go and you did not like that one bit.
“You’re here early, too,” Eddie had said, swallowing thickly and avoiding eye contact. You nodded, and cleared your throat, gesturing for him to sit down at the table opposite you.
“Yeah, I wanted to make sure we had a spot,” you replied, smoothing down your shirt. Bit of a nervous habit. That and ripping at your nails, but that was beside the point.
“Right,” Eddie replied.
And then the two of you lapsed into silence. You spent a good five to ten minutes appearing to read over the menu as if this wasn’t a regular spot for you and you didn’t know exactly what you were going to order. In fact, you’d be surprised if the cooks weren’t already making it up for you even though a waiter hadn’t come over yet.
“Shut up,” Eddie hissed quietly. You peered over the menu to eye him curiously, one brow arced in question.
“I didn’t say anything, Eddie.”
“Yeah, I know. I- uh, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about, actually,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. You hummed, and put the menu down to give him your attention.
“About me shutting up?”
“No- God, this is not going at all like I planned.” Eddie rubbed a hand over his face and sighed.
You said nothing, waiting patiently for him to work out his wording.

“I really like you,” he started, and you nodded, replying with the same sentiment. “And, well, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you.”

“Right…” This is where you expected him to tell you he was married (doubtful but not impossible) or had cancer or something terrible. Dear God, please no.
“Look- you’ve seen on the news, yes, the, uh- the attacks. Yeah?”
You nod. Ah, so he was finally telling you about his friend living literally rent-free in his body. Okay, you could relax a little.
“He’s me. Venom, he lives in my body. He’s in my head. Like, all the time. Right now.”
Eddie looked at the table where he was picking at the tablecloth. You were silent for a second, and Eddie clearly took that to mean you were horrified or disgusted or something. You were a little nervous about it, sure, but you’d also been living with him for the last few months. If Venom was planning to take you out, he would have done so by now, surely. You figured this to mean you were safe enough. You’d also seen your fair share of monster porn, so you weren’t exactly unkeen on the idea of dating someone who sometimes had a monster body. It was kind of hot, actually. You shook the thought out of your head and tried to focus.
“Oh, yeah- I knew about that,” you replied, and the way Eddie’s head snapped towards you was almost comical.
“You what?”

“Yeah, I figured that out a while ago. I was just waiting for you to tell me in your own time.”

Eddie blinked, and a black residue appeared on the back of his hand. It swirled and gathered on his hand before reaching for you delicately. You met it, brushing your finger over it softly. The goop (for lack of a better word) seemed to shiver pleasurably and you smiled.

“Can I meet him later?”
Eddie nodded, watching the interaction with disbelief. He’d thought that you’d go running and screaming through the doors or something, not be rubbing your fingers over Venom like you were fingering some Play-Doh.
“Y-yeah, later,” he agreed. “Not here. When we get home.”

You grinned and the black substance retreated back into Eddie’s skin as a waiter appeared by your table.
“What can I get for you? The regular?”
You looked at Eddie and clicked your tongue thoughtfully.
“The usual with a serving of chicken nuggets on the side, please.”

The waiter nodded, scribbled it own on his pad and wandered off in the direction of the kitchen. Eddie looked at you in question. He knew you weren’t big on nuggets.
“They’re for Venom,” you explained, propping your head up on your palm. Eddie looked to the side as if listening to something carefully.
“Venom says thank you-” Eddie said before cutting himself as Venom said something else in his head. “No, I’m not saying that. No. No.”
“Say what?”
Eddie sighed defeatedly- something you think he did a lot when it came to Venom.
“Venom said he could kiss you right now.” Eddie looked mortified as the words left his mouth. You burst into laughter.
“Is that a threat or a promise? I hope it’s a promise,” you replied, wiggling your eyebrows at the two of them.
Eddie swallowed thickly and blushed as Venom said something else. You’d have to see if Venom could swap hosts sometime. It would be nice to have a conversation while out and about like that.
“Promise,” Eddie replied.
Good.

eddie being the speaker for venom’s adoring rant he eventually goes on at the end of your date when you’re just slowly strolling through a park, taking the long way home just to draw the evening out (but also eddie filtering it because some of the points are VERY INAPPROPRIATE and so venom gets mad and eventually takes over even though you are in public)
This post is 18+, minors dni.
"You're very pretty," Eddie narrates the voice in his head, but he shakes his head and tries again, "Pret-ty. He says- He says it weird, like prit-ty."
"Pretty," You try, voice low and gruff in a poor attempt to match Venom's, "Like that?"
"Spot on," Eddie laughs, and you let your chest shake with giggles as you roam down the sidewalk, "And he says your dress makes him think of blood, which," Eddie grimaces, "I'm sure, in his mind, is a compliment."
"Hm," You hum, glancing down at the red fabric you're draped in, "Yeah, I'll choose to take that kindly."
"And he wants to- woah," Eddie's eyes go wide and his hand tightens around your own momentarily, "Uh, hold your hand."
"What?"
"He wants to hold your hand!" Eddie insists, "And- Jesus, Venom! And tuck you into bed."
"I said fuck!" A voice roars from deep inside of Eddie's chest, and before you know it black ooze is emerging from your boyfriend's skin. You panic, yanking Eddie-turned-Venom into an alleyway between two apartment buildings and praying that no one is watching you.
"I said I wanted to fuck you into the bed," Venom clarifies, towering over you in the dark alley. If you didn't know him, in any other scenario, you'd be fainting from fear. But the hulking alien doesn't bother you now, and you put a hand over his mouth full of sharp teeth to try and get him to quiet down.
"Okay," You soothe, trying to acknowledge him so that he doesn't feel so misinterpreted, "Okay Venom. That's very- uh, nice. But you can't be out right now, you know that. Please just go back inside Eddie?"
"He is lying, I cannot trust him!" Venom huffs, voice not quieted at all, merely muffled by your hand, "I did not say I wanted to hold your hand. I said I wanted you to fuck my tongue!"
"Charming," You spit, face flushed with fire matching the heat in your belly, "Really, Venom, I- I'd like to, but- but we're out now, and I need you to quiet down and go back inside."
"Eddie does not deserve to take you on dates like this. He does not tell you how good you look."
"Yes he does!" You insist, still clamping your hand desperately over Venom's mouth. It does nothing, but you can't stand the thought of letting go.
"He uses words like gorgeous and beautiful. They are true," Venom promises, "But he never says sexy or delicious. Those are true, too, and you should hear them."
"Thank you, Venom," You croon, moving your hands to his cheeks to tug them closer to your face. He accepts a kiss to the teeth, seeing as he hasn't bothered to give himself lips in this form, and it's a rather odd sensation on your own. But it quiets him down, and he's calm under your touch.
"I'm happy you think those things," You grin, and you can't deny that you're flattered, "But if you want to say those things, we have to wait until we're home. I promise, as soon as the door shuts behind us you can join Eddie and I, okay? He'll say beautiful, you can say..." You fumble for a term, inches away from Venom's face, and he offers a helpful hint.
"Hot stuff!" He roars, definitely loud enough to be heard from the street.
"Okay! Okay, hot stuff," You nod, peering horrified at the mouth of the alleyway to make sure no one is coming to investigate, "That's very nice Venom, I'd love to hear that later."
"I will go back inside now," Venom tells you, and your heart rate spikes when you hear rushed footsteps coming your way, "But I will see you later."
"Later, later!" You promise, and the symbiote can't seem to melt into Eddie fast enough. As soon as the face in front of you is tan instead of goopy, you surge for it, locking lips with Eddie in a gesture you hope looks passionate and not rushed.
The man doesn't know what you're doing, but he doesn't care. He lets you slam him against the wall behind him with a soft groan, and you shut your eyes just as the footsteps thud beside you.
"Oh-" A resident of the nearby apartments scoffs, "Gross. Get a fucking room or something, you'll get an infection out here. Perverts!"
You flip the man off for good measure, and wait until he's a safe distance away to part from Eddie. He looks dazed from the kiss, but as soon as he comes to, he's got a message from Venom.
"He wants to know if he can bite that guy's head off," Eddie drawls, and you sigh, typical.
"No," You scoff, grabbing Eddie's hand and leading him back out of the alleyway, "But we should get home, he's got lots to say to me."
"And do to you," Eddie's face scrunches as he listens to Venom's rambling, shaking his head slightly at a suggestion you don't hear, "I- I don't think that's possible, buddy."

Eddie was panicked, his face flushed and his chest heaving, when he walked into your bedroom after letting himself into your flat. His hands shook terribly, he was dizzy and he felt sick, his mouth raw and cold as he frantically looked at you.
He wanted to check for injuries, but what stopped him was the fact that you were sat on your bed, drinking from an energy drink can, and looking almost… content. A little more confused, Eddie furrowed his brows as he looked at you, tilting his head to the side slightly.
“Was there a reason you texted me SOS at three in the morning?”
“Actually, yes,” you put the drink down on your bedside table and wiped your hands against each other. “I’m stuck on a level.”
“Huh?”
“So, I started playing that outlaw game,” you started, “and I got to the third chapter, and… I’m stuck on a mission, and I need your help.”
The panic immediately died as Eddie put his hands on his hips, glaring at you. “This is your emergency?”
“Yeah,” you shrugged. “You’re my boyfriend, you need to help me with this.”
In all honesty, it took everything in him not to laugh as he moved and sat on your bed next to you; he grabbed the controller, turning the game on and loading up your most recent save file.
He chewed at the corner of his mouth for a moment, just to ignore the urge to laugh; he was glad and relieved, really, that your little emergency wasn’t a life or death situation and that it was easily sorted out.
But then he looked at your left wrist, and hummed.
“Did you forget to take that off?”
You shook your head, smiling at him. “Nope.”
He groaned, putting the controller down and pushing his jogging bottoms and boxers to his ankles. He gave his cock a few strokes. “Safeword?”
“Chlorine.”
“Good,” he praised sharply. “And what do you do if you can’t speak?”
“Tap your right leg four times,” you told him, licking your lips as you stared at his cock.
Eddie nodded, pulling you over. A soft groan came from the back of his throat when you wrapped your lips around him, slowly taking every inch until he hit the back of your throat; he picked up the controller, starting to play the game as you bobbed your head and let your nose bury against the dense curls at his base.
You couldn’t remember when you and Eddie first started it; when you first agreed to be his little fuck toy. But you loved it, knowing that all you had to do was wear his light orange rock bracelet on your left wrist and you would be used and fucked until you couldn’t take it anymore.
You loved it when he fucked you on the sofa as he took work calls, gagging you with a ball as you drooled and slobbered over the red plastic, your eyes rolling into the back of your head as you desperately tried to fuck yourself on his cock.
But as you sucked his dick, you couldn’t help it, putting a pillow beneath you and gently humping it to the same rhythm as you took his cock. Eddie groaned, sparing a look and seeing what you were doing.
“Get my phone,” he groaned. “Record it.”
You did as he said, licking his cock as you pulled yourself away, leaving a long trail of spit; you grabbed his phone from his pocket, and pulled up the camera; pressing ‘record’, you peppered his cock with kisses before gently slapping your face with it.
You couldn’t help the soft laugh that left the back of your throat when he took one hand off of the controller and grabbed your neck, making you take every inch of him until you gagged.
He bucked his hips, taking his hand off of your neck to focus on the game as he fucked your mouth; knowing that you were recording it only made him find his release earlier as he heard you gulp and gag with each thrust of his hips.
Drool leaking from the side of your mouth as you continued to fuck the pillow beneath you; you were just as close as he was, but you didn’t want to stop, wanting to take every fucking droplet of cum that he had to offer.
You brought your hand to his cock, slowly stroking it as you continued to let him use your mouth like a fuck toy; you sped up your movements against the pillow, the friction harsh and fast against you, you were getting closer by the second, and you could smell sex all around you.
“Doing so good,” Eddie praised breathlessly, chewing his lip. “Fuck, I’m gonna cum…”
You pulled away from his cock, grinning. “You gonna cum in my mouth?”
He nodded. “Yeah… and you’re gonna swallow.”
You were giddy as you set to work again, taking him as deeply as you could, making sure to hum as you stroked his cock with each movement of your hand, knowing that it would get him to finish sooner; you needed to taste him, you couldn’t wait.
Impatience, it seemed, was a virtue.
You swallowed as much as you could, only to lick his cock clean just to make sure; a quick lick of your lips, you looked up at him, and hummed, putting the phone down.
“Did you finish the level for me?”
Eddie put the controller down, nodding as he wiped a thin layer of sweat from his brow. “I finished the level, baby, don’t worry.”
“I haven’t finished,” you said quietly, biting back a grin.
Eddie laughed softly, patting his thigh. “That is a shame…”
“Can you stay the night?” You asked, kneeling between his legs.
He nodded. “Yeah, of course… always… we’ve been together, what? Four years, now?”
You nodded. “You asked me out on my twenty-third birthday, so… four years, six months, and three days.”
“Right,” he hummed. “And you know I can stay, always… why’d you ask?”
“I just wanted to make sure.”

Get Us Some Chocolate || Venom & Eddie Brock drabble
Summary: It's still hard for Eddie to comprehend how Venom has changed his life, especially since Venom has so many demands
Warnings: none, just Venom being Venom 😁
Word count: 856
Authors: Cass & Rouge
Tumblr media
As Eddie sat on the couch, he watched the wall of his apartment. He couldn't believe what had just happened. Previously a successful reporter, now a man with some kind of parasite; it had to be a nightmare! Suddenly, Eddie pinched himself and cursed loudly, "Fuck! No, no, no, this has to be a nightmare!"
Venom did not form himself, he simply tickled Eddie's side twice before stopping.
Eddie shouted, "No! You stop that! You're not real, you're not here. I got into a car accident and I'm in a coma. You are not here!" Eddie was lost in thoughts.
Venom formed his head behind Eddie and touched his bearded cheek with his slick tongue. "We're real, Eddie."
Eddie said, "You're not!" and went to his bedroom. Eddie hid in his bed and said, "I will go to sleep and when I wake up, you won't be there."
________________________________
Eddie slowly awoke in the morning and raised his head. "Hello..?" He asked quietly.
In an instant, Venom formed his head in front of Eddie's. "Eddie, how was your night? Because the position you were sleeping in squeezed us. We didn't like it. Now, move your ass to the kitchen, breakfast time is here!" Venom chanted happily.
Brock's head fell back onto the pillow. "You are here, still..." He let out a loud sigh, then his response was, "I don't feel hungry."
As Eddie replied, Venom poked him in the forehead. "But we're hungry. And we want chocolate. Get up, Ed. You gotta look like a human to do some grocery shopping," Venom said, forcing Eddie to rise so quickly that he fell.
"What! How could you even do that to me!? I have food in the fridge and I don't care what you want. I have everything I need in my apartment," Brock grunted in a reply.
Eddie was forced to run to the door and further up the staircase when Venom repeated, "AND WE WANT CHOCOLATE, AND WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE FUCKING FOOD IN YOUR FRIDGE. WE CHECKED IT LAST NIGHT, IT WAS NOT WORTH OUR TIME AND ATTENTION."
"You stop that now! Look at me! I can't go shopping in my..." Eddie looked down, "Underwear! We are going home and I need to change!"
This was the moment Eddie's neighbor walked out of a flat. A woman closed the door and turned around, improving a purse on her shoulder and froze when she saw Eddie half-naked. Squeaking, she ran down the stairs as quickly as she could.
As Eddie ran to his flat, he locked the doors behind him, pressing his back to the wall nearby. "It's your fucking fault! You can't drag me out of my flat when I'm wearing nothing," he said as he went to his bedroom.
Eddie was fully dressed and ready to go after a few minutes. "Okay, now we can go."
________________________________
Eddie walked through the supermarket, looking at the shelves. "I don't really know what I need..." He murmured to himself.
Venom recited happily in man's head, "Milk, two gallons. Orange juice. Bread. Chocolate. Chips. Beer. Chocolate. Chicken. Cucumber. Chocolate. Beer. And more chocolate. And cheese. And fries. Did we mention chocolate?"
"Why do I need so much chocolate? I don't even eat chocolate," Eddie asked as he began to look through the shelves.
"You're a loser, and we want chocolate. If you don't buy us some chocolate, you'll be without liver or kidney. Or both," Venom threatened.
Eddie grunted under his breath, "If you don't stop acting like the prick you really are, you'll be short of chocolate, or you'll be short of host. Or both."
After a few growls, Venom calmed down. It wasn't until he spotted jelly beans. "We want this! Oh, and that minty chocolate too. Oh, and these chocolate bars are delicious, too. Oh, and those pralines! We'll treat you like a king if you buy the pralines, too, Eddie."
Putting everything in a basket and listening to Venom, Eddie said, "Please, don't eat it all at once. Chocolate isn't cheap."
"We'll get you a better paying job soon, don't worry, Eddie," Venom giggled deeply in the man's mind.
Eddie sighed in frustration, "How the hell would you even find me a job? Do you even know what one is?"
"Of course we know, it's a useless thing you keep doing. We'll make you hireable again."
Brock shook his head and laughed, "Yeah. Sure you will."
______________________________
Eddie placed bags on the table at home. "Okay... So... You're really here? You're not a dream, right?"
Venom formed his huge face and showed his long fangs; some saliva dripped on the floor as the symbiote smirked widely. As he rested his forehead against Eddie's shoulder, Venom asked, "Do we look like a dream, huh? Feel us. Feel the power we provide you with. You're strong now, feel all these muscles. We'll make you a hero."
"The life with you inside me won't be easy. I mean, my life is different from yours," Eddie laughed softly.
Putting his chin on the man's shoulder, Venom assured, "We'll fit in easily. This will be a fucking amazing experience."

Kiss Me Under the Mistletoe
Fandom: Venom (Marvel) Pairing: Eddie Brock x Venom Summary: Eddie and Venom prepare for Christmas together, and Venom has no idea what to get Eddie. When an argument gives him a gift idea, Eddie wakes up and fears that Venom has left, he voices all the feelings he has been keeping hidden.  A/N: I wrote this yesterday and I’m hoping it will help me get out of my writing slump; let me know what you think!!
Tumblr media
- December 20th -
Eddie rolls out of bed with a groan as Venom emerges from his shoulder, forming as a floating head. “Eddie, what are we doing today?” Venom asks, antsy after waiting hours in Eddie’s body for his host to finish sleeping. Eddie places a mug under the coffee machine, sighs, and turns around to lean against the counter and face Venom before answering.
“I am going to schedule an interview with an artist who has been doing interactive exhibits around San Francisco, and then, maybe–just maybe–we can go get a Christmas tree.” Eddie feels Venom shuffling around in his mind for a moment and thankful when it stops, Venom quickly having found the answer he was looking for.
“A Christmas tree would be nice, Eddie. We will get the biggest one we can!” Venom exclaims, buzzing with excitement. Eddie grabs his now-ready coffee and takes a sip, hissing as he burns his tongue.
“Woah, woah, I said maybe!” Eddie answers as he pulls his shirt over his head and walks back towards his room, ready to get dressed for the day. The moment he finishes speaking, he feels the tough texture left behind by the burn in his mouth cool and fade, and a small smile settles on his lips. “Thanks, buddy,” he says.
“...Now can we get the tree?” Venom asks.
Sighing, Eddie says, “Yes, we can get the tree, just as soon as I’ve set up this interview.” Venom hums and Eddie takes that as him agreeing and continues with his morning routine.
Venom stays silent and still as Eddie talks on the phone and schedules an interview, thoughts of Christmas filling his mind. From what he has seen in Eddie’s memories and on television, Venom has gathered that Christmas is about two things: people you love and presents. Unexpectedly, Venom starts to feel unsure about a lot of things. Eddie has some Christmas traditions; would he want Venom to be a part of them? What would he get for Eddie? Would Eddie get anything for him? Just as he starts to spiral, Eddie says, “You can come out now, V! Let me grab my wallet and put my shoes on, and then we can go.” He has a relaxed smile on his face, and Venom thinks to himself: this is when he is happy. How can I make him feel like this for Christmas?
- December 21st -
“Eddie, Eddie! Today we are going to decorate the tree!” Venom says, pulling Eddie from his sleep and extending a tentacle holding a mug of fresh coffee towards him.
“Yeah, but not at,” Eddie pauses to look at the clock on his nightstand, “7:15 in the morning,” he grumbles.
“That is why I made the disgusting drink you like so much,” Venom explains. Eddie just rolls his eyes and gets up, ready to get to work.
An hour later, Eddie sits on the couch, Venom’s head floating next to him, to admire their handiwork. “You know, V, you’re pretty good at this whole tree decorating thing,” he muses.
“Of course I am, Eddie,” Venom replies. “I do not know how you get anything done with so few arms.” Eddie chuckles and that same smile from the day before once again appeared on his face.
“Yeah, me neither,” Eddie jokes. Turning to Venom, he continues, “I don’t really have anything to do today; do you want to watch a Christmas movie?”
“I would like to watch Elf. The internet says it is very funny,” Venom says.
“Really? Because I was thinking we could watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” Eddie replies, fighting not to smirk.
“Why?”
“Well, you know, weirdly-colored not-human thing living far away from civilization-” Venom playfully slaps Eddie with a tentacle, causing him to break and release the laugh he’d been holding back.
“No, we are watching Elf,” Venom insists.
“Alright, Elf it is,” Eddie says as he begins to set the television up.
- December 22nd -
The interview Eddie had set up the day prior has been going on for the past hour, and Venom is starting to get bored. So far, he has occupied himself by moving around in Eddie’s body, but he decides it’s time to see how much longer he’ll have to hide. “Eddie, how much longer?” he asks in Eddie’s mind.
Eddie glances at his watch and mutters “Twenty, max,” into his shoulder. The artist across from him raises a brow and twists their lips, so Eddie plays it off as a cough to the best of his ability. The next twenty minutes are some of the slowest in Venom’s life. But, he knows how much Eddie hates it when they interrupt him when he’s working, so he remains silent.
As they leave the coffee shop where the interview had taken place, Venom suddenly stops Eddie in his tracks. “What is that?” he asks, extending a tendril from the crook of Eddie’s neck to point at the marshmallow and whipped cream covered drink in a passing stranger’s hand.
“Oh that? That, my friend, is hot chocolate. Anne used to make it all the time when it got cold out. It never tastes as good when I make it, so I haven’t had it much lately.” Venom hums noncommittally, a melancholic feeling washing over them as Eddie reminisces about Anne. That has been happening a lot more lately, they notice. “Tell you what, V,” Eddie says. “Why don’t we walk a few blocks to the holiday market and get some before we go home?”
Shortly thereafter, two large takeaway cups of hot chocolate in hand, Eddie ducks into an alleyway, and Venom emerges from his shoulder so they can enjoy their hot chocolate together.
- December 23rd -
The sun is starting to dip below the horizon line, and Eddie is standing in front of the mirror with Venom fussing over his hair and outfit. “Venom, why do I have to look so nice, we aren’t trying to get Annie back or do anything funny, remember?” he scowls.
“Don’t pout, Eddie, we like to look good for Anne! And Dan, too! Besides, she will probably want to take pictures.” Eddie sighs and nods, letting Venom pull various items out of his closet until he has decided on an acceptable outfit. In the end, Eddie is wearing a dark red sweater under his signature leather jacket and dark designer jeans with leather boots.
“We should get going, we don’t want whatever Anne has cooked to get cold before we arrive,” Eddie says, turning away from the mirror. On the way out, Venom grabs the bottle of wine Eddie had left on the counter to take to dinner and delivers it into Eddie’s hands before disappearing back inside Eddie. “Thanks, V” Eddie smiles.
“You are welcome,” he replies.
“Come on in,” Anne greets when Eddie rings the doorbell after parking the motorcycle down the street. “You look nice,” she nods in approval.
“Thanks. Oh, this is for you,” he says, holding the wine bottle out to Anne, who accepts it and leads him into the kitchen, where Dan is adding garnish to a chicken dish. “Dan, nice to see you,” Eddie greets.
“Likewise!” Dan says and makes his way over to shake Eddie’s hand. “Is uh…are you-” he starts awkwardly.
“Yeah, Venom is here,” he says at the same time that Venom forms a floating head connected to Eddie by just a few strands of gooey material at the back of his shoulder.
“Merry Christmas, Dan! Merry Christmas, Anne!” Venom says loudly.
“Merry Christmas, Venom,” Anne replies fondly. “Dinner is ready, let’s head into the dining room,” she says and falls into step beside Dan. At the threshold of the doorway between the kitchen and the dining room, Dan and Anne pause, and Dan leans down to kiss Anne. “Mind the mistletoe,” Anne teases over her shoulder to Eddie and Venom before looking up to the plant hanging above her. Eddie laughs and shakes his head, walking under the mistletoe without pause, and Venom makes a mental note to ask Eddie about the mysterious ceiling-plant later.
- December 24th -
Venom has been more quiet than usual this morning, and Eddie notices. “Hey, V, everything alright?” he asks after Venom fails to comment on how disgusting coffee is by Eddie’s third sip.
“Yes, Eddie.”
“Are you sure? Because you are being really quiet this morning.”
“I am just thinking,” they reply.
“Well that’s dangerous,” Eddie jokes. “What are you thinking about?”
Venom hesitates before answering, “Mistletoe. Why do we not have any?”
Eddie coughs and sputters, cheeks turning rosy, and he says, “Well, mistletoe… the thing about mistletoe is that you are supposed to kiss someone if you’re standing under it together. So it works well at parties, you know, when there are a lot of people. But here, it’s just us, so it doesn’t really make any sense,” Eddie explains.
“Then why do Anne and Dan have it?”
“Because Anne and Dan have friends who come over for holiday parties,” Eddie answers quickly. He takes a breath and adds, “And because they are in a relationship.”
“If they are in a relationship, then they can kiss anytime they want. Having a plant to tell them when to kiss makes no sense!”
“I guess it doesn’t,” Eddie muses. “But it’s a fun holiday tradition,” he shrugs.
“But you did not want to kiss me under the mistletoe,” Venom points out. Eddie's cheeks go from a light pink to a deep red in just a few seconds, and Venom feels his heart rate spike.
“Well you and I are, um, we-”
“Yes, Eddie?”
“We aren’t that, we aren’t a couple, so I can’t just kiss you, especially not in front of my ex-fiancee and her new fiancee!”
“What about when we are here?” Venom pushes.
“Venom, I don’t want to kiss you, okay! Sometimes, I don’t even want to talk to you! Just shut up about it!” Eddie snaps, and Venom stills beside him. Without a word, Venom dissolves against his skin and settles silently inside him.
Eddie regrets yelling at Venom almost instantly, but he knows that if he says something, he’ll have to explain, and he isn’t ready for that. How can he tell Venom that for a while now, but during the past month especially, he has felt differently towards them? That Venom’s enthusiasm to decorate the Christmas tree not only gave him hope that the holidays wouldn’t be lonely this year, even though Annie isn’t here, but also made him think that they could even be better? That the sight of Venom licking the last dregs of hot chocolate mix out of a cup made him think about that tongue in completely inappropriate ways? He couldn’t.
Eddie and Venom don’t speak for the rest of the day. Eddie just hopes things will be okay in the morning.
- December 25th -
Eddie is pleased to wake up on Christmas morning to the smell of coffee next to him, and he is even happier to see that it’s just after 9:00 in the morning. He smiles, ready to thank Venom, when he pauses. Venom didn’t wake him up this morning. He looks around the apartment quickly, as though that would give him some kind of reassurance that Venom hasn’t left, when he finds the note:
Dear Eddie,
Merry Christmas. I did not know what to get you, but last night you helped me figure out the perfect gift: you have a whole day to yourself, where you will not have to hear me think or talk.
- Venom
Eddie sets the note down and stands in shock for a moment. Did Venom mean he’d left Eddie’s body and would be back, or was he still there, just silent and still? And if he’d left, where would he go? Would he be okay? Eddie is starting to freak out at this point and gets dressed and brushes his teeth and rushes out the door, turning to stuff the note in his pocket at the last moment.
Unthinking, he speeds towards Anne’s house and once he’s there, he’s knocking frantically. She opens the door, and he shoves past her, looking around before turning to her. “Have you seen Venom?” he asks.
“What?”
“Have you seen Venom!” he repeats as he takes the crumpled note out of his pocket and shoves it into her hands forcefully. “Look,” he says, unable to resist reading the words once again. She doesn’t answer right away, taking time to read the note.
Then she looks up, shoulders slumped downward, and asks “What did you do?”
“I yelled at them,” Eddie admits quietly, shame heating his face. “I don’t know, I freaked out, and I just–I’ve yelled at him before, maybe he finally had too much.”
“Hold on, don’t freak out,” Anne says, pacing a few steps back and forth.
“I’m already freaked out!” Eddie snaps back.
“Okay, well what did you and Venom argue about?” Anne asks. “Maybe that will help us figure out how to get him to come out.”
“That’s if he’s still here in the first place!”
“They are, I can tell,” Anne says, eyeing Eddie.
“How? I can’t tell and it’s my body!” Eddie replies, patting himself down and turning around in a circle to look over his shoulder in search of Venom.
“I just can, but that’s not important,” she sighs. “Now stop moving around and tell me what you two were arguing about.”
Eddie stills, hesitating before he speaks. “Mistletoe.”
That stops Anne in her tracks. “Mistletoe?”
“Yeah. V had all these questions and he was confused and I think maybe I offended him or something…” he trails off.
“And?” Anne prompts.
“And what?”
“I know you, so I know there’s more you’re not saying. Out with it, now.”
Eddie runs his hands down his face and takes a deep breath. “I said that I don’t want to kiss him… and that sometimes I don’t even want to talk to him.”
“Oh, Eddie,” Anne says, deflating. “You’re such an idiot.”
“Hey! Wait, what?” he asks, dropping his hands. Anne pinches the bridge of her nose and leads Eddie over to the couch and takes a seat beside him.
“You know Venom has been looking out for you for a while, right?”
“Yeah, but I don’t see where you’re going with this,” Eddie says, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Then why would you tell him you don’t want to kiss him?” Annie accuses.
“Wh-because I don’t!” Eddie replies too fast and crosses his arms over his chest.
“You do. I’ve noticed things between you two are different, and that’s okay! And you can’t seriously expect me to believe you’d rather not talk to him,” Anne adds.
All of a sudden, Eddie’s defenses drop. “Yeah, you’re right. It has only been last night and this morning, but… I miss him,” he says. “I’m scared, Annie,” he whispers. “What if he left last night and something happened and I can’t do anything?” he confesses, unshed tears making his eyes glassy.
“He didn’t leave, I already told you. Now, I have an idea, okay?” Anne says and rests a hand on Eddie’s shoulder.
“You’re not going to throw a knife at me or something, right?” Eddie asks, trying to lighten the mood, but the joke falls flat.
“No,” Anne smiles sadly. “Now walk over there,” she points to the mistletoe, “and talk to him. Be honest. I’ll be upstairs; I’m going to take Dan some coffee,” she says, rising and exiting the room. I hope this works, Eddie thinks to himself before striding over to the doorway and standing under the mistletoe.
“Alright, V. I hope you’re in there and that you’re listening,” he breathes out shakily. “I’m sorry for yelling at you and for the things I said. They aren’t true. The truth is that–okay, I really hope you’re listening because this is going to be really embarrassing otherwise–I really want to kiss you under the mistletoe. And not under the mistletoe. I just want to kiss you, I have for a while now, I think. And I like that we can talk all the time, even if I shouldn’t be talking to you at a certain time, like at work or something, because I still want to. And I was, I am, nervous because well, I’ve never wanted to kiss–and maybe do some other stuff,” he adds, blushing, “with an alien that lives in my body, so it’s all a little unprecedented, so if you’re in there listening, can you please come out right now so I can kiss you under this stupid plant?”
For a moment, nothing happens, and Eddie doesn’t know what to do. He didn’t realize he’d started crying until now, and he wipes his cheek dry only for it to be licked by what is unmistakably Venom’s tongue. Eddie looks up and finds himself pressed against the thin edge of the doorway and Venom’s hulking black figure leaning over him. Eddie searches his opal eyes for something he can’t quite name before thinking fuck it and standing up on his tiptoes to pull Venom in for a kiss. When he finally pulls back, he meets Venom’s toothy smile with one of his own and says “Merry Christmas, V.”
“Merry Christmas, Eddie,” Venom answers. “Can we do that again?”
“I’d love to,” Eddie smiles, laughing as Venom reaches up and rips the mistletoe down.
“It is in the way, I do not like the feeling of it on the back of my head,” they explain. They both lean in for another kiss only to be interrupted by Anne, who is standing just a few feet away next to Dan, clearing her throat. Eddie groans at the mirthful glimmer in Anne’s eyes, knowing he’s about to regret ever coming here.
“I’m glad you two figured things out,” Dan starts diplomatically, only to be interrupted by Anne.
“Me too,” Anne says with a smirk. “But why don’t you both go home; we can meet up tonight for dinner, okay?” Eddie nods and Venom morphs into his floating head form.
“That would be very nice, thank you, Anne!” he says.
“No problem, big guy,” she says, winking. “See you later. Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas!” Eddie and Venom say in unison, leaving quickly, eager to continue where they left off. Eddie decides he can worry about Anne’s teasing later; for now, he just wants to enjoy the day with Venom.
