As If To Turn Back Time

Carlisle Cullen X Female!Reader
——————————————————————————————————
Pairing: Carlisle Cullen x Female!Reader
Genre: One-Shot, fluff, reunion
Warnings: literally just ignoring Carlisle’s backstory a bit cause I’m too stupid to understand dates and such, failed attempt at me writing people talking from the 1600s with only Bridgeton as a guide
Summary: You and Carlisle met in the 1600s, you had grown close and wanted to come clean to him. However, you had no choice but to leave. The two of you meet years later, Carlisle realising you are a vampire and you discovering that he had turned.
Word Count: 2.7k
A/n: This poor draft has been sitting in my drafts for way too damn long, so long that you can probably see how my writing style changes half way through :(
——————————————————————————————————
The two of you had often walked long walks during the day, talking about seemingly anything and everything. The conversations never pausing or becoming overbearingly dull, it seemed as if you could talk for hours on end.
You, despite not wanting to, grew close to Carlisle, even starting to be on a first name basis. He had always been gentlemen like and was not like the other men you’d talked to, simply wanting somebody to ‘woo’ and eventually marry.
Of course, you never stayed long enough for engagement to even be considered.
However, you didn’t want to leave this one. He was kind, kind unlike the others. His words were genuine, his smile was not faked nor was it practiced. He didn’t say the things he wanted you to hear, he was true about his thoughts and feelings.
He was as though he was too good to he true.
Carlisle thought this about you too. Kind, genuine, true. However, he was correct about being too good to be true, because you knew you had to leave, to break his heart.
Each evening, after parting ways with the Doctor, you cursed yourself. How could you be so careless with your heart? So quick to fall in love? You would outlive him for God’s sake! You would leave before you even got the chance to tell him you loved him, before he could even realise that you were going to leave.
There was no way to ever have a human and a vampire together, not without the Volturi knowing or without the human dying. Having both end up being dead, Carlisle would be buried and you would have half your heart ripped apart. There was no way to run from this problem. You loved him.
You loved Carlisle Cullen.
On June 2nd, 1661, at 3:26pm on a Tuesday afternoon, you had decided to come clean to Carlisle. He was already beginning to piece together that there was something wrong with you, not eating, ice cold skin, never being out in the sun, so coming clean was not going to be a big deal.
However, when you decided that, you had heard talk of your unusual behaviour and your never aging body. That was when it hit you, you had to leave Carlisle before being truthful to him. There was no time for rushed letters or quick apologies.
And so by the 3rd, on the Wednesday morning, you were already out of London and heading to Scotland where you planned to soon move to… Well, you weren’t too sure. You had planned to go to Scotland, but you knew you most likely had to go further, with all your time spent with Carlisle you didn’t think of where you would go next.
When it hid Midday of the Wednesday you left, Carlisle had gone to the house you were staying at, an old friend of yours. He knocked on the wooden door, expecting you to show up in one of your usual light blue dresses. However, one of the Lady of the house’s maids opened the door.
Confusion had hit Carlisle almost immediately, you were always there to greet him, as if you already knew it was him at the door, “Excuse me, Miss. Is Miss L/n home?”
The brunette woman shook her head slightly, “No, Sir. She left not too long ago, I’m afraid.”
“Do you know when she will return?” Carlisle asked, questions circling around his head, you never mentioned leaving.
Once again, the woman shook her head, “She won’t be returning, Sir. Miss L/n said she was not to return.”
Heartbroken, Carlisle almost forgot how to breathe, “She has left London?”
This time, the woman nodded, “I am afraid so, Sir, she said it was something of last minute arrangements, she was adamant there could be no postponing. She mentioned something about Scotland, or Germany.”
Then, right there and then, Carlisle was certain his heart had broken into a multitude of pieces, never to be pieced together again. Had it been something he’d done? Weren’t the two of you getting along well?
• 1936, Forks, Washington •
Thirst was making your throat burn, making you agitated and irritated. You haven’t been able to slip away and hunt yet, since the work you had was piling up and unavoidable, so you had been pretty much relaying on pure luck that you wouldn’t rip open these people’s throats.
It was tempting. Really, really tempting. Especially since the majority of your co-workers were stuck-up, stubborn, assholes of men who got on your nerves on a daily basis and did not respect women what-so-ever. However, with a seemingly unbearable thirst that made your entire body beg to kill them, it became more easy for your thoughts to drift to murder and made the thirst even more unbearable. Almost as if it would kill you.
If you could get headaches, you were sure you would’ve gotten one from these idiotic people. You watched the time and counted the seconds, hoping that focusing on the time would make the thoughts of their blood fade away into the back if your mind.
You barely made another minute before you abruptly stood from your stool and muttered, “Excuse me for a moment, I feel sick.”
You hastily left before anyone could say anything, then when you exited the building and was out of site, you ran towards the woods in hopes to find literally any animal.
You, centuries ago, decided to feed only on animals after slaughtering a family of four in the late 1500s and going into the early 1600s. The guilt still pulls at you randomly, which is why you started studying sciences, history and art wherever allowed women to have an education.
When you had gone far enough from the town, you tried to find anything. Luckily, there was a deer close, the pure smell of its blood had almost sent you mental.
Without even hesitating, you ran towards the sent, making it run from the loud rustling you caused. However, it didn’t get far because you had mercilessly murdered it and started feeding on it before it even fell to the floor.
You might as well have been a newborn with the way you were acting, impulsive and without a second thought. Well, perhaps this would have been a lesson to regularly feed instead of putting work first.
When you had your fill of the deer, and it was completely drained of its blood, you had stood from your space and simply started walking. You weren’t ready to go back to your workplace, certain that if one of those bastards said something stupid again, you would kill them and probably end up getting hunted by the Volturi from the inevitable frenzy it would send you in.
You had been in the of calming yourself down when you heard the very distant noise of footsteps, fast ones. Panic hit you almost instantly, you hadn’t been aware of other vampires in Forks.
Listening attentively, you prepared yourself for a fight. Often, vampires were somewhat territorial, if you’d accidentally wondered onto another’s land, you were expecting a fight. Usually, you were always aware if there were other vampires. However, clearly, you were not as careful this time.
However, you became terrified when you started hearing four pairs of footsteps. You definitely couldn’t fight four vampires, not by yourself anyway. Sure, your ability was good, but it took a lot of effort to hypnotise one person - let alone four.
Wiping the small specs of blood from your mouth, you spun your head around, scanning your surroundings. They were definitely getting closer, no doubt about that.
In seconds, four vampires appeared in front of you. One with short black hair - almost a buzz cut -, one with brunette hair, one with long blond hair and the last one, oh, the last one you knew too damn well.
“Holy shit…” You muttered, “Carlisle?”
If vampires could cry, you knew you would start sobbing right there and then. Ugly crying like you had done so when you were being turned over four hundred and fifty years ago.
“Y/n?” Carlisle asked, as if you’d been a ghost. Maybe, in his eyes, it was all you were. A phantom, a ghost, something of the unimaginable.
You took a step closer to the four, each eyes clouded with utter confusion, then Carlisle's whose eyes were clear with a multitude of emotions, “If I had known you’d been bit, I would have helped you.”
You were hesitant to hug him, even though all you wanted to do was tackle him down and feel his arms around you.
“Carlisle, who is this?” The woman with blond hair asked, she seemed hesitant to trust you and seemed defensive - as if ready for a fight, even if Carlisle knew you.
Carlisle’s eyes did not move from yours, a faint smile on his face as he recalled memories from lifetimes ago, “An old friend, from before I turned.”
This time, Carlisle walked closer to you and in a second, he’d wrapped his arms around you and had you in a tight embrace. It seemed so odd to feel his warmth completely replaced with coldness, he'd finally matched your temperature, you didn't find him warm and he didn't find you cold anymore.
You completely melted in his arms, breathing in his scent and closing your eyes in content, you'd never hugged him before, you and him had only exchanged quick and harmless touches of the hand when you knew him as a mortal. It was nice. “I’m so sorry I left, Carlisle. I’m so sorry.”
He had one hand planted behind your neck, making his fingers intertwined in your hair, while his other hand was rested on your back. You knew you would have felt chills go up your back if you were still human, “It’s okay, I understand why you left now.”
When you let go of Carlisle, he let go as well, though, you could tell the man was hesitant to let go. You took a few steps back and took in the other three’s appearance. They all had one thing in common, yellow eyes - one that always reminded you of gold, meaning they all fed on animals like you.
“Hi.” You awkwardly said to the three teenagers, “Sorry to intrude.”
“Who are you exactly?” The brunette haired boy asked, he seemed tense, he didn't trust you and you assumed he must have been one of the eldest - taking Carlisle out of the equation.
You awkwardly fiddled with your hands, a habit you’d had since you were human, “My name’s Y/n, I met Carlisle a few hundred years ago.”
The three exchange looks with each other, then the blond woman looked back at you, her voice was cold. Sharp, "How come we have never heard of you?"
That was when Carlisle spoke up again, turning to the younger vampires, "I thought she was dead." Then he turned to you, "I looked for you, but after you left for Scotland, there was no trace of you."
You stared at Carlisle for a few seconds, did you feel relief or upset that he knew where you had left for? "You knew I left for Scotland?"
"Yes." He simply said, "One of the women who worked for your friend told me, but also mentioned something about Germany."
"Ah, yes." You smiled softly at yourself, looking at your boots. It was almost as if you reminiscing over those sweet, old memories, "Miss Delphine, a sweet lady, a shame I had to leave in such a hurry." You looked back up at Carlisle. "I was headed to Scotland, but I knew I was going to go further, just in case."
When no one spoke again, and the silence grew awkward, Carlisle turned the other three, then back to you, "Y/n, let me introduce you to my family, Edward, Rosalie and Emmett."
You nodded at them nervously, you were never good at introductions, even when you were expected to do them so frequently due to your consistent moving. “Hello.”
There was an odd silence between the five of you, but Carlisle was quick to end the awkwardness. It must have been odd. He had spent this much time by himself, believing that a dear friend of his was dead, only to find out you were perfectly fine - well, aside from the fact that you were a walking corpse for over four hundred years.
It was odd for you, you knew that too damn well. After all these centuries, beating yourself up for the unfavourable situation you and Carlisle were given - him having been a human when you met and you being a vampire. You had loved him for so long, never being able to get his damned voice out of your head, his smile, his face.
He was different from when you last saw him, that was one of the many things you were going to have to wrap your head around. His eyes were no longer their beautiful previous colour, now replaced by the shining gold colour you both now shared. He was paler than before, matching your frozen temperature and you could no longer smell his blood. Perhaps, you could be grateful for not having to take in the scent of his blood - it was a struggle for you all those years ago, and still arose as a problem even after centuries of living as a vampire.
"You three should head back home." Carlisle suggested to the three teenagers, they seemed hesitant at the thought, so Carlisle continued. "Please, me and Y/n have catching up to do."
It was took them a few moments to trust that Carlisle had faith in you, trusted that you wouldn't pose a threat of any kind. It was only when Carlisle made eye contact with the Edward boy, giving him a small nod. Edward had taken only a few, short seconds to give an approving nod, before speeding off with the two other hesitant vampires.
When the two of you were alone, really alone, you both simply stared at each other. Both of you wanted to say something, anything. But how could you? It had been around three hundred years since the two of you last each other, what if that spark between you two had died out? What if you two could no longer hold a meaningful, flowing conversation like you did before?
"Carlisle, I-" You only sighed out quietly, rubbing you eyes with your hand. "I've missed you, so much."
Carlisle only gave you a small smile, he took a step closer to you. "I have too."
You looked up at his golden eyes, you would miss his old coloured eyes - you decided - because you had found his previous eye colour so mesmerising, so different from yours. You wouldn't have wanted this cruel fate for Carlisle, never in your entire immortal life. Though, how bad could it really be? He was like you now, there's was no longer anything stopping you from trying to rekindle that old flame that burnt in your cold, dead heart for him.
You swiftly wrapped your arms around Carlisle, hugging him tightly. It wasn't long before his arms around around you, too. It had been the first time you two had ever hugged in the long time you've known each other. It held up to your expectations, to say the least.
"I don't want to lose you, Carlisle." You admitted quietly. "Not again. I don't want to leave your side, not like last time."
"I don't want that either." The blond replied almost as soon as you stopped talking, he didn't even want you to move from his embrace. "So don't leave my side."
"And stay?" You asked slowly.
"Stay for good." Carlisle said, looking down at you as his hands moved to cup your face. "Please."
"You mean join your coven?" You asked in a hushed voice, looking up at him as he looked down at him. Your question only resulted in a quick nod from him, even if non-verbal answers always seemed so confident.
You wasted no time in leaning upwards and placing your lips onto his, closing your eyes as you kissed him, which he kissed back as soon as your actions registered in his head.
The best part about being a vampire was that you two didn't need to breathe, which meant you two could have stayed like that for a few moments. However, when you parted your lips, you looked up at him.
"I'm never leaving your side again."

Something new…
I want to write reader inserts. While I’ll keep up with my OC writing I want to keep the door open to add more than just that and leave you guys empty of my content when I have no ideas for that OC.
Here’s the thing, my OC writing would take more planning than reader inserts because it fits a timeline for that OC. With a reader insert I can just use a prompt and a character.
Speaking of which, my inbox is open! Have a request for the following characters? Send it in!

I rounded the corner within the halls of my father’s hospital, heading towards his oh so familiar office. I  had spent a good portion of my childhood playing in the office halls of the hospital so as to not get in the way of an emergency. Every take your child to work day, every early dismissal, random day off from school, and every weekend he had to work and couldn’t find someone to watch me, he brought me here up until I was about 12.
Now I was in college, studying biology as a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University. But today I was returning to Forks for my summer vacation in between my freshman and sophomore year. He was supposed to pick me up from the airport tomorrow but I had wanted to surprise him at work so I left a day early.
Reaching the door to his office, I entered. Embarrassingly, I had been so eager I hadn’t even checked if he was busy. As the door swung open I was met with the golden hair and eyes of the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. Given his youth I assumed he was a student or a resident but one look at his badge told me he was an attending.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” my father’s voice broke me from my trance.
“Hi!” I smiled at my father, ripping myself from the mystery man’s enchanting gaze. “I wanted to surprise you,” I explained, returning his hug. “I was so excited I didn’t even consider that you were busy. Sorry,” I apologized to both men.
“Don’t be,” the blond said in an almost melodic voice. “Trust me I understand the importance of family.”
“Yeah Dr. Cullen’s kids are here all the time,” my father laughed.
‘This guy has kids?’ I thought. ‘Plural? He looks no older than 25.’
Seemingly reading the confusion on my face he explained. “Adopted kids. My sister and I were foster kids so we always agreed we’d adopt as many as possible. So far we’ve adopted five teenagers, hoping to give them a new shot at life.”
“Wow,” was all I said, unsure of how to react. ‘Well this guy was definitely out,’ I noted to myself. ‘Not only is he your father’s colleague, he had five teenagers.’ “Well I should let you get back to it,” I said shyly, already backing out of my father’s office, embarrassed. “I’ll be at the house and we’ll get dinner after?” I suggested to my father.
“Sounds good. See you later sweetie,” he called after me.
~
Carlisle tried his hardest to focus on Dr. L/N’s words but he couldn’t, he was so focused on his colleague’s daughter. When she entered the office he had sucked in a breath he didn’t need. He had heard that some mate connections hit you like a brick but he hadn’t seen it with anyone except presumably between Rosalie and Emmett when she demanded he save him.
So as soon as he was done with his meeting he hopped into his Mercedes and headed towards Dr. L/N’s house. Once he reached it he found no cars in the driveway or any indication that there had been a car there recently, only wet footprints leading up to the porch and inside the door, presumably from Y/N getting out of a cab.
Continuing past the house he parked about half a mile away before running back to the house, a feat that only took him a couple seconds.
Taking a page from Edward’s book he began creeping along the side of the house, trying to spot Y/N through a window. But when he couldn’t find her he was forced to climb up some trees until he found her in what was presumably her bedroom, unpacking a suitcase full of clothes.
He watched, admiring the girl as she sorted through the clothes, tossing some in the laundry bin and others in piles to be sorted in the closet. He realized that he could watch her all day, admiring the quirks of her expression as she reacted to different situations. He hadn’t understood the other Cullens’ obsessions with each other until now.
He continued to watch for hours. His eyes sometimes drifting to the delicate curves of her body but always scolding himself for thinking of her like that given that she didn’t even really know him. But a small part of his mind whispered that she’d be his one day.
He only left when he heard her father’s car approaching, swearing to come back to learn more about her so he could strike up a conversation about her favorite things the next time they “accidentally” ran into each other.
~
The next time I visited the hospital wasn’t just to visit my father, it was because I had managed to slip in a puddle, earning myself a gash on the forehead.
I was sat in the waiting room going on two hours with a blood soaked rag pressed to my forehead. I truly didn’t mind waiting seeing as I knew there were far more injured people getting treated. But as I continued to wait I started to get more and more light headed. I began to make my way to the desk in hopes they could give me some answers when I got a head rush, stumbling into a very cold, hard chest.
“Y/N?” I heard the melodic voice again. This time dripping with concern. “What happened?”
“Oh nothing,” I dismissed, reluctantly pulling away from the grasp he had on my arms. “Just slipped in a puddle and my head kind of ate it,” I chuckled.
“How long have you been here?” he asked, more concern ebbing into his voice.
“I don’t know about two hours?” I shrugged, trying to not make a big deal of it. “Please don’t tell my dad, he’ll just get all concerned and angry and wonder why I wasn’t immediately treated.”
Inside, Carlisle was already feeling all those things I just described. “Well you shouldn’t have to sit there for two hours, bleeding out of your head. You should’ve been brought for a CT. C’mon, can’t have Dr. L/N’s daughter bleeding out in the waiting room.”
I smiled shyly as I felt his strong, cold hand be gently placed on my lower back as he guided me towards an exam room.
~
All throughout the exam Carlisle had to hold his breath. He has excellent control, it’s what many believe to be his special ability and it allows him to do what he loves but Y/N’s blood? The faintest smell alone made venom flood his mouth. And the blood soaked rag along with the fact that he had to bandage up her forehead didn’t help.
“Okay, that should do it,” he smiled, thankfully pulling back from his mate as he finished taping a bandage onto her head. “You’ll have to keep it bandaged for a couple days but your father should be able to help with that. And you most likely won’t scar.”
She breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks Dr. Cullen. I owe you one.”
He shook his head, breathing a laugh as he looked down at the girl’s chart. “Please, I’m happy to do it. And you can call me Carlisle.”
“Carlisle,” she repeated, nearly melting the vampire right there, “that’s an interesting name, never heard it.”
“Well my parents were a bit old fashioned,” he explained. “So your father tells me you finished your first year at Johns Hopkins? That’s very impressive.”
He admired her blush as she looked down at the ground. “Thanks. I think I was the only one of my graduating class to go out of state.”
“Yeah, I’ve figured out Forks is a very small town. Not many people leave,” he chuckled. “Do you know what you want to study?”
“Um I’ve always kind of wanted to be a surgeon. I know it’s the most difficult specialty but I enjoy the precision of it,” she shrugged.
Carlisle felt a sense of disappointment at the news that his mate wanted to be a surgeon. Being a doctor was hard enough as a vampire but having to literally cut people open? Even he didn’t think he’d be able to focus surrounded by so much blood. He was already dreading having to tell her that she couldn’t be a surgeon after she turned, not at least for decades while she learned control. He was suddenly snapped from his fantasies realizing that this human barely knew him and practically everything he knew about her came from his lurking outside her windows.
Dragging himself out of his thoughts which had no doubt created a long, awkward pause he spoke again. “Yes, well if you made it to Johns Hopkins then I’m sure you can do it.”
“Thanks Doc- Carlisle,” Y/N corrected before standing up off the table and heading for the door.
As she exited, taking most of her intoxicating scent with her, Carlisle sucked in a breath he didn’t need. As much as he hated watching his mate leave he needed a break from her blood. No one had tempted him the way Y/N L/N had, even when he was a starving newborn. And he realized that he would have to figure out a way to get close to her and get her to love him before he even told her about the mate bond. A difficult feat considering her father’s place as his colleague.
~
When Carlisle got home that evening he immediately went to his room, tipping off the family that something was different.
As he collapsed backwards onto his sofa he let his mind wander to his mate. He could picture her face so clearly, and more frighteningly he could still imagine the smell of her blood with eerie accuracy. He imagined all his future endeavors to keep her safe as a human. He’d watch over her, always be within reach to step in when she needed. He pictured their love story. It’d be slow and start with glances and fleeting touches until he invited her out to dinner once she became more comfortable with him. He’d kiss her goodnight on the porch and then make sure she got into the safety of her home before leaving. Their relationship would develop from there with more dates, with Y/N’s father’s approval of course. And when she uttered the words ‘I love you,’ he’d tell her about him and his species because he knew he had earned her love. And as much as he didn’t want to damn her to a life of hiding and being a monster, he couldn’t help but imagine her turning. He’d gently bite into the soft flesh of her throat, injecting his venom into her veins, cementing her as his forever. But the thought of hurting her and turning her into a monster made him hesitate.
As Carlisle continued to immerse himself in his fantasies, his sister entered. “Carlisle?” Esme called softly. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” he agreed, sitting up. He wasn’t sure whether or not to tell his family that he had met him mate, considering they were already dealing with the human mate to Edward, Bella, who they had just moved back to Forks for. Of course no secrets stayed secrets for long thanks to Edward and Alice’s gifts. Edward could be counted on for discretion but Alice’s overeager nature wouldn’t allow that. He was surprised that Alice hadn’t already planned a party but maybe she hadn’t seen his mate in her visions yet. He had also wanted to keep her his own little secret for a while but clearly that wouldn’t be happening so he relented. “I- uh met my true mate.”
Esme’s eyes widened as she gasped. Of course living in a house full of vampires everyone heard and immediately began rushing in.
“You met your mate!” Alice practically screamed, nearly knocking over Esme.
“What’s she like?” Emmett asked with a grin. “Or he?” he added hesitantly.
“It’s a she,” Carlisle confirmed. “It’s very new. She doesn’t even really know anything about me and everything I know about her comes from lurking outside her window,” he groaned in embarrassment.
“Well that worked with Bella,” Jasper laughed.
Edward shot his brother a glare before looking back at his adoptive father. “Just find an excuse to be around her, ask her on a date.”
“That’s the thing, she’s 19-”
“You’re physically 23,” Alice cut in.
“Her father is my coworker,” he elaborated. “Besides they think I’m 31 at the hospital. And she just finished her first year pre-med.”
“So you’ll see her around the hospital!” Alice insisted, still trying to convince her adoptive father that everything would be fine. “Suggest that she comes to the hospital more to observe or do an internship! Then you can get to know her and ask her on a date.”
“That’s not actually the worst plan,” Edward admitted.
Carlisle thought for a second. That could actually work, he’d just have to figure out how to bring it up to her and her father naturally.
“So what’s she like?” Rosalie asked suddenly.
If vampires could blush Carlisle would be bright red. “Well um she has H/L, (hair length) H/T, (type) H/C (color) hair. She actually looks a lot like her father, Dr. L/N. She goes to Johns Hopkins. Look can everyone just go back to what they were doing?”
“But we want to meet her,” Alice practically whined.
In his frustration with everything Carlisle blurted out, “You may not even get to meet her.”
That dampened the mood. “What?” Esme asked softly.
“Nothing is decided yet but she’s human. We’re already dealing with Bella, the Volturi are already keeping their eyes on us, and I don’t want to doom her to this life if I don’t have to.”
“But this is your mate,” Alice insisted. “You’ve been alone for 350 years!”
“He has a point,” Rosalie cut in. “We can’t afford to have another human know about us especially with the Volturi sniffing around us. And we shouldn’t be turning people unless they’re actively dying.”
“But she’s his true mate!” Alice maintained, practically stamping her foot on the ground. “He can’t just turn his back on her.”
“Look nothing is decided,” Carlisle tried to calm Alice down. “I have to be back at work in a few hours and I need to hunt so if you’d all please let me be.”
Everyone shuffled out of the room reluctantly except for Edward. “It will break your heart to let that girl go.”
Carlisle paused. He knew that, the idea of letting her go live her life and potentially fall in love with someone else broke his heart. “I know,” he admitted. “But the thought of having to hurt her and make her like this hurts just as much.”
“So love her for the duration of her mortal life.”
“Just to watch her age, live in pain, and die? I couldn’t handle that.”
“But you’re doing it for her,” Edward pointed out.
“But if I’m doing it for her shouldn’t I just let her go live a normal life?”
Edward shrugged. “I don’t know the right answer here just that no matter what you choose it’ll kill you in some way. That’s the unfortunate truth about loving a human.”
~
A few weeks went by and Y/N became a routine part of Carlisle’s day. He’d usually see her at the hospital, working as a secretary. (A job she acquired even without Carlisle’s suggestion.) Because of that he had gained a reputation for hanging around the nurses station, flirting with Y/N. Not only did he learn about her through actually talking to her, he would make frequent trips to her house to watch her through the windows, even occasionally going into her room, which he felt wrong about but being surrounded by her scent dismissed any doubt from his mind.
“Y/N,” he greeted like he did every morning, bringing her a coffee.
“You must be spending a fortune on coffee,” she commented, taking the cup. She had protested several times, insisting that she pay him back but he refused every time so she just began to accept it.
“It’s nothing,” he dismissed. “But if it was it’d be worth it,” he flirted, earning a blush from the girl. Carlisle had learned a lot about flirting in these few weeks. At first it was a bit clumsy but he picked it up fairly easily with a little coaching from Rosalie and Emmett.
“Yeah well you won’t have to spend like $4.50 everyday for much longer, one of my professors is starting a research project a month before the semester begins and he invited me as a fellow,” she explained, a glimmer of disappointment behind her bright, casual expression.
If Carlisle’s heart wasn’t already frozen it would’ve stopped beating. He tried his best to hide his shock and disappointment. “Oh, well congratulations. Getting invited to stuff like this is really good for med school applications.”
“Yeah, and I like being here but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, y’know? Plus it’ll be nice to see the sun again,” she awkwardly laughed, sensing the doctor’s unease.
“Yeah, um well I have to go get some labs. Congratulations, I’ll see you around,” he rushed out with a forced smile. He didn’t stay long enough to hear her response, rushing out of the room as fast as possible without being suspicious.
He couldn’t think straight. He of course had thought about her just leaving but now that it was actually happening, as well as happening sooner than expected, he didn’t know how to deal with it.
~
Carlisle had no clue what to do when it came to his mate leaving. He couldn’t stop her, that wasn’t fair to Y/N, so instead he kept his distance. Which was easy considering that he could smell her from a mile away. Until one day at the hospital when the scent of her blood was particularly strong.
“19 year old female, car crash. Resuscitated once in the field, three times en route,” the panicked voice of the paramedic echoed through Carlisle’s sensitive ears. He rushed into the ER, spotting her through the window of the trauma room. He mostly recognized her through her scent but would know that H/T, H/C hair and S/T skin through purple and blue bruises from a million miles away. But the next words from her attending doctor only confirmed the worst. “Page Dr. L/N, it’s Y/N!”
It felt like Carlisle had been sucker punched in the gut. It took everything in him not to stagger back and let out a dry sob right there in the ER. When her heart monitor flatlined he wanted to slaughter every person in that room in his grief. It was ridiculous, 350 years of self control would be gone just because of a girl. But not just any girl, his girl.
When they finally got Y/N’s heartbeat back they wheeled her up to surgery, just as Dr. L/N entered the ER. “Where’s Y/N? Where’s my daughter?” he demanded, trying to launch himself at the ER desk.
“D/N, D/N,” Carlisle tried to calm the distraught father. He had to physically hold the man back with vampire strength. Fortunately the ER was too chaotic for anyone to notice. “They took her up to surgery, she’ll be fine.”
“Surgery? Oh god,” the man began to cry. “But that’s my baby, she’s all I have.” With those words Carlisle began to feel guilty. Just a few weeks ago a part of him had been so ready to basically just kidnap this poor man’s daughter and completely shatter his world without a thought. “Oh god, surgery here is a death sentence.”
Carlisle began to protest before really thinking about it. Forks Hospital was small, their surgical staff consisted of two surgeons and whatever nurses that had completed the surgical nurse program. No one came her for surgery, they all went to Port Angeles and their non-emergent traumas went there too. The only people who came here were on the brink of death and unfortunately the two surgeons here weren’t exactly outstanding in their field. They were good enough but nothing remarkable and they usually lost their patients due to the circumstances.
~
Carlisle tried to carry on his day as if the love of his life wasn’t dying in a surgical suite right now. But the ordinarily smooth, confident doctor was distracted and constantly messing up. Until finally his shift was over and he went up to his mate’s room. He had orchestrated the nurses’ charts so she’d be placed in a secluded room should Carlisle need to intervene to prolong her life.
When he entered the room he was met with the most heartbreaking sight. Y/N was laid on the bed, an intubation tube sticking out of her throat. Her entire face was black and blue, some bones in her face looked like they had been broken. She hardly looked recognizable. On the only chair in the room sat her father looking like a worried mess. “Oh, hey Carlisle,” Dr. L/N said dejectedly.
“I’m so sorry, D/N.”
The man shrugged. “She’s tough. She managed to claw her way out of this place. She’ll survive this.”
“I hope so,” Carlisle agreed, staring longingly at his mate.
He didn’t want to arouse too much suspicion from Y/N’s father so he reluctantly went home to change and hunt.
After his quick hunt he re-entered his home finding Alice. “Carlisle, I’m so sorry,” she said softly. He wasn’t sure what to say to that but fortunately he didn’t have to come up with anything because she spoke again. “But you have to stay with her at the hospital if you want any shot at survival.” By now Edward had joined them.
“What?” Carlisle asked.
“She won’t survive this. You’re a doctor, you have to know that. So you’ll have to change her.”
Carlisle would be lying if he said he hadn’t thought of the scenario where Y/N was severely injured and he needed to change her. He looked up at his oldest son. “There’s nothing wrong about saving her life if she’s already dying.”
Not wanting to waste another second Carlisle sped off. He almost ran to the hospital but realized at the last second he should take the car. So he floored it, doing 150mph practically the whole way there. And finally parking in the back so he’d be able to bring her home unseen.
When he got to the hospital his ears were bombarded with thousands of sounds, something he was now used to, but because of his experience he was able to tune into his mate’s heart monitor while he got his plan ready.
Heading to the morgue he found a body that was a similar build and coloring to Y/N. Carlisle was by no means squeamish but it felt weird to break her bones and watch bruises form over her skin until her face was unrecognizable. He then scraped up as many ashes as possible to make it look like someone had cremated her so no one would go looking for her body. Setting the body aside he headed back upstairs finding Dr. L/N slumped over in a chair.
Carlisle hesitantly shook the older man awake. “Hey,” he said softly, willing the man to take his suggestion. “You should go home and rest. Get changed. I’ll watch over her.” The man hesitated, still staring at his fragile daughter. “She'll be fine, I’ll call you if anything happens.”
He reluctantly agreed before heading out, making Carlisle promise to call him even if her heart rate changed by two points.
Carlisle sat for a while, waiting for the hospital to calm down a bit before enacting his plan. First he went to the nurses station while no one was there, turning off the monitors that connected to his mate’s room. He then went back downstairs, using his hearing and sense of smell to bring the body up without being detected. Finally it was time to turn his mate. He stood over her bedside, observing her mortality for the final time. Through the black and blue of her face he admired her beauty, reminiscing the unique, flawed beauty of mortals.
This would be the most difficult transformation of his life. He was more nervous than when he had turned his sister who was his first turn. Y/N’s blood smelled so sweet he wasn’t sure he’d be able to pull away. He took a deep breath through his mouth before lowering his head to her throat, biting quickly. It took everything in him to pull away. He had never killed a human but he had tasted blood when he turned them and Y/N’s was like nothing he had ever tasted before. He knew he had to hold on long enough for the venom to inject into her bloodstream which made it even harder to pull away but he did it.
When he pulled back he could see blood seeping from her puncture wounds telling him he didn’t kill her. He quickly began disconnecting her from the machines before the venom could wreak havoc on her system. He then swapped her body for the one from the morgue, connecting the machines once again. Running down to the car he placed her unconscious figure in the backseat before going upstairs to reconnect the nurses station, alerting them that Y/N L/N was dying.
But by the time they reached her room with a crash cart Carlisle was already escaping with his prize in the back seat.
~
It took three agonizing days for Y/N’s transformation. Carlisle spent every moment he could at her side. He had to go to the hospital in order to not arouse suspicion where he unfortunately had to deal with her grieving father. He had called him on the way home to tell that he had gone to the bathroom and when he got back she was coding. But it didn’t seem to make anything easier for Dr. L/N as the man tried to tackle Carlisle when he walked into work. Fortunately for his secret a nurse stopped him. “You left her!” he screamed. “I lost my baby. I didn’t get to say goodbye because of you!”
At first Carlisle had been elated to finally have his mate (among other conflicting feelings) but now he was confronting the grief he had created. He realized that even if she was going to die anyway, if he hadn’t intervened her father would’ve gotten to say his final goodbye.
Meanwhile at home Y/N was laid on the soft couch in his room. She had spent the first two days sleeping fairly peacefully to the point that Carlisle was afraid he had killed her but her slowing heartbeat was assurance that she was okay. The third day was the hardest, he learned from Jasper that he could feel her pain. He was at work when the pain started and Alice had called him since she would be awake soon and Carlisle had wanted to be the one with her when she woke up.
Carlisle had been sitting by her side for a few hours, admiring her now clear skin, pure from all the bruises and broken bones she had received. In his own cold, stone hand, he now felt the same in her hand, all the warmth having been drained from it now as he played with her fingers adoringly.
~
Even before I opened my eyes I could hear so clearly. I could hear the rustle of clothing, the sound of skin rubbing skin as I realized a cold hand was playing with my fingers. As I became more aware I realized that my throat felt so dry it felt like it was burning.
Peeling my eyes open I was met with what seemed like the brightest object in the universe. I was half convinced I was staring directly into the sun except I could heat the hum of electric lighting.
“Is it too bright?” a voice— Carlisle’s voice asked.
Turning my head I met his warm, golden expression. When I nodded in agreement he ran towards the switch faster than I had ever seen anything move. Weird, but maybe I was just really groggy, but strangely I didn’t feel groggy, I felt more alive than I ever had.
Carlisle’s face reappeared in my field of vision, I could now more clearly see the flawlessness of his skin and the flecks of gold in his irises. Unbeknownst to me he was was also now observing the smoothness of my skin and the deep red hue of my eyes. Something about him felt safe and warm, like I never wanted to leave his side again. “Carlisle?” was all I could think of to say.
His adoring smile widened when I said his name. “Hey, Y/N. How are you feeling?”
“Good…” I answered hesitantly. I felt better than I ever had but his question made me think I shouldn’t feel good.
“That’s good. The transformation can be rougher for some people,” he explained, pulling away slightly to allow me room to sit up.
As I pushed myself up I moved so fast the couch slid to the side. My eyes widened, realizing what happened. “What’s going on? What transformation?”
He took my hands in his, now kneeling on the ground in front of me. “This is going to be strange and you won’t believe me but bear with me, okay?” he asked, looking up at me. One look in his eyes and I was melting so I just nodded, allowing him to explain. “I’m… a vampire. And I made you one too.” Laughs began to wrack my body, this had to be a joke. But one look at the grave sincerity on his face told me he wasn’t joking. “It’s true. It’s why when you sat up the couch moved. Why you’re probably really overwhelmed with all the sound, smells, lights, and feelings. Vampires are the most dangerous predators. We have better senses, are faster, and stronger than anything else.” Seeing my lost expression he rushed out the next words. “I know it’s a lot and I’m sorry I did this to you.”
“Why did you do this to me?”
“How much do you remember?”
“The last thing I remember is driv-” I suddenly realized what must’ve happened. “I was in an accident wasn’t I?”
Carlisle nodded his head regretfully. “You weren’t going to make it. That’s why I turned you. I didn’t want to do it. I was going to let you live your life as a human whether that be with me or with someone else but I couldn’t just let you die.”
“So what? You just turn every dying patient in the hospital?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around his words.
He shook his head no. “You’re the first I’ve turned in nearly 70 years. I couldn’t let you die because… well you see-” Carlisle was struggling with the best word choice to keep from scaring his mate off. “We’re mates… I knew the instant I saw you. Humans can’t feel it as strongly and it’s rare to meet your true mate but that’s what we are.” I didn’t know how to react, I didn’t even know exactly what I was feeling. “You don’t have to stay, you certainly don’t have to accept our bond but I thought you should know about it. Before you got hurt I was planning to hopefully be worthy of your love the old-fashioned way but given the circumstances…”
Before I could say anything the door swung open, revealing three more vampires. One had blonde curls, another with a brunette, short pixie, and the third had caramel hair and had a strong resemblance to Carlisle. “Hi, I’m Alice!” the bubbly brunette introduced.
“Um, girls-” Carlisle attempted to dismiss them so as to not overwhelm his mate.
“She’s probably thirsty,” the blonde insisted. Everyone looked over at me expectantly. Remembering the burning in my throat I nodded. Alice approached, opening a cup allowing the most appetizing scent to permeate through the air. I took it eagerly, frowning when I looked into the cup to find a thick, red liquid. Blood.
“It takes a bit of getting used to,” the caramel-haired one empathized.
“Trust me, you’ll like it,” Alice encouraged.
I gingerly brought it to my lips. The more I could smell it the thirstier I got so I downed the drink. The second the blood touched my lips I couldn’t get enough as I began to down the drink. Once it was all gone Carlisle gently brought the cup from my hands. “C’mon, you should meet the others,” he said, gently taking my hand in his. He led me out of his room, the three women following us into what looked like a very modern living room where there were three men waiting for us. “Y/N, these are my adoptive kids,” Carlisle explained as the blonde and Alice went to stand with their… brothers? “That’s Alice and Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie,” he pointed out the couples, “Edward, and my sister, Esme.”
~
The Cullen clan welcomed Y/N with open arms, including Bella when she eventually met the new vampire. It took a day or two of warming up but soon enough Carlisle and Y/N began to behave just like other mates. They were constantly together, and the rest of the Cullen clan were happy to finally see Carlisle so happy with his mate after 350 years.

Where the Sun Don't Shine (Carlisle Cullen X Vampire!Wife!Reader)

Request Something!
Summary: Having a very rare day off of work, Carlisle wants to spend the day with his wife.
***
It was a rare occurrence, Dr. Carlisle Cullen not having to work at the hospital. Usually when it was suggested, Carlisle would refuse to take a break, saying that he didn’t need it as much as anyone else on the staff. Which was true, considering that he didn’t need to sleep and hadn’t done so in centuries.
But sometimes, even a vampire deserved a break.
“It’s strange to see you in the house this late.” You said as you spotted your husband standing in the kitchen, staring out the window. The kids, though they were far from being kids, were in school. Usually, you had the house to yourself. Carlisle had insisted on that. When you got married about a hundred years ago, he didn’t want you to lift a finger. He made you feel like a queen, your palace being a house surrounded by greenery and away from any wondering eyes. “Not that I’m complaining.”
Carlisle smiled as you wrapped your arms around him from behind, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. He turned, locking his golden eyes with yours.
“I know it’s my day off, but I want to do something.” He said, leaning down just enough to kiss you. “It looks rather nice out, don’t you think?”
You looked out the window. The sky was dim, and the trees were wet; it looked like it had just finished raining.
“How about a picnic?”
***
If anyone in Forks saw you and your husband lounging on the wet grass, a blanket being the only thing to keep your clothes from getting damp, they would’ve thought you were crazy. Today was no day for a sane person to have a picnic and lay about, not with the chilly air and cloudy sky.
But for you and Carlisle, it was absolutely perfect.
The two of you leaned against each other, watching the leaves flutter in the breeze and little critters scurry about the woods surrounding your backyard.
“Cheers, darling.” Carlisle held up his wine glass, waiting for you to do the same. To anyone else, you were drinking red wine. But the two of you knew better.
“Cheers, love.” You responded, clinking your glass against his and taking a sip. You sighed in delight, you hadn’t fed in a couple of days. When you set your glass down, you noticed that Carlisle had a touch of red on his upper lip. You giggled as you cleaned it up, licking the blood off of the pad of your thumb. “I like it when you have a day off.”
“I do, too.” Carlisle sighed as he laid back on the ground, staring up at the gloomy sky. You moved to his side, partially lying on top of him. As if it was instinct, his hand latched onto your waist to keep you close to him.
“The kids won’t be home for a few more hours.” You say softly, tracing the edge of his jaw with your finger. “Is there anything else you want to do today, Mr. Cullen?”
He looked at you, hunger evident in his eyes.
“I can think of a few things, Mrs. Cullen.” He replied before kissing you, guiding you to roll onto his back while he settled on top of you.
Maybe Carlisle should take breaks more often.

Carlisle x Teen!reader - my family
Tumblr media
Hey could you do one with the Cullens and a female teen reader, like maybe they save her from other vampires that are hunting in the area, but then she’s scared of them because she knows their secret, and they’re like reassuring her that they’d never hurt her, and maybe adopt her? With some emphasis on Carlisle because he’s like the sweetest dad 😅. Thanks! 💜 - @marvelfanfn2187a113 💜
You had no idea what happened, one moment you were walking home from your part time job, and the next moment you were screaming and in pain from being slammed against a building.
“Oh you humans are so annoying when you scream.” The man scoffed.
His red eyes pierced yours, and he crouched down in front of you, gripping your wrist tightly in his hand and no matter how hard you tried you couldn’t pull it away.
Before he could hurt you, he was thrown away, and a woman was helping you stand up.
“Come on, quickly now.” She said softly.
She ushered you towards her car and put you inside and she got in the drivers side.
“What about them?” You asked.
“They’ll be alright don’t worry.” She smiled.
You nodded your head, you were dazed, and in the pain you didn’t really think about not getting in a car with a stranger.
But your vision was fuzzy, and you head was pounding, and before you knew it you had fallen unconscious.
When you came too, the pain in your head wasn’t as bad it was before, but it still hurt.
“Hey, you’re awake. How’re you feeling?”
You furrowed your brows a little and sat up, rubbing your head, and your fingers brushed against some stitches and you stopped.
“You only need a couple, it’ll be healed in no time don’t worry.”
You looked at the voice and your confusion grew.
“Dr Cullen?”
You looked around.
“Where am I?”
“My house, my wife brought you here when you passed out in her car. Do you remember anything of what happened?” He asked.
You thought for a few minutes before slowly nodding your head.
“All of it.. he… red eyes… he was so fast… and strong..”
Carlisle sighed heavily, looking back at his family who were standing behind him waiting to hear what was going to be said.
“We should probably have a talk.” He said softly.
He didn’t want to, but at this point he had no choice but to explain everything to you, you already knew too much.
And while he was explaining everything you slowly stood up, backing away from them, tripping over something.
Esme acted quickly and without thinking, she was behind you in a second and you pulled away.
“Don’t touch me!”
“Okay. Okay I’m sorry.”
She backed away and Carlisle stood up, holding his hands up as he slowly moved around the couch.
“We’re not going to hurt you.” He spoke gently.
“You’re vampires… you hurt people…”
“No, no, we only feed in animals. I promise, it’s why we have different eyes.” He explained.
You still hesitant, and he understood it.
If he was in your shoes he’d be terrified as well.
“We wouldn’t hurt you (Y/N), you trust us right? We always hang out at school.” Alice smiled.
You turned to look at the Cullen children, and you stared at them all.
She was right, you were usually with her or Emmett during school, they were your two best friends and they had never hurt you.
They had always made sure you got home safe, got you food if you were hungry, helped you with homework and things you didn’t quite understand.
They were your best friends.
But they were vampires.
And you were conflicted.
“We haven’t hurt you before have we?” Emmett asked.
You shook your head and he grinned a little bit.
“So, you can trust us now right?”
“You’re vampires… oh god there’s vampires in my apartment building… I thought they were wearing contacts…”
“What?” Rosalie asked.
You looked at her with wide eyes.
“A few people moved into the apartment building… there was a few empty apartments and they were rented out… I thought it was just party people… contacts…”
“(Y/N) is there anyone else in your apartment? Parents?” Carlisle asked.
“No… it’s just me…”
He quickly nodded his head, and he walked over, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“We can’t do anything about it yet, it’s too dangerous. You can stay here for now, okay?”
You looked up at him and slowly nodded your head.
You wanted to go home, but you felt safer there then you did in your apartment complex now.
So they set you up in Alice’s room, they got you a bed and anything else you might need, and you stayed with them.
At first, you stayed away, but soon you grew to accept them, and got used to them.
They were working on a way to safely and quietly get rid of the other vampires, and you had all your stuff moved into the Cullens home.
You basically lived there now.
Sitting in the kitchen, you watched as Carlisle made you some lunch.
“You can cook really well for someone who can’t eat it.”
He chuckled a little and looked at you.
“Have to blend in somehow.”
“True. That’s very true.”
You looked at your homework, finishing off the questions.
“Mr Cullen?”
“You can call me Carlisle you know.”
“I know. It’s weird though, but… I want thank you for looking after me…”
Carlisle stopped what he was doing and walked over, resting his arms on the counter and he took your pen so you looked up at him.
He smiled softly at you.
“You don’t have to thank me, if anything I should be thanking you for taking our secret and accepting us for it. I know they would be devastated if they lost you as a friend, especially Alice and Emmett. Do you mind if I ask you one thing?”
You shook your head.
“Why do you live alone (Y/N)?”
You sighed a little.
“My uh.. my parents passed away a few years back… I’ve been working since I turned 16 and moved out of the care home to live on my own…”
He nodded a little.
“You must be exhausted.”
You shrugged a little.
“Got to work for what we want in life.”
He hummed a little and got up to finish making your lunch and he set it in front of you, moving your homework out of the way.
“You can stay here if you’d like.”
“As in live here?”
Carlisle nodded as he washed up.
“We’ve got the room, we can clear one of the other rooms into a bedroom just for you.”
“I can’t do that, it’s okay. I suppose I don’t mind living on my own.”
“You wouldn’t have to work, you’d just have to attend school that’s all, plus I know everyone loves having you around.”
“I dunno…”
Carlisle chuckled a little.
“Just think about it, alright?”
“Okay.”
So you did, you thought about it for a few days and finally you agreed, and you got your own room.
They became your family, and you finally had time to relax and rest after nearly a year of working nonstop.
Months passed, and you were cooking yourself something to eat for dinner when everyone came filing into the room.
“It’s weird you guys watching me cook.”
Everyone laughed a little.
“We’ve actually got something for you.” Esme said.
You turned around and walked over.
“For me?”
You looked at the vampires all grinning from ear to ear, and Carlisle handed you some papers and you carefully read them.
“You.. want to adopt me..?”
“We do. You’ve become part of the family, you’re our daughter now.” Esme smiled.
“You don’t have to become a vampire if you don’t want to.” Jasper said.
You glanced at him then back to Esme and Carlisle.
“This is all your choice, but the offer stands no matter how long you want to think about it.”
“Yes.”
You set the papers in the table.
“I want you to adopt me.”
He smiled brightly and hugged you, and everyone joined for a group hug and you smiled brightly.
This was your family, and they would forever be your family no matter what

MASTERLIST #2
Navigation!
Let me know if there are any characters you’d like added and I’ll look into it! :)
Smut = **
What I will NOT write for under any circumstance: R@pe, incest, anything to do with pee or poo, hardcore bdsm or anything like that type of smut, kidnapping reader for love, anything stalker, abuse unless it’s for angst but I won’t go into detail about the abuse (though I will do like slapping/spanking for smut it cannot have malicious meaning behind it, and there is always consent for that)
Also let me put this by itself, pregnancy is also way off the table. It’s 6 feet underground. I understand it’s part of life and it’s beautiful , and that’s for people to decide but personally I find just the concept of that horrifying and gross. I do breeding kink yes, but no description of pregnancy. (No hate to pregnant people I just can’t stand the concept of pregnancy in any form.)

(Y/N) had always struggled with her weight. It seemed like an endless battle she couldn't win, no matter how hard she tried. She had always been on the underweight side, her slender frame a source of both frustration and concern. Her friends would envy her seemingly effortless ability to eat without gaining, but they didn't see the other side of the coin - the constant anxiety, the unhealthy habits, and the feeling of helplessness that came with it.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the small town of Forks, (Y/N) couldn't ignore the nagging feeling in her stomach any longer. She knew she needed help, but admitting it to herself was a struggle in its own right. She'd spent years keeping this hidden from everyone, even her family.
Gathering her courage, she decided it was time to seek professional advice. With a heavy heart and trembling hands, she dialed the number for the local hospital and scheduled an appointment. It was a step into the unknown, but she couldn't continue like this.
The following week, (Y/N) found herself sitting in the sterile waiting room of the Forks Hospital, her anxiety building with each passing second. Her heart raced, and she clutched her purse tightly, feeling more vulnerable than ever.
"Ms. (Y/L/N)?" a soft voice called from the doorway. Startled, she looked up to see a kind, blond-haired man in a white lab coat. "I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Please, come with me."
Carlisle's warm smile immediately put (Y/N) at ease. She followed him down a long corridor to an examination room, where he motioned for her to take a seat on the examination table.
"Tell me, (Y/N), what brings you here today?" Carlisle asked, his blue eyes filled with genuine concern.
(Y/N) hesitated for a moment, but the pain and frustration she had carried for so long finally spilled out. She confessed her struggles with maintaining a healthy weight, the constant fear of gaining, and the cycle of binging and purging that had dominated her life. Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke, and Carlisle listened attentively, never once judging her.
After a thoughtful pause, Carlisle said, "Thank you for sharing this with me, (Y/N). It's essential that you've taken this step to seek help. I'm here to support you in your journey to a healthier life. First, I'd like to run some tests to assess your overall health, and then we can discuss a plan to help you gain weight in a safe and sustainable way."
Relief washed over (Y/N) as she realized that she had found someone who understood her struggle and was willing to help. She nodded, her gratitude shining through her teary eyes.
Carlisle smiled reassuringly. "We'll take this one step at a time, (Y/N). I promise you won't be alone in this. Let's schedule another appointment after your tests, and by then, I should have a personalized meal plan tailored to your needs."
As (Y/N) left the hospital that day, she felt a glimmer of hope she hadn't felt in years. With Dr. Carlisle Cullen's guidance, she was ready to embark on a new journey toward a healthier and happier life, leaving her old burdens behind and embracing the promise of a brighter future.
As Carlisle stepped through the door of their stately home in Forks, the warm embrace of familiarity enveloped him. Esme, his beloved wife, was there to greet him as she always was. Her golden eyes sparkled with affection as she looked at him.
"Look at you, my hard at work doctor," Esme purred, her arms encircling Carlisle as she pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
Carlisle returned the kiss, savoring the tenderness of their connection. "Work was challenging, but fulfilling, my dear," he replied, his fingers gently caressing her cheek.
Esme's curiosity was piqued. She always enjoyed hearing about Carlisle's day, knowing how dedicated he was to his profession. "Tell me, love, how was work today?"
Carlisle smiled and led Esme to the cozy living room, where they settled on the plush couch. He began recounting his day, sharing the various cases and medical challenges he had encountered at the hospital.
"And then," Carlisle continued, "I met a young woman who's been struggling with being underweight for most of her life. She came seeking help to gain weight in a healthy way."
Esme's interest was instantly piqued. She had always been a nurturing soul, and the idea of helping someone regain their health struck a chord with her. "That sounds like a noble cause," she mused. "Do you have a plan in mind for her?"
Carlisle nodded. "I'll be in my office working on a personalized meal plan for her. It's essential that we help her find a balance and improve her overall well-being."
Esme's eyes sparkled with eagerness. She knew how much Carlisle enjoyed his work, but she also knew how much he valued her assistance in certain matters. "May I be of help, my love?"
Carlisle's gaze softened as he looked at his beautiful wife. He knew how much joy she found in the art of cooking, and her expertise in the kitchen was unparalleled. "Perhaps you can, my love," he said with a gentle smile. "Your culinary skills might be just what she needs to make this journey more enjoyable and successful."
Esme's heart swelled with affection for her husband. She knew that together, they could make a real difference in this young woman's life. "Then let's work together to create a meal plan that will not only nourish her body but also warm her heart."
As the evening unfolded, Carlisle and Esme sat side by side in his office, poring over nutrition guidelines and designing a meal plan that would be both effective and delicious. In their united efforts, they found a deeper connection and a shared sense of purpose, ready to help their new patient on the path to a healthier and happier life.
The next day, as the sun cast its soft morning rays over Forks, Carlisle was filled with a renewed sense of purpose as he prepared for his appointment with (Y/N). He had spent the previous evening with Esme, meticulously crafting a meal plan that would address (Y/N)'s nutritional needs and gradually help her gain the weight she so desperately sought.
As he entered the hospital's examination room, he found (Y/N) sitting there, a mix of apprehension and hope in her eyes. He couldn't help but smile warmly as he greeted her. "Good morning, (Y/N). I hope you're feeling well today."
(Y/N) offered a small but genuine smile in return. "Good morning, Dr. Cullen. Thank you for seeing me again."
Carlisle took a seat across from her, his expression reassuring. "Of course, (Y/N). I've taken some time to put together a meal plan that I believe will help you achieve your goals in a healthy and sustainable way." He slid a neatly printed sheet of paper across the table toward her.
(Y/N) eagerly picked up the meal plan, her eyes scanning the contents. It was clear that Carlisle had put a lot of thought and care into it. Her apprehension began to melt away as she saw the balanced meals and the variety of foods.
"I should mention," Carlisle said with a warm smile, "that my wife, Esme, helped me create this meal plan. She's an exceptional cook and has a real knack for making nutritious food taste delicious. We thought her expertise might make this journey a bit more enjoyable for you."
(Y/N)'s eyes lit up with gratitude. "That's so kind of both of you, Dr. Cullen. Please thank your wife for me. I truly appreciate all the help."
Carlisle nodded, pleased to see (Y/N) looking hopeful. "You're very welcome, (Y/N). Remember, you're not alone in this. We're here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out."
As (Y/N) left the hospital that day, clutching the meal plan in her hand, she felt a newfound sense of optimism. With the guidance of Dr. Carlisle Cullen and the support of his caring wife, Esme, she believed that she could finally overcome the weight struggles that had haunted her for so long. It was a small but significant step on her journey to a healthier and happier life, and for the first time in a long while, (Y/N) had hope.
It had been a month since (Y/N) had started following the meal plan that Dr. Carlisle Cullen and his wife, Esme, had designed for her. In that short time, she had begun to notice changes in her body. Her clothes fit a little snugger, her energy levels were up, and most importantly, she felt less self-conscious about her weight. It was a promising start to her journey toward a healthier self.
On a sunny afternoon, (Y/N) found herself at the local supermarket, browsing the aisles for the ingredients on her meal plan. She was lost in thought, comparing brands of whole-grain pasta when a familiar voice called out her name.
"(Y/N)?"
Startled, (Y/N) turned around to see a friendly woman with caramel-colored hair smiling at her. She was taken aback, not recognizing the person who had addressed her. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" she asked politely.
The woman's smile widened, and her golden eyes sparkled with recognition. "I'm Esme, Doctor Carlilse’s wife," she introduced herself.
It all clicked into place for (Y/N). The face before her was one she had seen in a photograph during her appointment with Dr. Cullen. She had to admit that Esme was even more radiant in person. "Oh, of course! You're Esme," she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with realization.
Esme's warm laughter filled the supermarket aisle. "Yes, that's me. It's wonderful to see you outside of the hospital, (Y/N). How have you been?"
"(Y/N)" couldn't help but smile. She was genuinely touched by the chance encounter. "I've been doing better, thanks to the meal plan you and Dr. Cullen created for me. I've put on some weight, and I'm starting to feel more confident."
Esme's eyes shone with happiness. "I'm so glad to hear that! You're making wonderful progress. It's a pleasure to see you thriving."
(Y/N) felt a sense of warmth and connection with Esme. She had always been grateful for the support of Dr. Cullen, but now, meeting his wife in such a casual setting, she realized that she was part of a caring and compassionate team that genuinely cared about her well-being.
As they continued shopping together, Esme offered tips on selecting the freshest produce and shared some of her favorite recipes for healthy meals. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, as if they had known each other for much longer than this chance meeting.
By the time they parted ways in the supermarket parking lot, (Y/N) felt a deep sense of gratitude. She had not only gained weight but also found new friends and support in Dr. Carlisle Cullen and his wonderful wife, Esme. This unexpected encounter was a reminder that sometimes, life had a way of bringing people together just when they needed it most.

Masterlist | The Cullens Series
Tumblr media
Summary: Vincent Black Rothschild was born on June 15th, 1989 to a wonderful family. They were not only well-off but also kind and generous. Vincent grew up with plenty of love. As Vincent grew each day so did the roughness in which he played, this resulted in plenty of hospital visits. This was how the family eventually became acquainted with Dr. Carlisle Cullen. In 1997 only a year after meeting Carlisle a group of newborn vampires terrorized the Rothschild home, luckily enough Alice had a vision; though this did not save Vincent B. Rothschilds' parents it did save him. In the end Carlisle being a compassionate man he is, he decided he would not leave the child in the hands of a foster system, this resulted with him adopting the child to become one of his own. The other members in the coven did not agree with this and told him it was dangerous, warning him of the possible outcomes. Instead of agreeing with his coven family he headed their warnings and invited the child with open arms; Esme soon followed.

Currently working on, what I think, is going to be my longest one-shot that I have made. It's a Cod fantasy AU, with Alex Keller as the love interest.
Let me tell you that I am SO SO SO in love with it currently and it's probably going to, by far, my favourite one-shot publish.
Also, to the Carlisle Cullen request, don't you worry I am working on it, but I am incapable on working on a single thing at the same time, so I am working on that one-shot and also this CoD one as well :)
The Carlisle Cullen one is probably going to be long as heck as well, just like this Alex Keller one, so mostly older drafts will be publish before either of these two one-shots gets released.
Either way, Alex Keller x Reader Fantasy AU is going to be a banger and super bloody long.
Carlisle Cullen one is also going to be long as hell and (hopefully) fights to compete with the Alex Keller one as being the most fun to write

I wasn't planning on a pt.2 but...
Decision Making P.2
Edward Cullen x reader
Summary: You and Edward reach a middle ground about everything
Warnings: swearing, ANGST but it's resolved

Tumblr media
You also never quite fully moved on. How could you? Your heart had been ripped from your chest and trampled over like it never had value.
He can't say that he hasn't felt the same. The feelings that he had that still longed for you were easier to ignore before you returned. But now you're back. Everything that he had buried was now brought back.
When Bella fell into a deep enough sleep that she wouldn't notice his absence, he went out to search for you. Edward had nothing prepared to say. However, he knew that things could only worsen if he left things where they were.
You sent he had pinned to memory. He used that memory to track you down to the river.
"You know... I wanted to jump in," you began. "But I didn't. I couldn't."
"You wanted me to find you?" Edward asked.
"I wanted my old love to come to me. But I understand that he is no longer with us," you responded. You still haven't met his gaze.
"I would like to apologize."
"An apology without the action of change is just words. You'll waste your eternity."
"I'm well aware I am undeserving of your forgiveness. But please, let the guilty have their last words," he pleaded.
You stood up from the river bank. You matched his gaze and explained, "You were my first everything. I gave you everything I could. Even my mortality, Edward." You slowly approached him and continued, "When they sent me your obituary in the mail, you know what I did? I went to your parents' house. They were distraught, and I consoled them in the best way I could. " You stood before him, "I gave you the last rose in your coffin."
"When I heard about a 'Dr. Carlisle Cullen' when I left my last coven, it began my spark of hope. I really didn't mean to impede on your new life. And to think that I could just reappear after all this time -"
"I searched for you too."
"I'm sorry?"
"I would have come to see you had I been stable enough. But you know how newborns are. Carlisle barely let me out of his sight. I had a moment when I left his side and spent a lot of time trying to find you. But all I could recover were old missing posters. It crushed me deeply. I gave up my search for you and began to hunt down your capture. I went through New York, killing those that would hurt someone in any way. I thought I was doing you justice. But then I joined Carlisle's vegetarianism."
"Yeah, to be honest, that was mean," you said, breaking that serious energy surrounding you both.
I moved to stand beside Edward. "I- I think that moving on from you is... okay," you said softly.
"I apologize for how I treated you those years ago. After everything you've done... and I treated you like a stranger."
You both chuckled and continued to stare at the water. You faced him with a smile. "One last hug, before I go." He accepted, and he gave you one last strong squeeze.
"You don't have to go," he clarified.
"I just escaped my coven, I need room to breathe for now."
"Be safe, Y/n"
"You too, Edward." You ran into the river, covering your scent.

The Baby

Carlisle Cullen x reader

SUMMARY: one of Dr Cullen’s patients is the daughter of someone more familiar than he realises…

A/N: hello lovely anon! I am so terribly sorry that this took so long, but thanks very much for your request! Hope you enjoy :)

(By the way Y/C/N means your child’s name and they/them pronouns are used for your child)
Tumblr media

You had to take Y/C/N to the doctor’s today for a check-up, as you gave your nanny, Sam, the day off. She’s been working so hard recently.

It was a Dr Cullen they would be seeing, as they normally did. The name did ring a bell somewhere, but you just couldn’t think of where from. You took Y/C/N in the car, and they were quiet all the way. Luckily. They had a dreadful tendency to be car sick a lot of the time, so you were glad they were calm today. Sam always told you that Y/C/N loved Dr Cullen, and always laughed away whenever they had an appointment with him. Finally pulling into the hospital car park, you parked and got yourself and Y/C/N out of the car. You had no trouble at reception; all the nurses knew Y/C/N too, and cooed at them as they laughed away. You smiled.

Eventually, you were called into the doctor’s office. Suddenly, you realised why the name had sounded so familiar. There, sitting at his desk was Carlisle Cullen, the man who you had once had a fling with, a few years ago. You had almost completely forgotten about it, but immediately chastised yourself for doing so. How could you ever forget him? He was such a gentleman, and looked absolutely dashing that night you first met.
‘Carlisle?’ you asked quietly.
‘Y/N?’ he replied, looking at you inquisitively.
You just looked at each other, neither of you daring to speak first, hearing only Y/C/N’s quiet babbling. You looked away, blushing. He gave you a gentle smile and bade you sit down. You did, and he began to ask you about how Y/C/N had been. They had been fine, and you told him so. He took them to the table to examine them.
‘I must say, Ms Y/L/N, this is a very pleasant surprise. I was expecting Sam, Y/C/N’s nanny. Of course, I knew that the mother’s name was Y/N Y/L/N, but I never dreamed it would be you. It has been so long since we last spoke; It seems I have missed you, without even realising it. You did look very beautiful that night.’
Blushing, you replied. ‘Well, Carlisle, I had no idea it was you who was Y/C/N’s doctor. I have never needed to visit the hospital, thank goodness. But I agree, it is lovely to see you again. We must catch up soon.’
‘They seem very healthy, Ms Y/L/N.’ he nodded, ‘I’d love to see you again soon, that sounds perfectly delightful. Are you perhaps free this Thursday? It is my only day off this week.’
‘Why yes, I believe I am, Carlisle. Shall we meet at the coffee shop? How does 11 o’clock sound? And please, call me Y/N.’
‘Perfect.’ He replied with a smile, writing up Y/C/N’s notes.

Suddenly, a thought entered your mind. You had met Carlisle 3 years ago, and Y/C/N was nearly 2 and a half. He couldn’t be, could he? There was only one way to find out. You decided to ask him outright – Carlisle preferred it when people spoke their mind clearly and directly to the point.

‘Carlisle? Do you think there is any chance that you could be Y/C/N’s father?’
He dropped his pen in shock.
‘Well. How long has it been now, 3 years? And Y/C/N is nearly 2 and a half?’ he said calmly, glancing at their file. ‘I suppose there is a chance, yes. You’re correct. We could organise for Y/C/N and I to take a DNA test, then we would be absolutely sure. Yes…’
‘A DNA test?’ you asked.
‘Yes, it’s a fairly simple procedure nowadays. I can enquire about making that happen, Y/N.’
You just nodded, but deep in your heart you already knew: Carlisle was definitely the father.

TIMESKIP: A FEW WEEKS LATER…

Here you both were, in Carlisle’s office once more. A plain, brown envelope lay between you on the desk. You both stared at it in silence. The contents of the envelope were the answer to the question you had asked Carlisle a few weeks ago.
‘You open, it Carlisle.’ You said, finally looking up at him.
‘No Y/N. I think you should open it.’ He countered, and sighing, you knew that he was right. You took the envelope with shaking hands and tore open the top. You drew out the sheet of paper, and glanced at it briefly, before taking a second, closer look.

Carlisle was the father.

A/N: as usual, thanks so much for reading! You guys rock!

Pairing: Carlisle Cullen x F!PlusSize!reader
Word Count: 1.4K
Warnings: insecure reader, fatphobia, people being assholes, takes place in a hospital
A/N: I totally used this as a way to procrastinate all the work I had to do this weekend and I’m just now realizing that I kind of misread the request, oops! I think this is pretty great though, not gonna lie. Once again, comments are appreciated!
____________________________________________________________
You didn’t often visit Carlisle at work, but occasionally, and most importantly when you missed him you’d find the time to make it over there and have lunch with him. Not that he’d be eating. This day was no different, despite the fact that you had woken up with him by your side and it had only been a few hours, you missed him terribly. Thus, you had made plans with your boss to take a longer lunch break than normal and picked up a sandwich from the diner on the way to the hospital.
Part of the reason you loved Carlise was his ability to make you feel loved, wholly and completely. He didn’t look past your size, he loved it.
“Your body just shows me the life you’ve lived darling, your softness reminds me that you are human and I love it, I love you,” He’d said when you asked him about it one time. In the moments when you couldn’t understand why he had chosen you, why he’d keep you around when you thought you’d never be able to be as smooth as his kind. They were all beautiful and flawless and you were, well, not.
Nevertheless, he loved you, his heart sang for you and when you were apart all he could think about was getting back to you. You are the other half of his soul, his mate, his one true love and he never wanted to let you go.
Taking your sandwich in a to-go box from the diner, you walked through the front doors of the Forks hospital and greeted the receptionist on duty.
“Hey Sandy, how are you doing this fine day?”
“Just peachy hon, and you?” She looked up from the computer screen and smiled at you.
“Doing good, came to have lunch with Carlisle, is he available?”
“I think so, I’ll page him and let him know you’re here, you can take a seat until he gets here.” She said cheerily.
Your stomach dropped, you didn’t really feel like sitting in the waiting room with all these people. You’d never really felt welcomed in hospitals, you had really avoided them until Carlisle had come into your life. Doctors would take one look at you and decide that whatever problem you were experiencing could be solved with weight loss.
Taking a deep breath, you move to sit in one of the only open chairs left. It seems as though everyone in Forks was in the hospital today. As you sit you begin to look around, clocking the mother and daughter duo in the corner of the room. They continue to talk in whispers to one another and taking not at all subtle looks in your direction. You try your best to tune them out, you really do but when the younger of the duo burst out laughing at something her mother said while staring at you, you can’t help but feel the sudden urge to flee.  While you were still contemplating if you could simply text Carlisle that there was a work emergency and run away, he turned the corner.
He seemed to be in a good mood, when he came into your view he had a smile on his face and you watched as whatever tension he was holding in his shoulder bled out when he set his sight on you. You jumped up and walked as quickly as you could over to him, trying to not seem too eager to leave the room full of people.
“How are you my love?” he asked.
“I’m okay, really looking forward to this sandwich and some time alone with my handsome lover.” You cheekily replied
“Well then, I better not keep you waiting.” He took the bag with the sandwich from your hand and placed his other hand on your lower back.
As he led you through, the well-lit halls towards his office, you let your mind wander. It isn’t often that people are that obvious about their distaste when it comes to your figure. And no matter how much Carlisle and his family ensured you that they thought you were beautiful, all it took was a mean look and some whispered comments to bring you all the way back to square one. Why were people so cruel? Why did other women tear each other down? Why were you letting this get to you? Question after question rattled around in your brain and you completely zoned out of your surroundings. You didn’t notice when tears started to leak from your eyes, or the concerned look that Carlsie threw your way when he heard your heartbeat pick up.
Carlisle hates when you cry, he can’t stand you seeing upset. Your heart is one of the only things that matter to him and when it’s in pain, so is he. He didn’t know why you started crying but if had his choice, another tear would never cross your eyelid.
You seemed to jump back into existence when he gently pushed you down on the couch he had in his office. He placed his icy hand on your cheek and lifted your eyes to meet his.
“What’s wrong? Why is your heart in pain?” he asked so gently as if you would break if he pushed too hard.
And break you did, with his concerned tone, tears began to flow faster out of your eyes and down the apples of your cheeks leaving trails in their wake.
In one swift move, he took your place on the couch and cradled your shaking frame in his arms. He pulled you in close to his chest and began whispering sweet nothings into your ear. It's okay. Everything is going to be okay. Just breathe pretty girl, deep breaths. That’s it, you’re doing so well. You had no idea how long this went on for, but eventually, your cries reduced to sniffles and your breathing evened out. Where there was once melancholy, now there was only exhaustion.
“What happened love?” Carlisle asked. You shook your head but answered him anyway.
“There were two girls in the waiting room, a mother and daughter I think. They wouldn’t stop staring at me and whispering things. They started laughing and I don’t know I guess it was just too much. I felt so small and so huge at the same time.” You let it all out, and as you recalled what happened, the weight on your chest lessened. You took a deep breathe, “I know that I shouldn’t feel this way and that you think I’m beautiful it just-”
“Darling, you’re allowed to feel however you want. There is no should or shouldn’t. Yes, I think you're the most gorgeous woman on the planet but that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to have insecurities, it just means that I’ll have to do my best to remind you just how amazing you really are.” Carlisle cut you off resolutely. His arms tightened their hold on you, “I have eternity to show you just how wonderful you are, eventually it will get easier I promise darling.”
“I just don’t understand why people have to be so cruel.” You responded.
“I don’t know love, but you didn’t deserve to be treated like that. You don’t have a mean bone in your body. I tell you what, why don’t you eat your lunch while you do that I’ll retell you the story of the moment I knew you were going to be mine, how does that sound?”
“It sounds wonderful Carlsise, you always know just how to make me feel better.”
For the next hour, Carlisle reminded you of the moment he fell for you when you had walked into the hospital for a check-up. He could tell you were nervous, but you still gave every one of the staff a smile. He had been blown away by your beauty and continued to be blown away by you every day he got to spend with you.
One thing was for sure, you would spend the rest of eternity listening to Carlise tell you all of the things he loved about you. And you would spend even longer telling him all the reasons you loved him right back.

So I realized halfway through that you ment on the run from the Voltouri. And I was tempted to start over but I wanted to finish this version. If you still want a kid on the run from the Voltouri then feel free to send another one in just with different powers and a different character.
Seth didn’t expect to imprint on a vampire. Least of all you. You were four years old but looked eight. Seth flinched at Edward’s curious look,Alice was grinning like a madwoman, Rose’s eye was twitching, Emmett had the biggest shit eating grin in the history of shit eating grins, Bella was confused as all hell, Carlisle was trying to restore order to the gathering of wolves and vampires, Esme was sending motherly smiles to Seth and you. And Jasper was close to a mental breakdown from all the conflicting  emotions coming from the group assembled.
Paul and Jared were rolling over, laughing which was a strange sight to see two giant wolves laughing and rolling on the ground. Sam, God bless the poor guy, was trying to restore order with Carlisle while trying to keep the headache away, but given the fact he’d be the one to tell the elders and consul members he wasn’t having much luck. Quill was doing victory laps as he wasn’t the only one to imprint on a kid anymore. Jacob was Glaring back at Rosalie to protect his brother and by God Jake wouldn't  let anyone hurt his little brother, blood or not. Leah was plotting how to kill you and every way you could imagine. Embry was glaring and growling at Leah. Who would want to kill a child because their little brother imprinted on said child? Even if that child was a half vampire.
But, we need to back up. We need to examine just how you joined the Cullen family. It’s a sad tale. Your father was a kind vampire. He only fed on willing humans. He was almost as notable as Carlisle but your father stayed off the Volturi’s radar. He was smart, he didn’t want any unwanted attention. Your mother was the exact opposite. She was loud, outgoing and hard to ignore. She was also a woman who appreciated a good drink. This is how your parents met.
Your mother was spending yet another of her nights at her favorite bar when your father walked in. Your father was not a man to sleep around as he was from the eighteenth century but your mother had the arua about her, it also didn’t help that she was wearing a very form fitting dress that showed her curves off and she wasn’t shy about showing her legs either. Given the time your father was raised everything about the way your mother presented himself should have had him running for the hills. Key word: Should’ve. But there was this pull that kept drawing your father to this woman. Soon your father was sitting next to the woman in the revealing dress and soon they got to talking and soon they found themselves in your fathers apartment and soon, well, You don’t need to know what happened after that. Oh don’t worry! You’ll find out once you're old enough for the Birds and the bees talk.
The next morning saw your mother leave your father in his bed without so much as a ‘thank you’. Your mother found out she was pregnant with you about a month after that. She tried to have an abortion but your father showed up to stop her. It’s not that he didn’t believe that abortion was wrong but this was probally his only chance to have a child and it was the thing he wanted most in the world. Your mother agreed on the condition that afterwards she was to have nothing to do with your upbringing. She was a woman who wanted to enjoy her twenties but a child would hinder that. Nine months later saw you coming into the world and your after could not be happier. It was a dream of his to have a child. Your father wanted to be exactly that since before cars were a thing. The moment you were in your fathers arms he swore to protect you till his head was knocked off his shoulders and he was nothing but ashes. Unfortunately that fate met your father sooner than anyone would have preferred.
It was shortly before your second birthday but you already looked like you were three. Your father knew what to expect when it came to your growth and development. It saddened him that you would grow up fast but he knew there was nothing to be done. It was one Hell of a stormy night when there was a knock on the door. You were already asleep so you didn’t get to meet the group of three vampires that visited, James, Victoria and Laurent. You didn’t hear the fight between your father and the other vampires. You knew what a vampire was and you knew you were a half vampire. You didn’t hear the breaking of your father’s neck nor did you smell the burning of his body outside the house. You wouldn’t find out the truth for a year or two.
What you did know was the lady with the red hair said she and the rest of her coven would take care of you after they couldn’t save your father. You didn’t know their true intentions, you didn’t know that Victoria just wanted wanted a slave, you didn’t know that James would give his mate whatever she so disiured, and you sure as hell didn’t know that Laurent was an unwilling partner. In the two years since your kidnapping/enslavement you were beaten every witch way. You were forced to drink from humans and you hated it. It was just before James and the others went to Washington state when you discovered your magic. You weren’t there when James and the others encountered the Cullens. Your abuse got worse when Victoria came back. You had massive scars by the time Victoria sent you and Laurent to kill Bella, though you didn’t know that was the mission. You simply thought that you and Laurent were stopping by forks for a quick hunt on the way to Alaska to join Laurent's new coven.
When it became clear why you were brought along you were disappointed. But Laurent kept a firm grip on your shoulder and led you to the poor girl. You knew that Victoria wanted to get revenge for James’ death but you didn’t think she’d go after the girl who James tried to kill. Most vampires would go for the one that killed their mate. You were brought along to kill Bella from a distance should the girl put up a fight you weren’t going to do that. You weren’t going to kill a girl who was an innocent bystander. Laurent had Bella pinned down and you were about to intervene when howls reached your ears and you forze. Your father had told you stories about the shifters and you, while scared of them,  you knew they would smell your human side but would be wary of you because you're a hybrid.
You watched with morbid fascination as the wolves tore Laurent to pieces. You were the one to light Laurent on fire with your magic. You heard his cries for you to help and you worried that if Laurent was given time to heal he’d come after you and you might be able to do magic but you knew you wouldn’t be able to defend yourself from a fully grown, full blooded vampire. But, in killing Laurent you brought attention to yourself from the giant wolves. You took a step back. You were terrified, you knew that your short life would end and the sad thing was, you weren't necessarily saddened by the prospect of your death. You stood still as a large, black wolf stepped closer to you. He got closer and closer till you could feel the breath from the wolf’s snout. You closed your eyes and braced for the teeth. But they never came. But, what did come was a wet wolf nose and tongue licking your cheek. You giggled at the touch and you opened your eyes slowly and you saw all the wolves looking at you with looks of love and understanding.
The wolves stayed for a few minutes until the black one nudged you over to Bella. The wolves gave her a look that said ‘we’ll look for a vampire caregiver for him but until we do please look after him’ Bella looked offended but before she could argue the pack was gone. The girl glared at you as you stared at the ground. You weren’t aware of what Bella told Charlie but the man was a lot like your father and he took care of you while Bella was with Jacob. Speaking of the alpha, he thought of you as a little brother and sometimes he’d insist Bella bring you over when the two would hang out. In fact you were with Jacob when Bella was forced off the cliff. When you all arrived back at Bella’s house.
When Alice saw you her motherly instincts kicked in. She adored you even though she couldn’t see your future. But, that was due to your magic. For some reason you went to Italy with Bella and Alice to save edward. Alice only realized half way through the flight that You could be mistaken for an immortal child and that could lead to major trouble. But, Alice figured that if it was explained that you were a hybrid then any future hybrids wouldn’t be harmed. You liked Alice’s driving. It reminded you of your father. Edward heard your thoughts and knew you were the proper child for Alice and Jasper. You stayed close to Alice. You don’t why but you felt safe with her. You were aware of the glares from the Voltouri guards. As you were brought before the kings you wanted disappear.
The one named Aro was the nicest to you. He waited to see your memories to give judgment. “Amazing, Mother magic has blessed a hybrid. This child is no threat and shall be allowed to live and shall be placed in the care of Alice and her husband.” And that was that and the four of you headed home which was when Alice got Edward to promise her a porsche. You giggled at the thought of being in the fast car again.
Jasper was surprised to meet you but he immediately took the role of your father. Carlisle and Esme took to you like a duck to water and dubbed you as their grandchild. You, of course, loved the idea of grandparents. Rosalie was just as motherly to you as Alice although Rose taught you about cars as opposed to fashion. Emmett was your second dad, especially when Jasper had to be away due to emotional overload and blood lust. Emmett was a teddy bear and never had an issue with cuddling you. He also loved teaching you about sports and you loved it when he called you ‘champ’. Edward was the one to teach you about music. He also kept Bella away from you as he knew what happened from your memories.
When you figured out Victoria was coming after both you and Bella you were more afraid than you’ve ever been in your short four year life. You were brought to the training session just because you were the other one Victoria was after. You were the only one allowed to cross the border and each of the wolves gave you an affectionate lick on your cheek. Then you locked eyes with a wolf with brown fur on top and white on his belly. You knew the pack had expanded in the months you had been with the Cullens. But, the second your eyes met you felt a pull, the pull that was the kind that mates experienced. You didn’t know it but Seth was explaining the same but with imprinting. So while the chaos was happening around the two of you Seth approached you slowly with only Edward, Bella, Carlisle and Sam notice. You looked at the wolf with apprehension. You were friends with the wolfpack but you haven't met Seth, Leah or Quill. So, as far as you knew Seth could be the one wolf who would hurt you. But as soon he was close enough Seth nuzzled his giant wolf body into your side and for some reason you petted the fur and the more you did the more you felt at ease. But, you felt the chaos and arguing around you and felt angry when you heard one particular sentence from Rose.
“You know what? It doesn't even matter. Y/N cant even be alone in the forest anymore. They’ll be mates in name only. We just won’t let Y/N be anywhere the mutt.” You turned your head to the blonde vampire with a glare that shocked everyone in the clearing. You were not a very angry child. You were quiet and reserved and made sure to not anger anyone as to keep yourself from being abused but now? No one would keep you from seth. Vampire or Wolf.
“You will NOT keep me from my mate. And if you try then I’ll leave with the wolves right now and never return to forks.” You saw Alice and Jasper as well as Emmett glare at Rose. they’d finally got their wish to be parentes any god help anyone who tried to get in the way of that. “Sam feels the same. No one will keep the two apart and if anyone tries they will have to deal with the elders.” Edward translated for Sam and Leah backed down a bit but she was still pissed. After the initial argument it was decided that the Cullens would be allowed onto the Reservation with a guard of at least four wolves at all times. You were happy that you could see Seth whenever you wanted.
The days until the attack passed by with a lot happening. You and Seth got to know each other. Seth adored you and made sure you had ANYTHING you needed. Animal blood? You got it. The best muffins or cookies ever? You had an open invitation to Emily and Sam’s house. Over the few weeks till the attack of the newborn army it was decided that Edward, Bella, Jacob, Seth and you would head up into the mountains to try and hide and with two wolves your and Bella’s scents would be hidden.
You always Loved the snow. And to be in a tent with just you and Seth was special. It was late at night as you leaned into Seth’s warm chest. You were trying to stay awake but failing horribly. ‘Why not let yourself sleep, bud?” Seth asked as he tried to keep the amusement from his voice. “Cuz, If they attack overnight, I wanna help.” You couldn’t see the smile on Seth’s face but just know it was huge. “Bud, if we're attacked I’ll wake you up. I promise.” Somehow this convinced you and it wasn’t long till you fell asleep. Seth held you tight the entire night.
The next day Everyone was on edge as they waited for the battle to end. The tension between Jacob, Edward and Bella was thick enough to cut it with a knife. You and Seth just wanted this to end. Seth visablay flinched when the battle began. you leaned into his fur knowing any touch from you would calm him. And you would always make seth Feel better. It wasn’t long until Riley and Victoria showed up. It all happened so fast that you didn’t realize what had happened until Victoria had you pinned down. You were scared to die this time because you’d be leaving Seth. And that thought gave you a sense of angger that you never had before.
“I should’ve killed you with your no good father.” The redheaded snarled which angered you even more. You pointed your hand at Victoria’s ribs and your eyes glowed gold as you felt the magic pulsed to your hands. This gave you a confidence that you never had and you smirked huge. “Yeah, you probably should have. Now it’s gonna be the death of you.” The shock on Victoria’s face was the greatest reward ever. You see Edward brace himself behind you two and you used your magic to blast Victoria off of you as Seth ran over to you placing himself in front of you and you could hear Jacob ripping Riley to bits. You sent a smile to Seth as he Lowered himself to the ground for you to ride on his back.
The group of you five headed back to the Cullen house and you smiled as Edward ruffled your hair. “You’re very lucky Seth. Y/N is truly magical.” Edward said with a smirk as You, Jacob and Seth groan. You kissed Seth’s wolf forehead. “Bad pun aside, he’s Right Sethie. You're lucky you imprinted on me and I’m lucky you’re my mate.” You said honestly as Seth managed to lick your cheek and you smiled as you fell asleep on Seth's beck and you knew that you would be safe and loved. And your father smiled down on you from whatever afterlife vampires had. And the Cullens would make sure you grew up into someone your father and Seth would be proud of.

Live A Little
Pairing: (cis)female teacher!reader x Carlisle Cullen
Word Count: 2.6k
Warnings: Smoking, cursing, bad jokes, reader is on that colt 45 (and some very minor sexual situations during that), SO MUCH RECKLESS DRIVING.
Spotify Playlist: Live A Little
Summary: It's common knowledge that one characteristic of the local doctor is his dedication to helping people. When he finds you stranded and inebriated in a parking lot, he helps you to have the night you wanted.
A/N: I'm so happy people liked Art History!! Let's see how long everyone can tolerate Carlisle until I have to write for another character lol. But I will be making a list as to the characters and topics that I'll write for and all that other fun stuff. BUT in the meantime here's this!
A/N pt. 2: GOD I AM SO SORRY IT'S SO LONG. (Also I put links for songs that I thought would fit the moment but they're not necessary for the story :). They're underlined, like this! )
Tumblr media
You held your breath as you turned your key one more time, praying the ignition would catch. After a few sputters of your now-dead car, realization began to set in. It was late at night in the parking lot of a grocery store, you had nobody to call, and there was ice cream in the trunk.
Damn it! This was supposed to be night where you actually relaxed! It was a holiday weekend, all your papers were graded, bills were paid, and you had picked up a pre-roll from the dispensary in town. And now, you sat in a broken down car, your hopes for a good night melting away. Time to call a towing service. You shuffled through your bag to find your phone, and your fingers land on something small and plastic. A lighter.
Well? The tow service would take a while, even if you called right now. If you time this right, you can still be in a good mood by the time you get home. And really, who cares? People smoke in parking lots all the time.
You grabbed your zip-up and placed yourself on the hood of your car, facing the road. You know what would make this better? Music. This is all just character development. You lit the end of the roll as the music faded in, and inhaled deeply.
Time seemed to melt away, as you felt yourself begin to get lightheaded. You snubbed out the blunt and put it back into the case, swaying slightly. The face of your phone shined brightly when you picked it up. Damn, only 30 minutes?
"Pardon me?" Holy shit!
You whipped your head around, to see arguably, the most gorgeous man you have ever seen.
"Dr. Cullen." You responded, smiling at him. Was this actually happening? This is real. Doctor Cullen, local hero, generous father to God knows how many, and standing right in front of you. Did his lips just move? Shit! He asked you something! "I'm sorry, come again?" You shook your head like trying to shake out the distractions, and he cocked his head at you.
"I wondered if you were alright. By the looks of it, your car broke down." He clarified, and glanced towards your car, which now suddenly looks extremely inferior to his.
"I just, uhhh." You hopped off the roof of your car, hoping for an agile, or even cool landing. That did not happen. You balanced yourself and gestured towards your car. "Yeah. It died. I don't know anything about cars, so I was about to call someone." God, you were acting like such an idiot. You bit back a smile as you stared at each other, both trying to piece together the situation.
"Did you call them?" He asked, smiling gently at you. God, he probably thinks you're insane. Wait, did you call them?
"I don't think so." Your voice got quieter.
"You're the new teacher at the high school, right? Do you teach any of mine?"
"No, but I've seen them around school!" Okay, it was staring to get kind of cold. Or were those tremors? "I'm an art teacher."
"Ah." He smiled at you and glanced at his car. "Do you need a ride home?" You immediately shook your head.
"No! I wouldn't want to disturb your night, you probably have someone waiting on you at home." In all honesty, you didn't want to be in a car with him. How are you supposed to act normal? How are you supposed to act like a teacher?
"I only have my children waiting on me at home" He stepped closer to you. Was he reaching out for you? Holy shit, is he reaching for your waist? He was moving faster than your brain could comprehend, and then it was over. "And believe it or not, I think they'll survive." Something shiny flashed in his hand. Were those your keys? Those were your keys! He took your keys from your pocket!
"Seriously, Dr. Cullen, I don't want to impose-"
"Miss (Y/L/N), I could smell the marijuana as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I will not leave you out here alone. So you can either get in my car, and I take you home, or we will both be waiting out here for a tow truck, which will definitely hinder my night even more." You caught his eyes once more, but this time, his eyes weren't soft and confused. They were determined, and maybe darker? He was right, you shouldn't stay here, who knows who else could come by? Carlisle opened the passenger door of his car.
"Okay." You sighed, and grabbed your bag off the trunk of your car. At this point, your high had disappeared, and you were ready to get home and salvage what you could of your night. Carlisle closed your door, and began to get your groceries transferred from your car to his. He got in next to you, and as soon as he turned the car on, you realized just how cold you were.
"So." He turned the radio up to where you could just barely hear it. "You live in the green house by Lake Pleasant, right?"
"Yes." You narrowed your eyes at him. "How did you know?"
He laughed quietly. "Word travels fast in a small town. May I ask you a question?" He glanced at you, and instantly, your stomach began too coil. wait, why are you nervous? Calm down. "Are you usually hanging outside of grocery stores smoking pot or is this a rare occurrence?"
"Absolutely rare." He just warned you that word travels fast, and while it is legal in Washington, that could still tarnish your reputation. "Pretty much never, it's just-" You sighed and rolled your eyes. "I just thought that I could have the first relaxing night since I moved here. It's been constant unpacking, grading, and now my stupid car broke down, so it's frustrating. I just thought I could try and save whatever nice night I had planned." You ended with a huff. "Oh! And there's more!" You turned in your seat fully to look at him. "I was going to get some ice cream, roll down the windows, scream my favorite song, have a fucking bubble bath! And smoke a blunt because lord knows more people should!"
Yikes. Okay. That came out of nowhere. Maybe you were still a little high.
"Alright, then. Take my phone." Carlisle kept his eyes trained on the road, but handed you his unlocked phone. "It's connected to the car, roll down the window and play whatever you want."
"Are you serious? That wouldn't be... weird or anything?" I mean, you were still the teacher of his kids.
"It's not weird unless you think it's weird. Self-care is very important, and frankly, I planned to have Emmett fix your car for you so you didn't have to worry about a mechanic." As he explained his plan, your eyes just widened, and a dumb smile made its way onto your face. "Also, it's 11:00 at night on a Saturday. You're not at work right now, so we're just two adults helping each other out." He finished on a smile.
"How am I helping you out?" You questioned, looking up from his phone.
"With your absolutely delightful company." He rolled down the passenger window from his side, so you didn't get a chance to respond before the wind and the sound of the rushing car filled the silence.
Fine. You don't know why, but not given the choice to argue with him made you spiteful. If Carlisle wants to play games, you can play games. It's on, Dr. Cullen.
As the song began, you turned your torso towards Carlisle, and leaned your head out the back of the window, mouthing along. As your hair blew in the wind, your eyes were drawn up to the stars, and you felt a rush to your head.
You smiled, and began to really get into the song, completely forgetting about whose car you were in. You were more focused on how the cool air felt on your face, and how the forest smelled after it rained. More of your torso rested on the windowsill, and you began singing along. Loudly. Should you make this more fun?
"Are you a good driver?" You shouted at Carlisle, praying he would hear you over the wind and the music. He glanced at you and his eyes widened a bit.
"I've never been pulled over." He shouted back.
"Arrested?"
"No."
"Chased by cops?" You took off your seatbelt, just noticing that Carlisle never put his on.
"...Not really." Ooh, did he just hesitate? Something to explore later. Whatever. That was good enough for you, and you grinned at him. "What are you planning?" You don't know if it was the adrenaline of Carlisle speeding, the leftover pot in your system, your imagination, or a combination of all of them, but you grabbed onto the top of the open window, winked at him, and leaned half of your torso out of the car as the next song started.
You felt a cold hand grip your knee, and you jumped slightly. Yikes, you knew doctors had cold hands, but this is unreasonable. Carlisle removed his hand when you jumped.
"Please be careful!" He shouted at you, but you knew he was still speeding.
"Live a little!" You shouted back, and the sound of his laugh was clear as day to you, despite the volume of the radio and the wind in your face. His hand found your knee again, this time a little higher, and when you looked down at him, he simply shrugged and smiled at you.
"Live a little!"
Dickhead. You hung your head back and tried to focus on the lyrics, not on the doctor's hand that you swore was moving. It definitely felt like it, but you didn't want to look down and check, because what if he wasn't? No, it definitely was. You sighed deeply, knowing the sound would be lost. There was no way he was doing this on accident, or for protection anymore. Agonizingly slow, his hand continued, until he just barely grazed the apex of your thighs. You were so focused on his grip, so focused on doing whatever it took to keep him there, that you barely noticed the car slowing down. Carlisle turned the radio down and lightly tapped your inner thigh.
"Is this you?" He looked pointedly at the dark green house planted not far off the road. As you dropped back into your seat, Carlisle rolled the windows up, and the energy in the car was suffocating. He said nothing, and the absence of blaring music was slightly jarring. You risked a glance at him, and the hand that was once so close, was now resting on his face, like he was posed a complicated question.
Okay, compose yourself. The car rolled to a stop in your driveway, and you began to wonder if you had just imagined everything: everything he said to you, every time he touched you, and Carlisle's continued silence didn't help your train of thought.
"Thank you for the ride, Dr. Cullen." You spoke, your voice sounding insanely loud, and you cursed yourself for cutting the silence. That's your cue. Get out. You opened the door, and in the span of 5 seconds, images flooded your head of avoiding him at all costs. Oh God, this was going to be awful. Did any of that even happen? What if I need to go to the hospital? The next closest hospital is a 3 hour drive, and there was no way you would ever pay for an ambulance.
The sound of his door opening and slamming shut cut through your thoughts, and you barely had time to turn around before he was in front of you, his face just inches from yours.
“Please.” He breathed out softly, “Please tell me to go home.” His breath on your face made you feel drunk, and your hands found their grip on his bicep, grounding you. “Just tell me that and I’ll leave.”
You definitely didn’t want him to leave. Carlisle brought his head next to yours, lips just barely grazing your ear. His hands rested on your hips, and you found your voice.
"But I really don't want to."
You felt his hand on the side of your neck, thumb lifting your face to his. You felt your back being pressed into the cold door of his car, the force of his kiss pushing you back.
He was rough, way rougher than you expected. The sweet man that helped you in the parking lot was gone, replaced by the man that had you pressed against a car, a bruising grip on your hip. You felt your heart speed up, and Carlisle chuckled lowly at you.
Ah, you got it. You were still playing a game. Testing each other's limits. You smiled into your kiss, and allowed your hands to travel up into his hair, giving it what you thought was a rather strong pull into you. A low groan emitted from his throat, and it only encouraged you even more. Instinctively, you rolled your hips into his. Carlisle's hand pushed your hips back into his car, away from his.
What? Why? No! You whined, but couldn't fight his hold.
"You mentioned wanting one more thing tonight." His voice was low, but it was louder than ever.
"What was that?" You groaned, not really focusing on what he was saying, but on how good his touch felt.
"You wanted a bath. I could help."
You pulled away, and stared at him. Was he insinuating... The slight smile on his face told you that, yes, he absolutely was. Now would be the perfect time for a witty response, but you just... You couldn't think of one.
"Please help me." Okay, you knew you sounded desperate, but that's exactly what you were. You were desperate for him, desperate to do whatever it took for him to continue what he was doing.
"You need my help? He smiled down at you, grazing a thumb over your cheek. Asshole. Was he looking for you to beg? Fine. You could play like this. You reached up to his hand that was on your face and interlocked your fingers with his. Your eyes never left his as you slowly slid his hand down, past your chest. Carlisle's jaw clenched, and you could see the tension settle in his face.
You were definitely winning. When you guided him to your waistband, his hand flexed under yours, and curled into a fist.
"Please." He growled under his breath. "Please don't make me have to take you against a car."
Your stomach jumped, but you continued despite your nerves.
"Still have my keys?"
Carlisle pulled them out of his pocket, and the slightest smile made its way onto his face. God, how could he be so cute and so devastatingly hot at the same time?
"Good." You sidestepped out of his grip, and began walking toward the front door of your house, leaving him behind. "Are you coming?" You called behind you. "I really want to get in this bath!" Your fingers hooked under your shirt and you turned to beam at his dumbstruck face. The shirt quickly came off over your head, and you threw it at him. "Live a little."
His strides towards you were fast, quick, and intimidating, and paired with the glare he had locked on you, downright deadly. Carlisle didn't even slow down as he wrapped his hand around your wrist and pulled you with him. He made quick work of unlocking your front door, and pulled you toward him one more time.
"Do you know," His voice was rough, and it went straight to your core. "Of the plans that I have for you? What I want to do to you?"
Holy fuck. He backed you into the doorway, and let the door shut behind him, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
Fuck the ice cream.
