>>> Since it’s been a year and ten months since your last domestic activities, introduce yourselves for us. Kiu: I’m the leader, Kiu. I’m the main vocal in the team. Honestly, during todays shoot I realized my face is darker than I remembered (laughs). It’s like a black bean. It’s because of this that I’m planning to go buy a skin whitening face-pack.

BornUs: I’m BornUs. Even though I’m in charge of sub-vocals, I hope I can find an exact position. (t/n meaning by this that he is the only member not in charge of one specific thing since he’s the one that bounces from vocal to dance to rap)

G.LOW: I’m G.LOW in charge of rap. Though I’m not a native foreigner, since I studied abroad in the past I’m in charge of English (laughs). I thought I was good (at it) when I came back from the US but it’s hard since I wasn’t born and raised there. But if I were to go back, I’d do well. I hope I can look forward to that.

Ato: I’m K-MUCH’s maknae and everyone’s gift Ato, in charge of dance and Japanese in the team. In the future, please look after me.

>>> This is your second pictorial after becoming a group; how is it? Kiu: We wanted to have a shoot so badly and having a pictorial with bnt after a long while has been fun so of course we want to do it again next time. G.LOW: Without all the assistance (from staff), I would have been too intimidated. Just like last time, you filmed me well so I’m thankful. BornUs: Just like last time, I think the pictures will come out pretty so I’m really looking forward (to seeing them). Ato: The first time I was too nervous so my poses and expressions weren’t good, but as time passed the atmosphere got better so it seems to be going better.

>>> How do you feel now that you have full-blown domestic activities? Kiu: The public expects a lot from us and we want to quickly show them how much we’ve matured compared to before. For rookies, it’s rare to have a comeback after 2 years so we have returned to our debut mindset of just working hard.

>>> I’m curious about your overseas activities. Give us two examples of episodes that happened. BornUs: We went to Japan for one month to promote. One night, Kiu went out at dawn to get lunch-boxes for all the members. G.LOW: Kiu-hyung isn’t the type to buy things for others (laughs). BornUs: And then out of nowhere he suddenly comes in and tells us he almost died. Japan and Korea drive on different sides of the road and even though we’ve gone to Japan several times, he only just learned that.

Kiu: I’ll tell the story. So (laughs) I was waiting to cross at a crosswalk for a long time and the signal stayed red. It was at dawn so I didn’t know if the system to change (the light) would work when I pressed the button and I thought I was in trouble so I looked to the left to cross and a car passed me from the right. I confused myself with Korea. G.LOW: The lunch-boxes all went flying (laughs). Kiu: Also in Korea it was Winter but when we went to Malaysia it was so interesting. We went to a swimming pool and ate a lot of tasty things at a night market where we made good memories. (t/n Kiu just randomly changes subject here?? This isn’t a translation error lol.)

>>> So do you have any memories of being stopped by people or fans recognizing you? BornUs: We would be happy if someone did (laughs). Kiu: When ever we pass by people while we’re doing things we wonder if they think “they seem like they could be singers” but then they just keep passing. It’s a shame (laughs).

>>> Are there any memories from when you were performing overseas that come up? Kiu: During our last concert in Japan at the end of September I cried. Originally I don’t cry but since it was the last performance and I wished we’d done a bit better, the tears just flowed. What really helped is that day, the members all wrote letters to each other. I faltered when I saw the one from BornUs.

>>> I’m curious about the contents of it. BornUs: I’ve never given Kiu words of praise while we’ve lived together. He works hard in his own way but I’ve only acknowledge it a little so I was really sorry that I hadn’t done more. So in the letter is the various ways I’m thankful (to him) and what I wrote really came from my heart. Kiu: When we went to Japan my throat wasn’t in a good condition so I worried a lot. But I didn’t want the members to know so I kept it to myself, but then BornUs just told me that he knew while we were at home. I didn’t know they knew, but I definitely wasn’t disappointed (laughs). G.LOW: We knew how much Kiu-hyung’s throat was hurting him. Even if he didn’t say anything, we would all definitely know. Ato: That’s right. We knew even though he didn’t tell us anything.

>>> During your Japanese concerts, member Ato seems to have had a big role (in the group). Kiu: We didn’t need an interpreter because his Japanese is so good. Ato: I enjoyed our Japanese schedules more than anything. I continuously studied Japanese but in my opinion there’s no better way to study than conversation with a Japanese person. Thus, to me, our Japanese concerts were a way for me to study while gaining stage experience as well as other larger meanings. Above everything else, Japanese is a good chance for me to express my charms. G.LOW: That’s right. Ato did really well. But I didn’t even know a greeting in Japanese. My head doesn’t hold anything except English (laughs).

>>> While speaking to the members, it seems like Ato still has his accent. Ato: Yes, my hometown is Changwon, Gyeongnam but my friends are from around Seoul. Sometimes I’ll meet up with my friends and use my accent but since the member hyungs are all from Seoul and use the standard accent I’m losing mine a little. It’s awkward sometimes (laughs). G.LOW: If he meets his friends once he’ll start using his accent around us a lot (laughs).

>>> When you don’t have schedules, what do you usually do? As well as the members individually? G.LOW: We debuted and when we didn’t have schedules I didn’t really do anything specific or even once meet up with anyone (laughs). During our trainee days, aside from once, I didn’t meet anyone. And while I was at home I’d just lay around playing with my phone. I didn’t even leave the house, I just sat around and I almost lived my life on my back (laughs). BornUs: That’s right. I was the same. Even to the point where I didn’t eat well. Like vegetables (laughs). Kiu: In my case, I like sports. I like using fitness equipment as well as ball games like soccer.

>>> What are each of your individual ideal types? KIU: I strangely like a woman who looks good wearing glasses. Also a sexy woman? (laughs) G.LOW: Overall I look at her body but I pay more attention to her hip (?) (laughs). BornUs: I’m really skinny so my ideal type is someone with model-like visuals. My ideal type is actress Kim Minhee. Kiu: When Kim Minhee’s movie came out, BornUs went and saw it 200 times. Ato: I like a wise woman who can change me. Kiu&G.LOW&BornUs: Nope. That’s a lie. Please speak truthfully. Ato: I’m happy if she’s pretty (laughs).

>>> Who are your role models? Kiu&BornUs: We really like Big Bang’s Taeyang.

BornUs: I went to a Big Bang concert when I was in high school and as soon as I saw his singing and dancing I thought ‘I’m going to be a singer’.

G.LOW: I really love Jay Park. He’s a person who, when you see him, you see his feel more than his appearance and that makes him really cool.

Ato: I like Will.I.Am from my favorite group, Black Eyed Peas. His music’s color is good but Psy from Korea is my role model. He makes music that is popular and that everyone can relate to so he’s really cool.

>>> I gathered from what G.LOW mentioned before that during your trainee days you were dissatisfied (t/n the word here is in the sense of not doing enough or being good enough). How is it now? G.LOW: After debuting I just snap myself out of it. I say things like ‘Don’t be like this’. Then I listen to myself.

BornUs: We don’t have narrow-minded personalities so we admit (our shortcomings) cooly and work hard to fix them.

>>> Then now you’ve gone from a 5 membered K-MUCH to 4 members. How is the atmosphere? Kiu: Going from 5 members to 4, the atmosphere is quite different. If before it was noisy then now our team’s mood is more calm and has the feel of our members being mature.

>>> Tell me about your former member. Kiu: Firstly, we want to say that it’s not in our nature to cause damage to someone else’s character. Since there was absolutely no discord (between us), we want to think of (his well-being) by not mentioning him needlessly. We still keep in touch with him.

>>> What was the reason for changing your name from ‘Northern Snakehead Fish’ to ‘K-MUCH’? Kiu: Even when we first began activities as Northern Snakehead Fish we used K-MUCH as the group name. However, the pronunciation was difficult for foreign (fans) so we appealed to the company to change it.

>>> If you could make another domestic comeback soon, what kind of appearance would you like to show? Kiu&G.LOW: We want to be a group that can make people think ‘Are these those Northern Snakehead guys?’ and ‘Lets try to be a fan of the group once’. Compared to before, we want to show a more mature appearance.

>>> Before beginning domestic activities, it seems that K-MUCH will have to work hard. Kiu: The advantages only we have are good to highlight, and we’ve survived, so we must build public awareness and let people know about the group a lot, I think it’s the most important thing. In order for people to think “there is even a good group like this”, we are challenging ourselves with things we have not tried, so we will start start with a base of a lot of effort. Ato: Like Kiu-hyung said, we need to maximize the advantages only our team has. Until now, there were the songs ‘Good to Go’ and ‘December 24th’, and ‘On The Hook’ and when we finished working and listened to it and said they were good songs, we were really proud. Now when we say K-MUCH, we will try to become the image I hear and believe in.

BornUs: Anyways, since that long period of doing overseas activities, I know friends quit being singers. To tell you a lot about us, because we think we should shine, for that, we will run forward looking only forward. In doing well without much practice, we will work hard to make up for it. G.LOW: That’s right. Inside the advantages only we had, we survived the best we could, so we will expand. In the future, please give K-MUCH a lot of love and attention.
