So, apologies that it took me all week to answer this--I feel like the entirety of the month of February has just caught up with me, which essentially feels like a lot of tiredness hitting all at once.
I did see this on Monday, however, and I just...am again at something of a loss. I got a bit down on myself over my response to her Insta story from the first preview of Nye and thinking I was overreacting/reading too much into things...and then this happens.
The first thing I would say is that I agree with you that AL is making it all about her again. The post itself comes across as PR, which it likely was because Georgia also shared the same clip that day--albeit with a caption that was actually about Michael/centered on the show. And the contrast becomes even more stark when you look at this post from Caroline Sheen. Caroline is Michael's cousin and she had a small role in The Way, and her post is much more personal and essentially what you would expect from someone who is close to someone in the production. Which subsequently makes AL's post look even more like PR in comparison.
But I think what irritates me the most about Anna's post is that it's yet another instance of her making a dig at Wales. Talking of patterns as I tend to do, she did this previously in September of last year (the #FromManhattantoTonypandy hashtag), and in both of these cases it's her reminding everyone of where she lived before, and likely where she still wishes she lived. In thinking of your initial question, AL may have adjusted to Wales in some ways, but it's clearly not where she belongs or thinks she belongs. I've written previously on my blog about her likely thinking she would be living the celebrity life in New York or London, and Wales was almost certainly a place she didn't even know existed until Michael. So this entire post feels like it's tinged with passive-aggressive resentment as a result.
Let me be clear: In no way do I think that moving to a new country is an easy thing, and it is more than understandable that someone might not love every single thing about the place in which they live, especially if they are an outsider coming from a completely different culture. But the thing is, The Way is literally about Wales. It is entirely focused on Welsh identity and history, and it is a project into which Michael has poured a tremendous amount of his passion and energy and time, which speaks to what you mentioned about him talking about this since 2017.
Why, then, would you make such a snarky comment on a post promoting a show so centered on Wales? That your own partner directed, no less? At best, it comes across as thoughtless and self-centered, and at worst, as deliberately disrespectful.
I can also fully understand why Michael put out a tweet of his own promoting the second episode less than an hour after Anna posted that story. If we are to say that Georgia is a good representative for David on social media--which she arguably is, most of the time--then Anna, by contrast, is the worst possible representative for Michael. And a post like the one above only further highlights how mismatched and wrong for each other they truly are. I also think it's pained him to refrain from tweeting for this long, and now he finally has a reason to start again, for which both we and Michael can be thankful.
So yes, those are my thoughts on AL's story from earlier this week. Glad to hear from my followers as well about your reactions to this. Thank you for writing in! x

Hello. It occurred to me recently that Hera is the only character of the main cast who is not named for an engineer/physicist/mathematician. Do u think this has any significance regarding her role on the team and her character, or not really?
(Also, the wiki says she's probably named for the Greek goddess Hera which has interesting connotations if it's true. There was also a NASA probe called Hera at some point I'm pretty sure, but I don't know which is the more likely namesake. I just enjoy the names in W359 because I am a physics student and it's fun to hear character names in all my classes.)
hi! i think the answer is kind of... yes and no? like, gabriel urbina has said his process of naming characters is first to choose a category to pick surnames from, to narrow down the options (so, in this case, famous scientists), and then to find given names that he thinks sound good with those surnames. so i don't think symbolism is the purpose, and i don't think it needs to be. but hera, obviously... doesn't have a last name. and so the way she was named (both in and out of universe) is different, and i think that does represent something.
first: hera is the mother program of the hephaestus. the hera of greek mythology is the mother of hephaestus and cast him out of the sky. the allusions are obviously intentional. (as are other mythology names in the show, but that's another topic.) second: a lot of real world things relating to space are named for mythology, and clearly cutter agrees that's how it should be done. but also: goddard's AIs share the same naming scheme with their spacecrafts. hera, rhea, eris, enlil, perseus, hyperion vs. hephaestus, hermes, tiamat, urania, valkyrie, sol. in one sense, this marks them as company property, people who are treated as equivalent to technology.
but, third: from a writing perspective, gabriel urbina has also said he only started getting a sense of who hera was when he started writing for michaela swee in the second episode; there's such a difference in how she's written just between those first two scripts. you can even see in the first recording script that her name was stylized HERA, as if it stood for something, like a much more standard AI character might have been named. which goes so far against what her name actually ended up representing that it retroactively becomes an in-universe microaggression.
and so, fourth: despite all of that, the real thing that makes hera's name stand apart is that it's a chosen name. it's offered to her, but not the way a name is given - it's a bribe, with the understanding it can be taken away from her. rachel says she can see what else is available if hera "has a problem with the etymology or any of the allusions," which is kind of interesting. but hera chooses to be hera. i don't think it's a stretch to say she has a deadname and a chosen name: that she has to introduce herself every time in a way that amounts to "i prefer to be called hera" and that her name is treated as optional and conditional, a reward for good behavior. if hera wanted to take a middle or last name, she would be choosing those, too.
i think ultimately names in wolf 359 are less about categorization and/or symbolism and more about identity. names are symbols that represent and contain the people who claim them. how people are referred to, when, and by whom - as well as how people refer to themselves by name as an act of self-determination, a reclamation of identity, or in defiance - is all central to the themes of the show. and, from that perspective, i think how hera is named (and what her name means to her, how she has had to construct and fight for parts of her identity that others are given as a default assumption) is significant, but i don't think it really sets her apart from the others when their names are treated in similar ways thematically.

No, but like, WHY do people care so much about other people ship preferences?
I get it, I don't ship the obvious ones or the "right" or what was given to me by the author, but IS JUST A SHIP.
Look, don't get me wrong, I'm not angry at other preferences when it comes to this. What I get annoyed at is that when there is an illustration, an edit, a fucking fic, any kind of media, that shows that romantic dynamic between the characters they will be like
"siblings 🩷" "omg no how could ship that? They aren't like that." "Have you read the books ?" "Omg, people actually ship them?" "The author said..." "omg but this (name of other ship), it's so much better," and so on.
My beautiful person who comments in every edit of (some examples, but I'm sure that there's more) harmony, lunami, zutara, sasusaku .... do you really think that they/we don't know or care about this ? Do you know what you look like when u comment stuff like that? An idiot who can't let others have a different opinion on literally fiction character's romance life, like that one kid in kindergarten who saw another kid getting a toy and go's on about how that toy is lame compared to theirs, a spoiled brat.
You have so many things to be arguing about in the actual plot, but you can't cus you think that the idea of nami and luffy together is so wrong that you go around in every media of them "oda said..." But with other members of the crew, oda said absolutely nothing... not only that, but are we really discussing this ? Can we be talking about I don't know... how racist and hypocrites are some people in this famdon? Really give your disappointment and disgust to that(what is actually important).
Harry and Hermione are another great example of "I know they aren't like that but I like the idea of it" WE KNOW THEY AREN'T LIKE THAT but we think is cute it could HAVE BEING cute, sometimes people just grow up shipping and seeing they as a possible couple, like people who grow hating sakura and now simply can't have a actually good argument of why she should be hated on... that was an ironic comment by the way but also not, ( no, her not liking the main character the same way shouldn't be one, or the author not giving her screen time either much less cus of the fact the the anime did her dirty with so much disconnect things from the manga, like her relationship with sasuke <his perspective of it > or naruto himself for that matter, hate on a literally 12 years old for saying shit that every fucking person in the village grew up thinking, funny, why not hate on the thirdkage then? There is no need to get offended by the IDEA of it. We love the drama and the fic, the illustrations, the edits are just a format that represents and shows it, share if people who likes it, you don't like it ? Oh well, let me tell you a secret, ignore it, you probably ignore so much more important things, why not a fucking edit of ship you don't even like ?, oh you can't ? You can't see other people "toy" and shut about your disappointment on it, is it that hard ?, oh well, have you actually not known that there's an amazing thing within social media, when you hold/press or simply click on the 3 dots on the top of the post, there's a option there, that's right, BLOCK IT the algorithm will understand if you continue blocking it, unlike some people.
I'm just rambling about this because I'm sick and tired of people being such a killjoy, I just want to enjoy "my ship" and see the comments of people who actually likes it to, not yours "siblings 🩷" in post which is definitely not about that, or "oda said..." when i didn't ask what he said, you know people have different things that brings them a scape from reality that brings them a funny giggle (no killing others people joy, when it's such a basic no harmful thing), wave of emotion for those who don't get to feel much in the day-to-day life or simple just cus.

Ps.. There is no offense for those who ship other characters within these plots(or different ones), original, popular, or unpopular. Do your thing. Be happy. Just don't spoil others.

it was now your junior year at the university. same old same old, except a little secret crush that had been brewing for a while now. who was it ? of course, the beloved campus senior, sung hanbin.
it was safe to say you were just like the other girls on campus. hanbin was a popular one, and you were no match for his charms. the only problem ? you were pretty sure he didn’t even know you existed !
today was per usual, classes were a little boring, but asides that nothing else seem different. lunch time rolled around quickly, and things took a turn as you made your way to the cafeteria.
you were blocked by students crowding a specific area, quite irritating. but then you got curious, why was everyone blocking the halls ? you needed a closer look.
making your way to the front of the crowd, you could make up two people. it was sung hanbin and another senior girl, who you weren’t quite familiar with. ah, another confession. poor girl, it’ll end in a rejection as always, hanbins signature move. do people just never learn ?
as you were about to leave, the next couple of words made you halt your movements. “but who could you possibly reject me for ?! i’m the prettiest girl in this school !” she hollered in an outrage.
“i’m rejecting you because my heart lies with ___, please understand that.” hanbins tone was still calm as ever— wait what ? did you hear that correctly ? his heart lies with you ?

why bluey’s “sleepytime” is the only episode Ever
no guys u don't understand. bluey's sleepytime episode is the bluey episode. THE episode. it's such a wonderful and profound showcase of the tight-knit and unconditional love this family has for each other and it will always bring tears to my eyes whenever i watch it. so anyways here’s a 2k word analysis of the entire episode and its meanings and symbolisms
the episode starts off with chilli reading bingo a story about a chick hatching from its egg. after hatching, the chick immediately sees its mother and snuggles up to her so she can fall asleep. that already sets the perfect precedent for what to expect. bluey and bandit come in, but i will talk about them later. chilli finishes reading bingo her story. bingo suddenly gets worried about floppy being missing, but chilli finds floppy and returns it to bingo. after, chilli bids bingo good night, and bingo tells her she wants to do a "big girl sleep".
one small detail i enjoyed is that, in response, chilli tells bingo to do her best, saying she's always there if bingo needs assistance. this entire scene is very heartwarming because chilli does not set up high expectations for bingo to solve her predicament. sometimes, getting the hang of something is difficult, and some parents would pressure their children into finding the solution instead of consoling them and assuring them that they'll be there throughout the journey. here, chilli does not set high expectations for bingo, nor does she leave bingo alone— she tells bingo that, okay, i am here with you no matter what, whether you solve your problem or not. i will be here for you, because i believe in you and love you conditionally—THIS introduces the theme of the episode.
an important detail i want to highlight is that, floppy was given to bingo by chilli right before chilli says this. i'll expound more later, but i believe that floppy is meant to represent chilli's unconditional love for bingo. even if chilli isn't there, her love still persists, and in this episode, we see it through floppy being bingo's guardian in her dream.
then, the dream itself occurs— one of the most beautifully animated and well-composed sequences in any piece of animation, really. what i like about it is that bingo hatches from the earth just like a chick. at the same time, floppy hatches from the moon, and they both hug. in astrology, the moon represents one’s emotions and desires. again, i’m going to expound on floppy later, but understand that i believe floppy represents the love the family shares for one another. if the moon represents inner desires, then bingo’s inner desire is to showcase her love for her family as much as they do with her.
then, they see the sun, who we all know represents chilli. it's the same story— a baby chick, bingo, hatches and the first thing they see is their mom, chilli, the sun. the story of the chick ends with it sleeping with their mom, and here, we know that bingo wants to overcome their sleepwalking issues. so, bingo's inclination towards the sun is meant to represent how she feels like she can overcome her problems with the warmth of the sun, her mom.
i want to say that, because chilli is represented by the sun, it would suggest that all of the heeler family is represented by something as well. here, bingo is earth. in astronomy, earth symbolizes honesty, groundedness, and reliability. these are definitely pretty profound descriptions for bingo, but it checks out— in bluey, bingo is seen as less rambunctious than her sister. she's pretty emotionally intelligent and compassionate to others, and a lot of episodes focus on her honesty about boundaries, and what makes her feel hurt.
eventually, bingo and floppy pass a hatched planet that seems to be mercury. right after, we see bluey ask her mom to fetch her a glass of water. this heavily implies that bluey, in this situation, is mercury. in astrology, mercury is meant to resemble outward expression at its finest, curious about the wonders of life. mercury tends to be connected to wit and rationalization. again, big words to describe someone like bluey, but bluey definitely is the more outgoing, curious, and smart person between her and her sister. she's always the one asking questions, knowing how to rationalize her decisions to ensure what she's doing is what she thinks is right. she's also very intricate about the inner workings of her games, and tends to be a little rebellious when it comes to following rules outside of games. in this way, both her and her sister somewhat contrast, but we know they're a perfect balance with each other.
anyway, chilli brings bluey the water that she doesn't even drink. chilli then retreats to bluey's bed instead of disturbing her from her sleep. i think the untouched glass of water is another discreet symbol of the love chilli provides for her children. her love is there, even if you don't see it. even bluey snugs up into chilli’s spot on the bed, sleeping soundly.
after chilli sneaks into bluey’s bed, we see bingo sleepwalk into her parents’ bedroom and sleep in between bluey and bandit. at the same time, we see bingo approach what seems to be like neptune in her dream. in neptune, she plays around, rolling across is lands as bingo rolls around the blanket in real life. what’s interesting is that, in astrology, neptune is meant to represent inspiration, ideals, and creativity, ignoring every sense of limitation life throws at you. i think this is a perfect way to encapsulate bluey, bingo, and bandit’s dynamic, as these three are the ones who thoroughly commit to the bit of their games. together, these three aren’t limited by anything, and it makes them happy.
afterwards, we see bingo approach jupiter, which is supposed to represent bandit. in astrology, jupiter is described as expansive, ensuring growth at whatever adventure you pursue. in a way, jupiter is like a guardian angel, which embodies bandit extremely well. bandit’s entire schtick is ensuring that his daughters’ childhood whimsy never dies while also keeping track of how they develop as their own persons. i think this is also emphasized by how both bluey and bingo, in the dream, are seen playing and having fun on jupiter, to bandit’s expense. it heavily mirrors these three’s playing style with each other in general.
i think the most beautiful part of it all, though, is bingo and floppy descending into the core of jupiter. it’s such an overlooked scene. jupiter’s core is described to be filled with pressure and heat. the weight of the pressure within jupiter’s core is said to be equal to 160,000 cars. and yet, bingo finds comfort in it, hugging it dearly. if bandit is meant to be jupiter, then bingo hugging the core is meant to represent bingo’s adoration of bandit as her father and as a good person. bandit never withholds anything from the girls, showcasing his love for them through complex games and lighthearted roughhousing. i also think that’s what the storms surrounding the core represent. bingo recognizes the love that her father gives her through EVERYTHING that he is, just like how chilli shows that she loves her children unconditionally.
we see bandit bring bingo back into her room. before returning to his room, he helps bluey take a dump, singing her the song he sang to bluey when she was a baby. and, can i just mention how “dad can you sing to me” is genuinely one of the funniest scenes in bluey? like, not only is this show emotionally compelling, but it’s hilarious, and i love how this episode showcases both in harmony.
when both bluey and bandit return to bandit’s bedroom, we see that bingo is there, sleeping in bandit’s spot comfortably. bluey sneaks into her mom’s spot, and bandit sleeps on the floor. bingo falls into the floor, sleeping next to bandit. bingo then begins sleepwalking again, returning to her bedroom. in her dream, she comes across saturn whose rings are a bunch of floppies circling around. in astrology, saturn is meant to represent discipline, karma, and structure, often meant to teach us about what our obligations and responsibilities in life are.
i find this scene interesting, especially if you consider that floppy is meant to represent love. floppy insists they want to join the other floppies, and despite bingo’s hesitation, she lets them. i think what this means, especially when considering that floppy and their peers returned to bingo later on, is to show that it’s integral for bingo to give out love as much as the love she receives. she recognizes the importance of chilli giving bingo comfort and care. despite the fact that it’s difficult for bingo to let go of floppy, she recognizes that floppy wants this, and so bingo lets them go, because bingo wants to return the love she felt from floppy. through this, we also see that she values the love her family gives her, and she wants them to know she loves them back. that is why the moon represents floppy, because again, bingo’s inner desire is to share the love she experiences with her family.
and then, this scene. bingo zooms through space, moving directly towards the sun. and as we know, the sun represents chilli. upon seeing the sun, bingo gets a hold of her tears and tells the sun that she has to go [to bed] because she’s a big girl now. here we return to the initial problem at hand and bingo’s arc of getting there. obviously, the journey there was not perfect- she sleepwalked a lot that night, and cried when she lost floppy. but, that’s okay. the sun, chilli, recognizes her efforts in trying, and ensures bingo that she’ll be here with her through the entire journey of making her way there. and even if chilli didn’t explicitly tell bingo that she loved her, the sun tells bingo she loves her because bingo knows her mom loves her. she even wags her tail to it! in real life, chilli snuggles up to her like the mother hen and the chick from the story, and we see later that bingo was able to fall asleep, aka solve her problem, because her mom supported her wholeheartedly.
and i think that’s another beautiful thing about sleepytime. the fact that this happens in bingo’s head showcases that this is how she thinks of herself and her family. bluey, as mercury, is outgoing, adventurous, and curious, because bingo knows this and loves her for it. bandit, as jupiter, is a playful guardian angel, showing his love through fun and being himself, because bingo knows this and loves him for it. chilli is filled with warmth and unconditional love for her family, similar to how far the sun’s light can reach, because bingo knows this and loves her for it. bingo’s dream reveals her deep appreciation for her family, because she knows that they all love her.
and eventually, bingo returns to her earth, putting its pieces together. here we see floppy and their friends return to help bingo. to harken back to the saturn symbolism, not only does saturn depict responsibility but it also represents good karma, believing good things will occur if you commit to your responsibilities. and here, we know how much bingo loves other people like her family and floppy. because of her good deed towards floppy, the floppies return to help her because they love her too. it reflects how chilli returns floppy to bingo. this is the second time in the episode that bingo receives floppy from her mother. if we apply the same logic and consider floppy as a symbol of love, chilli returns floppy to bingo because she is giving back the love that bingo provides to her. chilli knows how much bingo loves her, the same way bingo knows how much her mom loves her. the love within the heeler family is cyclical, because every single one of them love each other so, so much.
and then we are brought back to reality as the music swells. we see the many instances of love wafting through the walls of their home. the bathroom where bandit stayed to support bluey, the glass of water chilli got for bluey, bluey and bandit snuggled up on the floor comfortably, chilli enjoying the warmth of the bed the entire family slept on at some point, bingo’s storybooks, and eventually, the sun making its way to bingo’s window. it’s all love. the entire household basks in the glow of unconditional love for each other.
all in all, sleepytime is such a beautiful episode showcasing how love within families should exist within everything they do, no matter how “mundane” it seemingly is. THAT’S what a family is supposed to be. i would also, obviously, like to compliment the stunning animation, background designs, comedy, and score, because it really heightens the impact of the entire episode. genuinely, if you want to introduce bluey to somebody who hasn’t watched it, THIS is the episode. anyway i ignored my homework for this, just go stream bluey!!!!!!
(ps if the planets are wrong, like if neptune was actually uranus and if mercury was actually mars, then uhhh just dont talk abt it LOL. tbh i googled them to just to make sure and it provides similar insights anyway!!!)

Hello!! Me again, :)
I read the newest chapter(of bloodlines, which was awesome) and I was wondering about Paul. What about Feyd endears Paul? Honestly, Feyd doesn’t seem like someone Paul would be with given the choice especially considering Feyds first impression. It seems to me that at this point even tho Paul and his mother are still being the plotting little schemers we know and love and that Paul’s affections could be apart of some plan of theirs, his emotional boundaries are still somewhat being chipped away at by Feyd.
Also btw this isn’t relevant to the characters but I love how you worked your way around feyds social ineptness to give the readers hints to understanding Paul, for example in chapter 6 when they’re talking about the spice shipments and Paul says “it’s only been a few weeks since the change” and he gets a cloudy look in his eyes; I interpreted that as him also reflecting on how short it’s been since his father died and how his life has been drastically changed but Feyd doesn’t pick up on that at allllll lol.
Also do u mind if ppl draw fanart of ur fic? I’m a very slow artist but I’d love to draw some of ur scenes :3

To be quite honest about what Paul feels for Feyd, there really isn’t affection for him on Paul’s side (at this point!!). Feyd fell pretty fast and hard for obvious reasons. But there are so many more layers surrounding how Paul feels about Feyd. His kinda philosophy going into this was to basically have sex with him because he has to and remain extremely emotionally distant from this person who is part of the family that murdered his beloved father and destroyed his whole world. He very much would not have picked Feyd as a partner if situations were different. Which is part of the reason I am finding writing this story so fun, because it’s picking apart these characters' brains and figuring out a way they can fit together.
Very slight inklings of affection have been creeping up on him and will continue on to creep up on him in the coming chapters. But it is going to be a very slow burn for Paul emotionally. Where Feyd, at this point, is almost in love with him. I feel like each chapter represents another step forward in their relationship, for Feyd and Paul and oftentimes it means different things to them personally.
Paul is only just coming to acknowledge and accept that he’s physically attracted to this person, which in itself was a hard conclusion for him to come to as he was raped on his wedding night. Which was a frankly awful experience for him. Which is why we see him not physically turned on by Feyd for several encounters after that. He’s afraid and in his head and deeply uncomfortable. But Feyd has been pretty relentless about making sure Paul has an orgasm every time they fuck, so Paul was like “hold up… am I enjoying this?”. Basically, chapter 7 was him being like “okay, I enjoy having sex. But I think in order to make this better for the both of us, we need to come to some understandings about how we are going to have sex in the future”. He’s trying to figure out what he likes sexually as he was in fact a virgin before all of this went down. Basically he’s a little more comfortable around Feyd now, hence the slight playfulness in chapter 7 where he tickles him and then laughs at Feyd’s reaction. Honestly such a favorite moment of mine.
(Side note, Paul is going to have a POV chapter soon which will help to elucidate some of this).
So chapter 8 for Paul, that little interaction at the end. He's starting to see and understand that they have a common enemy and see how this could potentially open up some trust between them as they’ve both been hurt by this person. If anyone was wondering, yes I do think Paul knows about Feyd’s CSA. While I haven’t read the book yet, the movies seem to indicate that he gets flashes about people beside himself i.e. Dr Kynes when he knows that she loved and lost a Fremen warrior. In this story, Paul knows Feyd was sexually abused by his uncle. It helps give some perspective on this violent and frankly terrifying person in a way that allows him to feel sympathy and give a little more understanding and context to him as a person and their relationship as a whole. And the fact that at the end of chapter 8 Feyd seeks him out in a protective way rather than to demand sex, goes a long way in Paul having some more good will towards him.
In the next chapter, something else will happen as another step/layer to their relationship that will give Paul another “aha” moment. It’s going to help him feel even more comfortable in their marriage and kinda understand better how their dynamic is going to continue going forward (in a sexual and non sexual way).
Paul and Feyd are such different people with extremely disparate upbringings. Paul was deeply loved and protected by his parents who modeled love and affection for him and raised him to be an intelligent and empathetic person. However, he has little context for having friendships and relationships with people his own age or arguably at all. His only friends seemed to be his parents and much older mentor figures who were old enough to be his father or grandfather. Feyd is not only much younger than those people, but has absolutely no emotional maturity. So there's this very wide divide between them. To bridge that gap is going to take years. Which is why there is going to be more stories after bloodlines. It will not happen by the end of this fic. However, they are going to come to a (hopefully) satisfying emotional understanding by the last chapter. At least I’m very satisfied by it and excited to share it 😝.
If I could pinpoint what specifically endears Feyd to Paul, at this point… honestly not a lot… He is so so different from anyone he’s known before. I think he likes (sometimes), that Feyd surprises him (when it’s not a bad surprise, which honestly most of them have been). He’s much more of an instinctual and spontaneous person where Paul is thoughtful and analytical. I think he appreciates that Feyd seems to like him taking the lead in their sexual relationship. And I think he likes that Feyd seems to respect his intelligence and fighting abilities and actively seeks his council and input.
Oh my goodness this is incredibly long. Hopefully all of that makes sense 😝. Also, yes to Feyd not getting the implication behind Paul’s words in the scene about the time between the change.

Im always re reading the manga
And this time I realized three things.
The first one it's about Team Taka. When they are fighting against Bee, Sasuke almost died a lot of time and this fight is the moment Kishi showed they bonds getting stronger, because they put theirs life in game for each other, for Sasuke and He realized he could trust his life to them. This was the first time they protect Sasuke in this battle and seeing Sasuke's body reaction, he didn't imagine that Suigetsu and Juugo would come to save him... But then, in Kage summit arc...
He didn't even blink...
The second one It's about SasuKarin: Maybe Kishi didn't think to do that on purpose, but when Sasuke got revived, when he wake up the first thing/person he saw was Karin 🥺 U can see in the painel when they are sit in the floor, Naruto is looking forward, but Sasuke is looking at his left... He literally came back from dead and the first thing he saw was the face of the woman who got through the world to reach him. That's it.
Honestly, I can't understand what happened, because all the development in the team's bond is based on the mutual need that each one has in the other as Kishi himself showed.
And for those who say that Sasuke only used the Taka members... I'll say that he never intended for after the Kage summit arc involve them in his plans... He himself says that his plans weren't just kill the elders, but Kill everyone in Konoha and the only one that know about this was Tobi.
But at the other hand he said the same thing for team Taka, that he wasn't a pawn of Akatsuki. So at the end of the history his real plan was to destroy Konoha by himself with the amaterasu. Neither Hawk, Neither Akatsuki. So, in any moment at that arc, Sasuke would left them behind, The Akatsuki and the Hawk... Sasuke knew Juugo and Suigetsu could find a way to save themselves, and for Karin, she was in the middle of his revenge... Anyone who got in her place would suffer the same fate, even Naruto.
Ok, at this point is everything ok... It's all in line with the story and what the characters was facing... The thing is the way Kishi makes Sasuke behave when they meet again...
Like, Sasuke still immersed in darkness, but here he is more lucid, centered on what he must do and not blinded by hatred and revenge... He is there in search of the truth to decide which path he should follow, and again Kishi puts the taka team into his life, and yet, after all, he makes Sasuke treat them as indispensable. It's contradictory.
For real, I love they group dynamic and what they represent for each other... And I love to repeat it:
Sasuke is a kind of light at the end of the tunnel for each of them and also represents a new beginning.
I've always understood Karin's and Juugo's motives, but it wasn't until recently that I understood Suigetsu's one.
To Juugo Sasuke was peace, for Karin happiness and Suigetsu some sense of freedom and For Sasuke team taka could be all this thing together and I saw them has a opportunity for him to heal and I just love this one here [x] It's a lot about Sasuke and Konoha and shows that Sasuke himself don't belong there.

sweet anon you are both in the PR stage you're in love with an idea right now, not a person--not saying you do not genuinely like her but you do not know each other enough to have a grasp of her as a person, you only know how she makes you feel and all these feelings are a response to something from within you: they are hopes and projections fuelled by excitement and maybe a dash of novelty which is very common (and normal, we've all been there) but they can create a bit of a smokescreen that makes it harder to look at your situation clearly, if that makes sense.
i think it will be helpful to try and pause for a bit to ask yourself where those feelings are coming from and what they are in response to-- what exactly is it she gives you that you have not had before? what is her presence representing for you? why is this so important to you? when you are thinking about her constantly, what exactly are those thoughts about? are they in the here and now, or an imagined future? are they based on anything solid she has said or done, or are they more your own daydreams and hopes taking centre stage? is there anything in your life that you feel is lacking or empty and that these feelings are a welcome distraction from?
again, absolutely not dismissing your feelings here but i think it's very easy sometimes to let the excitement of finding someone we like (and who likes us back) run away with us sometimes. at this stage, because it is so early, and because you don't know someone enough they are, essentially, kind of a blank slate for you to pin your own feelings and hopes to--as i said, everyone goes through this at some point, but it's important to try and maintain awareness of this so that you are able to be attentive to the other person as a person, and yourself, too, in a way that is fair to the both of you and allows you to express yourselves, and meet each other, openly and honestly. most realisations we have about a person in these scenarios first require us to know that person for themselves--and this takes time.
i think it's important, right now, that you allow yourself to keep busy and remain active in your life outside of your dates and conversations with the girl you're seeing--not saying to ignore her at all, but to make sure you have other lines of focus too and not to neglect whatever you enjoyed doing, or the other relationships, activities etc that you had before her: keep in touch and meet up with your friends often, or set little goals for yourself during the week--eg., "i'll get in an hour at the gym on thursday" "i'll go for a swim" "i'll try this new restaurant with a friend" "i'll go to the cinema to see xyz" "i'm going to try and make this recipe for lunch / dinner / dessert" etc.
forcing yourself not to think about someone is borderline impossible and is only going to make them an even more powerful presence in your mind (trying not to think about something requires, by definition, that you do think about them which makes for a fabulously frustrating circle) so the best thing to do is to limit how much free time you actually have to do that thinking in--this way your brain is occupied enough that it cannot spend as long fantasising and YOU can stay relatively sane.
i hope your interactions with this girl go well, anon, and i hope that as much as you can, you're able to check in with yourself and understand how you're feeling so you can put everything into a more intentional and aware framework for yourself as your feelings evolve. hope this helps even just a little, sending you lots of love (and support!!) 🤍

okok so i just wanted to compliment ur writing in a way i haven’t seen others compliment it and it’s smth that i never see in any literature ever w fem MCs especially fan fiction. i love the way u give the MC a personality and life of her own. i like that’s he can stand up for herself and has hopes and passions that don’t just correlate with the men in the series. this is insane for fan fiction ESPECIALLY cuz it’s x reader. i don’t think u understand how much i appreciate it and it’s one of the reasons i most look forward to ur chapters. she’s not just some dumb silly, small, boy-crazy, and perfect mc and i love that!! teen girls are so complex and u right that so well. anyway love ya 🤍🤍

And let me tell you, (this is most def gonna be a small rant) I feel like reader-insert fics have a really bad reputation, and I know there are factions of the internet that absolutely despise them but I have to say some of the best fanfiction I've ever read, have been reader inserts.
So, while I do know there are some bad ones (I've seen them and read them), I also think the genre has the potential for greatness. I mean, just think about it, it's kind of like playing a videogame in which you get to choose the character you're playing as, customizing and all that. But nobody goes around criticizing video games where you get to basically self-insert into the narrative, do they? (I mean I suppose they do but that's because people like criticizing stuff)
If Dante did it, why can't we?
Either way, what I mean to say is that I'm trying to be one of those incredibly good writers I've encountered who basically redeem the genre by being single-handedly incredible. Writers like @wkemeup @kquil @embrassemoi @maiden-of-asgard @lokisgoodgirl @lokischambermaid @pseudonymmcwriter @matchavellichor @buckyskorpion @myfictionaldreams and many many more writers out there that time after time deliver incredibly amazing content, that never ceases to amaze me!

Also... I'm so glad you guys don't think MC is "miss perfect", because she might be talented but she's also dumb and stubborn as fuck and weaving that into the narrative has been so much fun! I didn't want a Jane Doe, I wanted a strong female character with actual fucking flaws and character growth because I want and need to see her struggle and improve. The whole "she's magically talented thing" does not vibe with me. Even if she is a little bit gifted, but then again, she has to be if she wants to keep up with the marauders.

Ugh this! So happy this is the impression it's giving because since the start, I tried to have the series pass the Bechdel Test because I want to accurately represent women in the story. And while yes, they are teens and of course, they're thinking about dating, they also have their own issues. And while this is the story of how Vixen, Sirius and Remus end up in a throuple, it is also the story of how Vixen ends up in Hogwarts and deals with her new life there, and that aspect of the story is just as interesting to me as the relationship drama.
Either way, I want to thank you for your nice comments, I've had one hell of a week and this most definitely made me feel a lot better. lysm.

I feel like I need to clarify. I like the whole “The Jedi code is like an itch; their compassion leaves a trail.” thing but more as a ‘values that the best and most true Jedi hold’ and that sort of futile idealism people believe applies to the jedi as a whole.
But I hate when people take that line and use it as a reason to discount people arguing against the Jedi.
Like you need to see the difference between ideals and values vs action.
I love that u love ur jedi and what they stand for, but i need you to understand that the jedi actually SUCK and thats okay (for you to like them in spite of such). Stop trying to convince people of their goodness bc for sure, some of them are good, but that doesnt make them representative.
The jedi fell bc they were a working part of a corrupt system and u literally can’t take their responsibility for that away just bc u wunna hold their hand and giggle. Root for them but dont talk to anyone amidst your delusion where the meow meow jedi can do no wrong. Do you understand?
“Their compassion leaves a trail…its like an itch” and I would see so many people use it like “See? The jedi are peak perfection and good!” and im like, “No! They arent! Anakin’s entire origin story is a prime example as to why!”
This was unironically canon:
Anakin: tries to literally do the most for one ounce of approval
Obiwan: 😐 your desire for praise will be your undoing.
Anakin: 😦
Can you not see he is DESPERATE for something he’s done to be recognised. His inner child is begging to be seen. His outer child is doing its best to be worthy of it and every time he thinks “this is it, this time—“ he’s basically smited.
Anakin knows love and affection through the eyes of a slave. Blunt honesty and proof through care and being there (action) and staying through thick and thin. He doesn’t need you to burn down a planet because that’s HIS love language, thats how HE shows he cares, not how he needs others to show it.
Because he feels he’s not good enough—burning down a planet, in his mind, shows the people he cares for that he would do anything for them of it’s in his power to do so, and that he really means it when he says he loves them. Grand gestures are how HE shows love because he feels like anything else is as inadequate as he is
Being abandoned and never told he’s loved and cared for is a big reason his affections and attachments turn obsessive. He’s never been given anything concrete, he’s never shown that people care in a way he can understand. They think “I said hi to him and spoke up for him and trained him and gave him camaraderie—thats proof I love him” and think Anakin can properly differentiate it between duty and not.
He thinks, “my master is my master but he only cares for the Jedi and I can’t live without him but he could without me bc I’m a burden and will never be good enough or perfect like Obi-wan” bc Obi-wan isn’t honest with himself or Anakin, and you can see this etched into the very lines of his story no matter where you look.
He doesn’t say “i love you” to Anakin’s face until he’s literally chopped Anakin’s limbs off and left him to die on Mustafar, and even then it’s ambiguous. Anakin understands there is SOME sort of affection between him and Obi-wan that goes both ways but in the end, he never feels like he can truly tell Obi-wan anything without being shunned, misunderstood, or lectured, when all he needs is someone to talk to and hold close without fearing theyll leave him behind when he disappoints them.
One of the only people to ever outright tell Anakin what they feel was his mom, and she ended up dead bc Anakin was told he was being irrational about her and his visions of her death; and the fact that his mother was one of the only people to ever tell him she loved him and was proud, and that she was one of the only people who would never turn her back on him when he wasnt perfect (bc she thought he was perfect anyway. Her love for anakin was unconditional whereas everyone elses’ seemed to be very obviously conditional) and that terrified him bc following her death, the only other person left was Padmé, in their very unhealthy, very suspicious, co-dependant romance.
But even then, since she was the ONLY ONE he knew for sure how they felt, he was terrified something would happen to her and that she would leave him too—be it through death or finding someone to replace him (visions + irrationally believing she and Obi-wan were having an affair). He was obsessive and possessive and I honestly can’t blame him, especially from a psychological standpoint—and even more especially, from a child psychology standpoint. He was never given a reason or a chance to nurture any secure attachment style, especially when faced with the first 10 years of his life as a slave? Yikes.
He was obsessed with his relationships because he never had anything else to hold on to (from his perspective), and do you know who took gleeful advantage of that? Palpatine.
Anakin only wanted to be good enough, to make people proud, to give them a reason to tell him they love him. And maybe the one person he wanted to lure in the most was Obi-wan, who viciously shunned him for that, even when he would sparsely give anakin the praise he wanted so desperately
Anakin said, “I beat you! I won!” All giddy and self-assured after a spar with Obi-wan and instead of allowing that feeling of accomplishment, of the desire to make his master proud, Obi-wan just looked at him and said with shame, “Your need for praise will be your undoing,” and in the end, he wasn’t wrong. It was a self fulfilling prophecy.
Because in the end. The only person left who told Anakin he was proud was fucking slimy Palpatine, the dark lord of the goddamn sith.
Unfortunately, a lot of explicitly pro-jedi/jedi apologist fandom participants like to “interpret” the Jedi code themselves. They make these incredibly long-winded, well thought-out posts explaining the meaning and how it works in practice and how the jedi embody this—BUT they never actually consider or address the literal canon aspects. Things we actually see with our eyes: the novelisations, the games, the shows, the movies.
You’d think, therefore they must be, right? Wrong. You say this is what the Jedi are like and while that’s beautifully wonderful and I wish you were right—that’s literally not what happens. Literally not what they’re like at all. It’s actively part of the plot.
I think your interpretations of the code are great but you act like that’s the reality we’re actually living in. You act like that’s what the shows tell you, rather than just what you want to believe based on your own interpretation of the code itself (ignoring lack of congruency we sometimes see in the shows or movies).
My point is, you can love the jedi while acknowledging their VERY obvious flaws. The flaws that destroy them, corrupt them, misguide them, make them terrible people. The flaws that cannot be retconned by one writer saying “its an itch” while pretending Anakin’s “Anakin Skywalker is dead. I killed him” makes up for the horrible things Old Hermit Kenobi does with luke.
So yeah.
Lets at least be real when we’re loving who we love.

I think I once saw someone says that Tsukasa is possibly sensitive, like- He often doesn't really show what he's really feeling, but he's quick to jump to conclusions (Like the time he thought Amane hated him for some reason)
And, if u take a closer look at his eyes in this panel...

Tsukasa's eyes, of course, those eyes.
Particularly, the way the eyes are represented in this work is spectacular. The eyes can reflect the feelings of the characters without them needing to say a word, I like talking about these eyes, whether they are Amane, Yashiro, they speak and you noticed that.
Every now and then we see Hanako reflected in Yashiro's eyes, like a work of art, her eyes reflect him while shining brightly, what can you read by looking at them? The joy of seeing the person she loves again after so long, the surprise that he is there in front of her, and she has tried so hard that she is about to cry, and she actually does.
So take a good look at those eyes
So for a moment, Hanako looks like this
And in another, like this
The watery eyes, the ones that show that we are about to burst into tears at any moment. Those are Tsukasa's eyes too.
Baby Tsukasa is the more human version of him. We can see how loving and affectionate he is, whether with his parents, his brother and even with animals.
It's worth remembering that Tsukasa didn't know what that creature in the house did with the animals (not even us).
He is sentimental, but like Amane he shows it with attitudes, and even so he talks more than his brother. How many times did you see Tsukasa saying that he loved him?
How many times have you seen Amane say this?
If we make a comparison Amane loses very easily. Tsukasa demonstrates that he loves him even after death. Even though his brother was responsible for his death.
The moment we almost see Tsukasa cry is when he finds out that his older brother kills him in the future. Because Tsukasa apparently feels rejected by his brother, so he tries his best to make Amane love him.
His brother is sick, so he might be thinking "Amane doesn't like me, but what if I bring him a new ball, will he like me? What if I bring him another book?"
You see? Every moment we follow Tsukasa's childhood he is bringing something to Amane, he is doing something for Amane, he is by Amane's side, it is always Amane.
He is a twin, we know that twin brothers are more attached than ordinary brothers, so in addition to all this love between them, Tsukasa is about to lose the brother he loves so much to an illness.
Can you feel his pain?
"My brother is going to die, and he hates me, I want him to love me, I want him to live"
Tsukasa did what he could to save his brother, and the love he showed him was what he thought was right. Tsukasa loves toys, so he figured his brother would love them too.
Kou told him that just because they are twins doesn't mean they know everything about each other. That's what Tsukasa thought, if I love it, Amane loves it too, so I'll give it to him and he'll love me for it.
Then he finds out that the brother he tried so hard to save, who he did so much to be loved by, kills him.
So this reaction. A Tsukasa about to cry
Then the heartache came, he didn't come back just because he missed Amane, he came back to understand why his brother killed him.
It was as if he confirmed right there that Amane really hated him. Is there greater proof than this?
Then he comes back. And his eyes still reflect who he was, even though he's changed, don't you think?
The innocent eyes are here
and the melancholic ones too…. No shine
Just a dark blur
Proof that this hurt is reflected even in the sealed Tsukasa is the first thing he says to his brother when he meets him again.
"Will you protect her? but you killed me"
He will protect the girl using the knife that killed him. Can you feel the hurt in that sentence?
Even though he is hurt, Tsukasa shows that he loves him, no matter what version of him he is. He suffers because he tried so hard for this brother, he literally gave his life to save his, and Amane took Tsukasa's life again.
He received the first stab the moment he discovers this.
And he is about to cry, because his effort was in vain. He did everything for his brother, and his brother still hates him. That's what he thinks. So it's okay if Tsukasa does bad things, Amane really hates him, it doesn't matter anymore.
Tsukasa likes to see Amane's expressions, maybe because his brother doesn't say what he feels, but as I've said several times
His eyes reflect his feelings.
Tsukasa wants to see how Amane feels, and he gets it that way.
Then…
Baby Tsukasa has feelings, he shows it all the time. Don't confuse him with the sealed Tsukasa, this one is a chaotic mess that was created to control Amane, those dark dull eyes of the sealed Tsukasa are hard to read. There may be some feeling in him, but we don't know what and if he will show us.
One day we will know how Tsukasa really feels. For now I just want to hug him.

Ele é sentimental, mas assim como Amane ele demonstra com atitudes, e mesmo assim ele fala mais do que o irmão. Quantas vezes você viu Tsukasa falando que o amava?

Se fizermos uma comparação Amane perde com muita facilidade. Tsukasa demonstra que o ama mesmo após a morte. Mesmo o irmão sendo o próprio responsável por sua morte.
O momento em que quase vemos Tsukasa chorar é quando ele descobre que seu irmão mais velho o mata no futuro. Porque Tsukasa aparentemente se sente rejeitado pelo irmão, então ele se esforça ao máximo para fazer Amane amá-lo.
Seu irmão está doente, então ele pode estar pensando "Amane não gosta de mim, mas e se eu levar uma bola nova para ele, será que ele vai gostar de mim? E se eu levar outro livro?"
Você vê? Em todos os momentos em que acompanhamos a infância de Tsukasa ele está levando algo para Amane, está fazendo algo por Amane, está ao lado de Amane, é sempre o Amane.
Ele é gêmeo, nós sabemos que irmãos gêmeos são mais apegados que irmãos comuns, então além de todo esse amor entre eles, Tsukasa está a ponto de perder o irmão que ele tanto ama para uma doença.

Então ele descobre que o irmão que ele se esforçou tanto para salvar, que ele fez tanto para ser amado por ele, o mata.

hello i wanted to say this earlier when you were talking about the wiritng of duffer brothers and specifically how they will likely be bringing back the love triangle again and i just wanted to add how it feels like a step back for all three of them! i felt like nancy breaking up with steve was important for both of them, for steve to realise that he needs to do some serious introspection and let go of the life that he knows is fake, and for nancy it feels doubly important to not attempt to stick with something just because it was there in the past, and instead allow herself to move on from a stage she feels complete with and move onto what she really wants (johnathan), even if it's unconventional! and then for johnathan it felt like the more classic, someone is choosing me when i am not usually chosen moment. i honestly, truly, wouldn't even be that mad if they break jancy up, just because, y'know they're like 19-20, and it's okay for nancy to decide she wants to explore things outside of hawkins and it's pretty normal for most people, and would strengthen that "moving on" theme they were able to capture in s2, but if she goes back to steve.............hmmmm. feels unfair thematically for steve to go back to a person he dated during a specific period of his life he wants to get away from, feels unsatisfying for nancy wheeler to be delegated to Love Interest TM (as u mentioned) AGAIN, and feels bad for johnathan because omg why??!!?!? would u do that to a character whose already lost a lot of the importance and relevance that he used to have???? remember when he used to be the main character (not to mention they literally cut out his new friend argyle for the hell of it). idk i feel like after s2 they just stopped caring about a lot of these core characters and there are so many moments i could point to and be like hey guys nice regressing you did there.
my apologies, this is getting really wrong, but you mentioned that you like themes and i LOVE your themes it's very cathartic. i am excited for s3 to see character themes continue because i understand ur working with the show itself here but it immediately upset me when they made, like, russian soldiers, the main villain of the season. i felt like we had developed two very good seasons exploring the US's ability to use its citizen's bodies, especially women and girls' bodies, in its war for imperial power, and were doing some good digging at the crux of the cold war, with the upside down and its monsters making up great metaphors for the war crimes and unnatural horrors it's willing to unleash onto people as long as the government and military benefits, with brenner and the scientists and the labs all representing this part of the government. and then we get "russian communists are bad".......right......and i'm sure you believe that....... i understand that they needed like a new villain, but i think it would have been better for them to continue that thematic critique they had established already. like, the base being in the lab is perfect! wow! what an immediate link to capitalism and consumerism in reaganamics and the ways it is designed to hypnotise you to spend your money and feed the economy that thrives on unethical practices and can only exist if it has a population hooked into the addiction of product consumption that in turn provides the economics to increase the empire. DO SOMETHING WITH THAT, GODDAMIT. The mindflayer even mind controls people which fits so well into this theme but they insisted on having the russians be the human villains of the show and it blew it so bad for me :(. i don't know exactly what they should have done, but i think maybe even having a portal open to the upside down because of all the artificial-ness of the mall mixed with the constant ads trying to convince (ie control) people to bye stuff mixing with hawkins freakiness would have been more fulfilling for me. obviously i know you won't be doing anything like that but i'm excited to get some relief through character relationships from this huge problem i have with the duffer brothers.
yeaaaaah u can def tell the show was going a bit haywire once season 3 released BUT the seasons vibes were immaculate u cannot argue with that. however yeah its wack how they brought up some cool villains and powers and then just. dropped it. do we know what happened to all those flayed people ???
as for jonathans character just becoming less and less important as the seasons go on ,,,, i grieve that every day. he deserves so much better in that aspect. and nancy !!! and steve !!!! like the love triangle pisses me OFF !!!!

personally i think its really obvious that pietro is in marvel dungeon because of the mcu. i mean the comics exist predominately as fodder for the mcu atp. The avengers is mostly only mcu relevant characters and he can't be in x titles anymore cause of the retcon. In that way I do think he was impacted much more then wanda since she is still mcu popular so she doesnt get shafted from most avengers stuff + like you said the magic stuff gives her more opportunities. ironic that his return is in an x-men orientated avengers book lmao. Do you have any ideas how they can keep him regularly appearing assuming he cant be in main avengers or x men books still?
Well, the obvious answer is just to put him in secondary or "adjective" Avengers books. I don't think anything is stopping Marvel from running multiple Avengers titles-- they've been doing it for years. The whole line is kind of relaunching right now, so they could do anything. And while I do agree that the M C U has a lot of undue influence on comics, it's not total. It might be hard to swing another Quicksilver solo series right now, but if writers are interested in including him in their lineups, they can find a way to make it happen.
As far as I'm aware, the current Uncanny is a miniseries, but we could see more things like it in the future-- it's looking more and more like the Krakoan era is coming to an end, and the strict boundaries between X-Men and non-X-Men titles have been loosening for a while now.
A couple other strategy ideas to boost Pietro's relevance--
Allowing the Inhumans to come back in some way would be helpful, because having Luna and/or Crystal around would create another landing place for him.
I would really like to write/read a story about Pietro and Luna for Marvel's Voices. Luna would be a great character to start a conversation about Romani heritage-- what it means to her dad, versus what it means to her as somebody that's mixed and grew up outside of the culture; why it's important for her to reconnect with that and figure out how she feels about now that she's coming of age. Obviously, that's not going to do much for Pietro's presence in ongoing comics, but I think it would be special and it would help readers understand him better.
Between Agatha and Wanda, we've been circling some interesting stuff about chaos magic, Mount Wundagore, witches and covens. If Wanda shows up for some kind of reckoning or resolution with all that, I want her to show up with her whole family, representing one of the most powerful witch lineages in the Marvel world. That could be Tommy and Pietro's way in to the magic world, and even if they don't become magical characters, you could still find a role for them to play that would allow them to stay in that orbit more often.
^ the above point would be especially relevant to Pietro if Mount Wundagore ends up being an important setting again. It's his home, just as much as it is Wanda's, and he used to be really involved with the Knights and stuff.
The main Avengers title has been global, even cosmic, in scale for a long time. I think a spin-off or side series à la Avengers West Coast with slightly more down-to-earth heroes could be a really fun companion to that. There are a lot of really fun characters that are just not being used much anymore, and Pietro is ostensibly friends with a lot of them. He fits in pretty well with the sort of team you might build around, say, Hawkeye, you know?
