actually obsessed with how uncompelling I (subjectively) found the ending of carmilla. everything until then has been so driven by laura's internal life and her relationship with carmilla and then it just. stops. carmilla is not present in the last third of the novella that is named after her. laura just stops reflecting on how any of this makes her feel, she simply goes along with the events and keeps herself to herself. are these memories too painful for her to go into detail about her thoughts? did she feel betrayed? by carmilla? by her father? she gave this account years and years after the events, and we know she died sometime after, but how? was it due to the incurable effects of being fed on by a vampire? we simply don't know, because the last section of the story is just three guys monologueing at each other while laura is also there. obsessed.

do you think insight can be gained about an author from the stories they write?
no. authors are like squids and can only be understood through spirited but ultimately futile combat

Could we please have some fun facts about the great state of Massachusetts?
Massachusetts is by far the likeliest state in America to have a Nantucket. Several reports of at least one Martha's Vineyard and possibly even a Cape Cod have also emerged. If true, it would make Massachusetts the spiralliest state, as Cape Cod is basically the golden spiral of Capes as well as Cods.
Massachusetts has a rich history, which for some reason my old schoolbooks only date back to 1620 despite the area likely having existed before then. History in Massachusetts consists of tea parties, men with the last name Adams, towns also named Adams, and also Matt Damon, who was born Adam A. Adams.
Massachusetts also has a rich future, including the Boston Retro Speedrun Festival where the Super Mario 4:50 barrier will be broken, the Boston Phoning-In Music Festival where Ariana Grande will reveal her next new ethnicity, and the Boston Molasses Factory Grand Reopening, at which nothing at all will go wrong.

they need to institute a feature on tumblr where if you try to make a post that uses the word 'neoliberal' as a synonym for 'faux progressive' you get automatically rerouted to the google search results page for the word 'neoliberal'

I'm new to the tma fandom, and have heard recently about your fake discourse blog, so I decided to check it out. Huh. You guys really lived like that?
my favorite thing about running that blog was that for every post I'd get 3-5 responses of "I forgot to read the url and almost had a heart attack." my least favorite thing about running that blog was when I'd make a comedically exaggerated discourse claim and then see someone say it seriously two weeks later.
