AN: back to my daiya roots hehe
it had been a long day at the field, spending hours in the sun, sitting in the stadium watching baseball. understandably, you were beat. but your boyfriend and his team got the win, so who were you to complain? ah yes your boyfriend, that arrogant, cocky, and a lot of the time annoying team captain, miyuki kazuya.
despite the heat and long days, you loved attending all of his games and supporting your boyfriend in his element. however you can’t deny that it really takes a lot out of you. i mean dealing with that shithead is enough work on its own.. but i digress.
you wait outside the stadium for your annoying ass lovely boyfriend to come out and congratulate him on his win. as soon as you see him walk out of the doors you go to him with open arms and wrap him in a hug. he kisses the top of your head and thanks you for always being there to support him at his games. you’re resting on him for a little too long where you almost sink into him, and he realizes you’re as tired as he is, if not more. being the stellar boyfriend he his, he looks down to you and asks, “hey babe, do you wanna ride home on the bus with me?” this is really an excuse to spend more time with you but of course he’d never admit to it. his smile gives it away though.
not wanting to be a bother you reject, “no no! it’s okay don’t worry, my friend can give me a ride home it’s fine!” despite plastering a smile on your face and reassuring him, he sees right through that. “oh please, you practically just fell asleep and drooled on me” he replied while rolling his eyes and flicking your forehead he is so in love with you. you know kazuya enough to know this is his annoying way of saying pleaaaaase sit with me on the bus i can’t deal with eijun alone, so you call your friend and tell them they don’t need to give you a ride back to the school.
the two of you enter the bus hand in hand, and make your way to a seat towards the back of the bus. being so gentlemanly he gives you the window seat, but mainly so that he can easily chit chat with kuramochi who’s sitting right across from him. after the bus takes off, you’re gazing out the window, in awe of the evening haze glossing over the scenery you’re passing by. honestly, miyuki is so in awe of you that he’s barely listening to whatever his green headed teammate has to say. “hey. shitface. hello? miyuki? are you even listening?” he is not.
you’re however at peace. content with the company of your boyfriend, and the beautiful scenery you’re taking in on the ride back to seidou, you can’t help but doze off a little. you try not to slip up, since you know miyuki would not let you hear the end of it, but at this point you’re in too deep. one second you’re leaning back against your sat looking the window, the next your head slowly begins to fall to the side. where does your head fall, you may be asking? of course, on miyuki’s shoulder.
he flinched a little, surprised by the sudden weight his shoulder is now bearing, but he makes sure to move ever so slowly as to not disturb you. “aye mochi shut the hell up, y/n is sleeping and i don’t want your yapping to wake them up!” aggressively whispers. rolling his eyes, kuramochi pipes down and finds someone else to bug with his antics.
miyuki carefully readjusts himself to get more comfortable, being careful not to wake you. after that he just takes a moment to gaze at your figure, noticing how peaceful you look, and realizing how lucky he is to have you in his life. for once, that shit eating grin is off his face and replaced with a rather wholesome, genuine smile. you are his whole heart, and if you look close enough you can even see a slight pink tint creep up on his face. these were some of his most cherished moments. where nothing else, not even baseball, can even come close to. whenever he’s with you nothing else matters, whenever he’s with you he’s home.
after he’s done staring at you lovingly, he decides it’s time he gets some rest of his head. he carefully places his head atop yours and rests his eyes. dreaming of your future together. hoping this bus ride will last forever.
when kuramochi looks over he gets a kick out of the sight he sees before him, amused by his asshole of a friend doing something so “corny.” he snaps a photo of you two in hopes to use it as blackmail, but really, he knows his friend would would appreciate the heartfelt candid of him & his s/o. and he does. after mochi sent him the photo, kazuya made it his lockscreen and even posted it on his story with the caption, “couldn’t think of anyone better to sit next to on bus rides 🤍 …sorry yoichi” kuramochi temporarily blocked him.

sawamura eijun
he would constantly try to get your attention whenever you were outside
during practice, whenever it was his turn to bat, he would try hitting the ball far in order to impress you but instead misses the ball again
once practice ended he would always look for you after and would try to find any way possible to spend as much time with you
whenever you guys had class together, he would grab a seat next to you to chat with you while being the loudest person in class
he would even bring you your favorite drink to class and would eat lunch with you
even during an actual game he would always try to get your attention
eijun let’s out a serious huff as he holds the baseball close to his chest. he sets his focus on making sure the ball passes the batter. he stretches his arm back, pushing all his strength into the ball but at the same time holding a light grip making the ball shoot past the batter. a ringing silence was held on that field.
“STRIKE BATTER OUT!!” the crowd rawrs at aces victory. an eager smile grew on eijuns face as he screams over his success. He jumps up high with his arms raised with one hand in a baseball glove. the team crowds around him, proud of his accomplishment at making the team win. a gleaming smile was lit on his face. eijun began racing to the bleachers scanning through the crowd in hopes of finding you. he squints his eyes through the boiling sunlight and finally spots you. he waved frantically at you.
“Y/N DID YOU SEE THAT??” you chuckle over the fact that the first thing he did was look for you.
“YES I SAW EVERYTHING!!” you yell back. his smile grew seeing you so proud of him.
“GREAT HOB EIJUN-KUN!!” you blow a kiss at him making him grow absolutely red. he jumps up high and pretends to catch it and waves bye to you as he jogs into the dugout. eijun couldn’t wipe that smile off his face. miyuki couldn’t help but notice eijuns blushing face.
“i see you’ve grown closer to y/n.” miyuki jokes while nudging on his shoulder. eijun grumbles as he tells him to shut up. he couldn’t help but smile again thinking about you.
miyuki kazuya
you will be receiving non stop teasing and flirting from this boy, from small accidents you would make to completely embarrassing moments
since he’s the captain he’ll find any excuse to get your help
in the middle of you carrying three heavy boxes he’ll call you over just to talk to you
you would get completely annoyed but secretly enjoy his company
he would always ask you to do the score board during any practice game just so he could see you in the dugout
he finds it really cute seeing you in the manager uniform or wearing the manager jacket, really makes him feel like your a part of the team
he would always notice whenever you were struggling in class and would offer to tutor as an excuse to spend more time with you
you groan staring at the long list of math equations sitting in front of you. miyuki chuckles seeing how frustrated you’ve become. miyuki offered his dorm to help tutor you with math. you were sitting side by side on the carpet with a small table filled with homework and snacks scattered.
“miyuki i still don’t get it.” you turned to him with tired eyes. you felt absolutely burnt out with all these complicated equations.
“alright, how about we take a break?” a smile lit on your face as you quickly sat up.
“yes please!! i need a break.” you both climbed off the ground stretching your limbs. you both decided to get a drink from the vending machine outside of miyuki’s dorm.
“so how’s the team doing?” you ask while deciding on which soda to get. miyuki goes on about how everyone has been improving but also calling out on their weaknesses. it made you smile seeing how passionate he was about this sport. in the middle of his sharing, he paused noticing you staring at him for a while.
“what’re you looking at? my pretty face?” he giggles making you shove his face away.
“i was gonna mention something sweet but you ruined the moment.”
“no, no tell me please!” he says while tugging on your shirt. you huff has you lean against the vending machine.
“it’s just really… nice, seeing how passionate and invested you are in this sport. it’s enjoyable seeing others grow into something they love.” you take a sip of your drink avoiding his gaze. you hear him chuckle.
“i’m actually quite grateful that you’re a manager.” you raise an eyebrow at him
“somehow you keep me going.” you start to feel heat growing on your cheeks. you lean close to him and place a gentle kiss on his cheek. his eyes grew at your sudden action.
“alright, let's get back to studying!!” you said as you were marching back into his dorm. this left miyuki flustered standing stiff in front of the vending machine.
kuramochi youichi
he’s definitely the type to always act nonchalant around you when in reality he’s a ball of anxiety eager to be around you
whenever he noticed you carrying several boxes into the storage room, he would always grab the boxes out of your hands and helps you bring it inside
he then gets called on by the coach to stop flirting and get back to work
during lunch time he would always find his way to sit beside you while his teammates tease him from afar
he tries flirting with you but ends up messing up midway making him blush in embarrassment
you only laugh making his embarrassment slightly leave
during late night practices, he would always offer to teach you how to bat
the lights around the practice field was shining down on the team who were doing there last few swinging practices of the night. you were in the middle of collecting baseballs all around the field. you spotted the last ball sitting in the field. you pick it up and toss it in the bin in your hands.
“need some help with that?” you grew startled suddenly seeing kuramochi standing beside you.
“i think i’m g-“ he grabs the box out of your hands and starts walking toward the storage room. you noticed the seidou team putting away the equipment and heading to the locker room.
“you really don’t have to do that for me, don’t you wanna shower and head to bed?” kuramochi shrugs.
“i’d much rather spend my time with you.” you were thankful he wasn’t looking at you as you felt your face grow warm. you both reached the storage room. he helped place the box of baseballs inside and noticed the bin of baseball bats. you were just about to shut the storage room.
“hey wait…” you looked up seeing him hold up a baseball and a bat.
“wanna learn how to bat?” you see excitement grow on his face. you couldn’t help but say yes. a smile grew bright on his face as he grabbed onto your hand and guided you back to the field.
“alright, show me your stance.” you awkwardly held up the bar as you tried remembering how the team stood during a game. kuramochi began walking around you studying your stance.
“keep your legs apart and bend your knees a bit.” you did as he said. he noticed you holding the bat incorrectly.
“no, no, you’re doing it all wrong.” he stands behind you with his chest pressed against your back. he starts to wrap his arms around you with his hands over yours. he fixed your grip on the bar while lifting your arms up higher. your heart was racing feeling him pressed so close to you. he steps back to check your stance again.
“perfect, now try hitting this ball.” he tosses the ball toward you. you swing the bat as you completely miss the ball. kuramochi cackles loudly as you stare at him blankly.
“okay, try again.” he tosses the ball again, you swing the second time making you hit the ball all the way toward the gate.
“WOAH! what a hit…” he smiles brightly and jogs toward you. he lifts his hand up high for you to high-five. a smile lit on your face as your cheeks grew warm as you gave him a high-five.
“now go shower, you absolutely stink!” you shoved him toward the way to the locker room making him chuckle as he waved bye to you.

How I think Daiya no Ace Characters hug (Furuya, Haruichi, Kanemaru, and Sawamura) - Headcanons
(Please remember, these are only my headcanons of how I think these characters would hug) (Mostly platonic, can be seen as romantic)
Eijun Sawamura
- Sawamura is quite a hugger, when he gets excited, he would tap or flop himself onto others, if you are close friends, he flops his body over You for attention, if you aren't as close he would tap your shoulder rapidly or bonk you a few times.
- Sawamura would laugh loudly and practically jump on you whenever he sees you, happily just yelling your name, everyone on the team knows when you arrive due to Sawamura.
- “I know, I know, I'm so amazing! Ahaa!” Sawamura would dorkily grin and whenever he got to hug you, he tries to be respectful.. but he always seems to overstep into your personal space.
- He manages to accidentally step on your toes whenever you hug, basically being too excited to think about where he stands.. so he subconsciously chooses on your shoes.
- Sawamura is quite a warm guy, simply wrapping his arms around you to either plop his head onto your head or shoulder as he excitedly rock back and forth as he tells you about his very awesome day at practice or something along those lines.
- Quite like a golden retriever, as he likes front hugs, he likes being right up against you, where he could easily wrap his arms around your neck, shoulders, or waist.
- This man would love it if you are as clingy to him as he is to you, but if you aren't, that's alright. He would try very hard to be respectful, but he also loves attention, praise, and physical touch BUT! He would try and make your comfort #1 priority during hugs.
- He wouldn't notice at all if you were uncomfortable, you would have to tell him if he's too loud, or hugging too tight. He would laugh loudly and sheepishly as he would let go or loosen his grip on you.
- ‘Good luck hugs!’ Sawamura would say before hugging you before a game, a tight bone-crushing hug then he would run off, almost tripping over his own two feet with a small blush the moment you, Miyuki, or Kuramochi make fun of him.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Sawamura would shout happily after a hug, cackling for all to hear as he would 'brag' to the rest of the team.
Satoru Furuya
- Furuya would just plop down on you, his head on your shoulder or lap if you're good friends, that is his hug, and he wants to nap.
- Furuya's hugs are… unique. It would either be from behind or from the front, he would practically just walk into your body, waiting for you to be the one to hug him. He wouldn't even wrap his arms around you, he would just end up resting so his chin was on your head or shoulder.
- The man would definitely fall asleep if you held him too long, his eyes would tiredly droop as he would hide his face into your neck, head, or shoulder.
- Furuya is much colder than Sawamura, he would startle you with his cold hands, claiming he needs you to warm him up so he could go pitch. It became a normal thing for him to just walk up to you and place his hands on yours to ‘warm up’ and then silently walk away to go get (annoy) Miyuki to catch his pitches.
- He tends to forget about boundaries, accidentally getting into your personal space as he would murmur for your attention, forgetting to be respectful of what you would want.
- But if you tell him straight up, you want him to do something or hug you a certain way he would. He's just a bit dense when it comes to being respectful and respecting unspoken boundaries.
Haruichi Kominato
- He is shyer with his hugs, hiding his face into your shoulder, or neck as he would wrap his arms around your torso or shoulders.
- “Thank you.” He would say quietly once you both let go from the hug.
- He has good body temperature, warm but not too hot or cold.
- He has two different hugs, a casual side hug that people or you usually would have to pull him into or his normal casual hug, where it wouldn't be too short or too long and it would be comfortable.
- He is very observant and respectful, he would notice if you were uncomfortable in a hug and make an effort to let go and see what he could do to make you comfortable.
- He would be shy about the hug, if you tease him, he would go red in the face and keep his eyes behind his hair as he would turn away and laugh sheepishly.
- He wouldn't hug you before games, being too shy to hug anyone in front of his team, he would give you shoulder pats though like he would to the rest of the team.
Kanemaru Shinji
- Normal and sane hugger compared to the others.
- He would grunt as he would wrap his arms around your waist or shoulders, being a bit stubborn about the hug.
- “All comfortable? Or do you need something else.” He would scoff, but he did mean it despite coming off as rude.
- Kanemaru does respect you, he doesn't mean to come off as rude, he simply does sometimes. He secretly doesn't mind the hugs, he might even like them, but he would tell a soul, that's something he would keep to himself.
- Kanemaru is quite warm, he would hug you close to his chest or would lean into yours if you are taller, his hugs are tighter compared to the others, with one hand resting on the back of your neck and the other resting on your lower back.
- Very respectful, would rest his face against the top of your head or your shoulder, no matter if you're taller or shorter.
- He would ‘shove’ you off after he claims you were hugging him too long and pat your head as he walks off.
- He wouldn't really hug you before the baseball games or practices, but if after? Yes, you could get a hug, he has such an adrenaline rush after playing, he would hug tightly and with a big happy grin that he got to play.

Even though Mochi 100% supports your relationship, he goes out of his way to piss Miyuki off
He knows when to not though, if Miyuki's having a rough time he actually goes out of his way to keep the pitchers off his back so he can have time with you
Other than Mochi, I don't think he really gets jealous, just annoyed and even with Mochi it's more annoyance
Unless he sees someone he really, and I mean really, thinks is a better match for you
I mean, we saw how awful his first bit as captain was because he wasn't sure he was good enough (if I'm remembering right)
Now put those same feelings into a relationship where he knows you can walk out whenever
I could see that insecurity turning into jealousy, and he'd probably try and shut you out cause god knows that boy doesn't like to discuss his feelings
Chris
The team
Hear me out, I imagine that he was a bit jealous of the team right after his injury
I mean, you tell him to take his time and heal up and you visit him in the hospital while he's there but then he has to catch up with school and he has physio and it's a whole mess
So he's probably a bit jealous of how much time they get to spend with you
But I don't really see Chris getting jealous
Oo! I just had a thought- Mochi totally dared Sawamura to ask you out/flirt with you in front of Chris
Of course Chris caught on quickly and just found it amusing
"Y/N-SENPAI, I THINK YOU'RE REALLY COOL! PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!"

summary: in which kazuya is just being the baseball nerd he is

The sound of the television filled the room as Kazuya sat on the couch, his eyes glued to the baseball game playing out on the screen. Y/N joined him, curious about the intensity in his gaze as he watched every pitch and analyzed every play.
"Kazuya, you're such a baseball nerd," she teased, nudging him playfully.
He turned to her with a mischievous smile, not taking his eyes off the game. "Well, Y/N, it's not every day you get to witness the brilliance of the game firsthand. There's so much strategy, technique, and skill involved. It's fascinating."
Y/N chuckled, leaning closer to him. "I'll never understand your obsession with baseball, but I do love seeing your passion for it. You light up when you talk about the game."
Kazuya's eyes twinkled with excitement. "It's more than just a game, Y/N. It's a beautiful dance between the pitcher and the batter, a battle of wits and athleticism. Each pitch holds the potential for greatness or disappointment. And as a catcher, I get a front-row seat to all of it."
Y/N leaned back against the couch, crossing her arms playfully. "I suppose I should consider myself lucky to have a baseball nerd for a boyfriend. At least you'll always have something to talk about."
Kazuya's grin widened as he turned to her, his eyes filled with enthusiasm. "Oh, Y/N, you have no idea. I could talk about baseball for hours. The strategies, the statistics, the rivalries—it's endless. And I won't hesitate to educate you on the intricacies of the game."
She rolled her eyes, feigning exasperation. "Please, spare me the baseball lectures. I might just fall asleep."
He pretended to be offended, placing a hand over his heart dramatically. "Fall asleep? My passionate discussions about baseball are riveting, Y/N. I promise you won't be able to tear your eyes away."
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. "Alright, Kazuya, I'll humor you. Just don't be too disappointed when I start daydreaming about other things."
He feigned shock, his eyes widening. "How dare you? Baseball should be the only thing occupying your mind at all times!"
Their banter continued throughout the game, with Kazuya passionately explaining various plays and Y/N playfully teasing him about his obsession. It was a familiar dance between them, a playful back-and-forth that brought joy and laughter to their relationship.
As the game reached its climax, Kazuya's excitement grew, his eyes never leaving the screen. Y/N watched him, marveling at his childlike enthusiasm and unwavering dedication to the sport he loved.
"You know," she said, breaking the playful banter for a moment, "your passion for baseball is one of the things I love about you. It's a part of who you are, and I wouldn't change it for the world."
Kazuya turned to her, a soft smile on his face. "And your acceptance of my baseball nerdiness is one of the things I love about you. You embrace all parts of me, even the ones that might seem a little strange."
Y/N leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek. "Well, someone has to keep you grounded, right?"
He chuckled, his eyes still glinting with excitement. "I suppose you're right. And who knows, maybe one day you'll find yourself caught up in the magic of baseball too."
Y/N grinned, her eyes sparkling. "Never say never, Kazuya. With you by my side, anything is possible."

this is much much longer than what i expected, but i kinda got carried away because i love mei sm.. hope u enjoy anon ♡ please ask me more mei things..
♡ listen, if you want to date the narumiya mei — best pitcher of the generation, absolute ace of tokyo, blah blah blah — you have to be okay with not being his priority.
♡ mei has dreams, and so do you, but you have to admit that what he is aiming for is something that is too big even for you. but you believe in him, and you believe in the sort of process that it would take for him to get there. you are with him because you know how it would be and you are alright with it.
♡ and it gets hard, of course. you can never get used to the days where your messages would be left unread, or the way your study dates would end up with him snoring softly on your shoulders, tired at kunitomo's ruthless training regimens.
♡ mei knows that he is not perfect. and if there is any other way he can go about his life so that he can at least not be the source of your pain most times, he would take it. but this is a path that he chose. and he does not give up, nor does he not falter. he is narumiya mei. he will cease to be before willingly let go of his goal.
♡ but he loves you. dear god, he loves you. you don't know the amount of times he has sat in the dugout, peering under his battered cap, trying not to make it too obvious that he is hoping you are somewhere amongst the bustling crowd.
♡ he thinks that you are too good for him. for a bratty, overachieving jerk like him. you are too patient and kind, and he has done things that does not deserve your forgiveness. and yet, you stayed.
♡ you would visit him without a fail everyday — even on the days where you know that he won't be able to meet you. you would watch him from the sidelines, pride and endearment continuously bloom in your chest the more you see him. sometimes, you would even get him a drink from the vending machine, and you have to push him away so that he wouldn't hug you in his sweat-drenched, dirt-covered baseball uniform.
♡ so, on the dates you get to go to between his busy schedules, mei can't help but feel fidgety — even if he doesn't seem like it — and thinks over his words carefully. he threads on invisible ropes, not knowing what will be your last straw.
♡ but ignoring all of his anxiety, what mei loves doing on dates is taking photo booth pictures.
"Mei—" You whine as he practically drags you inside the building. Mirrors in funky shapes and sizes adorned the wall, and there are countless racks of sunglasses, headbands, and other fun accessories. "This is the second booth we see today. Can we not do this?"
"Don't be boring," he grins, already picking out headbands. He takes one with a crab claws coming out of it and scrunches his nose as he puts it on. "Do I look good?"
You purse your lips, holding in a titter before eventually bursting out in a series of laughter. "You look stupid."
"Ow," he pretends that something shoots him in the heart, clutching on his t-shirt with a pained expression on his face, eyes shut dramatically.
You push him away, still laughing, and he peeks through one eye just to savor the sight of your joy.

♡ but they've known you for a while by now, and it's generally just amazing to them to see you so willingly and enthusiastically date mei the same way he is too to you.
♡ being jealous of him is, of course, a given.
"Someone get this man's phone away from him," Carlos groans rather loudly in the cafeteria as Mei laughs, kicking his shin softly under the table without even gazing up from his phone.
You are sending him a string of texts, telling Mei about your day, and sending selfies with the strange robot employee you met while upgrading your phone credit in town. When all that he can think about is to add the pictures that you just sent to his wallpaper carousel, Riku, from the far-end of the table, is feeding into Carlos' yaps.
"What's so funny, Mei?" His voice booms, asking a question that the answer to is just too obvious.
"Beat it," Mei shoots back, busy tapping away in his phone, letting his steaming rice grow cold. "Find some other jerk to annoy."
♡ you are dating superstar mei, though for some reason, he seems to be the one who would boast about you. everyone knows about him. but you? no one knows about the way you take care of stray cats you found on school grounds or how excellent you are at molding things into your own nature. and he would be damned if you end up living under his shadow.
♡ he shows absolutely no interest to a person if what they offer is no more than support for his baseball career. and while he is grateful for everyone on his side, some people take it too far. and one should know to never cross narumiya mei's line. he has no problem cutting someone off of his life once he realizes their disrespect of his relationship — of you.
♡ oh, but fights with mei are quiet, and tearful. never in public, and always in secret. while mei basks on the spotlight usually on him, neither of you enjoys negative attention. communication really is key — though he is aware of every single one of his actions and words, slips-up cannot be avoided. the same thing goes for you.
♡ and mei doesn't really know why, but he doesn't cry even if you do. even on the verge of separation, or in a heated debate. his mind goes numb as fire takes over his body. during times like this, all he wants to do is swing his bat at nothing in particular, and hope that the problem would die after his 50th. but that isn't how life works, and that isn't certainly not how relationship works. mei is realistic, above all else, and to not be a hypocrite, he tames the temper raging in his bones and sit himself down. in all the times he has swallowed his ego for you, he always wishes that you would do the same to him.

i'd like to request hcs on what miyuki, chris, sanada, okumura, kuramochi and mima would do to win over/get closer to their female crush/ s/o (could be before they officially start dating or in the early stages of their relationship)
The interminable wait is over! All of the asks are written, now I will post. I don't know when I'll open the ask box, since I really struggled to get these done, but I do hope to open it fairly soon for a much smaller intake.

Miyuki Kazuya
It turns out that getting you to go out with him was easier than actually being in a relationship.
He’s a bit prickly and he’s not good at connecting with others. Real social interaction is a challenge and he’s pretty clueless. He puts in the effort, but feels really awkward with everything. Tries to go it by himself but doesn’t feel like he’s making any progress so he reluctantly asks his friends.
Not that they know anything, they’re baseball idiots too. But they brainstorm and come up with the usual cliché things he can actually do.
He gives you as much of his time as he can, walks you to class or to your club, buys you snacks or drinks. Listens to what you say and does preliminary research into the things you like. Patience will be the key here, and being open and honest. He needs help lol
Takigawa Chris Yuu
He’s nervous, but reasonably confident. He’s a little shy, but he stretches his wings a bit to try to get you to like him. Nothing too obvious, but it’s there.
Homework help for sure. If you don’t need help, then he’ll feign needing yours. To him, it’s a reasonable way to spend time together without being obvious or making things weird if you don’t like him back.
Definitely goes out of his way to learn about your interests, so he can something to talk to you about that isn’t related to school. Whether he shares the likes or not, he makes an effort.
Attention is his best weapon. When his singular focus is centered on you, you feel it. Despite being subtle, he’s pretty obvious to anyone who knows him. Ryou undoubtedly pokes at him.
It’s probably not surprising that he can be rather romantic. He’s a nurturing kind of boy, so it’s not hard for him to come up with ways to pamper you that won’t push or embarrass you. He’s very sensitive to your feelings.
Sanada Shunpei
Okay so, will he actually have to put in a special effort to win you over? He has everything going for him – good looks, sense of humor, surprisingly sweet, maybe a little goofy…
I don’t think he does anything special, but he’s a good boyfriend. He texts you all day, checking in, but also sending you amusing and cute things like memes and baby animal pictures. As you get closer, he will probably start venting out baseball things to you – this is a sign of intimacy, because he generally doesn’t say anything unless he trusts the other person
Always buying you tiny little gifts. Little keychains, plushies, figures, candy, food, even if you tell him he doesn’t have to, he keeps doing it, mostly because these little items make him think of you.
Secretly buys a second copy sometimes and hides it in his room so he can feel extra connected to you.
Okumura Koushu
1000% struggles to figure out how to talk to you in the first place, let alone ask you out. He’s pretty shy when it comes toother people when baseball isn’t involved. Especially with girls, since he has 0 experience with them, except from them giggling around him which annoys him greatly.
He probably notices you in the first place because you aren’t one of those girls. You acknowledge him, and smile at him, but you are never over the top, or make him feel awkward.
Seto’s advice is garbage, but somehow Yui’s isn’t? Koushuu probably would have ignored him too, except he sees how popular he is with girls and the fact that he can talk to them easily.
He starts small, just by talking to you, generally about school, since he’s awkward and doesn’t know what to talk about. After a few suggestions his conversation expands and as he gets more comfortable he’s a lot less awkward. His conversation is intelligent, and he’s unintentionally funny in a dry way
By the time he asks you out, you are pretty good friends, and he trusts you. The step over the line to more than friends isn’t as hard as he expected. The biggest thing he does to continue to win you over is give you time. His time is so limited, but every extra second he has goes to you, even if it’s just messaging or phone calls.
Kuramochi Youichi
He’s very earnest and really cool? He’s good with girls, despite his inexperience. One could argue that he’s cooler when talking to girls than he is with anyone else
He’s very enthusiastic. He talks to you about everything, and discusses decisions with you. You’re not a dick like Kazuya, and have much better sense. It’s kind of funny, since he, like many of his teammates, don’t do communication that well in general, but with you? He’s somehow a pro?
Never lets things fester or sit, and fixes things immediately. Makes you feel like you can tell him anything and he’s always there to listen to you.
Creates opportunities to do things together, which can be hard on a boarding school campus. Take turns coming up with the activity, which leads to you learning about baseball, and maybe video games/wrestling (if you don’t already know), likewise he learns how to do the things you like. Keeps trying no matter how terrible he is at it.
This boy cuddles, so I hope you are okay with that. Always respectful, but he loves nothing better than to have you in his lap and arms snuggling while you do whatever it is you are doing together.
Mima Souichirou
He’s so intense that he often comes off as scary, nothing could be farther from the truth, however.
He’s sweet and polite and very considerate of his girlfriend. He’s very focused on baseball so it takes him a little bit to adjust to having to reorganize his time. It’s a transition, so there is a bit of a rough patch, but he tries really hard.
He’s good at compromise, and he’s pragmatic. There’s no unnecessary fights with him, even if you get angry, he remains calm and listens. He’s very good at calming you down
Is very blunt, but also the softest boy too? Despite his tendency towards bluntness, he’s sensitive. Is always there when you need him, no matter what. Likes to take walks with you, and to hold your hand.
His favorite it taking you to the forest for a picnic. Is unintentionally very romantic lol He doesn’t think about things like that, he just thinks about what you both might like. He very much values your alone time
Often buries his face into the juncture of your neck and shoulder and just inhales. You smell so much nicer than his teammates.

sanada: 100% agree he loves nicknames. he would call you angel, love, dear, kitten, honey, bunny, and ALL the names under the sun and bonus points if they fluster you every once in a while. there are times he does it ironically to try and embarrass you but generally he does so unironically cause he's a huge romantic teddy bear whose chest is perfect to rest on :')
miyuki: i think at first he would give you a teasing nickname, perhaps based off of an embarrassing moment or notable quality of yours (physical like glasses or freckles, or attitude-wise - nerdy, tsundere, etc.), only once in a while using something like princess (and only for the purpose of embarrassing you - flustering you is something he and sanada would have in common). BUT one day he slips up and actually calls you something unexpectedly sweet but simple, like "beautiful" or "darling" and SO genuinely that you're both unsure how to react muahahaha

note : theme taken from another my fic, just Kataoka version. I've been thinking a bit about Kataoka lately. He spends a lot of time on the field with his kids (I mean seido), and I wondered what his family was like. If he has any at all.

You're his wife, but he's not home all the time because he's constantly working: competitions and seido training, and his regular job as a teacher. When he's away, you like to spend your time at his desk, taking notes or just catching up on the office work you bring home, because you have nothing better to do when your husband isn't around and you're sitting alone in four walls.
One day you just open one of the drawers because you need sticky notes and you're too lazy to go to the other room to get them. (Do I see him as an organized person, taking lots of notes about everything? Maybe.) In one of the next desk drawers you find an open pack of cigarettes.
His favorite.
You've never been a big fan of smoking. Most likely your grandmother smoked cheap, smelly cigarettes and you have an aversion to them. Tesshin, despite his addiction, tries to limit smoking in the rooms where you spend time together, he goes out on the balcony so that everything doesn't stink.
You also find a lighter in the drawer. With satisfaction you lit a cigarette, watching the white paper disappear into the flames. Although you still think cigarette smoke stinks, you suddenly felt as if someone hugged you from behind. A familiar smell. You turn your head, but there is no one behind you. Do you already miss your constantly absent husband so much that you start to freak out?
You raise your hand with a cigarette. You've seen Tesshin smoke many times, but you've never tried it. You try to take a drag, but your lungs are not used to this type of stimulant. After one clumsy inhale of smoke, you begin to choke. You laugh, rubbing your eyes with the back of your hand to get rid of the tears.
"How can he do this?" you mutter, looking at the white smoke floating in the air. "Oh shit," you shake off the ash quickly from the papers lying on your desk. You put the still lit cigarette back on the ashtray standing in the corner of the desk, and let the smoke fill the room, so that for a moment you feel as if Tesshin has decided to stay home for at least more than a night.

Chris
Chris is such a supportive sibling
You're stuck in a family that values sports and athleticism, so Chris takes extra care in showing interest in your hobbies
He's always asking about your newest art piece or to read your latest writing (even if it's an essay for school, he's going to read it)
Chris is just as reserved as you are, so the two of you have that mutual understanding of being the 'quiet' ones in your friend groups (therefore he doesn't make a huge deal about you being shy)
After his injury, I think Chris would seek your company out because you're the only one who hasn't continuously questioned how the injury would impact playing baseball
You let him exist and be himself because you've never seen him as just a prodigy catcher. You see him as a brother who has all of these other amazing qualities and hobbies that aren't baseball, and Chris appreciates it so much because it keeps his mind off of stressing about his future
Miyuki
Miyuki wouldn't know how to interact with his brother—especially when he was younger
Miyuki's life revolved around baseball when he was a kid (and it still does) so he felt like he had no way to connect to a brother who wasn't interested in sports
He definitely tried to talk about baseball with you in the beginning, but you just never caught on or understood anything
Eventually it got a little frustrating trying to explain, so he gave up on trying to talk to you about his sport
Something you eventually bonded over was complaining about other sports
Miyuki is shit at everything besides baseball, so the two of you tend to rag on other sports
Miyuki would be impressed with your hobbies, but sort of like you and baseball, he doesn't really understand them
(that won't stop him from stealing your good pens and pencils to write notes in scorebooks though)
Kuramochi
Mochi wouldn't really care if his brother was into sports or not because he'd find other things to bond over
Like the two of you have definitely played video games before. Despite your reserved personality, things get absolutely heated during Street Fighter and Smash Bros matches
Kuramochi also loves looking at and encouraging his brother's art! He would 1000% fund your art supplies (which he occasionally steals to use)
Ok but, Mochi would absolutely throw hands on his brother's behalf
He was more likely to during his "delinquent" days, but you bet your ass that if he hears even the slightest slander, even if it's from a teammate, that he will hunt them down and indulge in some mild threatening :))

daiya boys hogwarts house
a/n: these are my personal hc on what i think each daiya character would be in if they attended hogwarts :)
sawamura eijun (hufflepuff)
i was debating between hufflepuff and gryfindoor but he seemed to fit hufflepuff the most
He’s always putting his friends first before himself
he’s very much like a golden retriever boy and this ball of sunshine which i associate most hufflepuff characters as
he put so much work and effort to be ace and had eventually reached his goal making him so hard worker
he’s extremely loyal and always checks on his teammates and is constantly the teammate who cheers for everyone
miyuki kazaya (slytherin)
i’ve always seen miyuki to have a very cunning personality
he’s always outsmarting a lot of teams during a game
even though he didn’t want to be captain of seidou, he became a really good leader for this team
he analyzed everyone’s strengths and weaknesses and made sure to help the team grow
miyuki seems to hold so much ambition for baseball to the point where he analyzes every move in a game like a chess game
he’s constantly determined and focused on something he’s extremely passionate for which a lot of slytherins are a lot like
kuramochi youichi (gryffindor)
he’s always been someone who’s has so much determination for baseball
he isn’t afraid to be real to his teammates but also looks out for all of them
he doesn’t seem like the type of person who is really scared of many things and is willing to face anything in front of him
he had history of beating up other people only cause he did it to protect his friends which I feel like is the most gryffindor thing
he can be very stubborn and push till he reaches the level he wants to reach which has that daring part of him
haruichi kominato (hufflepuff)
he’s got quit a soft boy personality and is always sweet to every person he meets
out of everyone in the team, haruichi seems to hold the most patience especially when it comes to eijun being loud in public
he’s very modest and humble with everything he does, everytime he reaches a base on time he’s usually blushing like crazy from the compliments he would get for his good work
he’s also really hard working and had the eager goal to reach the team with his brother
takigawa chris yu (ravenclaw)
chris seems extremely wit when it comes to baseball and deeply studies every game
he’s really good at analyzing his teammates, like how he helped train eijun improve his pitching drastically
chris seems like he’s always willing to learn more, especially in baseball
he’s already pro in the sport but still continues to learn better and more skills in the sport

Idole Eijun and Pro baseball player Miyuki have been dating for a long time but no one know other than lose friends and family. And there’s rumors of course, they spend a lot of time together, often spotted at either a baseball game or at a concert and people wonder..
Are they dating or not? But neither confirm nor deny. They’re respecting pr team aren’t saying anything either and always refuse to answer any questions about them.
But then … they get engaged.. and for them it seems like the right time to share themselves with the world and so Eijun who had been working on a new album decides to share a song he never thought of sharing at first bc it didn’t seems fitting …
But it does now, so they used personal videos of them growing up together, first when they were just friends back in high school to them falling in love in friends photos or videos .. to their life together, videos of their cats, of them acting silly in their house or shouting, singing for each others at games/concerts. Wearing each other Merch and so on.
And at the end of it there’s a video of Eijun proposing to Miyuki, surrounded by their family and friends in their house.

NORI'S GREAT ISN'T HE???
Obviously Daiya's a sports shonen, so of course the stars of the show are gonna be the characters that get to be on the field but like. Never underestimate the insane security of having a teammate you trust in reserve. Plus, like, first-string pitcher at a powerhouse school? It takes a certain level of skill and insanity to reach that, show my boy Nori some fucking RESPECT--
some behind the scenes: while I was writing AAB, I actually googled "baseball position stereotypes" to get an idea of how I wanted to play with the side characters, and one of the first thing I saw was "closers are terrifying." So when I write Nori, I imagine someone who's sweet and generally mild-mannered--but also someone who THRIVES in high-pressure situations. The more stressful the situation is, the more alive he feels. It's what makes him a good relief pitcher.
But anyway I'm glad you like my take on him. He doesn't get highlighted nearly enough as he should. Thank you for the lovely ask!!! I'm glad you had fun with my fics!!!

Headcanon: Rei as chrismiyu's biggest ally
I love their relationship too much to not do a little meta about it. Specifically, I want to talk about the extra scenes for the boys from the end of Act I and Rei's part in them.
In the manga, we know Miyuki's trip to see Chris happens on his birthday (November 17), and he's pretty much healed. Meaning he specifically went to Rei to ask to see Chris on his birthday. Without admitting why. So they could hang out. Alone. At PT.
Now, Rei is no stranger to these boys. She has been with them together since the very beginning. She accidentally scouted Miyuki at their first meeting after watching them play each other.
It's also likely that Miyuki has expressed interest in Chris to her before. He says he went to Seido for both of them, but stares longingly at Chris while talking about destiny. There's an implication that she may have used Chris to influence his decision, especially since Chris doesn't know this story, but Rei smiles knowingly when he starts to tell it.
She also was in the room, shocked but not surprised, when Miyuki lost his composure over Eijun insulting Chris. In fact, she seemed more understanding of his mental state than upset at him for putting his hands on his teammate.
On Chris' end, she's stood beside him as a manager and heard him be more gracious about Miyuki's shortcomings than he was towards other players (such as Eijun). She knows there are some mutual affectionate emotions there once Chris recovers.
So, on their way to see Chris, she tells Miyuki to honestly express his feelings like he did "that time", probably referring to his car ride with her and his vice captains complaining about the captaincy and subsequent injury. Knowing she's implying he should be vulnerable with Chris, he blushes and deflects by (unwisely) asking about her love life.
Of course, that doesn't stop Miyuki from being really obvious about his crush once he gets there (still in front of Rei), internally worrying over his part in Chris' injury and thinking about how incredibly resilient Chris is.
She would remember that part of their history, too, it's revealed. She was right there when he got handed Chris' number 2.
If she stuck around for the rest of his PT session, she'd have seen the boys smiling fondly at each other, while Miyuki internally waxed poetic about his heart belonging to Chris and their rivalry, though he never expects to win.
He keeps seeing Chris after that, but as with most of their relationship, it's all heavily implied, and the details are kept off-screen. My heart believes Rei drives Miyuki every time and keeps dropping hints, hoping they'll sort themselves out before Chris graduates.
