I'm telling ya if you want people to get better then you have to be nice to them. you have to make an effort to understand why they currently act the way they do and give them compassionate encouragement, it's both way nicer and a million times more effective than trying to slap a bad behaviour out of someone's hands and scream at them about why they were holding it in the first place. maybe you're not up to making that effort, fine, but in that case just do nothing instead of being a dick.

Please be careful if you’re attending any pro-Palestine actions or events. As with any crowd situation, stay alert, keep an eye on your surroundings, and be aware of your exits. If you go to an event solo please just say hey to a few people and ask if you can walk/stand with them, it’s better than being alone. Walk people to their cars afterwards and keep an eye out for children, elderly, and those with medical needs. Make yourself aware of first aid resources (usually people with backpacks and first aid cross signs). Stay peaceful, don’t engage with harassers. Bring water for yourself and your neighbor.

I think it's so important to accept that having lived experience as an lgbt person doesn't automatically make you an expert or voice of authority on the related politics, history, and theory, and there will sometimes even be occasions where someone not of your group knows more than you do about these things (and this isn't necessarily you being 'spoken over')

want 2 emphasize that this is very much just my haphazard personal experience and i'm sure there are many circles in which things are different

i keep thinking like, okay, as a ~multigender attracted~ genderqueer person i'm, like, theoretically just as eligible for queer women's spaces as i am for queer men's spaces (which is another way of saying, just as ineligible, but), and i definitely wouldn't mind having, like, Queer Attraction to Women be more of a presence on my dash, why have i mostly followed people who are attracted to dudes???

and then a random wlw thirst trap makes its way onto my dash and i think like, hi, yeah, i'm here for that! and then at the bottom it says MEN DNI and i'm like oh right. literally that's why

because like. (again, ime, this is all entirely In My Randomly Selected Personal Experience and not a claim about All People or Spaces That Exist) queer men aren't generally out there slapping dnis all over their posts that force you to like. call a time out to debate how the OP would probably read yr gender and then take a dip in the misery pond about how that makes you feel (which is 'bad,' btw. how it makes me feel is: bad.) and then decide whether you want to disavow whatever inchoate ambiguous dubious claim on masculinity you might possibly have, for the even more dubious reward of getting to click 'like' on this thirst trap. and like. at that point it's always just like. anyone who'd ask me to do that isn't in fact someone i like!

new yard has a stretch of really shitty fencing, including a four inch gap where it just doesn't reach the far wall. would probably be sufficient to contain a dog-sized dog but unfortunately i possess a cat-sized dog. and i didn't want to replace it on my own dime. so behold:

Those posts that are like “unpopular opinion but Taylor Swift’s lyrics are mediocre and if you think they’re great that’s sad” are actually so unnecessary. I cannot imagine seeing someone talking about lyrics they think are brilliant and taking the time to comment something like “actually you’re basic and your taste is sad” in response. It’s honestly a pathetic move. It doesn’t matter which artist is being dissed, it’s about putting others down for loving something popular to fuel your own superiority complex. It’s just embarrassing and childlike behavior.

So my husband and 3yo get back from the grocery store this afternoon and start unloading.

My husband usually gets me a few chocolate bars of a particular brand. Which he did this week. But all of a sudden he pulls out a random other chocolate bar from a different brand.
