Okay guys I got a fic idea for Draco/Ron

Basically, Ron has one of those "I hate him but I also want him to kiss me" style crushes ln Draco since like the middle of third year, but it's only at a random birthday party for some ravenclaw student or smth that, while drunk/high he accidently lets it slip in front of Draco. There's a bit of light teasing from Draco, but neither are sober and Draco is stressed from his Dad being in Azkaban and also the whole Mission (I imagine this is sixth year), so he decides "fuck it", and they spend the night making out in a "we won't talk about this tomorrow" way.

But then they start to hang out more, and are generally just... (a bit) less assholy to each other, and it's like a semi slow burn with a smoothie of weird feeling as well as not knowing how to explain to their friend and family the whole "we hated each other but are now dating" thing.

Basically, slow burn slice-of-life fluff&angst, enemies to friends that fight and makeout to lover. Also I have a "meet the parents" scene all planned in my head and it is BEAUTIFUL

The classroom was filled with the sound of potion mixing and laughter as Snape walked out having Been called by Dumbledore. It seemed like the room was divided into Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Everyone was separated; Hufflepuff from Slytherin because they were opposite. Ravenclaw from Gryffindor because they seemed to have a clash that was between the two; maybe it was bravery or who was smarter it was unknown.

We could tell why Slytherin and Ravenclaw got along or at least tolerated one another because they had a common enemy, they didn't like Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. The two were friendly, brave, and there for each other which Ravenclaw and Slytherin were not. Now don't misunderstand that a few people in each house could have been in another; but most of the house usually didn't like the other.

So Draco of all people was more than confused when a particular girl in Hufflepuff had managed to catch his eye. She seemed completely transparent because he knew everything about her. He knew this wouldn't work; he was a death eater and she was an angel in yellow.

So he continued on trying to ignore her laugh, her smile, how she would help the teachers carry things or when she walked the first years to class.

He felt almost bad for wanting her when he was so dark and mean; but the other half of him thought he deserved her after everything he was going through, so he went to her table in potions class and Stood in front of her.

So then I took my turn oh, what a thing to have done and it was all yellow - Coldplay

her sugar cookie smile graced her lips and it made his stomach turn and twist; he swallowed hard as he seemed to actually feel shy, worried, scared much like a child. His eyes locked with hers and his heart stopped; could he do this take her down a path that was full of monsters. He suddenly felt selfish, his chest tightened."Draco, are you all right?" She said looking concerned; did she not know who he was or what he had done. Of course she did, she said his name but not just that asked if he was okay.

A gloss came to his blue eyes. "I-i'm fine I'm fi-i'm okay" he breathed. she looked like she was searching him and he emptied, like an open book told all his secrets; a tiny boy with a loving look casted his way, He was bound to break only the Snickers of her friend reminded him he was there, and all of sudden he remembered why he buried it all away, so he didn't look weak, soft, like a boy who was afraid of his father or a coward. he quickly left the table; his friends looked at him puzzled.

"What was that? Blaise said, frowning. "nothing just… leave me be" he huffed, turning back to his work. The rest of the class went rather fast but Draco's thoughts were probably what made it move like a movie on fast forward. He walked the halls going to hide away when a hand grabbed his wrist.

he turned back wide eyed; only to be blinded by the sun herself. "It's okay to feel Draco Malfoy, no one expects you to be a strong wave. Every wave must lay low so the boats can go '' she said, hugging him. He was statue-like in her bear hug. "Hug me, draco'' she whispered into his Slytherin robes; his head fell into her neck and tears rolled down his face. She smelled comforting, warm, and he began to feel weak again.

He was afraid to let go in her arms; he didn't know what everyone would say later at the sight of green and yellow becoming one. It was going to cause some gossip; but would it matter if all he could see was the sun. No amount of cruelty could take away from this moment where he felt he didn't have to hold it all in, he was protected by this small girl.

It was refreshing to not feel like he needed to hold himself together; a girl, a Hufflepuff, had been the light breaking into his dark. What a stranger thing but was the wizard world normal not in the slightest. so we could have a Hufflepuff girl protect a boy.

While it might not be one of the most popular ships in Harry Potter fandom, I like this one a lot. While creating the first art, I was trying to reimagine the scene in the Room of Requirement from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where, in this version, Ron and Draco would confess the romantic feelings for each other and make out while the room was naturally still burning. That'd make quite a scene, wouldn't you agree? I would love to see Harry's and Hermione's faces when they watch them kiss 😆

I struggled a lot with canon-divergent because I almost always read EWE, but I avoid canon-rewrites, resorting or what-if fics.

A Soft Spot for Lost Causes (13099 words) by Helenish (Draco/Ron, Explicit)

"Remember at school? Weasel? You’re so poor and dirty?" Ron said encouragingly "You hated me." "I did," Draco said.

I first read this fic in 2004 when canon was still open so it differs wildly from the last books. This is not a pairing I normally go for, but Helenish is so good at writing messy, uncomfortable sexual situations. (The warning on this fic is not for Draco/Ron.)

I got this story off @ashesandhackles fest recs and devoured it this morning. I am now a Prongsfoot shipper. This fic altered my brain chemistry. James and Sirius in this are both too much and so deeply emotionally entangled. The intensity of feeling is off the charts. It felt like I was getting a second hand high reading this fic.

Who should Draco end up with? (I’m sorry but I won’t be adding Harry in this, trust me, it hurts me more than it hurts you)

I want to know what you guys think: when it comes to a partner for Draco, who should it be? I ship Draco with Harry but we’re not counting that, I guess Astoria, since, I do love me some tragic romance, but the impact and their story is more interesting than the ship itself. But Draco is 100% gay in my mind.

Normally I don’t like fanon shipping but if we consider all the facts from the books in regards of Draco Shipping.

In regards to Draco shipping. I think Drarry and Dron is more possible than Dramione. Draco never made any attention to her. The only insult he could muster up was Mudblood. Compared to that, look at the case of Harry and Ron. For Harry he did try to make his life miserable, he wanted to be a seeker in 2 nd year, because I’m pretty sure Harry was a seeker in his 1st. And with Ron he did kind of made up a song of him being a king and orchestrated the entire Slytherin to sing, the dedication 😂.

In my opinion,

Drarry>Drastoria>Dransy>Dron>>>Something in between >>>>>>Dramione.

I only support canon shipping but if it comes done. This will be the perfect match for Draco. As it is shown in the books. And by the fact Draco would never go for hermione. Come on people in canon he married a pureblood. I don’t think he changed his ways for a long time.

Pairing: Pansy Parkinson/Neville Longbottom Rating: E This is a gorgeous Pansy Parkinson character study, spanning her younger years to post-hogwarts. She becomes reacquainted with Neville Longbottom and discovers who she’s meant to be in this slow-burn ETL.

2. Down a Hill at High Speed by @tepre

Pairing: Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy Rating: E This 8th year fic is the BEST sex-pollen trope story I’ve ever read. Period. Tepre is a genius with sexual tension.

3. May Contain Nuts by scoradh

Pairing: Harry Potter/George Weasley Rating: M This is the fic that I REFUSE TO SHUT UP ABOUT (sorry if you’ve been caught in the crosshairs.) George is trying out a new line for XXX products at the joke shop. Harry is George’s go-to for product testing. Contains found family, dubious sweets, broken George, and NUTS of course! *Note the Archive warning for MCD is in reference to Fred, I think. No Harrys or Georges are harmed in the making of this fic.

4. Savour by @mignon-chignon

Pairing: Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy Rating: E This is just pure PWP. And all my favorite kinks. Definitely not safe for ANYTHING but a quiet room, a glass of your favorite beverage, and a favorite toy. Mind the tags.

5. Like a Brother Would by @wolfpants

Pairing: Harry Potter/Ron Weasley Rating: E This Deathly Hallows AU explores the posibility of Ron returning back to the tent that night in the Forest of Dean. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read and reread this. I’m obessed with this friends to lovers pairing, this vulnerable and delicious fic. One of the best Ronarry I’ve ever read.

6. The Luxury of a Regret by @swoontodeath

Pairing: Horace Slughorn/Regulus Black, Horace Slughorn/Sirius Black Rating: E IT’S A DEAD DOVE, FOLKS! But it is so creepy and beautiful. I CANNOT stop thinking about it. Imagine if this were canon, Slughorns obession with Harry would be THAT MUCH CREEPIER.

7. Hate, Lead the Way! by oh_black_sparrow

Pairing: Walburga Black/Orion Black Rating: E One of the Rare Pair fest 2022 stories I fell head-over-heels in love with. We know her as the shrewish shrieking portrait permanently stuck to the wall in 12 Grimmauld Place, but in this rage-filled story, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

8. Manufacturing Consent by onefiftyeight

Pairing: Lucius Malfoy/Hermione Granger Rating: E HEAR ME OUT. I don’t normally go for this pairing, but THIS FIC is deliciously sinister. A masterclass in gaslighting and manipulation. A breeding kink extravaganza. Crack at its finest. Give it a chance, I promise you won’t regret it. Mostly.

9. Hot and Bothered by @roseharpermaxwell

Pairing: Ron Weasley/Draco Malfoy, background Dramione Rating: T Who’s the better kisser? Only one way to find out… (Guys. This is reason #1 why Dron is amazing. Mic Drop.)

10. I Like Your Skirt by @the-francakes

Pairing: Ron Weasley/Harry Potter Rating: E Aside from the fact that Fran is lovely and wrote this gift for me, RON AND HARRY are SO YUMMY IN THIS!!! Dual POV, Friends to Lovers, flirting, pining and no small amount of filthy content. The epilogue chapter (bonus smut) is to die for. It will forever reside in my wank bank.

Thoughts on ron x draco?

Not many thoughts. Just a guilty pleasure ship I have.

I like the Romeo and Juliet vibes of the ship. Unlike his rivalry with Harry, Draco and Ron's rivalry is also a family rivalry. So it's interesting to see how each family accepts either boy. I just love the thought of the Malfoys adopting Ron into their small family. Or Draco experiencing the lows/highs of a huge family.

Plus, I can just imagine that in a different world, Ron and Draco would be fun friends. The kind of bros who snark and insult each other every minute, but would lash out at anyone who did the same. The "I can hurt him but you can't" sort of energy.

I also think they would have an interesting dynamic. A fascinating conflict with the Ronarry friendship is that Ron is surrounded by friends who overshadow him, especially Harry. You can say that his friendship with Harry is what makes Ron special in his family. And I don't think Harry ever truly understands that insecurity Ron has. But I think that Draco and Ron could in theory meet each other's needs better which is what I like seeing explored in Slytherin!Ron fics. Ron can be a great listener to make Draco feel important. And just imagine if all the antagonism Draco gave Harry was positive attention fixated on Ron?? So Draco gets a loyal bestie and Ron gets someone who puts him as number 1. Win-win. Gosh, I can just imagine Draco straight up claiming Ron Weasley as his and getting jealous if the other became too friendly with other Slytherins lol.

I guess I did have a lot to say. I haven't read more than a handful of Dron fics but I have thought about them as friends a few times. I think they would have been great together in different circumstances. Dron has zero chance based on canon but that's the purpose of fanon!
