Ninjago - Zane Patches You Up
Vines and branches whipped at your limbs as you barreled through the brush, but luckily your gi was thick enough to prevent you from sustaining any scratches. You were in hot pursuit of a gang of thieves. They had just stolen a valuable magic artifact from its tomb, an artifact that you would prefer to have in your own hands.
“Don’t they know how dangerous that thing is?” You panted, frustration obvious in your tone.
“If they did, I doubt they’d have stolen it,” Zane replied from behind you. You managed a sardonic laugh.
You nearly fell flat on your face when the thick vegetation opened up suddenly to an angled river bank composed of rocks. Your foot slipped a few inches as a rock tumbled away from under it, but you caught yourself easily and continued running.
The thieves were hauling themselves into a boat when you pounced on them. You seized an oar and swung, knocking out the one who held the artifact. It fell into the boat with his unconscious body.
You lunged for the artifact, tumbling into the boat desperately with arms outstretched. You leapt up with the artifact—a little gold statuette—held high above your head. “Guys! I got it!”
“Excellent work, Y/n!” Zane appraised you, clapping his hands together.
Your cheeks went flushed pink as you beamed at him. For one crucial moment you forgot about the other two thieves in the boat with you.
One of them tackled you from behind, sending you sprawling onto the rocky bank.
“Y/n!” You heard several voices cry out.
You felt a sharp pain shoot up your arm as a particularly jagged rock sliced your skin. The artifact was no longer in your hands.
You felt woozy. You had also hit your head when you fell. Trying to stand up but failing, you fell again. Suddenly you felt a strong body next to your own, helping you limp along to the tree line, out of the way of the ongoing tussle.
The world stopped spinning at last, and you looked to your side to see Zane hunched over your wounded arm. Zane. Of course. He was never far, even when you were in the midst of a battle.
“Is it bad?”
As if in response, a horrible pain shot through you at the slightest touch. Even Zane winced as he watched you recoil.
“You’ll live,” he said after spending a moment staring at the wound. He reached for his first aid kit.
“I can do it,” you offer, holding out your hand. Zane shook his head with a little smile.
“Please. Let me.”
You sighed, reclining a little against the tree and letting him get to work.
“This will sting,” he warned you, wetting a cotton ball with disinfectant. You gritted your teeth as the cold ball dabbed against your tender skin, and you hissed audibly when it suddenly began to burn.
“Sorry,” Zane murmured, trying to move quickly to prolong the pain no longer than needed.
“It’s okay,” you said in a strained voice. You relaxed a bit when he finally discarded the cotton ball. “My fault for getting banged up in the first place. Guess I’m just facing the consequences.” You laughed dryly.
Zane cocked his head. “Was the pain of getting hurt in the first place not the ‘consequence’?”
You shrugged. He had a point, but you were really just trying to cope here. Even with the sting of the disinfectant gone, the wound still hurt like a cow.
The pain eased a little when Zane tenderly wrapped soft gauze around it, fastening the dressing in a little bow. He patted your arm comfortingly. “All patched up, my love.”
“Great,” you grinned, springing to your feet. “Back to battle!”
Zane tried to protest, but you were halfway down the bank already, seamlessly inserting yourself into a struggle between Kai and one of the thieves. With a little sigh he watched you go, an unusual smile making its way onto his lips.
“Y/n, you wild creature.”

Skybound Scene Rewrite, but there are actual character arcs and themes that follow through and stuff
Aka, the lighthouse scene: Bad Ending
The heavy evening air came in warm and salty from the windows. They both knew a battle was imminent, but there was nothing left to do but wait.
“I want you to have this.” Jay gingerly handed the full teapot to his companion. “If anything happens to me, use the Traveler's Tea to get yourself out of here. He's convinced he's going to marry you. If that happens, nothing can stop him.”
Nya’s face soured, as she slumped back, hands gripping the strap which now held the tea to her body
Jay’s face puzzled to match her’s, trying to read her emotions. “Uh...um...you're upset. What did I say?”
Nya sighed. “It's nothing you said. It's just...both of you seem so convinced you see a future with me.”
Jay reached forward to place her hand on her shoulder. “Well, the good news is, we already know which one of us is right.”
Nya jerked herself away, groaning. “You really don’t see that as a problem?”
“What?!” Jay stood back defensively. “It’s not like I’m wrong!”
“Don’t you see how imposing you’re being?!” Nya pleaded with him.
“I’m not being imposing, I’m just stating the facts!” Jay stressed. “I don’t get what I’m doing wrong! Where is all this resistance still coming from?!”
Nya’s eyes narrowed, fiery adrenaline now rushing through her body. “Oh, you’re unsure why the girl you claim ownership of won’t stop resisting you?”
“I get it,” Jay sighed, rolling his eyes. “We had this whole blow out, and you couldn’t choose between me or Cole, you were confused, but it seems that decision is pretty easy to make now, isn’t it?”
“It was never about choosing between you two-”
“Then what was all of this for?!” Jay wave his hands around, his body tensing up again.
“Being able to choose!” Nya screamed back. “To be able to make a choice!”
“Well guess what, your choices are now pretty limited.” Jay narrowed his eyes as he leaned forward. “And I’m the only one you’ve got left, so I don’t know why you’re taking so long to decide.”
“I don’t have to choose you.” Nya folded her arms.
“I don’t think you’re getting it. There’s no point in delaying everything with this defiance period.” Jay continued, exasperated. “I saw the future! You were with me! It’s going to happen!”
“I know!” Nya yelled back, tears beginning to leave her eyes. “I know, I know already! I knew before you did!”
Jay paused, his anger still writhing. “What?”
Nya wiped away tears, her voice lowering. “I knew. I already knew.”
Jay’s face furrowed in confusion. “What do you mean ‘you knew’ you didn’t-”
“You think Zane’s the only one on the team getting visions?!” Nya cut him off. “The universe told me, a long time ago.” She turned her back to him, her shoulders hunching as she held herself. “The night I met you, I had the most vivid dream. So tangible, that I knew it had to be a premonition… and I was with you.”
Jay’s mind raced, struggling to process the new information. “So you knew, the whole time we’ve known each other? Through the dating, and the Cole situation…”
Nya turned back around, but her eyes still refused to look back at him, now swollen and drowning. “You couldn’t talk the day I met you,” she smiled. “So the first time I heard your voice was in that dream.” The tears started to slow as she recalled the memory. “I didn’t recognize where we were, or even really know what it was we were doing, but I remember feeling so happy.”
“That’s all I want.” Jay slowly moved forward, making an attempt to grab her hands. “I just want you to be happy.”
Nya ripped her arm back, wiping away more tears. “No you don’t, Jay.” She shook her head. “You want you to be happy. And you think you need me for that to happen.”
Jay thought for a moment, still uncertain what all of this meant. “You said you were happy in the dream. Doesn’t that mean you’d be happy with me?”
“You know what, maybe one day I would be, Jay,” she shrugged. “But even if I do end up with you eventually, and it does make me happy, you know what I know for sure?” her eyes narrowed as she looked up at him. “You don’t make me happy right now.”
“Nya-”
“I’m serious!” she snapped back, straightening up. “I don't care what the future holds, you're asking me to be in a relationship with you right now, and that is not something I want right now. I don't know how you can't get that through your head."
"And, what? I'm just supposed to wait around for you to change your mind someday for some undiscernible reason?"
"You're supposed to stop! I hate being around you when you’re all starstruck and pushy like this. I hate the way you look at me. I hate having to endure all your endless attempts to impress me, and I hate having to pretend like it didn’t happen, or be seen as the jerk for pointing it out! And I hate having to tell you no, repeatedly, constantly, in as many ways as I can think to, only for you to ignore it, and continue to treat me like a video game you just haven’t figured out how to win yet!” Nya’s rage faded, a few more tears falling down her cheeks. “I hate being around you, and as much as you might feel you need me, I do not want you.”
Jay stood there, unable to accept the words being thrown at him, but unable to rebuke them either.
“And you know what?” a strict confidence entered Nya’s voice as she moved closer. “The man I knew in the dream would have respected that. He would have stepped away a long time ago. So, if you can’t do that-” her finger pushed forward, resting on his chest as her eyes stared sharply down into his, delivering with them a certainty of her words. “Then you are not the man I marry.”

Numbing The Pain (or: everyone gets knocked unconscious :D) [Ninjago]
Soooo.... I kinda wrote a oneshot based on a headcannon by @jinxed-ninjago. I haven't really ever shown my writing to others, so we'll see how it goes. >:)
Cw: injuries, numbness, electrical injury and violence, uhhhhh... Overall angst?
In Jay’s opinion, being injured was less than preferable, for a number of reasons. Being stuck on bedrest every second of every day. Not being able to join the others for dinner as he listened to the laughter and joking echoing down the hall while he stared at the tray of food resting in his lap.
It wasn’t the other ninja’s fault he was lonely, he just really wished he didn’t have to stay in bed all the time. On the bright side though, he got to play video games all day, and he got out of the usual work to maintain the monastery. After all, nothing like the power of positive thinking!
It was a stupid injury. Why were legs so breakable?
They’d been training, like usual. He didn’t remember much, but he recalled being hit by something, then waking up to his leg in a cast and Cole apologizing profusely.
Apparently, Cole had accidentally lost control of his powers, and hit Jay with a boulder, causing him to land on top of Kai, unconscious.
He didn’t blame Cole though. He knew as well as anyone what it was like to lose control. It made him think of when they used to fight over Nya, as Cole had apologized. It was strange how far they’d come from that.
A sudden crash startled him out of his thoughts. More followed after that, banging and thudding and shouting. He heard the others rushing to meet the cacophony, and resisted the urge to leap out of bed and join them. They could handle it without him, and he’d (grudgingly) promised to stay put.
The sounds of fighting resounded through the room, and he grit his teeth. They’d be fine. He wondered what the heck was attacking them this time. The serpentine again? Nindroids? Maybe Garmadon had somehow come back again and was attacking? Some other random villain they’d never even heard of before? The questions raced through his mind like a river as he listened to the combat growing closer.
Abruptly, his thoughts were once again interrupted as Cole was thrown through the air, crashing against the wall beside him and crumpling as his yell broke off upon impact.
“COLE!!” Jay screamed as he slumped to the floor. “Hey, I already passed out this week! Don’t tell me you’re stealing my thunder,” he tried to mask his wrangled nerves with humor, but Cole didn’t answer.
“Oookay, so this is bad,” he mumbled to himself shakily as he considered his options. He could sit here and listen as the rest of his family was potentially defeated and/or hurt. He could try to help Cole (who hadn’t stirred yet but that was fine it’d be fine) somehow, without injuring himself more. Or, he could ignore his stupid broken leg and the pain that would undoubtedly follow, and go help them fight.
As he debated, Zane decided to join the party and hurtled into the room, landing on top of Cole. As his motion stilled, Jay gasped and held back a second scream as he took in the damage.
Half of Zane’s face looked as if it had been chewed on by a large, feral dog, ripped apart and unveiling the robotic parts underneath. One of his arms was missing, and there were open gouges displaying sparking circuits and wires, making sharp buzzing sounds. His eyes flickered as he spoke.
“S-system-m mal- mal-function- circuits-s ove-er loadd-ded-” his voice glitched before his eyes went dark and his body still.
Jay stared, open-mouthed, before he made a decision. Jolting upright, he leapt to his feet. Or at least tried to. As soon as any tension was put onto his foot, instant agony engulfed him, and he collapsed back onto the bed. Clenching his jaw tightly, he breathed through the pain as it slowly subsided the tiniest bit.
“C’mon Jay… You can do this!” he said, voice wavering, before trying again.
The pain was worse this time. His teeth grated against each other as his breathing became labored, but he managed to keep his footing this time. White hot knives felt like they were slicing up his leg, eventually getting so bad that it went numb.
“Well. That’s not good,” he said to the empty air as his voice quivered more. It still hurt, but now more like pins and needles gently poking him. Within a few more seconds, a lot of the feeling in his leg subsided, but he couldn’t stand any longer. Sagging against the bed, he slid to the floor. Now that he was off his foot, it started throbbing, making spots cloud his vision for a moment.
As he looked across the room at Zane and Cole (both still unresponsive, but at least Cole’s chest was rising and falling), an idea struck him.
“Huh… circuits… nerve circuits,” he said out loud as the idea developed. Sure, it was a very very stupid idea and could very well lead to bad results. But desperate times called for desperate measures, and by the First Master he wasn’t going to stand by! The shouting had intensified in volume, and he could make out the panicked voices of the other ninja. Besides, he and the others joked that his second elemental power was stupid ideas. That was his thing!
Mind still fuzzy from the aching torture he’d experienced moments before, he remembered Zane once infodumping about how nerves operated on electrical signals from the brain, and that when overloaded, could be numbed to pain (wow, he’d actually remembered that! See, he did pay attention, Kai).
Well. He was the master of lightning and therefore electricity after all.
“Oh boy. I’m definitely getting yelled at later for this,” he said under his breath as he closed his eyes and focused.
How was he going to do this? Could he even do this? Was it possible to shock himself? He’d never tried before, but had been shocked by other lightning on occasion.
He thought about it as he concentrated on his power. Using his element was like sneezing; almost instinctual, quick, and slightly jarring, pushing it outside of himself. So… he’d have to reverse that. Ignoring the feeling in his gut that this was going to be very terrible, he shoved the growing anxiety down.
Taking a slow, deep breath, he imagined he was inhaling electricity as well as oxygen, and it being distributed through his nerves.
A slight tingling sensation started circulating throughout his body, and he tried it again.
A blue glow emanated from him for a second behind his eyelids, sparking.
Then everything stopped.
The throbbing hadn’t just faded away. It was completely gone. Abruptly and instantly. And it wasn’t just the throbbing either; all feeling was absent. As he opened his eyes, he discovered that he couldn’t feel his clothes rubbing against his skin, the cold floor he was sitting on, the air stirring around him; it was all gone.
“Was this how Cole felt when he was a ghost?” Jay wondered, marveling at the numbness (and slightly panicking. He desperately hoped this could be reversed later).
Getting to his feet, this time without the agony part of it, he glanced back at his unconscious brothers one last time, then sprinted out the door and down the hallway, ignoring the way his foot crunched with every footfall. Doors blurred past him as he followed the sound of voices, now reduced to an alarmingly quiet level. There was no commotion anymore, sound just as absent as sensation. He drew nearer, then skidded around a corner and out into the training yard to observe the devastation that had transpired.
Wooden practice dummies had been splintered and broken apart, scattered everywhere. Sparring targets and weapons had been mutilated, somehow embedded into the walls and ground like shrapnel. Burn and scorch marks littered the scene, a part of the monastery wall crumbling. The sky was a deep gray, casting long shadows.
About thirty enemies were scattered around, standing at attention with their backs to Jay and seemingly waiting for something. Or someone. They wore dark, blood red kasas that cast their faces into shadow, obscuring them. White robes accented with blacks and oranges flowed around them, with brass cuffs wrapped around their wrists. Glowing gold fire designs engraved into the cuffs were arranged artistically to resemble flames wrapping around each other. Sleek black, braided hair fell down to their waists, with vivid, fiery ribbons interwoven into them. He guessed they were all female warriors. They stared straight ahead, toward the gate and eerily motionless. The voices he had followed were whispers, drifting and tangling with each other in the air and incomprehensible. It made the hair stand up on the back of his neck, but he shook it off.
Frantically, he cast his gaze around the yard, until he finally spotted the others. They were all dumped over in the corner, bodies splayed across the ground and faces contorted with pain, yet their eyes were closed and they all lay inert. After studying them for a moment, he noted with relief that they were all breathing.
Rage boiled inside of him, and his face hardened.
No one. Did. That. To the people he loved.
He turned back to the warriors spaced around the yard that still had not moved, hardly noticing the electricity starting to spark around his hands.
His emotions felt amplified. Stronger. His fury grew, consuming every other thought in his mind.
He started vibrating as the neon static spread from his hands to circulate and jerk around his body, intertwining ropes of blinding blues and whites.
Lightning flashed around his feet as he took slow, deliberate steps.
Finally, the enemies turned, and instantly and simultaneously crouched into fighting stances, raising various weapons.
Too bad for them, that did nothing but amplify the surge he finally let loose.
Sharp, blue-white cords arced toward each opponent, turning the air white and scorching. No sound escaped them as one by one, the strands of lightning hit them, causing their bodies to convulse. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw movement from the direction of the others, but paid no heed.
He ignored the way his body was steaming, and searched deeper as the unfortunate warriors still spasmed, unable to move and leave the current that he was feeding. There was no way he could stop now. He’d opened a door, and a thousand-pound waterfall had come gushing out.
He searched deeper still, disregarding the horrifying scene as he tapped into the energy stored within himself that he had put there in the first place.
Instinctively, hardly acknowledging what he was doing, he wrapped it into a twisted, contorted ball, then pushed everything out.
When it finally ran out, satiated, the air returned to normal.
Thuds echoed around the now-silent training yard, as each female warrior crumpled and hit the ground, steam spiraling from their clothes and skin.
Everything was bleached white, except for a small circle around the other ninja, where they lay untouched.
Nya was propped up on her arms, head lifted to gaze at Jay. He couldn’t tell what emotion it portrayed. There was admiration, and affection. But fear and horror was also painted across her face, and it pained him to know that he was the reason for it. She started to stand up, but Jay couldn’t think anymore.
Feeling had come back.
Everywhere was in excruciating anguish. His hands and arms were burned, with protruding raised zigzags of scorched skin beginning to turn red. He stumbled, wincing as he was suddenly very aware of his leg again.
“Nya. I-I’m sorryh…” he trailed off as his knees gave out.
“JAY!” she yelled as she dashed over to him, catching him before his head could hit the ground.
The last thing he remembered was being encircled by her arms as muffled shouts rose up around him. Trusting Nya to take care of him, his eyes shut, and he drifted off into oblivion, chasing away the agony.
Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. Just unconscious :)

“Are you sure you can’t sit here with me?” Harry asked quietly, his hand gently holding yours, his manicured thumb rubbing the soft skin of your hand.
“No, mi amor, this is about you.” You looked around the spacious backyard, a camera crew fixing up lighting and equipment by your pool.
“Yeah, so I want you there.” He gave you a cheeky smile before being your intertwined hands and kissing the back of yours. “Por favor?” He smirked against your hand, knowing that when he speaks your mother tongue, it’s harder for you to resist him.
You almost give in, your teeth nearly sinking into your bottom lip in contemplation, but a loud, childish shriek catches your attention.
Your one year old daughter, nearly two years old, is running around the yard, her flowy pink dress flying in the wind, matching pink sandals with white flowers adorning her small feet. Harry follows your gaze and immediately smiles.
“She’s gonna steal the show. She’s your daughter, ya know?” You teased, knowing that your daughter, Teresa, gets her attention seeking trait from her lovely, pop sensation, father.
“That’s okay.” Harry laughed, releasing your hand to wrap his arms around your waist from behind, watching Teresa run around.
She was your little bundle of joy. You got pregnant around the time Fine Line came out, and Harry often says that that moment of his life was the happiest. You kept your pregnancy a secret—which wasn’t hard since everyone had to stay home—and you also had a couple months to yourself once she was born, knowing that when the world found out that Harry Styles was a dad, you would never catch a break.
Everyone found out when the Golden Behind the Scenes video came out, she was about four months then. Harry was laid out on a beach chair with her in his lap, and he was holding her when he was saying goodbye to fans as he wedged into the back of the car, just after a long day of shooting in the Italian coast.
He was at his absolute prime on that trip. We woke up everyone morning to take care of Teresa, leaving you a couple more hours of rest before you would join them. He would stand on the little balcony of their rental, her little infant body sitting on his arm, her back pressed against his chest as they watched the sunrise or sunset.
And she loved the water. It was so clear and crisp. At first she was frightened by the cooler temperature, but she soon got accustomed and Harry used any excuse to take her out into the water. That was why he had a pool excavated at their house so he could always have moments like that with her.
He just loved being a dad.
“We’ll be right inside.” You told Harry, turning in his hold, your arms coming up to play with his hair, brushing his growing locks to the side. “Right there,” you pointed to the glass wall of your home, which looked into your large living room, a big, blue velvet couch right in the middle. “para qué nos puedes ver. Okay?” You spoke as you fixed the beaded necklace adorning his neck.
He sighs dramatically, leaning his head back, exposing his neck to you. You push up to your toes to kiss it, taking in his sweet scent.
“Fine.” He grumbled, his hands moving down to your ass, massaging softly over your slip dress.
“Hey man, you ready?” An unfamiliar accent spoke, ruining the moment between you and Harry.
Harry just nods before reluctantly letting you go, but not before sneaking in a little ass squeeze.
You give him a pointed look and hit his chest, making him giggle before you come apart. “Teresita!! Dale un besito a papí.”
She runs up to you, her curls sticking out every which way, her little cheeks red from the heat. “Stay with papí?”
You gave a small grown before picking her up. “Papí has to work, mi vida.”
She frowns, her head resting against your shoulder as she catches her breath from all her running. “He’ll be done really soon okay? Do you wanna watch a movie? We can sneak some of papís ice cream, yeah?”
Her face lights as she excitedly nods, her feet kicking in the air as you hold her.
“Teresa! Come give me a hug!” Harry crouched down as you put her in the ground, his arms opening for her to jump into, literally. “I love you, chiquita.” He spoke into her hair, raising back up on his feet. Her little arms wrap around his neck. “Love you too, papí.” He gives a loud peck on the side of her head, making her giggle loudly before looking over at you, one of his hands leaving Teresa and waiting for you to hold. “Love you too, baby.” He spoke softly and sultrily, his eyes looking down at your lips before he captured them with his.
He pulls away to look at you in the same way, eyes down at your lips, his lips puffy and pink and so, so kissable. That’s the face that led to you getting pregnant.
“Okay,” you said, shaking your thoughts away. “let’s let papí work.” You took Teresa from Harry's arms and started walking away, but you feel a ringed hand smack your backside, making you whip around, your eyes narrowing at Harry. Your face was heating up, and he just had a smug smile as he was handed a clip-on mic and mic pack.
You turned back around, avoiding the eyes of everyone around you as you walked back into the house.
+++
“So, a lot has happened since we last spoke, is that right?” Zane started the interview, his legs crossed over one another as he smiled at the singer.
Harry chuckles. “You could say that.” His lips curved up into a smile.
Zane holds out a hand open, a finger from the other hand resting on the index finger of the other. “You released Fine Line,” he moves over to the middle finger, “then the Pandemic happens, unfortunately, what happens after?”
“Um, my now wife had our daughter, Teresa, we got married, I wrote this album, went on tour, and now here.” Harry smiled proudly.
“And you won a Grammy.”
“Oh yeah,” Harry broke into laughter, adjusting his position on the couch. “that too. I forgot.”
“Your daughter, Teresa. She’s so cute, she was just running around here. What’s it been like being a new dad during the pandemic?
Harry clears his throat, “I won’t lie, it was hard. And I can’t imagine how (Y/N) was feeling through it all. I was still working, you know, and there were times where we decided it was best for me to not come home, because I didn’t want to accidentally get my family sick. I would come home only two days of the week, and even then we had procaustions because we wanted to be careful with her. (Y/N) basically had to parent herself for a long time, and I hated that I couldn’t be there, but it was a decision we had to make. (Y/N) is the strongest person I know, and nothing I do will ever be enough to pay her back for everything she has done for us. She’s the best mum in the world. Sorry, mum.”
“What was it like having to stop? Because I know, obviously in the band you weren’t allowed to and now, you were able to. But in the pandemic, everything just stilled. What was that like for you?
“It was almost like a relief really. I was so used to non-stop action, everything coming right after the other and it was like I could finally breathe on my own again. I didn’t have to be anywhere and didn’t have, like, anything due. And for the past 12 years, family stuff had to be put on the backburner. I couldn’t prioritize it no matter how much I tried or wanted to. I always just assumed that I couldn’t be there for my family. And then the pandemic happened and we found out we were expecting, it changed everything, in a bittersweet way. I was finally able to focus on my family, and we stayed at my mum’s house for over a week, which I hadn’t done since I was, maybe, sixteen.
And it was different now. I didn’t just have my mum, sister and some friends to check on, I have a wife and daughter, who are the world to me. Yes, I still worked, but they were always at the front of my mind. I know that Teresa won’t remember that time of her life, where we had to prioritize her safety, but it was a challenging moment. I was there for my family by not being there, if that makes sense.”
“How old is she?”
“She’ll be two in July.” Harry lets out an exasperated breath, his face contorting in pain. “She’s growing up so fast.” It’s then that he glances at his girls from his seat, watching them play on the floor near the floor to ceiling windows.
At that moment, Teresa looks up from her dolls and makes eye contact with her dad. She smiles widely and waves, getting up from her position on the floor. He waves back, watching her run around to you and pulling on your dress. You make eye contact with him and it's then that he waves at you to come over. You shake your head profusely, but Teresa is already running out onto the grass and to her dad.
He grunts as she jumps into his lap, her little feet stepping all over his manhood. “Looks like she doesn’t want siblings.” He joked, his voice strained as he moved her around so she sat on his lap. “Dilé hola.” He spoke softly to get her attention, pointing over at Zane.
Teresa has a finger in her mouth as she waves at him with the other hand, a childish smile playing on her lips, mumbling a small hello.
Harry notices your absence. “Y mami?” He asked his daughter, his hand raking through her unruly curls, trying to tame them. She just shrugs and nuzzles further into his lap, her back pressed against his sweater.
You soon come by with a tray in your hands, a large pitcher of lemonade and some cups resting on top.
Harry quickly gets up, leaving Teresa to sit on the chair that engulfed her petite figure. Harry took the tray from you and put it on the table between the two chairs. He looks over at you again and takes your hand, squeezing it. You mouthed an apology, but he just shakes his head before kissing your hand.
“Hey (Y/N)!” Zane got up from his seat to give you a hug. “Looks like the whole family is joining us.”
You smiled shyly. “Would you like some lemonade?” You asked him but he politely declined. You turned over to Harry and your daughter. “H? Mi amor, quieres limonada?” Teresa nods excitedly, as does Harry. You pour them each a cup and one for yourself. “Is anyone hungry?”
“Love, sit here.” Harry patted the chair he was just on, which had Teresa quickly drinking her lemonade.
“No, no. Te está entrevistando.” You argued.
“Mi vida. Please.” He gave you a soft smile that he knew you couldn’t resist. You sighed and sat next to Teresa, who wiped her mouth of any remnant of the drink. Harry quickly brought in another chair, sitting right next to you, his arm immediately going behind you, resting on the chair.
“You guys are a beautiful family.” Zane complimented, watching the family get situated.
“Thank you.” Teresa giggled, her finger in her mouth again. You all chuckled at her response.
“(Y/N), you’re a native Spanish speaker, correct?” You nod. “On a scale from one to ten, how is Harry’s Spanish?” He teased.
You chuckled, your hand rubbing up and down on Teresa’s arm. “I would actually give it like a,” you glance at Harry who awaited your answer. “An eight point five.”
Harry clicks his tongue beside you and playfully rolls his eyes, his hand that's behind you lightly pinching your shoulder.
“Better than I expected. I’d love to ask you more questions if you don’t mind.”
You look over at Harry, your eyes asking if it's okay with him. He nods, his eyes back to your lips. You were glad he was facing away from the camera.
“You guys were already in a relationship before One Direction split, so you know how big it was. Did you ever think Harry would get to that point again as a solo artist?”
“Of course.” You said without hesitation. “He was made to be performing, and he was always so musically inclined that he could make what he wanted and still be recognized for his hard work. He’s a captivating person, and not just on stage. He always catches people's attention with his music and he did because he was making things that he wanted. I wasn’t surprised by the love he’s gotten as just Harry Styles, and not Harry Styles from One Direction.” You finished your spiel.
The interview continued on, they talked about his success with Fine Line, One Direction and his new album Harry’s House, that you knew everyone was going to love. You and Teresa sat back quietly as they talked, laughing over at Harry any time to get his attention.
You loved watching him talk. He was so animated, he moved around a lot. He would run his thighs, his rings would clank as he moved his hands spiritedly. He scratches at his stubble and pinches his bottom lip. You couldn't believe this man was your husband.
“It was recently mother’s day in Mexico, and I know that’s really the only one (Y/N) celebrates, so we all got up early in the morning-”
“Which was a horrible start to mother’s day.” You interjected.
“And, we just drove around and enjoyed the coast. We did go to one Mexican restaurant, which is the only one she allows us to go to because it does have “real mexican food”. Then we called her mum and her grandmother.”
“Did you get her anything for mother’s day?” Zane questioned.
“Yes actually.” Harry interlocks his hands over his bent knee, he had a smug look on his face as he continued. “I got her a 1965 Volkswagen, Karmann Ghia.” He smiled over at you.
•••
“Did you like your dad’s Coachella show?” Zane asked Teresa, but didn’t really expect an answer.
“Auntie Lizzo!” She exclaimed, raising her hands excitedly.
Both you and Harry chuckled. “It was the only thing she looked forward to.” You joked.
•••
“Papi, papi.” Teresa exclaimed hushly as she got off the seat you were sharing and scrambled over to her dad. She stood in between his open legs, her little hand covering her mouth as she whispered something in Harry’s ear. His hand covered her entire back to keep her steady and her dress from flying around.
“Yeah, baby, we can have ice cream after.”
•••
“Can I ask, how did you propose?”
Harry chuckled nervously, his painted nails scratching at his rough jaw. “I just kind of thought it was the right moment. I had the ring for some time then and I wanted it to be extravagant, but then the pandemic happened. I could’ve waited, but that was the last thing I wanted. I wanted to call her my wife, since the beginning really. It was late at night, and we had just put Teresa to bed and we were on the couch, absolutely exhausted, and I just thought ‘this is the perfect moment’ and I didn’t want to wait.” Harry looked down at his lap as he played with his wedding band nervously, imagining the moment again in his mind.
“I ran up the stairs and I came back with the ring. I just couldn't imagine my life without her,” He looked over at you and made eye contact with your watery eyes. “I didn’t want to keep putting it off.”
“Thankfully I said yes.” You joked.
•••
“So, your wedding.”
You and Harry made eye contact, a soft smile on your lips as you thought back to the fond memory.
“Congrats, by the way. It was very private, intimate. Was that just because of the pandemic or did you always want it that way?”
Harry looked over at you to signal you to answer.
“A little bit of both, I think. We really only wanted our close friends and family and to have it in private instead of announcing to the world we were getting married. We both just wanted it to be an ‘us’ thing, and not have it published. We only did that when we were ready.”
•••
“This album is everything I’ve ever wanted, it’s my life, my wife, daughter, family, friends, everything. It’s everything that means the world to me, put into music. And that’s all I’ll ever need. It feels the most me.”
•••
It was well into the night, the interview done. Zane stayed for lunch and thanked everyone, especially you and Teresa.
“You had fun out there.” Harry started from his position on the bed. His naked torso was leaning against the headboard of your bed, loose shorts sitting around his hips. His lips hung a teasing smirk, his toned arms crossed over his chest, looking much bigger than usual.
You furrowed “Donde?” You kneeled onto the bed, your hands preoccupied with fixing your hair to protect it before going to bed.
“Talking about me.” He teased again, his smile widening.
You chuckled, “I’m hispanic, querido. We love to talk regardless.” You shuffled under the covers as Harry opened his arms for you to sit in, both of you exhaling a relieved breath as your skin touched his.
He kissed the crown of your head before resting his cheek on it, his arms tightening around you. “Thank you for being out there with me. Calmed me down.”
You looked up at him, your tired eyes boring into his contented ones. “Yeah?”
He kissed your nose and then your lips, deepening it as you sunk into him. You sighed beneath him, your hands lightly scratching his belly. He pulls away slightly, “Always need you.” He spoke against your lips, his breath mixing with yours.
You peck his lips again, “Te quiero mucho, esposo.”
He shuffled on the bed to fully lay down, your head resting on his shoulders. “Y yo a ti, mi musa.”

Bad Luck: A Tiny Lloyd Centric Oneshot
Happy Holidays to all who celebrate! I got the privilege of writing for the @ninjago-calendar again! I was assigned the month of March, and the theme for that month was Clover.
Summary: Lloyd's training goes awry when he is plagued with internal voices of doubt and something even more sinister. . .
(5,073 words)
AO3 version HERE
Lloyd was training in the Dojo. His eyes were closed, and he was concentrating on sending his powers out to gather around him and hit a training dummy. He could sense the others around him watching, waiting to see what he’d do. He looked within himself like Wu told him and tried to call out to the power inside him. There was something, but it was still small.
“Come on,” he whispered, coaxing the energy to emerge through his body. He had been making so much progress before, he had even gotten the lightbulb to glow without breaking! So why was today so hard?
You know why, a tiny voice whispered in his mind. Lloyd ignored it.
“Concentrate, Lloyd,” Zane encouraged, “You can do this!”
No you can’t.
“Shut up,” Lloyd muttered to the voice.
“Hey!” Cole scolded,” that’s no way to talk to Zane! He was just trying to hype you up!”
Lloyd grimaced, trying desperately to capture the flicker inside again. The people talking were not helping his concentration, and now there was this misunderstanding. “I wasn’t—”
“It’s alright, Cole, Lloyd is under a lot of stress at the moment.” Zane assured.
Cole huffed, “Well he shouldn’t take it out on you.”
“Yeah, he should’ve taken it out on Jay!” Kai added in.
“Tch, rude,” Jay retorted.
Lloyd could feel sweat running down his forehead as he tried not to focus on the noise. All he’d said was shut up, and even if he had meant it at them, it wasn’t that big a deal. He heard them say it to each other all the time! It was probably one of those ‘only older kids can say that’ kind of nonsense. Lloyd smirked, they should’ve heard the kids at Darkley’s; they said stuff on the daily that would make Uncle Wu’s beard curl. . . wait a minute, what was he doing? Oh yeah, he was supposed to be training!
Lloyd reached again, felt a flicker of his power, but then a sudden crashing noise startled him, and it faded. Frustrated, he opened his eyes to see that Kai and Jay were in the midst of a tussle and had just knocked over Dareth’s trophies (again).
Lloyd didn’t know why but the noise combined with his failure made him angry.
“Why can’t you guys just leave me alone? I was so close to getting it that time, but you guys distracted me!”
The others looked uncomfortable.
Kai shifted to be sitting on Jay, who squawked in protest. “Relax, Lloyd, we were just screwing around, we’re not actually mad at each other.”
Lloyd couldn’t believe his ears. “Calm down? Calm DOWN? My dad is still out there causing trouble!” He turned to look out the window. “And since it’s apparently MY job to fix it, every person he hurts till then is my fault because I haven’t trained enough! And you aren’t helping at all! Aren’t you guys supposed to be training me?”
“Um, Lloyd?” Jay said nervously.
“NO!” Lloyd interrupted, heat flooding him. “I’m sick of not getting better. I was doing so good! You guys are so powerful so when is it my turn? I just want to be USEFUL!”
“LLOYD STOP PLEASE!”
Lloyd turned back around to see everyone suspended in midair, with green energy keeping them from moving. They all looked at him, terrified.
“Woah—oh no!” Lloyd cried. He waved his hands around, trying to make it stop, but it accidentally slammed them into the wall.”
“Yowch! Hey, watch it, Lloyd!” Cole called out.
“Whatever we did, we’re sorry!” Jay screamed, “Just put us down!”
“I’m trying!” Lloyd said, panicked, and still flailing his arms, “I don’t know how!”
“Your powers seem to be agitated due to your frustration with us,” Zane said, “Perhaps thinking of something more pleasant—”
“Think about candy, Lloyd!” Cole shouted.
Kai glared at him, “Candy? Seriously?”
“What? He likes candy! And I’m feeling stressed which makes me hungry!”
“What is the meaning of this??” an old voice asked sharply.
Startled, Lloyd’s attention shifted, and his powers stopped. The four ninja fell to the ground with painful thuds.
“Ouch, Jay get your blue butt off of me!”
“Ha! Payback for earlier, Fire Boi!”
“Enough!” Wu sounded stern as he looked over them all. His gaze met Lloyd’s who looked away in shame. “Lloyd, would you care to explain to me why you were attacking your brothers with your newfound abilities?”
“I—um—” Lloyd could feel his ears flushing bright red as he looked down at the carpet. “I got angry, Sensei. I lost control and—but It wasn’t my fault! The guys were being really annoying and distracted me from my training!”
“Maybe so, but anger is not an excuse for reckless violence. You must rise above those emotions in order to truly reach your potential as a protector of Ninjago.” The others nodded sagely behind Wu, and Lloyd resisted the urge to stick his tongue out at them.
“But Sensei, I couldn’t help it! It’s not like I was trying to hurt them, it just—happened.”
Lloyd was only half listening as Wu told him to apologize, as an ugly feeling started growing inside Lloyd’s chest. Why hadn’t he been able to stop himself?
Because you’re Garmadon’s son, hurting others is in your nature. . . in your blood!
“NO!” Lloyd started to run out of the room, but Cole stopped him with one arm.
“Dude, come on, just apologize! You can’t deny that you banged us around. It really hurt!”
“Yeah!” Jay chimed in, “I’m pretty sure my bruises have bruises!”
“Even I feel slightly dented in places,” Zane added.
See? You hurt those you care most about. How can you save the world from your father when you can’t even save your friends from yourself?
Lloyd struggled against Cole’s strong arm. He had to get away. He had to hide from that voice.
“Lloyd, what’s gotten into you?” Wu asked reproachfully.
Something that has been here the whole time!
“Stop it!” Lloyd bit Cole without thinking and raced off down the hall and out of the dojo. He ran through the crowded city, bumping into people, and disregarding road traffic in his rush to escape. Eventually, though, he ran out of breath and had to stop. Luckily there was an old bridge to his left that he was able to go hide under. He sat on a small ledge and tried to calm his breathing.
“This is all so stupid!” He muttered.
A bubbling noise distracted him from his thoughts. Out of the water in front of him rose a red something with glowing slit-pupiled eyes. It hissed at Lloyd and his blood ran cold.
A serpentine!
“Are you lost, little boy?” it said in a rattly voice. Water dripped off its scales as it loomed closer to Lloyd. And it wasn’t alone.
There were three of them from what Lloyd could see; all fangpyres. Two stared down at him, fangs exposed in horribly pleased grins, while a third snuck up behind him and pinned his arms behind his back. Lloyd struggled against the snake person’s hold, but their grip was too tight.
“Hey, let go of me!” He cried out. “I’m the son of Lord Garmadon and he’ll be super angry if you snakes hurt me!”
“Oh we know who you are,” one of them chuckled, “How fortunate that we happened to be passing by! Our master is sure to be pleased!”
Lloyd continued to struggle. “If you boneheads don’t release me, I’ll be forced to use my green ninja powers on your scaley butts!” Lloyd didn’t even know if snakes had butts, but he didn’t really have time to care about accuracy.
The two snakes looked doubtful, and slightly afraid, but the one holding him tightened its grip.
“He’s bluffing, you idiots!” It snarled, “Last I heard he couldn’t even power a lightbulb!”
“I can too!” Lloyd shot back with indignance. “Anyways the ninja will be out looking for me so they’ll be able to kick whatever’s left when I’m through with y—” A dirty cloth was stuffed in Lloyd’s mouth, cutting him off.
Alright, how had he used his powers before? He’d been pissed at the other ninja and it had triggered something. Luckily, he was pretty pissed off right now too. He’d just wanted some alone time and now he was getting kidnapped by people he’d literally helped free from imprisonment? It wasn’t fair! Lloyd felt the spark flare back up in his chest.
Yes! He cheered himself on.
Indeed, feel the anger! Feed it! Let it consume you and spill out in glorious carnage!
Wait, what? Lloyd shook his head at the dark urge that had overtaken his thoughts, feeling disturbed. He tried to concentrate again but the spark was gone.
Lloyd let out a frustrated, defeated groan as he was led through deserted alleyways and onto a green bus by the trio of Serpentine.
* * *
“Your Eminence, I have brought you a gift!” The serpentine told the figure facing the opposite way. He had his mega weapon in two of his hands and was speaking with the Serpentine generals, who all glared at the new arrivals for interrupting.
“If it’s not a McRonald’s Shamrock shake or a solid plan to defeat the ninja, I don’t want it.” Garmadon growled without turning.
Lloyd had spent the whole bus ride working the gag out of his mouth and finally was able to spit it out. “Daaaaad, make him let me go!” he demanded.
With a start, Garmadon whipped around. “Lloyd? Why is my son here?” He addressed his minion.
“I figured he could be useful to you, sire.”
“Fool!” Garmadon shouted, “Don’t you know that a premature interaction with him could start our final battle before its time?”
The serpentine hid behind Lloyd. “I—I wasn’t aware of that, no.”
“Obviously not!” Garmadon replied. “Take him back right now, and if you even think about hurting him, you will never see the light of the sun again when I’m through with you!”
Lloyd grinned at the snake, who looked terrified out of his mind now.
“Garmadon, If I may, might I suggest we keep the boy for now?” Skales suggested, “We could use him as bait to trap the ninja.”
Garmadon pondered Skales’s words for a minute, then looked Lloyd in the eyes. Lloyd saw his father’s red eyes soften slightly, then go hard again.
“Very well, but you will treat him with respect or there will be dire consequences. Are we clear?” He glared at the serpentine who had brought Lloyd.
Shivering in fear, the snake answered, “Yes, my lord.” He started to lead Lloyd away, but Lloyd realized, This could be my chance to convince him to be good!
“Wait, stop! I don’t wanna go! Let me stay here with you!” He cried out,
Garmadon sighed, “Lloyd, didn’t I just say that we shouldn’t see each other lest the final battle start too early before I—you are ready?”
Lloyd paused, “Well, I’m already here. . . and I don’t really feel like fighting you today, and I know you don’t wanna fight me, so let’s just have a truce for now. Deal?”
After a moment, Garmadon responded, “Alright.” He then turned to his serpentine companions, “Leave us.”
Skales made a sound of annoyance but left anyways, along with the other generals. He gave Lloyd a contemptful look as he passed him. Lloyd stuck his tongue out at him.
And then there were two. Lloyd didn’t say anything at first, he just studied his father’s face. Garmadon’s red eyes avoided his, instead lowered to look at the giant golden megaweapon. His expression was unreadable besides that.
Eventually the silence was broken by Garmadon.
“So, I assume you’re still training with my brother.”
“Yeah, it’s um. . . “Lloyd pushed away the memory of how that day’s session had ended, “. . .it’s going pretty great!
“Hmm.” Garmadon mused, “Well it will not matter in the end, because you can’t defeat me. You are not strong enough.”
Lloyd bristled, “What’s that s’posed to mean? I’m plenty strong enough! Well, maybe not right now, but I’m gonna be the most powerful ninja real soon, and then I can finally stop you from your evildoings forever!”
The corners of Garmadon’s mouth twitched slightly upward in amusement. “You won’t be able to finish me. You’re too soft—too good. It weakens you.”
Ha, good? You? What a joke!
Lloyd frowned at the words of his mind and his father.
With a sigh, Garmadon continued, “If I’m being honest, I would not wish anything more for you—being good I mean. It’s what I was never able to have. I was always burdened with the knowledge that in the end, no matter how hard I tried, the evil in my blood would prevail in the end.
“You fought it till the end though, right?” Lloyd asked, wide eyed.
Garmadon huffed, “Oh I fought all right. But it would slip into my daily life in places I was blind to, and eventually, it was too strong. Evil overcame good that day, just like it will again when the Final Battle concludes.
“But what if you tried fighting the evil again?” Lloyd insisted.
“It’s too late for me.” Garmadon responded with a sad smile. He ruffled Lloyd’s hair and turned away. “Now I must be alone. Guards!”
The doors opened once again and a hypnobrai and constrictai hustled in.
“Yes, my lord?” they said in unison.
“Take my son to one of your more comfortable homes and keep him there until the ninja arrive for him. Don’t let him leave but give him plenty of food and water if he wishes for it.” Garmadon looked at Lloyd, “I wish things could be different, son, but destiny cannot be changed.”
Lloyd tried to bite the constrictai that grabbed his left arm, but the scales were too thick, and the two serpentine half guided half dragged him out of the room.
“Dad, wait, no! Please let me stay!” Lloyd cried after him, but his father did not look back at him as he was taken away.
* * *
Garmadon stared at the megaweapon. “What am I going to do with him? I can’t fight him, he’s just a small boy! If only he wasn’t so pressured into his destiny by Wu and his pathetic ninja! I wish I knew a way to lead him astray, lose his way from me! If we never saw each other again, then the ultimate battle would just not happen!” The megaweapon glowed suddenly and Garmadon realized too late that it had heard his wish. He doubled over in pain as the weapon tore his energy from his body. Suddenly, loud cracking sounds and screams could be heard from outside.
Oh no.
Garmadon rushed outside. A few yards away, he saw a mess of plants that hadn’t been there before. They were twisting and growing, and in the midst of them he saw. . .
“Lloyd, no!” Garmadon screamed and rushed after his son, who cried out for him before being swallowed by the growth. The plants continued to grow and spread until suddenly they stopped, and the sand settled to reveal a large portion of the desert had been covered in trees.
“Son! Are you alright?” Garmadon called out, but there was no answer.
A voice from behind startled him, “Brother, what have you done?”
* * *
Lloyd had no idea where he was. One minute he was being taken away from his father, and then the next, he was surrounded by giant plants. A mixture of twisty dead trees and living trees covered in thorny vines were all around him as far as he could see. Lloyd’s arms stung from where some of the vine’s thorns had scratched him during their growth. Amidst the trees and vines were all kinds of clover as well. There was normal sized clover covering the ground where there had been sand moments before, and giant mega clover with leaves that loomed over Lloyd’s head, making him feel small. He reached out to touch one of the giant shamrock leaves, and was startled when his hand left a glowy green mark on it.
“Dad?” He called out amongst the foliage, “Dad where’d you go? What happened? Where am I? What did you do?” There was no answer. The forest was deathly silent. Anxiety started to grow inside of Lloyd.
“O-kay, this is is. . . this is fine.” He told himself. “I just gotta find my way out. I mean, how hard could it be, it’s just a bunch of plants! Clovers are green, and I’m the green ninja, so maybe if I follow them I’ll find my way out of here!” Lloyd took a deep breath. “I am going to be okay.”
Just then there was a crack of branches behind him. Startled by the sudden noise, Lloyd screamed and bolted off into the forest. Foliage stung his face as he tore through the plant life. After he’d gotten a ways away, Lloyd stopped to catch his breath. From what he could see, there was nothing following him. Lloyd was relieved that the others weren’t there to see what had just happened.
“I gotta get ahold of myself!” he resolved. “No more scaredy Lloyd. I’m a ninja for First Master’s sake! I’m not afraid of a little noise! I’m not afraid of anything!”
How adorable.
“Ah, who’s there?” Lloyd jumped into a fighting stance.
A chorus of sinister whispers that he couldn’t understand crept into his head, and shadows began to move around him in unnatural ways. Lloyd stood still in confusion and rising fear as the shadows gathered together and formed a single entity. It’s aura was unfriendly and Lloyd stumbled backwards. The shadow stared at him with two glowing, menacing eyes, and said only one thing.
Join me.
Lloyd did not join it. He ran away.
* * *
“What do you mean you trapped him in that giant forest??” Kai asked, with fury, “He’s your own son, why would you do that?”
Cole snorted, “Um, cause he’s evil? When are you going to stop being surprised by this guy?”
“I may be evil, but I never wanted any harm to come to Lloyd! I swear it!” Garmadon explained in earnest. “I wasn’t even trying to use the megaweapon that time!”
Jay hummed a doubtful note.
Wu put his hand on Garmadon’s shoulder, “Whatever was intended is no longer important, as long as we move forward with the intent to rectify our mistakes. Come, we must retrieve my nephew!” He motioned for his students to follow him. They entered the only gap in the twisted wall of trees. Garmadon tried to follow, but the trees closed behind the others and would not let him pass through.
The ninja were startled by the noise of the trees closing, and Kai started banging on the trunks.
“Garmadon, what the heck? Open it back up!”
“I—I didn’t do that!” Garmadon’s voice was muffled. “It must not want me to get near Lloyd since I wished for him to lose his way from me.”
“Ha-ha, that’s just great!” Jay exclaimed, “We’re stuck here in an evil plant maze filled with unknown horrors, and the bad guy who made it doesn’t even know how to open it back up! We are so screwed guys!”
Zane patted Jay on the back in sympathy.
Cole turned to face the path ahead. “Well, whatever is in there we’ll face it together. Come on guys, we’re getting our problem child back!”
* * *
Said problem child was extremely lost. It was getting dark and Lloyd didn’t know how long he’d been there. Had it been an hour? Several hours? Days? All Lloyd knew was that he was hungry, and he had to outrun the voices in his head and the shadow that pursued him. Although he was starting to think they were the same thing. There seemed to be no end to the maze.
“I don’t want to do this anymore!” He shouted.
You do not have to, there is an easier way. Surrender to the darkness within! Join your father and you can reshape the world together!
Lloyd stiffened; the shadow was back! It perched atop one of the giant clovers, nothing but darkness and thoe red eyes that leered at him from above.
Enough running, Lloyd. You cannot escape your destiny. You cannot run. . . from who you are! The shadow moved in towards Lloyd, who was frozen in terror as the thing approached. It began to take a more solid form and Lloyd was horrified to be faced with a darker, shadowy version of himself. This version of him had glowing red eyes, just like his father’s, and two pointed horns poking out of his skull.
“No! You are not me! You’re just a shadow!” Lloyd screamed and tried to run again.
He hadn’t gone far before he felt something cold grab onto his ankle and yank him backward and up. He was suspended by tendrils of darkness, and the source, this “anti-Lloyd”, brought him to its eye level and bared its wicked fangs at him.
I am your future, Lloyd! The shadow hissed in his face. Its breath was icy and Lloyd shivered. Whether you win or lose against Garmadon doesn’t matter. His blood is your blood, and therefore the evil that flows through it is also yours! I am in your blood!
The tendrils enveloped Lloyd, restraining him in a dark cocoon. Lloyd couldn’t see anything or hear anything except blood rushing to his head. He felt like he was being stuffed with freezing cotton.
And then
He was back on his feet, in the forest, with the shadow nowhere in sight. Instead, a taller individual stood in its place. The air was pleasantly warm, and stars twinkled through the canopy above them both. Lloyd stared up at the person in front of him and was hit with the sense of looking in a funhouse mirror. Much taller than he was, even fluffier blond hair ruffled by the slight breeze, a green ninja gi that didn’t have the sleeves rolled up so it could be worn by a kid, bright green eyes that patiently stared into his own. . . Lloyd couldn’t believe it.
“Hey, there, Lloyd!” the person greeted with a smile.
“Who are you?” Lloyd asked, though he figured he knew the answer.
“I’m you! Well, who you will be soon I mean.” This older version of Lloyd’s voice was deeper than his own, but still had a youthful ring to it.
Lloyd gasped, “Are you from the future?”
“I’m. . . from a possible future. A future where you keep your resolve to always do good and stand up to evil.”
“That’s awesome!!” Relief flooded Lloyd for a second, then was replaced by the reminder of what he had seen a few minutes ago. “But um,” He lowered his eyes and shifted in discomfort.
“Yes?”
Lloyd took a breath, “What about that thing out there? The shadow? It said I’m destined to give in to the evil that’s inside me. Wh—what if you’re wrong and it’s right?” Lloyd’s throat felt tight. “What if I. . . what if I’m not strong enough? I don’t wanna let everyone down but I’m so stressed ab—about fai—ling them—m!” Hot tears streamed down Lloyd’s cheeks and he tried to wipe them away but they just kept coming.
He then felt himself being wrapped in an embrace that felt so different from the shadow’s. Instead of being cold and suffocating, this one was warm and safe. Lloyd sobbed into his older self’s shoulder for a while. Older Lloyd held him close until he had calmed down slightly.
“I’m so sorry Lloyd.”
Confused, Lloyd looked up at his older self. “Why are you sorry? I’m the one who’s a weak—”
“You are not weak!” His counterpart interrupted, “You are so very strong, but you’re also just a kid, and I—we should never have had to deal with all this responsibility. It wasn’t fair.” Older Lloyd’s eyes were sad. “We deserved better.”
“How did you do it?” Lloyd tried scrubbing the wet off his cheeks.
Older Lloyd’s smile returned, “I realized I couldn’t do it alone. . . that I didn’t have to be the only protector. Our friends were there to help! And they will always be there for us.” He picked one of the clovers from the ground and spun it around between his fingers until it transformed into a small green ball of energy.
“What if I hurt my friends?”
“They’ll always be there,“ Older Lloyd repeated, “Even at your worst, or when it feels like they’re gone for good, they’re still here.” He put his now glowing hand over Lloyd’s heart.
Warmth erupted in Lloyd’s chest at the touch, and there was green energy sparking out of his hands. The blanket of doubt that had been smothering him had lifted, and he felt like he could take out a hundred training dummies. Lloyd looked up once again in awe of his future self.
“How—?”
His future self only winked at him. “You got this, buddy. I’m proud of you!”
That last sentence echoed in Lloyd’s mind as he was yoinked back to reality. He was still in the cocoon, but his new energy boost served as protection from the smothering cold. His green glow lit up the small space.
“Okay, let’s try this again,” he said, “Concentrate!” The energy that flowed through him was like nothing he had ever felt before, and it felt good. The light burst through the shadowy prison, breaking it apart and freeing him. Lloyd dropped to the ground and fell with a soft thud in the carpet of clover, which were now all lit up with the green glow from before.
What? The shadow form shrieked, How?? You should be infused with darkness by now!
“Here’s the thing,” Lloyd said as he stood up to face his shadow demon, “You keep saying that it’s my destiny to become evil, but it’s not even your choice is it? It’s mine!”
Anti-Lloyd’s red eyes narrowed, What?
Lloyd’s eyes flashed bright green as he readied his attack, “Well I choose good! Not evil! Never evil! I will always oppose darkness!”
The shadow let out a pained shriek and lunged for Lloyd.
Lloyd steadied himself as it got closer, “You are not my future!” He shouted and blasted the demon with every ounce of power he had. The thing vaporized instantly, without any time to even cry out in rage at its loss.
The forest was quiet once again. Little glowing specks floated through the air in wake of the exorcism. Lloyd reached out and tried to catch one but when he opened his hands it was gone. The glow from the clover around him was also starting to fade. Lloyd picked one of the small ones and twirled it between his fingers, like his future self had done. “Thank you.” He whispered. Suddenly the clover turned to sand in his palm, and trickled off his hand to the ground. Lloyd blinked, confused.
There was a sudden rumble of the earth that landed Lloyd on his butt. Then he was rising through the plants—no wait, they were sinking back into the ground! As more and more of the plants descended, Lloyd saw the ninja and his uncle a bit away from him. They appeared to be tangled in some vines, but the vines turned into sand and they fell to the ground as he had done. The sand settled slightly, and all was still again.
Lloyd got up, hastily. “Hey, guys! Uncle Wu! Over here!” He ran towards him, nearly tripping on sand a few times.
“Lloyd! You’re okay!” Kai shouted, and ran to pick him up and twirl him around.
Lloyd giggled as he was spun. “Yeah I’m okay.”
Wu came over and looked him in the eye. “Are you hurt, Lloyd? Was the forest unkind to you?”
“I’ve got a few scratches but that’s it.” Lloyd answered. “Ooh, but I also got to fight an evil shadowy demon version of myself that tried to drown me in this weird cloud, but then this awesome super cool other me showed up from the future and gave me a magic clover that got inside me somehow, and helped me kick that shadow demon’s butt! It was so cool!”
The others were quiet for a second, then Jay said, “That. . . sounds like it was a whole lot of heavy stuff.”
“Yeah, are you sure you’re okay, Bud?” Cole added.
Lloyd recalled the shadow’s cold grip and shivered, but then remembered that he was safe, in Kai’s warm arms, and smiled at everyone. “Yep! I’m pretty hungry though. Can we stop at McRonald’s?”
Everyone laughed in relief.
“Yes, Lloyd.” Wu responded, taking his nephew’s small hands in his old, wrinkled ones.
“I’m buying.” Garmadon said from behind.
Everyone jumped and turned to see Garmadon standing sheepishly. He looked at Lloyd. “Lloyd, I am so sorry, I never meant for you to be trapped and treated in such a way. I wasn’t thinking clearly when I made the wish to keep you from me.”
Lloyd figured he should be furious with his father, but he looked so pitifully sad. Besides, there’d be time later for negative emotions. Right now, all Lloyd wanted was a six-piece nugget kid’s meal with a Fritz Donnegan toy. And maybe a shamrock shake.
“It’s okay, Dad, I forgive you this time. But don’t do it again. Also can I get nuggets?”
Garmadon smiled, “Of course you can.”
“Yeah, free food!” Cole and Jay shouted.
“I’m not getting you anything you fruity idiots!” Garmadon snapped at them. “This is me making up for nearly getting my son killed before our destinies decide our true fate.”
“It was worth a shot,” Cole commented. “Don’t pull anything funny on the kid though, we’ll be watching you, Garmadon.”
“Whatever. Come on, Lloyd.”
Everyone headed back towards the city of Ouroboros.
“Hey, Dad, I defeated a shadow demon today!” Lloyd said in excitement.
“Oh, did you?” Garmadon responded, intrigued.
“Yeah, I told it I’m never gonna give up my resolve to do good. And the same goes for us. I’m gonna give it my all when we battle. But. . . I hope that doesn’t happen for a long time.”
Garmadon tousled Lloyd’s mop of blond hair. “Me too, son, me too.”
Thank you for reading! :D

to mourn the self
Rating: Gen Characters: Nya, Zane Word Count: 927 Cross-Posted to AO3
It’s been quiet.
One of those rare moments after victory when they’re allowed to simply be.
The monastery is… nicer after its reconstruction. And while the others are out learning more about themselves, Zane elected to stay behind today. As did Nya.
“Does it get easier?” Nya abruptly ends the silence they entered minutes ago.
There’s an easy smile on Zane’s face as he moves one of his stones to secure more of Nya’s. “Nya, you are the one who requested to play Go against me. I did not promise I would go easy.”
“Not the game, Zane…”
He looks up at her, raising an eyebrow. “Then what do you mean?”
“I mean… mourning yourself… who you were before you changed. Does that ever stop?”
Zane is quiet as he contemplates her words. He’s had a conversation like this before, with Cole, but he wasn’t as hung up about it after he got his body back. Or if he was, he never expressed it. But Nya…
She’s always been self-reliant. He understands the feeling, to some extent. Raising yourself tends to do that, and though he recovered his memories of his father that doesn’t erase the years he spent alone before Wu found him.
He wasn’t expecting her to talk to him about her time with the sea.
“No.” Zane finally says.
Nya looks frustrated by this.
“Truthfully, I try not to think about it. I am at peace with who I am now but that does not make me not… miss things. I notice differences more often than I would care to admit. For example, in my old body, I used to get hungry. My father designed me to be as close to human functionality as possible. This body is missing those… humanisms. My rebuild was incomplete before I got taken by Chen.”
“Sometimes it feels like my body will turn to liquid all over again.” Nya admits quietly, “Like if I don’t stay focused on staying me I’ll fall apart.”
Zane frowns. “I understand…”
“It’s… the feeling of helplessness.”
“Is… there a reason you asked me this? Rather than Jay or Kai.”
“They don’t… get it. To Kai, I’m his little sister that he still has to watch out for, if I say something like this he’ll get all… Kai about it, you know? Jay would get really sad for me but in that oblivious Jay way that somehow makes you feel more bad for him than yourself. You’re more reasonable than they are and you’ve… experienced something similar.”
“I see.”
They both fall silent.
“Did…. did you ever feel helpless as the Ice Emperor?”
Zane’s frown deepens. “I… did not know myself as the Ice Emperor. I felt… powerful. I believed my words were just and right. But looking back…”
“None of us blame you for it.” Carefully, she reaches over and places her hand on his, comforting.
Zane draws away, instinctively, “No, of course you don’t. I do not imagine the people of the Never Realm feel similarly, however. It is… frightening to know I am capable of such cruelty. And yes… At times I feel helpless because of it. Which is why I try not to think about it. About who I was before everything.”
“Not knowing yourself is… scary.”
“You felt similarly as the Sea?”
“After enough time I forgot myself. That we’re so fragile to forget who we are? To lose ourselves? I worry about what’s to come, honestly. And it will because Ninjago can never stay saved.” She huffs in annoyance at the last bit.
Zane eases up and laughs softly, “No, it cannot. It feels as though there is something new every year.”
“For once I wish it would just stay saved. I never wanted to be ordinary but I’d like for a break once in a while, y’know? See Ninjago without the perils.”
“A road trip does sound like a pleasant idea. But you might want to consider who you would want to take.”
Nya groans, as she looks back at their game. She makes her move and Zane raises a brow at her decision, though she doesn’t seem to notice or care. “Ugh. I love him, but Jay would complain the entire time about bugs, and Kai is annoying to go on trips with.”
“I have been on a few with Cole, he’s not a bad choice, though he does waste money on buying souvenirs.” One more stone, and... there. “I win, by the way.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been on a trip with Lloyd.” She glances down at the board and frowns, “I was never good at Go, anyways.”
“I’m not sure I have either. Save perhaps to the arcade when he was a younger child.”
“He was such a little shit at that age.”
“Indeed. To be quite honest, at times I feel bad he had to grow up so fast…”
“Me too, unfortunately prophecies don’t seem to like waiting for people to grow up before thrusting responsibility upon our shoulders.”
Zane hums in agreement, before he switches tracks, “I am not sure I would count any of my trips with Sensei as trips.”
“Oh, Sensei trips are by far the worst. Everything is a lesson to him,” Nya laughs, then pauses, “Zane— let’s go on a road trip together.”
“Me?”
“Yeah! You know more about the ecosystems of Ninjago than anyone else here does, and you won’t have to hoard all the snacks while we drive.”
Zane smiles, glad to see Nya’s spirits rekindled as opposed to earlier. “I would enjoy that.”

Remember This Day (Bad Endings One Shot)
I had this one shot sitting around for a while and figured, hey, why not post it for Halloween? I might post it to my ao3 someday, but for now it's just a treat for Tumblr to see :3
Anyway, this takes place in the Bad Endings Au (which was already mentioned in the title but it's fine)
_______________________
The base of the Bad Ending Ninja was quiet, much more than usual, but that was probably because Kai was taking a nap. All of the ninja were standing around in the main cabin while Lloyd paced back and forth. The only one who wasn’t present at the moment was Jay.
“Where is he?” Lloyd questioned.
“You expect us to keep track of him?” Zane asked. “You’re lucky I keep track of Kai.” The nindroid gestured towards the sleeping half snake.
Lloyd gave Zane a scowl before turning to Cole. “Have you at least seen him?” he asked. “He usually sticks by your side.”
Cole just shrugged and looked away. Lloyd seemed to notice something off about the ghost. He turned to Zane once more.
“Does Cole seem quieter than usual?” he asked quietly.
“He is always quiet,” Zane reminded. “I don’t understand what you mean.”
Before Lloyd could speak further, he was interrupted by the cabin door swinging open, a loud CRASH sounding as it hit the wall. The crash jolted Kai awake, causing him to fall out of the bed.
“Happy Day of the Departed!” Jay cheered, holding a bunch of lanterns.
“Jay, what is this?” Lloyd questioned angrily while gesturing at all the lanterns Jay was holding.
“It’s Day of the Departed, duh,” Jay replied. “Normally I wouldn’t want to take a day off, but considering it’s a special occasion, I figured we should take the time to celebrate.”
“Celebrate what?” Lloyd questioned. “We have no reason to celebrate! We need to focus on defeating the ninja!”
“Besides,” Zane stepped in, “this whole tradition is stupid.”
“Stupid?!” Kai questioned. “There’s NOTHING stupid about getting free candy!”
Lloyd let out an annoyed groan. “Kai, aren’t you a little old for that?”
Kai snapped towards Lloyd, glaring at him and hissing.
“Kai wanting to participate in such a childish activity doesn’t surprise me,” Zane said.
Lloyd rolled his eyes before turning back towards Jay. “Listen Jay, we don’t have time for this,” he said. “And besides, this day is meant for honoring fallen friends and family.” Lloyd looked away. “And none of us have anyone to honor.”
“Ok, fair point,” Jay agreed, “but are you really trying to tell me that you don’t want free candy?”
“Ugh. I’m too old for that, Jay,” Lloyd argued.
“Are you sure?” Jay questioned. “You really don’t want to taste that sweet sugary goodness?”
Lloyd started to picture it in his head. It had been so long since he had anything sweet, and just thinking about it started to make him feel excited.
“You wanna miss out on all those free lollipops and gumdrops, not to mention the chocolate-”
“Ok, fine!” Lloyd cut him off. “We’ll take a break for today. If anyone needs me, I’ll be out getting candy.”
Lloyd’s body became surrounded by a purple mist as he shapeshifted to look like a human in a costume before walking out of the room.
“C’mon, Zane!” Kai urged. “We gotta get more candy than Lloyd!”
“Is everything a competition to you when it comes to Lloyd?” Zane asked.
“Is it really a competition if I always win?” Kai replied, giving a smug look.
Zane rolled his eyes. “Well you’re going to need a disguise,” he reminded. “Nobody is going to give you anything looking like that.”
“Good point,” Kai agreed. He grabbed his staff, using the power of form to disguise himself to look like he was in a costume. “Alright, now we can go!”
“I feel like I am going to regret this,” Zane groaned as Kai dragged him out of the room.
Jay gave a satisfied look as he watched everyone else leave. He promptly dropped the lanterns on the ground before rubbing his hands together.
“Now that they’re all gone,” he said, “it’s just you and-” Jay paused as he quickly realized Cole was gone. “Cole?”
Jay looked around the room for a while before frowning. He left the room to continue looking for Cole, eventually making his way outside of the base.
“Cole! Where’d you run off to?” he called out. “You didn’t run off to get free candy too, did you?”
“Hmph.”
Jay immediately recognized Cole’s grunt. He looked around for a bit before finally noticing Cole sitting up in a tree, his back to the pirate. Jay walked over to the base of the tree, staring up at the ghost with an annoyed expression on his face.
“What are you doing up there?” he asked.
“What are you doing?” Cole questioned, turning towards Jay. “You never want to take breaks.”
“Is it really that hard to believe that I genuinely want a day off for a holiday?”
Cole gave Jay a skeptical look, remaining silent.
Jay let out a quiet groan. “You know me too well…” he mumbled. “Fine! You caught me! I had to keep the other busy so I could sneak off for a while.”
“What for?” Cole asked.
“Are you kidding me? It’s Day of the Departed! This day is perfect for plundering and pillaging!” Jay explained. “Everyone is too distracted to do anything so pickings will be super easy. Especially with a ghost helping me out.”
“I’ll pass,” Cole denied, turning away again.
Jay blinked. “What?”
Cole remained silent, not responding to Jay at all. This seemed to annoy Jay even further.
“Cole, would you stop pouting?” he said. “You’re acting like more of a downer than usual.”
“Just leave me alone…” Cole mumbled.
“No! I need your help with this!” “I said leave me ALONE!” Cole snapped. He stood up, summoning his scythe and jumping down. He slammed his scythe into the ground causing Jay to jump back. After the initial shock wore off, Jay glared and pulled out his sword. The blade became surrounded with water as he pointed it at Cole.
“Back off,” Jay warned with a dark voice.
Cole’s eyes remained narrowed, but he stayed put. He stood up straight and put his scythe away before turning and walking away.
“Hey, where are you going?” Jay asked.
Before Jay could question him further, Cole simply disappeared. Jay groaned angrily, tiny sparks shooting off of his body.
“Fine! I don’t need your help anyway,” Jay said, putting his sword away and crossing his arms. He turned and started to walk away but quickly stopped. Not satisfied with Cole technically winning the last laugh, he immediately turned back and started walking in the direction that Cole had wandered off in. He figured that the ghost wouldn’t remain invisible forever, and just like he had hoped, he eventually spotted him. He decided to continue following in silence because he knew Cole would simply disappear again if he knew Jay was following him. Cole eventually stopped near the outskirts of the city. Jay initially assumed that he was trying to get free candy like the others, but he knew that answer was too easy. Jay narrowed his eye as he watched Cole who was looking around. After a while, Cole kneeled down to the ground and lowered his head. Jay blinked, confused. He decided now would be a good time to make his presence known.
“Wow, you’d really rather wander aimlessly than help me steal from some people,” Jay complained as he walked up to the ghost.
Cole visibly jumped slightly as he heard Jay’s voice. He looked over at Jay.
“You followed me?” he questioned.
Jay stayed quiet, silently glaring at Cole.
Cole shook his head. “Why don’t you just go pillage by yourself?” he asked. He turned around. “Stop bugging me.”
“What’s wrong with you?” Jay asked, those words making Cole visibly tense up. Cole didn’t respond at all to Jay’s question. The pirate rolled his eye at Cole’s stubbornness to speak. “Look, I don’t know why you’re upset, but you’d better get it worked out before-”
“Stop talking,” Cole interrupted.
“Excuse me?”
“Just… stop…” Cole repeated, his voice sounding frail.
Jay blinked, surprised by Cole’s sudden change in tone. “Hey, if it’s something that I did, then I-”
Jay was cut off as a barrage of rocks shot out of the ground, creating a wall between Cole and Jay. Cole immediately started running off.
“Hey!” Jay yelled. He was really getting sick of Cole leaving at this point. He pointed his sword to the ground, creating an earth platform to go over the wall. He chased after Cole, but the ghost had gotten a distinct head start. Still, Jay refused to stop. The two of them continued running for a long time, Jay occasionally yelling after Cole, but the ghost never responded. Cole eventually slowed down when he saw a floating chunk of earth in the sky. He froze for a second as he saw the familiar temple on the floating island. Cole took a couple of deep breaths before stomping his foot on the ground. The earth shook for a moment as multiple stones flew into the air. Cole floated up to each of them using them like stairs to eventually reach the floating island.
Jay arrived closely behind Cole and skidded to a halt as he watched Cole. Seeing how Cole climbed up, he quickly replicated him, using blasts from his sword to give himself an extra jump boost to reach the stones Cole had used. Once he reached the top, he stepped onto the island and saw Cole. As usual, the ghost stood with his back to Jay. It looked like he was staring at the temple in front of him. Jay studied the building for a brief moment before he realized what he was looking at.
“Isn’t this Yang’s haunted temple?” Jay questioned, walking up to Cole. He stood next to him, and just like he had gotten used to, Cole didn’t answer him. Jay frowned, but his eye quickly widened when he noticed Cole’s body had become shaky.
“This…” Cole said in a quiet voice. “This is where I lost everything…”
Jay was quiet for a moment. “Because you became a ghost?” he asked.
Suddenly, Cole fell to his knees, causing Jay to step back from surprise. Cole lowered his head into his hands.
“I am so sorry…” he apologized, but for what, Jay didn’t know.
“Ok, you’re kinda starting to freak me out, dude,” Jay said. “Why don’t you calm down and we can go home?”
Cole slowly lifted his head up and looked up at Jay. It was hard to tell if Jay’s expression was one of confusion or genuine concern. As Cole stared at Jay, his breathing became more uneven until he broke down into tears. Jay blinked, continuing to feel nothing but shock and confusion as he watched Cole. He kneeled down, attempting to place his hand on Cole’s back, but it simply phased through him. Cole continued crying for quite a while and Jay was too awkward to try and say anything to make him stop. After what felt like an hour, Cole started to calm down slightly.
“You uh… you good?” Jay asked.
Cole sniffled, wiping the green tears away from his eyes. “It was on this day… Day of the Departed… when it happened…”
“When… when what happened?” Jay asked.
Cole stood up and started walking closer to the temple. “I told you about the other ninja from my timeline, right?” Cole asked. “How they died?”
“Yeah,” Jay nodded. His eye then went wide as he realized where Cole was going. “Oh.”
Everything went deathly silent. Jay kicked his foot back and forth, having no idea how to handle this situation. Eventually, Cole finally broke the silence.
“We can head back to base,” he said. “I just need one moment.”
“Ok,” Jay replied.
Jay hesitated for a moment before walking away slightly. Cole kneeled down to the ground, Jay glancing back at him for a moment. He could hear Cole saying something, but at this point he was too far away and Cole was too quiet for him to make out the exact words. Cole eventually stood back up and made his way over to Jay.
“You ready to head back?” Jay asked.
Cole nodded quietly.
“Cool,” Jay replied. The two of them were about to jump down from the island, but Jay stopped. “And hey,” he said, “if you want, we can light one of those lanterns when we get back.”
Cole blinked, not expecting Jay to offer something like that. “Yeah…” he agreed, “I think they’d like that…”

the treatment of a young justin bieber and in turn my inability to see him as the enemy:
keeping my trend of just talking and giving my 2 cents on trending topics, in the matter of rich, cis white men being exposed as a literal scum of the earth people i am never moved or surprised. (i also don’t usually care bc it’s normally someone i was not a fan of before they were exposed for heinous behavior)
however i have never been able to shake my sympathy, understanding, and hesitance to write off the musician that is justin bieber. i just always feel as though there’s so much he deals with behind the scenes that we’ll never know about. that’s true of anyone famous but the reason i say this is because of the amount of documentaries this man has where they barely skim the surface of what he endured in the industry. the stuff they choose to discuss doesn’t even scratch the surface of even things we saw happen on live television
(early sexualization of a child, SA, SH, etc.)
his entire brand since he was 15 was also to essentially be a “boyfriend” to all his fans and the minute he dropped the persona because he wasn’t feeling up to being touched/groped/kissed/screamed at for the day he was in turn CRUCIFIED in the media for being a heinous human. which has always been so odd to me? like the media/general public has some sort of claim or ownership of his body since he was a developing child. it’s gross and it’s been like that since his formative years. (that has to be ridiculously damaging)
*update* i’m reading this back to make sure i articulated my thoughts in the way i wanted and i’m now angrier about his treatment then when i first typed it. bc why isn’t his body allowed to be his and why is he a villain for setting boundaries? bc he’s a boy? that’s actually is so disturbing to me the longer i sit with it. (no seriously i want you to think abt how physically and mentally he lost like all body autonomy at 14. and he has never gotten it back in all honesty.)
also him having a drug problem in (2014?) i think and knocking on deaths door at (18/19? years old) visibly deteriorating and reacting to his lifestyle/trauma he was given too young, adult celebs took to twitter to call him names and attack him when he was clearly a child (yes child idc that he was 18) crying for help was also extremely odd to me. laughing at the traumatized kid having a downward spiral and evidently no reliable adults in his life left a bad taste in my mouth, even then.
maybe it’s the blind items i keep seeing about his alleged SA or the clips of it happening from grown women in talk shows, or because the open discussion about his sex life/sexual preferences/when he was only 15 and growing up watching the general public use him (A KID) as a punching bag/toy for their own enjoyment gives me so much sympathy and is why i’ve always given him grace. it’s also worth noting those who are respected in hollywood and are close to him speak extremely highly of him which also makes me pause to think he’s not nearly as heinous as the media has always liked to paint him.
not to mention that interview he did with zane lowe ?? where he talks about wanting to protect billie eilish from what he endured in the industry because “he wouldn’t wish that upon anybody” and then starts to sort of crumple in on himself when speaking about it like he can’t even recount what he’s been through without it having a visible effect is SO sad/scary to me. that whole interview was very strange and sort of haunting actually.
to this day small things he does/says are blown up to insane headlines to make him look like he’s on some tirade and then you watch the clips with these insane titles and it’s just the man asking to be left alone for a little while ? he just seems like a deeply traumatized/cut individual to me.
i hate long post w no pictures or gifs so this is what justin bieber looks like if you didn’t know !😃
(i think everyone who’s had the internet longer than a week could identify this man in a line up of white men but i digress😭)
Tumblr media
but that could just be because i witnessed his growing up in my lifetime so it feels closer than most lmao idk. it’s very possible i wouldn’t be as sympathetic if i didn’t watch him get broken down in real time.

I know it's pretty much a cliche at this point that I always come around every once in a while and pop in some s5 angst request (sorry if it's getting repetitive, but these are the tropes coming to mind... I also hope I've never sent a request for this trope to you... I don't think I did, but my memory is bad at this), but if the opportunity is open then I'd like to ask for something with this prompt:
Lloyd somehow manages to escape mid S5, but due to possession caused damage/illness, he's in horrible shape as he stumbles into the tea shop while everyone else is there holding a meeting about what to do next
So I tried. I really did try to write Lloyd whump. It became Nya angst instead. Your prompt is still in here, but not in the way you may have expected. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this.
“But Sensei-”
“No buts, Nya,” Wu interrupted her bargaining, his gaze flicking to the inside of the tea shop for a very brief second before looking back into her eyes, “I need you to stay here with Lloyd while we go after the realm crystal. If Morro comes for him, you are the best line of defense.”
“But I haven’t even unlocked my true potential yet!”
“You are staying here. I need you here, to watch over him.” Wu insisted and Nya had to admit to herself, no matter how annoyed it made her, that he was right this time, even if it meant that she would have to throw a bucket of water at Morro’s face if he showed up.
“Yes, Sensei.” She groaned, waiting until the Bounty left to go back inside, locking the doors behind her, only if it was to prove that she was needed on the ship, or at least would be more useful within the action.
Just a few hours ago, she was fully prepared to go with the boys into the tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master despite her lack of control over her elemental abilities, and now, just like so many times before, she was left behind to babysit. It was infuriating.
Even if she had grown to look at Lloyd like a little brother, and was glad that he was home without Morro looming over him, she was still angry when she knew that adding a large hose to her Samurai X mech would stop this problem in its tracks.
‘ “So when you arrive at the tomb, it is imperative to take the realm crystal and get back out. The less time you spend there, the better.’ Wu explained as the five of them listened intently, all adorning their gi’s and masks, ready to board The Bounty.
Well, even though there were five of them in the room, it did not include Jay, who had left once they had gotten the gist of the plan decided, citing the need to use the bathroom while Misako brought the Bounty around so they could go as soon as they were ready.
“You ready for your first ninja mission?” Kai asked, his hand on Nya’s shoulder bringing her back to reality.
“I’ve been on ninja missions before, Kai.”
“Yeah, but that was Samurai X. This is different.”
“It can’t be that diffe-”
“Guys?!” Jay’s attention-grabbing yell echoed into the main room from outside, but before Nya could question why he was outside, she followed the others to where the call had come from, only to gasp when she saw the sight of a sickly, pale Lloyd lying unconscious in Jay’s arms as he added, “I don’t think he’s breathing.” ‘
He had been breathing, although it had been hardly noticeable to the naked eye, but those five words had sent the others into chaos while Zane, Kai and Wu had jumped into action to assess the situation.
Nya herself had been unable to move aside from the near automatic motion of helping Jay off of the ground; they hadn’t been together in awhile, but she would have been lying if she said that making sure he was okay wasn’t a reflex after all this time.
Even when Zane reported the scary words like “high fever” and “possible coma”, all Nya could focus on was the fact that he had started by telling them that he was alive. He was breathing, his heart was beating and there was zero indication of Morro inside of his body.
While she was relieved that Lloyd was safe with them, she was still annoyed that his arrival meant that she had been forced to the sidelines yet again when she had to stand her ground with Sensei in the first place to go with the boys to retrieve the realm crystal.
Knowing that Wu planned to shut down the tea shop indefinitely in order to pay Cyrus Borg to work on weapons against the ghosts, she didn’t worry about manning the desk for the closeout sale.
‘For all I know, Morro is on his way to fight me and finish Lloyd off.’
She knew that her thought process was morbid, but she couldn’t care enough to consider just how cynical she was; everyone else was allowed to go fight ghosts with very little elemental power to their name while she was a layer of security.
And if she kicked over one of the small displays in the front of the store out of pure frustration, Lloyd wasn’t anywhere close to awake so no one had to know.

So I wrote a fanfic. Umm yea
Words: 1236 (1,2k)
Characters: Zane and Cole
Ship: a little glacier, but it is kinda platonic
TW: self-harm, depression, mention of suicide.
Yea read at own risk I guess
I…I have been an android all this time… and I have never known.’’ Zane sits on his bed, staring at the blueprints of himself that he found less than an hour ago. ‘’Should I tell them?’’ he whispers to himself. ‘’I will tell them later, I must be focused on other things right now.’’ Zane stands slowly up, and hides the blueprint under his bed.
The only thoughts in Zanes head are about how he found out that he is just an android, nothing more and nothing less. When should he tell his friends, his brothers. Should he tell them, but what if they don’t like him anymore?
He walked out of the room, it was his turn to make dinner. Dinner, something that he did not need. He decided to just cook something easy, so he made rice and chicken. He called everyone just a minute or two before he finished cooking so they could put everything on the table.
Not even five minutes later everyone was eating and chatting. Except for Zane, he sat quietly on his chair and looked at his plate. The food looked so good, so pretty, and the smell of it was amazing, but he did not take a single bite. And about twenty minutes later Cole saw it ‘’Not hungry bro?’’ Cole asked with a worried voice. ‘’Not today I am afraid, I will be training now, i might be eating later, if that’s all right by you of course.’’ Zane said with a fake smile on his face. Cole accepted it, als long as he would eat something after.
Zane felt empty inside, the training that usually makes him feel happier didn’t do that today. He thought about how he was an android, many wires and switches on the inside that made him function. He didn’t want to live like this, not if he was just a robot with no purpose in life. He could just turn off his emotion or cut through a wire, it didn’t matter anyway.
It slowly became night and Zane took his blueprint outside, everyone would be sleeping soon and he didn’t want to wake anyone up. He was just planning on doing a few tests, like looking at what the switches did, and finding out what powered him. A few minutes had passed and he found an emotion switch, he flipped over and didn’t feel the emotional pain that he felt just a moment ago. It was relieving, but he had to flip it back, his brother would be confused about his behavior if he didn’t. So he flipped it back.
It hurt him a lot when he did, he wanted to scream, but he knew he could not do it. so he explored more of his metal body, the wires, so clean, so pretty. ‘’What if I cut them, just one?’’ he whispered to himself. And before he realized he did it, he cut one of his wires. It hurt and he knew it was bad but it felt so good. He should not be doing it, he was damaging himself. He tried to figure out what the damage did to him, it was not that bad, the only thing that happened is that his ring finger and pinky on his left hand stopped functioning. He decided that it was good for the day and went to bed.
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cole woke up due to noise from another room, he decided to get up because he had to anyway at some point. He put on a hoodie and jogging pants and walked out of the bedroom to see where the noise was coming from. It looked like the noise was coming from the kitchen, and when he came there he saw Zane just cooking breakfast.
‘’Hey Zane, why are you cooking breakfast already? It’s what, like five AM or something.’’ Cole said with a still tired voice ‘’Well’’ Zane said ‘’I was awake anyway so i thought it would be easier, sorry if I woke you up, I didn’t mean to.’’ He looked down at the food. He was making pancakes. ‘’Umm Zane, I see you are cooking, but you made only enough for four people.’’ Cole said, slightly confused. ‘’Correct, for you, Nya, Jay and Kai, I myself am not hungry yet, but do not worry, I will be eating later’’ Zane replied. ‘’You can talk to me if anything is wrong, okay?’’ and after Cole said those words he left the kitchen to get the others for breakfast.
While everyone was eating Zane was in his room, looking at the blueprint. He opened his stomach again and turned his emotions off. it felt better that way, no more thoughts about wanting to die, it was peaceful. He decided that he should turn his emotions on but he first wanted to cut one of his wires again. He knows it is bad, but it feels so good, too good. And before he knew he did it, he cut through a wire, and another wire, and yet another one, and then… He heard a knock on his door.
‘’Nonononononono’’ Zane said softly but stressed to himself. he quickly put a blanket over himself and asked ‘’Who’s there?’’ ‘’It’s me’’ said Cole while walking into the room ‘’How are ya doing Zane, everyone, including me of course, is worried about you’’ ‘’I umm’’ Zane was really nervous. Cole looked at the bed and saw something and picked it up out of curiosity. ‘’Huh, what is this?’’
‘’Cole put that down. Don’t you dare to look at it!’’ Zane got really stressed. Cole wasn’t allowed to see that, what if he hated Zane because of it? Cole didn’t listen. Zane could say what he wanted but it was too late, it didn’t matter anymore. Zane looked at the floor, he wanted to cry but he was unable to do so. He was scared, scared of what Cole would think, would say. And what if Cole told the others? It did not even matter anymore, it was too late anyway.
‘’Zane… what is all of this… I don’t understand’’ Cole was clearly confused but ZAne decided to speak the truth ‘’Cole as my friend you must know that.. I am an android.’’ He takes the blanket away but doesn’t look at Cole. ‘’Z-Zane.. What is this… why are those wires cut? you gotta fix this, we need to repair you! Should I call Jay?’’ ‘’N-no please don’t’’ Zane said softly ‘’can we keep this between us, just the two of us? I don’t want the others to know yet…’’ Cole nodded but he had to do something, his brother did need help, clearly.
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days have passed and a lot has changed. Zane cooks dinner more often but barely eats, He also stoppen sleeping since a two hour shut-down once a week is enough. And even though it took some time, Zane has finally accepted himself, and he wants to tell the others too about how he is inhuman, maybe Jay can do a better job in repairing him. He of course tried it himself, and it works, but it could be a lot better.
The ninja were shocked of course when they heard it, but they supported it, as they were brothers. Jay got Zane a good repair and everything was normal, or something close to normal since it is still Ninjago.
The end

Some Fan Story Fun Protagonists interviews: Creatures and Robotics
While working when stuck with writers block I sometimes would take a break and have a little fun writing down what I felt the characters thoughts would be on certain things in the story. Some give some minor spoilers but nothing too serious about the main story or events in the story. They are fun humorous little tidbits some of which helped me with working out some concepts in my story namely character relations. This one is on the creatures and Robotics of the Lost Realm:
Ancestor Wing
Tumblr media
Jay- I guess they’re not too bad. They are kind of cute and very friendly plus they eat bugs including the bad ones. They’re nice to have around especially at night when all the big freaky bugs come out.  Cole- They’re cute and real soft just be careful when petting them that you don’t accidently poke them in the eye. They don’t like that and will bite in defence and those little needle teeth of theirs can leave a pretty nasty bite.  Zane- Their looks are what others would consider adorable and their biology is quite interesting. They are capable of keeping both wing structures in synch while flying yet can move their arms independently from the winglets when moving on surfaces.  Nya- They are cute and their fun to feed from your hand. They’re so tame and gentle.  Lloyd- I find the mythology around these creatures interesting; that they can commune with and be messengers from those in the departed realm. I wonder if it’s true.  Kai- Their not too bad. I defiantly don’t mind having these around.  Aaron- They’re totally cool; soft, gentle, friendly and eat all the bad bugs who wouldn’t want these things around.  Axl- Did you know they can eat almost their own body weight in insects in a day! Sure they don’t weigh much but it still equals a lot of biting insects.  Clay- They are cute and very beneficial. They keep both crops and people safe from harmful insects, I get why the people treat them with such high respect.    Macy- They’re so cute you just want to hug them but you have to be careful. They have hollow bones like birds so you have to be careful not to hurt them.       Lance- Finally a creature that’s not creepy or annoying in this place.    Jestro- They are cute and very friendly.
Ash Walker
Tumblr media
Jay- Huge and can eat me no thanks.  Cole- They’re not too bad. Yha they’re big and kinda scary but surprisingly gentle.  Zane- Despite what some think they are surprisingly gentle and empathetic to others. They will aid and protect other animals even those who could hurt them. They have great respect for all living things.  Nya- Despite what Jay says they’re not bad. They’re actually kind of sweet. If their babies get too tired or can’t cross a river on their own the parents will let the babies ride on their backs. How can such a caring creature truly be a monster?  Lloyd- Yha they are nice and not too bad but they are a bit scary looking.  Kai- I guess they’re not too bad, I just worry about accidently getting stepped on by them.  Aaron- They’re pretty rad. They don’t mind if you take a ride or even nap on their backs. They apparently let animals do it in the wild all the time.  Axl- Big and powerful yet gentle and caring; I like them. They remind me of me.  Clay- Contrary to what some believe they haven’t had very many attacks or problems from these creatures even wild ones. The real biggest danger you have with being around these is being under the wrong end at the wrong time.  Macy- I like them, sure they’re big and moody but they’re not really that bad; no worse than Axl when he misses a meal.  Lance- Luckily they have people whose jobs are to clean up what these things drop around town. What they drop strangely doesn’t smell too bad but I still don’t want to get that stuff on me.  Jestro- They might not be bad but their size still kind of scares me.
Creatures of Blackreach
Tumblr media
Jay- Just more nightmare fuel. Dark glowing beasts that have no qualms with eating you and plant mutated zombie creatures controlled by mushrooms no thanks.  Cole- Some are kind of creepy yha like those Gloam-beasts but the others aren’t bad; kind of cool actually.  Zane- I find these all rather fascinating. The way they have adapted to a world without sunlight and dominated by fungi is rather intriguing. I would love to learn more about them and visit them and their home.  Nya- I guess the thought of creatures controlled by fungi is rather creepy but these things apparently aren’t as bad as you’d think. They don’t seem to have any desire to hurt others. They just want to protect their home I can respect that.  Lloyd- Yha it’s a little unnerving to think of but it actually doesn’t seem too bad. It might actually be interesting to see this place. I wonder if the fungi are annoyed by the caverns inhabitants eating them? Maybe they have some sort of symbiotic relation so don’t mind it.  Kai-I guess they’re not too bad, there could be worse things to come inhabit such a place.  Aaron- This place and its inhabitants seem so far out, I’d love to take a trip their and explore the place.  Axl- They don’t sound too bad so why are the people scared of them.  Clay- I get to come across one of these things in a dark place might be rather scary but I doubt they’re as scary as many proclaim.  Macy- How’s this whole controlled by fungi thing work? Is it some sort of magic or can it communicate with them in some way? Truly I’m more curious than scared of these things.  Lance- They sound cool but I don’t want to encounter these things in person. They probably are not very friendly and likely reek of an earthy rustic smell; I’m no fan of that.  Jestro- Even though many look like creatures above ground something about their dark with glowing markings appearance sounds kind of unsettling.
Insects
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jay-Why! Can’t bugs just stay smaller than sparrows for once? Then again even the little ones are kind of creepy here too. See through spiders, beetles that shock you in defence, mean crabs that make better deterrents than guard dogs, wasps that can burn you with a heat worse than Coles chilli do I need to go on? I guess though not all are bad. The Torchbugs are cute and those Rockipods aren’t too bad just be careful not to sit on them. It’s a bit embarrassing to fall off them when they curl up when you do that.  Cole- Yha quite a few are kind of creepy even if they don’t wish you harm but most aren’t too bad. I do kind of like those Torchbugs though. Rockipods are kind of cool too and very chill not to mention their shells are made of rock isn’t that cool. Don’t try to kick them like they’re a ball when they curl up though. As Kai found out those shells are rock hard, they’re a bit heavy even when they’re the size of a small dog so you can almost break your foot on them.  Zane- They’re not too bad. I don’t fear insects and find many just as fascinating as other animals but I just wish they would stop being attracted to my eyes. I keep accidently swallowing a couple of the small ones each day because they keep getting in my face especially when it’s not very bright out. It doesn’t feel or sometimes taste pleasant and those Shalk beetles really hurt. So do any species with spines, horns, large pincers or mandibles or other decorative or defensive structure. The noises of some like mosquitoes and flies near my ears are really annoying too. I do like the Torchbugs I just wish they wouldn’t be so interested in my eyes when it’s dark.  Nya- The big ones yha kinda creepy but some of the others aren’t bad. The Torchbugs are cute and the Lava moths rather pretty. The spiders I could go without. I wonder if those hornets are as hot headed as my brother; from what I’ve seen they seem like it. I wouldn’t doubt they are; I also wouldn’t doubt he’ll probably do something stupid around them and get stung. Just because they like the heat I don’t think they’re fans of fire. I won’t feel sorry for him if he gets stung, he probably will have done something to deserve it.  Lloyd- A lot of them are kind of unsettling yha especially when you find them hiding under things like your pillow. Sure I believe Zane that ant is harmless despite the spikes and horns and just scouting not wanting to hurt anyone but it still creeped me out. Thankfully he took it out of my bed and put it in the planter outside our room. How can he hold them without getting creeped out? Anyway not all of the insects are that bad or creepy though. Most beetles, crickets, grasshoppers, moths and butterflies aren’t too bad even if they are a bit big. The Roly-poly bugs aren’t bad and I do like the Torchbugs; it took some patients but I managed to get one to actually land on my hand. It was cute.  Kai- Not going to lie I’m not a big fan of bugs especially when their bigger than a songbird but I do like the glowing Torchbug, they’re kind of cool and those burning hornets are kind of cool they can wield fire just like I can. I wonder if that would make them see me as a sort of king or god to them? I should test it out. Also when these things are wearing a rock armour don’t try and give them a kick; I’ve never stubbed my toes so hard before.  Aaron- I don’t get why others are so creeped out by bugs. Sure they’ve got more limbs than we do but they’re not that bad; unless you accidently swallow one while speeding around on your hover shield that is. That’s not pleasant. Having them ping you in the face under the same circumstances isn’t pleasant either especially if they’re quite big. That can sting and not in a good way. Outside that they’re pretty chill and rad.  Axl- I guess they can be creepy especially the spiders but they’re not that bad, just don’t make them angry. Some have some pretty nasty powers and aren’t afraid to use them but aside from that most are pretty harmless. This is good cause then you can have some fun with them. That ninja Jay really gets spooked over a lot of the creepy crawlies. Me and Aaron like taking those little Embers Ants and spooking Jay with them. It’s funny to see his reaction to them especially when he finds them where he least expects them.  Clay- I’m not much for insects and yha some of these are creepy, defiantly the spiders and those big ants and their little cousins, but they’re really not that bad just creepy. Luckily most of them are generally easily to scare off even the spiders. Not all are bad or creepy. The butterflies and Torchbugs are pleasant and so are the Isopods. Even though they’re a bit creepy the little Ember Ants are harmless and a lot more even tempered than their large Spiny Ant relatives. It is a bit creepy though that you can find them hanging around everywhere in the city and people aren’t bothered by them even if you find them somewhere you don’t want to find them like in your bed, on the table while you’re trying to eat, in your helmet when you go to put it on... they do eat them here so I guess they’re not that bothered by them but it’s still unsettling. I guess it could be worse though. Other regions here have some that are much worse like sparrow sized mosquitoes, crocodile sized millipedes and bear sized spiders. Thank goodness we don’t have to go to those places.  Macy- Yha I’m not much of a fan for many insects especially spiders or things with too many legs like centipedes; millipedes and isopods aren’t too bad though. They’re not fast or as creepy looking as centipedes, they even look a little cute in that these are creepy crawlies but their nice and not too bad kind of way. Not all of them are bad or creepy and some here are nice and not too bad. The Torchbugs are cute and so are the moths. The little ants aren’t bad just more of annoying; gotta feel a little sorry for them. Some of us, you can probably guess who, have been using them to freak out that ninja Jay. Can’t be nice being used to scare someone like that.  Lance- Bugs ew no thank you; they’re gross always crawling around in the dirt and many have too many legs. It was funny though that one time Aaron collided with one of these Torchbugs while flying around it pinged him in the face and left a colourful glowing mark on his face for a few hours even though he had cleaned it off. I’m not sure why it was like that, the ninjas metal man said it was something to do with chemicals being absorbed into his skin or something I didn’t hear or understand much of what he said. It was a lot of science-y stuff I couldn’t care much about but how that ninja Jay reacted to it was hilarious. He acted all paranoid to Aaron for a while.  Jestro-I guess they’re not too bad; they’re not monsters just animals; well I’m not sure about spiders but the rest are just mostly harmless bugs even if they have strange powers like those shocky beetles. They really hurt. Sure some of them freak me out yha but they’re not too bad and the glowing torchbugs are pretty.
Ekhindahogs
Tumblr media
Jay- Finally one of the few species that isn’t mean, ugly, creepy, wants to eat me or dangerous; these are cute and so funny to watch.  Cole- Cute little burrowers with comical attitudes; plenty to love about them though they can be a nuisance. They have pretty tough claws so the town does have problems with them digging through the walls of the Under-city and peoples basements and getting into trouble.  Zane- They are cute and have a rather interesting biology and social structure. Apparently to combat the harshness of their environment they developed so that both males and females can care and feed the young so if one of the parents dies their offspring won’t risk dying either.  Nya- They are cute and enjoyable but that whole males giving milk like mothers I find kind of weird. Nice to see a species where dad plays such an important role as mom but still I find it a bit weird.  Lloyd- They’re cute and playful and it’s kind of relaxing watching them playing around. It must be nice being so carefree; I bet the fathers also have good relations with their sons… sorry did I say that sentence out loud?  Kai- They’re not too bad just watch where you sit when these are near. They might kick dirt in your hair while digging in planters… well I’m hoping it’s just dirt in those planters and not well you know; I hope they don’t fertilize with manure in those things or I’m going to need another shower.  Aaron - First off the milk thing is kind of weird second they don’t lie about that venom; I didn’t mean to startle that one during training… man that sting was nasty. Felt like having the worst case of pins and needles ever combined with all your muscles being pulled at the same time! My leg was paralysed from the pain!  Axl- I like them. They’re not very soft and those beaks have a surprisingly strong bite but they’re overall enjoyable to have around.  Clay- They are cute but can be troublesome. A pair somehow got into our room and tried to make off with my shield. I can’t have that; a knight should never lose their shield.  Macy-They are cute but don’t let that fool you, they can be real troublesome especially when in groups and they want some of your lunch. I think they know their considered cute and use that to get lots of treats.  Lance- I found a social media page dedicated to these things that has way more followers than I do; how’s that possible? Sure they’re cute but can they act or pose no… though looking at these photos and videos I kinda see the appeal. Maybe I should add some pictures of these with me to my social media pages.  Jestro- They aren’t too bad but those quills hurt when they get stuck in you.
Fabricants
Tumblr media
Jay- Combining dangerous animals with dangerous machinery; why would you want to create such monsters!  Cole- The thought of them is kind of strange. Do the creatures know and understand they are now half robotic? How do they feel about their situation?  Zane- I find them intriguing. I can understand them and what they have to say is interesting. Some understand what they have become, others aren’t too sure. They know they’re different but they all love what they’ve become. They feel it improves their life and lets them view the world with a deeper understanding making them deeper in aware to the beauty of the world around them. They also enjoy that they can now play with and take advantage of the machines people make. One of those for the training arena apparently has learned to hack vending machines to get treats from it.  Nya- I find them interesting; I wonder what inspired their creators to merge animals with machines and how did they do it? It can’t be an easy process.  Lloyd- They’re kind of cool but also a bit unnerving, those Venom-fang ones especially are creepy looking especially in the dark.  Kai- Animals merged with technology, something about that I find very unsettling. Maybe it’s because I don’t understand technology very well but they kind of creep me out.  Aaron- I think they’re cool. Did you know their cybernetics give them the ability to play video games? Imagine giving your pet that ability, you know how much fun you could have!  Axl- They kind of sound cool but also very dangerous.  Clay- Animals with the calculating and precise thoughts and movements of machines. That sounds like a dangerous combo to me. Hopefully they have measures in place to keep them from causing harm and chaos.  Macy- Sounds like a cool concept they’d probably make for good training partners but they can also hack into your phone when you’re not aware of it. Imagine your pet being able to tattle on you when you plan to sneak out for a party?  Lance- Why not just make the machines into animals in the first place instead of merging them with animals? You just make them smelly and drooly that way.  Jestro- Is it just me or does anyone else get goose-bumps from the thought of these things?
Fear
Tumblr media
Jay- It’s in the name that’s how I feel about this thing!  Cole- Yha I’m not too keen on ever encountering one of these. Good thing they’re technically extinct.  Zane- While I may be a bit more resistant to damage than the others to attacks by this thing I still would not do well against it and likely receive fatal damage from it.  Nya- Yha I can see why they would give it the name they did. It probably wasn’t pleasant dealing with these things when they were around.  Lloyd- I think for things like this it is one of the few times I’m glad to hear something’s extinct.  Kai- big, lots of teeth and sharp clawed dangerous reptile no thanks. Let them stay as fossils.  Aaron- I’d want to say add the term less to its name and that’s how I’d feel about meeting one of these but that would be a lie.  Axl- Just the name of this thing unnerves me.  Clay-Luckily we won’t have to worry about facing one of these, I don’t think we’d do to well against one.  Macy- I wonder who the brave warriors to take these things out were. They must have been pretty tough to face one.  Lance- big nasty and drooly reptile, no thanks. Good thing this monster is extinct.  Jestro- Good thing these are extinct. I saw a stuffed one in the museum and nearly wet myself. It mustn’t have been nice having these around.
Hoofivore
Tumblr media
Jay- It’s not a bug or reptile but I still find it a bit scary; it is after all a massive meat eating animal that could eat me. It’s sad what happened to them though.  Cole- These things actually sound so nice. They bond for life and are caring parents. They even look cute like giant horned dogs. Why would those snakes want to hurt them like that?  Zane- These creatures sound rather pleasant, it is sad that they are now so endangered all because of one races hatred to another.  Nya- Poor things, hopefully they can bring them back.  Lloyd- It’s a good thing what they are doing for this species considering what was done to them.  Kai-That’s not right attacking innocent animals just to spite other people.  Aaron- That wasn’t cool of these snake people to hunt down these creatures purely out of hatred.  Axl- Poor things, hopefully things get better for them.   Clay- Does the cruelty of some people know no bounds? At least now these creatures are in good hands.  Macy- I hope they taught these snakes a lesson for their actions.  Lance- Why would these snake people go after these creature? What purpose would wiping them out honestly have?  Jestro- Just because these creatures weren’t on their side didn’t mean they had to be destroyed, that’s a pretty monstrous act and I should know. I’ve worked with monsters.
Hyenoids
Tumblr media
Jay- This will probably upset Zane but no thanks, they should just scrap these things.  Cole- I’m not sure what to think of these things. They’re not Zane that’s for sure but are they really the monsters everyone claims they are?  Zane- Why does everyone hate them? Haven’t they ever tried to get to know them? I doubt they’re truly the monsters everyone says they are. They’re not mindless machines; they are thinking feeling living beings just like animals and people.  Nya- I think we’ll need to be guarded with Zane around these things. I don’t think he fully understands they’re not like him. These ones were created for evil and don’t share his views or values. They are likely no more than monsters.  Lloyd- I find these things very worrisome. I’m pretty sure they’ll see a kinship towards Zane and may try to get him to join them. Given who they serve that would be a very bad thing.  Kai- No offense to Zane but I don’t like these things simple as that.  Aaron- They sound cool but at the same time worrisome; they’re very dangerous and might want to turn the ninjas cyber-bro to their side. That could be a very bad thing given what they serve. Even if they aren’t inherently evil they serve a monster who is.  Axl- I think we should try to avoid these things as much as we can; I don’t like the sounds of them.  Clay- We shouldn’t trust these things. From what I’ve been told the ninja are having a bit of trouble with their droid brother becoming over trusting to these things. That could be very bad.  Macy- From what we’ve heard these things are very unsettling; defiantly nothing like our friendly and helpful Squirebots.  Lance- The town should capture a bunch of these things and change their programming to make them servants then maybe the place wouldn’t be so peasenty… then again with this Stag thing around how would you be able to trust these things wouldn’t want them to enslave you or worse. Maybe they should just leave these things in the wild.  Jestro- Monstrous machines so human like you can’t tell the difference between them and people; does that sound a little unsettling to anyone else? How do I tell who’s who? I don’t want to fall to this monstrous leader of theirs; I’m done with the being evil kind of life.
Kaguar
Tumblr media
Jay- Scary looking reptilian like beaked tusked cows; I’m not sure what to think about that but it does seem weird.  Cole- I like them, they taste like beef and I hear their meat is healthier than cows meat.  Zane- They are very helpful creatures and materials from them don’t taste too bad and are rather healthy you just have to be careful with those tusks; I hear they have been known to disembowel droids with them. I find that kind of unsettling.  Nya- They’re not bad, they kind of smell odd but you won’t notice a difference between their milk and meat and a cows.  Lloyd- Just pretend they’re a strange breed of cow and they don’t seem so alien even though they don’t sound like cows or look anything like them.  Kai- They may taste like cows but they ain’t docile like them. When they flaunt those tusks at you don’t take that as a sign that their showing off. That means they’re mad, trust me I found out the hard way.  Aaron- A cool looking mix between some reptile and a cow plus you can eat them. Not a bad creature.  Axl- I found some good recipes for their meat if you’re interested.   Clay- They’re not bad and useful but something about how they look at you when you walk by makes me uneasy. They look angry all the time.  Macy- Compared to some of the other things people keep as livestock these are one of the less strange.  Lance- Others can use such rustic methods of travel like these I’ll stick with my mecha-steed thank you.  Jestro- I guess they’re not too bad even though they’re kind of scary to look at.
Parrot Cruncher
Tumblr media
Jay- I guess they wouldn’t be too bad and be rather cute if it wasn’t for their venom, those quills and their strong nut cracking parrot beaks. Luckily they usually won’t bite with their full force on you with those but I’m not going to take the risk. They can bite with enough force to break your arm!  Cole- They’re not too bad though very annoying if they try to steal your lunch. I think they know they have a venom that messes with us cause they don’t have much fear to people even wild ones. Trust me if they take your lunch just let them have it. Just touching them will make the parts you touch them with go numb and you lose functioning to them which can mean a full body paralysis if you try to wrestle them to get your lunch back.  Zane- It’s creepy to have venoms affect me. I can feel the stuff mess with my programming when it contacts my nervous system. I’m not sure how it is affecting me, I think it’s some sort of magical effect, but it’s very unsettling and I am unfortunate to not benefit from anti-venom shots so I have to suffer the full effects of the venom for its full time. It’s not pleasant.  Nya- In ways they’re cute but I think their dangers really hinder their cuteness especially if you’ve dealt with their venoms. It’s very unpleasant and removing those quills is pretty hard especially when you have to pull them out of a droid. You have to wear gloves when touching the quills and they can easily get stuck in metal.  Lloyd- Cute but rather annoying. We’ve all had the unpleasant misfortune of getting affected by their venom and quills at least once while here. Most of them were by accident usually from training though Cole kind of asked for his the one time when he tried to wrestle it to get his lunch back from it.  Kai- Yha the venoms not too nice but at least it’s not lethal and wears off quicker than you’d think about four to five hours. Truly that’s not too bad. The creatures aren’t too bad themselves and very passive. Unless they feel threatened they won’t attack.  Aaron- Their pretty cool; they’re like someone mixed a parrot with a capybara then gave it quills like a porcupine. They like to chew like all three animals too. These creatures have a habit of chewing up wooden items to keep their beaks trim. The towns taken to making all important posts and signs within these creatures reach out of metal to keep them from chewing them up.  Axl- While they eat largely plant matter like fruits, vegetables, leaves and stuff like that they do and will eat meat. They’ll eat smaller animals, carrion and bugs. Luckily they are very food orientated so you can use that to herd them away from where they aren’t supposed to be so you don’t have to actually touch them.  Clay- As far as the creatures in this place go these ones aren’t too bad; yha the venoms annoying to work with or around but they aren’t too big and while annoying the venom isn’t lethal. Quite a few people like to keep these as pets. They’re apparently very dog like in temperament. If you want to keep them as pets though you have to get their venom sacks removed or you can’t really touch them and they will leave traces of their venom all around your house.  Macy- They’re kind of cute, probably would be cuter if it wasn’t for the fact that you can’t touch them without getting poisoned. Sure it won’t kill you but the poisonings not fun. Imagine needing to scratch your nose but having both your arms paralysed. It’s not fun.  Lance- Not a fan of the venom but at least it doesn’t mess with your looks. It sure doesn’t feel pleasant though, I prefer to just sleep it off unlike some who try to fight it. You should remember though if you’re going to pass out from the poison do so behind a locked door where others can’t get you; I’m still pretty mad about what Axl and Aaron did leaving me on a bench in the Under-city like that. It took hours to fully clean off all the makeup and markers people drew on me with!  Jestro- They are cute and friendly but someone should have told me of their venom. I hadn’t read the book yet and Lance told me they were safe to pet; he purposely messed with me. It was scary when I lost feeling and use in my hand.

Jay- Cute, Playful and friendly but loud defiantly loud! They wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t loud and full of attitude and if they couldn’t guilt you into giving them things; they especially love food. They also love to watch TV and when you play video games just don’t let them near the controllers cause they’ll chew off the buttons.  Cole- Cute but watch out for that bite. They can crack coconuts with it so you don’t want them using it on you when they’re mad. They can also chew up a wooden chair in around 20 minutes if you let them. Also unless you want to give some of what you’re eating or hear an earful then don’t eat around them. They’ll beg for food and if they don’t get any they somehow give these really sad eyes or will throw a tantrum and yell… I had to share a sugar cookie with one. They can’t really pull off facial expressions but somehow it gave me such a sad look I just had to give it a piece. I felt guilty for not sharing with it.  Zane- They are what many would consider cute along with entertaining, caring, intelligent and emotional creatures who enjoy being a part of the family. They are defiantly an enjoyable species though loud at times and have surprising mimicry abilities. Thought I kept hearing some of the others phones ringing the other day even when they weren’t around for over an hour turned out it was one of these just messing with me; I know it was messing with me because it laughed when I caught it in action.  Nya- Cute, playful and friendly defiantly one of the more enjoyable creatures here and I’d have to agree with Jay they can be quite loud and are full of attitude. Trust me if they’re being loud or moody don’t yell back at them. They’ll just get louder and start throwing things at you and you don’t want them to bite you.  Lloyd- I like these. They’re cute, friendly, family orientated, caring and playful. It’s enjoyable to watch them play together. Did you know they have a noise just for play that gets everyone in the mood to play? You should be careful though they are quite destructive. They’re playing often involves tearing things apart and causing mayhem and they like to steal things especially if there’s food involved. I’ve even heard of them breaking into people’s homes to steal things and cause mayhem.   Kai- I can defiantly see the appeal to these creatures. They are cute and entertaining but loud and messy. They like to play with your hair for some reason and enjoy stealing things so keep an eye on your belongings… had to distract them with some food to recover my phone the other day.  Aaron- These are fun and rad looking but their loud calls waking you up while you sleep is so unpleasant. I think they do it on purpose too, I’m pretty sure I heard some of them laugh when they did it.  Axl- They’re so friendly you can get the more tame ones in the city to eat rate out of your hand. They love peppers, apples, watermelon, corn rate off the cob, potatoes and chicken. I heard they’ve actually on rare occasions been known to hunt chickens; they must really love chicken.  Clay- These are cute and enjoyable to have around but you can’t let them distract you when you’re working. I will admit it is a bit hard to stay focussed when they’re playing near you especially when they are in groups. Somehow they know how to catch your attention and if you’re not careful get you involved. While I was watching two play fighting another stole my shield and took it into a tree. I went to retrieve it then it dropped down and started running around with it. The other two joined it and they played a game of keep away with me for longer than I would like to admit… around thirty minutes. Even worse it was in public, it was embarrassing.   Macy- Their so cute you just want to hug them. I hear though that’s a bad idea. They are quite nippy and can do a lot of damage with those beaks. They also apparently don’t take kindly to being hugged unless they want to be. They’re very opinionated creatures.  Lance-They are cute but they don’t like to have their pictures taken and can be quite rude; most of the pictures I got of them are them trying to bite the camera or giving me their butts!  Jestro- They’re so funny and adorable I get why they are sometimes called the jesters of the wastes. If only I could be as good at entertaining as them then maybe everyone wouldn’t think I was a failure.

Jay- Floaty leathery jellyfish things; sure their relatively harmless but they still creep me out. I think it’s because of how they just float there kind of mindlessly and they have no eyes and the noodly tentacles, the glowing bits which make it creepier in the dark like all you see is their glowing markings just floating in the dark… that’s so unsettling! I’m not scared of them just more of creeped out by them. They apparently have smaller relatives you can find in some swampy forests, some caves and places underground. I don’t know if shrinking these things would make them less or more creepy. Cole- What do I say other than they just confuse me; they’re apparently some sort of Jellyfish, I can kind of see the relation a bit but other than that they just confuse me and I think I’m with Jay in that how they just float around is weird and unsettling. Their kind of mindless too like regular jellyfish and just randomly float around eating bugs especially flying ones like flies and the plant debris off the floor. They don’t seem to have much going on in their brains though they don’t have a brain… I guess that explains why they’re so mindless. Zane- These things are very confusing. How are they staying in the air without wings or artificial forms of propulsion? How are they staying a float and how do they keep from floating away? I get their tail helps them move but they have no eyes at least I cannot see any though apparently they do have photoreceptor cells, the structures in organic organisms that are precursors to eyes. They apparently have quite a few of these in their head region. Is that how they navigate? If not then how do they sense the world around them? Can they sense it much? They don’t have a brain so can’t sense the world like we can. They can’t be made or share a similar anatomy to jellyfish despite relations because a jellyfishes anatomy cannot survive outside water so what are they made of and how do they work? They are cool but all that is confusing about them un-nerves me. Even though it is a bit creepy how they just float around is kind of relaxing and calming to watch. Nya- So they’re like air jellyfish; I guess that’s not too bad. They’re not venomous like normal jellyfish so it won’t hurt you to bump into them or have the tentacles touch you; they can however produce electricity to shock anything they consider a threat so you have to be careful around them. Luckily they are rather docile but yha they’re kind of creepy; especially during a dark night. Strangely these things will also go underwater sometimes; I don’t know how they do it. They’d probably have to eat a bunch of rocks to counter the rising effect that lets them float unless they have some sort of magic that lets them do that. Lloyd- Yha something about them is unsettling yet strangely relaxing; seeing them floating in the dark yha very creepy but watching them mindlessly float around during the day can be oddly calming. I know they’re harmless but I just can’t get myself to get close to them. You know they made some of our armour from their skin. It doesn’t seem any different from normal leather. It stretches more than normal leather and apparently has some resistance to elemental magic. Other than that it’s no more different than regular leather. Kai- In one word they’re strange. Jellyfish like creatures that float in the air and can be just as sparky as Jay. Even stranger they farm them here. Not as food since their meat is poisonous to humans and will make droids sick but for their skin to make leather and this jelly that they use to make paralysis poisons. Apparently it’s not easy to farm them. Hard to contain something that can float away and they can wield electricity like Jay making them hard to work with. Truly I don’t see why they would bother with that. Did I also mention they can be creepy to look at especially in the dark? Aaron- I would say they are cool if they didn’t confuse me so much; all that confusing just makes me a bit nervous about them. I can tell you though accidently flying into them is not nice. They’re not as soft and squishy as jellyfish, that’s thanks to the armour plating and some internal hard parts that help their bodies retain their shapes without water to support them. Those though are not what makes hitting into them bad. Luckily they’re not venomous but that shock they can give you is pretty wicked, not as bad as Jays when he panic shoots you with a bolt of lightning but still it hurts pretty bad. Axl- How can something pretty harmless with not much of a brain that looks like a balloon made of leather be so creepy? If the floating isn’t unsettling enough seeing them floating in the dark where all you see is their glowing markings is even worse. Even weirder they are like insects and are attracted to lights which can be very unnerving to see these things suddenly float up out of the dark to come bump into the lights. Luckily the big ones usually won’t show up to your porch but they have a smaller relative that’s no bigger than a large pigeon found near swampy regions here that will and it’s more decorative with more glowing spots than the big ones so they’re even creepier to see in and float out of the dark. Clay- Yha I’m not sure what to think of these. Defiantly seeing them in the dark is creepy and the floating is weird. Their whole anatomy is confusing too. They are pretty passive at least so that’s nice. They could be worse. I hear these things have small pint sized cousins in some mountainous areas known as Sky Lamps that are parasitic feeding off others like mosquitoes and have a set of sharp spear like tentacles to help them grip their victims. I would not want to encounter those. Macy- Yha even after being here a while I still find them creepy particularly at night. A lot of the natives don’t mind them I guess they’re used to them though most from regions where these things and their relatives aren’t found feel the same as us; creeped or unsettled by them. They’re at last passive, if they weren’t they probably wouldn’t be very pleasant to have around. They at least can be humorous at times such as when they float into a clothesline or decorative light strand and get them stuck on them as they float around. Lance- Apparently this creepy floating jelly thing has a jelly they harvest that can be used as a decorative hair gel. It can give your hair a colourful glow in the dark. Sounds interesting but the extreme numbness, strange tingling feelings like someone’s sending electricity through your skin, some get rashes and have their hair fall out and the possibility of paralysis you can end up feeling from or having using it will have me steering clear of it. It sounds cool but I would rather not risk the possible effects. Who knows what damage they could do to my looks. Jestro- Weird and a bit creepy, the fact they can shock you with those tentacles makes them even more unnerving. Did you know the Ashers think these are a delicacy; obviously they must be immune to their poisons. The meat is poisonous. They like to force their prisoners to eat a tiny bit of this or anything else that will make you sick or weak to weaken them so they won’t fight back. Trust me that isn’t pleasant.

Jay- Nothing against Zane but conscious calculating machines no thank you! You know most of the types don’t have eyes that can blink; they could secretly be watching you whenever you least expect them too! That young knight Robin found one of the snake ones and fixed it up and I found it the one day on a shelf in the main room. He claims he just left it there earlier and it was inactive but I swear there was light in its eyes and it was watching me slowly moving its head to keep an eye wherever I went! Cole- Yha these things are a bit unsettling but they’re not evil or monsters like what some think. They’re just machines. Whether their as special as Zane or not I’m not sure, most of them probably not; they’re really simple compared to my buddy but that doesn’t make them evil besides I’m pretty sure I’d side with them on some things. If I had a stranger walking into my house uninvited yha I’d attack them too especially if they’re there to take things without my consent.   Zane- I get they are kind of unsettling but they are not evil. They just want to protect their homes so why does everyone hate them? I know they are not as advanced or special as me, some largely the militant ones, are barely more than machines but they still don’t deserve to be hated so much. They are just doing what they were made to do how does that make them evil? Why do humans hate things that aren’t truly human… I’ve never done anything wrong to the people here so why do they see me as an evil machine like these things? Nya- They’re cool but they’re also dangerous and unpredictable. We should be very cautious with these things. Many were designed to protect their homes and masters even if their main purposes were in other tasks so they come with some pretty serious defensive abilities. Despite what Zane thinks these things aren’t like him. Generally they’re way more simple than him and I don’t think they’ll consider him an ally at least not on first sight. He shouldn’t be as trusting to them as he is; that could prove dangerous. These things can hurt him just as much as they can to the rest of us. Also on record I don’t think they’re spying on us like Jay thinks; I think he’s just a little paranoid there. Lloyd- In general these things kind of unnerve me. The fighting ones I defiantly wouldn’t want to get in a fight with them but those little ones the snake, beetle and rat ones are scarier. They’re stealthy and they can be there without you realising they are there… I think I’m with Jay a bit here that some of them like to watch us. That Serpeton Robin has I found under my pillow once and I saw it sneaking behind me trying to remain hidden once. Even creepier I once woke up in the middle of the night and saw it curled onto the bedpost staring down at me... that was very unsettling. Kai- Me and technology don’t get along very well, odd cause me and Zane get along pretty fine then again he’s special, very special and he’s nothing like these things. These things are very simple, some of them are kind of animal like, they are no way as smart, they don’t really have feelings at least I don’t think they do… that snake one Robin has though was acting all dramatic once when I wouldn’t let follow me to the bathroom when I went to have a shower. I had to let it in to keep it from drawing attention… it just wanted to sit on a counter and watch me do my hair and brush my teeth… it was creepy. Anyway they’re dangerous and unnerving so I’m no fan of them. Aaron- Sure they’re dangerous but so is a blender and you don’t see people freaking out and hating those when they get hurt by them. That makes me wonder maybe if these metal dudes gave you a milkshake or smoothie before tossing you out of their home then maybe people wouldn’t be so scared of them. Anyway personally I think their pretty cool and their danger makes them cooler. Axl- They’re kind of cool and can be very helpful when programmed right, that one Robin found can be very helpful. If you need help finding something it can find it for you though it might not have the strength to bring it to you. A can of pop sure it can handle that, your axe when you misplace that yha that’s too heavy for it. Even though they can be helpful something about them still unnerves me. Clay- I get they’re not inherently evil but it’s easy for dark forces to sway what they want and some of these things are easily corrupted by dark forces. We should be careful with them. I’ve asked Robin to keep that Serpeton he found and refurbished shut down when it is not in use and I trust his word that he is doing so but somehow it keeps ending up active and somehow sometimes the best I could describe it as is observing us. Even odder it’s locked up at night yet Lloyd has told me he has seen it in their room at night… maybe he was just seeing things if not I’m scared to think of how and why that thing was out. Macy- I guess they wouldn’t be too bad if it wasn’t for the fact they can easily be controlled by dark forces and are pretty tough combatants. They can defiantly give you a work out and a scare. Came back into our room the one day after having a shower and Robins little snake one he found was sitting on the dresser in our room staring at me. It wasn’t there before and it seemed to watch everything I did. That’s kind of creepy. Lance- A living machine that can burn my hair off by spitting fire from its face no thanks plus these things have brains that can connect to technology like your phone or tablet right. Do you know what kind of damage they could do by hacking your devices… especially to your social media profiles! That would explain why that robo-snake Robin has was playing with my phone the one day and how some of my selfies ended up with those fake moustaches and paintings on them. Did that thing think those were funny? I wonder if Ava could program something to keep that thing from hacking my stuff. Jestro- I don’t know they kind of unsettle me. How can you tell when they’re actually sleeping or if they’re pretending to spy on you? I’m pretty sure the others are using the snake one Robin has to keep an eye on me. I’ve seen it following and watching me wherever I go.

Jay- Garbage eating scavengers with bone crushing jaws not to mention they sound scary, are bold for wild animals, just as stubborn as Kai, as possessive of their foot as Cole, just as resilient as Zane and people want to keep them as pets?! Why? Why would you want one of these? They’ll try to rip each other’s ears off when they’re mad at each other, they rarely get infections no matter how many or how bad the scratches and bites they get are and even when young they fight each other just to get fed by their mother. Why would you want such a creature for a pet?  Cole- I don’t think they’re that bad. They’re just animals not monsters. Sure they sound a bit scary especially when you hear them fighting at night and they’re hot headed like Kai but other than that they’re actually pretty nice unless they have food. I don’t blame them though for that, I’m not going to let others near my food either. Well maybe I’ll let Zane near it cause he won’t take everything if I offer him some unlike some others. Offered Jay some cake once and he left me a sliver of it! Yha I get why these creatures will bite your fingers off for taking their food, I’d do it too especially if you take most of it when I said you could only have a small piece!  Zane- These creatures are not that bad. Much of their supposed aggressive behaviours are over exaggerations due to dislike of the creatures. They get a bad rap because their lifestyle and appearance does not match with what humans find cute or desirable but when you look past what people don’t like about them you will find there is plenty to love about these creatures. They are kind, very intelligent, actually quite gentle most of the time and quite caring especially to family members. They’ve even been known to come to the aid of others of their kind when they need it and will aid their injured companions. They’re fighting is used to establish dominance and in truth is no more aggressive than many other social carnivores.  Nya- You’d think for an animal that will eat anything even dead and rotting things would smell bad but they actually don’t smell any worse than a cat or dog. They actually like to keep rather clean and enjoy bathing and relaxing in water. Also Jay thinks their fighting while kids makes them unpleasant, obviously having never grown up with a sibling he doesn’t get that yha sometimes you’ve got to fight with your siblings when you want something. There’s nothing wrong with that it’s normal. Lots of siblings do it both human and animal.  Lloyd- At first they seem intimidating especially when you get them in a group but after a while you’ll see they’re not that bad well except when food is around but even then they’re not too bad; they’re no worse than Cole when he’s hungry and you bring food around. Especially if it is cake; I think Cole beats the creatures there especially if you take too much of it or don’t ask before taking some. Anyway they’re not as bad as many make them out to be.  Kai- Will eat anything and gets cranky around food, are we sure we’re talking about this creature and not Cole :).  Aaron- I don’t care what others think I think these little critters are quiet rad. I wouldn’t mind having one as a pet. I hear they’re actually quite good pets like a weird cross between a cat and a dog. They’re easily trained, love boxes and things to scratch and chew, they’ll play fetch and follow you around and they can also use a litter box. They are though apparently hard to keep out of places you store food when they’re hungry; that’s no different from dealing with Axl.  Axl- Why is getting moody around food a bad thing? I get their mood I wouldn’t want someone touching my dinner when I’m trying to eat either.  Clay- Truly they’re not bad. Defiantly a bit of a nusciance especially when some leave food and garbage lying around because they won’t pick up after themselves, I won’t say names but they know who I’m talking about. They left the parts of our meal one night that they refused to touch because they found it too gross and peasenty in his words to eat anything made with bugs on a table in the common room. It drew in a pair of these which I had to remove. Every time I took one out the other just rushed back in, I had to get Macy to help me remove them because he refused to fix the problem he had made not wanting to touch or get close to the creatures.  Macy- Yha not really dangerous or bad; really not much differently from feral cats. Luckily you can grab them on their scruffs to keep them from biting, scratching and squirming just like cats. Really helpful when you have to move them from places they’re not supposed to be like in the living quarters after someone won’t clean up after himself.  Lance- They may be clean but they still eat dead and rotting things including things that had some pretty nasty diseases. I’d rather not get close to something like that. Sure they’re immune to the diseases but I’m not and I’d rather not catch something especially if it messes with my looks and they have a few of those here.  Jestro- I feel for them. They get hated just for doing their thing and being themselves. I know what that’s like… it’s not nice.

Jay- I guess they’re not too bad. Friendly and playful, they are cute especially the babies but they are loud though, sometimes very loud, and their nimble fingers can get into a lot of things. Watch your pockets when they’re around, they like to steal candies and cookies. Cole- They’re cute and very friendly; I get why people like them and why they like to feed them even though the city officials don’t want you to. They don’t want to encourage the creatures to be too friendly or become dependent on people for their survival. It’s fun and rather relaxing to interact with them though. Their faces kinda look like a ducks and like ducks people like to feed them bread. That however is not the recommended thing to feed them though. It’s bad for their health and the environment. Zane- They defiantly are highly curious, a little too curious sometimes. One found the control panel in my arm and kept trying to play with it. I was not comfortable with that. Thankfully Cole got it distracted by handing out some bread for them to feed on. Nya- They are cute but you shouldn’t let that fool you. They are very mischievous and seem to enjoy getting into trouble which can be really annoying. The town has a bit of a problem with them chewing through things especially wooden items and measures to discourage them never work. They’re smart enough to find ways around them. I also found spraying them with water doesn’t discourage them from their mischief, in fact they like that. Lloyd- I love how they are very family orientated with everyone helping each other though they also cause mischief together. One stole my phone while I was petting one of them. It distracted me so its family member could steal my phone! Zane managed to get it back for me though it found out about the panel in his arm and kept bothering and messing with him through it. Luckily Cole was able to get it to leave him alone. Kai- They are cute but can also be very annoying especially when they keep trying to steal your food and I found they aren’t affected by hot sauce so dousing your food in that won’t stop them from stealing it. Aaron- These little things are quite rad. You know they can swing through the branches using both their arms and tail to grab branches; pretty cool huh! Axl- These things are crafty. They know they can trick people into giving them food by taking things from you. They also know how to break into things like coolers, rubbish bins, sheds even people’s homes! Clay- They wouldn’t be too bad if it wasn’t for the mischief they like to cause. That one Ghidorah found Robins Mini-trex and began playing with it even with Merlok still on it. He drove it around the hall in the bedrooms and crashed it into one of the planters. He gave Merlok quite the scare. Macy- Don’t let their cuteness fool you. They’re loads of trouble. If they can get into trouble they’ll do it. I’ve heard some of those hear describe them as eternal toddlers with pliers for faces. Seeing what they can do and the mischief they can cause I can see why they say that. Lance- Their not bad and you can take selfies with them. People here like seeing selfies with them. I think the creatures like it too. They seem to enjoy being the center of attention. They also like to try and groom your hair; I wouldn’t mind it if they had clean hands. I’ve seen what they do and handle with those paws of theirs. I don’t want that in my hair! Jestro- They’re fun and funny to play with and they don’t seem to mind my comedy routines in fact they seemed amused by them. They also like to play keep away with anything you drop while juggling and they will bite if you try to get it back without bargaining with food.

Venom-fang
Tumblr media
Jay- Fast, agile bird lizards with a lethal venom. How can people feel safe with these things around? At least they have anti-venom shots for these. I carry two on me at all times. One for me and one for Nya; she doesn’t think it’s necessary but I think she misjudges the danger of these things. Their venom can hurt Zane; you know it’s bad when it can hurt him! Cole- Honestly you see a picture of them and they don’t look too bad but to experience them first hand is something else and that venom… you don’t even realise you were bit and are hallucinating. Zane- I don’t like how their venom can mess with my mind and senses and worse I could not even tell it was affecting me. Worse to prevent problems the others had to clean the venom out of damages they left in me and I accidently gave Nya a black eye… I didn’t mean to I thought she was a bear trying to tear me apart. Then again it wasn’t much of my fault she and Jay should have waited for the venoms effects to wear off before helping me. Nya- I get Jays fears but I don’t think we need to be carrying these anti-venom shots all the time. Yha these creatures are a bit scary especially the strange reflective quality to the stripe on their sides in the dark but unless we give them a reason to attack I don’t think they will. Also when some ones affected by their venom wait for it to wear off before helping them; you could get hurt from their hallucination especially when they have metal skin and bones. Lloyd- If it wasn’t for what they can do and how creepy they look in the dark they could be cool. Having to deal with the aftermath of their venoms isn’t a pleasant or easy affair either. After they got poisoned by that session in the arena with the maze Zane gave Nya a black eye and Cole started eating the wooden table coasters to put cups on in the main hall thinking they were cookies. It was not easy keeping both under control. Kai- Yha something using hallucinating venom that also turns out to be lethal no thanks; I’m going to steer clear of these things; very clear. The hallucinations however were funny to see especially Aaron when he got bit that one training session. He gets even more crazy and a bit wild like a cat on catnip with that stuff. I managed to trick him into biting Jay and his panicking afterwards was priceless. He thought he was going to get whatever curse he believes Aaron has and made Merlok and Clay hit him with a bunch of spells to cure him. Lance has gotten footage of all those that have been infected by these venoms, I’m goanna get some copies of those; they’ll be fun to have. Aaron- Yha I’m a fan of extreme beasts but these are something I feel are best admired from a distance. I’ve experienced quite a few of the venoms from the creatures from this place all were unintentional despite what that ninja Jay thinks and man they are not pleasant. The hallucinating effects of some like these guys is not a pleasant feeling, it really messes with your head. Axl- Trust me they may be small but they’re no less nasty than the bigger guys especially when they’re in a group and with that venom, it was not pleasant. Clay- Despite how dangerous they are and the problems their venoms create these creatures don’t often attack people and when they do it is strictly because their hungry not to be evil. That being said they are not creatures to mess with. They are very dangerous and that venom can really mess with people. That stuff had Axl thinking Aaron was a were-wolf for several hours, I think some of Jays paranoia influenced that. He kept trying to muzzle Aaron so he wouldn’t bite anyone and kept trying to get Merlok to cure him. Aaron was not pleased by the activity nor Axl constantly trying to lock him in a dog cage when he kept removing the muzzle. He bit Axl to scare him and that worked too well. He locked himself in a dog cage the rest of the time thinking he would become a were-wolf. Macy- Yha they’re dangerous but they’re just animals not monsters. You make a lot of noise and wave a weapon or even just a stick around and they flee. Sometimes a couple good whacks to their hides helps drive them off. No special weapons or Nexo Powers needed. You do need to be careful not to get bit though. Their venom is pretty dangerous and has some rather unpleasant effects. Not sure whose harder to deal with when under the hallucinating effects of some of the venoms here Axl, Aaron, Zane or Cole. Axl didn’t give us much of a problem well except for Aaron but the rest of us had no problem, Aaron goes a bit crazy and did become a bit nippy. He can bite quite hard but he isn’t made of metal nor do either of them have super strength or powers like those ninja so I guess we’ve had an easier time than the ninja when we have to deal with those affected by these venoms. Lance- I like the golden markings to them but I’m not a fan of these things. Seriously dangerous bird lizards that can figure out how to open doors; I saw one do it. It used it’s jaws to manipulate the handle and open it! That aside that hallucinating effect of their venom and some of the other venoms is hilarious; along with footage of Aaron while he was under a few of these venoms I got footage of Axl and those two ninja Cole and Zane. When we get back to Knightonia I’m posting them on social media despite what they think; everyone will enjoy the laugh and I’ll get such a following…(gets a text message then whispers ‘Clay why’d you have to tell them’) or maybe I’ll hold off posting them until I get their permission. I’d rather not face any of their wraths… Axl and Aaron can be dangerous enough I’d rather not find how dangerous those two ninja can be. Jestro- There are a lot of pretty scary things in this place and these are one of them. Sure in the day when they’re not hunting you I guess they’re not too bad, no worse than you’d expect from something that’s a cross between a reptile and a bird but when you see them at night… as if that glowing effect animals eyes normally have isn’t eerie enough that strange reflective strip they have just makes them creepier. Not to mention that venom, I don’t want to know what it’s like to be hallucinating from it. From what I’ve seen and heard it can be quite scary.

The Cult Vesperine
Tumblr media
Hey, welcome/welcome back if you have read my Lloyd x OC content before, I hope you are happy to see Corlette again. The last little story I did was Lloyd confessing his feelings because I was in that headspace but now I am ready to tackle their meeting and Corlette saving from her little cult endeavors.
We are talking about sacrificing and death a little bit and organized religion.
SPEAKING OF RELIGION! I am NOT attempting to bad-mouth organized religion, I am not making a statement about religion or the Christian system, any parallels are simply because the most well-known nuns are often linked with the Christian faith. Whereas I am not religious and have no history with faith in general,  but if you are Religious in any regard and do not like the fact that I will be writing about a cult that makes mention of a fictional god (Literally a god I have made up) and uses a system similar to the sisterhood of nuns that often found in Christianity that may do some human sacrificing, you can make your exit, I write this is good-faith and dispute not talking a religious class in college I have taken a class on Serial Killers, and we briefly touch on murdering cults, so this isn’t even a one to one of Religious cults.
Anyway, sorry for the long note, please enjoy!
“Do not mess with my girls!”
It sounds quite predatory coming from a man of a religious cloth who is much older than a large percentage of his body of worship. Especially when the “my girls” is how you refer to the nuns.
But it’s also more than that. He’s not telling Lloyd to stay away from the cloister, Father Laurent is telling the green ninja to stay away from one nun specially.
Sister Clover or Corlette Esper.
The bisque-skinned woman around his age, with thick green hair that flows out of her headdress. The only nun taking care of him ever since he ended up on the steps of the church injured from whatever battle he had just escaped.
Hah! Don’t mess with Corlette. Oh, that sounds like a challenge, and Lloyd is up for a little challenge, while in the house of what is looking more in more like a cult.
Simply because meeting her was interesting enough to want to continue knowing. She was gentle and soft, tending to him with such care, engaging in light banter with him as he watched her wrap his wounds, inquiring about his odd scars and seeming willing to listen to his stories. Yet, she often looked dejected and sad.
Now here he is a few weeks since arriving laying in the grass of a darkening courtyard after learning some interesting things from Zane. Replaying his conversation with the ice nindroid over and over in his head.
“They are worshipping a god that is known for curing illness and the being creation of medicine. Yet, reports since the merge about the cathedral of Vesperine indicate that they are displaying more extreme cult-like tendencies.”
“What are you saying, Zane? They are sacrificing people?” Lloyd asked over the phone.
“Individuals in the area have gone missing,” Zane replied.
“So, I should get out of here as soon as possible,” Lloyd remarked.
Zane hummed in agreement, “Sora, Arin, Nya, and myself are traveling to your location as we speak, we’ll be there tomorrow.”
Lloyd’s suspicions, along with jokes made to Corlette in private of nunnery’s little library over history books, are now true and it leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
“Do you often sleep in the grass?”
Lloyd opened his eyes looking at Corlette as she stood over him, her voice so tender and quiet.
“I wasn’t sleeping,” he replied sitting up.
“You fooled me,” she giggled, sitting down next to him, “what’s bothering you?”
“How tied are you to your religion?” he asked.
Corlette sighed, “If you asked me before I met you, I would have said I was devoted,” she muttered, “I… I don’t know anymore.”
“Do you want to leave?”
“I…I…”
“Because you can! You can leave, Corlette you may not realize it, but Laurent is disgusting and whether you worship Vesperine or not you should not be near that man!”
“So, if I leave where do I go?” She asked him in a whisper, “The church is all I have!”
“You could come with me,” Lloyd replied quickly, “I’ve already taken in a gaggle of teens, that me and the others are training now. We could always use an herbalist.”
“You make it sound so easy,” Corlette scoffed.
“Because it can be easy!”
“Lloyd,” Corlette sighed shaking her head.
“Corlette, I leave tomorrow! If what I suspect is going on is actually going on you are in danger, and neither Vesperine nor I going to be able to help you!” Lloyd verbalized harshly, “If you come to the monastery with me, I can protect you, all of us can! You can still worship Vesperine if you want to, hell, you can continue to wear the nun habit for all I care! But if you still here—”
“Stop,” Corlette muttered, “Please.”
He stops rambling, looking at her and seeing the melancholy expression, “I’m sorry,” he muttered.
“You’re not the issue,” she remarked, “I just… I can’t leave… not yet.”
“Then promise me something,” he replied.
Corlette sighed, “What?”
“If things start going sideways, or if you want to leave, give me a call,” Lloyd instructed.
“I promise,” she declared, “I wouldn’t think of calling anyone else.”
That was it,  they went their separate ways for the night, only to see one another the next morning when standing in front of the church.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” Lloyd asked, “You can just jump on the Bounty with me and just leave.”
Corlette shook her head after looking around to make sure no one was listening in, “It would be better right now if I stayed here,” she replied.
“My offer still stands, always,” he remarked.
“I’m aware,” Corlette commented, “Your children, look like they need you.”
Lloyd looked behind his shoulder, seeing Sora, Arin, Nya, and even Zane staring at him from the ship all looking in different directions when he stared back at him.
“Call me if you’re in trouble,” he stated, handing her a small piece of paper with his number scrambled on it.
It comes out like a soft demand something that Corlette must do, as if she has no choice.
Corlette nodded, “I would think of calling no one else.”
It was odd saying goodbye, “I’ll see you again, Lloyd.”
He nodded before turning to get on the bounty.
“Is she the new Harumi?” Nya joked once he got settled.
“No,” Lloyd scoffed shaking his head, “She just took care of me while I was there.”
“Does she have healing powers?” Arin asked.
“No, but she’s a very talented herbist,” Lloyd commented.
Nya stared at him for a moment, “what?”
“You have a look on your face.” She replied.
“What face?”
“You’re worried…”
As Corlette watched the bounty travel out of view, she sighed, feeling more separated from all the people here than she had ever had merge or not, she wasn’t like anyone here. Once she was standing in her sorrow she turned, now face to face with Father Lament.
“Father,” she gasped jumping at his closeness, “Sorry I wasn’t aware you were behind me.”
“Sister, I wish to perform a baptism on you,” he said simply.
“Father, but I’ve already been baptized,” she replied cautiously.
“Will you follow me?” Lament asked.
Corlette followed him carefully before being led to a small room with only a white dress laid out on the small bed in the corner of the empty room, and a landline phone on a side table, “Father?”
“Change, and we can perform your baptism,” he stated.
“But I—” the door was shut behind her before she could finish her sentence.
Corlette instantly went for the phone trying her best to be as quiet as possible, using the piece of paper that had been crumbled in her hand, “Hello?”
“You were right,” Corlette huffed in a hushed tone.
“Corlette?”
“I should have left with you! Father Lament says he wants to baptize me, but I’ve been baptized, there is something wrong!”
“Hang in there we’re turning around!”
“Please I’m sort—”
To Lloyd, it sounded like she was hit before the line went dead, “ZANE, TURN AROUND!”
“Lloyd!?”
“TURN AROUND,” he yelled, “Corlette’s in trouble!”
“Corlette?” Nya asked.
“The nun! That cult is I-I-I don’t fucking know, but we have to get back there!” Lloyd raved.
“Alright! Alright!”
On the land of the church is a large and deep lake, now as the skies darken, stands the clergy on one side of the lake and Lament and Corlette on the pier on the other side. The light spring dem and willow green-haired girl with her long-pointed ears and hands tied behind her back as Father Lament preached.
“Corlette the heretic!”
“Corlette the sinner!”
“Corlette the traitor!”
“Sister Corlette the nonbeliever!”
“I AM NOT A TRAITOR!” Corlette screamed struggling against her binds, “I’VE DONE NOTHING BUT WORSHIP VESPERINE FOR YEARS, I GREW UP HERE! I’M NOT A HERETIC!”
Lament pulled the back of her hair, “Then why were you getting friendly with the blonde boy?”
“YOU ASKED ME TO TAKE CARE OF HIM!”
“Taking care of the boy and flirting with him are completely different things,” he whispered.
“I didn’t—AAH!”
“Corlette!” Lloyd yelled.
She looked at the green ninja with such fear in her eyes as she stood on the pier captive.
“Lloyd, are we going to attack a group of nuns?!” Arin asked, as all the nuns watching looked behind their group seeing the ninja, battle-ready.
“… I don’t know,” Lloyd huffed, “just don’t hurt anyone… too bad if it gets too bad.”
“Prevent those heathens from preventing our ceremony!” Lament ordered before the nuns attempted to attempt to grab the ninja.
“BY VESPERINE’S GRACE AND FORTUNE, THE HERETIC SHALL BE THROWN IN THE WATER! IF SHE SHALL SWIM—”
“Lloyd! I’m sorry!” Corlette pleaded after he elbowed a nun in the ribs.
“Why are you apologizing!” Lloyd scoffed running towards the pier, “None of this is your fault!”
Corlette attempted to speak, to justify her apology, yet Laurent pushed her in the lake and of course, Lloyd jumped in after.
“Lloyd jumped in the lake!”  Sora exclaimed.
“What?!”
“LLOYD JUMPED IN THE LAKE!”
Zane, Arin, Sora, and Nya were more focused on the lake, as the nuns and Laurent began burning down the church. Lloyd soon popped out of the lake arm around Corlette dragging her out of the lake. Get her to the bank of the river letting her heave and cough while staring at the grass below her knees.
Lloyd sat beside her heaving, “The church,” he huffed, “Nya, Zane! It’s on fire!”
Nya and Zane tried to stop the fire from spreading as Lloyd continued to stare at Corlette, staring at her hair, the little dark green hair stuck to her face.
“Your hair… is gorgeous,” he sighed.
Corlette began laughing which of course made Lloyd laugh, and they both laughed for a while before Corlette laughter turned into crying leaning against Lloyd as she cried. After the fire was controlled, Corlette went to what used to be her room grabbing the few of her personal belongings that were not burned.
She left with Lloyd and the others still in that stupid white gown, for her sacrifice. Late in the evening, she sat on the deck on the bounty alone, legs close to her chest, staring at the floorboards.
“Corlette,” Lloyd asked softly draping a blanket over her shoulders, “Do you want to change?”
“No.”
He said down next to her, “Are you alright?”
“…no…”
“Would you like to talk about it?”
Corlette hugged herself, “I was one of his favorites,” she began making Lloyd cringe, “I guess... I thought… I don’t know what I thought! You really screw things up for me!”
He knows that she’s not angry, “I’m sorry,” he apologized, nonetheless.
Corlette giggled, “you are very charismatic,” she sniffled, “and you did save me, thank you!”
“You don’t have to thank me.”
The ex-nun rested her head on Lloyd’s shoulder, “Can you promise me something?” she asked quietly.
“Mhm?”
“Promise you will always save me.”
“Promise.”
He replied quickly, quicker than he probably should have, yet he intended to keep that promise for the rest of his life.

double edged blade
[Cole accidentally hurts a teammate in training, and Zane is there to reassure the earth ninja afterward.]
A/N: tryna catch up life’s a bitch. i like how zane’s either being traumatized or being therapist in my fics. anyways i think cole would accidentally forget he’s strong and break stuff and break people i mean uhhh read the fic
@summer-of-whump *coughs in I just realized I had to tag you for a reblog I'm dum*
• • •
The thing is that Cole knows he has super strength. He’s always had a heavier body build, and reaching unlocking the full potential of his elemental powers only multiplied it even more.
And he tried to keep it under control, he really does. He stops fidgeting with cups, having broken too many handles already. Jay offers to design a special durable one for him, but he declines, not wanting even more work for the lighting ninja.
He limits physical affection as much as he can, afraid to accidentally hurt someone in a touch or a casual hug.
It’s all a bad coincidence, in the end.
They’re split up into pairs for training, and Cole’s confident enough in Lloyd’s skills to let loose with his powers a little.
He swings at the wrong height, Lloyd ducks at the wrong time, and is sent flying across the room, back hitting the opposite wall with a terrible crash. He lands on the floor with a cry, nose already streaming blood to the floor.
“Lloyd?”
The others are at his side in the matter of seconds, and the fire ninja peers down at his worriedly, kneeling down to help him up.
“Shit.” Lloyd mumbles, propping himself up weakly, and reaches up gingerly to dab at his nose. The crimson only flows faster, and Kai bats his fingers away with a frown.
“Careful, you might’ve broken your nose. Don’t wanna let your super healing set it the wrong way.” He says, and Lloyd lets out a groan.
“Serios’ly? Ab’ain? I swear, Jay just did that la’d mission when he sla’bed his nunchucks’ a’ross my no’de.” He complains, wincing as he talks, and Kai gives a short laugh, slinging the blonde’s arm across his shoulder.
“I told you it was an accident!” The lighting ninja lets out a cry of disdain, and his argument goes down with a chilling glare from Lloyd.
“You broke it by smashing your weapon across my face.”
“Accident! I said I was sorry, and you were fine like five minutes later!” Jay protests, and Kai waves him down.
“You have special Oni healing, it’ll heal in like an hour. Let’s get you to the medbay. Cole, some help?” The fire ninja glances over to Cole’s earlier spot, only to see a quietly swinging door in response.
“I will go.” Zane tells him, and Kai nods gratefully back.
“Tell him it wasn’t his fault!” Lloyd calls back as he’s being half dragged away by the fire ninja, waving his remaining free arm at the nindroid. “Jay broke it way worse two weeks ago!”
“ACCIDENT, LLOYD, I SWEAR TO GOD— “
• • •
Zane finds the earth ninja sitting on his bed, expression sullen and dull. He doesn’t look at the nindroid as he walks in, eyes flitting to the floor.
“Is Lloyd okay?” Cole asks, and he nods steadily.
“Kai and Jay brought him to the med room, and his Oni blood should take care of the rest easily. It wasn’t your fault, Cole, everyone loses control once in a while.”
“I can’t. I’ll kill someone if I do.”
Zane gives him a small smile, and holds out his hand wordlessly. Cole looks at it, eyes filled with fear, like it’ll crumble if he touches it.
“It’s okay. You could never hurt me.” He taps on his wrist, a dull metal thunk sounding. “Metal, remember? Even you can’t break this, enhanced strength and all.”
Cole glances up at his face, dark brown eyes to icy blue. He hesitates, but puts his hand into Zane’s.
“Sometimes I wish I could go back to normal,” he says to Zane quietly, after a few moments of silence, and the nindroid furrows his brows in confusion.
“Normal?”
“When I didn’t have to remember not to accidentally hurt people.”
Zane thinks back to his days in the forests and the small village, where days were peaceful and short and sunny. He didn’t have to worry about being attacked, or hacked into, or where his family’s next meal would come from, or anything, besides the next day and the next.
He gets it.
“I know what you mean.” He says softly, and Cole hunches further into himself, anger coming off in waves.
“It’s so stupid. They’re part of me, and I still can’t contain them.” He breathes, and the ice ninja nods, giving his hand a small squeeze.
“Then we’ll learn.” Zane tells him.
Cole looks up at him, and this time his gaze is a little brighter.

So! Until now, who Jules get along with best in the Holler?
Jules is honestly vibing with almost everyone so far! She's been polite and has treated everyone with honesty and kindness, and in exchange people have really welcomed her to Scarlet Hollow. She's even managed to have a good relationship with Tabitha and Kaneeka at the same time somehow!
Jules has positive feelings for a lot of characters, so let me break down the most notable ones:
She is closest to: probably a tie between Stella and Tabitha. They are the ones that have opened up to Jules the most, and sharing those intimate moments has created a tight bond.
She relates most to: Kaneeka. They have a similar logical mind and responsible aura. They’re basically on the same wavelength most of the time.
She appreciates how chill Avery is, it makes her feel at ease with them. It saddens her that they feel like an outsider, so she includes them in her plans every time she gets the chance. She was a bit weirded out when they said they wouldn’t mind a ditchling laying eggs in their body, but she likes them nonetheless. She’s looking forward to their party.
Zane makes her laugh, she’s always interested in what he has to say. The only time she momentarily disliked him was when he slapped the wooden beam in the mines to prove they wouldn’t collapse (oh boy).
Gretchen seems to be happy when she’s around and that, in turn, makes Jules very happy.
On the other hand, there are some people that she doesn’t like / doesn’t get along with:
She is disliked by: probably Deputy Franklin, because she has called him out in public. Frou-Frou says she despises her but she kinda hopes that she’ll end up tolerating her.
People that distrust her: the police, Zachs and Dr. Kelly. It’s not because of anything she’s actually done, but because of her status as an outsider, a Scarlet and a possible influence on Reese, respectively. She hasn’t said anything outrageous to them though, so they still have a civil relationship for now.
She dislikes: the bus guy, clearly. Becka, because of how bad she treats everyone (and because she gives her second-hand embarrassment). Becka’s mother, because she had the nerve to blame and threaten Tabitha after what happened in the mines instead of educating her brat child. Sybil, because she’s supernaturally manipulating everyone and because she constantly takes advantage of Kaneeka. Similarly, Jules is annoyed at Miles’ attitude towards his sister. She hates that Wayne is stalking her and not understanding his motives. Finally, she’s against Dr. Kelly’s way of dealing with Reese, and she feels a mix of anger and pity about her (plus she finds her very rude).
She distrusts: the police, their unprofessionalism shocks her, although she suspects it might be due to Sybil’s tea. Obviously she doesn’t trust Sybil at all. She’s relieved that she never drank her tea, she wouldn’t have imagined that her dislike of herbal infusions would be of so much help! Also, she doesn’t buy Wayne’s “you don’t have to fear me – I’m your protector” tune and she’s very much wary of him.
She’s lowkey a bit freaked out by the pastor’s daughter. Creepy kid.
