thinking about how people used to say “this is my aesthetic” and now they ask “what aesthetic is this?” something something curating for yourself vs looking to participate in something already made for you

#idk someone could argue that there’s often little communities around aesthetics #so people asking are hoping not to fit in in the conformity sense but in the belonging one #might be a fair argument but there’s always the option to just. look at who the person whose aeathetic you like is following #follow those people too and so on #which may be a lost skill on tiktok given how people commented that they couldn’t find people to follow on tumblr #anyway idk the other thing is that aesthetic seems more uh. prescriptive these days?#and on tiktok especially; your aesthetic isn’t just a set of visuals you find appealing (like it was on here for the longest time)#(arguably still is here today) but encompasses how you dress how you do your hair and makeup and even how you decorate your home #even out to the books you read or music you listen to #and like it’s not like there’s not a precedent for that. but usually those kinda went the other way? new band on the scene w distinctive #looks; other people who like the music take notes and soon you’ve got yourself a subculture #substance yielding aesthetic and not an amalgamation of substance starting from the end point of a curated aesthetic #a pre-curated aesthetic; not one that’s being curated by the individual but one that the individual chooses like idk a dnd class #and there’s always been trends and shit maybe this is just old man yelling at cloud #but like. maybe it’s that all of this is being done and posted #and it’s not like you can’t post things you’re proud of to share them but how much of it is bc you like it for yourself #eating tree bark

Made loose leaf tea but only googled how to do it after I did it so I'm kind of just sitting here eating the tea leaves from the bottom of the mug while I wait for it to cool

"The Emperor is dead so the children won't get an education" did they mean the education the Emperor was CANONLY not planning on giving anyone? That Ferdie had to suggest to her so she'd be like "oh wait yeah that's a thing isn't it" ?

What surprises me the most is this emphasis on education.

You have people starving, being taxed to oblivion, some of them even used as guinea pigs to be turned in new Crest Beasts, but somehow, Supreme Leader planned to offer education for all, after talking to Ferdie, at the end of the war?

Or are we implying Adrestia sucks so much that even when Supreme Leader was the Emperor for around 5 years, she has to wait until the end of the War to start creating schools and her random utopia for her people?

Nopes pretty much answers to this question lol, Supreme Leader enjoys, iirc, 3 years of peace where she can reform Adrestia as she wants before declaring War on the CoS, and yet, there's no mention of "education for the children" having been put in place during her tenure.

Pit and N would be friends like, Pit see’s N as kinda a really mellowed out Palutena, and N see’s Pit as extremely similar to Hilbert so they both connect decently quickly. Not to mention both would have similar abandonment issues and both are very autistic coded. I think N would infodump random Pokemon facts to Pit and he would listen intensely

i like yellowjackets so far but i have a little kernel of frustration with it because like. well the real life event their circumstances are clearly inspired by was nothing like this!!!! every time some people get lost in the wilderness and start eating each other all the media about it is like omg omg they went FERAL and DEVOURED their own...... that's usually not what happened though. the boring truth is that those people just got really fucking hungry and started eating other people who had already died.
