Watched Damsel this weekend, yes Millie Bobby Brown brought the dragon home, but did she bring the glow worms?? They are a medical miracle, she could be curing cancer over here, but she seemed to really be moving past them quick!!!

Also, I canNOT tell you the dread I felt when we saw the men coming down into the mountain after her. I was BRACING to see the whiny baby prince and his stupid haircut.
The RELIEF I felt when it was her dad. Thank the HEAVENS and also the author.

Just watched Damsel, and I really liked that through it all, Elodie never lost her kindness.
She was able to be badass and a survivor, and both physically and intellectually strong, while trying true to her kind character and also never losing her femininity.
If you’re into female- centric fantasy, I highly recommend! It was a fun watch. As you could probably tell from the trailers it’s basically fantasy “girl power” feminism 101, but it owns that.

Also, let's take a moment and just commemorate every girl that had to go through a cave, and every girl who couldn't make to the cave with names to be remembered. Who couldn't squeeze through so tight tunnels (cave diving is a fucked up hobby irl, sorry not sorry), who wasn't fast enough, or was burnt too badly and died slowly, who wasn't sporty enough, or had sweating problems to jump to the glowbug cave, who wasn't strong enough, or had a panic attack, who suffocated, or died from hunger.

say what you want about Netflix’s Damsel, but the ending gave me chills and literally had me shedding tears.
*spoilers*
we need more movies like this, the ones where the *actual* antagonists got what they deserved, and the misunderstood ones, who are actually victims too, got a chance to redeem themselves and live a happy life. I was super satisfied with the ending we got, because I was so rooting for the dragon. I mean I was rooting for Elodie too, obviously, but let’s be real, the dragon’s story was the most tragic one, and she was never a villain — and if you think she is, after learning about what happened to her and her children, just because she’s “a beast” then I literally do not trust you.
we love the dragon here. she’s the mother. literally.

Does Damsel really... absolve the dragon for murdering dozens of women because they apparently deserved to die if they had a great great great great great grandfather who did a bad thing?

Is damsel a perfect movie? No. Would I watch it again? Yes. Look, I’m a simple person, give me a dragon, cool costumes, and Hanz Zimmer, and I’ll be happy.

Elodie is a stronger woman than me.
If someone threw me down a hole and I had to fight for my life AGAINST A DRAGON?!
I would simply give up and let her eat me, like
💖 no thank you I'm good bestie💖
