Idk if it's just this last season of Disenchantment or I'm just noticing it now, but there are a more than fair amount of times when characters are making sounds without their mouths animated to move or just overall they're not being as expressive physically as the voice acting is.

thoughts on finale of disenchantment/s5 overall (specifically relating to bean and mora), i think it’s great that we got a sapphic couple that ended up together and it was just treated as normal by everyone, i don’t want to downplay that (although even though she got brought back shortly them killing mora wasn’t great), but i had headcanoned bean as aro and i think a lot of her previous behavior and lines can be read that way, so it just was a bit of a bummer that it was like no actually she just needed to meet the right person and then she’s always talking about how she has the power of love and that makes her stronger and that just wasn’t really doing it for me, luci choosing to use his wish to bring back mora even though it meant he’d be stuck in heaven forever because his platonic love for bean was so strong was more meaningful i think, anyway, i can still stay an aro sapphic bean truther bcs her and mora are great together

I watched the last season as soon as it dropped. It was a pretty epic and I couldn’t stop watching until I finished the entire thing. But of course that’s what binging is. Like the Summer Camp Island series I watched before, I felt a sense of sadness during the series finale. It’s such a big departure from The Simpsons and Futurama where nothing really changes. One other thing it has common with Futurama (besides the skin colors) was the fact they went hard on the finale episode. Seeing our main characters get their happily ever afters but have everything change is just so bittersweet. Our main group having to part ways which I didn’t expect at all just drudges up feels. But I’m glad everything wrapped up. Especially with the way Netflix has been so iffy with the other animated productions. I hope to see a companion series to Disenchantment soon. As a comic book. Or as one of those Simpsons books where they provide those added bonus features and commentary.

F*ck it I had a little skim, S5 is a season that wasn't overly 'monstery' compared to the early seasons but I settled on some specific eps to perhaps glance at (only if you want to though!!! I totally get the disenchantment and wound up listing more here than I meant to) (the 'for fun's' are obvs subjective but there's certain scenes that might trigger doodle ideas)
Ep 1 sorta settles some fallout from the S4 finale. Might not be interesting but lays out some context.
Ep 2 not 'monstery' per se but might tickle a particular itch if you possess it
Ep 5+7 for fun?
Ep 8 for fun and an importantish reveal
Ep 9 is fun
Ep 10 is one of the bigger episodes for S5's overarching story
Ep 11 was one I quite liked personally
Ep 14 was one I also quite liked
Ep 15+17 might brush lightly against a particular itch
Eps 18 onwards head off the "f*ck destiny" journey, but for specifics 19 is a personal fave and latter half of 21 introduces one of my fave dudes
Again, wound up with a longer list than I thought, but I also totally understand the meh-ness after the Heaven plot! Hopefully there's something on this list that works for you

Currently working on: I’m still writing Prince’s Guard (at a pace slower than a snail but progress is progress). I’m also trying to crochet an elephant without using a pre-existing pattern. Lately I’ve been too busy with starting uni to work on much.
Current obsession: Good Omens remains very much in obsession territory, and of course Ghosts and OFMD with the new seasons. ROTE and Fitzloved are ever present. Also lately I’ve been thinking a lot about Those Old Men from Les Mis (Valjean and Javert) so that definitely qualifies too.
