R, U, and X for the fanfic ask meme!
R: Which writers (fanfic or otherwise) do you consider the biggest influence on you and your writing?
i don’t know if my writing is directly influenced by anyone, but started to read glee fanfiction last year, and i wouldnt be on tumblr/writing if it wasn’t for @rockitmans @little-escapist and @quizasvivamos ;; seeing that they were still writing klaine fanfiction that i was obsesssed with and that they all had tumblrs kinda convinced me to try writing again/make a tumblr myself !!
U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet?
ohhhh faberry. its going to happen at some point. i need to read more fics first tho, and i have such a difficult time reading while im writing. once inspiration strikes, though, its happening…
X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading? Are you a voracious reader? Do you carefully pick and choose? Something in between?
i’m pretty selective, but being mutuals with a lot of other writers has gotten me to read a lot of fics that i probably would have never read/clicked on myself!! its been really cool
and i read in bursts. i wont read for weeks and then its suddenly all i want to do. once i start reading something, i normally see it to the end

it’s based on the musical “the last five years” like i mentioned before and i have the full plot planned out and know how it’s gonna be paced. now i just have to write it lol
i’ll give a layout of what the first part of the story is gonna look like just so ppl who haven’t seen tlfy aren’t spoiled for anything
it begins at the end where we see a divorce obviously being hinted at, but then we flashback to five years before
kurt and blaine are college graduates from nyu living in new york (they met during their senior year)
blaine is a writer and kurt is an actor (or trying to be). blaine gets a call saying that his agent was able to get backing for his book publishing which is great!!
what isn’t as great is that while blaine is getting more and more famous, kurt is finding it harder and harder to book acting roles.
this causes tension obviously especially when they move back to ohio (which kurt HATES bc he hates ohio and acting roles are more plentiful in new york)
it continues to spiral from there but i don’t wanna give too much away!!

D. A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Interesting... I think for me it's more the about pairings I wished I loved but that I was/am mostly indifferent towards (which has been like all of fandom for the last near-decade). Back in Glee, I was quite annoyed that I didn't like Santana/Brittney but I actively didn't like both of the individuals to be honest. Now... I'd really like to get into Ed/Stede and may fall into that if I tire of Good Omens, but it's very dark and that puts me off a bit. Love them though, don't get me wrong.
I. Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
Not that I can think of. Corners of fandom always drive me insane but I think I always manage to find the right crowd and carve out somewhere to exist. Creators and canon on the other hand...
K. What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Prepare for a deep cut, because I was about to give up on this because it's a hard question but as I riffled through every fandom I've ever spent time in... Aeryn Sun in Farscape. That is proper character work within proper world-building, built up with proper acting and an amazing creative team. And such a love story.
V. Which character do you relate to most?
Whichever one I'm writing pov from, or I wrote from whichever character I'm relating to most. Or projecting, I think, is a more apt description. So at the moment, Crowley. Rejected, bad, misfit, and wondering what the point even is. Pragmatic, sarcastic, easily burning but also quick to hide it. I mean, I keep reblogging the memes, but basically a lot of fandom peeps fill that archetype.

Were you allowed to have sleepovers as a kid or were there stipulations as to how and when and who could spend the night? And if you were allowed, what was your favorite sleepover activity (movies, games - board or video -, scary stories, etc.)
I was allowed, yes. The stipulations were that it had to be all girls. I couldn't spend the night anywhere with boys and vice versa. Movies and video games was always fun for me. Once, when I was over at my best friend's house, she had two TVs in her room, so she'd be watching SAW on one with headphones on and I'd be watching something different on another. 😂

Do you know if anyone saved My Beautiful Rescue? The original author's tumble appears to be gone and it doesn't seem like it was crossposted to AO3 or FF.net.

It looks like the original author changed their URL, which broke the links in the posts (although it seems to work for me on mobile, just not on desktop - very strange!). If you click the link and then replace their old url with the new one (adamandkurt -> kitcantblog) it seems to take you to the right place!

Can you remember the first musical you ever watched?
Yes! it is still, even after all these years, my favorite musical. Saw it while I was in high school and it aired on Public Television ( which was really the only outlet I had to the arts at the time.)

57.) How conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?
i would like to say that i have everything planned out, but i do not. i, like, half plan? like, i know how a story is going to end when i start it, so i try to make it cohesive as i write. but, sometimes as i go, i have a Aha moment and need to backpedal and add a bunch of stuff. i dont post fics until most of it is planned and written.
in general, i am a bit of a scatter brain. i wish i was able to plan better bc itd make editing so much easier !
22.) Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
i title during the process or before. i generally know the title once i come up with the vague storyboard/concept- normally its related to the overarching idea that i want to hit home, but sometimes it changes a bit as i go.
