Dealing with weight gain and self acceptance
Weight gain is a sensitive topic for me. For the last 3 months I have been gaining weight after restrictive eating for a long time. I have been struggling with this new-found food freedom, hence developing BED. I have isolated myself and gone through extreme lows. I’ve tried fasting to get back to my old weight, then end up back at square one.
But I’m finally ready to share what I've learnt in hopes of helping:
It’s ok, weight fluctuates: As I grow older and change, my body changes with me, and even things around me are constantly changing. I have to accept the change and realise that I cannot control everything. I cannot count every calorie and wonder if I’m staying within my limit. It’s not a nice way to live life in constant fear and worry.
Making peace with my body: I’m tired of hating my body. Even at my lowest weight, I didn’t like my body. My maintained weight throughout the most of the last year was 42kgs. At that weight I was still not happy nor confident. I didn’t fit in any clothes and I really wanted some curves. I hated my body but I loved being skinny and having that ‘control’. Through my weight gain, I started being even more hateful towards my body, until I realised that I am ungrateful, and no matter at what weight I am, I will find and fixate on the things I don’t like. I am finally making peace with my body and thanking it for all that it’s got me through. I love my new cute curves. I love my fuller cheeks. My body has changed and I am beautiful regardless of ever-changing beauty standards.

here's a helpful tip:
if you're craving something super or unhealthy or can't risk going over your calorie limit for the day, try having a few drops (not diluted) of mio water flavoring/enhancer. personally i like the sport & energy ones the most since there's b vitamins in both. it can taste a bit salty or sweet/sour but it makes me forget about my cravings. i end up not feeling hungry anymore. also there's 0 calories in them

Ana tips ( not pro ana , just tips for those who need it rn because I know - saying stop isn’t going to be impactful enough. )
1. The way you eat before the fast , is how you eat after the fast. Don’t fast right after a binge to punish yourself. Pick yourself up the next day - and continue as usual.
2. Don’t say “ I can’t eat that. “ say “ I don’t eat that. “ these are two very similar but very different statements. Saying you “ can’t “ triggers the mind into wanting the foods you don’t want to eat more so by saying “ I don’t eat that. “ is saying you are allowed - but you simply don’t eat like that.
3. Count down in your head 5 4 3 2 1 and dump the food you were so very scared to consume in the bin. By doing this - you don’t have time to dwell on whether you should or not eat it. It’ll prevent you from ending up cramming the food into your mouth. This method can also be used for quickly jumping into action for work outs !!!
4. Moderation is honestly key. The reason why we binge on days we slightly overeat because of an unhealthy food choice is because we have a “ be all end all “ mindset. By only allowing yourself to have such unhealthy foods on days you “ fuck up. “ it means you have no sense of when to stop. Allow yourself to have chocolate , cookies , cakes and crisps. You are not going to gain weight from eating such foods if you keep it within your calorie limit !!
5. Don’t give yourself a way of making a binge be “ ok “. Saying things like “ I’ll starve for a week starting tomorrow. “ is not a way of getting rid of the problem. Doing this only creates more problems - for we all know the day following we will be feeling so bummed out we will most likely fall into overheating again. Don’t encourage binges by punishment !!!
6. As much as we love to eat whilst watching YouTube / Netflix - it’s honestly bad for us. It’s so easy to vacantly overheat whilst doing so because our mind is not concentrated on the food in front of us. By sitting alone - with no distractions and completely focusing on our food , we feel more aware of what we are eating therefore we feel more full !!!
7. Hate green tea ??? I feel you !! So what are you doing ? Go get some caramel green tea !! It takes the edge off.
8. Remember that you are not going to gain weight in 1 day and nor are you going to lose a significant amount of weight in 1 day !!! Don’t sabotage your goals because you can’t get it instantly !!
9. Feeling hungry? As weird as it sounds - go brush your damn teeth. By doing this - you are telling your mind that eating time is over. This honestly prevents me from binging super often !!
10. If you are in the midst of a binge and need something to snap you out of it - say something out loud that’ll make you realise what you are doing. I saw someone say they used the keyword “ control “ and I’ve been using the same word ever since and it’s honestly helped a lot !!!
Hope these helped !! I felt like sharing these as they’ve really helped me !! As always - stay safe !! <3

Do you know the feeling when you just woke up, drinking a coffee without milk and sugar on an empty stomach so that you burn more calories over the day? I‘m not saying I like this feeling, but that‘s exactly what I’m saying (btw I just add a little bit of milk, lol)

People are complementing me for loosing weight and asking me how I did it…I mean, first of all thanks for the compliments, but I kind of starved my self there, so I kinda lied, but also kind of told the truth (if you know what I mean) to how I did it. Of course I don’t tell em’ that I starve/ have starved :D
