Hey, I saw one of your posts "Deaf S/O with characters knowing ASL" maybe could I get something similar but with teaching characters who you think might be willing or want to learn it for their S/O?

Gundham Tanaka

❤ He is interested, horribly interested. He already knows the basic command terms in JSL to communicate with his more intelligent animals, but ASL, and for a human, seems like almost a fun little project.

❤ He uses his mouth a lot when he signs and it's just something he picked up from JSL. You love it when he signs to you, his intense eyes sometimes wonder, as he is not used to looking at a person for so long, though he never looks at you like he's too concentrated (he raises his eyebrows when he needs, and he smiles when he needs too).

❤ He is a more teach-me-casually type of person.

❤ To you specifically, he is more calm and he uses his inside voice, so when he signs it portrays that. Sometimes he shows a devilish smile that perfectly portrays his sense of wicked-ness (the one that he tries to give off), and you think it's amusing how sometimes his evil aura can be genuine.

❤ He knows animal signs the best, and not because he picks up on them but because he studies them extra hard. He wants to be able to communicate his heavy appreciation of animals.

❤ He has a lot of his own versions of signing "come over here".

❤ There's something a bit flamboyant about the way he decides to sign his own name - it's as if he practices how to introduce himself.

❤ His radiant smile gives a glow to every word he decides to say, he is so handsome that sometimes it steals your breath away.

❤ He signs some things wrong and he doesn't even notice, he does it so often that sometimes you secondguess yourself - am I doing it wrong?

❤ He went from originally having nothing to say, but the more you sit down with him and teach him, he talks a lot.

❤ It's easy to teach him nouns but once it comes to verbs and especially adjectives he's like woah there.

❤ He doesn't pick up ASL fast, because who would, but he gets the sentence structure and the grammar perfectly, and you're very amazed by that.

Kyoko Kirigiri

❤ She is the most interested as well as one of the most willing. She thinks knowing some sign languages might make her investigations a lot smoother, especially considering it gives her easy accessibility to talking to more hypothetical suspects. The SHSL Detective does a lot of planning for future situations.

❤ She likes it when you sit down in front of her like a teacher and teach her some words. She'd rather learn like that than you tell her random words throughout the day.

❤ She is a note-taker and a flashcard learner.

❤ Her biggest struggle is her straight face. She has to maneuver her eyebrows and lip shape now? MAn.

❤ Tries to figure out how to use big words but she quality realizes really one of the main differences between excellent and good is facial expressions.

❤ She still uses "interesting" a lot.

❤ ^ She even got the raising of eyebrows.

❤ Her levels of communication are a lot more advanced than other people, and even for her consistent solitude she still finds a way to be mildly appealing to talk to when it comes to conversations she wants to be in. And she wants to be in almost every conversation in ASL since it requires the commitment of actually recognizing she knows it.

❤ Plus, it's good practice. Day-to-day conversations slowly become sign-based.

❤ There is also the tinge of secrecy that she likes about ASL. Especially in Japan, not many people know sign language, nevertheless one from another country, so she finds a good sense of pride in knowing it and being able to communicate to you in public.

❤ Hey, if you're ever a part of an investigation (actively) she will have confidence in your presence.

Mitarai X Drowsy Reader(male)

Warnings: Spoilers For Danganronpa, mentions of suicide, trauma, panic attack, mentions of blood, twisted thought process

This is Fluff, unlike my usual horny posts. The way trauma is delt with and twisted perspectives one can have are a key theme.

So another repost from my old writing account so it might be a little bad, but I remember this one fondly as one of my past favourites.

Mitarai POV

'Run! Just run! Run away! Maybe... Maybe if I run far enough she won't see me. She won't- I won't- have to see such things again. Yea... Yea! That's right! If I just run away everyone- Everyone will forgive me. Everyone will be safe. I won't have to... I won't have to...'

I tripped and fell in the mud yet again, the panic of witnessing everyone fall into despair still fresh in my mind. The image of HER face still haunting my memories.

'Its all my fault. Its all... My fault. Everyone is gone. My classmates, my friends, HIM! The one person who kept me safe... Is gone. I never- I never even knew his name. AND ITS ALL MY FAULT!'

I screamed, pounding the mud with my clenched fists. 'I couldn't help it! I was being threatened. Its not my fault. No it isn't! I just wanted to make anime! I just wanted to spread hope! The same hope I felt! So why... Why... Why were there so many bodies? Why... Was so much blood splattered...

Why did my only friend... Look at me only in despair.

Why

"My friends they're all gone" I crocked out, still lying face filled in mud as rain continued to hammer my back. "I didnt know your name" my eyes refreshed as new tears formed. "I didnt thank you As much as I should have..." I clenched my eyes, burying my head further into the wet ground.

"IM SORRY!"

My yells of pain fell on deaf ears as my surrounding soon fell into quiet, the only sound being the rains impact on the ground.

I wimmpered softly and curled myself into a ball in the mud. Maybe if I just close my eyes everything would be better when they open. A new hope will wake me up and say "everything is okay". I will go back to my apartment and He will still be there waiting for me. I will start going back to school with all my classmates and get to know them. I will embrace the future. Yes! I'm sure when my eyes open again the tears will be gone, and HOPE will bless me...

Of course that never happened

Was that a voice?

"Yahoo~"

It is. What's the point?

"Oi oi oi~"

Hesitantly opening my eyes I noticed a shadow blocking the sun from my face.

Looking up I was met with a pair of drowsy looking eyes and a lob sided looking smile.

"I dont think sleeping in the mud is a good idea. No one would want to cuddle you if youre all dirty" he said in a quiet voice.

My eyes woke up and I could see him full. My eyes, they hurt...

"Let's get you cleaned up, then have tea and cuddle!" He sang and grabbed my wrist.

"Wha-!?"

He began pulling me away from the mud. My legs struggled to balance myself as he continued to walk, his drowsy smile still plastered on his face as he looked forward.

"W-who are you?! What do you want to do to me?! Where are we going?!" I asked in shock.

"Doesn't matter. Cuddle. Home."

"What?" I asked out of breath.

He stopped walking and turned to face me, his eyes sleepy and calm.

"My name is ------, Ultimate Sleep Therapist. Let's go home and get cleaned up. Have some tea, some cake, make a fire..." He stared to dose off slightly "get some blankets... Watch some TV... And cuddle... I like that idea." And then he began walking again, hand still clasped into mine.

'Is he mad?! That luxury in this situation?! The world is in a panic right?!'

"What! What about the world?! Youve heard the news right?! We are all going to die! No matter where we go SHE will find me! SHE will! And then SHE will make you fall into despair to! DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!"

He didnt say anything, only dragged me along with that same smile.

"Why?" I croaked out as tears began "Why are you like this? The world is ending and its all my fault.Why do you want to do this? There is no hope. There is no reason to eat cake or sleep. There is no reason to smile. So why... WHY?!"

Yet he still didnt respond. Smiling and slightly humming he continued to drag me along as my will to do anything to stop him died.

"We're here~" he sang.

I looked up from the ground and at the building in front of me. It was small and quiet. Away from the city or anyone else. That wouldn't save us though. SHE will find me eventually.

"Let's go take a bath." He opened the door and dragged me inside. Inside had minimal furniture but it was still cozy.

"Sit here" he said, dropping me on his overly plush couch.

"I'll run you a bath." He smiled and then left to a room near the kitchen.

It was at that moment all my emotions exploded again. Everything. Tears ran from my eyes as I clutched my face, my body aching everywhere. There was no point to this! Nothing!

"All done~"

"Well? Get in." (M/n) said from behind me.

He emerged from the bath room, a towel and what looked to be spare clothes in his hand. I stopped crying and walked towards him, my eyes on his wooden floor. Honestly, I was too tired for... Anything, even resisting him. I walked in the bathroom to a strong vanilla scent, bubbles covered the layer of water in the bath and insent sticks light slowly simmering, releasing the smell into the air.

"Huh?! B-but your still in here?"

"And? I'll wash your hair for you." He then placed the towels and clothes to the side and rolled up his sleeves, placing himself on a stool near the head of the bath.

"L-look away first!"

"All good?" He asked, eyes still closed as he sat outside the bath behind me.

"Understood" he easily closed his eyes and tilted his head up, as if looking to the ceiling. I quickly rid of my muddy clothes and sat in the bath, bubbles enveloping my aching body giving me a second of relief from my physical and mental pain.

"Ye-yea" I stuttered out. I dont think I've ever been in this situation before, we are both men so its not weird, right?

He opened his eyes and his smile returned to his face.

"All righty. Look forward for me okay? I'll start washing your hair."

I did as told and closed my eyes to evade the water and soap as he began to lather the shampoo into my hair.

"So... What's your name?" He asked.

'Right! He doesn't even know my name! Wait... Thats even worse now! What's wrong with this guy?! We are in panic and he just helps a random person! He could die! He is going to die! We all ar-'

"Hey hey, relax, no point being tense right?"

I began to slowly shake

"Mitarai... Ryota Mitarai. Thats my name. I'm from the Hopes Peak Academy, the Ultimate Animator."

"Ooohhh~ that's cool. Well in case you forgot, I'm -----, The Ultimate Sleep Therapist."

'Ultimate Sleep Therapist? I've never heard of him'

"What grade are you? I've never seen you before. Yet again I hadn't seen anyone really."

He stopped lathering my hair for a brief moment and then continued.

"No no, I'm not a recognized Ultimate so I wasnt given an invitation to Hopes Peak."

'Recognized? Not attending Hopes Peak'

"Then... How?"

"Well, I believe I'm an Ultimate even if no one else thinks so. I like sleeping, helping others sleep, watching others sleep or just being asleep... Its nice"

'This guy is just delusional! He's not an Ultimate.'

"Oh okay" I peeped out just as a response.

The rest of the bath was quiet. He finished washing my hair and let me clean off the rest of the mud. The bath was relaxing, I guess but it wont help, nothing will.

The strange man stayed in the bathroom the whole time, dreamily smiling and often just closing his eyes as if sleeping.

With out him noticing I rushed out for the towel and then put the clothes on, the shirt hanging off my figure and a pair of shorts to match, a lot different from my usual suit.

"You look cute~"

"Huh?!"

He was looking at me with his sleepy look again, he always was, always smiling.

"Lets get some tea and cake~"

He then stood up and emptied the bath, placed my dirty clothes in a wash basket and left the room to the kitchen, leaving me just standing there clutching the clothes he had given me to wear.

"Mimi, come here, cake" he called out holding a slice.

'Mimi?'

I sat at the table with him and ate my cake. My mind still running in worry even after the relaxing bath. What is he going to do regarding the violence and riots? What does he imagine his future will be? How is he so calm?

I decide to speak up." What... What are you going to do? Regarding the riots?"

He looked up to me from his slice of cake.

"What about it?"

"What will you do if... When, they come for you?"

"Ooohhh" he sang in realization. A some what twisted smile slowly formed on his face.

"I have a plan for that. You see, I don't like being scared. Ive never liked horror movies or scare houses, even the funny ones. I hate being traumatized and I dont want to die or live in fear. So I have a little plan."

He finished his last bite of cake and sipped his tea.

"What is it? Why sit here out in the open then? Sure we are just outside the city but they will come eventually. No plan will save you. If you havent been listening to me then know NOTHING WILL SAVE YOU FROM HER!"

A sudden slam hit the table infront of me, his lazy smile still adorned on his face as his hand lay against the table holding something

...

A gun.

"I will use this"

"A GUN WONT SAVE YOU! There are too many!"

"No. I only have one target."

'What... You mean. He would kill himself just so that he wouldnt be afraid?'

"Then what's the point of delaying it? Why not just kill yourself now and be rid of the pain? I- I- I..." Tears began to fall yet again.

"You see I would but I don't think I'd be able to feel anything when I'm dead. I like that feeling of sleep, of cuddles, a warm embrace of space engulfing me. If I were dead that sleep would be cold and stale so I'd perfer to feel that comfort as much as possible."

He then stood from his chair and walked to my side as I continued to cry out. His arms reached out and pulled me into a warm hug.

"There there. There there. Let's go to the couch? I have lots of warm blankets."

Reluctantly I went to the large couch and fell atop it, he then layed himself next to me and covered our bodies in a thick blanket. He continued to pull me so my head cradled in his neck, his arms wrapped around me and slowly stroked up and down my back.

"Cry. Its okay. Its good to cry. Let your feelings out and then fall asleep, you always feel better." This suicidal sleep addict... Was right.

My eyes became heavy and the warmth of his embrace slowly rocked me to sleep.

I had been with this guy for a couple months now. Things never got better on the outside. A killing game started at Hopes Peak, people were dying everyday and nearly the whole world was thrown into despair. I was still scared and traumatized but the calming time spent with him helped to relax me slightly and let reality settle. I was still nervous about stuff but it was better. He would talk to me and listen also providing many hugs and cuddles in times of need. He had also changed slightly. I guess my worrying slightly motivated him to stay alive just that little bit more. He said he would still end himself if the situation was bad but at least he wouldn't if there was a chance of surviving so we both grew... Only slightly though, but that small bit helped motivate me. A message from the Future Foundation came asking for my assistance. If it weren't for ---- I would still be too scared to even try but now I had a chance to help, even just a little... Maybe.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

"You gonna go?" The now familiar sleepy face asked me as we sat on the couch.

"Yea. Its my only chance. I know I'm still weak and scared but I have a chance to help undo my mess, I guess."

"Its just a small meeting right?" He asked, worry slightly stained his sleepy face, he had changed.

"Right. With the head of Future Foundation, he said I could help. This is just a small meeting so I should be okay. Apparently there will be a bigger one later with all the leaders but thats only in the future."

His face relaxed back to his usual dozy smile. "Good good. Ive gotten used to having you to cuddle and no pillow will give me that same feeling."

He then leaned down and slowly plopped down on me, trapping me in a hug as we lay on the couch.

"Hehe, warm. You're so warm"

My face went red of embarrassment as he began to snuggle further into my chest. My face got hotter and hotter.

"Huh?!" I asked snapping out as he sat up and then pulled me onto his lap and snuggled into my sleeve.

"You may be a bunch of nervousness but you're cute and I wanna cuddle you so... Stay by me okay? When you go out, stay safe, okay?"

"Okay, I will"

I then felt my sleeves begin to get wetter near his face. 'huh?'

"Stay... Stay safe okay?" It wasn't his usual voice, it was cracked, it was scared.

"When you can, come back. You have to come back." I moved to see his face. He was crying. For the first time I saw him cry. He had always been one combination of emotions, drowsy and calm but now, tears fell from his eyes as his met mine.

"And stay healthy. And... And"

He broke down, falling into my lap and holding me close. His sobs echoed out through out the house.

Tears formed in my eyes as I saw him grasp at me. Alone. He was alone. He even planned to die alone but now, Now I'm here. He must, he must really appreciate me.

"Mitarai I Love You"

...

'Huh?'

"I love you... I love you!"

" I..."

I sat dombfounded. He Loved me. Not just appreciated or was thankful to but actually loved.

My voice was quiet and slow.

"I think I do too"

He raised his head from my lap, tears streaming down both our faces. He then... He then smiled.

"Ha... Haha... Hahaha" he laughed and jumped at me holding me close.

I'm still not sure of myself. I'm still scared and afraid of Junko and the despair out in the world. I still don't forgive myself but I'm better now, I can at least try now thanks to the man whom was able to calm my heart.

(Skip to before Future Arc.)

(M/n) POV

The wolrd has gotten calmer, slightly at least. Junkos death brought hope to the rest of us, the remanates of despair were also captured and contained which helped in our battle for hope. Mitarai was a bit sad about that. His dear friend had been one of them and I guess to see someone close to you treated like a villian hurts, but now the world was just that little bit brighter.

"Mimi?" I called out for him.

"Y-yea?" He called from his room.

We had been moved to somewhere safer, Mitarai had been involved with the Future Founfations Head so my little house was a bit risky to stay in, lucky we had gone here together. Me and him. Him and I. Its been a few years right? Since we met?

He was still scared. He still couldn't escape the past which haunts him. No amount of cuddles or cake could solve that. This despair needs to end and then maybe, maybe we can return to some type of normal life. I accepted the fact I couldn't solve this, this was something he had to get over but it broke me when ever he would wake up crying or rant about how everything was his fault, but there were still good times. The life we shared, the memories. He still wanted to be by a lazy ass like myself, and I'm happy he did.

"You have that meeting today right?" I ask him. It was supposed to be important from what I heard, about Makotos Judgement.

"Y-yea... I don't know why I'm involved but If Tengan wants me then I should go right?"

"Yea. Stay safe though okay? And try not be too nervous. I'm sure Tengan wouldn't put you in deliberate danger but still keep an eye out."

"R-right!" He nodded as he nervously adjusted his tie and prepped himself.

I took a couple steps close to him. I wasnt a recognized Ultimate so I wasnt seen much or chosen to go so this was all I could get.

"Mitarai?" I asked behind his back. "Y-yea" he turned around to look at me. I took my change an grabbed his lips with mine, enjoying the feeling of him being confused at first and slowly settling down.

Our lips unlocked, my sleepy eyes still focused on his.

"Bye-bye" I sang and gave my signature smile.

"R-right. Bye" he stuttered out and left.

'I'll be here when you get back. It will be okay. Your Ultimate Sleep Therapist is waiting for you. I'm sure you will be okay but in this world...'

"I can't help still feel despair is out there" I say out loud to no one.

Here's the Pregame Shuichi Saihara x Reader smut

Shuichi has always watched the Danganronpa Killing Games and fantasized about being in them, about being an Ultimate, specifically the Ultimate Detective. He's talked to others about this, which earned him harsh names like, Freak, Creep , Weirdo and Killer. The last one was mainly from the fact he said he wanted to make the most gruesome and painful murder. Shuichi never really liked anyone romantically until his senior year. A girl by the name Y/N L/N joined Springfield Academy as her beautiful H/C H/L and her E/C and her walk, it all begged him to ravage her. She's a very kind girl with the spirit of goddess, she surely will be perfect for Shuichi. Todays the day he will make his move, he got his usual uniform on along with his backpack and headed out towards school. He seen her talking to that boy Kokichi Oma. God he hated that boy, he's such a spineless boy. After his goddess left for class, he grabbed Kokichi by the collar of his shirt and gave him an angered look "what are you doing with my sweet goddess??" He almost yelled at him.

"Y-you mean Y/N?" he said meekly "S-she's just m-my partner in a p-project! I-I'm sorry!" he whimpered and held his hands up. How can someone like her want to be his project buddy?? This is unacceptable! His eyes swirled in slight madness but before he could make his move, he heard someone coming towards them. "say nothing about this and ill let you go" He said as Kokichi nodded quickly and was released from Shuichi's death grip. It was Y/N that was coming back, she seen Shuichi and smiled with a slight blush "Hey Shuichi!" she exclaimed as Shuichi blushed almost like a school girl with a crush on a jock. "H-hey Y/N!" he smiled, "Hey Kokichi are you ok?" She asked him as she noticed her friend all shaking up. Kokichi looked at Shuichi quickly before nodded "y-yeah! But Y-Y/N I don't wanna d-do that project a-anymore with you.." he said trying to avoid all contact with both Shuichi and Y/N. Y/N was confused "why? you seemed really into I-" "I-I JUST D-DON'T WANT T-TO DO IT!' he yelled and ran off in the opposite direction of the school. Y/N seemed heartbroken from her friend's shout. 'Did I do something wrong..?' she thought to herself as tears rolled down her face as her first and only friend at this new school just ran away from her like she's some monster. Shuichi hugged her "its ok, he was always so mean to others" he said, "really..?" "yeah, he's always been that way, let me help you finish that project" he said in a caring and passionate voice. "really? Thank you Shuichi! You're a life saver!" She kissed his cheek and ran off to school. He stood there, hand on his face as his blush spread from ear to ear. He soon followed to the school.

Throughout the day they spoke often and planned that evening that he would help her finish the project. Each hour was more and more excruciating for him, he could barely keep his own excitement in his pants.

As the school day ended, he couldn't be anymore excited or calm, as they walked home, he started to talk about the Danganronpa Killing games, and for once, someone wasn't scared or disgusted by this, she was actually a bigger fan then he was, was that even possible? Well to him its like heaven. Once they got to his home, he helped her with the project as he promised, though his pants couldn't get any tighter around him. They two finished the project fairly quick. "That's the last of it! Thank you so much Shuichi! Though I must get going, my family tends to get overworked up if I'm not home by 5pm" she then got up. 'That's it..? Just a simple thank you..? NO! That cant be it! He got up quickly as he pinned you to the wall, you yelped as his eyes stared into yours, your heartbeat got faster as your face flushed a deep pink. "S-Shuichi? What are you doing?" you asked as your voice is soft and low from fear. "A thank you wont satisfy me! I've been wanting to ram you since the day you entered the school, you now belong to me and only me, NO ONE ELSE!" he shouted as you flinched, yes you are scared but at the same time you're turned on by this erratic behavior. You did have a small crush on him since you met, but everyone kept saying he was a killer and creep so you never spoke to him all that much before today. His hand groped your right breast as the other felt your behind, he slipped your underwear off and tossed it. He then licked up from your open blouse to your neck, he sucked on it for while to make it deep blueish color. His eyes half closed yet filled with such lust. Within seconds he undid his pants to release his pulsing member. "W-Wait, I-I don't h-have a change of c-clothe-" Before you could finish your sentence, he slammed into your womanhood, piercing the small wall that once stood, making you tense up with small cries. He's so deep into lust and despair to realize your pain and continued to roughly thrust, his moans are from quiet as his easily over powered yours, filling the room with the smell of sex and the sounds of it. You soon felt more pleasure then pain as he gripped your bottom and shoved you closer to him his head on the wall, leaning against it to feel you and him from falling. Even with limited movement, he still thrusted into like there's no tomorrow, with each thrust, his member pulsed. He groaned as he got closer, you started to worry on the chance of pregnancy, "S-Shuichi, P-pull MhM out!" you pleaded trying to be audible only for the plead to fall deaf to his ears as he groaned and released his seed into your womb, filing it completely. His thrusts became softer and slower until he stopped. He pulled out as his seed spilled out, though it wasn't all of it. His rough actions left you dazed beyond conscious. He layed you onto the bed as he then thought about the game, if he was to join it, he may not make it out alive. What would his precious Y/N think if she was to see him die. He then laughed, "that wont happen..because ill be the Ultimate Detective!"

that was 1137 words! This took about 3 hours to write because I kept getting distracted! Hope you liked it!

Deaf S/O with characters I headcanon knowing ASL

ASL specifically, though ASL and sign language go interchangeably with this headcanon, this post specifies things to ASL.

And this S/O is deaf AND signs ASL, doesn’t specify anything else otherwise I’d be specific about it :)

Rantaro Amami

Something he noticed about you quickly is how loud you were.

You two moved in together, and it was never something he would have predicted.

You’ll go to get food at midnight and slam the cupboard close, scaring him awake.

You always eat at midnight too, it’s unusual to him.

He will wake up with you absent in the bed and be like oh no.

He’s a very calm, quiet person.

He will never tell you about your volume, though, in fear he’ll embarrass you.

When you first met, after learning you were deaf, he definitely watched a lot of videos on deaf culture.

He also developed a crush on Nyle DiMarco.

I mean what.

If you ask he doesn’t know who that is.

He’s very educated on the manor, and often corrects people when they refer to you incorrectly.

But the way he signs is very textbook-y.

He signs 16 like ten-six, which bothers you.

Does NOT keep up with sign language slang.

You signed see you later to him and it blew his mind.

You tried to show him the sign for emoji and he went ???

The sign name you give him is ‘beautiful’, and then it ends with an R.

Kirumi Toujou

You often have to ask her to repeat herself to get the message of her words across, since she hardly uses facial expressions.

She learned ASL for a job once and forget a lot of it.

You enjoy teaching her, definitely.

Because teaching her means she’ll sign like you.

One time she signed Sunday a different way than you and you went ???

“Where did you learn that.”

“... signing saavy.”

“Nice.”

The best part about her is that she is actually good at the grammar structure.

It’s actually quite surprising that you don’t have to simplify your sentences.

Going shopping is fun with her, too.

That’s where she specializes; in food.

She can name almost everything in the food aisle.

Can easily understand your excited rambling but can’t seem to sign fast herself.

Slow and delicate, it’s cute.

Worst part for her is how loud you have the TV.

She likes doing laundry in silence, but that’s hard when she can hear the conversations of characters all the way from the living room.

She asks you to turn it down.

“Sorry.”

You don’t.

She is always working hard as the SHSL Maid, so you hardly get to see her.

But whenever she returns she always brings you a small gift.

Sometimes foreign coins or keychains.

Her sign name is ‘business’ with a T, because you met her while she was working and she was very focused!

Hid the fact that she knew ASL from you.

It was because she’s bad at it.

You assure her that to the Deaf community, it’s the effort that matters.

She has met a lot of deaf people because of you and gets scared to sign to them.

She even blushes in embarrassment.

But if you ask for help in public than she’ll be happy to assist.

That’s rare, though, since you almost always find a way to communicate with hearing people who don’t sign.

Something she enjoys is the stillness of your house.

The Kuzuryuu household always has some type of noise going on.

Yours is almost always quiet.

She isn’t afraid to sign to you when you’re home alone.

You like teaching her signs like “wow.”

Seeing her sign them in a neutral face is funny to you.

“Facial expressions matter to my language, Peko!”

She gets flustered when you correct her.

Her sign name is a motion that signifies her braids, with a P handshape.

You always love playing with her hair.

She thinks it’s annoying.

“I want another name sign.”

“No.”

She’ll crawl into bed next to you and then feel you messing with her hair.

She huffs, “I thought you were sleeping.”

Sonia Nevermind

Different types of sign language was always her favorite thing to learn.

She loves Deaf culture and always tries to involve herself in it.

Meeting you made her even more excited once she learned you were deaf.

You thought it was really weird until she explained that she studied the culture.

You were impressed, especially since she had never talked to one in person before.

She even started signing slang and it blew your mind.

You gave her a sign name the first day you met her, and she almost passed out in joy.

Princess with an S, and she thought it was awesome, even though it was basic.

She told all of her classmates she got a sign name.

When a bunch of Ultimates came up to you asking for a sign name you went ???

Well now you have to bring her to a Deaf convention.

When she attends ballroom dances, she always brings you along so you can meet people of her culture as well.

She keeps you by her side, holding your hand the entire time and explaining what is happening and why.

She secretly wants to be an interpreter.

Dating her is really fun, of course, because she really wants to learn.

Makes a law that says interpreters are a necessity in her countries broadcasts.

Whenever she travels, she always sends you selfies with the ILY sign.

It’s her favorite.

She never stops thinking about you.

She works hard to make laws to the Deaf community in her country feels welcome.

Gundham Tanaka

Originally learned sign language to teach to his pets.

Never knew he would have to use it to talk to someone.

Until Sonia introduced you to him and he busted out in ASL

Signs as dramatic as you think he would.

Sign name is literally devil.

Asked specifically for that sign name.

When you both cuddle he’ll smother his face against you - often your chest or your neck - and mutter how much he loves you.

If you still have some of your hearing you’ll be like “I swear to god if you don’t stop using your voice.”

If you’re stone deaf you’ll just roll your eyes and enjoy the vibrations against your skin.

Gundham would also definitely hum against you.

His voice is deep and it rumbles so yes.

You can also talk to a lot of his animals, since they understand sign language.

It’s awesome being able to communicate with animals.

You like taking baths with him, too.

He likes talking a lot so it would be easier to talk to him.

If he ever needs help with the big cats, he’ll call you, because their scary roars don’t bother you.

The fact that they have claws does though.

Whenever he gets anxious he talks behind his scarf, which drives you crazy.

“Sign, damnit, or I will literally kill you!”

Mikan Tsumiki

Has helped a lot of deaf students.

But barely knows any words outside of the medical field.

Gets emberassed whenever you correct her on something she signs wrong.

Signs mostly PSE, but you help her switch into ASL.

She’s a big hugger, always holding you close and having you cradle her.

You gave her the sign name “shaky princess.”

“P-Princes???”

She takes awhile to get used to how blunt ASL is.

Stutters a lot still, even in ASL.

Whenever you sign to her while she has something in her hand she’ll start freaking out and crying about not being able to respond.

Until one day you sign to her with one hand and she’s like ??? you can do that?

Showers with you a lot.

Her brain doesn’t process signing in the shower, though.

So it’s mostly just the two of you standing together.

She definitely prefers sign language over talking.

Sometimes she finds herself signing while talking, too.

Shinguuji Korekiyo

100% you cannot convince me this man doesn’t know ASL.

He is obsessed with culture, so he’s definitely very knowledgable in Deaf culture and history as well.

Though understanding his signs is very hard because of his mask.

Sometimes he’ll take off his hat so you can easily see the upper half of his face.

(Okay but can we talk about if deaf S/O is a girl how he wouldn’t kill her because Miyadera doesn’t know sign language so they wouldn’t be friends)

An amazing signer, though, since he talks to a lot of Deaf people.

I mean you almost can’t tell he’s hearing.

It’s just the facial expressions and body movement.

Boy is stiff.

Makes you uncomfortable when he signs things like chubby face and skinny.

He just... stands there with his blank eyes.

He scares you all the time, too.

Like he’ll just walk up behind you and touch you.

Not even a shoulder nudge either he’ll just grab you and hug you.

You let out a noise of surprise each time.

If you’re nonverbal, that’s probably why he does it.

You really wanted his sign name to be something like mystery man.

Discussed it with your deaf friends.

Settled on anthropology just because of the hat he wears.

Really wanted it to be less obvious though.

You like to have tea with him.

Because everytime he changes into his eating mask, you are like-

“Why don’t you have a signing mask?”

“The point of the mask is to hide my mouth.”

Doesn’t remember learning ASL

Just??? Knew it.

When he saw you signing to your friend he knew what you were saying without realizing.

Hands move in language hello???

You had to explain to him that you are deaf and it’s how you communicate.

He thinks it’s incredible how you have your own language.

He’s also grateful that he knows it so he could learn more about what being Deaf is.

If you’re verbal than one day you’ll speak while signing and he’ll ???

He’s happy you’re deaf because that means he can sing around you.

And doesn’t mind living in a household with a deaf person, the slamming of cabinets and doors doesn’t bother him.

Chaotic.

Knows ASL because he took classes one time.

When he learns you’re deaf he will force you to watch every movie he watched in his ASL class.

Will try to sneak up on you.

But he stomps when he walks so it doesn’t always work.

Though, just to bother you, when he walks by he’ll pull your hair.

Replaced shoulder nudges with pulling your hair.

When you sign a word he doesn’t know he’ll pretend to understand.

You can tell when he doesn’t.

He is very prideful in his signing abilities.

He’s just happy to be able to communicate you.

Shhh don’t tell S/O but he loves them very much and tries his best.

He literally started taking ASL classes again just to catch up on new signs.

Begs you to make his sign name astronaut.
