WAHOO Arc Fest (Wargaming and Mini event) is done, we really went for the painting competition and it went pre well - Squint took home a medal, a bunch of commendeds, and I missed out on a medal by a sliver but the Dunk took home a commended so that concludes the Melbourne event circuit - now I can retire it and send it to my parents :)

Shoutout to the Heresy players as always, and now we are exhausted - but I've got tomorrow to relax so naturally I'm just gonna draw more spn shitposts while I think about what new mini project I need to start working on for next year.

Need to get the thought out of my head so I can fall asleep - but look I just think that it'd be neat if Sam developed more overt side effects to tapping into the part demon side of him. Ok I'm not very far into S4 so bear with me but I already know the shows not going to go as far as I want - but imagine if he started to get the black eyes while using the powers once he's at "psychic exorcism" level and other such things and like. Deans not gonna take that well. Oh dear you're slowly becoming less human and you were already deeply self conscious about how your brother viewed you after you developed premonitions?? Oops now he's screaming and throwing holy water at your face because your eyes are pitch black. It has no effect. You are both mortified.

Turns out making your characters interact with your current fandom obsession is an extremely good and fun idea.

O'Byrne and Roy are from Virtual Ground, a post-Y2K horror story where the internet is haunted and parallel universes exist - set in Australia, circa 2003.

This crossover is just for laughs, Virtual Ground - Abroad. My freaks get to fight ghosts and the Winchesters discover that when the Aussies say your PC has a worm they mean it literally.

Ok SOMEHOW I'd missed watching Mystery Spot from S3 and I've since rectified that colossal error and I have only two thoughts:

They write Sam so good when he goes off the rails. Wish we had more of that thanks. C'mon. Unhinge him a bit more.

O'Byrne and Dean would just end up in an awful little cycle of purposefully being as annoying and shitty as possible to each other and everyone around them.

Virtual Ground, abroad. There's no fucking way Sam's getting Dean on a plane so my idiot's are in America, probably for a good reason. Let's say research as there's [REDACTED] reasons that tie the USA and Australian governments together in Virtual Ground so there's an excuse somewhere for a little holiday work trip.

O'Byrne and Dean would NOT get along until they do, so they just violently flip flop between staring each other down (because they're practically the same height) and disagreeing on purpose, to being in complete synchronicity over something truly stupid, like stopping by a diner that says it's famous for a really weird flavor of breakfast waffles.

Because it'd be funny, this is why they accidentally run into each other first, and somehow Roy and Sam also meet up. My discord notes read as: Dean meets a woman that isn't immediately attracted to him and Sam has to deal with a very depressed short guy.

O'Byrne and Dean are just driving somewhere after presumably some incident happened and you get quality dialogue such as:

"Yeah, nah I reckon you'll have to chuck a uey up here."

"I have no goddamn clue what half those words mean."

And then after a turbulent car trip, interrupted by a mutual agreement to go to McDonalds, they arrive at whatever motel the brothers are staying in and they just find a very dejected pair of Sam and Roy with one destroyed laptop with something fleshy and awful half-crawled out of it, dead in a pool of blood on the floor.

While attempting to deal with something manifesting out of a fucking laptop Sam busts out the holy water, much to Roy's dismay.

"What the hell you think that's gonna even do?? This isn't a TV show!"

Like, O'Byrne and Roy have been dealing with this shit for 2-3 years - this would make the most sense in 2005-6, so S1-2. Sam and Dean are accomplished Demon and Ghost hunters, not 'Worms coming out of my modem' exterminators.

Anyway the awful 2 arrive, late, with Maccas, walk in like "Sammy I'm back!", O'Byrne's like "Oh shit, Roy!"

And Sam and Roy are just staring at them, furious, splattered with blood like "Who the hell is that and where the hell were you??"

"We were on a 'maccas run' Sam."

I think Sam and Roy would be initially suspicious, mostly cause Sam's arguably in the most turbulent period of his life aside from childhood, and Roy's got comparative buckets of trauma from a lot of Really, REALLY weird shit happening to him as of late. But maybe over the corpse of a fucked up computer monster dead body, and Roy's strange calmness with handling it, they bond, and find out they have a lot to relate to. They're the research + emotional connection powerhouse duo. Roy initially comes off as much more cold and blunt but he's able to connect with people, and read them damn fast and he clocks Sam's whole Deal very quickly and to O'Byrne's utter shock they get along (though neither Dean nor her are ever around to see them have any conversations that show WHY they get along, Roy is reserved and saves it for the moments alone).

Sam takes one look at O'Byrne, see's how Dean reacts to her and just goes "no thank you, he's already too much to deal with" but he's very entertained by how she takes some of the heat off of him. She's nicer to him than he is in return, she is oblivious to this because Dean's a huge distraction and they keep pissing each other off.

Dean does not get Roy. Roy does not laugh at his jokes and references. Roy avoids eye contact until he doesn't, and he will stare into your soul until you look away. Roy has a resting stern face (he does not realise he does it) and this just has the unfortunate effect of reminding Dean of every authority figure he ever didn't get along with and so: rest in pieces Roy. The added effect of 'Why is Sam so friendly with you' doesn't help, because this just increases the suspicion levels to over a hundred - this just compounds them to both dislike each other more. This amuses O'Byrne greatly, but its like they're all trying to decide "Who do I dislike the least here.... Hmmm..."

The four of them working a case, designed for either party would be hysterical to me.

On the Winchester's side you have "What do you mean ghosts are real??????????????" and "Is that a fucking shotgun??? You're putting WHAT in it????"

And then on the Australian's side you've got "The internet can't be haunted." and "No, Hell is real, I'm going to assume that's what you mean by alternate realities"

God forbid they see O'Byrne do any technology manipulation because if Dean did he'd be grabbing the anti-human shotgun shells.

For your considerstion: Virtual Ground x Supernatural crossover.

FOLLOW UP to yesterday's post - more Ghostfacers bullshit. Spent last night in a half asleep state with the distinct mental image of Dean just slowly stalking around an abandoned house yelling out "SAMMEYYY" in an unhinged tone with a stupid grin on his face just trying to be as creepy as possible, and A) it works and maybe actually starts to scare Sam a little bit because B) maybe this is the first time as a ghost he starts to display some behavior that blurs the line between Committing to the Bit and him actually becoming a violent spirit

Some miscellaneous Ghost Dean AU bits kicking around in my head that I may or may not get around to drawing/writing drabbles of but there's only so much time in the day and if I don't extract the ideas my head is going to burst, so:

-Dean's a stubborn bastard so given the info on the 'ghosts' page on the wiki, I think its safe to say after he gets the hang of manifesting within the car, it's not too long before he can control the car - then haunt in the vicinity around wherever the car's parked. He knows what ghosts can do, and likely just says "I want to teleport. I'm going to teleport."

-This leads onto the next concept of Sam just shoving someone into the passenger seat, of the empty impala, presumably after they were just attacked by a monster, then yelling towards the driver's side "Take them somewhere safe, and don't be weird!!" and bolting off. The person just watches Sam run, jumps when suddenly the doors lock by themselves, looks back and Dean is just sitting there like "Hey what's up, heard you need a ride." then he just takes off as this person's screaming.

-He pisses Sam off too much one day and the dude pours salt on the door and windows of whatever motel room he's in and Dean's just stuck outside like, you motherfucker. "I was stuck inside the car for a year please I want to pretend I'm alive again!"

-On the topic of him haunting the general vicinity of an area + ghosts ability to see other ghosts and incorporeal creatures, for your consideration: Ghostfacers episode, but the bros are checking out an alleged haunted location and they conclude: there is nothing there, it's clean. On the way out Sam runs into the Ghostfacers crew (Dean probably dips, or was conveniently in another room at the time, dude's probably relishing in the ability to just Not Be There when he wants to just cause it pisses off Sam) and they're like "OH SHIT IT'S YOU! What happened to the other guy???" and Sam just panics and spitballs:

"Oh, he uh, he died. One year ago, today in fact. In this very house. You guy's shouldn't be here!"

And then they proceed to riff off each other and just scare the living shit out of these poor people. Dean just manifests like "SAYUM, YOU LET ME DIEEEE!!! YOU COULDN'T SAVE MEEE!!!", the Ghostfacers team are screaming, Sam is trying not to laugh. If they try and leave Dean just appears at the doorway looking intimidating and they bolt in the opposite direction, or Sam just pretends to try and open and door and goes "Oh my god he's locked us in!!"

Nothing is more powerful than two siblings putting aside their differences to absolutely ruin some other peoples day (instead of trying to ruin each others.)
